During our discussion we came to the conclusion that JFK had the longest coat-tails in history. The man has been dead for almost 50 years, and he can still influence elections in this country. Look at the ongoing campaign drivel from Obama's team where he and his gargantuan, badly dressed wife are compared to JFK and Jackie. And if JFK hadn't been assassinated, you know he wouldn't have had that sort of long term influence. It's just weird that the longest political coat-tails in the history of the US belong to an assassinated President whose successor did more for the country than he did.
