“Droopy Dog” and “Eeyore” Equals…

Last night I was watching a video of President Obama. My partner walked through the room and said, “What in the Sam Hill are you doing”? (or words to those effects). I responded, I saw this piece by Mary Katherine Ham, with this description:

On the ol’ Inspiro-meter, I’d say the president has hit that rarely reached sweet spot right between Droopy the Dog and Eyeore. Note, in particular, the deadness in his eyes as he closes out his appeal.

How could I NOT watch the ad?

And now, so can you:

Ms. Ham is right on target.

It is to the ad above that State Senator Scott Brown said to Obama, Scott Brown: Obama Not Invited To This Party. Whoa. There’s more:

Surging GOP Senate candidate Scott Brown yesterday warned President Obama to “stay away” from the Bay State during his roiling race against Democratic rival Martha Coakley and not to interfere with their intensifying battle in the campaign’s final days.

“He should stay away and let Martha and I discuss the issues one on one,” Brown said. “The machine is coming out of the woodwork to get her elected. They’re bringing in outsiders, and we don’t need them.”

Coakley’s campaign showed signs of panic as they scrambled to get a last-minute appearance by Obama to bolster their effort before Tuesday’s election.

Some polls are showing the Senate contest far closer than any pundits expected, and Coakley in danger of losing her clear shot at the historic seat.

Coakley said yesterday she hasn’t heard from the White House. “I welcome his support, but we’ve got a lot of support here in Massachusetts (and) I think he’s got a lot on his plate in Washington,” she said.

Obama press secretary Robert Gibbs said yesterday that the president had no plans to visit Massachusetts, even though he realizes “there’s a lot at stake in the election.”

But sources said Coakley is pushing for a Sunday event with Obama as the race remains glued to the national spotlight.

“We would love to see Obama any time,” said Boston City Council President Michael Ross, a Coakley supporter who attended her event at Dorchester’s Kit Clark Senior Center yesterday. “Any time the president of the United States comes it will remind Democrats to get involved.”

Considering Obama’s continually tanking poll numbers, not to mention the swing to Brown, I imagine Senator Brown would love to see Obama come there to stump for Coakley, too, right? Oh, yeah:

But Republican consultant Charlie Manning said a visit from a president with tanking ratings would make Coakley look desperate as upstart Brown enjoys a last-minute boost from climbing poll numbers and media momentum.

“It’s sort of like trying to bail out a boat that’s already sinking. I don’t think they can fool the voters of Massachusetts this time,” Manning said.

National interest in the race centers on an impending vote on health-care reform – championed by the late U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy.

A Brown win would be crushing for Obama, who would lose a 60-seat Democratic majority in the Senate, said Larry J. Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics.

In addition to a rally headed by former President Bill Clinton planned for tomorrow, Coakley’s team circulated a heartfelt plea from Kennedy’s widow, Vicki, last night asking supporters for help. They’re also rumored to be pushing for a potential event with Caroline Kennedy, daughter of the late President John F. Kennedy.

“It’s a real fight at this point in time,” said U.S. Rep. William Delahunt (D-Quincy). “We’re doing everything we can to help.”

Brown urged Coakley’s campaign to keep the race about local issues instead of national figures.

“It’s me against the machine,” he said. “And it always has been.”

No doubt Brown has that right.

But the other thing he has right is highlighting Coakley’s support for a Healthcare Bill opposed by TWO-THIRDS of the country, not to mention the possibility of Cap And Trade (which might as well be called, “Cost and Tax”), also opposed by two-thirds of Americans.

I don’t know what the outcome will be on Tuesday. Previously, I had thought Coakley would be good, but then she keeps opening her mouth and demonstrating how clueless she is (no terrorists in Afghanistan? Really?? Oh, that’s good news. I wonder why she knows this and no one else in the entire country does?). To support her just because she is a woman isn’t good enough. She has to be a good choice, the best choice, too. If Brown can put the brakes on this Senate Run Wild, well, I can support that. Someone needs to do it, that’s for damn sure.

What I do know is I will be watching with great anticipation come Tuesday night!

  • Craig Della Penna

“To support her just because she is a woman isn’t good enough. She has to be a good choice, the best choice, too.”

Good for you RRRA – right as rain, yes, we need more women in government but we just learned what happens when you elect the “kewl” guy with nothing behind his eyes.

  • sowsear

Latest news: Bo will go to MA. He’ll probably bring his “troops” with him for Tuesday’s vote.

  • Docelder

Troops = purple shirts. Completely unlike brown shirts because they are purple.

  • Jackie S

    Amen Rev. Amy,

We need good people of both genders in office.

Given Coakley’s record as a prosecuter and a person I am not a fan.

I am going to pop up to MA to knock doors for Brown. Our nation’s worth it.

  • DS

Yes, Mass. residents cast historic votes… they voted overwhelmingly for Hillary.

  • WestVirginia304

Coakley – ACORN.  Here is an interesting press release on Coakley’s official govt website:

Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley Scores A+ for Response to Foreclosure Crisis – FROM ACORN!

Coakley’s press release goes on to detail various prosecutions of shady subprime operators but, of course, there is not a word about any investigation or prosecution of ACORN.

She should have scrubbed her website.  Too late.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Thanks, Craig.  Honestly, I would LOVE to have more women in Congerss.  We are woefully under-represented, but to send just anyone without care to credentials, experience, or position is most definitely NOT the way to go abt it.

  • Sassy

All things being equal, Coakley has made several mistakes in her campaign recently. They are already being offered as excuses for her loss.
It is easy for things to spin out of control when one is scrutinized constantly, but she is either arrogant or unprepared.
I agree that the outcome is going to be very interesting!

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Good for you, Jackie!  Please keep us posted on your experiences there!

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Yes, they did, DS, because she was the BEST person for the job.  But the DNC Powers-That-Be decided not to follow the will of the people, but threw their support to Obama (Patrick, Kerry, and Kennedy).

We would be looking at a very different country now had the DNC not commited fraud and picked the nominee themselves without care to the voices of the people as reflected in our votes.

  • TeakWoodKite

“We would love to see Obama any time,” said Boston City Council President Michael Ross, a Coakley supporter..

Notice he did not say President Obama. (which is one of the few times you will ever see me type it as well.)

  • I’m a Linda too

Yep, you and she are correct.  But even though his eyes, always cold, distant, emotionless, his facial expressions are less.  Is it because he’s been looking older and tired, but his forehead isn’t moving.  Did he get Botox injections too?

I swear, watch that video again.

And you are correct about Martha.  Not that I knew much about her in the primary, but she was holding to her principles, but has quickly changed those principles ???

And, indeed, this reckless Mobster Gang called the Democratic Congress needs to be stopped in their tracks.  ONly after Russ Feingold was met with unhappy voters on this health care bill….even though he know he LIED when he said he wouldn’t support it if it didn’t have specific goals, of which it doesn’t and he still voted for it.  Only now does he voice concern over the special deals and says, if it’s not good enough on its merits to pass w/o special deals, then it shouldn’t pass or all should have the deal.  Uh, duh.  Dem’s are showing their sellout and unawareness.

But now we have more to fear.  With all these special deals and pvt assurances to Insurance, Big Pharma and Hospitals, waivers for contributers et al.  The costs for us in the middle will continue increasing  But even before that, this:

    EDITORIAL: Obamacare’s marriage penalty

    THE WASHINGTON TIMES

    …

The first sort of marriage penalties affects low- and middle-income couples who would get their insurance without employer assistance but with government subsidies. The penalties accrue through the “caps” on premiums. In the House plan, an unmarried couple living together with each earning $25,000 would pay no more than $3,076 in combined premiums each year. If the same couple got married, their annual cap would skyrocket to $5,160 – a 68 percent punishment just for saying “I do.” (The penalty in the Senate bill is slightly lower, at 48 percent.)

What is even worse is that the subsidies are suddenly and completely cut off once somebody reaches 400 percent of the official poverty-level income ($63,360 in 2016). The arithmetic is complicated, but what it means is that two unmarried persons earning $32,000 each ($64,000 total) would pay a maximum combined $5,684 in premiums, but if they got married, they would pay about $15,000. That is an astonishing penalty of 164 percent. It is almost impossible to imagine a policy that could be any more anti-family than that.

Again, that was for middle-income earners receiving government subsidies in lieu of employer tax breaks for insurance. Now consider a high-earning couple. The Senate bill imposes a payroll tax increase on individuals who make more than $200,000. For married couples, though, the tax increase kicks in at $250,000. So, if you live together without matrimony, you can earn up to $400,000 combined without the higher tax – $150,000 more than you can earn together if you are married. At a maximum of $1,350, this marriage penalty through taxation isn’t anywhere near as damaging as the $9,316 knockout punch via lost subsidies for the $64,000 couple described above, but it’s still nothing to take lightly.

  • I’m a Linda too

rofl  yeah, but don’t bring him to any wings and things restaurant, He’ll still your wings while Biden drinks the beer!

  • amirosa

I hope Obama stays away from MA.  We all remember the fate of NJ’s Corzine after he Obama campained for him!

  • I’m a Linda too

rofl yeah, but don’t bring him to any wings and things restaurant, He’ll steal your wings while Biden drinks the beer!

  • arabella trefoil

He looks cross-eyed in this video.

  • TeakWoodKite

WestVirginia304, makes you wonder why Pelosi backed the other candidate and lost.
    Anyway, this is for you.

  • Docelder

New Democrats love them some social engineering. Anything to discourage parents of children actually staying together.

  • I’m a Linda too

And the Lady is answering the call again, flying to Haiti herself, tomorrow.

    GOOOO Hillary!…and, thank you.

  • creeper

Where’s the “preacher” cadence?  You know…the da dum, da dum, da dum, BARK!   It’s gone.  What’s up with that?

As for Coakley, I read a bit today (courtesy of links in a Bronwyn’s Harbor diary) about Coakley’s relentless efforts to keep Gerald Amirault in prison after the Parole Board voted unanimously to release him.  Now I don’t know if Amirault is innocent but the prosecution was a mite short on evidence that he was guilty.

The disappointments just keep piling up.  Here’s one more candidate that looked like a good thing but turned out to be only another self-serving pol.

  • creeper

arabella, I watched it again without sound.  I think what’s causing him to look cross-eyed is his eyes following the words on the teleprompter.  You can see them traveling back and forth.

With that string of references to himself, sometimes it was hard to tell just who he’s campaigning for in this video.  Then it becomes suddenly clear.  He’s campaigning for someone he sees as an extension of himself.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Holy crappydoo, IALT – that is just shocking!  Wow – thank you for that!

Absolutely, this runaway Congress needs to be stopped.  If not on Tues., I imagine Nov. will be a mighty interesting month…

  • oowawa

You’re right, Rev. Amy.  As a rebel rouser yourself, I’m sure that you immediately noticed that Thee One’s speech didn’t make many people want to raise both hands in the air and yell “Yaaa-Hoooo! Coakley!”  However, staring straight ahead at a single teleprompter is never His best venue.  Wait till he gets there in person, descending upon Mass on the Sabbath, brushing the Brown off of his shoulder, scratching his face with his middle finger, and pumping his fist “Yes We Can!!!!”  Get his head going back and forth like at a tennis match, both teleprompters blazing, and the crowd will start to sway with the rhymic pulse of his chant “Coakley!  Coakley!! COAKLEY!!!”

    Or doesn’t that stuff work anymore . . .

  • PortiaElizabeth

And in today’s Boston Globe was another story about an elderly couple who were about to have their house foreclosed on today. The man shot and killed his terminally-ill wife, shot his horse, then killed himself. The news story said the man had tried to work out some way to keep his home by talking with the bank, but was refused last week.

This isn’t the first such story in the Globe. If it’s happening in Massachusetts, it’s happening elsewhere in this country. As far as I’m concerned the Democratic party and Obama have blood on their hands.

  • Daisy Mae

“But even though his eyes, always cold, distant, emotionless, his facial expressions are less.”

The dead eyes, the cold distancing, lack of connection and emotion are typical of narcissism.  I think the mask is off, and the “cool” isn’t “kewl” any more.  It’s just cold leftovers.

And, I thought that video was so oblah blah blah blah blah bl bl b b b b zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

I was in Boston then, and very familiar with this case (Fells Acre).  Gerald’s sister and his mother, were also released.  From everything I knew of his sister and mother, it was right for the charges to be dropped.

  • Tuppence 411

RRRA,  I understand rejecting identity politics. But for the life of me I can’t understand any voter rejecting their own self interests and values to make a “point”.

In your blog you touched on two or three of the currently circulating talking points against Coakley but here are the rest  http://ertwngr.blogspot.com/2010/01/how-radically-liberal-is-martha-coakley.html#comments    If you or the HillBuzz guys  would like Brown’s record on LGBTissues,  I will gladly provide.

You know I love you and enjoy your posts very much ( especially that pic of you on a camel!),  but you and I must agree to disagree on the suitability of Brown, even if I held my nose.

PS:   my husband  was also amazed that I listened to all of Barky’s robocall  LOL  He thought hell froze over!

  • arabella trefoil

Obama can help Coakley by doing stuff like this:

  • PortiaElizabeth

Someone I have alot of respect for is jbjd. Ever since this senate race began, I’ve made note of certain comments jbjd made about Martha Coakley, with personal knowledge of Coakley’s less-than-admirable acts as AG in MA.  The words of jbjd were enough to put doubt in my mind as to Coakley’s worthiness for the job. Now, with all that’s come out recently, I have no confidence at all in the Dem and even donated to Brown’s campaign yesterday.

As for BO (Teak, I refuse to call that person my President), coming to the state to campaign, I say it can only be good for Brown since we all know how successful his campaigning was for the Chicago Olympics.

  • Anonymous

Somewhere I saw that picture of Coakley’s “bodygyard” knocking down/helping up the reporter ,and attention was drawn to the guy’s purple shirt. Is that for real?

  • PortiaElizabeth

I thought there was something not quite right about his eyes, too. And was it my imagination or was there an ever so slight trembling, lending credence to the Parkinson’s rumor?

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

LOL – too funny, oowawa.  Thank you for that.

At least when he only looks at one teleprompter, I don’t have to take the Dramamine…

  • I’m a Linda too

    YEP!

…I’m hopeful it will start TUESDAY.

    …it’s great to have H 8-) PE

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

From what I understand, Brown supports civil unions.  That’s true for many, many Dems. in office. I am not sure what else you have seen abt Brown on that, but I’d sure be interested in learning abt it (as I assume everyone here would).

There seem to be a LOT of talking points AGAINST Coakley, though, including some of her legal decisions, which to me, are indicators of how she would make decisions in the Senate.

As I said in my post (and thank you very much for the compliments, you know I appreciate them!), I previously was thrilled abt Coakley.  But the more I learn abt her, the more reservations I have that she would be a good choice, especially since she has ALREADY caved and said she would vote for this healthcare bill being pushed by Obama.  Do we really need another spineless Dem?

Again, I would LOVE to have more women in Congress – we NEED more women in Congress.  But not just any women – GOOD women who listen to their constituents and vote with their best interests at heart…So, it’s not *just* “to make a point,” but because she has demonstrated she is not a good choice by her own words/deeds (or lack thereof).

LOL abt the robo call, too!

    I appreciate your honesty, Tuppence!

  • Anonymous

Isn’t it amazing how often the camera catches him looking down his nose?

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Indeed, jbjd has been consistent in her comments abt Martha Coakley.  Since she actually lives in MA, and is an attorney, I give her opinion weight.

As BH pointed out earlier, Jeralyn from TalkLeft also opposes Coakley on her legal decisions.

Believe me, I wish she was a great candidate, I wish she didn’t say such stupid things (like abt Afghanistan – WOW), I wish she hadn’t already agreed to pass this horrendous bill, but she has.

SOMEONE has to stand for the majority of Americans in this country, and if that is Brown, then so be it.  Someone has to do it…

  • Breeze

Oh yes, Arabella – he really likes to hold on to them

    FAMILY JEWELS…..

  • Peggy Sue

I’m still trying to get my head around all of this.  If I didn’t know better you’d think the Dems were trying to lose this thing with a string of really stupid mistakes.  I cannot see where an Obama appearance is going to help Martha Coakley.  It certainly didn’t help Corzine in NJ when the President appeared in Camden and Newark the weekend before the Governor’s election.

There are just so many mistakes, the biggest of which is the pivot on the HCR so soon after the primary, and then the fundraiser in DC with the healthcare company and Pharma bigwigs doing a rah-rah.

It’s like sticking your fingers in the electorates’ eye.

On another site there was a Massachusetts’ resident who claimed Coakley’s people have also run Climate change ads [which, of course, implies the ever so, popular Cap&Trade bill].  Climate change during the dead of winter in which most of the country is in the deep freeze and where the real concern is the economy, jobs and this botched healthcare bill.

It makes no sense. I also picked up a lament from one of the MA union bosses, who said the whole thing reminded him of the Dukakis campaign.

    Now, that’s got to hurt.

Maybe, Coakley simply wasn’t prepared for the national attention or the obvious rage that’s clearly running wild through the country.  I don’t know who’s advising her, but they’re doing a lousy, lousy job.

    We shall see.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

The bodyguard DID knock down a Weekly Standard reporter, and COakley didn’t even ask how he was. She ignored it completely, just like she did his question abt her response on Afghanistan (she literally asked if someone else had a question).

  • Texas Playwright

Thanks again–as usual–for interesting info, R3 Amy.  This time I must pass on your suggestion–hearing/watching a bho the fraud video.  I have my health to consider when being exposed to poison.

  • POdVet

Apparently you all didn’t get the memmo. There are no terrorists in Afghanistan! They have officially been re-named to prevent it. No suicide bombers..instead they are now called. Manufacturers of improvised explosive devices who detonate them in close proximity to civilian and military targets. And it is the position of this administration, that unless you refer to them in exactly that way, they will deny their existence!

  • getfitnow
  • I

have to admit, Obama is ugly as hell.  There is no feature anyone would want from Obama – ears, lips, nose, eyes – all ugly.

This guy is ugly inside and out.

  • Binky

I’ll swear I just heard BO say at the beginning of the ad that he wanted to turn back the special interests in Washington.  Say what?

I feel sad when I allow myself to watch this man speak now–remembering how impressed I was when I first heard him speak at the Democrat Convention, was it in 2006?  and how hopeful I was at the beginning of the Democrat primary in 2008.  For the life of me, I can find no positive feelings for the man, just outright disgust at his  policies, his arrogance, his disregard for the people, and his lack of patriotism and pride in this country.  He’s just another self-serving politician, maybe worse than most.

  • jbjd

PE, I am humbled by this expression of your respect.  Just to clarify, my personal experience with MC was in her role as DA.  When she was an ADA, she worked alongside the man (R) whom the Governor (R) appointed to head our child protective agency, after he lost his own election to DA (of another county).  MC, newly elected, was interviewed by the press.  She described the man as her “mentor,” predicting he would “turn the troubled agency around.”  A few months later, I brought her charges that her mentor had illegally placed a newborn infant in the wrong home and tried to cover it up by leaving him there.  In the meantime, the foster family abused and neglected the baby.  But even now,  the agency refuses to move him in order to maintain the original cover-up, they misplaced him.  She refused to investigate these charges.  (She did contact the agency; and they did get the baby to the hospital, and make the foster parents take parenting classes with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.)  When the next Governor, also R, nominated her friend to become a judge, he underwent questioning by the Governor’s Council.  He was asked about this case.  He told questioners, there was nothing to my charges.  ‘The DA investigated and found nothing there.’  His appointment was confirmed.

this is one entertaining conversation.  i so agree with RRR Amy. Teak, and owaawa (you really brought back intense, distasteful reminders of campaign 2008).  some things will never leave me, and that scene of the mocking twerp, the disprespect, the depth of the scorn that was exhibited towards Hillary, it all comes back.  there are so many scenes emblazoned in my mind, and it wasn’t all that long ago really.
what we have here is the hard reality that the chickens have come home to roost; their droppings are becoming increasingly impossible to ignore.  it is over.  all that is left is the remaining struggle that we have before us ~ getting the one to accept that it is over too.  no…. not likely.

The ultimate sweetness will be in seeing Obamacare struck down as violating the Constitution’s mandates against the federal government before November 2012 and allowing Republicans to symbolize the efforts of his entire presidency as an illegal power grab. Not in falling for any old pretty face “Party of No” empty suit like Scott Brown.

  • Tuppence 411

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I ate dinner, then got side tracked.   Here is an blog that kinda sums it up http://www.edgemiami.com/index.php?ch=news&sc=&sc2=news&sc3=&id=101174

Scott Brown basically lead the charge in MA to give us our own Prop 8, reversing the MA Supreme Court decision and putting an amendment  to our constitution on ballot.  It was the main platform he ran on and won his District with… though to be fair and honest,  I do have in-laws in his District and they like him.

  • Cindy

Our first Stepford President. That’s what the ad says to me. Jeeze, for a guy who swears by global warming, he is one dude who’s demeanor is chilling!

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Thanks for this, Tuppence (and no worries – I just appreciate your finding this!).

Well, he is right that his position is the same as Obama’s – that’s not a great selling point to me, of course.  But, like I said, it is one many (most?) Dems seem to have these days.  Still, it would be nice if one could believe that he means what he says that it’s a oot point in MA now given that marriage is a right.

    Hahahahaha – yeah, trust a politician.  Ahahahahaha…

Unfortunately, Coakley is not to be trusted either (did you see jbjd’s comment down-thread?).

    Dangit.  :-E

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Great comment,Peggy Sue.  And that correlation to the Dukakis campaign is kinda scary…

It is astonishing that Coakley has shown her hand so much to support bills that Americans have clearly said we oppose.  Maybe she/Dems ARE trying to wreck this thing?

  • AnnieCarmel

OK this is from Uppity Woman and I couldn’t resist:

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting.

Well, for example, the other day my wife and I went into town and went into a shop.

We were only in there for about 5 minutes. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.

We went up to him and said, ‘Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?’

He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him a Nazi turd. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires.

So my wife called him a sh*t-head. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket.

This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, we didn’t care. We came into town by bus and the car had an Obama sticker.

We try to have a little fun each day now that we’re retired.

    It’s important at our age.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Good one, POdVet – amazing how you can actually make this funny.  Oh, wait – that is probably EXACTLY what they are calling it…

Interesting thought…but of course breaking laws/rulz are nothing with this bunch.

On the talk radio show, “Nightside With Dan Rea,” Coakley labeled Rudy Giuliani as a Yankee fan, then goes on to bizarrely describe Brown supporter Curt Schilling, the great former Red Sox pitcher, as a Yankee fan as well.

I think subconsciously she wants to lose. That has to be it. No one can be this stupid. There is ONE thing you don’t do in Boston and that is insult every single sports team over there.

It’s a sight to behold. It isn’t often you get to see someone self-destruct on the campaign trail. Its a mental thing with her, she doesn’t want the pressure of filling a Kennedy seat. This is the worst campaign I have ever seen anyone run.

  • Karma

It is weird how many huge gaffes she has made.

And what is up with using the WTC in an ad to represent Wall St?  It only reflected poorly on her and in ways that I didn’t think a campaign could stumble.  Did she ok that ad or delegate the responsibility?  Who let that thing air?

Peggy Sue upthread had some more great examples.  The whole thing is bizarre.

Tell ya what. If you want to make a consumer complaint and you are a Mass citizen good luck with that. On Croakley’s website there is nowhere to make that consumer complaint and there is no phone # to even call. In most other states you can do the complaint right online and there is also a phone number listed. My aged relative wanted to make a consumer complaint in MA and there was no way to do it. I guess Croakley is just there as atty general to collect her paycheck. Nothing more and nothing less. Imagine how accessible she’d be as Senator.
She is not suited to the job and she is not a right fit.
The aged community in MA is going to have their advantage care cut off and told to just go home and take a pain pill if Croakley gets in the Senate. Heck that’s what the VA nationwide tells patients with gallstones and other illnessess instead of operating on them. Oblamey wasn’t lieing about that one. People will be told to go home and take a pain pill. That’s the Gov for you. MA people will suffer if this deathcare bill goes through. They need to vote their own interests and bag the party voting. Most will stay home and not vote.
And listen to the Opukehead in the video lie about who overwhelmingly voted for him.. I guess he forgot that MA went to Hillary by a large margin. I bet you can count a dozen or more lies in that video. Why does he even bother?

Here’s your pill MA unless you wise up.

Interesting side note. Not sure if it is correct or not, but I heard Nina Easton, who has a history of working for the papers in Boston, say that it has been something like 25 or 30 years since Massachusetts sent a woman to Washington.

How many families are being charged 30% and higher percent interest on credit cards now when the credit card issuers are geting the money to loan out for nearly free interest? Meanwhile, home lenders aren’t lending. Technically they are, but they look for every reason not to lend right now. Then the loan underwriters are looking for every reason to reject the loans that the lenders would have made. It is a bloodbath out there for regular middle class America. Meanwhile, dear leader golfs and vacations. Sometimes he reads us fables off the teleprompter.

Should have been the first clue. But people were mystified at this point at how clean and articulate he was. Once that wore off, people were amazed that he wasn’t Bush. Now that we know he is the same as Bush, people are spellbound at how well he can read stories written by twentysomethings off the teleprompter. Amazing.

I’ll add to that, that secretly some Democrats hope Brown wins, so they can abandon the abhorrent health insurance reform.  They are being strong-armed, and know their constituents deplore it.  They would like nothing better than to walk away.

I watched it without sound too, can’t stand to listen to him. And I noticed that he looked annoyed, as if MA was letting him down by making him do this. They are the same expressions that I have seen on parents talking to an errant six year old.  Stern, disappointed and expecting better in future, that’s what his expressions say. And his eyes do go back and forth reading the teleprompter, which makes him look even more annoyed.

Even if Brown defeats Coakly won’t the dems just go for “reconcillation” & pass ObamaCare with 51 votes?

    Hey Rabble Rouser,

    Excellent post, as always!

Here’s something that might not be well received here but I also believe NQ is a great supporter of “free speech”.  When I saw Larry’s article entitled ”Coakley, Arrogant Moron”, it made me feel like I did when the obots attacked

While I totally agree that Coakley has been a disappointment in her run for office, I don’t believe she deserves to be called an “arrogant moron” for any reason.

Despite how the women candidates were treated and the women, in particular, who supported them, during the primary and the GE in this last election, it seems that criticism of Coakley would be of a less personal nature, especially on this site.

Obviously, it’s still commonplace to use the most mean spirited adjectives against women we don’t like.

Sorry guys, but it’s still fresh in my mind how they treated Hillary and Sarah and with the latest misogynistic book “Game Change”, it’s clear that attacking women is still considered good political sport.

Having said that, I’m surprised that NQ has not posted Amy Susskind’s article asking people to ban the book based on its over the top misogynistic attacks on Hillary, Sarah and Elizabeth, which gets most of the media play.

If we don’t stand up every time we see women being critized in a personal way in showing our disdain for their political stance, then when?

    Verry funny.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Really?  Wow.  Well, I guess that’s probably right since Kennedy and Kerry have had a lock on the US Senate.

Niki Tsongas is there now – she became a rep. in 2007, and is a Dem.  They have only sent 4 total – ever.  2 Dems, 2 Reps.  The last, Heckler, before Tsongas, served from 1967-83, and was a Republican.

Whoever shot/edited the video must be a subconscious Obama non-supporter.  They should never let him speak to the camera that close-up because it only serves to focus on his unattractive attributes such as the odd way he moves his lips, or close them oddly after a sentence; it fixes people’s gaze on his face instead of listening to his words; and allows people to look in his eyes and see absolutely nothing–no feelings, no soul?

Not a good video ad at all.  I hope he makes all his other video ads this way.

To me, the most important principle is to preserve the constitutional idea of checks and balances.  It has to trump everything else because now we can see how giving one party control over the Presidency, the House and the Senate, can be very detrimental to the people when their elected officials decide not to listen to the constituents about how they want to be governed.

  • stodghie

i don’t think there will be a dimocratic party as we now know it in 5 years. that is the amount of damage that obummer is doing.

i pray that brown wins and puts this nightmare bill to rest. and i want every dimocrat outsed from congress and the wh.
