What Happened To The Maxim: “If asked to serve…”

Obama has been chalking up quite a few out right “nos’ for Vice Presidential nominee. The list just keeps on growing. So far he has been turned down by, Governor Rendell (PA), former Governor of Virginia, Mark Warner like Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) says no to veep, Governor Strickland of Ohio says “if elected, I will not serve.” and finally Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) says he’s not interested in being the running mate of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Just when we thought there was no one left to say “no”, Former Senator Bill Bradley (D-NJ), Monday, in a conference call with Fox News said “he would not accept accept a vice presidential offer from Obama.

The running total of of those who violate the old maxim now totals 6, yes, 6 politicians who will not serve this country as Obama’s second in the White House. This would be amusing except he is running out of politicians to vet for VP. Imagine that the VP is being vetted, how ironic, since Obama himself has never been vetted, no, just selected by the inept DNC and Howard Dean’s groupies.

And I certainly would like the mainstream media to ask all six politicians the following questions. Why is everyone saying “no” to Obama? What are their objections to moving up to the White House? What is it we don’t know? I am not holding my breath for the answers from the mainstream media!

  • http://investigatebarackobama.wordpress.com/puma/ kat in your hat

Everyone should run away from Obama. The you know what is going to hit the fan sooner or later. Get ready to hide under your desks DNC. It’s gonna be messy.

    • beebop

When that tree falls it is going to hit a LOT of people. You can’t blame these guys for being smart. Imagine the people who have said “no” to the campaign and haven’t spoken out … Didn’t Gore also say “uh, thanks, but no thanks?”

      • workingclass artist

Well…I thought Bill Bradley was so high on Obama…what gives ?
        Good Post Nancy.

        • Ted

Yes. Good post. Obama has been turned down by six people. And yet, and yet, he has not offered the job to anyone. Straining to create a case against Obama, the author has, well, lied.

          • Ferdberfle

And in private, I’m sure he’s been turned down by many more. Straining to create a case FOR Obama, you have omitted pertinent information.

            • workingclass artist

              LOL….Ask Larry Sinclair

              • Ferdberfle

                  why it can only be:

                  Obama/Wright ’08 or
                  Obama/MEchelle ’08

          • Clinton Fan

            Ewww, look, it’s TED!

Ted is letting all of us know just how frightened he is. He’s part of the “Oh shit, stomp out the fires of discontent” squad put together by Axelrod.

Everytime Ted posts here, he telegraphs his real fear. His fright comes through with every idiotic remark and incomplete assertion.

Put a notch in the “Obama Sucks!” bedpost every time Ted and his pals turn up–and pretty soon, that bedpost will be toothpicks.

We feel your pain, Ted. But you’d better be VERY AFRAID. Your candidate sucks, and the fact that you’re here, desperately disrupting–or trying and failing to so do–is telling, in and of itself.

Ted, try reading the mainstream press–they’re the ones reporting these “lies” of which you speak. Take that crap up with them, eh?

            Loser.

            • skepticle

“Loser”, huh? Which candidate did you support in the Democratic primaries? And will she be on the ballot in November?

  • mlr701

I’d really like to know why they all said no.

    • Northwest rain

Perhaps the ones who have rejected the VP call have read the polls??

Also perhaps the BOBO team has indicated that the VP will not have the same role as Cheney — in fact BOBO’s VP may be shipped off to Alaska or some such remote place?

    • bert

Especially as regards Bradley. He was one of Obama’s biggest and loudest cheerleaders in the primary. What gives?

  • HARP

I am officially turning him down also. Since his VP spot requires someone to lick boots and clean up after him, I will not serve when asked.

    • Mary Kay

      HA! Good one.

I won’t serve if asked, either. I figured I was next in line to be asked, so I thought I’d better make my intentions clear.

    • asimon

      Larry Sinclair for VP

      RFLAMO…Harp….Integrity it’s a terrible thing to waste.

    • nancysabet

count me out too, thanks but no thanks. who wants to be with the loser?

  • JP49

Nancy you forgot Al Gore and John Edwards. Guess Obama will have to get Bill Richardson (aka, Judas). This election is the biggest sham ever played on the American people. The democratic party was be cleansed of all delegates you support Obama. No one can get that stink off themselves, we smell em and we’re going to vote them out. Obama the biggest fraud of the United States of America.

    • bemused

But, wasn’t he mentioned as having dual citizenship (Mexico) and ineligible in a recent thread by Judah Benjamin?

      • Grail Guardian

Yes, neither is eligible, which makes me wonder why the others don’t step up to VP so they can fill his shoes when he’s disqualified based on his dual citizenship. Methinks I smell a rat – do these guys all know that a Democrat will not be elected in November?

      • Chicago Joe

Yeah, Judas seems to have dropped like a stone, getting exactly what he deserves.

    • Clinton Fan

John Edwards WANTS the job…but he’s TOXIC now, with his Baby Mama up in the Ritz Carlton, and him sneaking in after midnight to grab a little swerve on the side and see his latest pride and joy…! He couldn’t get elected as Vice President of Planned Parenthood!

The way things are going, Eww-Baaah-Maaah just may have to settle on Judas Iscariot, er, Bill Richardson…but I can’t see how that guy will help him much. He does have the foreign policy and executive experience, but he showed himself to be a traitorous asshole. People tend to remember craven duplicity and rank ambition, and they tend not to like it.

Of course, if McCain counters with an Hispanic VP too, that will neutralize the effect of Billy the Bearded Belly on the Latino vote. In fact, the right Hispanic on McCain’s ticket could shift some of those votes his way.

      • Fred C. Dobbs

        Like LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigoso?

OMG! I just found a letter from Michelle Obama in my gmail-inbox! BARF!

How’d these pricks get my email address?

    ******JL –

Barack likes to tell a story about the two of us standing backstage before his speech at the 2004 Democratic Convention.

The way he tells it, he was too busy in the days before the convention to feel any pressure — but about an hour before the speech, I could tell he was getting a little nervous.

To break the tension, right before he went out on stage I leaned in close and said, “Just don’t screw it up, buddy.”

We laughed. And then Barack brought the house down.

This year, the house is going to be a lot bigger. More than 75,000 people will be in Denver to be part of this important moment, and I want to tell you about an opportunity to join Barack backstage before his acceptance speech.

Ten supporters who make a donation in any amount by midnight this Thursday, July 31st, will be selected to fly to Denver, spend a couple of nights in a hotel, participate in the convention, and go Backstage with Barack. Each supporter who is selected will also get to bring a guest along to share the experience.

Make a contribution of $5 or more today and you could have your own Backstage with Barack story to tell:

    https://donate.barackobama.com/backstagednc

Barack’s speech at the convention will be a culmination of the unlikely journey that has brought all of us so far over the past 17 months.

He will call on us to come together and work for change — not just to win this election, but to make things better for all Americans.

Seeing it in person will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I’m excited about being there, and if you make a donation of $5 or more before the deadline, you could join Barack backstage:

    https://donate.barackobama.com/backstagednc

Thanks for everything you’ve done to get us here.

    • Shainzona

Oh, vomit. I got the same thing from Barry yesterday and had found myself hanging over the toilet after reading his bullshit.

AND, Bill Bradley is even being considered? Yup, change we can believe in…..

      • beebop

Okay. Bill Bradley? Sorry. He’s scum. I’d rather have four more years of cheney … okay maybe not cheney but Bradley is a jackass. …

    • Lou

This is just more words. Like when he promised the homeless a steak dinner if they went to vote for him. They brought the voting receipot back and never got their dinner.

Don’t fall for this contest. It is a sham just like the people behind it.

    • Shainzona

I “replied” to my letter from Michelle with “you and Barry can go Cheney yourselves…PUMA PRIDE AND POWER”…but it got returned as undeliverable.

I bet they turned off return mail on that one ’cause they were getting so many Puma replies!!!!

      • http://www.greensunshine.net jadwiga

Here is my reply, and it DID get delivered! Suggestion: start your letters with niceties.

        Dear Michelle,

Thank you for sharing your private moment with your husband in 2004. I am very thankful to you for ruining my appetite. I need to lose weight.
About meeting Mr. Obama backstage, it is an offer that I can resist.
About the donation, I will send the little money I have to Hillary Clinton.

I sure hope that Nemesis will catch up with you two and you do get what you deserve.

        Best wishes to your campaign.

        Sincerely,

        • imustprotest

I said, thanks but no thanks I’ll be in Denver but I’ll be in one of those cozy cages you all have arranged for all of us protesting this sham of a convention. I’ll say hi if I see you, I’ll be the one, one of 18 million, wearing the Hillary shirt.

          PUMA
          Hillary 08

      • Bye bye Obambi

Mine got in! Here it is.

        Michelle,
Leave me alone. He’s not the freakin’ nominee. Cripes, he’s not even the presumptive nominee. And even if the DNC selects him as the nominee, he’s still not a freakin’ rock star. He’s a freakin’ loser. Incompetent, inarticulate, narcissistic, and fascist. He’s the last person on the planet I would ever want to meet.

Hillary or McCain 08, because I’d like to have a President and First Lady who love America.

        • skepticle

I’m sure Obama is heartbroken that he can’t hang out with a real winner like you.

    • http://investigatebarackobama.wordpress.com/puma/ kat in your hat

Why include the “donate” links?? Blegh.

    • TeakWoodKite

Gmail is own by Google? BO just met with the CEO of Google. Google has maps that display the physical address and amount donated to a political party or a person. Don’t think Google is your friend in this instance.

They can look you up, hook you up, like your parked car in Midtown Manhatten, while your 40 floors up at the Dentist.

      • Lou

He’s been to Yahoo and Microsoft in WA also. It was a closed door meeting in February when all the threats and online attacks began.

      • Grail Guardian

Is Google selling the info to Obama? If they are, I’m never using their products again!

        • http://www.greensunshine.net jadwiga

What the HELL did you think the new FISA is for? An other step toward total control of the population. Bush started it and Obama happily continues the process.
Than, just think about his ‘private’ army since ‘we can’t rely on the regular american Army anymore’.
Don’t you see the writing on the wall?
The next will be to have to wear pro- or anti-Obama ID on our cloths. We might qualify for a yellow star.
This is what I can easily imagine if he does get elected President.

  • DancingOpossum

He’s stuck with Kaine, Bayh or Biden now. HAHAHAHA. Bayh and Biden — real “change” agents, “Washington outsiders,” right? And Kaine has even LESS experience than BO–and is even more right-wing (a real DINO). I really hope he picks Kaine so that his followers’ heads explode.

    • Lou

Kaine is NOT pro choice…good luck on that one.

    • katmandu

Kaine is terrible. As a diarist on the progressive blog RK put it:

Three years into the Kaine Administration, Virginia Progressives stand aghast at what it has become. From his repeal of the estate tax to his abandoned plan for universal Pre-K, to his opposition to embryonic stem cells, from his failed transportation plans to cozy relationship to Dominion Power and his reprehensible support of the Wise Coal Plant, the Kaine administration has fulfilled our every early fear and never failed to disappoint progressive Virginia. [cut] When Kaine eviscerates progressive taxation, champions a massive new coal plant, or works against the commonsense underground solution to the Rail to Dulles project, he isn’t just throwing the baby out with the bathwater, he’s lingering by the window to set fire to the drapes.

      http://www.raisingkaine.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=15132

I voted for Kaine. Never will do that again. If this is the judgment we can expect of Obama —

Here’s something someone spotted at Politico I believe. Kaine and his wife both went to Harvard Law, like BHO and MO, and Kaine’s mother was born in the same small Kansas town that Stanley Ann Dunham was born in.

      • beebop

Then, by all means, let us have Kaine. Fastest way to see his waning support cut in half! No way to parse this. Hillary was too centrist? REALLY?!!

    • TeakWoodKite

I can’t wait for Fienngold to publicly turn BO down.

  • Hope is the last to die

No one wants to be his vp knowing he’ll have to do all the work while Obama’s busy doing photo shoots and blaming others for his mistakes.

I’m scared he might actually offer Hillary the spot which she has no other choice but to accept if she wants the DNC support for her second run for presidency. But if elected, she’s the one who’ll be doing all the dirty work and taking the blame.

    • beebop

She has plenty of choices. She has seen others say no and she knows how to put her lips together and tell him to “go blow himself.” Okay. Not the exact quote from To Have and Have Not but we know who has and who has not … Hillary to you Oblowme.

      • csuzeq

Hillary has said more than once she is not actively seeking the VP spot. I am pretty sure she’d say no because she does want a chance in 2012. The dems cannot stop her from running. It’s about money and PUMAS will be ready to go in 2012!

        • csuzeq

Besides, by 2012, we will have all the riff raff out of the democratic party. They are gonna run scared with a bunch of wild pumas after them!

    • Clinton Fan

All she has to do is arrange for a non-life threatening and non-recurring medical issue to crop up–gee, I would love to, but I’ve got this gallbladder/ovarian cyst/appendicitis thing–I’ll be laid up for a month or so…the timing’s not good…

Run, Hillary, run…as far away from that ticket as you can manage!!

  • Jake

Potential VP picks know that they are going to have to do a lot of work if Obama is the POTUS. So they rather not.

    • Lou

Didn’t she insinuate that they’d have to pry her seat out of her cold dead hands and elect more women to office..man what a liar. She’s blocking all worthwhile bills until after the GE to make the supposed Dem Prez look good..I hope Cindy Sheehan beats her.

  • CAE

I am still surprised that Obama is even considering a running mate. The idea of Obama having a VP seems so strange given the fawning adulation the Flying Monkeys and the press shower on him.

Whaddya wanna bet he’s stalling for time while his minions try to figure out how he can run without a VP? The Flying Monkeys will turn themselves inside out trying to explain to us racist low-information voters how it would be the Most. Brilliantest. Political. Move. Evah.

    • BABALU123

Obama scared His own traitors. Were is traitor Richardson, the UNITER-stubber!!!

I think the real reason is that they are racists. They cannot bring themselves to serve under an African American.

    • ritamary

Oh, Freedom Fighter is back with us! Aren’t we lucky! All those politicians don’t want to be VP because they are RACISTS! What in insightful comment.

Here is another possibility. Could it be that they don’t want their political careers to go down with the shipwreck that is Obama? Why won’t anyone take one for the team?

      • Freedom Fighter

I think if you watch the news, by all accounts, this will be a slam dunk year for Obama. Any Democrat would jump at the chance to be VP. Seems to me, there can only be one explanation: race.

I for one am incensed that BOBO’s evangelic white half would wait until after the primaries to tell us he was expanding Bush’s faith program giveaways. I doubt even his black half would have supported the whole BOBO if it knew that.

Obama is not Afro-American, I dont think that He know who He is!! He hates whites, He does hates black people. He hates whites, Middle Class, all class, all He loves , is HIMSELF.

      • workingclass artist

How could he ?…..Obama still hasn’t resolved his SERIOUS CONFLICT WITH HIS INNER CRACKER…..First things First….chuckle….

  • TeaMug

BREMERTON, Wash. — Among the record number of voters expected to cast ballots this fall may be an increase from an often-invisible population — the homeless.

Advocacy groups and shelters across the country have stepped up efforts to register the 3.5 million people who drift in and out of homelessness in the United States.
“Just because we’re homeless or low income doesn’t mean we don’t have an opinion,” said Estelle Bearcub, who plans to vote for Barack Obama. “It’s our right to vote. And it’s our right to have our opinion count, too.”

I dread to think what is going to happen here, when Obama and his people gets hold of the homeless. Some of these homeless people will be, drug addicts, alcholics, mental health issues, depression and so on.

    • VMorris

The sheer thought of having OYoyo as POTUS sends me into a deep, deep depression…

    • csuzeq

I thought you had to have an address to register to vote? I’m not saying that they shouldn’t be allowed to vote, but I thought you had to prove what district you live in????

      • Mary Kay
      • TeaMug

yeah, that crossed my mind too, but also if someone is at his or hers lowest point in life. They would do anything or sign anything, say yes to anything, maybe for a good meal, shelter. Do you know what I am getting at. I am not explaining it well.

There is room for mega abuse here. Something is not right about this.

      • Hope Floats

Exactly. He’ll bus a bunch of people in from Illinois dressed like transients so he can game the GE like the caucuses. This is ILLEGAL.

        • TeaMug

Larry, Susan? This needs to be discussed and looked into.

    • Hope is the last to die

Every day I learn something a bit mire sickening about Obama and his campaign. Like I’ve always said, Obama is JUST like Putin. (Except the latter is intelligent)
      American elections = Russian elections

    • Lou

Thanks for posting that TeaMug. Fraudbama is doing a similiar campaign across the country only adding felons also. This is what is meant by the 57 50 state sweep?
Is this even legal to have voters who are out of their minds vote?

  • VMorris

CAE-Good point. Kings do not have “Vice” Kings. Only Pawns.

    Checkmate….

  • ritamary

Caroline Kennedy sounds like a great choice. Isn’t she a woman who lets her children tell her who to support for president? And she has even less political experience than Obama. Oh wait! She lived in the White House as a toddler. Does that count?

    • Lou

Her husband won’t let her. He’s jealous of the fact that she’s in the tank for Fraudbama.

    • Lou

Besides, Caroline already had her chance to live in the whitehouse…(like they said about Hillary)

    • gregg

get serious, that horseface hyprocrite would sink the fraud obama futher.

  • Susan Dougherty

When is this nightmare of a CHARADE gonna end? When Hillary gets the nomination! Yes! All the way back to Pennsylvania Ave!

  • Skiron

I still say the VP spot should go to Hillary!

    Rise Hillary RISE!!!

    • Ferdberfle

She won’t accept. Food taster kinda ruins the old resume.

  • Clara Barton

If Kaine is asked and accepts, he will leave the state of Virginia in a mess politically. He’ll turn over the office of governor to a very conservative Republican to serve one year. Just enough time to claim incumbency and win the Governor’s seat in 2009. This will affect legislation that comes in up the 2009 session, as well as redistricting in 2011.

But Barry really wants the state badly, and Kaine has been bootlicking for a year and a half now. Guess he doesn’t care much for the state if he is willing to go with Barry. That is, unless they lose.

  • PuppyDogMom

Say, has any other presumptuous nominee been rejected by so many potential vp’s before? This must be a record!

  • Katmoon

Heads up-My name was just hijacked on the Elitist Dean thread, just an FYI, in case this person goes nuts.

    • Lou

Oh for chrissakes-zombies are at it again.

      • Katmoon

I sent my IP to our tech side, with the marker of the hijacked post. This of course happened right after I decided to post at Huff, first time in forever.I know, I know.

  • Mary Kay

Bots are going to be canvassing my neighborhood on Saturday. My husband and I are thinking of inviting them in, listening, and then say at the end, “Obama sounds good. I think I’ll vote for him,” and as they are walking out the door… “Oh, wait, I just changed my mind.”

    HEHEHE

  • http://NeedtoKnow need to know

One of the pundits claim the ONLY way Obama will ask (beg) Hillary to be his VP would be if his numbers plummeted badly before the convention. Hope Hillary gives him the finger, then brushes the crap of her shoulders, when she refuses.

    • Lou

She has too much class to do that..maybe she could just cackle laugh and not stop. That would be great.

  • Faustina

In the transcript from Tom Brokaw’s interview of Obama on Meet the Press last Sunday, Obama talks about his VP selection. As usual, he was full of it. From what I remember, he said he wanted an independent person who would help him govern and with whom he could have a good working relationship.

Given those criteria, Obama’s rhetoric, and the big bucks behind Obama, it is very strange indeed that so many politicians are saying “no”.

My theory is that neither Obama or his VP would have any real power. Whoever is bankrolling Obama along with his Congressional sponsors will probably be the governing Politburo.

As for wanting an independent VP, how independent can someone be who will accept a preappointed Chief of Staff in the person of Patti Solis-Doyle. Or was the Obama campaign just saying that for fun of it.

And then maybe they all know Obama will be wiped out in the general election. In that case, this whole exercise is just an exceptionally vicious way to screw the Clintons and the rest of us along with them.

    • Lou

he said he wanted an independent person who would help him govern and with whom he could have a good working relationship.

MEchelle fits the above statement. OMG..say it isn’t so.

  • pat johnston

We have to stick together and vote anyone but Obama. I donated to the Clinton campaign so I’m waiting for my letter from Mo asking for unity and money. That will be the biggest mistake she ever made. I don’t like Obama but I detest her. What goes around comes around and for the hateful things she said about Hillary will smack her accross the face.

  • JS Ruby

I hope that if HRC is asked, she tells BO to stick the VP job where the sun don’t shine. I want her ready for 2012 or better yet 2008. There is still time.

  • Fred C. Dobbs

ANOTHER reason to vote ofr McCain:

The post-Shrubbie economy is gonna be dicey. I’d rather have Republicans in charge (TWELVE STRAIGHT YEARS!) when the wagon runs off the cliff.

    • Freedom Fighter

I can’t believe you’d vote for McCain, knowing he will wreck it, while Senator Obama has promised to fix the economy.

      • Karma

He couldn’t even buy his own house but suddenly he is a financial wizard?! LOL

How can Obama fix the economy when he claims he has NO intentions of resolving the deficit?

He wants to keep spending like drunken sailors. And if you look at Chicago, you would be a fool to think that money will make it to the people.

Nevermind the fact, that type of printing press spending actually increases inflation and prices through a devalued dollar.

  • PKJayne

I want to hear all the sorry tales November 5th when Barry loses how these spinless Dems knew all along Barry couldn’t hack it.

  • indypol

A-Listers (potential or rightful possible VP candidates, lots of name recognition and capital)

Sen. Hillary Clinton (NY) – Madame President will not touch this slow-motion trainwreck with a ten-foot pole

    Sen. Bill Nelson
    Sen. Joe Biden
    Sen. Evan Bayh
    Sen. Jim Webb

    Gov. Tim Kaine
    Gov. Jim Strickland
    Gov. Mark Warner
    Gov. Ed Rendell

    - Do you see a pattern emerging? Except for Kaine, all of these people are either Hillary supporters or uncommitted.

    B-Listers (limited name recognition)

    Sen. Chuck Hagel
    Sen. Sam Nunn
    Gov. Barbara Napolitano
    Gov Jeanne Shaheen
    Gov. Brian Schweitzer
    Gov. Kathleen Sebelius
    Gov. Jennifer Granholm
    Sen. Tom Bradley
    Sen. Chris Dodd

    - Granholm and Shaheen supported Hillary. Hagel, Dodd ,Sebelius, Bradley, Schweitzer supported Obama. Napolitano won’t piss of the McCain people in her own state, and Nunn is collecting Social Security. My guess is that Obama’s choice will come from this category. Or rather, someone from this category will choose him.

C-Listers (loose cannons, name recognition but no political judgement or capital)

    Gov. Bill Richardson
    Sen. John Edwards
    Gen. Wesley Clarke

    - These are the dregs. If Obama chooses one of these, McCain should start fitting the Oval Office for curtains immediately

    • Ferdberfle

He’ll probably take Richardson. Oblahblah does the fist thing and Richardson does the thumb thing. That would be a treat watching those two clowns getting emergency medical attention at the convention after greeting each other.

  • Lou

Fraudbama=The throw away candidate designed to kill any remnants of Rooseveltian Democracy..(Hillary)

When Jim Webb says “no” to something, you can be assured that he is not turning down his country. So he must feel in his heart that he is turning down something else. I would keep a close eye on this, Webb is a thoughtful patriot who has, and would still, put his life on the for us. If he is not willing to serve in the White House under an Obama administration, there is something seriously wrong with the prospect of such an administration.

I challenge anyone who has watched this video to tell me with a straight face that he or she was not moved to tears of joy. This one of those profound works of art that it should be require curriculum for all college students along with Senator Obama’s historic race speech.

    • gregg

oh gee, the tears are starting to roll down my face. i need a tissue. better yet, put this video in his resume. Lords knows he needs it.

    • Karma

Wow…you have a really low standard for art, historic speeches, and college curriculum.

I highly doubt Obama’s speech will ever hit the 100 greatest speeches lists.

Historic speeches require you not to play the race card against everyone in your path…and then whine about race relations that you have diminished with such actions.

    • PAT

I swear it did not move me to tears matter of fact I did not cry one.But only thought of his speech in denver and I thought of this video.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TViZKt-AX6E&feature=related

I had a movement right after I saw it. No tears of Joy or anything else since I discovered DulcoLax…

  • Sassy

You omitted Daschle from the C-list! I guess the trouncing by Hillary in South Dakota took a little of the shine off old Tom!

  • Ferdberfle

What happened to the maxim if asked to serve…?

    It depends on the following:

    1. Who is being served
    2. What is being served

    The “who” is an asshat.
The “what” is babysitting the Provocateur in Chief

  • anona

One thing I wonder: in elections past has there ever been as many people pro-actively taking their names out of consideration?

I just don’t think I’ve ever heard of anyone doing this before, let alone so many! Doesn’t look so good for Messiah.

    • Ferdberfle

He may have to ask for volunteers. Hope he likes the sound of crickets.

  • Sam

I can’t in good conscious vote for a man that reeks of corruption. I am young person who hasn’t been swilling BoBo’s kool-aid. Go Pumas!

  • Andy Lewis

It’s as if he had BO, haw haw haw.

  • gregg

its becoming clear that even Democrats don’t want obami. This man just ruined the Dem Party. If they are smart they would say NOBAMA. Go hillary, i still think you will win the nomination. HILLARY 2008

  • Donna Brazile

    I’d like to add a D-list:

    Francis
    Kellie
    Ted
    Lap Dog
    Freedom Fighter
    Believe
    Rooncie
    BooBoo
    SfHillary
    BillandHillaryNowforObama

Any of these trolls would make an EXCELLENT choice for VP.

My apologies for all the trolls I missed. Feel free to add any I missed.

    Stop the hate!

    • Fred C. Dobbs

      You forgot, “Beth.”

  • Karma

Has there ever been a presumptive Pres nominee that has been turn down this much?

Like you said…most of us have grown up on that maxim…’If asked to serve…’

  • HillGirl

Is it possible that they will all continue to decline the offer – as if to say they are standing for by stepping aside for Hillary?

    • no waffles aka drkate

yes, and we’ll then see that obama would rather lose than have HRC. His ego too huge; he knows he is of lesser caliber. And she won’t accept the offer.

  • Annagain

So Edwards is out, too, obviously.

Let’s not forget that he decided to throw Wes Clark under the bus, also.

  • YONOBAMA

My 27 yr old daughter called at midnight to express her disgust at having received the come on e-mail
from meme. She was an active Dem. for Kerry in ’04
and is now horrified by the Obamination usurpation
occupation campaign. “How in the hell did they get
my e-address?!!!!! now I can’t sleep.” She regrets
having knocked for Kerry, and is now PUMA Pissed.
She is cutting off association with NARAL & former friends who have kool-aide stains where once there were brains. Do not doubt that the kids are alright.
