Hillary, Iron My Shirts. Gone Fishin’. xo, Barack

That queasy feeling is upon me. The reason why follows courtesy of CNN’s Political Ticker:

(CNN) – Hillary Clinton will campaign for Barack Obama on two dates in August, the Obama campaign announced Tuesday.

She will hold rallies and voter registration drives in the swing states of Nevada and Florida on August 8 and 21, respectively. Obama won’t attend Friday’s event since he is taking a planned vacation with his family — and it’s not yet clear whether he’ll be at the latter date, which falls just days before the Democratic convention in Denver.
Obama has said on several occasions that he hopes for both Bill and Hillary Clinton’s help campaigning to win in November.

“I am proud to call [Hillary] my friend, and I know that I desperately need her and Bill Clinton involved in this campaign,” Obama said in New York.

I think that is the first truth I have heard out of Senator Obama’s mouth in a while – he desperately needs Hill and Bill to campaign for him. Desperate is the correct word. Otherwise, I doubt we would hear anything of the kind from him.

I guess he saw his internal polling numbers and they don’t look so good.

Perhaps Barack shouldn’t have allowed his surrogates to dish the Clintons up a crap sandwich every day for six months, besmirching their character and smiling as his supporters booed her and called Senator Clinton and her voters every filthy name in the book. Something many of them still feel compelled to do. Unwise, n’est-ce pas?

And, by the way, Senator Obama still hasn’t bothered to call Bill to apologize for letting him be called a racist for six months either, has he?

Here’s my favorite blog comment to CNN’s article:

Obama takes a lot of vacations doesn’t he?

Hey, when the going gets tough, just take a vacation! President Bush likes those, too. Why, he’s chopped so many cedars in Texas, I’m surprised there are any left!

Doesn’t it strike you as odd that Senator Obama has time for another getaway? He and Senator McCain are in a dead heat in the polls. The DNC knows those are disastrous numbers for any Democrat at this time in the campaign. In this ‘no-lose’ year for the Democrats, shouldn’t he be twenty points ahead?

Why isn’t he? According to the oh-so-clever pundit class, it must be a bunch of us old, racist, bitter hags. But I thought there were only a few of us ‘deadenders’?

I mean the DNC felt fine about nominating the weaker candidate, thinking they could put Paris Hilton on the ticket and win in ’08! Oh, I forgot. That’s what they did!!

It’s so nice that Paris… I mean Barack, gets some time to put his feet up. But Hillary just can’t seem to catch a break. Wasn’t her trip cut short in June because she was needed back in the Senate for important votes? Something Barry can rarely be bothered with. He’s missed over 40% of them. See, the problem is – he can’t just vote “present” any more.

Perhaps Obama could come back a day early and squeeze in one of those town hall meetings with McCain he once said he’d be more than happy to do.

I am curious to know why Senator Clinton is supposed to campaign for him when he gets to take some more time off. She isn’t even the candidate. She still keeps a schedule that makes the man look pale. But like a dutiful mother cleaning up after an errant son home on college break, Hillary feels compelled to throw out the garbage, wash his shirts and vacuum his room.

I know it is the custom for the loser to campaign for the winner of the nomination. The problem is – Obama didn’t win. Since neither of them have enough pledged delegates to claim the nod, she was forced, with a figurative gun to her head, to concede in order to ‘protect the Party.’

And what a Party it is! The DNC stood idly by while Hillary was daily vilified in the press, simultaneously providing unprecedented political cover for a flip-flopping, dissembling novice. I have never seen any candidate receive the treatment and level of disrespect that Hillary did from a fellow candidate. Obama and his campaign manager, David Axelrod, used Rove-ian tactics, accusing her of the dirty tricks they themselves were playing.

And now Obama wants to seat all of the Florida and Michigan delegates — which would make them a hair’s breadth apart in pledged delegates. Possibly Senator Obama is doing this because he just noticed the latest numbers in Florida. Who is the presumptive nominee, again?

It is unconscionable that Senator Clinton should waste a moment of her time in this effort, although I understand her deep party loyalty. Perhaps she feels she needs to ‘go home with the guy what brung her.’ In this case, that guy left her naked by the side of the road to find her own way home.

Good Democrat that Hillary is, even if she asks me to vote for him, three things prevent me from obliging: Obama’s policies that shift with every new breeze, his gross inexperience and his condescending behavior.

I am reminded of the day he went out golfing when she was giving her concession/suspension speech. And he made sure everybody knew that’s what he was doing. I wonder if the ever-arrogant Il Duce is getting a perverse sense of satisfaction knowing that she is campaigning for him while he is off sipping a cold one.

Then again, maybe he really needs the time off. Maybe the schedule is too grueling and he can’t hack it. What the hell does he think he’s going to do if he gets to the White House? Oh yeah: Delegate.

First we had eight years of The Decider.

Now we have The Delegater.

Can’t wait.

Hillary’s a woman of her word. Good Karma.
We still all know the real winner here. Rise Hillary Rise!

    • Lou

Hey wait a minute. That may be true Hillary is a woman of her word but the convention is not over.
Never has anyone stumped for their rival before convention is over. Fraudbama is not even the nominee!
I feel so betrayed by Hillary too. She is not fighting to get on roll call or fight for Democracy.
I don’t want token convention to ‘holler and scream’. Cancel the darn thing if he is going to already be chosen. There is no point in having it.
Patronizing Hillary delegates for a phony vote at the convention is insulting.
Are you tired of the insults?
      Stop taking it laying down.
Hillary betrays us now too by not fighting back?
She has the most votes in all the blue states.
He does not have enough of the required pledged delegates to be the preumptive nominee.
Why is she allowing herself to step down before the convention? What’s the point of even having a convention if she has endoresed him?
      For chris-sakes.
Why should she take the abuse from a deranged candidate and deranged DNC?

Perry posted this downstairs for all of us livid voters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JrHKrSfkxM

      • roseeriter

I understand your anger and am puzzled, but we don’t know what’s shes thinking.

I’m not going to presume anything about her stumping for the asshole. Do I like it? Absolutely not.

        • Lou

Same old thing. She wants something and is not saying.

        • http://! Clinton Fan

She’s keeping a promise. She’s not going to be seen as the one who crashed/burned the party–she’s going to make sure that falls on OBAMA’S deserved and desperate head.

Anyone who encourages us to disrespect Hillary Clinton has their OWN agenda. And it contradicts the agenda of all but the trollish amongst us.

Hillary has intelligent supporters. They don’t take “orders” from the Queen Bee like some bots do from the Head Hivemasters in Obamaland, and they don’t all swing like a battleship in unison. They see the situation as it is, how it has played out, and act accordingly. For some, that means staying home on election day, or simply not voting for the Democrat on the ticket top–even if they leave it blank (not recommended, write in yourself if you have to) to voting for a fringe candidate, to writing in Clinton, to voting for McCain.

In my view, supporting Obama, who’s just like Bush, VACATIONS AND ALL, is no option. He’s Bush III, if you look at his votes and views–he just conceals it with a lot of flipping and flopping.

      • mystic4hillpuma

I’m with you, Lou. I’m not happy with Hillary at the moment, and I’ve sent a couple emails to her campaign to let her know it! I can’t believe she’s campaigning for The Pretender while he’s on vacation. If she does have an agenda, I wish she’d share it.

I will NEVER vote for Obama.

It’s Hillary or John, that’s it.

By the way, I may be angry at Hillary, but I love her still and think she’s brilliant!

        PUMA Power!

        • WIldChild

She gave her word that she would campaign for BOBO. She’s keeping it.

          • Lou

Bad timing..before the convention is not right.
No one has ever done this before!

            • http://insightanalytical.wordpress.com Gloria

She’s doing two events in NM, too…with Richardson….at least, the last time I heard she was…supposedly, he’s helping her with her debt….

            • georgiapeach

Maybe she volunteered to campaign during his vacation so she wouldn’t have to make a joint appearance with him, and there would be a built in excuse for it that the press wouldn’t question. I wouldn’t blame her if she didn’t want to be seen with him.

              • http://! Clinton Fan

BINGO–there’s the smartest Peach in the room, right there!!!!!!!

What better way to be able to point to an instance of providing reasonably early support, and at the same time, you don’t have to have any of that General Election Disaster stink all over you?

            • WIldChild

Keeping your word is life or death to a public servant. She’s keeping her word and the pain of doing so will pass.

          • mystic4hillpuma

She also gave her word to keep fighting for us if we wanted her to, and I think it’s been made pretty clear that we want her to. So, personally, I think her word to us is more important right now than her word to the DNC, who’s done nothing but stab her in the back from day 1.

        • Lou

She won’t fight for us for roll call? She got more than the stated 18 million votes if you count all the ones that were in the trash bin.

          • Ani

She absolutely wants a roll call and she wants her name put into nomination!!! She has said so.

She is doing voter registration rallies – that benefits whoever the Democratic nominee is — don’t forget that!!

          • elise

You are not speaking for me, Lou and I’m even beginning to smell “alligater tears”. My life has been turbulent, but I wouldn’t dare compare anything I have been through to the last year and a half in her life. How many times have you had to look at newspaper and see the lies and misrepresentations so that every word coming out of your mouth is like a landmine? Or, your daughter and your wife/husband picked apart, analyzed every day for a slip of the tongue or display of anger? Either you believe in her or you don’t. She has either proven her character to you or she hasn’t, but this much is true. She is not done even though they are still hammering away at her. John McCain is a second choice for me. That was a personal decision for me, but I don’t like him, won’t justfy his policies and won’t advocate for him. It was a stratigic decision. How can I turn around and judge Hillary’s choices? I will not be hypocritical and she has kept her word. She said from the beginning she would support the nominee.

            • http://! Clinton Fan

Lou is a fucking troll. Ignore Lou. Everyone else does…that’s why he’s here, making trouble–he can’t get any attention in “real life.”

This tactic is the pudpullers’ latest desperate attempt, to “trash” Clinton by saying she’s betrayed “us.” You will find them scattered here and there–they may well all be Lou, engaging in sockpuppetry.

Problem with that is, “us” isn’t a borg, like those fucking nitwits over in Obamaland. They try to take their own frantic feelings and overlay them on this group, which is quite diverse and has in common that we think Clinton got fucked and we think Obama’s an idiot. No amount of trashing Clinton will suddenly make Obama “not” an idiot.

They can’t fathom that. Because, you see, they are idiots, too.

        • Brodie

Gee- maybe what she’s doing is campaigning for herself… I mean, it’ll be right before the convention, so the delegates & SDs will have that image in their minds going into Denver of Hillary out there being REAL and getting the job done. I’m wondering if that wouldn’t give her the momentum and take it from him. I know if I were the presumptive nominee, I wouldn’t let a person who could so seriously upstage me go out in my stead just then. Sounds dangerous for Barky- maybe he is just too stupid to get it. As an entertainer I know it really matters who the warm-up act is. I’ve seen the crowd go home after the warm-up and walk out on the main act. Think about that, Lou. Just sayin’.

      • pasmalltowngirl

Lou, I agree. I understand that Hillary has to be the obedient Democrat. But for God’s sake, we are talking about our lives , our future, our children’s future. This country is in a major crisis and the people that we have elected to serve us are playing fn games. If Hillary or Bill know something about Barry and are sitting on it, in hopes of the repubs or anyone else coming out with it. OR, if the repubs are holding out until after the convention, they are not doing their elected duty. They are playing with our lives. To me, that will be unforgivable. If they have any chit on Barry they need to bring it out now. The longer this insanity continues, the damage that it has created, might be irreversible.

        • http://confloyd connie floyd

You are right, it seems as though both parties could care less about what we are going through. We were cheated out of having Hillary as our nominee and then you have the republicans who always say they are the ones who know whats best for America, then they are sitting on information that could disqualify the most dangerous candidate America has ever had just to beat Hillary out of the nomination. THey dont want to go against her. OMG, what is wrong with our government, they are all power-hungry jerks that only care themselves and their seat. We need to clean all the jerks out, PDQ! If they were true Americans they would ditch this jerk and his money people quickly!

      • OBSP

Lou, I respect your postings, but you she could not fight. It would be worst than 1968 & 1980 combined.
They are going to blame the Clinton’s anyway once he gets his butt kick so why give them more fuel for their fire.

        • Lou

They need to blmae their own damned selves.
Let them try and live without Hillary’s input as a leader..they’ll all be the laughing stock.

Cancel the convention then. There is no point in having it if they already have a nominee.
Like they are saying he won when he didn’t.
What do they think that we are stupid?

          • http://confloyd connie floyd

Cancel the convention,we have already wasted way too much money on the fixed primary. Why not save it and give it to the folks that are paying these high prices for gas. Better yet, give back all that money to those people who gave to their candidates. The whole thing was fixed in the beginning anyway. The DNC screwed the democrats into putting their hard earned money on a race that had already been decided way before the thing even kicked off! Isn’t that fraudulent. I wonder if we could find a lawyer that would represent all of us who gave to the fixed primary??

            • Lou

I was thinking of the same thing last night Connie. All you have to do is contact the campaign and ask for your money back. If this were after convention it’d be a different story.

              • http://! Clinton Fan

All you have to do is contact the campaign and ask for your money back???
Why don’t you contact the lobotomist and ask for your brain back, ya troll.

          • pasmalltowngirl

Let them blame the Clinton’s. The majority of Americans know what is going on. Anyone with any INTELLIGIENCE knows it is not the Clinton’s playing the race card, IT IS OBAMA. If the super-d’s are to afraid or are being black-mailed to drink the kool-aid, we don’t NEED or WANT them anyway. Bring it all out. Let the chips fall were they may. The entire WORLD is probably laughing at us. ENOUGH ALL READY !!!

      • georgiapeach

Hillary knows the writing is on the wall. She knows, as we all should, what to expect from the current crop of spineless, chicken-shit Dems. I don’t think they would have the backbone to stand up and do what they know they should do, even if Obama dropped to 30% in the polls by then. If she fights to get on the roll call, or anything else, she would be branded a sore loser, That label would follow her the rest of her career, if it didn’t end it. She is a skilled politician, and I suspect that she has done, and will continue to do, just enough to position herself for another run in 2012.

    • carol

Please don’t insult Paris or Britney – these woman may have a few age related issues, but they are smart every day on the way to the bank.

BO is going on vacation instead of visiting the FORT HOOD event on Monday. I hope McCain and friends bury him for good.

      • yttik

LOL, you tell ‘em. Stop comparing Obama to Paris, that’s not nice! Paris has never left people freezing in public housing for four months. She never came out in support of Cheney’s energy bill. She’s never sleezed it up with Rezko on the taxpayer’s dime.

        • Lou

She’s never dissed whole groups of people.

    • Connie

Hillary, I wish you don’t do the campaigning for him. Kerry did not ask Dean or any of his opponents in the primary to campaign for him. he thinks the world owes him something. But you see Hillary I do respect and admire you but even if you campaign for him or be his VP I will never vote for him because of what the DNC and Democratic leaders did to you and to the voting public. The DNC is just wasting their time. Come November, they will get a dose of ther own medicine, so to speak. (LOL)

  • Prem

With every “move” he makes, OhBlahma reminds me more and more of GWB—-lack of principles and character, arrogant, narcissistic, self-absorbed, himself before country. He’s the true Bush II, not McCain. His actions are making me feel less and less guilty about considering a vote for McCain if Hillary is not the nominee and I’ve never voted Rethug. in my 35 years of voting! Maybe all this “bad” behavior has an upside—bring it on, as disgusting as it is!

    • Salt

I’m in the same place and I will not ever risk a vote, as I did not for George Bush, for a knowingly inept unknown, un qualified, millionaire mansion living oppressed because he’s just different victim, for the Office of President who would also then be co enabling Congress as a role as Bush had of Party Mascot NEVER. Actually that’s the last person I would ever vote for.

Didn’t want have a beer with Bush and don’t want a President just because he’s different.

  • Cahil

Absolutely right on the money, Ani.

I’m surprised Obi hasn’t put a call in to Bush to ask just how much vacation time he should push for.

And isn’t it typical that he would disappear while Hillary is out doing the work. Sort of sounds like his time in the Ill. State Leg. with all his “present” votes.

I’m surprised that racist Bill Clinton doesn’t have time to return from promoting AIDS relief in Africa to fund raise for Presumptuous. What a muttonhead Bill must be.

Well, maybe, just maybe the DNC will figure out what went wrong in October while McCain preps for the White House.

AND now McCain is asking congress to forgo its vacation and work on energy.

So where is BO? Vacationing. (A new game…Where in the World is Barack Obama…hint: not the United States!)

I wonder if he’ll even find the time to drag his poor Grandmother out from under the bus to spend some time with her? – Oh, silly me, only if the Press is allowed to record the warm embrace.

No candidate has ever taken a vacation before a convention. I wondered about his last vacation and now this one. If he just needs a rest, how will he have the stamina to finish the GE or be (God forbid) president? Or is there another reason he needs time off. I am becoming paranoid about everything he does. His BC? Will the press be following him around there? Where’re Brain Williams, Caty Couric and Charles Gibson?

Bush’s August vacation is what brought us 9/11.

    • onlylewis

What brought us 9/11 was all the years in the past that the gov’t ignored these radicals. That includes admins all the why back to peanut man carter. We can not blame just one pres. for that mess. If we continue to ignore them and elect someone that will not be strong in the face of threats 9/11 will be a cake-walk compared to what will come.

No, that is not true. GW is the President responsible for not thwarting the attack; he and his “adults”, ignored the warnings from the Clinton Admin, the CIA etal. Now, if you are saying that the problem is because our foreign policy in the ME has been wrong, then I can agree with you.

And to the forthcoming Obot boast that Clarke is involved with Obama’s campaign, he was also with Reagan, Bush Sr., Bill, and Bush Jr. Further, all of the campaigns are surrounded by people of good and lesser quality. Obama is not all bad: he simply lacks too many of the attributes that are needed to sit as president. Presently, he is of lesser quality.

      • C.S.

There’s culpability and there’s culpability and I don’t think Carter’s failed rescue attempt is in the same league as Reagan’s “arms for hostages” deal. (Lockerbie, South American death squads, Embassy Row bombing in Lybia.)

And comparing the bombing of the Twin Towers during Clinton’s first months of his presidency and the 9/11 attack on NYC and the Pentagon isn’t the same either. Those involved in the 1993 bombing of the Trade Center were caught, tried and convicted and are still in prison. If Bush caught anyone or held any person accountable for all the mistakes leading up to 9/11 it has never been made public.

These morally weak men who became the leaders of our nation are responsible, yes, but it seems our government representatives from the Democratic party are determined to elect a candidate even weaker than GWB even though we never thought that could be possible.

In a way, this is an unusually astute move for Obama. The more people see him, the less they like him. The Clintons, by contrast, might actually pick up a vote or two for the poor guy.

Right on! Until the convention is over, she’s campaigning for herself — grace under fire.

Yes — he cannot be on the same stage with her because she outshines him in every way!

Look at it this way– it’s an opportunity for voters to fall in love with her all over again. They’ll see a real candidate as opposed to “Paris”.

Funny. We’ve had the same thought in our household. It’s like Obama is purposely screwing up to get the presumed nomination taken away.

By the way, I sent an email stating that we would gladly contribute to lower the debt BUT none of us would be voting for Obama in the GE.

        • Annagain

Lou — this is a voter registration drive!!

By the way — ‘never has this been done before?’ Well, when the hell was the convention ever held as LATE as the end of August?

Nothing is the same this year.

Obama is a toad. Anytime we see Hillary on stage instead, it will just remind everyone how much better she is than him. Never give up on Hillary. She knows what she is doing.

Do you really think if the Clintons have any inkling there is a shot, they wouldn’t be taking it? I completely appreciate your feelings here, but there is plenty going on behind the scenes that there is no way you, or I, or anyone here can really know about.

I personally wish she’d tell him to go stick it, but she’s the politician. I’m also sure she is doing what she is doing to continue to fight for her agenda and ours — either as Senator or President.

I have great respect for her and how much courage she has shown. It’s easy for me to sit here and play armchiar quarterback. I can’t imagine the pressure that woman has been under.

I’ve never seen anything like it in a campaign. Have you?

So I’m going to stick with her. (Doesn’t mean I have to vote for Obie and believe me I won’t).

          • Lou

            Annagain:
Don’t you think this pre-convention stumping sends a message to the delegates? Doesn’t it say she is done? All our hard work is for nothing. Why are we even doing the petition now? Doesn’t it send mixed messages to the press and all?

            • Annagain

No — the delegates know what is going on behind the scenes. We do not.

If Hillary wanted PUMAs to stop what they are doing, she would have given a speech in this regard. She has NEVER done so. That is all we need to know.

Appearances are appearances. Some things must be done for show. Whatever the outcome, it is not her fault — we know who we are dealing with here.

All those Democratic big-whigs were certainly good enough for Waffles during the primary as they endorsed his arrogant self left and right, and the DNC/SuperD’s helped shove his Presumptuous behind over the finish line.

Now campaigning for/leading up to the GE, they’re suddenly not good enough any longer?

        Wonder why.

    • Katmoon

It’s his way of putting his foot on her neck in public, one wrong move per the party rules and they can dump her out of the party, but seems to me based on Senator Lieberman’s history they would have a hell of a hard time. But you never know with the good old DNC. I respect what she has to do, but nothing makes me vote for the precious, ever.

  • JS Ruby

I know it won’t happen but I wish Bill an Hillary would tell BO to stuff it. Why even give any effort for this fool. In 2012 the DNC will have changed and the new group might get a clue from the 2008 beating.

    • nomnomnom1

I am afraid the relocation to Chordor has given the DNC an exceptional pipeline to $$: donations in excess of legal amounts and foreign donations. I don’t think even if B-HO loses they are necessarily going anywhere. ugh.

It looks bad for her and is a slap in the face to all the people who love them..

      • Annie Oakley

That’s how I see it. It’s a slap in the face to HRC and her supporters. And given that he DNC has morphed into the Obama Party, and with him playing Sugar Daddy, why should the Clintons stay loyal to the party? Isn’t it a dead end for them? I’d love to see them go independent. Heck, I’d rather see Hillary be McCain’s VP than Obama’s.

    Check this out ev1
    Does this sound familiar

This will be considered off-topic — but it isn’t. I thought I’d share this letter which was sent to the Editor of the Times-Dispatch by a gentlemen who escaped Cuba in the 1960’s. His words come from the experience of believing in someone, without taking the time to know who they really are, and the consequences that followed:

    Subject: Celebration

    From Richmond Times-Dispatch, Monday, July 7, 2008

    Dear Editor, Times-Dispatch:

Each year I get to celebrate Independence Day twice. On June 30 I celebrate my independence day, and on July 4, I celebrate America ’s. This year is special, because it marks the 40th anniversary of my independence.

On June 30, 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba, and a few months later, I was in the United States to stay. That I happened to arrive in Richmond on Thanksgiving Day is just part of the story, but I digress.

I’ve thought a lot about the anniversary this year. The election-year rhetoric has made me think a lot about Cuba and what transpired there. In the late 1950s, most Cubans thought Cuba needed a change, so when a young leader came along, every Cuban was at least receptive.

When the young leader spoke eloquently and passionately and denounced the old system, the press fell in love with him. They never questioned who his friends were or what he really believed in. When he said he would help the farmers and the poor and bring free medical care and education to all, everyone followed. When he said he would bring justice and equality to all, everyone said, ‘Praise the Lord.’ And when the young leader said, ‘I will be for change and I’ ll bring you change,’ everone yelled, ‘Viva Fidel!’

But nobody asked about the change, so by the time the executioner’s guns went silent, the people’s guns had been taken away. By the time everyone was equal, they were equally poor, hungry, and oppressed. By the time everyone received their free education, it was worth nothing. By the time the press noticed, it was too late, because they were now working for him. By the time the change was finally implemented, Cuba had been knocked down a couple of notches to Third-World status. By the time the change was over, more than a million people had taken to boats, rafts, and inner tubes. You can call those who made it ashore anywhere else in the world the most fortunate Cubans. And now I’m back to the beginning of my story.

Luckily, we in America would never fall for a young leader who promised change without asking, what change? How will you carry it out? What will it cost America ?

    Would we?

I live near Richmond and think this says it all–I know another man from Cuba who lives and works in Richmond who has been here 40 years and says much the same thing about BO and his promises to change the country. We need to listen to those who have been though a government takeover by radicals and those who associate with radicals. McCain needs to start focusing on this aspect of BO’s life.

Lou, I don’t think your characterization of Code Pink is accurate. They are very much against the war, the Bush administration and corrupt government in general.

Hillary did receive 1896.5 delegates (257 sds & 1639.5 pledged): not all the party is against her. She cannot alienate those who do support her if she wants a future or (wildly optimistic here) present run: it is before the convention, while she still technically has a chance that she should campaign. After, not so much.

I think it’s a stunt on his part to show he is the one in “charge”, what he doesn’t realize is what this looks like to Hillary supporters, I don’t like it one bit, I find it petty and not even remotely necessary. Where are the other folks who said they would campaign for him, I heard it out of Richardson, Biden, Edwards. The o knows this makes her look bad to some, gives his supporters a chance to blame her for something again, and frankly it appears almost he is trying to diminish her political future. Sorry it translates pretty ugly to me. The only promise he has kept, is the one he is holding Senator Clinton to. Butthole.

  • //Yahoo ALforHill

Here’s an idea. They put this joker up as the Dem nominee to take all the heat and thoroughly piss off everybody of both parties. Sort of like running moonshine. A decoy. Then at the convention, they nominate Hillary to the delight of almost everyone except Repubs and Obots drunk on kool-aide. The Repubs have spent all this time and money going after him and they have little time left to recover their thoughts and 527 ads to go after her. Whoosh into the W.H. Hillary goes. With Obama as V.P. I suppose. But he has much needed work to get back to in the Senate and turns her down. Oh Well, somebody woke me up.

    • May

I’ve been thinking the same thing. God, it would be a brilliant plan. the Repubs would have just spent all summer wasting money on Obama. If the Dems nominate Hillary she would’ve gotten off scott-free the entire summer and the Repbulicans would only have 2 months to attack Hillary before the GE. Oh, if only the Dems were this brilliant….

    • Brodie

I’ve gotta say the same thing occurred to me, too. It really would be brilliant.

  • Faustina

Hawaii would be the ideal place for him to withdraw his name from nomination. Hawaiians probably treat him as a favorite native son and it should be less painful for him there in the surrounding natural beauty.

He can always claim health concerns if he doesn’t want to admit he has been lying about his citizenship or his hoodlum/terrorist associations or whatever the core problem turns out to be.

I would actually give him a lot of credit if he could withdraw gracefully without starting a civil war or throwing anymore supporters, friends, and relatives under the bus.

I would consider it redeeming in many respects.

Bet any amount of money Bayh is his pick. Bayh’s top campaign aides who worked w/ HRC in Indiana are now paid staffers for Barack.

I think it’s a good thing she is doing these events sans oh precious – Better to be onstage as her own person and not alongside this basket case of a nominee.

When given a choice – BHO chooses THE MOST ARROGANT IRRITATING OPTION – like golfing while she’s giving her last speech in DC, or saying he’ll put his feet up on the desk on his first day in office or going on vacation while she’s out stumping for him.

The contrast makes their differences plain as day. Irony is that his PPL know the contrast hurts us – but at the same time they are blind to the backlash.

Let him loaf all he wants. He’s cooking his own goose.

Hillary broke away from her handlers and consultants who didn’t really have her back – When she dug in her heels – she connected with voters.

Bambi needs his very own life-changing event.

But he’s overexposed, believes his own hype and his ppl won’t expose him to the light for fear he’ll melt.

Unless he gets down, until he has a personal breakthrough, he’ll keep tanking.

    Hope so.

I think as we watch her speech-2 days before the convention sure what a plan. It will onlt bring back what the media did as well as the democratic party. It will bring up more sores then ever.I am nopt obver what they did to Hillary and her supporters.for what? They wanted their selected one.Well I will never fall in line.Donna Brazile and the democratic party as well as Obama’s lies -cheated-stole I will never go back…Well unless Hillary is the nominnee.Other wise it will be McCain for me.

As Hillary won more votes. As Obama cheated-stole and lied witht he help of msnbc.I will never forget or forgive.I am standing up to a democratic party who stole and cheated americans out of an election.I will not stay if Hillary is president.V.P will never do.Why should she be a V.P .To give Obama a free pass,NO THANK YOU NEVER.Obama is Bush and we sure don’t need that.Hillary and McCain went against Bush on his policy’s..Obama loved them and went with them.Money money money is all what Obama is about. Now I have watched that several times. She talks about how “things are being worked out” “no decisions are made” but she also goes on longer about how party unity requires all delegates to be heard. Sounds to me like, please forgive me all attorneys, typical somewhat weasely words that are true but not totally informative. Especially when a lady asks “What if your name is on the ballot and you win by a narrow margin?” This is two questions, actually. Hillary says “That’s not going to happen” and changes the subject. You can see, she could be answering that her name will not be on the ballot, she will not win, or she will not win by a large margin. My hope is that she wins by acclamation, but I prefer not to get angry until all hope is gone. And that won’t be until Jan. 20.

    OBAMBI is sooooo Bushlike.
Rememember back to ’00 when Bush was the media darling. Never vetted. Never questioned. No one knows where he stands on anything. The debacle in FL. Trampling on the Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights, and Amendment 12 (Cheney was also from Texas until the convention). Tires easily, little inquisitiveness, lots of vacations, delegates important tasks, blames others for his inadequacies….
Now OBAMBI, never vetted, never questioned, flip-flops on everything, Doesnt’t like the Fourth and First Amendments or Article II, tires easily, not observant, delegates important tasks, blames others….

I think this is a smart move by Hillary to go out there without Obama. You will see the number of people coming out to just to see her ( people missed Hillary already). She will say all the things she believes and people will contrast them with Obama’s they will see the what a world of difference. Obama numbers will sink further down. By the end of August, Obama will be flat dead in the polls.

    RISE HILLARY RISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SeeSee

BO’s strategy is now clear. If he can say nothing until the election he believes he might win. I guess that is what he means by the audacity of hope. This campaign is long and BO doesn’t know how to exert a sustained effort. He paced himself poorly, reiterated all of the historically inspirational speeches and now must do the hard work. It is just too oeverwhelming, so he will take a vacation and hope that HRC and BC can rescue him from himself.

    • pm317

I have a different theory. It is not that he paced himself poorly, but there is not much substance and not much record to sustain it for a long time.

  • Doris T.

HRC campaigning is very upsetting to me. The DNC proved on 5/31/08 that they don’t care about her so why would they care about her four years from now. It isn’t going to happen.

In my opinion, if HRC doesn’t put the stop to it now with it being so close to the convention. Then the delegates watch how she is backing Obama like the DNC wants her to and they will follow the same lead. No doubt Obama is saying…”ok sweetie, do what a woman is suppose to do, make the man look good.”

I can’t imagine anyone who was trashed as she was continuing to go out of their way as she is doing. Does anyone think Pelosi would, how about most men. Why isn’t he pushing Edwards? She came back from her vacation early to campaign for him. Now, he’s on vacation and she is still campaigning for him.

I truly believe that HRC wants nothing from him, but Obama is loving every minute of HRC cow-towing to his whims. HRC has experience, credibility, and integrity. Can’t say the same about Obama! What a loser he really is!!!!!! He has to have the Clinton’s save his butt.

I wish Senator Hillary Clinton was reading this right now because I want to tell her to pull the plug……

“You are not second class. He is only the selected, presumtive nominee because he was not elected. I know you are very politically savvy, but what is your gut telling you. Please, you must stop this Obama garbage.

When I heard you say get Senator Barack Obama elected in your email, my stomach turned. Senator Clinton you must know by now that your 18+ illion democratic voters won’t have him as our president. You are campaigning for a loser!!!

Please, Senator Clinton, go back to your office in New York…cancel all appointments and campaigning and start brainstorming all the ways that you want the Denver Convention to go your way. It’s great to be a team player, but putting the DNC (I’m not saying the Country or Democratic Party) first and their selection of Obama will keep you down because you have succumbed to one man’s arrogance.

Senator Hillary Clinton don’t be a team player. Please be the Democratic leader you have been throughout the primary. Your Country needs you, the Democratic Party needs you, even if they have been too blind to see it, and your 18+ million voters need you too, plus other voters who know better now!”

    Obama is a loser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • meileen

Well put Doris. I have a bad feeling about what we will hear from Hillary tomorrow. I think she is taking heat from the delegates that we PUMAs are pounding away on.

I used to understand her complying with the wishes of the party; but right now, I am with you on this. She will never gain their support (DNC leaders), so she should just fight for it this year. We need her now, not later.

  • Hillary the President

We all agree that this is unpleasant, but that’s the way the game is played! I will not watch Hillary schill for the jerk, but as a politician, she has no choice. The bright side is that HE will not be there…she can do her thing in peace.

On the noon meeting she’ll say she bagged it and all our hard work. Dare you be there.

WASHINGTON — Barack Obama may be the fresh face in this year’s presidential election, but nearly half say they’re already tired of hearing about him, a poll says.

  • Judy

This is an interesting development (the O family vacation) especially since it seems as if the Obama campaign is in a state of at least a minor panic.

I’ve never contributed to Obama, not even for his Senate campaign (he’s my senator) yet, in the past 5 or 6 weeks, I’ve received 3 calls requesting a donation. A few weeks ago, I told the caller I would give Obama no money and no vote. I thought that I would be taken off his call list but, alas, it was not to be. I received a call today and the woman who called wanted to know about the issues that concerned me most. Wouldn’t you think Obama would know what his constituents were concerned about? But then, I’m only a typical dead ended white person, bitterly clinging to my religion and my hot glue gun, so I guess my concerns never interested him.

  • LizfromFL

It’s hard as hell for us to even think of Hillary out there campaigning for that blowhard. But she’s doing it for herself and for us! You don’t think she really likes him!?? She would be committing politial suicide if she didn’t do what she is doing. And if that happened, we wouldn’t have the chance we MAY have in August or 2012. If you saw the interview with big Dawg, you could tell how angry he really is. Do you think she’s any less angry? Imagine how HARD it must be to go out there and pretend she’s behind that jackass. Instead of heaping critism on her, we need to be even more supportive. She probably has to spend her offtime kicking doors and punching walls==come on, people, don’t give up on her when this must be painfully hard for her to do!! She needs to know now more than ever that we are still with her all the way.

    • Lou

Before the convention? give ne a break! She already abandoned us and is not caring.

      • Ani

Lou, I understand you are furious, but I don’t believe for a second that she is abandoning us.

        • Lou

Thanks for the support everyone. I really appreciate it. I didn’t sleep all night over this Hillary news.

    • trixta

Are the networks going to cover HRC campaigning for BO? If so, wouldn’t it be wonderful if a huge mass of her supporters–wearing HRC t-shirts, hats, etc.–appeared where ever she campaigned chanting “Hillary, Hillary, Hillary” each time she mentions BO’s name?

This kind of support and publicity could be very good for our movement, since it would show the SDs and the Pod Dem Party that she is still THE choice!

  • Evelyn

I find it odd that Obama is all of a sudden going on a Vacation to Hawaii. I think it has to do with all of the information about the BC coming out.

I also think he is going there to try and get some one to give him some kind of signed documentation saying that the one he has up is real and that anyone that says different is smearing him!

  • http://puma caligirl

John McCain is now trusted more than Barack Obama on nine out of 14 electoral issues tracked by Rasmussen Reports. The latest national telephone surveys find that McCain has the biggest advantage on the war in Iraq, by a 51% to 39% margin.

Perhaps the most interesting finding of these polls is that McCain has expanded his leads on nearly every issue he had previously had the advantage on, while Obama’s leads have diminished over the past two weeks.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows the race for the White House is very close. The results are consistent with results from the past couple of weeks showing a race that is essentially even as the convention season approaches (see recent daily results).

In the new survey, McCain has tripled his lead on the topic of immigration. He now has a 45% to 36% advantage over his Democratic opponent, up from a three-point lead two weeks ago.

The Republican also has pulled ahead on the issue of balancing the federal budget. Two weeks ago, the candidates were tied on this issue at 40%. McCain now has a 43% to 40% lead on the issue among voters.

McCain used to be behind on the issue of Social Security but has pulled ahead of Obama for a 44% to 38% lead.

On issues that Obama has previously enjoyed huge advantages, such as health care and education, his leads have decreased. On health care, Obama leads 46% to 41%, down from a 12 percentage-point lead just two weeks ago. On education, Obama leads 43% to 39%, down from a 10-point lead two weeks ago. On environmental issues, Obama’s advantage over McCain has gone from 14 percentage points down to eight this week.

The economy is the top issue for the majority of voters this election season. Voters have consistently trusted the Democratic Party more on this issue, but the two presidential candidates are tied at 45% as to who voters trust more. A week prior, Obama had a statistically insignificant one percentage point lead on the issue.

On national security, an issue that McCain consistently performs well on, the Republican leads 52% to 40%. His lead represents an improvement from the eight-point lead he held the week before

  • Dirty Barry

Hey Larry, one would hope that interested parties will be keeping an eye on certain government agencies that distribute birth certificates and COLBs in Hawaii this weekend to report on suspicious behavior, any input?

  • Lou

Thanks everyone for letting me vent today. I guess we all have been livid over this election one time or another.

    • Ani

      Hang in there, Lou.

Believe me I understand your frustration. I have been chewing through the furniture for months at the injustice and idiocy of all of this. The clueless, selfish, shortsighted behavior of the DNC — and most of the media — is appalling.

When the going gets tough, the tough take a vacation. Isn’t that how that saying goes??? God only knows he needs a vacation. All that flying around Europe in his recliners and cabin with a dining table in it is tough work.

Well Obama did nothing for 7 year in Illinois, so this is a lot of work for him. Just don’t tell those thoroughbred race horses that they can lay down in the backstretch and still win.

    • Brodie

Speaking of race horses, I’m reminded of the final leg of the Triple Crown that Big Brown was supposed to so easily win- NOT. Instead, he came in last. When that happened I thought it might be a preview to what Nobama was gonna do. All the hype & build-up come down to a fizzle at the end.

ANOTHER vacation? Good God that guy burns out fast. He loves vacationing doesn’t he? Let’s see, who else always takes a lot of vacations….

      to fix his birth certificate?

    • The Real Hope

Maybe if we are lucky he will not return.

  • EGObaMANIAC

CDC ALERT!!! There is a hideous epidemic of a new disease called IRRITABLE OBAMA SYNDROME caused by watching Hillary stump for the Obama Boy.

Symptoms include gas, flatulence, diarrhea, uncontrolled vomiting, impotence, erectile dysfunction, loss of memory and an uncontrolled desire to vote Republican.

There is no cure except to not watch, don’t listen and by all means..DO NOT CONTRIBUTE to the Obama Boy campaign or the DNC.

    Democratic Campaign PlayBook for Obama

    Attention: All Obama Boy supporters.

There will be times when you encounter those who would choose to reveal information about me that knocks me off my pedestal. There is some vinegar in the kool-aid I tell you, but pay no attention.

Never fear help is near…Here are the recommended responses to such blasphemy….

1…You are a racist. Of course the only reason someone would not love me is because I’m black..Play the race card often.

2…You are a liar. Of course there is no foundation for any negative remarks about me. The millions who do not see my brilliance are, of course, liars. We have taken care of the bad stuff on google

    3. You hate Obama. What other reason could there be that there are millions who will vote Hillary or McCain.

4.. You are ill-informed. Perhaps they don’t buy the garbage I give you on my web-site. The only source for Obama information. Do not look elsewhere..

5… If none of the above work…stupid, idiot, moron are words that should be used often when you are unable to defend me.

6…If all else fails and if they continue to call me a rookie, ultra-liberal, black radical, white-hating, terrorist-loving, liar; and a corrupt pawn of the Chicago Political Machine..you can always
pass it off that they are Republican plants.

Keep the Kool-aid alive even if it is filled with vinegar.

Lou and others, the plan was for Obama to knock Hillary out. He couldn’t close the deal. She’s still viable. But their goal could still be achieved by making it appear that Hillary sabotaged Obama before the convention by being behind one of the many scandals floating just below the surface. Then in the name of party unity, to appease the AA community and avoid the threatened riots in the streets, they nominate another. Who? I think Al Gore is their planned nominee.

She and many other insiders know something is going to “hit the fan”. But, she has to be very careful not to let them pin it on her. She will do exactly as the party leadership tells her so as not to give them any ammunition.

  • BJ

speaking of “shirts” i’m still waiting for my damn $50 t-shirt from the clinton campaign- in the meantime the money they took right away (instead of upon delivery) and i am getting spammed to death with crap mail from the dnc and obama campaign (and others) and the ONLY place they could have gotten my email is from the clinton campaign-

i’m for hillary 100% but this kind of stuff pizzes me off big time-

  • sayitisntso

    That didn’t happen to me.

  • sayitisntso

    Lou, I SO AGREE!

Not watching the webcast either. Enough is enough!

  • lusitania

Where exactly is it that Hillary is appearing on behalf of BO, but without him by her side? Wouldn’t it be a hoot if the only ones who showed up at these two events were Hillary Supporters, with their signs and t shirts on, urging her to fight. Signs telling her how much we admire her and would love for her to be President. And also, lots and lots of NOBAMA signs. But not too nasty. focus on the message that he is inexperienced, that he is not electable, yadda, yadda, yadda. You get what I mean? The media would have to report it. But remember to take your own pictures and video of the event because the media lies.

How about it No Quarter and Just Say No Deal and PUMA? This would be a great action item.!

  • Steve-O

He is again on vacation? I mean, after taking off a week over Easter and the odd day here and there?

If he does take campaigning that serious, then maybe he should step aside and hand over the mike to someone who is really prepared to fight for that job…

  • Rob in Chicago

    lowlow:
The big difference is that Eli & the Giants won the game, and they din’t buy off the referees to declare them the winners.

  • meileen

See, this is your problem. You see this as a game, and we adults see it for what it truly is – a circus act put on by the DNC.

Going to be a sad day for you when your idol loses. We here already know the outcome; you’re still falling for the BS. Good luck with that.

  • http://! Clinton Fan

I am a Patriot fan and I was fine with our loss.

You, on the other hand, are an idiot.

Poor you. The Patriots can win again, but you’ll always be a nitwit.

    Running scared, eh? That’s why you’re here…

  • WIldChild

LOl you sure whine a lot

  • David A. Is that You Trolling?

    Are your parents siblings?

  • jo

That’s the point. She didn’t lose. If you’re a bo supporter you should behave yourself because the times they are a changin’ and people like you are going to have a lot of explaining to do. BO is “not qualified by any reasonable standard,” I believe Gov Paterson said. Being President’s a bitch, just ask bo’s twin, gw…
So, don’t be proud of that. Hang your head in shame for the double standards in OUR OWN PARTY!
If people like you are indicative of the people that support bo, then, there;s your problem!

    JC

  • Lou

Why did fraudbama have to rock steal the votes?

  • Katmoon

    Medications?

  • David A. Is that You Trolling?

lolwow’s parents probably asked him/her to run away from home.
