A READER WRITES:

You may not have to wait until 2012. Obama is imploding so fast that by convention time Dems will be running to Hillary screaming “Save us! Save us!”

I have already written Senator Nelson (I live in Florida), a Hillary supporter, to make sure her name is put in nomination. Above all, this is where our efforts now ought to be: getting commitments from the DNC and super delegates that her name be placed in nomination. If that I happens, I believe, she will win.

I spent many years in NY politics and I know many of the players. At this point, they are looking for a way out. We have to keep the heat on to give them room to maneuver.

The piece the other day on payoffs to super delegates by Obama was perfect. The more people see him for what he is, fewer will support him.

Obama’s Intrade odds are dropping. The Daily Gallup today showed McCain and Obama one point apart. By the convention McCain will be leading and if done right, the delegates will turn to Hillary.

You and Larry and all your posters have done a remarkable job. Very well done.

Do not give up hope. Take the fight to the Obamabots. We will win.

All the best,

It’s August, it’s time. Hillary in Denver. Democratic victory this November. Nothing less.

How can anyone fail to notice that the McCain ad comparing Obama to empty headed celebs or the snazzy car with nothing under the hood is exactly right on.

He won’t debate because he has nothing to say; no plan; no platform. He goes around depending on his accusatory speeches, whining and playing the martyr. Not attractive. Even his pal Roland Martin said he’s making a mistake and may have boxed himself in with no out.

    Not too bright after all.

  • Marie

I heard on CNN today that Hillary has decided not to allow her name to be put into nomination at the convention. Is that true? It was just a passing comment from one of the talking heads at the same time they were discussing her prime time speaking spot but he definitely said, “She has decided not to allow her name to be put into nomination”.

  • sfhillary

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t written much this week, I’ve been on vacation. So, Obama is “imploding,” huh? Good to see the PUMA spirit hasn’t died (yet).

  • http://www.logisticsmonster.blogspot.com/ DiamondTiger

When it comes to “talking heads” saying something about Hillary, I always wait until for Hillary to say it herself. Ignore them.

This is a great letter and tracking right where most people are. Gumby is laughable and people need to start laughing at him and his “I Am The One” bs.

I just keep letting the SDs know how his numbers are tanking, and guess what, he’s trying to buy support now – i.e. Ybarra and the $20 million. He’s done! Get ready for Hillary. We still have 4 weeks of f**kups to live through…hopefully it will be even more laughable than inflating tires and tuneups.

The SDs will be jumping ship like rats….

Obama, no matter what games YOU play YOU will not win in November. YOU attacked Hillary and a whole lot of us took your attacks personally. We do not trust you because you have NO respect for others, you have no empathy and YOU are like a bazillion other guys who get ahead because of your penis.

Perhaps Hillary is so disgusted that she wants the Democrats to be hoisted on their own bHo petard. At this point it might be better to wait until 2012 given the mess that the next President will inherit. And although we are doing well in Iraq, and we may be able to do the right thing by the Iraqi people, I think it will be difficult to extricate ourselves. With the hatred of Islamists which was firey hot against the U.S. (democracy, freedom of religion, equality of women, etc.) from a long time ago, the leaving (including Afghanistan) will be very, very tricky. She might want to wait it out from her Senate perch and plan a better campaign strategy next time. In addition, it might not be so great for her to become MCCain’s opponent all of a sudden at the end of August when he has been the one left fighting the good fight against bHo.

  • sfhillary

You have got to be kidding. Go to Pollster.com, Politico, fivethirtyeight, Rasmussen, Pew National, HuffPost, whatever. Check any of the swing state aggregates, trend trackers. Look at freaking anything. What is wrong with you? Why do you insist on living, like a child, in a fantasy world in which you are free to assert, without any evidence in favor and with enormous evidence to the contrary, that Obama is slipping when in fact for about the last ten days he has been rising?

  • http://www.logisticsmonster.blogspot.com/ DiamondTiger

he has lost 9 point in 4 days….I would call that “tanking”.

  • sfhillary

Danny, don’t expect rationality here. The truth is, Obama started dropping around the 4th of July and had fallen into more or less a tie with McCain when he began his international trip. That trip has been a huge success and he is now rising again and has around a 4 point national lead in aggregate national data and a commanding electoral vote lead in state-by-states. He is leading in Ohio, PA, Colorado, Michigan, Wisconsin, maybe even in Florida. He has gone from 25 down in Kentucky to perhaps 10 down, a striking change which suggests that some of the people who have moved over to Obama in the past couple weeks might be the fabled “bitter” lower-middle-class whites who supposedly would never vote for him.

This is reality, folks. You can laugh at me, call me names, ignore me, whatever, that’s your privilege. But it’s reality: Obama is moving into a real lead again. That could change starting tomorrow, so I encourage all you McCain Republicans to keep flinging as much dirt at Obama as you can, because your candidate is laughably bad so negative stories are your only chance against Obama.

Eh, that joke was old months ago. What’s amusing is how you guys don’t even realize how in your constant dull sniping that anyone who supports Obama (which is to say, roughly 50% of all adult Americans) is on his payroll simply reinforces, even in your own feeble minds, this mythology about his all-pervading influence and power. It never really occurred to me until just now how much you poor PUMAs have built the man up in your minds. Such wealth! Such influence! Everyone on his payroll. Sending his spies everywhere, especially to spy on his enemies. Controlling the media. Intimidating his rivals with his robotic forces. Sweeping around the world making everyone think he is already a global ruler. It’s so damn funny; in a way, you PUMAs are Obama’s biggest fans.

The Story of A Young DNC Volunteer Knocking On My Mom’s Door Today.

I just got a call from my mom tonight telling me her story of her encounter with a young man that knocked on her door today working for the DNC. He certainly did not know what was coming when he came to her door. She saw his DNC shirt, and started to lay into him about how the Democratic Party leaders have totally destroyed the Party, and completely rigged the election for Obama, and she would never give him a dime.

Once she noticed the fear in the young man’s eyes, she stepped back and invited him in for some water. She asked him how he got the job, and how it was going and did he know what happened in this election? He said he had worked only three days, and that he would get a percentage of everything he raised from the grass roots. She then asked how he was doing. “Terrible”, he said. She then asked, if the DNC trained him and informed him what he would be facing going door to door. He said, “no they did not”.

So she let him know about the voter fraud in the caucuses, the dis-enfranchisment of Michigan and Florida, the stealing of votes at the RBC meeting, the buying of super delegates, and the rigging of the election by the Party Leaders. She said she was a life long Democrat who was Jerry Brown’s campaign manager when he ran for Governor in the 70s, and for the first time in her life she would be voting for a Republican because of what Dean, Pelosi, and Brazille had done to the Party. She told him about Obama’s relationship with Rezko and Ayers, and the corrupt Chicago machine, and that Obama bought and threatened many super delegates with their lives if they did not back him.

This poor young man got an education. She felt bad for him, and encouraged him that it was great that he was working on a grass roots campaign, and that it was important for young people to be involved, but he needs to educate himself on what he is selling before agreeing to the job. She then said, “Honey you need to make sure you pick the right movement.” He agreed.

He said that the DNC did not tell him anything, and after three days of working and raising no money and getting yelled at that he is done, and quitting tonight. He said he is going to take a job at Walmart instead. With a turkey sandwich, two bottles of water, and an apple in hand the young DNC volunteer from UC Santa Cruz left my mom’s home awakened by the truth, and completely dismayed. He then promised my mom as he left that he would tell the DNC exactly how she felt right before he quits.

  • andySF

I am dying to ask, what do you drive?

  • meileen

I agree. Inasmuch as I would love to see Hillary come in and save the day, at this point, after all that has occurred, Congress will oppose her at every turn.

Sad to say it, but 2012 might just be the better place for her.

  • sfhillary

Hmm, well, I do take most 3-day tracking polls seriously so I must acknowledge that you have a legitimate point: taking a closer look, I see that both Gallup and Rasmussen show Obama’s lead over McCain narrowing a bit over the past few days; as I wrote above, I really have been on vacation so I am a couple days behind in really studying the numbers. It looks like the biggest bounce from his overseas trip has faded a bit and they are, at least for the moment, quite close again in the national numbers.

However, I also know that he is still significantly leading in electoral calculators, which is far more important, both today and on Election Day, than the national numbers. And I’ll tell you one more thing: what a political professional sees when he or she looks at the Gallup or Rasmussen tracking numbers (and please trust me when I say I know what I am talking about here in reporting how the pros see these things) is that John McCain has never led Obama on a single day in either of these polls, going back weeks. Obama’s lead has fluctuated fairly steadily from 7-8 points to a near tie, depending on the favorability of the news cycle, but McCain has never been in the lead. Not by even a single point.

Given this basic fact, any talk of a McCain landslide, Obama collapsing, etc., is simple delusion. Obama has been the overall favorite to win this election since he won Iowa during the primaries, and he remains such today.

  • Ben David

HRC will be asked to save Obama’s ass if the dems are to win this election and to do so would be to place her as the VP. In a head to head matchup on a Fox poll, Obama was 1 point over McCain, but when you added Obama/Clinton vs McCain/Rommey the lead rises to 9 points.
Yes, the dems wanted so much to run Obama and the idea of Obama. We are stuck with this one trick pony and instead of Obama waiting for his turn he decided he wanted to jump in now. Well now is coming pretty damn fast and we will be losers once again. The only way to salvage this is to place HRC’s name in nomination and go from there.

  • sfhillary

On a personal note, and speaking again as a professional with a fairly high degree of insight into political and individual psychology, I can’t help but observe that a guy who calls himself “Tiger” and calls someone he doesn’t know “silly little one” in all likelihood has significant male confidence problems.

  • http://www.law.indiana.edu/uslawdocs/declaration.html Hillary’sSimplytheBest

    Hillary 08

No VP, she’s earned the TOP ticket spot!!!

  • sfhillary

Hi Wild. Do you mean in PUMAland or in reality? In PUMAland Obama has never led, he has always been collapsing and the super-delegates were only days away from realizing this and shifting their support to Hillary. In reality, his support probably peaked in late June at 7 to 10 points nationally. At his lowest point in early to mid July, they were essentially tied. Now, on average, Obama’s leading by 3 or 4.

  • judd

A confirmed ditto on that email

  • sfhillary

That’s because you don’t understand statistics. You’re looking at the single most favorable tracking poll and the single most favorable four-day period and basing your assessment on that one extremely limited data set. Someone who knows what the hell they’re talking about, by contrast, looks at charts that average a whole bunch of different polls, understanding that aggregate figures constitute far more accurate representations of reality. The Super Tracker at fivethirtyeight.com, for instance (it’s halfway down on the right), is a chart that really shows you what has happened over he past month: a significant Obama lead, a big Obama drop, a steadying, now a small but steady Obama rise. Check it out. Here on NQ you can bluster all you want and most people won’t mind, but if you really want to learn about this subject, read fivethirtyeight.com and study Nate Silver’s numbers. He’s the best.

  • Gatologico

All thtat matters is the results after Nov. 4. See you there!

  • Hope Floats

Obama’s nat’l avg according to RCP is a 2.9 pt. lead. That’s it. While his favorability is + 3.2 pts. McCain is still ahead in MO and FL, and he pulled ahead in CO and OH, while he is closing in on MI and NV. But if you prefer your version of reality, then skip along to Huff Po. I am sure you’ll feel right at home. No one missed you here.

  • Hope Floats

There must not have been gravity wherever he went.

  • Danny B

Yes, plummeting and tanking are the same. But those words don’t describe Obama’s poll numbers. Maybe they do, if you’re cherry picking individual results. But it’s vastly more useful to look at multiple results over multiple days. Try the RealClearPolitics tracker (which isn’t ideal, since their oddly selective about which polls they include): http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html

It’s true, the lead has diminished since late June. Fortunately, winning by 2.9 points is still winning.

  • Hope Floats

Oh, well in reality, Obama has never broke 50% in the polls, even when he was supposed to have that bounce.

  • elise

She’s been on vacation. Obviously, forgot to take her Blueberry.

Wow, sfhilary, I hope you have more than a political icon to remember once you realize that all politicians are shit, including Obama and Hillary. Whose shit smells the sweetest? Depends on whose nose you’re using.

  • elise

Hillary can win against McCain. Too bad the SDs have bought into the DNC’s plan. I heard Rep. Wexler(D) Fl. doesn’t really live in Florida. Is there any chance he can be defeated?

  • Danny B

I was with you through MO and FL. But pulled ahead in CO and OH? Not according to fivethirtyeight.com, pollster.com, realclearpolitics.com, electoral-vote.com… Yes, there was the first lead for in in CO of the whole year, but I thought you were using averages.

Closing in on MI and NV? McCain has been ahead in NV for a while. MI? I don’t see it. Like the national numbers– the lead isn’t as big as it was June, but it’s definitely still a lead. (see all those sites above).

You also didn’t mention IA, IN, MT, or VA– all states Bush won in 2004 where Obama has been ahead.

At any rate, winning Kerry states + IA, CO, NM gives Obama 276 electoral votes. I prefer that version of reality.

About Hillary speaking at the Dem convention — seems like the slimy weasel mongoose Obama has figured out a way to dilute Hillary — drown her OUT.

The message that snObama will be delivering to women is to USE women.

Hillary will be WITH 16 OTHER women Senators on “equality day”.

So instead of Hillary being the candidate who won 18 million votes — the most ever for any Primary candidate — never mind little ladies — 16 of you female types, odd balls in the Senate where males rule — you females can have — a few minutes each — and we’ll put Clinton somewhere.

    http://guerillawomentn.blogspot.com/

Tennessee Guerilla Women is where this is covered — second article down. Most of the comments also get the effort to dilute Hillary’s appearance at the convention. Two of the women Senators are from my state and they cannot hold a candle to Clinton, plus they are very good speakers. I hope Hillary is wearing body armor — to stop all the knives in her back.

I won’t be watching — so I could care less. An over exposure to all things Obama brings on projectile vomiting.

    PUMA

  • Zee

    “equality day”

Doesn’t it remind you of “Free Speech Zone?”

As if there are only certain days women get “equal” time and only some roped off areas where the 1st Amendment is tolerated?

  • JohninCA

Spin it one way and Mr O is the favorite. The other way is to ask why McCain is so close in such a terrible electoral climate for Republicans.

Traditionally campaigns don’t even begin until Labor Day. I concede Obama has a small lead, 2 to 3 points in daily tracking, 2.9 RCP average. If July leads are so significant, how came we aren’t talking about the Dukakis and Kerry administrations?

  • Idiocracy08

Thirty percent (30%) of conservative Democrats say they’re voting for John McCain. Rasmussen Reports data also shows the Republican hopeful picking up support from 19% of White Democrats and 15% of Democrats over the age of 50. These results are from national telephone survey interviews conducted with 14,000 Likely Voters during the two weeks ending July 24. The sample includes 5,074 Democratic voters

if you know so much about statistics, you should also see that McCain has been leading by a large margin on who would make the better president; who would do better with Iraq; who people trust more.

This is what most people think of when they go to vote: who do I trust more to be a better president. Not who is ahead of MSM’s polls.

  • RunningDogLackey

    Hillary is being “threatened”?

Obama won because of his penis?

Are you nuts? You DEFINITELY have issues.

  • Clinton Fan

I was in the supermarket this evening…the tabloids aren’t loving him either. Now, I don’t put my faith in the tabloids (though the ENQUIRER is the “best” of the lot) but they are a measure of public opinion in that they target celebrities who, for whatever reason–political, personality-driven, or something else–are ripe for public vilification.

Obama got more than one front page. Both he and his wife are getting only a half measure of what President and Senator Clinton had to endure, but even at that, it’s amusing to note–I expect to hear screams, howls and whines from The Faithful at any moment, rivalling the dudgeon of the Danish Cartoon protesters! Between “Michelle’s rampages” (accompanied by the obligato picture of the woman with bared teeth and a furious expression) and rumors of a secret “love child” and a former girlfriend from Russia, well, the hits just keep on a-coming!

He may be able to control the MSM, but the tabloids, plainly, didn’t get the memo.

I couldn’t help but notice that many people in line were picking up the papers and swiftly turning to the pertinent story….they didn’t buy, most of them, but they DID read. By the time I got to the rack, the papers just fell open to the pages of interest! And yes, I looked…and laughed.

He was a US senator. He went as a rep of the US. How can he involve himself in Kenya’s election and not be in jail?
    http://obama.senate.gov/news/060710-obama_trip_to_h/

it does sound like a violation of the Logan Act, because i doubt very seriously that he was given clearance to go campaign for someone like Odinga in Kenya’s election. It clearly states the purpose of his trip

designed to highlight the importance of the continent to the United States and the rest of the world.

Obama’s itinerary for two weeks of travel starting mid-August includes stops in South Africa, Kenya, Sudan and possibly Congo — holding the first elections in four decades later this month — and Djibouti.

Robert Gibbs, Obama’s spokesman, said the purpose of the trip is to underscore that the fate of African nations has an effect on the United States and other nations “especially when it comes to stable governments, terrorism, energy security and humanitarian crises such as genocide and AIDS.

“The trip, we also hope, will help further establish and improve on important relationships the United States has with two of the continent’s largest countries in South Africa and Kenya, underscore the importance of the biggest election ever organized by the United Nations by visiting Congo, visiting troops stationed in Djibouti to combat international terrorists in the region and finally seeing what can be done about the genocide in Africa’s largest country, Sudan.”

Obama plans meetings with government officials and speeches in Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa. The trip starts in Cape Town at Robben Island, the infamous prison where Nelson Mandela was jailed during the apartheid years. The Congo and Djibouti visits will be brief because of security issues. Sudan, grappling with the ongoing conflict in the western region of Darfur, will be the last stop.

It says he’s going to Kenya, and mentions the elctions in Congo – doesn’t talk about the Kenya elections.

Hillary has asked not to be nominated.

Hillary Clinton asks not to be nominated at Democratic National Convention
    By Michael Saul
    Daily News Political Correspondent

    Thursday, July 31st 2008, 10:35 PM

    Sakuma/AP

Petitions abound, but Hillary Clinton won’t put in for a nomination, insiders say.
Hillary Clinton has decided against being nominated for President at the Democrats’ Denver convention, but many of her more die-hard partisans may vote for her anyway.

A source close to the New York senator confirmed she won’t file a formal request to the convention asking to be nominated along with Barack Obama, who eked out the victory in their fierce primary slugfest.

“She is not going to submit the signed request,” the insider told the Daily News. “People are still circulating petitions on her behalf, but this is a done deal.”

From the New York Daily News:

You mean Obama doesn’t have a penis?

    Alert the media!

Obama’s number of states have gone up? How many are there now 60? 70?

According to Larry Sinclair (who has seen it), his penis isn’t that big of a deal

  • http://purplechiten.wordpress.com/ Chiten

She’s not forcing the issue becuase they would accuse her of “stealing the nomination”. If someone puts it in anyway, and she wins, then it’s the “will of the people”.

    What “source?”

For “sfhillary,” “danny” and others who spend their time here with paragraph after paragraph of soaring rhetoric, pointing out the inevitability of BO:

See, very few in here really care what you have to say. Let me run it down for you:

Obama, male model, is going down and will never work in this town again
His swinish agent, Axelrod, is going down
    Howard Dean is going down
    Donna Brazile is going down
The corrupt DNC is going down
Any Dem Pol who fucked over HRC or Bill is going down
The Dem. HQ Bldg in Chicago will be burned to the ground
All their files and roladexes will be steamrollered and blowtorched
The rotten remains of the Dem. Party will be smashed, crushed, pulverized and defecated on, and the ashes will be vomited on and dragged through the streets with long chains

Then we’ll start over with a clean slate around the First of the Year, 2009.

But please, keep posting if you like, that’s why we have “scroll down” buttons The higher the number of “comments,” the more important you make us.

no, it’s roughly 50% of democrats and falling. You see, there are two parties. If half of one party and all of another party vote AGAINST Obama, that means he loses 3 to 1. It’s called M A T H. A new-fangled invention that’s been around for a few years (like, since the dawn of time)

  • beebop

I’m trying to keep them straight because their stories are so HILLarious … is he the IT magnet with the multi million dollar home on the “west coast?” Or is he the “pretend” worker from the Oblewit campaign who said that “Dave” walked by his desk at campaign headquarters during the Oblewit Fantasy Tour in Europe and the Middle East?

  • cdo

So, no real bounce after the European Vacation…wow, bummer. Then there’s the VP pick…that seems to be going so well. Raise your hand if you expect Obama to come off shiny and spiffy after the convention and the party united…(crickets).

I know Obama supporters don’t want to acknowledge the insanely obvious but their guy is kind of in a bad spot. See, McCain hasn’t really started campaigning yet. The Republicans had such a poor field that McCain basically showed up and got his nomination.

But here is Obama, having spent months front and center in the public eye, and he is within the MOE? Combine the fawning free coverage with his massive ad buys and this is the best numbers he has? Frankly, yes, I’d say he is doing pretty badly against a candidate no one is really talking about.

IMO Obama’s situation doesn’t get better than what it is right now. He has every single advantage, he should have a significant lead. The fact that he doesn’t tells me what a genuinely weak candidate he is. Obama’s supporters don’t want to acknowledge the facts. Not my job to set them straight.

Deluding yourself into thinking that November is a done deal is a sure way to lose the White House. Frankly, it is what people like myself are hoping for. I absolutely love to hear Obama supporters wax poetic about hope and change! Tell me more about how The One will heal my soul, please!

What a bunch of short-sighted idiots. Going to websites where they should be trying to sway people like myself, and instead all they offer is a daily smattering of insults. Way to build a coalition! Helluva strategy! You are sure to beat McCain with moves like that! But I’m curious, do you guys call people racists when you phone bank? I wouldn’t recommend the name calling when you door-to-door however, without universal health coverage that’s taking quite a risk.

  • stateofdisbelief

Can we write up a petition to send to her letting her know how much we WANT her to allow her name into nomination? This would give her the evidence she needs to say to the DNC, “look, if we don’t do this we’ll lose this many voters in Nov.”

If Will B. is right and there are at least 2.5 million members of the JustSayNoDeal coalition, we can put something together that is impressive. All three of us here at my house would gladly sign.

Who can take the lead on this??? Will Bower? Help – time is running out.

  • Mr. X

That’s delusional. The only polls that show that are Quinn and PPP. Those polls suck because they’re always skewed toward Obama. And the reputable ones haven’t done polls in over a week in the states you mention.

Obama won’t take OH, FL and CO. You can get that out of your mind right now.

  • stateofdisbelief

We need a more effective way of getting the truth out to the public. The MSM is certainly not doing it. It is amazing how many people are unaware of such important facts as:
    1) Stagecraft in Oregon – the rock band that REALLY drew the crowd
    2) Stagecraft in Germany – the TWO rock bands, beer and brats that REALLY drew the crowd
    3) Issues with his birth, birth certificate and eligibility
    4) The “race” memo from early ’08.
    Etc., etc., etc.
I can only get this out to one person at a time and it works EVERY time to change their mind about him (I only do it with semi-rational people. Anyone with a kook-aid mustache are disregarded.)

There’s got to be a way to do it on a larger scale.

  • stateofdisbelief

And also the “5″ state pledge and how the anticipated “pro-Oblahma” states were NOT punished, but the pro-Hillary states were.

There are people out there still unaware that the DNC rules FORBID awarding uncommitted delegates! or that Oballess was awarded 4 of Hillary’s earned delegates.

  • http://therealistblogs.blogspot.com/ troy m

that will change when he picks anyone but Hillary for VP.

  • Katmoon

I have a question, it’s driving me nuts this morning. It is my understanding that Senator Clinton’s debt is paid off. The why is the Obama campaign still using this as a fundraiser?

  • beebop

    Someone on fivethirtyeight

Did you mean the in the 58 states that Oblowing it refers to? Maybe there’s the problem. We only count numbers from the 50 states that are actually polled and not the mythical places in his head.

  • stateofdisbelief

uh…you’re hanging your hat on 7 measly Electoral votes as a “guarantee”???

Look…here’s reality. All of this ‘faux’ tender treatment of the Chosen One will end abruptly following the National Convention. I know that most of you Obots are barely out of diapers and have no way of understanding how elections work, but the republicans have perfected the art of presidential politics. Congressional politics are much more difficult to manage based on the multitude of locations, cultures and demographics, but this one will be a no-brainer for the Rovian machines in place.

Please, those of you college OBOTs, go research Watergate AND LEARN SOMETHING. Maybe you’ll realize those of us that promoted and still promote the vetted, qualified and experienced candidate were/are RIGHT!

  • beebop

If this is a “play as you pay” election, Oblowingit’s fundraising isn’t going to allow him to keep funding his support. Any day now …

Don’t eat the yellow snow. And in your analyses please factor in the undecideds and the margin of error. BO is slowly sinking. The only reason he’s stayed above +3 or less is that his favorable pollsters such as NBC, QP, and CNN somehow always manage to have a differential twice what others do. In the range of polls on RCP, for instance, you can see they are extremes now. Not quite outliers (more than 4 SD from the mean), but they are a little suspicious.

I don’t want to see Hillary play second fiddle to Obama. Even if she gets the VP nod, I cannot and will not vote for Obama. I would rather see her wait until 2012 and kick butt. I will vote for McCain to keep Obama out of the White House and if I lived in Ill I would vote to force him to lose his Senate seat.

  • Sassy

We certainly know that Senator Clinton is super smart! She may realize that putting her name into nomination will only sharpen the divisions in the party. I am through with the dems…but she is entitled to her allegiance ,if she chooses that. Nothing can save this party now…the “O” will ruin this country…win, lose, or draw!

  • No for O

God Bless your mother for taking the time.

  • Postmaster

    Katmoon,

I was wondering the same thing. In yesterday’s newspaper, the Roswell Daily Record (New Mexico) there is an article that Hillary will be at 2 fund-raising events with Bill Richardson on August 17th. The purpose is to raise money to pay off her debt. The events are invitation only to be held in Albuquereque and Santa Fe. I couldn’t believe Hillary would show up with the turn coat traitor who not only flipped on her but on the people of New Mexico. I thought I had read or heard that the debt had been paid already?

  • Watchoveramerica

Larry Sinclair is definitely not a source that any reputable Democrat would want to be associated with. Hillary Clinton would not want to win if a maggot such as Sinclair were the reason, To set the story straight he HAS NOT SEEN OBAMAs anything.
No one detests Obama more than me but to quote Larry Sinclair as a source of anything except criminal activity is totally stupid.

You live in a fantasy world, he is not rising, he is going down every down. McCain is ahead in Gallup-USA today by 4 points and tied up in most every other poll except the most biased, skewed CNN poll.

    Troll comment.

Who cares if you are “done” with the dems — you obviously never were a dem and we won’t be relying on you to take back the party.

It is a long shot that Obama will implode in time for Hillary to step in. But it is something devoutly to be wished, and if it doesn’t happen, voting for McCain is a PROTEST vote, not a way of life.

  • Zee

omg….it is almost funny to watch all the Obots whine about McCain’s “low road.”

Obama’s camp and friends calling Hillary a bitch and whore was a-ok by them, but comparing Obama to celebs Britney Spears and Paris Hilton are having them howl to high heavens about McCain’s “low road!!!”

Hillary Clinton asks not to be nominated at Democratic National Convention

A source close to the New York senator confirmed she won’t file a formal request to the convention asking to be nominated along with Barack Obama, who eked out the victory in their fierce primary slugfest.

“She is not going to submit the signed request,” the insider told the Daily News. “People are still circulating petitions on her behalf, but this is a done deal.”

Party rules stipulate that Clinton must ask in writing to be nominated herself and also submit a petition signed by 300 to 600 delegates. Without her signed request, petitions of support are meaningless.

Her nomination would be window dressing because Obama’s nomination is assured.

Nevertheless, delegates can vote for whomever they want during the roll call of the states. Personally and through surrogates, Clinton has counseled her 1,886 delegates to vote for Obama. A source familiar with discussions inside the Clinton camp told The News she may release those delegates when she speaks to the convention on Aug. 26.

You know Obama is in trouble if you listened to David Gergen last night on 360 Anderson Cooper show. As a CNN contributor during the primaries, Gergen was SO pro-Obama. Last night he voiced big time conern about Obama’s poor numbers so far and his playing the race-card. He outright told the Obama Camp that they need to take a fresh look at Hillary being on the ticket if they want to win in Nov.

“The vetted, qualified and experienced candidate?” You were a Richardson supporter?

And no, I’m not counting on those votes as a guarantee. That’s why Obama is also actively campaigning in FL, IN, MT, VA, NC, GA, WV, NV, and OH. So while I think those 276 votes are relatively safe, I also think the total is more likely to be close to 310.

Unfortunately, you’re probably right about a change in tone after the conventions. Who knows what lines of attack the RNC will decide to use. But Obama has been getting attacked for months and nothing has stuck (if you follow the polls, that is– according to this blog everything has stuck and his demise is imminent).

The overwhelming majority of the superdelegates are elected officials. They understand votes and money. Write all of your local superdelegates to inform them that you will not be voting for them in the next election due to their support for Obama. Then make it clear that you will vote a straight Republican ticket in all upcoming elections to punish the DNC for their selection of an unqualified candidate. Finally, let them know that you will be donating to the McCain campaign. Once they cannot get votes or money from Obama’s coattails, Obama’s support will erode.

It does no good to put Hillary’s name into nomination if the superdelegates still vote for Obama. Make them understand Obama will not get enough votes and they will be denied what they most want (money and votes) if they support him. Remind them they need a massive infusion of new voters just to substitute for the MILLIONS of Democrats that have pledged not to vote Obama.
