obama: you’d better check under the hood!

Is President Obama insinuating that Scott Brown is a klansman?

“You better look under the hood?”*

It sure sounds like coded language for calling Scott Brown a member of the klan…

For him to go after Brown using “under the hood” and stating , “I don’t know him” as he did last night, it’s an insult. And I tell you, as an American, constantly accused of racism for not supporting Obama, I find his words and his tone to be very depressing.

“A cross-section of voters are alarmed at the tenor of some of these statements. It’s very unfortunate that the president would make a statement like that.”

Regrettably, they have resorted to distasteful and condescending language that appeals to our fears rather than our hopes. I sincerely hope that they’ll turn away from such reactionary, disparaging rhetoric.”

Perhaps this is why they are getting deperate, and using such coded, hostile language:

“Martha Coakley and Barack Obama held a rally today in Boston. They couldn’t fill the hall. . . . It holds 3,000 and frankly only 2,000 to 2,500 showed up.” H/T Instapundit

Meanwhile, on the other side of town:

It’s an absolute mob scene. The police have closed off the streets. It’s mind blowing. The hall is already full, and it holds 3,000 people. There may be another 1,000 people outside.” via the Corner.

You know they are in trouble when they blame Bush, predict a loss, and don’t even know their candidate’s name. Marcia, Marcia, MARCIA!

    I can’t stop laughing….  this is hillarious…

Is someone cracking under pressure.  Has the Sleeping Giant awaken and retaken back the Constitution from this Usurper and his tyrannical government?….

    By God I hope so….

  • HARP

People should have looked under the hood more than a year ago.

  • Always Learning

There’s snow and rain in the forecast throughout Massachusetts tomorrow. Who will be most impacted, Coakley or Brown, if the weather affects voter turnout?

  • HARP

Libs will stay home. Rain would make one of their two faces run. =-X

  • Mark

Obama and the radicals have a 3 step approach:

    1. Change (Nobody knew what the hell that meant but now they do and they don’t like it).

    2. Racism (The only racists turned out to be Obama and the radicals).

    3. Bush (This is threadbare, why not blame George Washington and just go down the line through history, at least Obama can blame his own ineptitude on every president we have ever had except himself).

  • HARP

    Palin was right

  • Mary cusack

Well that depends on where in Massachusetts you are living.  Here on the radio (Easthampton) They are saying we will have flurries and its going to be partyly sunny

  • oowawa

It sure sounds like coded language for calling Scott Brown a member of the klan…

Are the O symbol manipulators sufficiently devious and clever enough to engineer this kind of insinuation?  You bet!

  • Peggy Sue

I listened to the President’s speech and didn’t take the “look under the hood” as anything more than extending the snarky comments on how “anyone” could own a truck.  It’s to undercut the working man appeal that Scott Brown has mustered [who are still smarting from the Bible and guns crack from last year's primary].  Obama also said: it’s not about the truck, it’s the direction Brown is headed [implying a GW&Co retread].

But stretching interpretations are exactly what the Obamatrons did to Hillary Clinton.  The infamous reference to Bobby Kennedy and how “that” indicated that Hillary thought Obama should be shot or could be shot.  Or something. Or all the endless charges of racism against the Clintons and/or their supporters.  And the names.  We shouldn’t forget the names: witch, hag, sluts, c**t, deadenders, the bitter PUMA crowd, etc., etc., etc.

So yes, the headline made me laugh.  What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, as they say.

    And Karma is a bitch!

  • Peggy Sue

PS: Loved the hooded icon, AGI.  Perfect!

  • Tex-Mex Soup

oh what sweet poetic justice if Brown does indeed actually win.  obama will have the I smell shit look on his face 24/7 everyday.

Hmmm I wonder if Coakley will somehow be accused of being a racist and this is why she lost (if she loses.)  Oh and lets not forget ole Teddy Kennedy rolling over in his grave.

    priceless

  • oowawa

In the final hours before the election, a look under the candidates’ hoods:

  • SeriouslySickOfObama

Oh no…manchildnchief flipped the script and he went to his Negro Dialect talking about checking under the hood, LOL!!  He better check himself bc he already wrecked himself, ROFL! 8-)

  • creeper

Like we didn’t know this was coming?

Still, it’s depressing to see them try to play it.  The first “black” president cries “racism”.  Look in the mirror, Mr. Obama.

  • WestVirginia304

Was he talking about the new clothing line, Under the Hood, to be worn under your hoodie.  Was he suggesting Brown ain’t got no “hood” – you know like the ACORN hood.  Or is it Robin Hood.

  • sybilll

Also, was it just me that the constant harping on Brown’s truck was just code language for……he’s a redneck racist?

  • Peggy Sue

If today’s polling on the bellweather communities are valid, Scott Brown has a double digit lead.  Bad weather can usually knock off 2-3 pts.  But when you’re leading by 14 [according to Suffolk bellweather track] it doesn’t matter–he still wins handsomely.

  • oowawa

Yep–gunrack over the back window, bible in the glove compartment . . .

  • Jack

No.  It is an uncoded allusion to the pick up truck.  Elitists like Obama sneer at such trucks, although doesn’t he know sustainable arugula farmers own such too?

Elitists of the left version think they have some lock on non-economic elite representation.

    For those into numerology:
SCOTT BROWN–10 letters in his name – winner
MARTHA COAKLEY – 13 letters in her name – unlucky loser

  • Docelder

I like that idea of the New Democrats just blaming all prior presidents. This is basically what they are doing. They are blaming our entire system of government is more like it. Since assuming power, they have bastardized the government into becoming that which they have said it was all along… corrupt and unjust. This election is about “we the people”. Deep down, we haven’t forgot what it feels like to be free, and we never will.

  • sarainitaly

you know how it is, the polls are dropping, the dems, they get bitter, they cling to their Prius’s or Limos, or 30 Rock or antipathy to people who aren’t like them… they attack someone who drives a GM truck. They can’t handle those rednack racists!

  • Docelder

Yes, like everybody who drives a truck is a redneck. Except union tradesmen of course. These guys are flying by the seat of the pants of people who don’t even wear their own pants.

  • WestVirginia304

    O reaction to polls dropping.

  • Peggy Sue

I feel sorry for Martha Coakley because it’s been obvious for days that she’ll be quickly abandoned if she loses, a one, two shove under the bus, and then dragged off to the graveyard of “bad” candidates.

I find that part of all this rather sickening.  It’s one thing when the opposition beats you up.  But with this crowd of Dems, your own party is likely to run you over, and then leave you for dead.

  • margaret

Those of us who are voting in order to say F U to the Obama administration by voting for Brown will get to our polling places on snowshoes if necessary.  We’ve been pissed off for a couple years now and there is no keeping us from having our voices heard tomorrow.

  • Cindy

Olivia–thank you for that video. Unbelievable;yet, that’s why nobody messes with the Israelis.  They are never concerned about political correctness (i.e. their anti-terror screening procedures on  El Al).
They focus on what should be done and they do it. Period.

Ya know, he just is not an attractive man.  I really do not understand why everyone kept saying he was SO dreamy.  Blech.

It is ironic, isn’t it?  That Obama would make such a reference, when he won’t allow ANY looing under the hood when it comes to him?  No transcripts, no medical records, no IL state records or datebooks, even, no real record on which to stand, nothing.  He has the, um, AUDACITY, to talk abt anyone else??  Wowie zowie…

Great post, AGII – so nice to have you back!

  • sarainitaly

i know, i want to look under his hood!

    thanks amy! :-D

“OK.  I’ll tell the simple, bitter truck-drivin folks that I like them.  But my cool dudes in the DemoHood party will read between my knuckles and know what I really think of them thar hillbillies.”

  • Kathleen Wynne

    Peggy Sue,

The media is already shoving her under the bus by reporting that the voters aren’t voting against Coakley because of obama…nooooo, they are voting against Coakley because she ran such a bad campaign!

No surprise here.  It’s never obama’s fault.

  • creeper

Question from the reporter:  “Does the US have a field hospital here?”  Reply, “Not yet.”

This is what I’ve been trying to get across…we are NOT, regardless of all the pretty words, fundraising drives and great photo ops with Bill and Dubya, getting the aid to Haiti that they need.  We excused our lack of immediate response by citing damaged airports but never even attempted to drop supplies.   Now, from half a world away, Israel has a hospital up and running–complete with imaging equipment–while the US has nothing.

I guess we’re still “studying the problem”.

I’m sorry, AGiI…I’m sure Olivia didn’t intend to hijack your diary, nor did I in my response.  Admin, could we have an Open Thread, please?

  • HARP

Thank you for this. So much for Obama`s organizing skills. :’(

  • SHV

I wonder if Obama even reads the speech before he reads it off the TOTUS.  If Coakley goes down and the polls continue to drop, John Favreau will be under the bus.  Favreau, et al had a working formula during the primary, it isn’t working any longer and it looks as if he is a “one trick pony”.

  • JustSaying

Karma is a bitch Peggy Sue….Love it!..I also agree with your points…well taken…I was here with you during the Presidential and witnessed all the filth that Obama and company through at us…did we learn real fast what they were capable of…and now, a year later, who would have thunk that we are about to experience the best Karma available…Kennedy, who put the screws to our Hillary..his seat will be taken over by a Republican..IN THE STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS NO LESS!

  • HARP

I agree. This is a very important subject.

I picked up on that as well Sybill…..that is exactly what this elitist bastard was saying…us home folk drive trucks, we are not privy to taking out the “Peoples AirForce One” for a dinner and play in NY…
Snobby bastard that came from nothing!  he hasn’t a clue about hard working folks or how grateful we are just to own a car or truck…..well, I say, we save this tape and send it down south come November…let them hear what this guy is made of….that ought to open up some eyes!

  • tango

Well considering Brown owns a GM truck, hmm, maybe Obama shouldn’t be dissing trucks but praising them so maybe the taxpayers can make money from Government Motors!

  • oowawa

I guess we’re still “studying the problem”.

I’m sure we’re also “monitoring the situation closely.”

You were right, creeper.  I wanted to give the Administration the benefit of the doubt.  But once I saw a piece last night with the Israeli doctors up and ready with a functioning field hospital, I immediately thought: what’s up with that?  Where the heck are the US doctors and operating rooms and necessary medical supplies?  Not to mention the heavy equipment for rescue purposes.  And food.

I also saw a piece earlier this morning.  Many Haitians have put up signs: we need the US Marines.  Please send the Marines.  The UN Blue hats are considered absolutely useless.

So, I’m perplexed and saddened by what can only be seen as lack of coordination, which means even more deaths, more suffering.  General Honore has also had some very choice words about how this whole operation is being handled.  And when Honore speaks, most people listen!

But thumbs up to the Israeli surgeons and specialists.  I don’t understand how they managed to cut through the redtape.  I’m just glad they did.

I think LJ will have to retract his statement that Obama is looking good because he is working by “THE PLAN.” I said to him that this is a job for the President of the U.S. but the president is busy politicking and trying to find the edges where he can look good and presidential.

To tell you the truth, I blame Sec. of State Hillary Clinton for that situation with the hospital. Why? Because she went there Saturday and what did she accomplished? Just to make Garcia Pervez feel good.

People here were upset about my sexist remarks and I can understand that and I feel sorry about them, but I expect the Sec. of State Hillary Clinton to act in such decise way that everyone would need to get in line behind her. But no, Hillary Clinton allowed the UN to be heading this effort. Why? Because her husband is the Special Envoy. That is a problem. This is a job for our government, not for any special envoy or any branch of the UN.

Why are we, the U.S. the people who need to take charge of this tragedy and not the UN? Why? Simple. Because we have had over 45 thousand people in Haiti for the past several years, most of them missionaries, doing frontier work and we are the ones who need to see our government take charge.

Anyway we are the ones that are going to accept no less than 1 million Haitians into the U.S. in the aftermath of this tragedy, no?

So this is ours to fix and the Sec. of State needs to get with it.

WHY WHY WHY does this country elect inferior people?

I’ll never be mistaken for an Obot, but that “Hood” reference did not sound like a KKK reference. It’s really just a common phrase about what you do before buying a car, and good advice for buying anything else.

It looks like there is finally some “under the hood” checking going on with respect to Obama. A year ago that engine sounded so smooth, but now it’s making a lot of cranky noises.

Too bad Obama did not come with a warranty. He’s way past his expiration date.

Oh, how I wanted to be wrong.  More than anything I wanted to believe we’d learned something…anything…from New Orleans, because if we didn’t, thousands of people would die.  But I just couldn’t see anything we were doing, only hear promises of help that wasn’t there.

Interesting how Obama gets that “under the hood” comment out… plain and clear. Then he goes on to flub up the part about taxes or tax cuts or whatever was he talking about??

Yep. The implication was clear. The “hood” was much more important than the taxes…

How ghastly for the President to behave in this way.

You’re right, Kathleen.  Even Chris Matthews, while bemoaning the grim bellwether stats, qualified his statement with how a loss would “not” be a reflection of the President or his policies.

C’mon…I live in Massachusetts and the “under the hood” comment was not in the least bit racially tinged. Scott Brown has been using his pick-up truck line in every speech for weeks. This was clearly a reference to that. No one is accusing him of being a racist. He’s not and no one claims he is. At least not here the voters actually live. There’s a ton of metaphors going around about Scott Brown’s truck – “The wheels are coming off”, he’s running out of gas”, “your mileage may vary” and, yes, “look under the hood”. People are getiing absolutely paranoid with this racist stuff.

Amen — although two years ago would have been better.  I don’t think Obama is makign KKK references but he is just grasping at straws, grabbing at tired metaphors while insulting a man with a populist message for actually getting off his behind and getting out and meeting the voters.  Gee — how horrible.  Whether you like Scott Brown or not, why wouldn’t he have the right to get out there and make his pitch to MA voters.

Further, Brown is very skillfully capitalizing on a populist message and as someone else pointed out, making it clear that Obama is “the man” — the insider and and then associated martha Coakley with him.  Smart.

But Obama, off ‘PrompTer can only be snarky and insulting.

    Do you mean this:

FAIRFIELD — Nearly a week after the Haiti earthquake, Northern California rescue teams that had been waiting to deploy to the Caribbean nation say they will probably not be needed.
Federal officials this morning told an 80-member search and rescue team based out of the Sacramento Fire Department they could stand down and go back to their normal lives, although they would remain on two-hour deployment notice for the rest of the week.
“None of us are going far from home,” said Battalion Chief Niko King of the Sacramento Fire Department.
Also told to stand down was an Oakland-based team made up of firefighters from throughout Alameda County. The Oakland team said it had been next on the list after Sacramento to deploy to Haiti.
“They anticipate the rescues to slow down, probably from six, seven, eight rescues a day to just one or two a day,” King said.

I think Obama won’t run again. Given the uproar over his policies by the US voters, he may just claim to have accomplished what he set out to do and retire from politics. He won’t risk having his ass handed to him by the voting public. He had that happen in Illinois when he challenged Bobby Rush for his seat in the House. It took him a few years to figure out how to get everyone else off the ballot so he could win the Senate seat. He won’t be able to do that, or pass off his program as bringing “hope and change”, and that’s all he has to offer. Like the song says, “We won’t get fooled again.” And by “we”, I mean the general public. I did not vote for Obama at any time in the last election cycle. I voted for Hillary in the primary, and Cynthia McKinney in the general.
