Will Obama’s Secret Deal with Edwards Be Revealed?

On a personal level I have the greatest empathy for Elizabeth Edwards. John? Well, the revelation of the affair has not exactly boosted his political prospects. The real salience of this matter is whether or not the Obama campaign knew about it or used the information to secure Edward’s endorsement.

Let’s look back to the day after the West Virginia primary. Hillary had drubbed Obama, garnering 67 percent of the vote. So what did Obama promise John Edward to get his endorsement on that day? Attorney General? You can bet the house that Obama promised Edwards a cabinet post for his well timed endorsement. Whatever promises were made, Edwards is toast.

I don’t care whether John Edwards is the father of an illegitimate child. That’s a private matter and something he must sort out with his wife and his paramour. But as far as dealing with Obama, that’s something we have a right to know. Will Edwards now come clean and tell us what Obama promised him. That’s dirtier than a sordid little affair in my book.

Chris Dodd and Colman getting sweet deals from Countrywide. There was a primary in Mo. today for rep. His name is Cohen and his district was predominately AA. An African American was running against him and accused him of being in the KKK. Cohen won by 80% so maybe the light is beginning to shine on Obama. I think Larry may be on to something about a deal between Edwards and Obama because I really think he had no intention of endorsing anyone and wanted to stay out of the limelight for a while. Then Edwards makes his confession on Friday evening when the Olympics have started and Hillary’s out campaigning except the audience looked like Obama supporters instead of Hillary’s. Keystone Cops redux. Oh, I heard there will be an interfaith meeting at the convention. WTH is going on with the DNC?

This article deals with what it means, exactly, to be a community organizer ( Sen Obama stated he was one for a couple of years ) and how effective these people can be if given a chance to lead.

I know very little about Sen Obama’s past because, with 90 days to go till election, he still has not released the following fairly routine documents for public inspection .

Assume for a moment that the author of the article I link to in this post is correct in saying that

Then, if the author is correct, I have a question as this relates to Sen Obama- Since we know so VERY LITTLE about him and he has a paper thin list of accomplishments that can be directly, 100% linked to his direct efforts… then I ask …who is Sen Obama’s base? His real base?
And…what is Sen Obama trying to get for this base?

What is Sen Obama passionate about in the arena of social and economic justice and fairness ? What in his past can be used as an indicator of this [passion?

And my last question concerns politicians and delegates who formerly supported Sen Clinton but switched at the last moment to Sen Obama- how did Sen Obama get these politicians
(including Edwards and Richardson)
in his pocket?
What did he learn about them? What is in their self interest that they want so badly that they were able to toss aside their loyalty to Sen Clinton & her work for our country-and…support Sen Obama? What did he offer them in exchange for their vote-what did Sen Obama offer these former Clinton supporters-supporters who shared similiar values, public mission statements and work ethics as HRC… that Sen Clinton could not have offered them too?

I ask you…who is Sen Obama’s REAL BASE? WHo has he stayed with the longest time-and who or what is close to his heart and soul , and to his family’s (his wife and two daughters) heart and soul ?

I empathize. Edwards endorsement the day after WVA was the filthiest possible thing he could have done.

I have never had much of an opinion of him anyway, but in that one moment, Edwards permanently dissolved any credibility he could have had.

Now his political career is done. Deservedly so.

At this moment, I bet Elizabeth is regretting that she didn’t come out months ago and beat him to the punch and say that she was endorsing Hillary. She may not be fond of Hill, but Elizabeth did vote for her and knew damned well that she would make the best leader — and that her health care plan is the best.

But Hillary’s name has to be placed in nomination for those delegates to get to vote. This new revelation is one more reason to write the superdelegates and pledged delegates. If Obama blackmailed Edwards into endorsing him and giving him his delegates, that’s certainly worth a note raising the question with the delegates.

Since this affair was being rumored about since 2006 I think Obama’s people knew and probably threatened John to get out when he did. Remember that debate with O, Hill and John and that white joke came up? It was funny at the time but it could have been a purposeful slight by O to John.

The Os campaign was full of thuggery and bullies at the very beginning and I still see nothing positive about O so I wouldn’t put anything past him.

Like making unsubstantiated and nasty rumors about Hillary? Fool. All it necessary is to look at early pictures of the Clintons and it’s clear how much she loved him and probably still does. She said when she met him he was a force of nature. Most women do not stop loving an unfaithful husband especially after so many years. There is a level of friendship and understanding that transcends physical infedelity. That doesn’t mean it can’t cause pain, but that doesn’t replace everything else. I have know many women whose husbands have strayed. Some couldn’t forgive and the marriage ended in divorce, but you would be supprised at how many marriages survive. One thing for sure, every one has to make the decision based on their own feeling of what’s right for them. If they have mutual interests and goals. I have seen long marriages where husband and wife seem to have a bonding nothing will break. They seem to communicate ideas through telepathy almost and finish each others sentences. It came out several months ago, but I don’t remember exactly when. If you follow Larry’s story at all you will see the GREAT LENGTHS the OBs have gone to to shut Larry up. One thing I learned from experience is that marriage requires a lot of work, and how you embark on it will determine how much work is needed. Hillary was always ambitious and a good enough politician in her own right to one day be POTUS. I honestly think that’s why she turned Bill down the first time he proposed. Same with me. I turned my husband down, because I wasn’t sure if he loved me or wanted a green card. We’ve been together 10 years and were separated for two. But Bill seems like the kind of man who thinks he’s God’s gift to women and just wants things sometimes for his ego. I thought the same of my husband. Why waste my youth with a guy who just wanted me to have me till he was sick of me? Our relationship deepened and changed and strengthened over the years. We respect one another a lot. I see that same dynamic in Bill and Hillary. The same with my in-laws who have been married for forty years. Nobody is perfect, and love certainly isn’t, and the Clintons certainly aren’t. I admire them for staying together, though.

I disagree, Ewards was probably actually helping Hillary. Women voted for Hillary, independents and men were split between Obama and Edwards. Elizabeth was Edwards’ best asset and he tossed her aside while she was fighting a terminal disease. He even seemed distant from her when they announced she was ill again. There was a huge space between them and he pulled Elizabeth in and hugged her like a football buddy. I hope she has a good support system around her besides her husband.

It appears that the Obama trip to Hawaii and Edwards’ admission of the affair were timed to occur on the same day. This way Obama can sneak off for a week without having to comment publicly on Edwards. I hope some investigative reporters are digging on this, because it would be interesting to see if some kind of arrangement was made to lessen as much as possible the fallout on Obama. I believe it probably was arranged.

One thing stands out to me about Obama, and its his cynicism. “The man” will just try to get you down. “Folks” are lazy, mean and ignorant. So, take what you can get. Some of these politicians take a while to corrupt, but Obama didn’t. Edwards was handed to Axelrod. He approached Hillary, too, but she went with Penn. He knows where all the bodies are buried. Rev. Wright, Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers are all well-known in Democratic circles. Obama just has no sense to cut loose. Maybe his handlers are as arrogant as he is. But the way the minority party’s identity politics blew up in its face this year was a real turn-off. I have been wonderring this same thing. Especially since Edwards spent the entire weekend before he endorsed going on all the news shows saying he was staying out of it and letting the people decide. Then like 2 days later right after the people in WV pickked Hillary in a landslide. Edwards endorses Obama. AND Where was Elizabeth that night? home. They made a point of saying Elizabeth was not part of the package.

I find it curious(sorry if this thought has already been posted) that BO is vacationing in Hawaii for the next week. The DNC has been pressuring Edward’s to come clean on the affair scandal, so I am sure BO knew that Edwards would be “spilling the beans” today. I also have not been engaged in any activity of any description that requested, agreed to or supported payments of any kind to the woman or to the apparent father of the baby.

It is inadequate to say to the people who believed in me that I am sorry, as it is inadequate to say to the people who love me that I am sorry. In the course of several campaigns, I started to believe that I was special and became increasingly egocentric and narcissistic. If you want to beat me up — feel free. You cannot beat me up more than I have already beaten up myself. I have been stripped bare and will now work with everything I have to help my family and others who need my help.

I have given a complete interview on this matter and having done so, will have nothing more to say.

I don’t believe 0bama blackmailed Edwards into endorsing him. I do believe Edwards was promised money for his charity and put on a list for a Cabinet post. Attorney General figures prominently. But I believe something more sinister.

I believe it was the 0bama campaign who dropped a dime on Edwards recent rendezvous. Why? Because 0bama wants no part of the old players in the Dem Party. He had no intention of offering Edwards a Cabinet position, nor does he want him and Elizabeth speaking at the Convention. Sorry, Mimi — I’m not guying this “predatory women” shtick. This promotes the idea that men are little boys who see candy and have to have it — possessing of no self control or ethics whatsoever. This is also promoting the notion that somehow it is the “woman’s fault.”

I don’t give a damn what a woman flashes in your face. A man’s ‘member’ doesn’t accidentally wind up somewhere it doesn’t belong and he can’t be talked into it if he doesn’t want to go.
