Obama Fatigue: Ripping Covers From Magazines

pew pollNewsweek sent me a free subscription to their magazine, one I’ve been trying to cancel for weeks now. Every time there is a picture of Obama on the front cover I rip it off, it never makes it to the house. The cover hits the trash can at the end of the dirt driveway. Nope won’t even allow it in the house. I would much rather burn it… When I’m not ripping off the front cover, I rip whole articles out of the magazine if it even mentions Obama. I am growing tired, the mention of his name puts me to sleep.

If tearing up magazines isn’t bad enough, I throw away the section of the newspaper he is mentioned in. Nope. I refuse to recycle it even. Newspaper is a commodity in this house, I need it for packing boxes. I won’t have it wrapping my fragile items. I really don’t want to open those boxes and see Obama’s face. Nope, can’t do it.

When the TV is on and I hear his name, I have to mute the sound. If the station, usually Fox insists on showing his face, I have to change channels. The repetition makes me want to take to my bed and sleep. Did I mention I am packing to move? I shut the TV down entirely. Did I mention I don’t watch CNN and MSNBC anymore, too much of him. Can’t do it and won’t do it.

My own personal boycott.

And now this. Ugh! The one thing I can say is I agree with all of it. He reminds me of Paris Hilton and all those other people who are famous for being famous.

Obama’s Celebrity Revisited is revealed to day in this article. People have this to say about Obama:

On the surface, the “celebrity” charge is a personal attack on Obama, coupling him with people universally recognized as being famous just for being famous. But there may be something more going on here. A new poll by the Pew Research Center showed that about half of respondents felt they had been hearing too much about Obama recently while about 38 percent said they had not heard enough about McCain.

And this from Salon.com, I’m so bored with O-B-A-M-A:

This may be about the most lopsided margin in winning the headline wars since James Monroe ran virtually unopposed in the 1820 election. But now, with voters suddenly curious about McCain (judging from the Pew numbers), Obama may be a victim of too much too soon. As singers and comedians have known since the early days of vaudeville, the cardinal rule in show business is to leave the stage with the audience wanting more.

I’m yawning now. And here’s hoping I can stay awake until November.

  • debbie

Now, what are you going to do with all those pictures of Bill and Hillary Clinton with Obama at the convention? How will you stay awake?

  • JoseyJ

Media reports McCain’s illegal foreign contributions – but NOT Obama’s contributions from Gaza!

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26080129/

  • Heather

It’s an amazing phenomenon. I’m the same way with the radio. If either of my local NPR stations starts playing his voice, I have to change channels immediately. I can honestly say I’ve never had this kind of reaction to a political candidate before. Even George W. Bush … well, eventually he affected me this way, but not before he even got nominated!

  • jnm594

That would require them to be JOURNALISTS and not OBOTS……………

But then I forgot all the obots have Pulitzers for investigative journalism………..

  • standard

    I can’t watch B.O. either.
George W. Bush affects me the same way.

  • dnesser

I cancelled Newsweek two months ago. I did it on line and told them exactly why. I also requested a refund. I did receive my refund check and the pro-Obama Newsweek is no longer coming into my home.

  • Uña de Gato

I’ll just cut out the Obama parts and keep the rest.

  • KarenG

Be glad you don’t live in Illinois, I had enough of
him after his run for the Senate, 4 years….after the first round of hope and change.

  • Fenelon spoke

I just have completely turned off the TV for months except for a few shows on PBS. It really is great; No Obama; No political ads.

  • Papoose

    Me too! Me too! Scum~Out!
Except for my new Andy Martin book that arrived in the mail today. YAY!

Thanks, Andy!! I wish you could hook up with Ed and Allyson. I really do. But not to Josh forever. No joshin’. Ever.

  • Fenelon spoke

LOL, Karen; “After the first round of hope and change”. Yes, I guess people from IL. fed up with OBama must be REALLY fed up. I know the website ChicagoagainstObama can’t stand him. I like that site. :^)

  • nickoury

stinky is a totally complete waste of time, period.

  • Mr.Murder

Why read what he has to say? Wait for the flip flop and it might end up the opposite of what policy or plan he stated.

  • Faustina

I have the same reaction. It is almost pathological and reminds me of X-Files or the Twilight Zone.

  • Larse12

I cancelled subscriptions of all magazines that are up the creek with OBama. I also don’t watch CNN, MSNBC, or NBC anymore. I can’t stand Obama and am so sad the people got bambozzled by him. Hillary or McCain.

  • jackie

I thought I was the only one that had that reaction to him. I wonder if the Obama camp is regretting buying the 5 million dollar Olympic commercial deal. If people feel he’s so overexposed, how are they going to feel after seeing his political commercials for the next few weeks as they are trying to enjoy the Olympic games.

  • MEchelle Hates America!

    Oblowme is soooo BORING!

    MEchelle is batshit crazy.

  • Bridgette

I’m sick of him too…and have been for quite some time! I dunno how I’ll last until November…and what if, by some crazy chance, he becomes Pres? I can NOT see his face and hear his voice for 4 more years. I might have to leave the country or something!

  • Pink Panther

Is Obama and the DNC leadership having a problem with the gay community? Anybody know about the following?

I read about a lawsuit filed by Donald Hitchcock, a former DNC Director for Gay & Lesbian Outreach. According to the article, talks broke down after an explosive altercation between Hitchcock’s attorney, Tara Jensen and DNC attorney Joe Young. According to reports, the DNC attorney allegedly lashed out at Jensen. (Reference below)

As outlined in a letter sent to the DNC by the Jensen, the following was alleged stated:

“At that point, you became physically intimidating, and moved quickly
toward me, within six inches of my face. In fact, you were so close that you
spit on my face. You then proceeded to point your finger at me, and in an angry,
raised voice yelled, “Don’t you ever contradict me,” and “Don’t you ever
interrupt me.” You also told me to “know my place.””

Note the alleged comment from the DNC Attorney telling the female to “know her place” and not to contract the male attorney.

Guess the “new” Democratic Party and Obama treat all women like second class citizens.

Can anybody give an update on this?

  • Pink Panther

We need to stop buying from merchants advertising in the MSM favoring Obama.

  • JS Ruby

I have put myself in a news blackout. I cancelled Newsweek long ago and will only watch Fox on occasion. I never watch CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS and ABC. They are all in the BO tank and it makes me ill when I see or hear him. I will be glad when JM kicks BO’s ass and this is overwith. HRC 2012.

  • VMorris

Well, after nearly 8 years of flipping the channel or muting the TV everytime Shrub’s face stinks up the screen, if BO wins, I’ll just continue to do the same.

Changing The Channel I Can Believe In…..Yes I Can!

  • Grail Guardian

So if we’re all boycotting the MSM, how come they’re not caving? I think we need to tell their advertisers we’re boycotting them. Maybe a full page ad someplace sucking up slightly less than the others? NYT and Daily News are out, as is the NY Post. How about the Boston Globe?

  • debbie

Oh, yes, if you want to maintain your world view, the best thing to do is not to read anything that could possibly contradict it.

    Good move.

  • wac for hillary

I saw an ad on TV the other night for a new reality show where the object is to make the contestants throw up; the last one standing is the winner. I’m thinking they could put all of those Obama pictures to “good” use. Although, I wonder what would happen if they all threw up at the same time.

  • Peggy Sue

Amazing! And here I thought I was the only one who did this–I hear the name Obama, I immediately tune out whatever the TV/radio show is. My husband has asked innumerable times: why do you have the programming on “mute?”

As far as the overexposure, I remember my mother-in-law and son in Philly complaining of the Obama overload during the primary. My mother-in-law rec’vd so many phone calls and saw so many Obama ads that she was completely turned off.

And we all know how well Obama did in Pennsylvania.

All those bitter, clingy types, no doubt.

If I go to the NY Times, Washington Post etc web sites and they have a photograph of him I immediately close the browser. I am boycotting the Olympics on NBC since the will show his ads. I read the news on foreign news websites and keep informed as to what is happening in the world. If, however, they have a photo of him I close the browser. I have an intense dislike of anyone and anything that someone tries to “shove down my throat.”

I hate to veer offtopic, but you all have got to see this McCain ad: “Democrats Praise John McCain”

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSpcxkKlEFA

Obama doesn’t have a chance. I don’t like that they used Hillary to seal the deal on the ad, but Obama is toast. We can work around Hillary’s “praise” of McCain in the ad. She’s already proven she’s capable of working with both sides while maintaining her dignity and principles. Obama? Not so much.

This thread is so funny, yet at the same time it is so sadly true! I don’t think I’ve ever seen an election like this one before, and I hope I never see another like it.

Talk about overkill. The media is just like the bots at HuffPo. They’re going to hack a lot of people off. Either they’re explaining what he really intended to say, or they’re making excuses for why he isn’t doing better. Or they’re seeing imaginary phallic symbols in various monuments. Oh, that’s right, a lot of monuments are sort of phallic-like, aren’t they? But who’s been designing them?

Oh well. Rip the photos and articles out of magazines and newspapers before even bringing them inside the house. Thanks for the idea. That’s a change I can believe in.

  • VRWC – Old predictions Dept.

I remember now that, back on June 20, 2008, the Big Lizards blogger (conservative) predicted something like this in a post “Campaign Saturation Point: Can Barack H. Obama Buy the Presidency?” http://biglizards.net/blog/archives/2008/06/can_barack_h_ob.html. It’s a bit long, but might be worth a read if you think there’s something useful in the idea that, beyond a certain point of saturation, a campaign tends to do its candidate more harm than good.

  • JoeySky

I’m sick to death to see his face in my daily newspaper. I tired to be informed of his latest stupid stunt.

    That’s a life lesson.

  • http://Dinocrat gardenvariety

    You mean what ALTER bullshit.

  • elise

Here is a theory to cover that sort of thing. If they know there is bad press about BO, they immediately find a negative about someone else, McCain, Hillary or Bill, and focus on that to distract viewers from the problem BO has. The Obama’s camp has done that since the primaries began. Always blame Hillary for something you have done or will do. The media then presents it as fact, even if it is vague and unsubstatiated claim, his supporters will believe. That was then and this is now and hopefully everyone else is catching on.

  • debbie

Maybe it’s because there are not that many of you.

I’m a DNC pledged delegate for Obama. Your recent PUMA PAC musings piqued my interest, if only because I do sort of have a metric on how big the PUMA people are as a movement. About a month ago I woke up and took a look at my e-mail and instead of seeing few new e-mails in the morning I saw more than three hundred.

PUMA released the e-mail addresses of the delegates to their supporters and asked them to e-mail us with a form letter. I’m sure you’ve seen the letter (if not, it’s pasted in below), but since I set up a filter to direct every e-mail with “PUMA” in it to a folder on my Outlook, I can tell you that about a month after their letter-writing campaign began (I don’t get many more these days), I received a total of 404 messages.

Given that their entire raison d’etre is getting delegates to vote otherwise, this makes me think the PUMA movement is actually quite small, even if it is quite good at getting press. PUMA will surely stage something at the convention, but if they can only get 404 people to send e-mails, I’m not sure how many they can get to fly to Denver and make an impressive scene.

I only watch Lou Dobbs and even then I get furious with some of their radio hosts and political “experts.”If I hear Obama I rush for the remote to mute it ASAP.

….Ever wonder why NPR is so in the tank for Obama and have been since day one? I guess I’m the last to know, I’m sure someone has brought this up. I kept thinking “This “Annenburg Foundation” that they keep mentioning as one of their sponsors sure sounds familiar..sure enough it’s the Bill Ayers and daddy org. that Obama was involved with–the Annenburg Challenge etc. That’s where NPR apprently gets a huge chunk of their money.I’ve never yet heard them say a bad word about Obama.During the primary, they never said a good word at all about HRC. I wrote many a blistering email to them.

Telling a 7 year old kid the country is failing–Obama has lost it.

  • elise

Was it Bob Strum during the primaries who said Hillary reminds people of their mother-in-law? I watched FOX a little this PM and they had two different male supporters representing Obama who were asked about her being on the ballot and having a role call vote and they reminded me of men of my father’s generation who expected woman to remember their places while they laid down the law. Wasn’t it just last week Dean was saying, “of course there will be a roll call vote just like there has been since 1897″ and now Obama is saying it is being “worked out”?

  • sowsear

I’ve had to cancel Newsweek twice. I think my husband donated to something and we were given one subscription and then another right after I cancelled the first one.
I also cannot watch or listen to either Bush or BO. I never have been able to understand why anyone could support Bush or reelect him, OMG! Now, I’m actually frightened for the country if BO should be elected.

  • s. hall

Obama should have known that a huge ad buy isn’t going to fix whats broken with the presumptious nominee. He spent millions in Ohio and Pa and he lost in both places. The problem is Obama has too much money and not enough experience to be President. Axelrod decided to sell Obama’s personality instead of his stands on the issues. Big mistake. Almost 2 years later Obama is still clueless about the issues which effect our lives. Obama will lose and he will take the Democratic Party down with him –

I toss them straight into recycling, but I sure wish they would stop sending them. It’s like a club you can’t leave. Yes–distraction, deflection, and reflection are tools of the campaign in general and also BO’s equivocal and nebulous speeches. Notice how hard questions are always followed by “let me make that clear” (obfuscation) or “This is a distraction from the issues” (distraction from the question!), etc. All such attempts at evasion should be called for what they are.

  • Mandelay

Well, the t.v. you can turn off. The print material … maybe you can have fun. Here are some of my fun things to do with Obama-contaminated print material.

    1) Years ago I had a sweet little dog who hated to go out and I paper trained the dog. It was during the 80s. Ronal Reagan was President. Plenty of newspaper coverage and front page photos. That was fun. For those of you with a little paper trained doggie, or a new puppy, this is very rewarding. Place newspaper with offending photo face up and urge furry friend to “go.” A simple pleasure!

    2) Even more years ago, my Dad used to grab the T.V. Guide and draw black eye rings, goatees, blacked out teeth, waxed moustaches and other “photo embellishments” on every celebrity, from the cover to all the inside stories. We would scream and yell about his “transformations” to Mary Tyler Moore, James Arness, Timmy and even Lassie. But, looking back on it now, I wax nostalgic and often pick up a marker pen and “carry on the tradition.” It’s fun and you’d be surprised how it can minimize the stress and tension of having Obama’s face everywhere. So grab those Sharpies and have some fun!

    3) This one cost me some postage, but it made me feel good. The DNC sent a mailing out in a regular #10 business envelope with Obama’s name in the corner card and the DNC name/address on the back flap. I did not open it. I just stapled a note to it saying “Please take me off your mailing list.” and eased the unopened mailing into another #10 regular white envelope, addressing it back to the DNC. It cost me a couple of stamps but I figure if they get enough of them back, they might worry more and more.

Obama’s personality is a dud. He has nothing but the race card that is why he has been playing it.

  • Papoose

candymarl, they should be banned now. Time is of the essence. The erratic handwriting is on the chalkboard. JSN *Distractions.

RIP Tim Russert. Such is fate. Double rainbow and all.

Let’s Get Real. The timebomb is ticking, as in a game of Balderdash. Password.

Make love. Not war. Nevertheless, the jiggy is up. We’ve got the dice.

They’re running out of life lines in Who Wants To Be A Skillionaire…Global Idol…

    Trivia? HoBO Team loses.

Ban Trolls. Ban the Bomb. Or we can all join TUCC someday/

  • Heather

Don’t think people get banned much from here. It’s called
    “free speech”

  • Pink Panther

    Do you mean like:

    candi
    bambi
    angel
    roxy
    crystal
    destiny
    jasmine
    jenna

which by the way are typical stripper names.

You don’t think Obama male supporters would. . . .

…….noooooooooo, Obama male supporters aren’t sexist, are they?

  • Heather

I wrote NPR some blistering e-mails too! It was disgusting hearing Judy Woodruff (whom I used to respect) doing a hatchet job on Hillary when interviewing her. Meanwhile they wax lyrical about Obama at every opportunity.

My disaffection with NPR actually started well before this campaign season though, when over the past few years I’ve heard (male) NPR heavyweights (Bob Edwards, Carl Cassell and the like) making fun of Britney Spears and other tragic pop stars to get cheap laughs.

Plus, decades ago NPR and PBS stopped reporting on the issues in a campaign and started focussing on the horse race. Just like all the other MSM.

  • Marc

It’s unbelievable. You would think that Obama is running unopposed. The Kingmakers and Gatekeepers (AKA main stream news media) are pushing him so hard that I am getting sick and tired of it. It’s not only in the national media but also the local as well. Here in Chicago, WGN radio leads off its news with, if it bleeds, it leads, followed by a story about Obama. Where is John McCain? After many years of watching MSNBC and CNN, I have stopped watching them. They are disgusting and repulsive, especially MSNBC. These are the same folks that were the cheerleaders for the war in Iraq and after 8 years of beating up on President Bill Clinton, gave our worst President ever, George W. Bush, a pass. I have lost all respect for these people. They rank lower than used car salesmen. Give us back the Walter Cronkite’s, Chet Huntley’s and David Brinkley’s. I miss that era of responsible journalism.

  • Denise_C

I never liked Obama much; I never liked his policy positions.

But it looks like most of you here have simply gone off the deep end. If you find yourself tearing covers off magazines and not allowing the paper in your house or not allowing an image on your TV over your maniacal hatred of all things Obama, then you would do yourself a favor to talk to a therapist or physician about this. How long are you going to try and keep this up? This over-the-top seething livid rage? It expends a great deal of effort and emotional strength to stay there. It would do you real good, not just ego-stroking stubborn vanity gratification, but real helpfulness to deal with what amounts to a seriously neurotic and emotionally self-defeating response to tragedy.

I agree that we (and by “we” I mean us genuine Hillary supporters, not any right-wing trolls in Hillary clothing) — we were treated unfairly by the MSM and so many of Obama’s supporters are such assholes, yes, I can understand why you are aggrieved. I feel it too! But there is a point where it stops being self-empowering to get up on the soapbox and denounce your ideological or political opponents in righteous fury. There is a point where it becomes self-sustaining out of bitter, prideful stubbornness. And though bathing in spite and bile may feel gratifying in the short-term when you are so angry, it always takes more from you than from anyone else. It becomes counter-productive to your own needs and desires. The longer you can manage to make this last, the more foolish you will end up feeling, on top of the crushing emotional exhaustion the whole ordeal takes when you actively feed on your basest and most negative of impulses.

Please, Hillary supporters! This road leads to madness.

  • http://investigatebarackobama.wordpress.com/puma/ kat in your hat

I am totally sick of Obama. We’ve had total Obama oversaturation. Obama overload. His ads are on so many websites, and he or Michelle is on the covers of too many magazines, and it’s always on TV–always on the radio, always Obama.

I’m desensitized to him now. I am not even listening to his garbage anymore. I am sick and tired of him in my face. Obama’s strategy: FORCE people to pay attention to him…no thanks, I’m sick of him getting shoved down everyone’s throat.

Go AWAY, Obama, we are all sick and tired of you. You should have just been a regular candidate, and showed up after you actually did some work instead of trying to buy the WH and all the media to push your propaganda machine.

    Obama: beat it.

  • gadem

I just had to wait until my subscription expired to The Nation. But that was great because now I keep getting all their mailings to renew. I stuff the envelopes with HRC literature and mail it back to them. Hope they enjoy paying the postage.

  • Heather

    4) Take one of those “support Obama” mailings with the prepaid return envelope and fill it with something heavy. I used heavy slick magazine paper to stuff the envelope as full as I could. Then scratched out the optical code (thinking it might identify me) and mailed it. My understanding is that ‘prepaid’ means they cover whatever it costs. I hope it cost them plenty!

  • BettsAZ

He looks good in little hitler mustaches too!

  • BettsAZ

I stopped listening to NPR a long time ago.I got tired of yelling at my radio.I’ve thrown them, along with CNN,MSNBC,ABC,CBS,and NBC under my SUV.

  • Heather

Denise, I have to disagree with you: This feels good, and the three words you used (“bitter, prideful stubbornness”) hardly appear in my lexicon. I’m a happy person with a great job, a wonderful family, and a small but beautiful home.

I get a LOT of good laughs from this site! The comments here express rapier-like wit, great timing, snappy comebacks, and wonderful satire. They’re hilarious, and I spend a lot of time laughing right out loud.

On the serious side, the Democratic Party, the DNC, the Obama campaign, and the MSM all need to be made aware that their behavior cannot stand. While having a blast trashing Obama on a daily basis, we are getting the word out that there IS something here to be concerned about.

So, hey, if being here makes YOU feel bitter, prideful or stubborn, it’s ok because there are lots of other web sites you can go to.

  • Heather

    And oh yeah, plus …

This is a GREAT place to get news and links to what is happening in the campaign. It’s my first stop every day.

  • TeakwoodKite

OB has issues, So did Captian Ahab.

  • TJ

Lucky! I’ve canceled twice and still it comes! I bet I gave them the same reason as you. I just throw it upside down in the recycle bin as soon as I get the mail. I give up!

  • Heather

Yeah might might explain some of the recent ones. But you know, I say “the more the merrier”. Let them give us what they have. It never seems to amount to much.

The Obamabots are only effective when they can gang up on someone and troll-rate them into oblivion, which Larry apparently does not allow. Yay and THANK YOU Larry!

  • The Real Hope

I like to use Obama’s newspaper pictures to pick up after my little Chihuahua when we stroll down the most fashionable avenues of our little wine country town. I especially enjoy waving at my Obama loving neighbors as I bend over nonchalantly, point to Obama’s pic and smear it in canine feces.

  • The Real Hope

Oh shut up Denise. You are a redundant bore. The only one around here who is mad is you. Go die somewhere and stop the moaning.

  • Heather

Hey I have a chihuahua too! Wonderful little dogs.

  • The Real Hope

    Heather,
I just put PUMA on mine, but I’ve heard some others have actually filled theirs with cat feces.

  • TeakwoodKite

Known as “Number Six” by his captors, unsuccessfully attempting to escape from “the Village”, but successfully resisting interrogation and attempts of brainwashing.

    “Where am I?”
    “In the Village.”
    “What do you want?”
    “Information.”
    “Whose side are you on?”
“That would be telling…. We want information. Information! INFORMATION!”
    “You won’t get it.”
“By hook or by crook, we will.”
    “Who are you?”
    “The new Number Two.”
    “Who is Number One?”
    “You are Number Six.”
    “I am not a number — I am a free man!”
    (Laughter from Number Two.)

McCain has praised Hillary as well. Actually, they seem to like each other.
A McCain/Clinton ticket would really stick to the BO!
Can’t you just see the looks on all their faces in BO’s camp if that were to happen?
    LOL!

  • The Real Hope

    Heather,
Aren’t they great! I actually don’t think Obama’s pic is good enough for my little chi’s behind though.

  • Darryl

Speaking of, I got an email from moveon.org the other day–got no idea how they got my email. Anyhow I order like 50 campign bumper stickers for free, lol. When I get them, I will burn them in a cursing cerimony to counter the voodoo this man has put upon this nation.

  • Darryl

Omg, I am so gonna use your idea from right NOW! Just printed a picture and going for a walk.

  • TeakwoodKite

    Can I counterpoint here?
The best thing for those of us who loath Obama is to ensure he keeps being exposed in every way. The more people see him the less they like him. Even when he controls the message. Encouraging the media to allow Obama to disappear for 3 weeks works FOR Obama now.

Them ore this is about OBama the more it hurts him.

OMG I thought I was the only loon doing that! How funny. I am always wondering if the Barnes & Noble people are going to see me hiding BO’s ugly mug under some other magazines :)

    Thanks Larry.

The Obamabots are bullies. They are brave in numbers but one-on-one, they run away like scared little rats.

They don’t have facts and can’t address issues. Just like Obama.

PP, you DO know your porn star names…wait…you said stripper…OOPS! Okay, okay I’m a female sexist pig…and damn proud of it. Men are only good for one thing and it ain’t running the planet.

  • Pink Panther

And I bet the female Obama supporters have to make the food for the gatherings, clean up after the parties, and are told to never question the male trolls, to know their place and to never interrupt the male trolls.

  • http://hillarysmygirl08.wordpress.com Hillaryormccain08

your point is what? you must either be a newcomer to politics are you are a complete and total nutjob. His poll numbers are down in fact he is losing ground in the blue states. Of course when Obambi the most retarded person in America gets really beat up by the Republicans in October I do not see Oblowme I need crack cocaine right now. Take a look at the AOL straw poll to see what the map is going to be like in November. You only wish we were small. Not everyone participates in the letter writers. I figure it this way I do not plan on being nice to politicans. You want your seat you vote for Hillary at the convention. Oh and unless she gets all the stolen delegates back I will not vote Democrat again. Oblowme will be living under a bridge with his now unemployed wife and his poor daughters. His wife sorry she ever let him run for President. So take your troll ass out of here. Your stinking up the place.

  • Pink Panther

But, we have to take factual information, with citations, to other blogs. Keeping the information here is preaching to the choir.

  • http://firefox AnnieCarmel

Excellent ideas! I was having a “talk” with an Obama supporter downtown today. Amazing how ill informed they are…didn’t seem to know anything about the Hillary slurs or giving Hillary the finger from his podium. Playacting? Maybe.

Anyone know a site where I can print out a copy of the giving of the finger picture? She’s got me going now and I will educate her.

  • http://hillarysmygirl08.wordpress.com Hillaryormccain08

It’s fun and I am sorry but sexism sells and I am not buying. I am going to get my information from places like this. I am not angry although I am getting death threats and I even got a treat from ACORN. They torched my tree. Yes you heard me I got a death threat and a warning. “This is what happens when you disagree with Obama.” What did I do to deserve this? I refused and still refuse to take down my Hillary sign and I refuse to put that dirtbags sign anywhere near my house. They didn’t care that they could have caused major problems they didn’t care as long as they were doing their Master’s bidding.

    Hi Bell!
When the Times went into the tank for Obama I abruptly canceled my subscription letting them know exactly why.
Over the past three months they’ve called everyday trying to get this once loyal reader.

I guess I’ll just ignore the Obama crap

  • Ai1een

Uhhhh Debbie – You hoo – For a “WORLD VIEW” one will certainly NOT find it in the U.S. Media, therefore, I go to the BBC and other news organizations around the world for my “world view”. In fact, European news agencies were actually LAUGHING AT OUR U.S. MEDIA on Obamamia’s Rock Star Tour – and contrary to ANYTHING you heard in the U.S. Media, they were quite “tongue in cheek” about the U.S. public fawning over Obama and treating him like the second coming. Did our U.S. Media tell Americans that all of Obama’s speeches were preceeded by free food, beer and rock concerts? NO…NOT ONE…on the other hand, the European newspapers and media outlets DID inform their citizens. It’s the difference between a censored, propagandist U.S. Media and TRUTH.

Actually Denise, I feel quite EMPOWERED every time I …(notice the important “I”) CHOOSE to toss out Obama material, change the TV channel or pick up my dog’s droppings with Newsweeks that won’t stop coming despite my letters to stop my subscription. I love receiving pleas for money from Obama and the DNC and absolutely RELISH writing “P.U.M.A.” in bold red and returning it to the DNC…like Clint Eastwood, “It makes my day.” Contrary to your rant, I’M NOT AN EMOTIONAL MESS AT ALL – it’s called fortitude, strength and determination…exactly what our forefathers and foremothers had to have to build this nation…i.e., WE AT NO QUARTER ARE NOT WEAK MINDED SELLOUTS.

  • http://lesstalkmoreactivism.blogspot.com/ whoframedrudy

Like Obama like Bush. Bush is as Obama does.

I’ve been jumping for the remote at the sight of Bush’s face for 8 years now. I would really like to have a President that doesn’t make me nauseous, even if I don’t agree with his/her policies.

McCain should talk about how better off we’d be today if he had won the nomination in 2000. He won’t throw Bush under the bus, but he can talk honestly about why he was the better choice. McCain has to link Obama to Bush.

Right wing extremists supported Bush. Left wing extremists support Obama. Evangelicals backed Bush blindly. Blacks back Obama blindly. The media was Bush’s —wipe then. The media is Obama’s —wipe now. Like Obama Like Bush.

You’re not the only one Nancy – I too can’t watch him or read anything about him. This made me laugh today – in an airport on the top shelf. A copy of NO OBAMANATION. Look who the Messiah has as his campaign finance chair:

Yesterday, February 20, 2008, on Flashpoints Radio (Stream/podcast Link), an investigative report into Penny Pritzker, the Obama campaign finance chairman. She and her family were central to the innovation known as “Mortgage Backed Securities,” which are now at the center of the financial crisis and real estate melt down.

    .

There are rumors she gives to republicans, and it’s true. She gave $1,000 to both John McCain and George W. Bush in the 1999 primary. She also gave money to McCain for Senate in 1998. She also gave money to Barack Obama for his failing House bid in 1999. She gave to Bill Frist, Rudi Giuliani’s exploratory fund, and several other Republicans in 2000. $4,000 to Joe Lieberman in 2006 (he’s practically a Republican). Dennis Hastert in 2006, 2003. You get the idea.

I would like to be able to pick BO apart with better expertise- but it’s sort of difficult when I can’t stand to watch or listen to him.

    NancyA,
you hit the nail on the head for me. I too have the same reaction….can’t stand him. I can’t stand looking at him or hearing his voice droning on and on…about nothing! He drives me crazy when he starts with, “the notion that” or “no, no, what I said was…”, because its typically followed by a huge lie. I force myself to be knowledgable of what he is doing and saying in order to nimbly counteract his antics and reinforce the truth.

This is the same reaction i have had for 9 dreary years of gwb (campaign +2 terms of potus)…feeling completely reviled by him.

I don’t think I have “Obama fatigue”. I’m sooo tired of him I have “Go Away Obama, just go away”!

  • maggie

Yes, I too cannot stand even the mention of his name. Haven’t turned on the cable news channels for six weeks now and guess what — I feel so much better, so much calmer not hearing “Barak Obama, Barak Obama, Barak Obama” in ever sentence. I’ve just withdrawn and for a person who has been very politically active, this is very painful. I’m considering not voting at all now — which will be a first for me — but politics at this time makes me physically ill.

The cover I hated the most was the most recent Rolling Stone Obama cover.

It’s a picture of him in mid-laugh. The photo is altereed so that it’s in that shadowy Communist style.

There were no words on the cover other than Rolling Stone.. usually there’s two columns of text on the cover.

I’m waiting for the next cover where they’ll have the editor sucking Obama’s cock.

  • Susan

That’s so funny, I have been doing this for years. Whenever I’m in a store and see a book by someone like Ann Coulter, I always turn it around or put it behind another book. I have added Obama to my list of book “turn arounds” – or should I call them “flip-flops”? I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who does this – my kids think I’m crazy. I understand that my action won’t affect book sales, but at least I feel better – and if I can save 1 person from a kool-aid induced coma, so much the better!

  • Susan

Yeah, Obama’s the Mary Hart to our Kramer. For those Sienfeld fans.

“my own personal boycott” – everything before that was unnecessary and unprofessional for this important website-

i’ve said it before Larry and I’ll say it again.. your writing is eloquent and always a good read- allowing this kind of personal diary crap is hurting your site- too many new authors allowed to have free reign over your site is a disappointment.

raise this site back up to where it started out. i’d rather see hours go by with no new posts from a worthwhile writer than allowing the rants of just anyone in order to fill up space-

Have these weirdos in the rag biz NEVER been around an articulate black person?

    Oblowme isn’t magical – he isn’t even a magician.

The media pushing this hopey dopey horseshit is irresponsible.

The cover I’m hoping for is: Oblowme Indicted on 30 Counts of Public Corruption

Then things would change for the better in Illinois and the USA!

  • Lester

Ditto! Can’t stand the sight of him or to hear him speak.

  • hootnannie

I don’t even turn to MSNBC or CNN anymore. If I watch TV in the evening, it’s always O’Reilly or Hannity and Colmes, and half the time I turn them off from boredom. I watch anything political on Washington Journal on CSPAN in the morning, and that’s about it. My husband still watches MSNBC and CNN, and I’ve often remarked that when I walk into the house and he’s got MSNBC on, within about 15 seconds, the words “Barack Obama” spue forth. (I’ve noticed, though, that it’s usually not spoken with the same awestricken gusto as it used to be!)
Now this peaked-too-soon argument reminds me of a sex act. Either a candidate has staying power or he doesn’t. Of course, Bobo could be thought of as a minuteman, huh?

  • mimi

They’ve let her out again, but this time she’s on script. She reads from notes. But she did ad-lib. Clearly, she doesn’t like the campaign telling her what to do or say.

    This won’t last.

It’s so nice to hear that others are on a blackout too.

I won’t watch their orgy in Denver either. Bill can speak for 2 hours I won’t watch.

And I was a regular, too. First thing in the morning CNN, at 6:30 World News Tonight with Charles Gibson, then over to CNN for the rest of the evening. On Sundays all the news shows. I only watch the McGlaughlin Group now. And sometimes not even that. I won’t watch This Week until George bans Donna Brazile.

These people won’t get my viewership back either.

    Pink Panther-

    I agree with you.

We need to pass facts-including links and opinions-including reasons why we hold certain opinions (and include links here too if possible).

Venting is healthy but we are running out of time.

We need to focus and get the facts out to the public.

Trust in the truth-That is all we can do…oh…and one more thing- PAY CLOSE ATTENTION—REAL CLOSE ATTENTION–to make sure no irregularities take place during voting.

Read the playbook from the last two preesidential elections and make sure NO ONE…and I mean NO ONE (repubs, Dems, ) tries to pull something funny again regarding the voting process

This is a good website to keep track of this.

If anyone can refer us to additionalsources, it would be greatly appreciated

I totally agree – We want Hillary because (in part) as in the old vaudeville days, She left us wanting more!!!
She’s not only the most qualified but she is easier on the senses over time…she has lasting, rock-solid qualities.

Obama is a flash in the pan. He and his movement will burn out.

Hillary was over-marketed in the beginning too. The media went on and on about ‘Clinton Fatigue’ – which was another excuse for removing her from the stage.

His whole schtick is tired. I never fell for it or him…the media will need a new narrative soon enough.

Besides America loves the underdog story!

McCain shows quiet resolve and restraint. The Paris ad really works. It has legs – because the lap dog media can’t resist promoting Paris – it makes the point about Obama on many psychological levels. Like a fairytale – (not the WJC context) – it can be enjoyed as light-hearted fun, for the message or because it’s another tantalizing bit of viral pop culture.

So let them flap their jaws – we’ll be turning off and dropping out…

Hey — that is exactly what I DO!! My husband hands me the mail and he knows what to expect. I don’t bother ripping the cover — I (with great ceremony) proceed to the garbage can and trash the whole issue.

I ALSO mute the TV or radio on any BO sound bites or interviews. I just can’t listen to him anymore, it upsets me too much.

  • Flforexperience

I feel exactly the same as this post. I discontinued my Time subscription when they put Bush on the cover as “Man of the Year.” I discontinued my subscription to Newsweek after Jonathan Alter’s inflammatory, untrue article about Hillary Clinton. I have written across the renewal request from Newsweek that it should be called Obamaweek and that I would not be renewing. I put the cover of the Newsweek which they sent in spite of my cancellation(the one with the picture of Obama and his so-called faith) into the shredder!! I wonder if this is like sticking pins into a voodoo doll? Thanks for writing, it is consoling to know that I am not alone.

  • Hope Floats

I noticed that in the NYT reading the “What Hillary Wants” article. (Btw, the hatred still burns brightly.) McCain made a big to-do of immediately returning $50,000. No one had to point it out. His own people spotted it and thought there was something fishy. It didn’t take months with another $2500 being returned next month. And I am sure he’ll have receipts to show. The brothers in Gaza said they never got any money back. Who knows? Stupid MSM. They’re so obvious.

  • Hope Floats

They didn’t have a choice. He was the only name on the ballot!

  • Hope Floats

As Hillary once said to Madeleine Albright, “Men can be such assholes.”

  • Hope Floats

I wonder if they call one another by their porn names when they’re all snuggled up in their bunk beds in Gaza.

Read it and weep, GOP Trolls and Deluded Bitters:

The breathless excitement with which The Note and others in the media have hyped the “effectiveness” of McCain’s recent attack ads is not only silly, it is contradicted by the polls.

All one has to do is take a look at the numbers.

    CNN 6/26-6/29: Obama 50%, McCain 45%
    CNN 7/27-7/29: Obama 51%, McCain 44%

    CBS 7/7/-7/14: Obama 45%, McCain 39%
    CBS 7/31-8/5: Obama 45%, McCain 39%

    Ipsos 6/5-6/11: Obama 50%, McCain 43%
    Ipsos 7/31-8/4: Obama 48%, McCain 42%

    Time 6/19-6/25: Obama 47%, McCain 43%
    Time 7/31-8/4: Obama 46%, McCain 41%

    Pew 6/18-6/29: Obama 48%, McCain 40%
    Pew 7/23-7/27: Obama 47%, McCain 42%

    NBC/Wall Street Journal 6/6-6/9: Obama 47%, McCain 41%
    NBC/Wall Street Journal 7/18-7/21: Obama 47%, McCain 41%

The only national poll in recent weeks which has shown any statistically significant movement toward McCain is the USA Today/Gallup Poll done between 7/25 and 7/27. It also happened to be based on the smallest sample (791 “likely voters”) taken by any national pollster since early May, and there are serious questions about how Gallup defines “likely voters.” The same poll showed Obama with a lead among registered voters.

In addition, state-by-state polls continue to show that Obama has a significant lead on the electoral map.

Me to.I have not watch msnbc-msn-cnn-abc now for a long time.I believe from April 14.I watch the convention on the internet.I will not turn on any network that did what they did to Hillary and the people.MANBC-KEITH OLBERMANN-CHUCK TODD-those two ladies one who is like chocking making those awful sounds and I don’t even remember the other one,Well she or they are not worth remembering.

Whu gave rayeings to media who are not real media??They shown themselve as bisa and out to control the american people will. They did real harm to senator Hillary Clinton. But hey sentor Hillary clinton held her head high and kept going without a word of calling them out or complaining about them.Obama will run to them on anything-Well he would call ok Keith baby get this out, remember word for word and hey put you ungly face on as well. Thanks buddy.I may get a chance to throw you under the bus-Oh just kidding -

Well I can say one thing I will not ever vote Obama. My vote is for Hillary or McCain.

Sure they have to make it look like Obama is ahead just as they did to Hillary. They want to hide the fact that Obama is falling behind.Oh their poor little puppet.

    Hillary for president 08
    McCain for president 08

I thought I was the only one doing that, every place I go and I see the One on the cover I turn it over. Hey, maybe we should pass this on as an effective, grass roots effort by anyone who doesn’t have the time to do anything else because we’re working 2 jobs. Only Hillary remains the most competent, effective leader to help the working classes. I pray BO is exposed and she wins the nomination.

  • navyvet48

Obama has not returned the money. I am very certain of it!

  • navyvet48

They will never be paid in full. Every time kids answer these ads they never get that much money. The Grassroots Campaigns Inc which is doing the same hiring in Massachusetts is under investigation by the Wage and Hour Board- Departmen of Labor because the kids never get pad as promised and never for overtime work. ACORN is under investigationin Ohio for the same thing. Pay problems. Do not work for these people. Warn evry one you know! And for heaven’s sake post or write something nasty if you see their ads on bulletin boards, these kids will get screwed!

  • navyvet48

Actually I discussed it with my therapist and you know what she says it is good, cathartic in sense, she also likes that I am fighting to defeat Obama, it is filling the space that was left when I made my last stop in Montana while running the Veterans for Hillary Tour there …. nothing wrong with it. I don’t hate Obama, I just can’t stand being reminded every day that this election was bought by the Obama machine and he is the most inexperienced, no nothing candidate the UNdemocratic Party has ever given us.. I know there is someone out there who will unravel the money and expose Obama for what he is a liar who sold his soul to a Devil! And when it comes out Obama is dead meat. And then we can take back the Democratic Party, neuter Dean and the deaniacs, fire Donna Brazilnuts and so on and so forth……we must defeat Obama for the good of the party. Hillary is first in our house….and always has been

My husband said this about Hillary, when Bill had his dalliances Hillary could have left him. She didn’t. She stood by her man….divorce is a very easy thing to do these days…..and because she stood by her man, he has the utmost respect for her! That is what won his heart…..but he says it is even deeper now because he knows how smart she is.

    Rip the cover off!

  • navyvet48

This wasn’t a rant at all it was meant to be somewhat satirical. It was meant to give people an outlet to discuss their feelings and their thoughts on the saturation. By allowing the people who comment here to do that we may have a better insight into the people who responded to the poll. And I believe we got to do a comparison check on the people who are on the internet and maybe never called by these pollsters. It was also an interesting means to discuss current polls. I think NancyA handled this poll on Obama saturation in a refreshing manner. I ignore polls … if this had just been another showing of poll numbers and the information pollsters spew out I wouldn’t have stopped to read this.

And I have heard that Larry thinks NancyA is an excellent researcher. He thinks her writing is good and deserves a place on his blog!

[...] Newsweek sent me a free subscription to their magazine, one I’ve been trying to cancel for weeks now. [...]
