Obama Tries To Throw The CIA Under the Bus

Boy, is the Obama White House stupid or what? They are busy circulating the story that the CIA failed to connect the dots on the failed bombing of the Delta/Northwest flight from Amsterdam on Christmas Day.

President Barack Obama said Tuesday that the intelligence community had bits of information that should have been pieced together that would have triggered “red flags” and possibly prevented the Christmas Day attempted terror attack on a Detroit-bound airliner.
“There was a mix of human and systemic failures that contributed to this potential catastrophic breach of security,” Obama said.

Senior U.S. officials told The Associated Press that intelligence authorities are now looking at conversations between the suspect in the failed attack and at least one al-Qaida member. They did not say how these communications with the suspect, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, took place—by Internet, cell phone or another method.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters, said the conversations were vague or coded, but the intelligence community believes that, in hindsight, the communications may have been referring to the Detroit attack. One official said a link between the suspect’s planning and al-Qaida’s goals was becoming more clear.

Now let me tell you what is really going on.

Last night when I was sitting in the Green Room at CNN I was able to overhear the conversation between a senior female Time Magazine reporters and a well know Barack Obama advisor (also a lady). They ignored me but spoke openly so what is a guy to do? I collected intel. They started off by ragging on Janet Napolitano. They were aghast at her claim, “the system worked” and wondered who at the White House had screwed the pooch on this. We are talking two major Obama kool aid drinkers here. These ladies are unabashed in playing their role as a cheerleader for team Obama. When people like this start ravaging the Obama White House you know that you have a major problem.

So some time today someone at the White House (my guess is Rahm Emmanuel, Marc Lippert or Dennis McDonough) decided to put out the story that the near terrorist miss on Christmas Day was the fault of the CIA. What a crock of shit!!!

If Umar Abdulmuttalab’s dad had told the CIA:

“Look, my son is a trained terrorist. He has exploding underwear and is boarding a plane soon for Detroit”

But that did not happen. The kid’s name was put into the TIDE database. But the system does not provide magic pictures or flashing lights to make it clear what someone intends to do.

The failure to stop Umar started when he checked in. Airlines should never allow someone to get on board a plane who has purchased a one way ticket with cash and has no luggage. What else did he need to do to signal he was a potential threat? Where a t-shirt inscribed, “I TRAINED AT CAMP BIN LADEN AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOUSY T-SHIRT?”

The Obama team is showing their ass. They are panicked. Scared people drown when panicked. The CIA did its job. They passed the information to the National Counter Terrorism Center aka NCTC. It is the job of NCTC to identify the threat. That mission was taken away from the CIA by George Bush and the Congress back in 2002. Stay tuned. This will get ugly.

Yes, they are frantically shaping the message. I think so long as the media covers for them, they will never stop doing this. Because it works for them right now and it has worked for them from the time this guy walked onto the DNC stage in 2004. The media is complicit in elevating this guy, and they have been complicit in covering for him. But now, we see this isn’t just feeling good about bashing Bush, or feeling good about how multicultural the White House now is. This is for real. This is as much a test of the media as it is a test for this administration. This administration is failing their test… will the media also fail theirs? We are bout to find out.

  • sowsear

BO came out to speak only after everyone was mocking Napolitano’s “The system worked” and  because he didn’t have his heart into it the first time, he had to take time out again from his golfing for a redo. Someone ought to buy him a “The buck stops here” sign (or maybe two or three).

  • Docelder

That’s just it. The buck is never going to stop with him so long as the media exists as virtual “plastic pants” for him. First everything was Bush and now that they can’t blame Bush for this then it’s the CIA. Horse hockey, the White House is his now, Afghanistan and Iraq are his, the economy is his and homeland security is now his. He didn’t inherit anything, he campaigned for two years and spent over a billion dollars in advertising to get this job. Maybe he might ought to think about doing it.

Where a t-shirt inscribed, “I TRAINED AT CAMP BIN LADEN AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOUSY T-SHIRT?”

LOL!  You tell them Larry!!  Bring on the Clowns is playing in the background at the WH as we speak. It’s so tragic that I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

  • Kim

I read that Mutallab didn’t have a passport.  That alone should have kept him off the flight.   The rules were ignored, he got on, and the rest is history.  Obama and his lackeys are going to blame everyone except those who are actually to blame…themselves.  Scapegoating is what they do best.

  • AnnieCarmel

Is it a good idea to piss off the CIA?

  • AnnieCarmel

BTW, Larry, I’d like to add my congrats for your interviews on the telly yesterday.  Clear and knowledgable…exemplary in these days of confused, fuzzy reporting.

  • Docelder

There was also the report that a well dressed man was talking on the bahalf of him and saying he was a Somalian and that the airlines make exceptions for Somalians all the time. If this is the truth, then this Somalian soft spot is a huge human hole in security. Claimed Somalian or not, security needs to be enforced across the board evenly, else security doesn’t exist at all.

  • AnnieCarmel

This pretender wouldn’t be fit to wipe Truman’s shoes much less fit into them.

  • SantaFeK

Larry on CNN and Larry King:  ”Sharp fellow,” says the spouse.
    Excellent job.

  • connie

I don’t understand how the Somalian’s are getting breaks, doesn’t anyone remember Black Hawk down, or the pirates. These folks don’t like us either.

  • Peggy Sue

Mananged to catch the first part of your appearance on Larry King, Larry.  Good stuff!

Ridicule definitely seems to get this Adminstration’s attention.  Napolitano’s new spin that she was “taken out of context” only made things worse in my mind. I watched that interview–she was “not” taken out of context and Crowley gave her every opportunity to explain her position. And now they’re pointing fingers at the CIA?

Is there anything the President and his merry band are willing to take responsibility for???

They’re good at making excuses, I’ll give them that.

  • nel

GOSH. LARRY I MISSED THE INTERVIEW. CAN YOU POST IT HERE PLEASE!

  • Dictator or Dickhead

Its never Obama’s fault — the buck stops anywhere but at Obama’s doorstep.  Pat Caddell had it just right today when he said Americans have begun to perceive that Obama is incompetent and there’s nothing he can do to change that perception once it take hold. While he was fiddling with Death Panels and ignoring Foreign Policy Alqaeda was regrouping.  If blaming the CIA fails to bring back his personal popularity then he will have to play the race card once again.  Its his Hail Mary pass.

  • AnnieCarmel

And as Ben Franklin said:  “If you’re good at making excuses, you’ll seldom be good at anything else.”

  • FranSC

I never dreamed Candy Crowly/CNN would stoop to this:

After reporting that Napolitano had messed up with her “The system worked!” nonsense, crowly continued with something to the effect:  “So then perhaps the most skilled orator of our time took over!”  The message she seemed to be conveying was that B0′s mere words was the happy ending to this near tragedy.

Candy – still drunk on the koolaid out in the wild blue yonder over this zero person/POTUS.   I thought she was a true professional. NOT!

  • FranSC

Yes, they do respond to ridicule.   As much as the 0bama regime despises FoxNews, they apparently monitor it constantly.  Any time someone on Fox says the president should say/do this or that, check your watch.  B0 or his spokespeople waste no time getting the Fox message out as if it were their own.  It is truly laughable……as well as pathetic.

OMG what can one say…. Thank goodness their letting real people now speak on the TV!

  • Anonymous

They had this guy on a list in Aug.Okay. Then his father, who is not just another joe blow, warns of his son. I can’t believe that the father’s, info wasn’t taken serously enough to check further.

  • Sonic Ninja Kitty

CIA, join the Secret Service under the bus.

When did the CIA pass the info on to the NCTC? How long did it take?

    This British journo:

    http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/tobyharnden/100020934/barack-obama-gets-an-f-for-protecting-americans/

    cited this CNN article:

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/12/29/airline.terror.cia/

Which claims that the CIA DIDN’T circulate the specific info.

How do we know whom to believe? You or CNN? I don’t doubt your sincerity, but how do you know that the CIA did its job?

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Oh, blech.  She is pitiful.  I cannot stand to watch that woman “report.”

I am not the least bit surprised that Obama is blaming the CIA.  We knew it was coming, didn’t we??

Perhaps Obama, or more likely, his advisors (who actually run things), decided that they would rather sacrifice Panetta on this one than Napolitano.  Thus, after Janet fucks up the Sunday shows big time, they sit back for a couple of days, assess the political blowback situation, come up with a plan to shift blame to an organization that no one knows anything about, and bingo! The CIA is blamed.
Hey, Leon!  Forget about it, No one in the Agency cares about you anyway.  When you are reduced to going to the retirement parties of mid-level employees that you’ve never even met just so someone with a blue badge will share a non-alcoholic drink with you, it’s time to pack it in.  Grab Stan Turner, play a few holes, and cry in your respective beers at the clubhouse about how those elite bastards at the Agency would never let you become one of them.

  • Retired

That’s an interesting point.  But since we’re asking that question, let’s ask a logical follow on:  How do we know that the CNN story is correct, and not just a fabrication allowed to be published/broadcast without normal journalistic oversight  by an editorial staff that is inclined to support the political machinations of the Obama White House?

  • Docelder

This is clear now Sudan and not Somalia.

  • b mathews

how long do you think it will be before someone blames hillary? i would not be surprised if soon after the new year she resigns.  im sure she sees this administration going down (which must give her some satisfaction)  and needs to get out before obamas ship sinks…which shouldnt be much longer at the rate he’s going.

  • Portia Elizabeth

Hillary can’t resign. If she does, she’ll be roasted just like Sarah Palin. It won’t matter why she leaves; she’ll be portrayed as weak and a quitter. The BO administration will work 24/7 to destroy any credibility Hillary has acquired because they are afraid of her. And because they are spiteful, puerile pretenders.

  • I’m a Linda too

Of course, blame the CIA…and expect they will still cover his @SS.

The CIA should now see they are his scapegoat…all WAYS.

    Even Europe knows better
This is a good article and I have posted it a couple times for as many to read.

Barack Obama gets an ‘F’ for protecting Americans

UPDATE – The CIA’s Office of Public Affairs has made an official statement that the Agency notified NCTC of the information that they had on the “alleged” underwear bomber in November.  Now we have a real dilema of who to believe, the CIA or CNN.  Comments?
