Given the uproar over his policies by the US voters, he may just claim to have accomplished what he set out to do and retire from politics. He won't risk having his ass handed to him by the voting public. He had that happen in Illinois when he challenged Bobby Rush for his seat in the House. It took him a few years to figure out how to get everyone else off the ballot so he could win the Senate seat. He won't be able to do that, or pass off his program as bringing "hope and change", and that's all he has to offer. Like the song says, "We won't get fooled again." And by "we", I mean the general public. I did not vote for Obama at any time in the last election cycle. I voted for Hillary in the primary, and Cynthia McKinney in the general.
