Images of Christmas

I’m waiting for a buddy of mine to stop by and pick up tickets for the Redskins/Cowboys football game Sunday night. I’m boycotting the Redskins but that’s another story for another day. My friend is Hindu. He’s a physician. I originally had invited him over for Christmas day but he informed me that he would be celebrating Christmas with his family.

Now that surprised me a bit. “How” I asked “does a Hindu celebrate Christmas?” Srini informed me that his family adopted the tradition when they came to the states and have made it a family holiday ever since. So I am cognizant that many readers of this blog are not Christian but may still celebrate Christmas in some form or fashion without believing in Jesus.

With this in mind I offer you the following images of the Johnson family Christmas:

    Frontgate.  It is an artificial tree.  We’re done cutting down live trees.  Too messy, too dangerous.  I refuse to hang Tenet on the tree.  Just like I wouldn’t hang a Mao ornament.  :}

    I am done too cutting down living beings. We even re-wired our fake tree with led lights. A small act of going green.

    Wow, Larry.  What a stunning tree and so beautifully decorated.  Did you pick out the tree?  I detect delicious aromas too — is that your kitchen? — i am wandering towards there hoping to get a plate full of your and your wife’s incredible cooking.

    My turkey is in the brine, and the apple cobbler is out of the oven.  Tonight, later, i’ll wrap the turkey in its cheesecloth swaddling and let it marinate overnight in its juices, and pop it in the oven first thing tomorrow.  Cannot wait.
