An Insightful Note From a Reader on Bill Clinton’s Comments on GMA

A NoQuarter reader sent me an insightful remark about Bill Clinton’s interview on GMA, along with a link to the article featuring the video by “garychapelhill” at Riverdaughter’s blog, The Confluence: “America calls Obama’s bluff on the race card.” First, here’s the video. Next, the reader’s must-read insights on what Bill Clinton really meant:

Then, our reader writes:

If you notice, at the beginning of the video, Bill makes a comment about Obama being held to a different standard than others who have run for president, but he also said (around the 44 second mark): “That everybody has a right to run for president as long as they’re qualified under the Constitution” (emphasis mine).

Here’s the thing – I have followed Bill’s political career for a long time (and I have studied it closely because I am a political scientist) and he did NOT say this accidentally. This is a message to TexasDarlin’ (I am sure he knows all about her posts and her reports) to keep pressing in on the citizenship/birth certificate issue.

Though I can probably never prove this (and Bill would likely deny it, if he were ever confronted with it), I know that Bill was trying to say – “keep going!”

NOTE: That is NOT what Bill Clinton said. We’re just reading between the lines, perhaps hopefully.

How’s that for insight?

Oh yes, that was a cue to keep at him on that issue alright. We have to bring down that shady operation BHO has going.

    • simanov

According to Techdude and Texas Darling the COLB used for the forgery is Maya Kassandra Soetoro’s, Obama’s sister who supposedly was born in Indonesia.
I wonder if this is a pattern where Ann Dunham would give birth outside of the US and fraudulently obtain an American COLB in order to insure citizenship for her children.

      • Hope Floats

She scammed food stamps while she was receiving govt aid for her college tuition.

        • BernieO

PLEASE provide more information on this. I am sick and tired of the media buying the fairy tale that Barack came from a deprived background. His mother was a college graduate who went on to get a PhD. Both grandparents were also college grads and grandma became the first female VP of the largest bank in the state. His stepfather was also college educated and had a good job in an oil company in the Phillipines.

Instead of being proud of this heritage which so clearly valued education Obama wants us to believe that his grandparents let him and his mother live in poverty subsisting on food stamps. What a scam. Bet grandma would like to slap him silly.

          • Linda C.

Many graduate students were in food stamps at the time. It was when we valued education and would help grad students with expenses including food stamps. It was figured that the government would get their investment back when these students graduated with higher salaries paying back more in taxes than the initial expense of providing the benefit.

          • bemused

I don’t think anyone has actually pinpointed that time when she took foodstamps, but best bet would be when she was in WA state in 1962. It’s the only time she was really on her own with BO and trying to go to school–hmm, who was the babysitter? Her friend on Mercer Island? Anyway, otherwise she was supported by someone or not in the US as far as I know. I hate that poverty shtick too.

            • Dee

Food Stamps were not yet available in 1962. The earliest year would have been after 1965.

      • Ellen D.

Could the sister have been born in Hawaii? I think any American woman would have returned to the States during that period rather than give birth in an Indonesian hospital. And she and her husband had enough money for her to do that.

        • http://democratsforrealchange.info Dr. bobbi Anne White

But as it was pointed out earlier, Lolo had to adopt Barry so he could attend public schools which are only available to citizens. so why would may be born in Hawaii.
The whole thing smells like Grandma Dunham who was a VP in a bank had enough connections to get bc’s for her grandkids wherever they were born.

    • CheatedFLVoter

You guys are right on. Bill loves Hillary dearly. She is not only his wife, but his best friend. I don’t think he values anyone’s judgment as much as hers. He knows she was treated unfairly and would give anything to see this fraud brought out in the open. I only hope it happens in time to make her our CIC.

      • roseeriter

Susan, I see it as a curious coincident also, kind of a statement out of the blue out of context. I think He knows something more about the Fairy Tale of Obama.

        • BernieO

Of course he does. Their oppo research had the facts, but Axelrod and Co. made sure that using them would have tarred the Clintons as racists.

    • http://www.hillaryloyalistnowformccain.com valsthewoman

Of course that is what he meant. I replied on Puma Blog this morning that Bill is very aware that Obama is not qualified under our constitution. But here is another angle. Hillary Clinton is well aware of this situation. Go back and take a peak at the bill Bo co-sponsered to make sure McCain qualified. It is said that he wanted to change a certain sentenance that would make some believe that even Calif Gov could run. So there may be a double meaning to this statement. 1. keep pressing the issue. 2. there may be an interpetation to the bill passed that will qualify him. Someone needs to research this angle that has law experience.

      • Truudy

I thought they had it in the bill. I think before it came to a vote.I think the senate took that part of it out. This was Ms McKaskill or however you spell her name. I read it some place, can’t remeber where. I think that it was here at NQ.

        • http://www.thecityedition.com/Pages/Archive/Winter08/2008Election.html Factcheck2

Pres. Clinton should come right out and say what he feels. It’s clear from his body language he knows Obama has no business getting the nomination – not because of a birth certificate technicality but because he’s a bad person. His tone in that interview accurately reflects what most Americans think (and are angry about).

Hopefully this truthtelling will continue. Why not reveal how this election was a concocted fraud and call on the DNC to investigate the thousands of voter complaints that have so far been ignored? And then there’s Sen. Clinton’s endorsement of Obama… (It will not be remembered as her finest hour, to say the least.) Pres. Clinton should expose the partisan role Brazile and Dean have played, and their apparent collusion with Karl Rove to get Republicans to vote for Obama in the primaries. Somebody has to be a stand-up Democrat and do the right thing. Otherwise Rove gets his ticket nominated in Sept. and it’s all over.

          Here’s more on the fraud.

          http://www.thecityedition.com/Pages/Archive/Summer08/BrazileRoveConnect.html

          • bemused

I see the Clintons in a delicate situation, because so far BO is doing himself in just fine, maybe not as fast as we would like, but he will “lose fair and square,” not because anyone hurt him but because of his lack of merit. Some people, however, still believe he has merit.
If the Clintons didn’t appear to support him they would forever be accused of sabotaging him and it would achieve mythic status. The only way out is for her to “win fair and square,” which we know she did, but the hardcore BO supporters have to be disenchanted on their own to accept it.

            • mary

good analysis, “bemused” Exactly how I would assess this ignominious coronation of Precious Obama (Lou Dobbs called him that back in March!).

Hillary is doing the right thing. She has no other honorable choice but to go on record supporting the Chicago political sewer rat! She is a Democrat and a true one–unlike Mr. Opportunism Himself.

The Chickens, or I should say the Pumas, will come home to roost in November! And Barack’s Britney Moment will be gone, thank god…

Now why doesn’t anyone investigate BHO’s support and active campaign for his Sharia Law islamist cousin Odinga in Kenya!? Obama was helping instal Sharia Law and he knew his slumlord cousin’s agenda.

Odinga is a billionaire slum landlord in Kenya…it’s all in the family. In Chicago he’s got Rezko…and in the fatherland he’s got Odinga!! What a supporting cast, eh?

Yes, you might be surprised at how many people out there favor one over the other but are more than happy to vote for either of them.

There are not all that many ‘bots — as compared to PUMAS, of that I am fairly sure.

    • http://blog.pumapac.org IndyPUMA

I beleive that is why she is ‘allegedly’ taking in funds for her 2012 run and has set up websites for that year.

I have a feeling that the if HC was able to come out on top at the convention that the party will be in a complete mess and, therefor, not able to run with a party mandate, unless, of course…

Something big happens where the whole party goes running for cover under the Clinton shelter.

wrt that interview… I found it interesting that Bill didn’t come out with overwhelming support of the Obamessiah.

      • AF catfish

It’s tipping that way. It has to come from Obama. We have to pressure him that stepping aside is doing the right thing. He said himself that it would be easy to lose your soul seeking this type of thing, and he was wary that would happen to him.

Do the right thing Obama, heal the divisions you have sewn, step aside and nominate Hillary as president. You are not ready for this job.

        • DoroB.

He did say that, but how do we know he meant it? It seemed to me that Obama lost his soul many times already.

      • lusitania

Why should he come out with overwhelming support of Obama? The Clintons have done enough for him already. What he said was supportive enough. Why can’t the press leave him alone. I found the interviewer bordering on disrespect.

    • BV in CO

This worries me, too. The last thing I want to happen is for a protest in Denver to hurt Hillary’s chances in 2012.

If this COLB thing turns out to bite us on the butt, what? I don’t think that fool Obambam could run a lemonade stand, let alone a country. But if this is another dead end black hole, it will really make a lot of people look, well… foolish.

Plus, what are we to make of Hillary not wanting her name to be put in the running at the convention? I’d hate to think so, but could a lot of noize in Denver actually work against her legacy?

Let’s try to be wise about this is all I’m saying.

      • AF catfish

She said her name in nomination would be a gesture of unity. Video proof right here.

      • VeritasUS

        I’m with you there, BV.

I have to wonder if the Obamedia isn’t holding off on the Edwards affair/love child scandal so they can bash Bill & Hillary over the head with it if Obama were to go down for some reason like the COLB.

Think about it: Obama’s out and then all of the sudden we get to hear how the Edwards’ problems are like those of the Clintons and we get stuck with a nominee like Biden or (god forbid) Richardson.

Hopefully that kind of smear campaign would blow over by 2012!

        • Iphie

What? How can either of the Clintons be hurt by what John Edwards may or may not have done? There’s this common idea that any Democrat ever who has some sort extra-marital scandal is going to reflect badly on the Clintons. What is the connection, other than the one in your mind, that would lead you to believe that Bill Clinton has any responsibility for John Edwards whatsoever?

This is very similar to the argument that people made that somehow Eliot Spitzer was going to be the undoing of Hillary Clinton’s candidacy — it was a ridiculous argument then, and it is a ridiculous argument now. If you recall, the only people who paid any serious attention to some Clinton/Spitzer scandal link were Henny Penny, the-sky-is-falling people on the blogs. If the media tried to push it, it clearly did not catch on. People are smarter than that, really.

        • karen for Clinton

The Edwards scandal would not hurt Hillary at all.

Edwards was part of the pact with ob to take their names off the Michigan ballot. Edwards often spoke up for ob and had said on a TV interview he had chosen which candidate to endorse even before he had announced his support. The killer was the timing of the endorsement and the location. Michigan and as Hillary was winning another primary. And he encouraged his supporters to back ob as well and made deals with ob about his mailing list for his charity work. Hillary is Edwards free.

The media is owned by republicans. They have chosen ob because he is the weaker of the two. They know they can destroy him between August 27th and Nov 4th easily and that Mac will win.

The media in the last two elections were in the pocket of dubya and they also pushed Iraq on us.

Why people are still fooled by the media hype of ob is they are terribly convincing in their zeal and they sure do seem to be obots. We have all seen them turn on a dime and go from praise to bash overnight, yet we fall for it every 4 years.

They will destroy ob in their own sweet time, which is 10 seconds after the balloons drop in Denver.

If it is Hillary, the same will happen, only we know and the whole world knows about Bill and Monica and they couldn’t tie that old canoodle, which Bill paid for all these years, to this Edwards baby daddy story.

They wouldn’t substitute Biden or Richardson anyway.

          That is out there totally.

If ob is toast before Denver, Hillary steps in.

Will she get his voters, what do the reps have to throw at her, what will the media say, is there enough time to campaign and set up offices and change all the plans from ob to hill, etc. is all immaterial. It would all have to work out the best it could. I could care less what the CDS nutroots do, but it would be amusing to watch them explode.

          • Clinton Fan

            Very astute analysis, that.

            • roseeriter

Edwards owns his own mess, for christ sakes. I am cursing all the Clinton haters for once and for all. They are not responsible for all the mistakes in the Dem Party and the republicans OWN Bush so if I hear anyone blame the Clintons for others sins they will be shunned.

        • trixta

Yes, or else BO is going to use the Edwards’ scandal as a red herring to divert attention away from his own impending scandals concerning Larry Sinclair or his citizenship.

        • http://democratsforrealchange.info Dr. bobbi Anne White

there’s a big difference between a blow job and having a love child, that he isn’t acknowledging.and Edwards isn’t really liked that much. His poor neighbors don’t derive any benefit from his being across the street in his huge mansion.

      • K. Wynne

        BV in CO,

The protest in Denver will be a peaceful display of major citizen disapproval of being disenfranchised and ignored, and the outcry of anger that should be heard throughout the country by the core group of the democratic party — its women — in our total rebuke of the sexism and misogyny that ran amok throughout the primary against a brilliant, accomplished Senator and her female supporters, not to mention exercising of our First Amendment Rights, which are fast being taken away from us. This is what a democracy is supposed to be all about.

If we feel that dissent is a bad thing, then we no longer live in a democracy, but exist under tyranny. Dissent is the best tonic for what ails our country right now and a reminder of what it means to be an American citizen.

A public display of our support for Hillary will also counter the MSM’s spin that the dems have unified and we have all come home to support obama. We can never forget, much less give a free pass to all the lies and betrayal by the DNC, the MSM and the presumptutious nominee, himself. This must be confronted and in a public way!

More importantly, such a public display of disapproval and protest against how this primary was literally fixed by the DNC, with the compliance of the obama camp is necessary to preserve the truth of what went down in the 2008 democratic primary because I’m certain, without this documented proof, history will be rewritten to make certain the democratic primary of 2008 will be remembered as the historic race of the first AA, bringing with him “hope and change” and being the symbol of the traditions for which America stands! To let that lie prevail and worse, become a part of historic record, would be UNPATRIOTIC.

        • FranSC

          Amen! K.Wynne, You said it!!

      • C.S.

Seeking the truth should never make anyone feel foolish and there is more evidence that he faked his birth certificate than many prosecutors use to convict someone of a crime.

If you’ve ever sat on a jury, look at all the evidence accumulated by these researchers and make up your own mind based on how the judge instructed you. Having done scientific studies and analyzed data, I believe there is validity to this research even though many of the original documents are not available. The question is not if the research could be more valid if the documents were available but why are the documents not in the public domain if they are all in order. Senator Clinton’s were. Senator McCain’s were. And all the other candidates have long papertrails. Only Barack Obama does not have a papertrail of his own. Only Barack Obama has one that has been created by others for him.

      • Betty

BV, much as want Hillary to win the nomination, this isn’t about her or her legacy. The leaders of the Democratic Party plotted to control the outcome of the 2008 primaries, they thought it would be over quickly and we would never really know.
To further their plans they rigged the delegate allocation per vote, they selectively punished the democratic population of two huge states, they gave Obama votes he didn’t earn and they stole 4 delegates from Hillary and gave them to Obama (how many individual votes are represented in 4 delegates?). They allowed a candidate and the most successfull democratic president since FDR to be unjustly vilified and slandered by Obama and the MSM because it suited their needs. The list goes on and on.

The Democratic Party leaders who tried to do this need to be taught never try it again. We need to do what ever we need to do.

Actually I don’t bother with TM or HP. I unsubscribed from HP in March. However, they still send emails when TM has a new post….I did that when she was the only strong HRC supporter on HP. However, the headline on this one made me particularly angry…so I checked it out at HP and TM’s site. I suppose she had to do this article…from the look of the comments, there were many people unhappy with her commentary. It is also very perplexing to me that the people who dismiss us and are BO supporters take every opportunity to bash Bill Clinton. I suppose they are too young to remember how good the economy was during his 2 terms. He and Hillary are truly wonderful people who have worked hard for everything they have accomplished. Unlike the one who wants to be King of the World.

Illegal Obama donors: Middle Eastern Arabs Aug 5, ’08 2:51 PM
      for everyone

      By Aaron Klein
(poor starving Arabs being blockaded by the big bad Izraeelians miraculously are showered with thousands of dollars from Allah to give their Muslim brother Achmad Muhammad Ali Hussein Ibn Barak Obama)

JERUSALEM – Palestinian brothers inside the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip are listed in government election filings as having donated $29,521.54 to Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign. Donations of this nature would violate election laws, including prohibitions on receiving contributions from foreigners and guidelines against accepting more than $2,300 from one individual during a single election, Bob Biersack, a spokesman for the Federal Election Commission, told WND in response to a query. The contributions also raise numerous questions about the Obama campaign’s lax online donation form, which apparently allows for the possibility of foreign contributions. Last week, the Atlas Shrugs blog outlined a series of donations in 2007 made to Obama’s campaign from two individuals, Monir Edwan and Hosam Edwan, totaling $29,521.54. In an online form on Obama’s campaign site, the Edwans listed their street as “Tal Esaltan,” which they wrote was located in “Rafah, GA.” Rafah is not a city in Georgia. The Atlas blog immediately raised concerns that the money may have been donated from the Gaza Strip town of Rafah. The Edwans’ donations are listed in both FEC filings and other election filing sites, such as CampaignMoney and donordata.org. Monir made 20 donations ranging from $717 to $2017.50 from October through November 2007. His donations totaled $24321.41. Hosam made seven donations ranging from $508.63 to $1725.96, totaling $5,200.13, all in October 2007.A WND investigation tracked down the Edwans, who are brothers living in the Tal Esaltan neighborhood of Rafah, a large refugee camp in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. The Edwans are a large clan that include top Hamas supporters. Speaking to WND, the two brothers praised Obama and admitted giving the money online to his campaign. They said they are not U.S. citizens or green card holders but are citizens of “Palestine.” The Edwans denied they are affiliated with Hamas. Palestinian sources in Gaza confirmed the Edwans in question are secular, but could not say whether they supported Hamas. Monir and Hasam Edwan denied their financial transactions online – listed as donations in U.S. government election filings – were actual donations to Obama’s campaign. Instead they claimed they purchased about $30,000 in Obama T-shirts from the presidential candidate’s online store – a contention that did not hold up during a WND interview, when they changed their story several times. “My brother Hosam and I knew that Obama will be a big hit even before he became a candidate. We knew the guy would be a celebrity in Gaza so we decided to invest the amount of $29,000 to buy Obama T-shirts from his website and sell them in Gaza,” Monir Edwan told WND, speaking by cell phone from Gaza. “I know on the back of this story Obama rivals will present our business as a donation and they will try to use this story to let Obama fall, but I’m telling you, we bought T-shirts,” Edwan maintained. Edwan said any profit made from purportedly selling the Obama T-shirts was not returned to the Obama campaign. “We have nothing to do with the Obama campaign. We just like Obama and believe he will be the best for the Palestinians and for the world.” At first Monir Edwan claimed he sold the T-shirts in Gaza for around $9 and that a profit was made. “Some young men even bought the T-shirts for 60 shekel ($17.29), which is a lot to spend in Gaza on a T-shirt, but that is how much Gazans like Obama,” Edwan claimed. But it was pointed out to Edwan the T-shirts for sale on Obama’s website are listed as $20.08 and that selling the merchandise for less would not yield a profit. “Maybe we sold the shirts for a lot more. I can’t remember now,” said Edwan. Asked why he would purchase T-shirts at such a high rate and pay the cost of shipping when he could pay a company to produce T-shirts for less, Edwan replied, “We wanted the shirts to come from the campaign.” But Edwan could not explain how he managed to get shipments of T-shirts into the Gaza Strip during the months he claimed to have purchased the merchandise, since Israel imposed a tight closure of the Gaza Strip starting in June 2007 that lasted until June 2008, when the Israeli government agreed to a cease-fire with Hamas in Gaza. “We don’t want to cause any damage to Obama’s campaign,” was Edwan’s reply. Edwan said he wants Obama to be president. “Not just the people in Gaza but people from all over the world are rooting for this great man,” he told WND. FEC spokesman Biersack told WND contributions from overseas are allowed if the donations are coming from U.S. citizens or green card carriers. But he said accepting money from foreigners would violate election provisions. He said there are strict guidelines against accepting more than $2,300 from one individual during a single election. “I am not familiar with the particulars of the case, so I am commenting in general. The FEC will have to examine all the circumstances before determining any wrongdoing,” Biersack clarified. Obama’s campaign did not return WND phone calls or e-mail queries. That the Edwans were able to contribute any money to Obama’s campaign from Gaza opens questions into the methods used by the presidential candidate’s website to accept online donations. The website donation form asks each donor to affirm he or she is a U.S. citizen and is above the age of 16 but doesn’t require donors to prove their citizenship status, such as providing a social security number. The form further requires the donor to affirm the contribution is not coming from a corporation, political action committee or lobby group.

This guy wants us to believe that there’s not one Engineering/Artistic Genius in Gaza capable of designing and silkscreening a jazzy knockoff of an OBAMA tee-shirt?

PLEASE. The images are available all over the internet–it’s a simple matter at this stage.

Until about two days ago I rolled my eyes at the birth certificate stuff. But if it really is his sister’s birth cert, we have something major.

And given the profiles of Narcissistic personalities, one common characteristic is they feel above the law, above the rules, entitled to not be held to the same rules everybody else is.

The trick now is to make this a mainstream topic of conversation.

    • Thinker

My new strategy is to post this information on various political messageboards, and hope that more people get exposed to this information during the 5 minutes that it’s up, because sites like CNN have a habit of deleting information that goes against the Obama fairytale.
I have also emailed all the major news organizations, including BBC, and I encourage others to do the same.

      • AF catfish

Maybe we could do a head-fake on this. Like bring up John McCain’s birth cert. Then bring up Barack Obama’s. Then make the case that Arnold Schwarzenegger could be veep because nobody takes that stuff seriously anymore, that could provoke reaction.

I mean, who is the the bureaucrat that asks for a driver’s license and birth cert when you run for president? Let’s track that person down.

        • Thinker

          You know, that’s a good idea! :)

We could talk about McCain’s birth cert, then casually bring up Obama. I’ve also wondered about Maria Shriver and Arnold myself. She’s out there, campaigning for Obama, and now that he might not even qualify, and considered the fact that many say that her very un-qualified husband wants to run for President, well, it makes you wonder.

Throw in Obama supporter Mccaskil pushing through legislation to make sure that McCain is declared eligible to run?

Nothing in politics is a coincidence, and which is why this forged colb has a ring of truth to it.

          • AF catfish

Look at this Slate explainer article Explainer: What papers do you need to file to run for president? It’s all about financial stuff with the FEC. Nobody checks birth certificate!

A lot. The bureaucratic campaign begins when a candidate first gets together an exploratory committee. In general, candidates register their committees as not-for-profit corporations. Giuliani’s filing in New York describes his corporation as one that will “conduct federal ‘testing-the-waters’ activities under the Federal Election Campaign Act.” (Click for a PDF.) In many cases, these activities don’t amount to very much beyond polling, traveling, and making phone calls, until the exploratory committee gives way to a “campaign committee” later on.

Once the committee decides the waters are warm, it’s time to file a Statement of Candidacy. This includes the candidate’s name and address, the name and address of his or her principal campaign committee, and little else. Technically, you don’t need to fill out the paperwork until you’ve raised or spent $5,000 on your campaign; after that, you have 15 days to send the form to the FEC and the opposing candidates. A candidate gets another 10 days to fill out a Statement of Organization, which registers his or her principal campaign committee with the FEC. The document designates a treasurer and a custodian of records to oversee money in and money out.

            • Darryl

This is interesting. I can see a movement in senate right before the election, to require that a presidential nominee be required to file a birth certificate and them creating a specific department to verify its validity.

            • Hope

Maybe that’s because it’s been assumed no one seeking the hardest job in the world would have such little character as to lie about his/her citizenship..at least the founding fathers had better foresight.

            • C.S.

I think that’s because no one has run for president whose life isn’t an open book. By the time they get to that point of declaring themselves a candidate for president, they have usually been thoroughly checked out. Those running for Congress usually were born and raised in the district they run for or have lived in the district for a long time.

When Elizabeth Dole ran for the Senate in her home state there was quite a controversy over whether she was qualified or not because she had not lived in the state for more than 30 years; however, she took care of that problem by moving in with her mother (and leaving her husband Bob in his home state of Kansas I presume) but there was no question about her birthplace.

Same with Hillary Clinton when she moved to New York before her husband left the White House. Republicans complained that she wasn’t a “native” to New York even though by the time she ran for the Senate she met the eligibility requirement – but there was no question that she met the eligibility requirements because everyone knew her biography.

Only Obama seems to have been elected to the Illinois Senate without having his credentials verified but then he was vouched for by the “movers and shakers” like Ayers and Rezko and when he ran for the U.S. Senate it was assumed that if he was an Illinois Senator he must have already been vetted and vouched for. It was an error that kept being compounded until someone finally asked the right question. Obviously, like a tax loophole, now we’ve discovered it, we need to fix it even if it requires a Constitutional Amendment, which it probably will.

          • ritamary

The Governator has made it very clear he wants to run for president. When he campaigned for Bush in Ohio in 2004, the Bushies were supposed to push through a constitutional amendment allowing Arnold to run for president. Of course that was when Arnold was still popular, quite a while ago.

            • workingclass artist

That has been a wetdream of fringe republicans since the days of Kissenger….lol…and the other Republicans prevented that….

        • AnnieO

Maybe ask Obama campaign to comment on it first.

That would be the Attorney General, Michael B. Mukasey.

The Constitution has the requirements about birth/citizenship for President.

            • AF catfish

But nobody ever verifies it. Each state does it their own way, but I’m in the process of checking and they check for signatures and also media buzz. California says if other states have put you on their ballots, then they’re likely to put you on California’s.

No one bureaucrat checks birth certificate. In fact, I can’t find any bureaucrats that check this. They just assume you were born here.

            • ksclematis

Just had a thought….BO was supposedly a “professor” of Constitutional Law at the U. of Chicago for 10 years. It would be my guess that he would know the qualifications for the office which he seeks….no more said!!

      • AF catfish

Look at this – there IS NO bureaucrat that checks birth certificate!

        Here is Massachusetts:

There are three ways for the names of presidential candidates to be placed on the presidential primary ballot:

        * Candidates may file nomination papers with at least 2500 certified signatures. For primary ballot placement, signatures of at least 2,500 voters must be certified by local election officials and subsequently filed with the Secretary of the Commonwealth.*

        * The Secretary of the Commonwealth may place candidates on the ballot who have been generally advocated or recognized in the national news media.

        * The chairperson of each party’s state committee may designate names to be listed.

        • csuzeq

We should challenge barky’s petition and have the signatures thrown off!

  • stodghie

yup, the republicans will bring up whether obama is actually qualified under the constitution. the campaign will no doubt call it racist as usual. yawn!

    • pew

Well if anyone can get information on Obama would be GWB himself. I’m sure Bush has all the information needed to bring Obama Down imo… I think this thing will help the republicans,if this issue of the BC is not cleared before than.. The material on this site, doesn’t seem to go to far.

  • Thinker

I watched that video and that comment stood out as well.

If Barack is qualified under the Constitution, prove it.

It’s as simple as that. McCain had to do it, so Obama should have to prove it as well.

And while we are at it, let’s see Backtrack medical records as well. Maybe a urine sample while we are at it, lol I have noticed this crackhead physique he’s been wearing lately..

Has the Democratic Party become the haven of Black Liberation Theologists or the Party of Black Liberation Theology?!

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean announced his appointment of Leah D. Daughtry to serve as Chief Executive Officer of the 2008 Democratic National Convention Committee

Leah was delivering the sermon… Below the sanctuary, in the fellowship hall, a banner for slavery reparations proclaimed, “They Owe Us.”

The Black Liberation Theology doctrine and its Black Liberation Theologists have certainly gained power in the Democratic Party. Senator Obama spent twenty-years involved in it, and has recently tried to distance himself from it; however, it is obviously a part of the Democratic Party’s agenda

    • Thinker

      I don’t know about that.

But back to the theme of this thread,

Is Barack Obama qualified under the Constitution to be the President of the United States of America??

    • Darryl

I believe so, but it is self defeating, because the republicans will absorb the left over democrats, just like you see happening now. In the end, most americans will go to the republican side and the republicans will pick up some of the moderate democratic issues.

This is so dumb on the part of the DNC. All they would have to do is pick up a history book to see that movements like these end up only benefiting the other party. Its called a split. Right now we in essense have three parties. Democrats as you describe above. A HUGE independent base made up of moderate republicans and democrats, and die hard republicans. One party will pick up the majority of independents, and the democrats have left the door WIDE open for the republicans. So stupid SOOOO stupid.

  • AnnieO

I love when he says, “You could argue that no one is ever ready to be President.”

What I got from Bill is that he thinks BO is a slick campaigner, but not presidential material.

I can’t wait to hear what he has to say in January! I think he’s only holding back for Hillary’s sake.

Yes, I saw that last night. It was much longer.

He said that Kate Snow had to understand that he didn’t talk now about what happened in the primaries because “it would hurt Obama” and that now thy had to focus on November. He also said about then that

Clinton to campaign solo for Obama in battleground states

WASHINGTON — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton plans to campaign for Barack Obama in Nevada and Florida this month, events expected to be her first solo campaign appearances on Obama’s behalf since she lost the Democratic nomination contest.

The Obama campaign said Tuesday that Clinton will host rallies and voter registration events this Friday in Las Vegas, Nevada, and again in South Florida on Aug. 21

      • Cathy6224

Obama is having Clinton do this so when Obama loses the election in November, he will whine Hillary didn’t campaign hard enough for him and the battleground states and the rest of those that didn’t vote for me are racists.

        • Darryl

This is exactly true…this will happen. They will blame it on Hillary. But they will look like complete fools when they do, because the next question will be…If hillary was the deciding factor on wether you lost or won, then why did the DNC not pick her as the presidential nominee? I can’t wait to hear obama explain that away.

        • bemused

Yet, if she can pull off the nomination, she would have already been out there in the places where he has screwed up, getting her face and message out. So while she is “campaigning” for him she is also campaigning for herself.

          • Thinker

I was thinking about this angle as well.

  • Hillraiser429

I caught that innuendo last night on ABC news. I agree, Bill is far too astute (and, probably, FAR TOO PISSED) not to grab the opportunity to provide a sound bite regarding Obama’s unelectibility. When this all shakes out, it will reveal that the Clinton campaign research team has always had this information on Obama. Being Democrats, they could not do the vetting–and the MSM wouldn’t. It has taken months for responsible citizens like Texas Darlin to gather the necessary resources–BUT SHE DID! Good work.

  • Hope

In this election year, anything is possible. But I’ll be surprised if Bill meant anything other than what he said.

Even if he had knowledge of some problem with Obama’s eligibility, it seems doubtful he would issue secret messages to PUMA in interviews. There would be no practical benefit to his doing that, and it would risk giving the game away.

I’ve been surprised too many times already this year to totaly write the idea off. But it’s a big stretch to make from a single phrase.

No bureaucrat checks birth certificate or driver’s license or anything like that. Filing papers to run just means you have to file financial papers to establish your campaign as a non-profit.

        • FrenchNail

FYI Sarko was born in Paris… from a French mother and a Hungarian father. And anyway, this is the US and we have a constitution to respect (and to protect us). You cannot cherry pick the articles you like and the ones you’ll ignore. But again… GWB and FISA…

      • Hope

Regardless of whether or not President Clinton has knowledge, agrees or disagrees, this problem is Obama’s.
He is the one who constatly provides the public with misinformation and lies. It is incumbent upon him to explain why falsified documents are not only offered as proof against ‘smears’, but that those documents and the entire page of ‘oh no you diin’t’ lies were endlessly advertised in the media.
The likelihood that his sister’s COLB was inadvertently used by someone unbeknownst to Obama is the conspiracy.
And again, Bill Clinton’s perspective is not necessary to form the rationale of Obama being a fraud.

      • Rob in Chicago

But Howard Dean and Donna Brazile working in tandem with the mainstream media, Nancy Pelosi and other Dem insiders, together with helpful suggestions from Donna’s new best friend, Karl Rove…well, those are just figments of our imagination. No conspiracy there…nothing to see here, keep moving to the left.(snark) There may be some conspiracy theories that just don’t add-up, but in this primary campaign, you can do the math.

    The Tire-Gauge Solution: No Joke
Monday, Aug. 04, 2008 By MICHAEL GRUNWALD

How out of touch is Barack Obama? He’s so out of touch that he suggested that if all Americans inflated their tires properly and took their cars for regular tune-ups, they could save as much oil as new offshore drilling would produce. Gleeful Republicans have made this their daily talking point; Rush Limbaugh is having a field day; and the Republican National Committee is sending tire gauges labeled “Barack Obama’s Energy Plan” to Washington reporters.

But who’s really out of touch? The Bush Administration estimates that expanded offshore drilling could increase oil production by 200,000 bbl. per day by 2030. We use about 20 million bbl. per day, so that would meet about 1% of our demand two decades from now. Meanwhile, efficiency experts say that keeping tires inflated can improve gas mileage 3%, and regular maintenance can add another 4%. Many drivers already follow their advice, but if everyone did, we could immediately reduce demand several percentage points. In other words: Obama is right.

    • Hope

Opening up new oil fields in the U.S., even if new supplies won’t actually reach our gas tank for several years, would immediately impact the amount of upward speculation on long-term commodity investment in oil. Oil speculators will see a greater supply ahead and will see that the future of oil is less constrained on the supply side. Moreover, fears of Middle Eastern turmoil or South American unrest that could disrupt supply shipments will be much less of a reason to drive up the price of crude if a stable U.S. can supply millions of barrels of additional oil. Which represents a more stable source of oil, Colorado or Caracas?

In oil shale alone, found in the Green River Formation in parts of Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming, the U.S. has approximately 800 billion barrels of recoverable oil,

or over three times the proven reserves of Saudi Arabia

. This comes from a midpoint estimate in a 2005 RAND study done at the request of the Department of Energy, and a higher end estimate puts the number at over one trillion barrels.

But, by all means, inflate your tires, ottruth..McCain’s got a gauge for you if you need one.

      • Sharon

Yes, but inflating your tires and tuning up your car can save you money NOW.

        • Hope

Thanks for the lecture in the obvious. Hello, we already do those things. Proper car mantenanice will do little to combat a corrupt government in bed with lobbyists and foreign government. We need REAL solutions- the ones that are American made.
Obamessiah cannot save the world by advocating tire pressure , heat control and arugula eating.

          • cdo

We could also do a lot to improve the economy by getting our spending habits under control. If everyone just saved like 5 percent of their monthly income…blah blah blah.

Come on, if people were capable of leading perfectly controlled lives we wouldn’t have a problem with obesity in this country either.

Please contribute workable solutions in the real world, not “if everyone did the responsible thing” scenarios. MANY people drive piece of crap, inefficient cars because they have no other economic alternative.

Was the next suggestion going to be the wonders of mass transit?

          • alexei

Why do you attack a poster because she pointed out that these measures will help (as did Hillary). The problem is not that having proper tire inflation and tune ups and other measures that Americans can and should do, is wrong or insignificant.

The problem is that other than Hillary and a few others, Obama and the Dems can’t articulate an energy policy and allow the Repugs to do their own thuggery. Yes, that stunt in Capital Hill is just classic. The reason we have high gas prices and no “foreseeable” alternatives is because of Bush, Cheney and the Repugs (and Dems like Obama who voted for the Bush/Cheney “Energy” bill).

If we had put our money into alternatives (Luddite energy gets billions of dollars in subsidies), and implemented the common sense measures that every American can do, we wouldn’t be in this mess. Now is the time to implement Hillary’s “Apollo” project for energy, and not waste any more blood, treasure, carbon output and yes, environmental degradation (watch the China Olympics – they are saying that even spectators run a huge risk of getting heart attacks due to the horrendous air pollution).

        • beebop

But the 20 cent gas tax was a pander? Right? Opening up the preserve is nothing but the same damn thing, sweetie!

          • beebop

Sorry, meant RESERVE … RESERVE opening is a pander!

      • http://chriss chris

So the Dems think we should not access this oil. If we had done this in the 70′s after the big gasoline shortages, we’d be fine and probably making money selling the excess oil overseas. But their reasoning of not allowing it will keep pushing the actual usage of our own oil off into the future somewhere. Every day we delay utilizing/exploring all of our options re energy, the longer and farther we fall into the financial hole of dependency. Congress: LET THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DO WHAT THEY ARE THE BEST AT: SOLVING PROBLEMS!!!! We are the best innovators in the world and have been since we became a nation. That’s the spirit we brought from all over the world to create this nation. LET US DO IT.

      • jimbo

Quoth the oil industry. But we need to be free of our oil dependency much sooner than if these off-shore boondoggles ever produce. What’s to say big oil will ever drill, just the same as they haven’t already drilled on millions of acres they already lease. Face it, big oil will use whatever tools it has to its advantage, costing we citizens billions. Nothing will change that. That is why there are so many whores in Congress. The same is true for all non-renewable resources.

    • james

Yep. Unfortunately the tire pressure gauge industry doesn’t seem to have as powerful a set of lobbiests as Big Oil.

Expanded offshore drilling wouldn’t add significantly to the oil supply for about 10 years, and the level of significance is about what you state. Since the oil would be sold on a global market, it wouldn’t have much effect on domestic pump prices.

Suggesting it would effect domestic pump prices at all anytime soon is a scam. What Big Oil actually wants to do is set up a supply they can market to India and China ten or twenty years down the road. They know the Indian and Chinese markets will be keeping world demand high then, even if America moves toward alternative energies.

Have you noticed how oil prices have been falling lately? That will continue as the elections approach. Foreign suppliers are worried about American alternative energy incentives gaining support and the declining state of the U.S. economy. They have suddenly realized they’ve been draining off our blood a little too quickly, and the fact that we’re being bled has become a political issue. They’d prefer that we not think about it so much until the elections are over.

      • WildChild

It’s surprising that BOBO flipped to the tire gauge industry after voting for Cheney’s energy plan and big oil. I guess we’ll have to wait for after they election for BOBO to flop back again.

      • Hope

Falling prices lately? Those prices have also risen greatly during this election cycle as well. Do you lend no credence to the fact that the US being self sufficient in terms of energy (or even maintaining the possibility of doing so) will incur no effect on the market?

        • james

I certainly do. But I’m a bit suspicious when the fact that we’re simply talking about alternative energy suddenly results in sharp declines in the price per barrel on the world market. Demand has admittedly dropped because Americans are driving less, but not enough less to account for the degree of price drops. We’re not seeing a real-time example of the law of supply and demand at work here. It’s something else.

I want a crash program to permanently free us of national dependence on an energy source that will become increasingly harder and more expensive to get, wherever we get it from. If we increase oil production, we simply use up what’s left more quickly.

I also very much like the fact that moving to alternative energies would solve the greenhouse gases problem for us as a side-effect. We wouldn’t need any additional greenhouse gas policy. The shift to inexhaustable, non-polluting solar and wind power would solve the problem for us.

We already have the technologies to make the change, and they could be getting better all the time. All we need is a national commitment to do it.

          • Hope

Well, there I agree with you whole heartedly. Our country has enjoyed the benefits and responsibility of being one of the most resourceful, innovative, foward thinking societies. What we need is a leader who embodies American virtue and ingenuity; not one who looks for the easiest words to placate an electorate hungry to be lead in a positive direction. Advocating tire pressure as comparable to our dependency on foriegn oil is quite insulting.

    • OBSP

Dam, we are enegry independent now! Thank you barry. When I pulled into the service station to fill up, the gas was $4.13 a gallon, I inflated my tires and it went to $3.00 a gallon. That barry’s so dam smart!

    • elise

Driving fifty five mph can save up to 12% and non aggresive driving (weaving in and out of traffic, speeding up and slowing ) can save also. That would be about twice the savings of inflated tires. Wonder why he didn’t mention that?

      • Seattle Moss

        Elise..
I do agree that driving slower can save gas.
However cars today are designed to drive at 63 mph for max efficiency on the highway. Slowing the speed limit will also effect commerce and will have the adverse effect of slowing delivery of goods. In California they always talk about pollution and consrvation but look at the cars on the road.
The cities and countys could time the lights to avoid traffic backups and stopping and starting.
In Phila you drive in on Chestnut st and out on Walnut st and those lights have been timed for years.
There are many ways to use less gas but it will take both the public and the government to use common sense and the auto companies to make engines that get better gas milage.

Lat year I moved from NJ to NY. I had to change my license but when I went to the Dept of Motor vehicles thinking it would be an easy and quick process to exchange a valid license from one state for a license in another state the number of docs required was mind-boggling. In addition to a dozen forms of ID, including my passport, they insisted on an ORIGINAL copy of my birth certificate. I only had a copy of my BC so I had to contact the town i was born in and request another copy with the RAISED SEAL.

I’m just an ordinary citizen and I had to jump through hoops including presenting an original COLB to switch my license. You’d think a candidate for
POTUS would have to do the same.

    • AF catfish

Not so when running for president. It’s just assumed they were born in the U.S. So the forms required are for financial issues.

      • http://firefox AnnieCarmel

When I was a mere clerk typist for the US Army, the FBI did a background check on me. Admittedly the Cold War was still on but I don’t think the standards are that loose for candidates for POTUS. If they are, then we better bring back J. Edgar Hoover.

And it seems to me that it would be under the domain of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to take care of investigating all associations and documents for the candidates. How else would we know whether someone was a foreign agent or not?

I think PUMAs should go to Hillary’s events in LV and South FL and show her (and rest of the world) that we are still with her (and not Princess Obama). Is he afraid to stand on the same stage with her that she will upstage him? Is that why it is a solo? Then we should populate with PUMAs and show the rest of the world she is still our candidate. Then may be O’s campaign might not harass her to do more of these events.

    • Sharon

Don’t waste your time. Hillary doesn’t want to be associated with PUMA if you haven’t noticed.

        Non-sense.

          • eurogirl70

            Sharon:

Your comments are naive and juvenile. Hillary and Bill have been involved in politics since before you were born. So many of you Obama supporters say that one of the main reasons you support him is that he’s “new” and has not been “tainted” by the “politics of personal destruction”. Yet, now I see and hear many Obama supporters who want Hillary to come out and do his dirty work for him. Ed Schultz and others in the so-called “progressive” media are now saying that Hillary needs to “get off her fanny” and come to Obama’ defense. If Hillary changed her mind on an issue it was called triangulation. When Obama flips its’ called nuance. When Hillary comes out swinging, its called hysteria. When Obama comes out swinging its’ called strength.

So I take it then that it was Bill and Hillary’s responsibility to defend Kerry’s war record so that he could play his role as “Boston Bhrahmin”? Hillary knows how the game is played and if you think that she doesn’t know that Obama has been “gaming” the system then I have some Florida swampland you might be interested in. Just because she doesn’t come out and directly support PUMA does not mean that she hasn’t done everything in her power to come to the defense of her supporters who have felt voiceless since she suspended her campaign.

Please try and educate yourself on these issues a bit more. I know you probably think that all of us are inbred, bible thumpging fake Democrats. Let me assure you that we run the gambit. But, speaking only for my self as a 38 year old, liberal lesbian with an M.A. in International Relations, and who lives inside the Capitol Beltway and have seen these political players up close; I have as much use for you and your disdain as I do sex with a man. Sharon, your comment PUMA=Embarrassment for Hillary is completely unfounded and ridiculous. Hillary has to go along with the Democratic Party program now if she wants party support in 2012 after BO’s catastrophic 2008 loss.

      • beebop

Why? Because they don’t do anything “classy” like faint or vandalize personal property that belongs to others? They don’t bring down websites or bully? Is that what you think PUMA should do to show HRC their support?

ABC News’ Sarah Amos reports: Bill Clinton began a busy day of campaigning today in Elk Point, S. D., by taking a moment to mention the DNC Rules Committee meeting that is currently under way in Washington, D.C. “This has been an amazing election, and it has come down to the end, and you and Montana and Puerto Rico are going to be the last three places to vote. I think that we are going to have an unusual outcome,” said Clinton, in regards to the Democratic primary process coming to an end next week.

This is what Bill Clinton said back in May. Did he know then there was something up with the COLB?

  • insix

Heck, us Repubs even know, ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING a Clinton says was ment to be said. Nothing said is an accident with a Clinton.

Big Dawg has always been such a sharp shooter.

Zooms right in at the heart of the matter and hits the bulls eye nearly every single time.

    • bemused

And he had such a twinkle in his eyes, like the interviewer had just handed him the perfect opportunity to slip in this slightly off-the-focus remark.

  • justsomeone

Too bad the MSM doesn’t ask Pres. Clinton what he thinks about his advocacy for the Community Reinvestment Act now that housing prices are down 17%, forclosures are rising & we can’t have a stronger dollar to hedge against commodity inflation cause of the mortgage mess, or was crashing the housing market supposed to create affordable housing? Helping the poor at the expense of the middle class? That’s a theory I can get my mind around.

    • Thinker

too bad the media doesn’t sit down and ask Obama why he flip-flopped on FISA, after saying that he wouldn’t support it, and now AT&T is the official wireless sponsor of the DNC convention?

Let’s also ask Obama why he voted against capping credit card interest rates at 33%, – and he wonders why he has a problem with the working class voters?

Let’s ask Obama about where he was on those EXACT specific dates that Larry Sinclair said he was fu**ing him too.

      :)

    • elise

There were fewer homes foreclosed in the Clinton administration because income was adjusted for inflation and there wasn’t a national debt. The price of new homes has risen over the last eight years and the parity of income (especially for minorities) has been widening, except for the years Bill Clinton was president. Included is a link to a government report prepared by Harvard. So, yes. I think Pres. Clinton would have a lot of things to say, but not what you would want to hear.

  • Greg

How funny, I thought the exact same thing when I saw this interview the other day!

  • AnnieO

Don’t get too excited yet because I don’t know if the posted BC is really the smoking gun. Even if it is a fraudulent post on that particular website, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he is doesn’t meet the citizenship requirement; I think it just means he posted a phony to avoid questions about his religion. Of course, that would lead to some bad press, but other die-hards will still be there to defend him against “religious intolerance” and “racism.”

    Just something to consider.

  • Southern Belle

I am sure this has been covered before, but can someone tell me is BHO’s mother and father are still alive?

Also, just the fact that TechDude’s tires have been slashed and a dead rabbit turned up on the porch is evidence in and of itself that there is definitely a coverup in the COLB. Otherwise, BHO would produce the authentic COLB and put all of this to rest!

So, why won’t he produce the authentic document? Is it because he was not born in Hawaii and therefore, is not eligible to become president of this country? Or is it because he changed his name to a Muslim name, which directly ties him to Islam? What other reasons could there be for such a coverup?

    • Darryl

It is my belief that his mother never filed for a birth certificate. You have to register for a birth certificate and it has to be approved by the state.

I bet you that after his mother had him, she couldn’t keep him due to the fact of back then it was bad to even have a baby without the father but she had a mixed baby. So she sent him off to indonesia and never filed for the official birth certificate. Later on after the civil rights movement, she wanted him back after seeing that he may be a trophy of that resistance against the establishment. But when he came back, he couldn’t get his official birth certificate because he had citizenship in Indonesia. I can really imagine that occuring. I bet Obama doesn’t have a real birth certificate cause he never got one. Sure he can prove he was born in Hawaii, no problem, but thats not the same as being officially reconized by the state as having been born in AND claiming citizenship rights at the same time. Its a two step proccess, you get born, then your mother files for recognition from the US for natural born citizenship. You have to go through both to be recognized, just being born isn’t the only qualification.

    • jbjd

BO’s birth parents are dead; his adoptive father is dead. An adoption in Indonesia would render an original Hawaiian birth certificate moot; the document is sealed, and replaced with a certificate bearing the new (adoptive) name. Adoption in Indonesia renders BO a citizen of that country, whose legal system denies dual citizenship. In cases where dual citizenship is an issue, the U.S. defers to the laws of the other sovereign. So, even granting that BO at one time was a legal citizen of the U.S., he lost that status when he was adopted. And some people speculate the reason BO appears unwilling to disclose the birth certificate that reveals his adoptive name is that it presumptively means he is not a citizen of the United States.

      • Darryl

This sounds like the most likely reason. I think that in the end, this is what is going to happen.

I think Obama suffers from extreme narcissism. I think that he believes that he is so great the rules don’t apply to him. I think alot of people in the government are praying that he looses the election so they don’t have to call him on this. But I think in the end, they are going to have to force him to quit. It will be a very violent scene in my opinion.

      • FrenchNail

Yes, I believe that is probably something of that vintage, except that in case of dual citizenship the US defer to the law of the other sovereign by not forcing prevalence of one citizenship over the other. So I go back to a previous comment distinguishing between being born in the States and having the parent/s applying for an US Birth Certificate. If such was never done and if OB was thereafter adopted by his Indonesian step-father, Oooops, major gray area, major problem. Hence the cover-up.

    • ritamary

BO’s mother died of cancer several years ago and his father died while driving under the influence.

Howler of the day — from a writer at Slate:

My point is that any discussion of Obama’s “skinniness” and its impact on the typical American voter can’t avoid being interpreted as a coded discussion of race.

    http://www.slate.com/id/2196756/?from=rss

What will the Obamanauts think of next?

    • Darryl

Now this is crazy, but I think his “skinniness” is actually him fasting. He may be christain, but remember, he went to a church that celebrated “african Heritage” and part of that is the muslim faith. I bet you a million dollars he fasts as part of his neo-cristain beliefs.

    • Darryl

They only other reason may be that he still uses coccaine or some other stimulant.

      • Linda C.

Or he could just be “skinny”….Even Freud said a cigar is sometimes just a cigar.

Fasting is also done in the Christian religioun..BTW if anyone is before Vatican II. Protestant denominations also fast, but it is on an individual parishioner or congregational basis.

Muslims have one month of fasting from sun up to sun down and that also includes no water. However, they also eat very well after sun down. Other than that there is no regular fasting

This is why we need to pay more attention in school.

The FEC is entrusted to oversee the financing of elections.

    Elections take place in states.

States, through executive officers, usually the Secretary of State, promulgate rules and regulations for conducting elections and for running for state and federal office, including POTUS.

In order to qualify to get on the ballot in Massachusetts, for example, to run for U.S. Senator, you must be a U.S. citizen for 9 years; for U.S. Representative, you must be a U.S. citizen for 7 years.

Challenges to ballot nominations must be made by registered voters in that state. Reasons for past challenges have included forged signatures,
candidate does not meet legal requirements, signers not registered voters.

Fortunately, Obama is a US Senator and his life still evolves around the Senate Ethics rules.

If Obama has solicited funds as a US Senator for any purpose illegally, such as funds for running for President when he isn’t qualified due to illegal status such as being a foreign born citizen or carring duel citizenship does fall under the US Senate Ethics Commitee.

Obama as a US Senator is also responsable for all matters concerning his activities and his placing a forged false government document is considered unethical, even if it was done by one of Obama’s staff, it still falls under Obama’s responsability as though Obama placed the fraudulant document there himself.

A group such as PUMA can demand an investigation by the Senate ethics commitee to investigate the actions of Obama if they are viable and not becoming a US Senator.

everybody has a right to run for president as long as they’re qualified under the Constitution” grabbed my attention too. Perhaps it was because I already knew BO’s qualifications were questionable, but I definitely think Bill Clinton emphasized it.

During the debates, Bill Clinton was absolutely right and entitled to be angry, over Obama being held to a different standard. It was only the media that made a big deal out of his being angry. Didn’t bother me when I heard him. I cried out, “Right on, Bill!”

Just a note here regarding contacting officals. I have been sending emails, letters, faxes, etc., to Superdelegates letting them know how I feel as an American and how I will vote based upon their actions. Example below. Do it your way, but say something to these people, they need to know that WE KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON and will will not put up with it when their seats come up for re-election.

    Dear (officals name),

I have always respected you and I wish you well in your future pursuits. I do, however, take issue with elected officials that have been supporting Barack Obama for president. He has become a growing problem with many, many issues that I find extremely problematic and unfortunately his issues become part of the issues of those that support him. That is a problem to me and certainly to you as an elected official.

As a Democrat I want to support you (and others) going forward but when I see an elected offical stand up in support of someone as blatantly problematic as Obama, I question the integrity of the supporter. I cannot imagine that you are unaware of Obama’s many issues. I know you are aware of at least some and a few of them that completely disqualify him as a candidate. I will not bother listing them all here but two major issues are screaming for me to avoid Barack Obama at all costs:

    1) His dual citizenship (former or presently with Indonesia) disqualifies him to be president under Article II of the Constitution of the United States because of an allegiance issue with the United States. He cannot have served two masters — ever –and be President of the United States.

    2) His campaigning for his cousin Raila Odinga in Kenya, Africa, in 2006. As you know, Odinga has been trying to overthrow the US-backed democratic government in Kenya and Obama campaigned for this guy.

Both of the above issues are alarms that are ringing constantly that Obama is not the person to hand our nation over to. And, Obama’s own words and actions of late have added fuel to the fire that is burning out of control with regards to his candidacy.

This blind following of a selected democratic candidate by the DNC and other intelligent lawmakers is sad, yes, but worse it is extremely unAmerican.

I will continue to follow your comments and actions going forward because I am an American citizen and this country does not belong to the few who attempt to manipulate it. I want to make sure only qualified candidates represent us in Washington. The DNC has put a lot of people like yourself into a very difficult position but it is up to each of you to follow what is good and right and real, not what is suggested by your party … or what is suggested by the amount of money given to you. I fully believe in ‘country first’ over party politics and no one, absolutely no one, will get my vote for any office that does not put country ahead of party nonsense.

Thus far the DNC has been a sham of a party, pushing a candidate toward the White House that is an obvious wrong choice. At nearly 57 years of age I have never been so ashamed of the Democratic Party. Our party will lose in November if this continues and anyone following this lost candidate will also suffer the consequences in how we, the citizens of the United States, vote regarding your current seat. There are millions of us that are marching toward sanity and we will not allow insane politics to rule this nation forever.

Thanks for listening. I have not yet given up on you. Hopefully you will do what is right for America and not what our party suggests is right for the Democratic Party. If you cannot see the difference, you need to open your eyes.

    • Thinker

we should all use this as a template when we write the DNC and others. (using our own age of course, lol)

It is the AA community’s responsibility to ask Obama to step down.
They blindly supported him without checking him out.
They took his backers money and sold their souls.
    Rev. Manning’s statement, not mine.

Frankly, when I consider black Americans that are civil servants like Ron Brown, Powell, and many more, Obama is an embarrassment.

Really, he should reconcile himself to being another “Frank” and float around the “nose in the air” intellectual crowd at the local University for the rest of his life.

    • sisterdo

      It’s not the AA community.

Iowa and regular celebrities like Oprah provided the first ever viable AA candidate because they were voting for him.

Obama’s shameful race baiting did the rest. But, this is not the express fault of AA people and it’s harder for an AA to not support him than it was for Bill Clinton. The AA community cannot do anything now, he’s purposefully done this through his baiting.

The baiting incidentally, shamefully comes from Axelrod, Obarky, Markos, Arianna, Chris Matthews, and formerly Tim Russert.

Please have mercy on the position the AA community has been put in by this fraud and the elitists who look down on everyone who have made him the candidate an AA is compelled to vote for, or face Bill Clinton’s fate in reverse.

  • ablebodied

Oh…he is sharp, that Bill Clinton. Oh…how dull the blondie (no offense to other blondes or blonds) is. Did you see how he set it up…you guys and your anonymous sources…teh suck much? Then she brings out…some of your supporters think you hurt Hillary’s chances…which supporters would that be?…(with news clip at the ready)…this guy!! Oh, that guy is not her supporter, never was…and he was a good friend. Ohhh…I see your point…moving on to other inanity.

Oh. that BJ Clinton is sharp. I don’t think they, the media overlords, hate him. I think they just can’t get him, can’t destroy him, beat him down, make him surrender, make him quit, make him submit to their power …reminds me of someone else named ‘Clinton’.

    • Heather

Yes! You’re right. He doesn’t bow down to them and that chaps their hides.

  • Lucinda

My favorite part of the clip. The interviewer says, “But Jim Clyburn is a friend of yours.” Bill responds, “He used to be.” Clintons don’t forget anything.

    • Bigtime

Bill can not take a backstabbing and forget it like he used to. Some of my friends called me racist and told lies about me too, of course those friends do not come by anymore or I will cuss them out again :) ~~~

Those that paid attention during the primaries are pissed and rightly so.

    • FranSC

The thing I love about it is Bill can now say pretty much whatever the hell he wants to say and the Clyburns’, Braziles’, Deans’, Pelosis’, McCaskills’, et al, of the world have to take it – the reason being, they NOW need both Bill and Hillary a heck of a lot more than they need them. While I don’t think these traders have a clue of the depth of this sitting-down-in-the-middle-of-the-road that is taking place, they have had a wif or two of it, and I believe they now know way too many people were paying close attention and are on to them. I understand that MoveOn.Org is saying, “We now OWN the democratic party”. This group of mostly young white males are as bad as any skin-heads I have ever heard of, yet they think they have just helped ‘save the world’.

  • scorbs

The thing is, it’s hard to believe the FBI hasn’t checked Obama already and if there were a problem, we’d know. So I don’t know that this birth certificate keruffle has a lot of substance.

  • scorbs

Clinton’s probably referring to Obama’s withholding information and the press not pressing for it, the way they would with any other candidate. Look at the birth certificate issue, the state senate records, the slow release tax returns, the tithing to the Wright church suggesting support of Wright’s theology, etc. etc.

    • Ferdberfle

That Oblahblah is a shifty character all right. I have never trusted him. He doesn’t make eye contact, shifts around a lot, and has an oily aura about him..

  • Sassy

I do find President Clinton’s remark very interesting. Would not a former president though, be more able to find information such as this than an ordinary smoe? Personally, I would like for the “O” to be ineligible, and for Hillary to tell these back-stabbing a&&s to find themselves another “patsy” to serve!
They absolutely HAD to have her out of the race, SO the one could start his victory lap! She won’t…but I would tell them to put it where the sun don’t shine!!!

Judah Benjamin said in his report that it is a curiousity in the law that actually you can run for President unqualified, but it’s only AFTER you get your party’s nomination that you can then be challenged as to your qualifications. So, AF Catfish, plenty of challenges will be forthcoming and soon. AND it does matter that constitutional requirements are met. It will take an amendment to the constitution to let a non citizen, or dual citizen, or a U.S. national (versus a U.S. citizen) become President, and I don’t see that happening in the near future.

  • addicted to NQ

A bit OT, but he’s amazing. Dropping a hint at Voldebama’s possibly not being qualified, and later getting a subtle dig in at the man who didn’t fight in 2000.

“You could argue that even if you’ve been Vice-President for eight years, that no one can ever be fully ready for the pressures of the office…”

Yep, I’m old, and bitter, and liked the Gore slam.

Back on topic: Is investigative journalism dead? Where is the msm on the topic of a candidate meeting constitutional requirements for the presidency?

  • Ronda

This longtime Clinton Supporter from the 1992 NH Primary does not blame Bill at all for any of the BS
that went on during the Primaries/Caucuses. Grrrr…
that pisses me off when people twist things around.
He knows what happened but he can’t say b/c they’ll twist that, too. And we know the media isn’t going to come clean.

  • Loveharriet

I want Hillary back! Obama is a hypocrite and everyone is a racist who does not support him. I am black and will not vote for him even if Hillary is on the ticket. Why don’t her and Bill work with the Independent Party and build it up.

Obama and Clyburn is the only “RACIST.”

    Cult Leader and follower.

    McCain 2008 or Hillary 2008!

    • memi

      LoveHarriet…exactly what I just wrote!

A THIRD PARTY — the Puma should be given birth. Universal Health care in Canada was voted in 1965 because of the Third Party (NDP) and this wonderful man TOMMY DOUGLAS (a minister’s son) who pushed a minority government to adopt it!

Hillary’s plan is similar. She CARES! She cared about family issues–REAL issues that make a country great. Obama cares about Himself!

this woman reporter.. i don’t know what to call her to keep it on the polite level.. i find her to be a highly ignorant typical worthless empty rank and file national enquirer grade b reporter.

as my pappy used to say, she doesn’t know shit from apple butter-

sad she got the opportunity to even get near pres clinton with these standard typical empty rhetoric attacks against he and hil-

      BJ,

As bad as she was, she doesn’t compare with Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, that Barnikle guy, Tim Russert (God rest his soul), Chuck Todd…and on and on…

  • dee4hill

The msm propagated the “Obama is the new JFK” myth. But the truth is… Hillary and Bill Clinton are the most astute politicians in a century. Obama is not worthy to have their shoes wiped on him.

Does Bill know something about Obama’s birth certificate? I think he does. Hopefully, some brave investigative reporter will bring it to the masses or maybe, somewhere in smoke-filled back rooms, the “powers that be” are poised, ready to knock the wind out Oblowme’s sails. Stranger things have happened.

    Bill… You Rule!!!

    Hillary or McCain ’08!!!

  • vinnie

man, I miss the big D.

    • Seattle Moss

      We all do!

Could you imagine if Bill had been elected to a third term. How different this country would be.

  • FranSC

I am quite sure the Clintons’ read NOQuarter since it is the most provocative of them all! Congrats to you Larry for that! Dee4Hill is quite right about the Clintons’ being “most astute politicians in a century”. They know that Move-on.Org is responsible for the lurid Obama fundraising as well as organizing the caucuses for takeover by these “young white men” thugs. I submit it was Howard Dean’s premature demise of his 2004 campaign strategy that he had worked on like a mad scientist that has propelled the Obama success. I doubt he offered the same idea to Hillary. Dean now calls it the 50-state strategy that he is convinced will be successful. He could not have done it without his buddies from 2004 at Move-on.Org.

If Obama lost any right to American citizenship he had when his mother married Soetero and assumed Indonesian citizenship, thereby making Obama an Indonesian citizen from that point onward, he would have had to become a naturalized American citizen to even be a Senator. Doubt that happened. Could be he will not only be disqualified from his Presidential run, but also booted out of the Senate.

  • pew

Anyone hear Campbell Brown, talk to her panel tonite, about Bill Clinton’s interview with ABC…Campbell said, that Bill Clinton confirmed that Obama was qualified under the constitution… I couldn’t believe her words…I didn’t interpet,Clinton’s message that way… I thought he said, Anyone can run,as long as they are qualified under the constitution….Nothing like putting words in his mouth…. Who is she trying to protect…

    Go Clinton

Truthfully, birth certificate isn’t even required to run for president.

You just need petition signatures and at least in some states “The Secretary of the Commonwealth may place candidates on the ballot who have been generally advocated or recognized in the national news media.” So a foreign-born person could run for president.

However, there is a constitutional requirement.

I believe that the chance of proving anything conclusive in this is less than 30%, but I don’t begrudge people trying.

I, for one, found Bill Clinton’s words extremely curious.
