Humping for Votes

WEBRockvote_edited-2

[Update: Several commenters thought this was not for real. One would hope. But it was commissioned by the actual Rock the Vote organization. The response has not been favorable, and the resulting lame excuse flops. Expect the ad to be scrubbed from the RTV site.]

If there’s one thing our country does not need, it’s telling young people how to seduce other young people into voting certain ways in exchange for getting laid. But, that’s exactly what Rock the Vote, a non-profit group that boasts a major impact on the 2008 elections, is currently promoting.

See for yourself.

I like to believe that there are enough young people out there who find this campaign laughable, insulting, and more than a little sexist. I mean, to hell with just the facts. You need to add in “two hot Colombian chicks” to grind a message into the dense heads of horny 20-somethings.

If this sort of ploy works, in concert with other hope/change smoke-and- mirror gimmicks that dominated campaigns in 2008, we will continue to get exactly the kind of government we deserve.

  • Sonic Ninja Kitty

BWAHAHA!!  Go ahead and pledge yourselves to government, kiddies:  you are certainly not capable of logical, independent thought!

  • HARP

Either way, they are getting screwed.

  • Alex

I cannot believe that grown men and women would participate in such a crappy ad. It is juvenile-except youths (real youth 16 and down) would have come up with something better. It is foolish, self-centered-why are they acting like they are babies and no one else counts? Muy horrible y offensive! These are adults pretending as if they are teenaged men and women! Ineffective and insipid. I have to write public service announcements for one of my classes-and this one would get an F!

  • Obamastolemycountry

I heard about this the other day, but hadn’t seen it.  Thanks for posting!  Everyone should see this disgusting crap coming out of the brain dead camp of liberallooneyland!  BTW, I also heard that blonde freak is the daughter of Susan Sarandon.

  • Mary Ellen/Nunly

And we wonder why our country is so f***d up.

  • Retired

So ridiculous I can’t think of a comment.

  • Craig Della Penna

    Nice!

  • bart

Next promotional ideas from these geniuses:

Rock the vote keggers – get your friends hammered and take the pledge!

Rock the vote hookups – sign up to lay down for THIS law!

  • Doc99

There’s not much different between advertising sex and advertising a state’s exemption to Medicaid funding now is there? Integrity! Our country’s in the very best of hands.

  • bart

Guess not.  It’s all about the hookup.

  • sowsear

Some want the US to be one big whorehouse. Debauchery from the ground up, across the land.
I almost cannot believe that this is legitimate, Are we sure that this is not another crazy plant by Axelgrease and Rhomboid to make us look silly when we fall for it?

  • Karen
  • Docelder

I don’t know, maybe people ought to have to be age 25 and up before they can vote. 18 used to be fine, but I think our educational system has stifled personal development somehow. Maybe 25 is the new 18, or maybe it should be.

  • sowsear

I don’t think the educational system is responsible for teaching moral responsibility and/or common sense. How about parents or the culture or lying media…???

  • Karen

I agree with you completely!  A part of the problem is that we don’t teach these children how to behave like adults.  They do not have any real responsibility, and the public school system does not encourage actual teaching or independent thinking.  Our society and country has become so infantile.

  • sowsear

    Or corruption among supposed leaders?

  • nickoury

    WTF.
    You CANNOT be serious.
    That ad is completely ridiculous.

  • sowsear

    It’s Hillary’s fault!

  • whoframedrudy

They were doing fine until they started in on the Dem talking points.  The ad didn’t just say “Vote” it clearly sent the message “Vote Democrat.”  If this is a non-profit, I’d revoke their non-profit status.

Some young people are actually married.  So I guess young couples should divorce over political differences.  Way to unify the country.

  • candymarl

omg, this is how you rock the vote now. hot chicks r us. hey, support us and get laid [maybe]. it’s all good. good grief.

  • Animal Control

We should have listened to Pastor Manning when he called Obama a MACK DADDY!

Yes and No. I think this is exactly the new culture that is being pushed by them – through ACORN, and the DNC purchase of electors- which is: KEEP PUSHING / PUSH AND PUSH AND IT THE RESISTANCE WILL GIVE UP.

As far as I am concerned this is the new culture that is being imposed or taught to the young and coming – that pushing will get you result – the results you could get through studying and learning but that time and lazyness would not allow you to fulfill. The latest bouts in the Senate towards getting the HC bill pass is a good example.

The problem with pushing is that generally it throws everything -specially what used to good about us – deliberation and reasoning – out the door.

  • AnnieCarmel

I don’t know whose daughter she is but SS wouldn’t surprise me.  The girl, is however, an actress who played a part on Showtime’s “Californicaton”…her character was a “student” who moonlighted in a strip club, seducing of course the man whore writer-professor (main character played by David Duchovny).  He was having 3 affairs simultaneously.  The show, btw, is really crummy and I watched it several times to see what the shoutin’ was all about.  It is a 100% depiction of Hollywood morals and standards.  Every character in it is skanky, sleazy and portrayed as the Hollywood Hip way to be. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the same writers came up with this ad on how to encourage our youth to become prostitutes.  It’s sickening and more than sad…depressing.  How many STDs do you reckon the low-life group making the ad share?

    I’ve cancelled Showtime and HBO.

  • Proud Military Mom

Please, oh PLEASE can I slap the parents of these children in this ad? The parents apparently need it for not having taught their children anything!
Were they my kids- they would be slapped into the next century the second I found out about it.
    They should be ashamed!

  • Solara 9

Love the cartoon, hate the ad!  We are going downhill fast!

  • Proud Military Mom

BTW- popped over to Rock the Votes sight- what a pathetic excuse thay have put up for this travesty- apparently it is generating some very bad vibes for them-
Now what was it mom used to say???? Oh yeah- THINK before you act! Yet another lesson not taught these little punks.

  • Sassy

For old-timers, some cheap whiskey and cigarettes used to turn the trick.

  • Ferd berfle

“I don’t know, maybe people ought to have to be age 25 and up before they can vote. ”

I’ll go a step further–they should be 25 AND pass a written examination akin to those given to naturalized citizens. Perhaps if That One had taken the test, he might have been merely a below-average president instead of the failure he most certainly is.

    Bah.

  • tango

The girl is Eva Amurri – Susan Sarandon’s daughter. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree politically speaking there.

  • Anonymous

Yep.  Susan Sarandon’s daughter.  The liberal apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!  Eva Amurri, a class act (gag!)

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/18/eva-amurris-stripper-role_n_289325.html

  • Obamastolemycountry

It seems reasonable to change the voting age to 25 and older.  Did you know the front brain (reason and logic) is not fully developed until the age of 25??  It is true.

  • Rich

    Wonderful cartoon!

I see this as a two-prong problem.  The first is, what is a politician’s vote is worth? The second is what is an individual’s vote worth?

Often it cost much more to buy a politician’s vote then it does an individual’s vote.  Unfortunately for most politicians it only takes kissing a baby, shaking a hand, acting as if you are nice person who you can have a beer with, and making promises that you can do everything for everyone, even if different people’s needs and goals are incompatible with each other.

So who really sells their vote for cheap?

    Rich

  • mountainaires

Find it messed up? I doubt it. They’ll lap it up like the slavish no-loads they are. These are the people who gulped down the “hopenchange” Koolaid remember?

God, I’m glad I’m old and won’t have to live in their “fuck the vote” brave new world. *DONT_KNOW*

  • WestVirginia304

I thought buying votes was illegal.  I thought selling sex was illegal.  Are these folks saying that a woman’s body can be purchased?  Next they will be telling the boys that support the adgenda that they can just take sex from girls who don’t go along.  Anything worth paying for is worth stealing.  Are we going backwards?

    Alright.  I’ll stop now.

Great tune.  I don’t need to say much more because you nailed it with your art.

  • Obama:Dubya 2 Electric Boogaloo

The other problem with pushing is that they take into consideration that they may not be in power (for long hopefully). When the GOP takes over the senate, beit 2010, 2012, 2016, and starts pushing for their agenda, the first one who will be running to the cameras screaming like a little biotch will be Chucky Schumer and his ilk, crying about “fairness” and the integrity of the filibuster.

on a side note: being able to delete and have a redo is awesome!

In the hippies’ defense, this idea was plagiarized from Aristophanes’ Lysistrata.

  • AnnieCarmel

The Lefties are making it their business to educate, influence and push our children/grandchildren toward low language, morals and inappropriate behavior.  I like a lot of Robin of Berkeley’s articles on this at American Thinker.  She, like a lot of us, is a “recovering liberal”, psychotherapist, who has lived and looked at the Left from inside the belly of the beast, Berkeley, for many years.  She sees throught them…as does David Horowitz.  Like the saying goes “You had to have been there.  Well they were and so was I.  It all seems so incredibly naive and immature now.  You might think the adults who never progressed past the 60′s agenda seem retarded.  But they are not.  They know exactly what they are doing and it’s not for our good or society as a whole.  They want mass manipulation more than anything else.  When I see filth like the ad, I know they are truly evil.

Yes, litttle Eve does have her Mommy’s features…along with her profession and morals as well.  How appropriate that her first big outting on the small screen should be as a pole dancer, bareing her breasts and thonged bottom.  Methinks Mommy is a pimp.

  • AnnieCarmel

“She sees throught them.”  Make that “through”…

  • AnnieCarmel

Pretty sure they think they are original!  Similar to Madonna who thought she invented sex and thought she should teach all of the masses about it by photographing her hoo ha for her living room.  My God, what a bunch of slimballs.

  • AnnieCarmel

Pretty sure they think they are the original!  Similar to Madonna who invented sex and thought she should teach all of the masses about it by photographing her hoo ha for her living room wall.  My God, what a bunch of slimballs.

  • Woman Voter

That is SICK, simply SICK to pimp women in a voting AD.  I do note like it and I wouldn’t support ROCK THE MISOGYNIST VOTE EVER!

  • oowawa

Oh come on Pat, this has got to be a satire from The Onion!  Well, if it’s on the level, I’ve go some bad news for all of the horny obot chicks out there:  this cuddle bunny is holding out for some ladies who have the nerve to vote against Thee One’s agenda!  Suffer!

  • AnnieCarmel

Quoting the trashy (at age 24) Amurri:  “I have huge respect for people who do pole dancing. Stripping is incredibly empowering.”  This is supposed to be “deep” but is the same mentality that attempts to justify prostitution as “empowering”.  It is not anything of the kind; only denial of the degradation of women and men by meaningless physical gratification.  So damaging to the soul and essence of women.  So far as I’m concerned, this is what we’ve created by our 60′s attitude of “no censorship”, allowing pornography to become accepted in many circles as a norm.  Women now feel intimidated to alter their bodies to look like porn stars with silicone and genital mutilation.  Will they every be good enough, sexy enough?  How strange is it that so many become outraged over female mutilation of women/girls in 3rd world countries but see no relationship in what they do to their own bodies in the name of attractiveness.

  • AnnieCarmel

    eh…slimeballs

  • AnnieCarmel

Sad thing is oowawa, we can’t tell if it’s satire or not because it is too close to the truth of how low the Left is.

  • oowawa

Very true, Annie.  Ever since we’ve gone down the rabbit hole into Wonderland, it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s fantasy.

  • I’m a Linda too

I heard about that.  Thank you-I think, for providing that disturbing video.

And that shows the level of education out of the Obama supporter.

  • Linda Mac

Surely this is NOT a real ad.  Is it on the Rock the Vote website?  I am speechless.  The cartoon captures the ad precisely; however, I still cannot believe anybody is so simple-minded as to think this is a good way to influence the governmnent of this country.  OTOH, last year I attended our grandson’s 8th grade graduation and I was just this shocked at the backless and practically frontless dresses the little girls were wearing.  Along with high heels they could not walk in and dresses with frequent “wardrobe malfunctions” it would have been funny if it weren’t so dreadfully sad and pitiful.  Those thirteen-fourteen-year-old children looked like child prostitutes and certainly must have felt as awkward as they looked.  I certainly do NOT want to go back to the 1950s but I don’t want our eleven-year-old grand daughter trading sex for a vote on anything and I do not want our fourteen grandson to see girls and women as objects but that is just what this ad is teaching.

Thank you for the excellent cartoon and for bringing this to our attention.  I

  • Docelder

Wasn’t she moving to Canada or Europe… or somewhere? Well go already? or have things changed since “one and done” has been selected?

  • Pat Racimora

OOWAWA–it’s very much for real.  You can find it on the Rock the Vote home page.

  • Pat Racimora

Yes. it is on the site–it is for real…unfortunately.

  • Docelder

Women as objects? Not these frat boys. This is the guy writing thise eloquent words that the President reads. What we need in this country is some leadership, what we have is a constantly vacationing animal house fraternity.

  • AnnieCarmel

Well, kids, given the choice between the Obamacrats and going back to the fifties, I’d choose Ike.  Never did I think I’d feel this way.  Mom and Dad were soooo right about soooo much…but I’ve known this for a while. LOL.

My only hope is if I could have been a crazed 60′s Bohemian and have come back around to the core principles and standards taught by my very patriotic family then maybe not all is lost.  I swear, by contrast our family was positively Norman Rockwell.  My fear, of course, is that the other jerks of the 60′s didn’t instill any standards, boundaries or morals at all in their children..and we’re now seeing the horrible results in their grandchildren.

  • connie

well the evangelical conservatives will have a field day with this. This will bring out the republicans in droves. The dims are just plain stupid! Then again, just like Rev. Manning said” the first time he saw Obama’s name it was plastered all over a pair of 54D’s. Its the mentality of the Obama club.

  • Pat Racimora

Good comment Annie Carmel–quite perceptive!  Thanks.

  • AnnieCarmel

I should add that the cartoon is brilliant!

  • Peggy Sue

Wow!  It’s so-o-o encouraging to see an ad aimed at the lowest common denominator–our sex-addled youth.

Fuck the vote!  There’s a message we can all believe in.  So inspiring.

Really scraping the bottom of the barrel.  Btw, have they lowered the voting age to 15?  Just asking.

  • don X

The toon is clever.  The movie is a stupid joke!  It has no impact whatever on me.
