“It’s Over When WE Say It’s Over”

Via The Confluence:

Diane Mantouvalos sent this clip through the JSND network this afternoon of Gary Mauro, former head of Hillary’s campaign in Texas. He’s saying it’s not over until he gets a chance to vote for Hillary for nomination. This just proves how viral the movement is. We had no idea this was coming. As far as I know, Mauro did this without any prompting from us.

I received this earlier yesterday, but couldn’t post the format it was in. I just noticed that The Confluence got a YouTube copy, so here it is!

The Messiah and his minions fear PUMA, for they truly are everywhere yet invisible, ready to strike from the shadows at the election booth.

    • Perry Logan

I agree. PUMA is bigger than they know.

I’m sure millions of voters will vote for McCain–but are saying they favor Obama, to avoid being attacked or called racists.

      • http://uppitywoman08.wordpress.com Uppity Woman

You are right Perry, but the ones who lie aren’t PUMAs, just afraid. Nice way to run a campaign. Scare the shit out of everybody deliberately. That works well. Not.

Now toss in PUMA. Depending on which poll you want to pay attention to, we are between 10% and 24% of Hillary voters. That means there are somewhere between 1,800,000 or us and 4,320,000 of us. If Barky things that’s no problem, good for him.

        • Dawnelle Leona del Puma

Gawd those numbers just make a CAT feel like PURRINGGGGGGGGG!

          ;-)

        • standard

          Yay, Gary! What a dude!

not to mention the possible bump after the convention if hillary is not nominated….

      Speaking of PUMA…

New PUMA video I made mocking Obama’s flip flop on the strategic oil reserve:

Please leave a comment on the video if you get the chance and have a YouTube account, to help it get more attention.

        Thanks.

        PUMA!

Good video. The ratings button says its disabled?

          Go PUMAS!

            Thanks, roseeriter!

I disabled the ratings so that the $7/hour astroturfers can’t mess with them. That’s one of their favorite hobbies, to troll YouTube.

            PUMA!

        • Dawnelle Leona del Puma

          Just did!

Thanks very much, Dawnelle. Your comment is great!

            :)

AWESOME video PAUL!! I loved it. Thank you.
I left a message also (different screenname).

You should email it to susanunpc. She’ll love it.

Could you do one just as this onesame images, same music & rythm but with a list of his most offensive flip flops; it needn’t be too much longer.

That would be great. We could ask NQ to post it.

      • pasmalltowngirl

        Great video Paul,
OB is not the only one bamboozling us.
The rank and file in her(Pelosi) party increasingly are just trying to save their political hides when it comes to gas prices. Behind the scenes she’s encouraging vulnerable Democrats to express their independence if it helps them politically.
        http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12304.html
I am sooo sick of the self-serving, money hungry politicians. Vote them all out. PUMA

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/PaulFVillarreal Paul F. Villarreal

      Here’s another effect of PUMA:

      “Obama stalls in public polling”

      http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12334.html

Forget about the new, oversampled Dems AP poll or the CNN (selectively chosen) poll of polls. Obama is hurting, and McCain is making gains on all fronts. The only poll that can be trusted that has Obama up is Gallup, and that same poll was tied a mere few days ago.

To say Obama is underperforming is like saying gas prices are somewhat high.

    • Rob in Chicago

While I wish McCain would provide more “policy” reasons for life-long Democrats to vote for him, as an avid motorcyclist, I am pleased with the news that McCain will be stumping for votes at the Sturgis Bike Week this year. It’s really hard to picture Obama at that event (except perhaps in a side car of a Vespa scooter, with a Dukakis tank helmet). As an immigration lawyer, I’m expecting that McCain will revert to a more balanced and reality-based approach on immigration related if he is elected, no longer having to play to his “base.”

      • Hope Floats

(except perhaps in a side car of a Vespa scooter, with a Dukakis tank helmet).

        ROFLMAO. Hogan’s Heroes!

        • jwrjr

          Or the Andy Griffith Show?

  • http://uppitywoman08.wordpress.com Uppity Woman

Obama knows the art of replacing delegates with more trusted delegates. Whatever. He’s going down. If not now, then in November.

    • http://www.greensunshine.net jadwiga

I agree. Hillary wouldn’t have said so strongly that she will not be elected nominee.
This is the twist. Seat all the delegates with full voting rights. Oops, the don’t want to vote for Hillary. How can it be!
Nontheless I didn’t give up hope yet.

      • bemused

If you mean that SF video, the question asked was:
“What if you win the nomination by a small margin”
        and she said
“That’s not going to happen” and quickly changed the subject.
Notice that she could have been addressing the “small margin” part. It struck me as a lawyerly response.

    • A Citizen

Let his “trusted” delegates know that they will be voted out if they vote for Obama. Most superdelegates are elected officials who want Obama’s voter database and money to get re-elected. Make sure they know they won’t get your vote. Try making them understand they will lose their job if they continue supporting an unqualified candidate.

      • Obama is a bum

Good idea. There has to be a price for supporting Obama and that price needs to be huge.

        • Total disgust

The price is huge in many ways, if everyone who claims to be supporting Hillary truly does. All of these idiots are so wrapped up in the fantasy that is Oloser that they can’t see what is right in front of them. It has to be hard to get back to reality once separated for so long. They may not return to reality until they lose in their own elections. And they will.
The biggest delusion is that we PUMAs and demos alike will support Oloser with gusto if Hillary is out voted at the convention. Not going to happen. America is getting very tired of the same old bs. Race bait followed by continued use of the race card. Same old song and dance my friend. Oloser has given a new meaning to the phrase “Flip Flop” a man who stands for nothing.
All strong and secure men and women for Hillary. She is the most qualified candidate.
Here in Texas, the caucus was one of the biggest jokes of this entire election. I proudly display my support for Hillary on my house on my car and on my vest when I am out on my harley. This can only be replaced with support for McCain.

    • kgirl1028

shouldn’t be hard to do considering Congress doesn’t have a high approval rating. I would absolutely love seeing them get voted out 1 by 1 in November.

      • Grail Guardian

How can Obama replace delegates, when they’ve already been chosen? Is there not a rule, that protects the rights of SD”S,being replaced?

Sorry…….there’s not enough psychic viagra in the world for me to EVER get it it up for that WackJob Obummer.

I’m sorry. Did Gary say something? Wow! Now he is sexy.

Anyway, Oblowme’s still a creep, who can snake oil sell the stupid vote without my help.

Please God, let Hillary be nominated…

If not, it’s anchors aweigh for McCain.

  • Tucson

So the media, at least Fox News Channel, is getting ready for the big day for Hillary now? God is going to save this country after all…thank you very much!!

  • Seattle Moss

I think it’s too late for the democrats to repair the damage they have done in the eyes of the American people.
They are anti-American thugs and need to be destroyed.
Hillary and the Clinton democrats can repair the party after the debacle in November.
One thing must be clear…Never will I ever vote any democrat as long as they have proportional representation, caucuses and super delegates deciding elections.
    One person one vote!!
The democrat party has a long way to go before I can call them democratic.

I like that she’s still plugging away.
There are Doers and there are TAKERS in the world, Hillary is a DOER. Brava. Rise Hillary Rise!

Check out the article in the NY Times today (sorry I don’t have a link) that confirms that most of BO’s money comes from large donors–more than McCain and Hillary. Big surprise there. Investment firms are just that: they INVEST in something for a RETURN. Does anyone really think they are giving him boatloads of money for nothing? I smell privatizing Social Security.

          • Andy

            fif:

That’s what I thought toowhen someone reported yesterday that people paid 15,000 each to have dinner with him in Boston: these are people that know thos 15,000 will be worth millions if he’s elected. They are investing for a much higher return; it is so simple.

I also smell privatizing SS too and if he is POTUS the Dems in Congress will not be able to stop it: it’ll be the end of it.

      • Alex01

Note the last line in her letter:

Of course, we need far more than a Truman Committee. We need the Truman spirit in the White House, where the buck finally stops.

        Hello, Madame President!

        • fif

LOL! And notice she doesn’t mention BO!

He ain’t no Harry Truman, that’s for sure. Hm…who reminds me of Truman???

      • Andy

        Hope Floats:

Thank you for the link to Hillary’s OpEd today at WSJ.

I just read it; you can hear her voice while reading it. It is really poignant; excellent.

I wonder who is she thinking when she concludes by:

Of course, we need far more than a Truman Committee. We need the Truman spirit in the White House, where the buck finally stops.

because it certainly doesn’t sound like that would be BO.

Gosh I so very much miss her voice and her political leadership.

DNC: Enough of playing charades. Can we have her back now?

        • Total disgust

I’m With you Andy. Enough of the fun and games now. Can we get back to the real business of electing our next POTUS?

      • Annie Oakley

Thanks for the link. I can just hear her in that op-ed. Short and to the point, the elephant in the room – what about the corruption? This two-year primary has been a great distraction from the rot at the heart of our government. Ob is no solution at all. He’ll make things worse.

      • TeakwoodKite

Senator Dorgan has been talking about the same thing for years.

        Why to go Sen. Clinton!

  • Cindy

Gary is a hell of a guy…..A great friend to the late Ann Richards. He was our (Texas) Land Commissioner for 15 years, which is a big deal in Texas……and ran for governor against Bush in ’98. He came from a family that did not have much money. He had to work his way through college, and made something of himself, the good old-fashioned way: hard work. This is the type of Texas liberal that supports Hillary……the ones who have no sense of entitlement, but are fairminded, hardworking, caring people.
God Bless Gary. God Bless Texas. And God help us if Obama wins.

    • workingclass artist

As we say in Texas….HAIL YES!…..Thanks for posting that Susan. The man is right. There is a process and Obama and his fascist Punks should back off.
      This will be interesting…..

    • Total disgust

      Cindy-
You hit the nail on the head with; This is the type of Texas liberal that supports Hillary……the ones who have no sense of entitlement,

That entitlement mentality really rubs me and many americans the wrong way. We have been faced with that for so long. It has run its course.

The way I see it, if we are going to consider any entitlement claims perhaps we should start with the American Indian.
      Hillary for POTUS!!!!!!!

  • helen

Gee hasn’t donna told the people to stay home?
Are there hotel rooms for the Hillary delagates?
Wasn’t that part of the cost cutting process when the new democratic party ran out of money for the convention?
If they go thru with nominating obama that will be the end of the democratic party.
Since I don’t want a one party country we should start now to figure out how to start a party the holds the people of America and the ideals of America in high esteem and will work for them.

This is the second funniest story I have seen today. The first was when the succubus Ann Coulter in reference to Obama’s energy plan (inflate your tires) proclaimed she had solved the health care crisis. “Everyone can just eat an apple a day”

I boycotted Fox for years because of the Clinton hate.
However, after the fix was in I started tuning in again.
I believe that Fox and the republicans see Obama and his anti-American supporters for what they are.
      A threat to America!!
I think the folks at Fox after all these years came to respect Hillary and view her as one of them.
Or should I say one of us!
When I watch Fox I see Americans that want to defend and protect this country.

      • Cindy

They may have gained new respect for Hillary – but don’t underestimate them. They want McCain, not Hillary.
If they would be so kind to her, they would help us to dig up the dirt on Obama.
We are sending them the info – but we never hear about them on FOX.
They are taking it easy on Obama for now.

        • standard

Even though I am wary of FOX, I do not see those guys liking McCain.
Their contempt of Obama is there, and it is valid.
They have been more respectful of Hillary Clinton than any other candidate.
I think they would be happy, just as we would, to have a bright go-getter, who has a clue.

          • Dawnelle Leona del Puma

OMG wouldn’t that be FANTASTIC if we had FOX on HILLARY’s side over either McCain or Bambi???

    • andySF

For global poverty, everyone get a job. For world hunger, let them eat cake. Obama is so smart, not.

Di you see his energy plan of getting 150mpg hybrid on the road in his first term? Problem with that is that the best the can do right now is 50-60mpg. How can you have a plan that relied on some hybrid technology that’s not yet invented? Even in that’s available, it would have to weight a 1k lb for it to work, not a selling point for family with kids. Mini and Smart are pretty efficient, but how many of them are use as family car?

Obama really is out of touch with the real world, and “The One” sounds about right.

      • Northwest rain

Batteries are the problem with the hybrids.

Some people are pushing nuclear energy — but the problem remains — what to do with the spent fuel?

Geothermal is being exploited in New Zealand and other countries. There is great potential with Geothermal — and Hillary is aware of this. She mentioned the potential of geothermal to supply energy needs. And I would include the power needed for car batteries would be from a combination of sources.

We have a lot of very creative and intelligent people in the US — however much of this brain power has been used in the military industrial complex for war. R & D isn’t what it should be. The only candidate I heard bring up this subject is — HILLARY CLINTON.

Too bad RayGun (the Prez that snObama thinks is so superior) had zero foresight to keep alternative energy on the front burner.

snObama is all talk — and he has no idea what the hell he’s talking about. Basically he’s a dumb as RayGun — someone feeds him an idea and he opens his mouth without understanding the concepts behind the idea.

        • Hope Floats

The LA Times opened fire on T. Boones Pickens and his support of Obama’s energy plan. It said it’s a good thing for Iran and gives a good argument for drill, drill, drill.

        • B from Bloomington

Saw Bill when he was on the campaign trail for Hillary and talked of creating jobs in r&d and production–jobs that cannot be outsourced. If I understood correctly, he said that a battery had been developed, but it wasn’t affordable, but he believed it could be if we put effort behind it. He spoke about her plans and getting the country working in good jobs that will give us all a better future and energy independence. He talked of weaning ourselves off oil by effectively using technologies in practice elsewhere. We can do it with the right leadership. NOBAMA — NO MORE WORDS — WE NEED ACTION — WE NEED HILLARY !

      • Obama is a bum

“Di you see his energy plan of getting 150mpg hybrid on the road in his first term?”

How does he propose to do it, snap his fingers? Engineers in US, Germany, and Japan have been working on improving hybrids and electronics for years. Obama knows nothing on this topic.

Obama makes wild statements and I would like to know how he plans on implementing them. For example, everyone already knows that there is a recommended tire pressure. So how would Obama enforce a law requiring that everyone have their tires always kept at that pressure. That would require a massive government program resulting in a substantially greater cost than any savings in gas. How often would people be required to bring in their vehicles to the DMV, for example, and have their tires checked? Once per week? Once every four weeks? The cost of driving to these centers wastes more gas than would be saved. Plus the salaries of the workers, paper work, and time spent by the entire country driving and getting in line to get their tire pressure checked would be enormous.

McCain should continue to attack Obama on this inanity. This is just an example of the type of wasteful government programs Obama would create.

      • Boxer Mum 06

My hubby is 6’8, there is no way he can fit in a smart car or mini. What is he supposed to do? Maybe file a discrimination suit after Obambi’s policy goes into effect.

I saw a picture of Shaq in a convertible smart car – it was too funny. I don’t know how he fit, surely he is not comfortable and no way is it safe for him to travel in.

What about kids? How do they expect to put car seats and booster seats in those things?

    Obama’s Lost Papers

The following website has a list of “lost” Obama papers. The papers are based on Obama’s writings while in Illinois.

A sample of the writings includes insight into how Obama voted against the interests of Hispanics.

“No Hispanics Encroaching in Black Areas

When the 2000 census revealed dramatic growth in Chicago’s Hispanic and Asian populations alongside a decline in the number of African Americans, the Illinois black caucus was alarmed at the prospect that the number of blacks in the Illinois General Assembly might decline. At that point, Obama stepped to the forefront of the effort to preserve as many black seats as possible. The Defender quotes Obama as saying that, “while everyone agrees that the Hispanic population has grown, they cannot expand by taking African-American seats.” “

    http://www.patriotroom.com/?p=898

    • Joe

The Messiah just revealed once again his racist beliefs of Black Supremacy with that comment and his agreement with Reverend Wright and his whacked out church. Imagine the uproar if McCain had said the same thing except saying “White” instead of “African-American” seats.

    • Andy

The Defender quotes Obama as saying that, “while everyone agrees that the Hispanic population has grown, they cannot expand by taking African-American seats.

This is not the “Unity” I knew– Barack Obama October 2008.

Does anyone have the actual number of delegates that each candidate recieved without the super delegates and with FL and Mi being counted as they should have been?

  • usaproud

I heard something on Tv today that really made me think. It was on a financial channel. One of the panelists said if the Dems get control of Congress again than Pelosi stays speaker, he was urges voters to not vote for the Dems. I have to agree. Nancy Pelosi has been a HORRIBLE representative for the Demnocrats and needs to be removed. The only way to do this is to vote straight Republican ticket which I am urging everyone to do. Pelosi doesn’t care what the American people want. She is for Obama and that gives us all even more cause to get rid of her.

    • Hope Floats

I have a fairly long list of Dems in NY I will be voting against, because of their betrayal this primary. David Patterson was loyal to Hillary, and I hope he stays in office. His reelection is in 2010, though, and he doesn’t need Obama’s stinking money. He’s already raised a few million.

      • voterinexile

Patterson and Rangel forced HRC to bow out right after her June 3rd speech in NYC. Patterson was making noises about supporting/liking Obama for a few weeks leading up to ‘the squeeze’. It was Rangel who strongly urged Hillary to bow out and it was said she did it because it was Rangel who asked. He was her staunchest ally in her run for Senate – if not her mentor. She didn’t want to burn bridges with Charlie.
I like Charlie and probably always will but I am shocked by his turnabout towards Hillary.

        • Grail Guardian

As far as I know, Patterson had nothing to do with Clinton leaving the campaign. Eliot Spitzer had more to with it (illegal immigrants getting driver’s licenses and all – when Hillary refused to throw Spitzer under the bus, that’s precisely when the MSM turned on her). Rangel told Hillary that it was “time” because all the NY Dems that were still holding out for her were being threatened with primary challenges by the Obama camp. The truly sad part of it is that even after Hillary suspended and the NY Dems switched to Obama, the primary challenges did not go away for many of them.

Guess that’s Change we can believe in.

      • basil

        David Patterson was NOT loyal.

Just before the Rangle-led massacre that stopped HRC’s campaign in its tracks he called her ‘desperate.”

he also signed into legislation a new hate crimes bill which ONLY lists noose-displays as a felony punishable by 4 years in jail and doesn’t give the same weight to displaying swastikas, terroristic threats, women-battering, etc.

In addition, at his NAACP address, he said that if America doesn’t elect Waffles as CIC it will prove the country is racist.

David Patterson, another foul representative of affirmative Action, the INADVERTENT Governor, is in a class with Waffles.

Sorry for the rant but I live in NYS>entHe

        • Hope Floats

This is good to know. I’m back and forth between NYS and Toronto (admittedly more the latter these days, but I’m moving back full time in September.) So, I miss a lot of the local stuff.

        • mimi

I know that Rangel was the one who pressured Hillary into leaving the campaign for the reasons stated above.

But I take issue with the comments about David Paterson. I live in NY too. And I’m AA. You all simply do not understand what it means to be an AA politician while this man is running for POTUS. Paterson’s remarks are to satisfy the AA community who by all accounts are in a frenzy over 0bama. No amount of attacking these people out of frustration is going to change the reality they have to deal with. Look at Evan Bayh. He was very pro-Hillary and may be the VP.

Everyone here is always talking about Mayor Nutter and Stephanie Tubbs, but these AAs are towing the Party line now too. They’re not supporting McCain. New York is a big state and one that 0bama certainly needs. Paterson maybe the inadvertant Governor, but he is the governor and as the head of NYS he has to be pro0bama. He’s not a mayor. If Spitzer was still in office, he’d be pro0bama too. So cut Paterson some slack. It’s a no-win situation for AA politicians.

With regard to the noose, I’ll say this, a rope used as a noose is ultimately a weapon that could kill. A swastika, just as heinous, is a symbol, an inanimate object. It expresses hatred and anti-semitism, but it cannot in and of itself be used as a weapon to kill in an immediate sense. A rope could be.

As far as terrorist threats, he’d have the ACLU and the nutjob liberal leftwing all over him about that.

Sadly, women are still fighting for validation and it’s up to us to make our voices heard.

Isn’t that why we are all here?

  • jwrjr

Pelosi is a Democrat??? How can you tell? She is one of the best friends the cheney/bush regime has ever had.

  • HillGirl

Well, la-de-da ~ for months they have been saying that Hill’s name will NOT be called at the roll call. Then, there has been talk that Obama has been ousting any Hillary hold-outs and doing a switcheroo so that they are pro-Obama.
This whole elex season has been a sham and a scam.

  • TeakwoodKite

    Denver? We have a problem!!!

Even IF “BO the Bored One” grants an audience to House of Commons and issues a Fatwa from his left cheek, it won’t matter. BO SAID he had an epiphany!

Which is to say the “process” that has been going on since 1884……(just think ..grandma Kite was born in 1894, rest her soul; she never missed young Teak with that cane a’ hers) will be a farce with a forgone conclusion, IF BO gets his way.

This deal with FL and MI is a pretext to it. Frankly, the fact that the letter was on Hillary’s website is insulting and I am wondering if Hillary considered it’s affect…being a good “team player” does have it’s ironies.

I just heard BO say “it’s like they take pride in being ignorant.” (on energy) So if you think different than “Dreamy Boy” you are ignorant…keep going BO, you schmuck!

Nothing like jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft…BO can pack a chute if his political future depended on it.

    Go Airborne!

    • PKJayne

      Well said Teak.

Barry has been getting his way for months.

    • Grail Guardian

So if you think different than “Dreamy Boy” you are ignorant

At least he changed it from “racist”. Of course next month we’ll all be ignorant racists.

    DAMN Right!!!!

    Preach it, brother, preach it!

  • http://firefox AnnieCarmel

I never watched Fox either…same reason Clinton haters. When Matthews/KO, McCafferty and friends began their siege of all things Clinton, I switched to Fox and lo and behold…they are fair and balanced. Who knew?

Shepherd Smith is even (seemingly) a bit of an Obama leaner. However, Hannity makes up for it and I thoroughly enjoy his giving the low down on BO. I have no doubt that he’ll be chopping him down to size on a daily basis and more power to him. He bothers BO so much that he mentions him by name in his appearances trying to mock Hannity, but falling short.

I wish Hannity would uncover what BO is hiding on the BC issue. He’s the man.

    • voterinexile

I’m a new inductee to Fox…they still put down Hillary in snide asides whenever it suits them. Not overtly controversial remarks but always a tick in the background. It seems they try to ‘fair and balance’ Hillary talk with some grounding. They still grill anyone who dares speak up for ‘process’ and ‘Hillary’ as in the Mauro clip.
Noticing that there are more mentions lately that Murdoch likes/leans Obama so Fox is bound to reflect his preference. (Who am I kidding? I’m sure half are told to shill for Barry.) Charlie Rose – of all people – has the Matthews’ tingle. All week he has looked for an opening to draw out his guests on whether they are for Obama. You can see the rubbing of the hands together glee when the guest relents and says, Yes, I’m for Obama. Notably he did this the other night with the President of Fox programming, a lifelong Dem, who was very reticent it seemed to come out for Obama.

      • pew

I love Fox, now that Sean is taking a dislike for Obama, and don’t count out Bill Oreilly..I watched his show last night, and he’s been doing some digging into the moveon.org,and George Soros, and mentioned they own the Democrats. He showed some dislike for Soros, the other night, said,he didn’t want to see a radical running this country… He also said last nite, everyone will know who Obama is by November.I was wishing it would be before the Convention.I hope he gets to the bottom of moveon.org…

Gary Mauro, a true Democrat with a backbone! Maybe others will follow through, especially with NObama flipping on issues and screwing up so much.

All right, people, it’s crunch time.

I believe sincerely that we have one-and I mean exactly one–ballot to make a difference. If Hillary doesn’t get it on the first ballot, she will withdraw her name and that will be that. The first one has to either give it to her or look like things are breaking her way or she will withdraw her name after a “symbolic” first ballot.

If you’re going to lobby delegates, super or otherwise, now’s the time. In all your spare time, put forth the bare bones argument to whomever you can reach. Keep it simple, they’re only going to listen for a limited amount of time.

    • Seattle Moss

Hillary is now the most powerful politician in America.

Can I make the suggestion of using either a black or a white font for your website? It’ll make the text there so much easier to read. Thanks!

    • maniaco

      … me too, Regencyg,

I like your website, but it’s just too difficult to read ~ not enough contrast between text and background colors.

The background is pleasant enough and somewhat unique, if you could just change the text to stark black or white. That might work.

Will check back in a while to see if you’re going to make it easier to handle.

Then I can go ahead and bookmark you.

      Thanks (I hope)

    • Andy

Regencyg: Thank you for your comment. I second that!!

People it is indeed crunch time: call your SuperDelegates and/or email them. Your can use
      http://www.lobbydelegates.com
or the html list SusanUnPC posted yesterday. But PLEASE do it.

Regencyg: You have great site; Ilike it a lot. A small request. Could you make the text with more contrast and a bit bigger? It is hard to read as it is.

The Messiah and his minions fear PUMA, for they truly are everywhere yet invisible, ready to strike from the shadows at the election booth.

Joe you hit it exactly with that.

I recieved my second call this week from the local Dem headquarters. Once again they were asking for volunteers. This time there was a little desparation in the young man’s voice. “We really really need help here and would you please consider helping us with the phones? ” One word answer….a terse NO. He was polite and said thank you for your time.

I have worked the phones or walked passing out political literature for the past 12 years. I always volunteered my time. I recently had a chat with a woman I worked with on quite a few occasions. She as well refuses to volunteer her time but is offering up her pity vote for Barry. She just can’t bring herself to vote Republican.

I truly believe there is a silent movement. A quiet dissent that I believe the DNC, Howard Dean, Donna Brazille and The Glorious ONE will be sent reeling from when the polls close the evening of November 4th. Most of my collegues and family are staunch Dems. I have not heard one of them utter a single word of support for THE ONE.

In the worlds of the Alice Palmers of the past Barry has succeeded. I do not think that will be the case here.

Sometimes quiet dissent can be the most crushing of all. You just don’t see it coming.

Afterall Ms. Brazille should know, as a woman it is my perogative to change my mind, and I have decided I do have ‘somewhere’ to go.

    • lute

I worked the phones for Kerry in the last presidential election.
95% of the volunteers were white women well over the age of 50.
(Kerry wouldn’t even take the time to wipe his ass on us, much less say hello).

These women are the backbone of the party.

They are taken for granted, and marginalized.

I’ll never forget the snide commentary by an Iowa editor. It was something like: “It’s snowing and sleeting. Not a Hillary day. Slips and falls, and brittle bones break” in other words, the old ladies – her supporters, wouldn’t be out voting.

Maybe not, but could email him to fuck off. At least this one did.

      • lute

Next time DNC needs a volunteer, tell them to call a Kossack.

Why do the obamakids seem to hate their mothers and grandmothers? Very sad and depressing, That these extreme left kids don’t think things though.

          • John

Their mothers and grandmothers remind them how very, very little constructive they have done with their own lives.

Hatred of the previous generation is the natural reaction of spoiled rotten kids still living at home and/or on Mommy’s credit cards. It’s the only level of “Independence” that they can afford.

      • roseeriter

Why do the kids seem to hate their moms and grandmothers?

      • Hope Floats

That is beyond snide. The menace is that comment is frightening. I was really appalled by the levels of misogyny in this election. I didn’t think this could happen in a developed nation.

  • OBushMA!

What a schmuck this news guy was… Which part of presumptive nominee did he not understand? It means BO’s not the nominee and will have to go through the process to become one, like any other candidates before him.

  • http://investigatebarackobama.wordpress.com/puma/ kat in your hat

Gary Mauro is a true democrat, yes, we must go through the process, but certainly not a pre-planned process–done just for symbolism.

Hillary is STILL the one to beat McCain.

Just wait till all of Obama’s skeletons are kicked out of the closet folks.

We all know we are political junkies, and the rest of the country is barely paying attention: Just wait when those 527 ads start barging into everyone’s homes: you know, Bill Ayers standing on the American flag, with footage of his bombings, mixed with GD America US of KKK A, I won’t wear that pin on my chest, America is downright mean–ignorant–for the first time in my life, cling/ bitter, guns/ religion/ black liberation theology, Muslim this and that, Farrakhan Million Man March–crossed with Farrakhan’s craziest racist and anti-American comments…throw in vein bulging Pfleger, and a smiling Radhid Khalidi PLO Obama buddy and then cut to Palestinian terrorists…YA, We like Barack Obama–we hope he wins…Hamas.

Ya’ll are NUTS if you think Obama can win…NUTS. The average American voter will NOT vote for him!!

Supers: Your job is to choose the democrat who can beat McCain. And that’s Hillary. Do the right thing and stop worrying about being PC. And screw the media. Be noble. This is our country!!

    Hillary 08!!!!

    P.U.M.A.

  • PuppyDogMom

I’m sorry. I didn’t hear what everyone else seems to have heard. Gary may be a good man, and I don’t dispute that. But this is what I heard:

“He’s a good man.” That was the last thing Gary said in reference to Obama.

He said that he doesn’t believe that Hillary will win, but the process is important. I agree that the process is important, but from what I heard Gary say, it’s a token process that allows people to vote for Hillary but the outcome has already been determined.

And then he said that when the roll call vote is over and Obama wins that Obama will get the Hillary supporters and he will support Obama with enthusiasm.

What am I missing? Is that what our efforts have been all about…just getting a chance to say you cast your vote for Hillary? Is it time to stop and start working for McCain? I really think I’m missing something here.

    • Jane

That is my concern too. Now they can say in the history books that they followed a democratic process and everything was fair.

    • Jane

Is it time to stop and start working for McCain?

NO, I do not think we should start working for McCain right now.

I also meant to say in my last statement that we cannot stop pushing for Hillary by our blogging, speaking out and writing to superdelegates.

I do NOT think we should start working for McCain until we see the results after convention.

      • PuppyDogMom

According to Gary, the results of the voting at the Convention are a foregone conclusion. The more Hillary supporters publicly state that they’ll vote for her but she won’t win and they’ll support Obama after she loses, the more likely that prophecy will come true. I’m not hearing too many people of influence saying that she has a chance. In fact, I’m not sure I’ve heard anyone make that statement.

If Gary says that she won’t win and that he’s going to enthusiastically support Obama, and Gary is highly respected, then won’t he influence others to support Obama as well? I’m sorry. I just don’t get it.

        • Linda C.

It really has to do with the super delegates and they probably aren’t going to change much at this point. The Titanic has sailed and they are going along for the sinking and then see what to do next.
It doesn’t make much rational sense to us on the ground, but it may make some sense in the rare air that these people breathe. These folks have seen presidential primaries come and go. They have their own tomorrow to look out for. If that means the ship sinks for the presidency then so be it. The sun will always rise in the east and they now have money in their coffers. Permitting the Brazile faction to go down in flames is an easier purge than an internal struggle for power. It isn’t the first time the democratic party has run aground and many of these old time politicians have weathered those storms…so this is just another disaster in a very long list.

        • Betty

We are dealing with authoritarians here, in Obama and his campaign. Don’t think for a moment the behind the scene hammer isn’t coming down on Gary Mauro. He said as much as he could…. or did he?

Had to stop and think what I was writing here. What would Obama do to stop a revolt of SDs? Strong arm Hillary by threatening to unseat her and her followers in Political office?

So he’s saying to all Democratic office holders: I have all the money and I am not going to give you any, and if you dare to oppose anything I do then I will fully fund a challenger to take your seat in Congress.
What makes those fool think he won’t do that anyway – remember the 15 member board Obama reduced to 9 because 5 of the original 15 belonged to the combine.

The Chicago Combine is a Co-op run by Democrats and Republicans to intercept taxpayer money.

They must have been doing something in their jeans these past 7 years watching Bush and Cheney run a two man combine operation that dwarfs anything they have ever done (maybe that explains the actions of our democratic leaders, wish I was related or was a friend of one of them).

BTW here is part of the vicious circle Obama lives in: He was elected to office in a government that represents decient caring people, the majority of who support giving taxpayer money to provide decent housing, medical care and education opportunities to the less fortunate. Using his elected office he funnels those well meant tax payer funds to his “friends”, they pocket it and leave the people to live in squall-er. Then they all go to church on Sunday and the preacher screams “you live in squall-er and it is all greedy whitey’s fault, and Hillary ain’t never been called a nigger”

          • http://! TeakWoodKite

            Betty;
Then they all go to church on Sunday

One hand holds the other in the vicious cycle of indifference.

            So true.

I think Gary Mauro sounds like a good guy, but unlike him I will never support Obama and my gusto and enthusiam comes from telling everyone who will listen what a cheating, lying fraud Barack Obama is.

    • Roxanne Cintron

If we can’t get our Hillary nominated, then what? I can’t vote for Senator McCain because he left his crippled wife and three children to marry a young heiress. They own 9 homes and he wears five hundred dollar shoes. None of his policies would help middle income or lower income Americans as much as the rich. Can’t vote for Senator Obama, can’t vote for McCain but neither can I sit home and surrender my vote. Can we write in Hillary’s name in every state or is that verboten in the new United States of (Nazi)America? Meanwhile, does anyone beside me wonder if the Karl Rove crew helped Obama get this far in the first place so that a Republican duo (likely McCain and Gov. Mitt Romney) would get elected? In 1980, I had a poli-sciprofessor who accurately predicted that the people behind Ronald Reagan and his buddies wanted to disassemble the New Deal. He said the plan had been in the works for decades. Since that is what RR and the Bushes have done, deregulated us into a depression, whose to say they didn’t have a longterm plan to derail Sen. Clinton’s campaign in favor of Obama’s campaign to propel him this far to cause the Democrats to lose across the board in November? After all, it was George Bush, Sr. who told the media, after “befriending” Pres. Bill Clinton on their tours of flood-riven Indonesia and New Orleans, that Hillary would run for president, long before the Clintons announced it. Then Karl Rove mysteriously left the White House before the end of George Bush, Jr.’s term and is appearing on Fox cable news while simultaneously designing commercials for McCain through his associate. Moreover,
Rush Limbaugh’s website is offering tee-shirts, etc. for sale that mention disrupting the Democratic Nat’l Convention in Denver. Don’t be fooled by Rupert Murdoch’s minions into thinking they want a Democratic majority in Congress or a Democratic president. They would like Mitt Romney to be president in the future and will position him as VP for now. Sen. McCain is not the youngest candidate. If his health fails in office then we could get stuck with another anti-New Dealer. Remember, Dick Cheney has been behind the scenes in the White House since Richard Nixon. He and the other energy barons have a lot to lose if liberals get back into power. Even the so-called liberal network is doing the work of the neo-cons. MSNBC and Newsweek are subsidiaries of GE which has oil wells in Iran.

      • Hope Floats

Someone posted an excellent rant about McCain and his first marriage, because Obama supporters love to bring it up as “evidence” that McCain is sexist (divorce is hardly a definition.) But…

Stop feeling sorry for Carol Shepp McCain, former model, gutsy woman and tough cookie. She doesn’t want or need your sympathy.

She, you see, was STUCK with him… because at the time a lot of POW wives were getting LOUSY PRESS and being called “hussies” because they couldn’t take it, the waiting, the uncertainty, and many of them cheated, or dumped/divorced their husbands because they just couldn’t get along. There was no “Family Support and Services” back then– none of that “deployment debriefing / psychological assessment” crap they have now. You went home and were expected to pretend everything was normal, that nothing had changed. And she was married to one of the most high-profile POWs in the mix. She was TRAPPED.

Carol DID get in a horrible accident. That wasn’t McCain’s fault; he was still a POW– they were BOTH on crutches for the longest time. She DID work tirelessly to keep the POW issue front and center. She was on TV all the time, doing interviews to try to keep the issue at the forefront. They loved having her on, because she was a KNOCKOUT. Former models usually photograph well, and she sure did.

But when her SECOND HUSBAND (yes, SHE was married before, had kids with that guy, and dumped him), John McCain, came home, they had NOTHING IN COMMON ANYMORE.

They drifted apart. It was sad. It was unfortunate.

        But it HAPPENS.

She said “He wanted to be 25 again. I didn’t.”

He freely admits he didn’t try. He lived life like a guy who got a second crack at it. He has publicly apologized for being such a crappy husband after he came home. He doesn’t try to puff himself up, or pretend he was such hot stuff when he wasn’t (unlike his opponent.)

She let him go with God. He solved her problem– she wasn’t into him any more than he was into her. It’s why she’s happy that he was, and still is, a good father to her children (he adopted them all– all those “older McCains” aren’t related by blood– they’re Carol’s kids with her first husband) and it is why she contributes generously to his campaigns.

Some divorces ARE amicable. Stop trying to make the woman into something pathetic and unempowered. She’s a victor, not a victim. She stood up and did everything she could to get her husband out of Vietnam, and then she and he both moved on.

McCain’s shoes are the dumbest reason I’ve heard to not vote for him. I remember reading about the Iowa caucuses. Someone complimented Michelle on her boots, and she cooed, “Thanks. They’re Jimmy Choo.” Do you realize those things are $1200 just for the slingback ankle boot? All the politicians make money. They dress accordingly.

And since when is marrying money a crime? Cindy McCain inherited the third largest Anheuser-Busch distributor route in the country. She runs that company, and very well I might add, and she also is very active in philanthropy. She is an amazing woman, beautiful on the inside and out, and I can’t begrudge her success wen she gives back so much to the world.

        • mimi

          Hope Floats,

Thank you for re-posting the comments about McCain’s first marriage.

My response to anyone feeling as Roxanne Cintron does is to point out that getting involved in the details of other people’s marriages and divorces is not a good idea. Especially public people. No one can really know what goes on between 2 people behind closed doors. What usually happens is we simply transfer own issues on to someone else’s personal lives.

What McCain went through was something unimaginable to me. I think it would be a fairy tale for any couple to survive that. Add that to his ex wife’s car accident. It’s really too much. It just doesn’t happen and if it does, it’s a gift from God.

I’m voting for McCain. Just like with Bill Clinton, I’m not interested in his marital life. I’m not interested in 0bama’s marital life either. It’s their business. I do not want 0bama to be POTUS. And since Hillary is not in, I am compelled to vote for McCain to insure that doesn’t happen.

Often in life you have to make the hard choices.

      • bemused

Please, please look into the circumstances of McCain’s marriage first marriage flop before you base a decision on that. He has regretted it to no end–he was also crippled at the time–his ex-wife still likes and supports him. This is a character assassination meme that is totally irrelevant to either the present situation or the presidency, and all these emotional hook type statements for all candidates should be immediately suspect. It is a basic propaganda technique that takes on a life of its own and muddies the real issues.

        • Dawnelle Leona del Puma

I have no problem with McCain’s marriages or wives or the trauma of his POW years and those following…….. I’m sure every day he’s telling himself he’s LUCKY to be alive!

I say that myself for lesser reasons and I tell you it keeps you humble.

          Something BAMBI could learn!

My problem with McCain is the PARTY UNIT he brings with him. I HATE what is left of the 109th Senate and Congress of REPUKES!!!

If he picks ANY far right or beyond acceptable VP choice (and at his age) well, THAT will give me pause.

and I would appreciate those that would love to call me a MAGGOT for disagreeing with voting IMMEDIATELY for MCCAIN can get OVER IT themselves!

I won’t be threatened or insulted!

      • Andy

        Roxanna Cintron:

The ability to “Write-in a name” when you vote change from state to state. Go the home page of your state or your county and find the number where to call to find out about this.

I think everyone should do what they feel comfortable with. Write in HRC or vote for someone else on the ballot (other than BO.)

      • Ron

Before you start maligning public people over what happened in their private lives (marriages, relationships, etc) maybe it would be a good idea to introspect for a bit to see how you’d fare in that department. While it makes a lot of sense to judge a candidate based on their past policies, political agendas, and other criteria for which you can refer to a “record” that has been established, I fail to see what YOU can possibly know about a person’s private life. I wonder how littered your past life has been with failed relationships – perhaps that criterion should be used by others to determine how pertinent YOUR comments are. What a jerk.

    Designing Dictators

    By CHRISTOPHER BENFEY
    Published: August 3, 2008
How did a practice as vile as branding become so valued, indeed, the very mark of value? Officials in the past have branded slaves and criminals — remember Milady’s fleur-de-lis in “The Three Musketeers”? Samuel Maverick didn’t brand his cattle, but dictionaries are vague about whether he was the first maverick or his cows were. Today, cities and colleges have joined toothpastes and soft drinks in the battle for “brand loyalty.” Steven Heller’s “Iron Fists” makes a sophisticated and visually arresting comparison between modern corporate-branding strategies — slogans, mascots, jingles and the rest — and those adopted by “four of the most destructive 20th-century totalitarian regimes”: Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, the Soviet Union under Lenin and Stalin, and Mao’s China. As he pursues his four “case studies,” Heller, by means of unsettling images and shrewd analysis, amply restores the vileness to branding.

“Iron Fists” has the dimensions and dazzling illustrations of a coffee-table book, but its subject will fit uneasily among Monet’s waterlilies or Fabergé eggs. Heller, who was a senior art director at The New York Times for many years and now writes the Visuals column for the Book Review, brings a graphic designer’s perspective to these disturbing proceedings. He is aware that comparing supposedly “benign” corporate brands with government-disseminated propaganda may seem a stretch: “A popular brand of frozen food or laundry detergent is not forced down the consumer’s throat with an iron fist.” Still, as he notes, “the design and marketing methods used to inculcate doctrine and guarantee consumption are fundamentally similar.” His aim is not to diminish the insidiousness of the regimes under scrutiny, but rather to reveal why they were so effective.

Being from Texas, and Gary Mauro, does have alot of respect here and is known as a man of conviction and the will to do what is right. He is a man who knows about hard work and middle class situations. Well i believe on voting for a candidate that i know and has experience and to me Obama is not a candidate that has a conviction to anything other than to himself.. NOBAMA.

Thank you Gary Mauro, the words of a leader. Those words of simple truth reveal the vast gulf between a true democrat and the scheming leaders of the Democratic Party.

A Puma made it on Washington Journal this morning…male from S.C. with a son in Iraq. He said no-bo even with Hillary on the ticket!
    McCain’s son is serving, and I don’t care if he’s watching videos in a V.I.P. lounge…at least he’s there!
Unlike the dems guy who can’t cross the street alone!

What did he mean,by doing the math..And if Hillary Clinton wins she could hand him the votes by acclamation?Does he mean Obama can’t win without her delegates also??

    • PuppyDogMom

No…what he meant was that when she loses the vote, which he fully expects her to do, then there will be a motion to elect BO by acclimation. Pretty standard. Shows party “unity.” For me, however, it’s Party Unity My Ass…

Please if there is hope out there, let the sun shine on Hillary! if anyone can knock Obama off the platform, she can do it. She is a true American!

  • buckybadgerboy

If delegate got on national TV and said,’Let’s vote at the convention, from what I hear from other delegates, I think she can win!’ do you honestly believe Dean and Company would let there be a vote?

They have to say that he will win in the end AND they will support him or the whole subject is moot.

Protecting the Precious is goal number 1.

Any chance that it will be a real contest and the subject is closed. Oh that’s right the subject is already closed.

Mauro is a close friend of the Clintons going back to their days campaigning in Texas while in law school.

If Gary is saying this, HILLARY IS SAYING THIS.

  • navyvet48

After what happened to the lady from Wisconsin do you think any Hillary delegate would dare say they would not support Obama later? This man has done so much….is he a PUMA. The intresting thing, I was unable to read his face when he said he would support Obama with gusto. He kept the same expression the whole time….don’t play poker with this guy!

Bravo, Democrats stop letting Obama and Dem Leadership blackmail you, stop cowering, stand up to this intimidation, call Dean on his vague supposed rational of Party growth his 50 State experiment, at best Obama brings less than 3 percent projected increase in AA voters, he has lost Independents like me 26 percent of the electorate in 04 and now larger, and possibly 15 to 25 percent of the old base. So it’s way past time, Clinton should have done what McCain did last week and called Obama and yes the Democratic Party Leadership on their blackmail, their threat to swift boat McCain as they had the Clinton’s as shameful bigoted racist so blinded by hate and fear they could not be beleieved to assess Obama’s resume fairly his capabailites because he is Different, looks Different male yes but not white.

And McCain called them on it, shoved it down their throat, broke the protective shield that had stunted the vetting of Obama, the knowledge of who Obama is, his qualifications for the Office of the Presidency. And the flood gate have parted not even the MSM can stick their finger in the dike now. We find in just a week for example that the country knows Obama is different and that he is famous for being different, and is believed different for differencing reason. To some that Obama is black makes him different, some because his is young and good looking, some because he has an exotic personal history and some believe he is a politician different because he will work across the aisle with non democrats. Ok, but the vetting that was stunted in SC by Rep Clyburn, the examination of who is Obama really, what are his beliefs, what is his voting record, what is his personal history, what are his experiences, what are his contribution and deeds in the offices he has held, what are his positions on issue, who dose he surround himself with, who are his associates, how is his judgment, do his deeds match his campaign rhetoric. And gone is the ability to rebuff the judgements that have been missing repressed, Clyburn, Herbert, Dean, Robison and Barzile can desperately attempt to repair the damage they have done Obama attempt to rewrapped the mystery of who he is in same ugly animus or Movement they choose. but it will no longer work.

So SD’s if they truly want the White House, which is a question, need to decide quickly do the math assess, CAN Obama whose record, qualifications, deeds, experience and associates are now put under the spot light and judged without the luxury of the dismissive haze of racial aminus win in Nov, and what of the electorate he has offended and victimized, so are his Differences his stature as a Personality enough?

    Hi there.

There is one rather large problem with this statement about voting for Clinton during the convention. It won’t count because Hillary Clinton needs to request in writing that she wants to be on the nomination ballot and she has previously stated that she does not want to be on the ballot:
    http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2008/07/31/2008-07-31_hillary_clinton_asks_not_to_be_nominated.html

Here is the most relevant part of the article:
“Party rules stipulate that Clinton must ask in writing to be nominated herself and also submit a petition signed by 300 to 600 delegates. Without her signed request, petitions of support are meaningless.”

So, if you really want delegates to vote for Hillary Clinton at the convention then you first need to convince her to put her name on the ballot. If she doesn’t do that then nothing else matters, no matter how much you may want it to be otherwise.

    That’s my two cents.

    Thanks.

    -Derek

Since when does The Clinton’s need to bow down to the Obama Party for authorization to have her name in nomination? And this Burton character, thinks the party is already unified. I think he over dosed on something, heavy, after that statement.imo
