“He’s Done Everything Wrong” – Hell Hath No Fury…

Like a voter scorned. Many of us are reaping the sweet rewards of, “I Told You So” with many of our Obot friends, family, and acquaintances. We did, we tried, we hoped, we cried, and nothing would sway them from the One True Messiah of Obama. Well, those days seem to be slipping away, don’t they? And one such supporter of Obama’s, who thought he was the cat’s meow, the one who would change politics as usual (I still do not, for the life of me, understand WHY people thought he would), has had it.

That would be Mort Zuckerman. If you are not familiar with the name, you surely are with the U.S. News and World Report, of which he is Editor-in-Chief, or the New York Daily News, which he owns (along with other properties). He is a gazillionaire (okay, just a billionaire), and he supported Obama in the 2008 Election. Now, he is just a tad put out as his Op-Ed, “He’s Done Everything Wrong,” indicates (h/t to Andy):

Obama punted on the economy and reversed the fortunes of the Democrats in 365 days.

He’s misjudged the character of the country in his whole approach. There’s the saying, “It’s the economy, stupid.” He didn’t get it. He was determined somehow or other to adopt a whole new agenda. He didn’t address the main issue.

This health-care plan is going to be a fiscal disaster for the country. Most of the country wanted to deal with costs, not expansion of coverage. This is going to raise costs dramatically.

In the campaign, he said he would change politics as usual. He did change them. It’s now worse than it was. I’ve now seen the kind of buying off of politicians that I’ve never seen before. It’s politically corrupt and it’s starting at the top. It’s revolting.

Holy moley! Bear in mind, this man, Mr. Zuckerman, was a SUPPORTER. I sure can’t disagree with his assessment, though. He continues:

Five states got deals on health care—one of them was Harry Reid’s. It is disgusting, just disgusting. I’ve never seen anything like it. The unions just got them to drop the tax on Cadillac plans in the health-care bill. It was pure union politics. They just went along with it. It’s a bizarre form of political corruption. It’s bribery. I suppose they could say, that’s the system. He was supposed to change it or try to change it.

Even that is not the worst part. He could have said, “I know. I promised these things, but let me try to do them one at a time.” You want to deal with health care? Fine. Issue No. 1 with health care was the cost. You know I think it was 37 percent or 33 who were worried about coverage. Fine, I wrote an editorial to this effect. Focus on cost-containment first. But he’s trying to boil the ocean, trying to do too much. This is not leadership.

Obama’s ability to connect with voters is what launched him. But what has surprised me is how he has failed to connect with the voters since he’s been in office. He’s had so much overexposure. You have to be selective. He was doing five Sunday shows. How many press conferences? And now people stop listening to him. The fact is he had 49.5 million listeners to first speech on the economy. On Medicare, he had 24 million. He’s lost his audience. He has not rallied public opinion. He has plunged in the polls more than any other political figure since we’ve been using polls. He’s done everything wrong. Well, not everything, but the major things.

I don’t consider it a triumph. I consider it a disaster.

You and me both, Mr. Zuckerman. But if I may be so bold, perhaps lofty words are not a prerequisite for the highest office in the land. Just saying. Perhaps you should have looked a little deeper into how much Obama enjoyed the adoring masses, buying the PR spin that he was The One. The problem is, he started to believe it. He believed/believes it really is all about him. But, as a truly great president said, “I feel your pain.”

And speaking of Clinton:

One business leader said to me, “In the Clinton administration, the policy people were at the center, and the political people were on the sideline. In the Obama administration, the political people are at the center, and the policy people are on the sidelines.”

Again, YES. I hate to keep harping on this, but why were you not capable of seeing this BEFORE?? When Obama regurgitated Deval Patrick’s speeches, that should have been a clue that it was absolutely NOT about policy, but all about politics. When he continually took Hillary Clinton’s policy positions for his own, instead of crafting them himself, that should have been a bit of a clue. But no. Zuckerman, and to many like him, failed to see what was right before their eyes. They believed the hype, too:

I’m very disappointed. We endorsed him. I voted for him. I supported him publicly and privately.

I hope there are changes. I think he’s already laid in huge problems for the country. The fiscal program was a disaster. You have to get the money as quickly as possible into the economy. They didn’t do that. By end of the first year, only one-third of the money was spent. Why is that?

He should have jammed a stimulus plan into Congress and said, “This is it. No changes. Don’t give me that bullshit. We have a national emergency.” Instead they turned it over to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi who can run circles around him.

It’s very sad. It’s really sad.

He’s improved America’s image in the world. He absolutely did. But you have to translate that into something. Let me tell you what a major leader said to me recently. “We are convinced,” he said, “that he is not strong enough to confront his enemy. We are concerned,” he said “that he is not strong to support his friends.”

The political leadership of the world is very, very dismayed. He better turn it around. The Democrats are going to get killed in this election. Jesus, looks what’s happening in Massachusetts.

Well, for a moment, perhaps, but even in other countries, people are waking up (check out The Telegraph, or Der Spiegel sometime). But here’s the thing: by caring more about appearances than policy, being liked more than fixing problems, Obama, and all who voted for him, have done this country a tremendous disservice. We told you it wasn’t American Idol for which he was running, but the presidency.

There is still some delusion, though:

It’s really interesting because he had brilliant, brilliant political instincts during the campaign. I don’t know what has happened to them. His appointments present somebody who has a lot to learn about how government works. He better get some very talented businesspeople who know how to implement things. It’s unbelievable. Everybody says so. You can’t believe how dismayed people are. That’s why he’s plunging in the polls.

I can’t predict things two years from now, but if he continues on the downward spiral he is on, he won’t be reelected. In the meantime, the Democrats have recreated the Republican Party. And when I say Democrats, I mean the Obama administration. In the generic vote, the Democrats were ahead something like 52 to 30. They are now behind the Republicans 48 to 44 in the last poll. Nobody has ever seen anything that dramatic.

Did you mention by how much Obama has run up the National Debt? You know, the one he has increased by $1.7 TRILLION since he took office? And he’s looking to increase it by even more. Oh, yippee.

If I may return to another part of Mr. Zuckerman’s editorial, no offense, sir, but OBAMA didn’t have “brilliant, brilliant political instincts during the campaign,” his HANDLERS, Axelrod and Plouffe. did. Had you taken just a few minutes and used the considerable resources at your disposal, you could have looked into his REAL record in IL. You would have seen the shenanigans he employed to even get elected. Now, maybe YOU think that is “brilliant,” but I see it as being an indicator of the man’s moral fiber, and his “win at all costs,” mentality, no matter who he steps on, or what kind of damage he does. Perhaps what Zuckerman is seeing now, is the failure of Axelrod and Plouffe to pull the man off the Campaign Trail and him getting to work. Obama still hasn’t stopped, as he heads off to Ohio on Friday.

Still, at least he is finally getting is. In this interview with Neil Cavuto (h/t to Logistics Monster), he can barely contain himself:

Mr. Zuckerman made some mighty interesting assertions in there, didn’t he, especially in terms of housing? Welcome to the reality based community, sir.

Indeed, slowly but surely, the Kool Aide is wearing off, but not until Obama has done untold damage to out country – IN ONE YEAR. Will he be able to turn it around? I don’t know, but that would presuppose he was capable of introspection, and a willingness to actually listen to the people, as opposed to talk, talk, talking to us (though apparently, he hasn’t talked at us enough – we just don’t get it, you know – because apparently, we are all a bunch of mo-rons not to buy his healthcare bill). Just a thought.

In the meantime, maybe we have all learned a lesson after this presidential election, and after the Massachusetts election. People can be hoodwinked, but not forever. When they wake up, they are none too happy at the lies they were told. That’s why we have elections, and this year is shaping up to be mighty interesting indeed…

“Obama’s ability to connect with voters is what launched him” “Brilliant poltical instincts”?   Really?? LMAO ….There was no “connection” or brilliant instincts,  it was all about R-A-C-E, bullying people about his mixed heritage and his ”historic presidential run” . Preying on people’s stupidity (deserved by many) but not deserved by this country.

I never ever felt a connection to this dude, even when I was a DEM.  I felt nothing, I saw his emptiness, his shallowness, his disdain for people, his racist dogwhistle.  He is simply an a$$hole and so are all the people he surrounds himself with.

And cry me a river Mr. *uckerman (insert appropriate letter) your (faux) outrage all though slightly appreciated is a little too late.  And will it sustain for the rest of your president’s term or are you trying to sell something?

For an  intelligent successful person who seems to have common sense, fall for this scheister’s OBVIOUS tricks is pathetic beyond reproach.

  • ChooChooMagoo

Wow Mort is Mad!  Really Mad!!!  And he lays the blame fully and squarely on Obama. About time Obama supporters did so.  Too many have been whining and complaining and at the same time making excuses for their guy.  But in America the buck stops with the president.  That is why we have one.

    Great post RRRA!!!

  • kenoshamarge

Isn’t it strange how so many of us poor little mo-rons saw through Obama and smart people like Mort Zuckerman did not? And I intend no snark, Mr. Zuckerman is quite obviously a very smart man. But Mr. Zuckerman looked at Obama and saw what “he” wanted to see and did not see reality.

He thought he could get a two-fer, a Democrat back in the White House and a “historic” first of having the nation’s first African-American President. (Evidently in Mr. Zuckerman’s world having the first Female American President wasn’t that big a thing even though 51% of the population is female.)

Sorry Mr. Zuckerman, but you are smart enough to know that when you bury your head in the sand, you ofttimes get kicked in the …

  • Diana L. C.

    RRRA,

Mot Zuckerman is, indeed, angry.  Thanks for the post and the video.  I am so very hapy tat people are waking up.  But at the same time, I am more angry, perhaps, than Mort is.

I am angry that just because I don’t have Mort’s money and publishing interests, my opinion did not matter to my friends and family during the primary and general election.  Of all my friends and family, I have always been the most politically active.  BUT when I made the stunning decision to break from a party I had supported since ’72 and vote Republican for the first time in a GE, not one of them listened.

I am angry because I believe my friends and family did not listen because I am a “typical” white woman, who was supporting a white woman (who happened only to be the BEST CANDIDATE).  They, I think, thought I was going into dementia or something–never mind that I am the one they call on when they need little things done for them that no one else will find time to do them.  Never mind that I always got great grades throughout my school career, had glowing recommendations always from my jobs.

I am angry because I, like you and many other Hillay supporters, DID our homework, knew what a joke O was as a candidate, did NOT choose to vote for the narcissist when he claimed that His supporters would not vote for Hillary but hers would vote for him-WHAT AN ENORMOUS JERK.

I am angry that our country is now in the mess it is in, thanks to people like Mort Zuckerman who bankrolled this scam that has gone a long way to ruin our economy.

I wish people would interview YOU on t.v. instead so all the people who voted for this clown could get the smackdowns they all deserve!  Then they couldn’t just sit at home and excuse themselves by saying things like, “Well, if Mort Zuckerman was fooled, I guess it’s not so bad that I was.”

  • JustMe

I cannot understand how these people hold down jobs if they cannot see whats right infront of their noses….

Wondering if a perpspective employee had come to an interview in his HUGE coperation and stated “I Am the One you’ve Been Waiting For” I offer “Hope and Change” guess they would of been on the books asap and paid a 6 figure salary?

Just mind blowing really…. average Joe knows nothing in their eyes, when are these people going to get some common sense and stop playing American Idol?

  • Diana L. C.

Sorry for the typos at the beginning.  Mad fingers are not good typists.

  • JustMe

Makes one wonder how these people hold down jobs if they cannot see what’s right in front of their noses….

I’m very disappointed. We endorsed him. I voted for him. I supported him publicly and privately.

Yes, Mr. Zuckerman, along with 69,000,000 other blissed-out followers, you took the leap of faith.

But you jumped from the frying pan of the Bush years into the fire.  Really hot, isn’t it!?!?

–Thanks very much for this article, Rev. Amy.  Ahhhhh–Schadenfreude!–

  • HARP

I have seen the Democrats shoot themselves in the foot before, but this is the fastest I`ve seen them reload.

  • AC

“…the shenanigans he employed to even get elected. Now, maybe YOU think that is “brilliant,” but I see it as being an indicator of the man’s moral fiber, and his “win at all costs,” mentality, no matter who he steps on, or what kind of damage he does.”

    Excellent, Excellent RRRA!

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Um, Tex-Mex, tell us how you really feel!  ;) LOVE your comment, especially inserting the appropirate letter…

    Well said!

  • AC

OK oowawa, enough self flagellation, you’ve admitted your reasonable error and are forgiven.  You’re not responsible, forgive yourself and do everything to KICK HIS ASS henceforth.

You know I’m just kidding–kind of.

  • oowawa

Ah, AC–I am guilty of many transgressions, but voting for Thee One was never one of them.  My heart is pure.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Diana, I know JUST what you mean.  I truly do, point by point.  Yes, we knew what a joke this guy was, we knew he would be bad for the country, we knew that leg tingling was not what we needed in a president, we knew that Hillary was by far the best candidate, and we were treated like crap for it, called racists, had misogynistic epithets thrown around, and were treated like crap by friends and family alike.

Now, they are finally starting to open their eyes.

    And we told them so.

  • FrenchNail

RRRA. I will not turn things around, because it would presuppose that the economic mess we have is not to his liking.

Oh yes, he listens to us. He and his handlers just do not give a dam. They want America to go down a notch, they want hordes of people in crisis.

I am a firm believer that this White House is perfectly aware of what we think, they are just concerned with what to do to change our thinking, not what to do to change their behavior to adjust to our thinking.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Exactly, JustMe.  During the campaign, I would listen to my Obot professor brother and professor sister-in-law singing Obama’s praises (“He’s a Constitutional SCHOLAR!”  Uh, no, lecturer – big diff.), and thinking, “If someone tried to get a teaching position at your university but would not provide ANY transcripts, or papers, or documentation of any kind whatsoever, they would not even be looked at for one skinny second, but yet, you are willing to make this guy, who didn’t even craft any real legislation as a state or US senator, PRESIDENT!”

    Mind boggling.  Truly mind boggling.

  • No Longer Banned in Beantown

The man was totally clueless during the campaign. His best responses were “Me Too” to everything Hillary said.

So what did you expect Zuckerman? Did you think Obama was going to get a brain from the Wizard when he was sworn in?

It’s no wonder an incompetent like Obama can claim the White House when incompetents like Zuckerman are in positions of influence.

I am sure you heard this taunt as a kid, but it really applies here: Zuckerman? No, it’s Morty Sucker Man.

  • Tex-Mex Soup

Mr. *uckerman and his cronies need to stop embarraasing themselves.  They need to eat what they caught :-D

  • Guest

Odd that a billionaire has no sense about a person’s character or record or associates. He must have been hypnotized. Well, at least he has come to his senses, one can hope… or will he fall for it again? Funny how 0bama’s supporters are shocked, SHOCKED at how things have gone, when he telegraphed his plans abundantly.

BTW, Cavuto didn’t ask the one important question: “What are you going to do about it, Mort?”

  • propertius

I don’t know about you, but I’m not reaping any “sweet rewards” from having this disastrous amateur in the White House. Everytime I feel the slightest bit of Schadenfreude, I can’t help but think of the unemployed who can’t find work, the folks who have lost their savings, the men and women we’ve put in harm’s way in distant parts of the world, the sick who cannot afford overpriced medications, and all the others who have to bear the brunt of corruption and bad decision-making. Somehow, there’s no joy in that for me. Twelve years of incompetents in the White House is nothing to crow about.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

LOL – precisely.  It is hard to believe this man is SO successful, yet didn’t see through Obama.

Wait, Warren Buffet didn’t either, did he?

Buyer’s remorse is definitely setting in, but WTH are we supposed to do for the remaining 3 yrs of his term??

  • AC

    oowawa,
    My bad.
Gee, I need to bone up on my reading comprehension skills–kick my own ass.

  • No Longer Banned in Beantown

Zuckerman: “He’s improved America’s image in the world”

What? We went from being loathed to being laughed at, disrespected, and not taken seriously. You call that improvement?

Youare way too kind, but then you must justify your vote where you can.

  • No Longer Banned in Beantown

Good one Harp. They are busily reloading as we read this.

No wonder why most Dems favor gun control. They only shoot themselves.

  • stodghie

    harp now that is funny!

  • Buck O’Fama

The real blame belongs with the Democrat party.  Obumbler and Hillary essentially TIED for the nomination (and that’s a generous assessment given that she won most of the primaries and he won the easily-fixed caucuses.)  The party insiders KNEW this jackass was an empty suit and NOT ANY sort of god – this we now know for sure from the “Game Change” book.  Yet they decided to foist this jerk on us anyway.  WHY?  Because they sensed an easy win?  They were too gutless to say the emperor was naked?  They were sick of the Clintons?  Take your pick, maybe all of the above.  But they had the power to stop it and they didn’t.  Well, now they reap the fruits of what they sowed.  I hope he destroys their stupid party and takes down their careers and reputations for generations.  Burn baby, burn!

  • politicsisdirty

A lot of intelligent people were fooled. Sad. And the result, the country is in a disarray.

  • stodghie

exactly AC, and i would like to put offically to rest the current spin about how this is really good for dims. obama is not clinton and never will be. he is carter all over again. carter has shown he continued to be clueless in the recent past. what a shame! obama won’t really get it ever. it is literally not in his dna. heck he even married a clone in his wife. both have the same views. they despise us. now the ameridcan people are starting to get it. the current crop of dims are either of the same mindset or allowed themselves to be hussled. i believe pelosi despises us also. she is a partisan pol and nothing more. the others loved their donations and free ride more than their voters. so don’t expect a magic turn around like we got with clinton.

our best chance is to get the other side into a position where they can successfully refute the bs that passes for policy in obamaland.

  • Buck O’Fama

Sorry about the multiple posts, the script appeared to go into a loop.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

LOL – yes, but you are funny, so, that goes a long way!

And I can attest for oowawa – never a Kool Aide drinker (well, maybe as a child…).

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

LOL – now THAT is funny  And TRUE, apparently!

  • Peggy Sue

“Had you taken just a few minutes and used the considerable resources at your disposal, you could have looked into his REAL record in IL. Truer words were never spoken, Amy.  Remember Evan Thomas on Blogradio having the audacity to say that they[the press, media] had neither the time nor personnel to do the background check on Barack Obama?

Hello?  Evelyn Pringle took the time and no money to research the entire rotten web in Chicago, the Illinois Combine, composed of Dems and Republicans alike.  She published her series on the Net, but she sent the research everywhere, all the ties and dirty secrets backed up with documentation.

They had no will to look.  They had no interest in destroying the illusion.  Or they were on the take themselves.

So, forgive me if I have no pity, no true empathy for the likes of Mort Zuckerman or now even Paul Krugman, who recently said in the NYT that “he’s just about given up on Obama.”

They didn’t look.  Or if they looked they turned a blind eye, or perhaps, a crooked eye.  These are suppose to be the best and brightest among us.

If they didn’t see it, why did we?

  • No Longer Banned in Beantown

I can’t wait to hear Obama say “I am not the one that I thought I was.”

The Dems, Obama, and his admin are reminding me of the old Monty Python skit where the knights battle. The Knight that gets arms and legs lopped off by the sword insists he is not defeated.

“It’s only a flesh wound” Get back here and I’ll bite your kneecap.”

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

    I thank you, AC!

Good points, stodghie – I don’t see Obama learning from this, either, like Clinton did.  Because Clinton realy cared abt the people – he still does.  Obama?  Not so much…

  • AnnieCarmel

Great post!  And Tex-Mex-Soup you said it all!  Thanks, you expressed my feelings precisely.

I just finished reading “Going Rogue” and was reminded of all the filthy politics they employed against her…and earlier when Hillary was their practice punching bag.  I despise all they stand for and I can’t wait to cheer their downfall for good and to be consigned to the back pages of history.  He set back race relations 60 years.  The backlash will be immense.

Rather than expressing gratitude and the challenge of being the generation to reap the rewards of civil rights followed by affirmative action to provide the boost, these chip-on-the-shoulder Black Panther separatist loving thugs trashed all the good will gained of a generation.  They are nothing, nothing like MLK.  They sullied his work and his memory with their racist agenda.  I’m through too.  No one expects groveling for rights finally put in place but appreciation and success based on honest work would have gone a long way.  Instead we get whiners like The Dear Reader and his Shill.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Good point, Guest.  That would have been the right question to ask…

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

No, of course not, propertius – well said.  I don’t think any of us who supported Hillary for ne second are happy at where the country is now precisely for the reasons you mentioned.  I think it is sheer anger and frustration that we are where we are BECAUSE of Obama.  Had the DNC not rigged the nomination, I have little doubt that not only would Hillary have won, but she wuold have focused on what was most important right now: jobs, jobs, jobs…

Even Chris Matthews must have finally noted his pathetic ratings vs. Fox’s. At 5PM Wed. Beck had 3.7 million veiwers vs’s Hardballs half a million.  http://tvbythenumbers.com/2010/01/21/cable-news-ratings-for-wednesday-january-20-2010/39723  Maybe his owners have given him a bit of freedom (GE may have to go back to earning money the old fasion way) as he gave Howard Dean a good going over a few days ago. Last time I saw, to me, the old CM’s was when during the night of the Texas Primary he transietly entered a time machine and stated asking all the Obama supportes to name one thing he (Obama) has done and kept nailing them when they gave the usual answers (he’s bold, he’s for change, and on). As described in Media Malpractice  http://www.howobamagotelected.com/     that lasted till the next time out when perhaps he got a call from higher places.  I still have a tape of CM from the BO (Before Obama Era), of him just about nailing to  the floor a then to be Obama pusher, Michael Smerconish when he (MS) suggested that no one out side of DC was interested in the Lewis (Scooter) Libby trial. I give him credit, for 3 minutes he went  into a diatipe of how the whole war could not have occurred with out Libby and all the deaths, expensis s, turmoil in Iraq ect ect  ect not unlike Zuckerman above.

  • Hokma

As a statement of fact, like many baby boomers who grew up with civil rights, Obama represented the fairy tale final chapter of the civil rights movement to them and Obama played that card perfectly.

But as those other baby boomers who misguidingly voted for Obama found is that fairy tales are just that. And wasn’t it Bill Clinton who called Obama a fairy tale?

Even a billionaire can get caught up in the moment and not think rationally.

And yet one of the geniuses recently dumped on Sarah when she said that one of her qualifications for higher office was her common sense.  I believe that’s why many of us relate to her…and why we saw through him.  He never added up and we knew why.  The phonieness of everything about him.  Even now he’s campaigning…Flim Flam man still trying to bamboozle.  And his wife even more tone deaf with her exhorbitant personal spending while the rest of us struggle.

His speech is really off the wall; trying to pose as the common man telling them he can’t always get to the folks in the barber shop…nothing beats the chance to break out of DC where they can drive you crazy…that’s why he takes the opportunity to read letters from his people.  Now comes the blame game about inheritance.  Jesus H Christ. Followed by the faux claims of his great successes…stimulus, blah, blah, blah.  More utter BS.  Enumerating all the bad effects of the crisis…all Bush’s fault.

I am just appalled.  He’s desperately trying to do damage control.  TONE DEAF.  We don’t want your repeated excuses and explanations.  Repair your mistakes.  Bottom line Barry:  None of us is better off than we were last year.  End of story.  I’m hitting the mute button.

My dear kenoshamarge, you and I did not get the full press Obama Charm-o-Rama treatment. That was reserved for the VIP’s. I still think, way deep down, Mr. Zuckerman and others supported Obama because Zuckerman though “How cool am I that I have a black friend?”

Have you ever been in the position where you have a friend, a daughter, a colleague who is dating a loser? You just try to keep your mouth shut even after the loser boyfriend borrows money from her and never returns it, uses her car and gets into a car accident, stands her up when he was supposed to meet with a group of you for dinner, moves in with her and doesn’t pay rent, doesn’t get a job because he can’t find anything that is fullfilling enough, and never lives up to any  promises.

Then you find out the woman is going to marry the loser boyfriend. “Look, he even bought me an engagement ring!” (using her credit card probably.) At that point you might try everything you can to dissuade this woman from making a big mistake. Nothing you say will work. Even when she tells you that loser boyfriend still calls ex-girlfriends and has “a bit of temper when he doesn’t get his way.”

No, nothing you say makes a difference. “But you don’t know him like I do – he treats me differently than the way he treats other people.”

It was the same deal with the obots last year. Problem is, we all got married to Obama. And now we are stuck.

  • MrX

Funny how they all think this is NEW!  No, this is OLD!  We all knew Obama was an empty suit from the beginning.

While other than age and citizenship there is no requirement to be President of the United States we just cannot get caught up in superficial image marketing which is all Obama had in the future.

He was managed by an excellent political marketing team and he was the perfect actor on the political stage because he was too raw to develop any bad habits like bloviating – and he stayed on message.

But it was evident from the outset that Obama had no experience for someone his age at managing anything whether it be a government entity or a company. How on earth could anyone expect him to manage the most powerful office in the world?

Having spoken to many who misguidingly voted for Obama and have come to quickly regret it, I believe they voted for him for historic reasons only and were blindly caught up in the moment wanting to believe that he was as magical as he was making himself out to be.

One thing about brands. You may convince consumers to try a brand once, but if it does not meet expectation they won’t buy it again.

  • arabella trefoil

(“He’s a Constitutional SCHOLAR!”  Uh, no, lecturer – big diff.)

Obama doing pretend teaching for a photo op.

  • oowawa

Oh, this is funny, Arabella!  I love your analogy about the loser boyfriend who “doesn’t get a job because he can’t find anything that is fullfilling enough.”  Ah, the charming sociopath–we all know someone who has been victimized by one.  How about the loser boyfriend who “doesn’t get a job because he is too busy writing his novel/play/movie, or playing in a rock band?”  I am reminded of a self-mocking stanza from the great Jesse Winchester song, “Yankee Lady”:

She rose each morning and went to work
And she kept me with her pay
I was making love all night
And playing guitar all day . . .

And some lines from the Chuck Berry song, “Brown Eyed Handsome Man”:

Way back in history ten thousand years,
In fact ever since the world began–
There’s been a whole lotta good women sheddin’ tears
    For a brown-eyed handsome man . . .

And so we have the loser boyfriend President . . . love the analogy!

  • bayareavoter

Wow, Triple R Amy–what a post. And I echo all the great comments!

It does feel good to finally be absolved about our early rejection of this loser but as someone said above we can’t celebrate because things are such a mess.

And whose brilliant idea was it to give BO another road show today? These people are totally tone deaf. Maybe he should stay in the WH and WORK! Altough with yesterday’s announcement the market went into a nose dive so maybe we are better off when he goes out to read his beloved teleprompter.

What worries me after yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling is that we can’t allow the Repugs back in either. If there were ever a time for a REAL third party this would be it. We need a new Ross Perot or moderate Green Party or ???

  • AnnieCarmel

Ditto RRRA.  I wonder how long it will take to purge all the anger we have?   Seeing Harry and Nancy leaving DC for good might be a start.  Barney, Chris, Racist Clyburn, Maxine Waters and Boxer would feel better.  And the day the Barry and MeShill dog and pony show go back to wherever they came from with Rahm, Axelrod and Biden in tow, the light may begin to shine again.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

YES – they had no will to look, and vecause we bothered to look.  It wasn’t all that hard to find, either.  And you named one of the two people from Obama’s adopted home town who was TRYING to tell people abt him (the other being John Kass, who is still a voice cring in the wilderness).

Remember how they sent all of those investigative reporters to look into Sarah Palin, all the way in Alaska, but couldn’t send ANYONE to CHICAGO??  I mean, c’mon already.  Really?

And PAUL – Oh, I had liked him so much.  He was such a stalwart defender of Hillary, talked abt how much better her healthcare plan was than Obama’s.  But once Obma got in, Krugman doused himself with the Kool Aide to join the crowd.  I lost all respect for him then.

So yeah, I don’t really feel sorry for them – I feel sorry for the country and the mess they got us in, you know?

    Great comment!

  • Docelder

I have seen that one before… amway maybe? 8-) Tip: never go to a friend of a friends house that says they want to have you over to talk about business and they can’t tell you what kind it is before you go.

  • Judy in NC

Fascinating article, R3Amy.  Many thanks for bringing Zuckerman’s speech to my attention.  The only way I can live with my friends, relatives and neighbors and coworkers who I respect but who believed his bs and voted for him is to call it BDS or temporary insanity.

Something I read here just a few days ago keeps looping in my brain:   who would have thought there would be ANYONE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD who could make George W. Bush look good?

  • beachnan

It seems that most of the guys wanted to be with the “cool group”, just like in high school.  They didn’t want to be left out, so they just jumped right in and supported “ whatever”.  He was “whatever” they wanted him to be.   The black guilt thing didn’t hurt either.  Yes I’m pissed that it took so long, but the saying it’s better late than never does ring true for me, because I am sick of these guys making apologies for this grown man, and his inability to lead.

  • oowawa

I can’t wait to hear Obama say “I am not the one that I thought I was.”

LOL–I can’t wait to hear Obama’s faithful admit: “We are not the ones that we thought we were waiting for . . . “

  • oowawa

LOL–Wonder if Jon Favreau filled up that blackboard for him and handed him the chalk . . .

  • Jean

I agree Obama supporters are right to blame Obama…… and themselves too!!! This mess (aka the Obama administration) would have never happened without their unwavering support. They were ‘slobbering’ idiots! I’m glad to see at least some are waking up.

  • AC

    Hokma,
There is a crucial requirement “NATURAL BORN”
It’s right there in Article 2
Just because the political parties and some judges ignore it does not mean it is non-existent.

I’ll take your comment as an inadvertent slip, but I don’t get your reasoning of an “excellent marketing political machine”  where I come from we call that LYING SACKS OF SHIT.

  • AnnieCarmel

I agree with that.  It’s so maddening that the razzle dazzle crowd can’t see him.  Today in his Ohio meeting with the commoners, of which he is trying to convince them he is one…one of the staged participants yelled out “We love you”.  He, pretending humbleness, says “Thank you, thank you.” Biggest pity party I’ve wittnessed in years.

As one of his newly awakened sycophants, Marianne Williamson, recently commented, it’s as though we are supposed to constantly (paraphrasing here) think and say…poor Barack, poor thing.  Ya know, it’s just not the mark of a New Age thinker, behaving in such a way to evoke pity.

So we have the Victim Card being worked along with the Race Card as his constant theme…all as a cover-up for the Socialist agenda he and his thugs will continue to attempt to impose on us.  Don’t think Scott Brown has actually frightened them…they will put the blinders on and keep on going…until we stop them in their tracks.

  • arabella trefoil

At least he seems to be holding the chalk correctly. Not like the way he held the phone in this picture:

  • propertius

    Where’s the teleprompter?

  • Sandy

You know what they say. Book smarts, but know common sense. Zuckermans and Buffets common sense certainly abandoned them. Great post, and btw when do we get to hear Obama admit he is nothing more than a major screw-up? Just wondering.

  • Sandy

I don’t even have book smarts, it should be NO not KNOW.

  • oowawa

Oh the “phone” picture is priceless, arabella.  It deserves a caption contest!

Or, this one. What an athlete. Bush would have just walked around the hurdle.

Well, Zuckerman WAS stupid enough to turn his charity’s investment portfolio over to Bernie Maddoff. Zuckerman’s charity – like many other people – lost everything, totaling tens of million, I gather.

  • lauraks

    Amy-
First I so appreciate all your posts! Perhaps Mr. Zuckerman should have looked under the proverbial hood.

  • jbjd

PS, absolutely spot on.  MZ said to Cavuto, BO said he would end politics as usual but with the bribes paid to pass healthcare has continued politics as usual.  Since when does a newspaper man buy the claims of someone saying he would end politics as usual, without examing whether the man has operated cleanly in the past?  Since…never.  Someone earlier mentioned Evelyn Pringle.  Her well-documented reports on BO in Chicago did not escape the notice of anyone, least of all MZ and his cronies.  But all of the muck was available, Rezko, Killerspin, CAC, from several sources.  You could not miss it.  MZ did not miss it.  He and his cronies supported BO for reasons other than he would be the best person to lead the country. Now, Massachusetts voters chose a Republican for U.S Senate.  And now MZ,  with all his political acumen, appears to fess up, ‘BO is not who I thought he would be.’  Know what I hear?  ‘I can no longer get away with backing the man I knew from the beginning was the wrong horse.’

Just the unemployed and otherwise destitute who voted for Obama have no right to complain.

Amazing, just amazing!  I wonder what the hell election Mr. Zuckerman was watching???  I saw Obama on Larry King in the summer of 2007 and I willa dmit, I was impressed with him, but when the primaries were going I took a look see.  I didn’t like what I saw “under Obama’s hood”.  I saw Obama was a hood!  haha.  Even a friend of mine who is not very political and wasn’t sure if she believed me or Obama decided when he went to Germany turned away.  She was just astonished he’d go to Germany like he did and make this big production.  She wondered what on earth Germany had to do with America’s election???  She went full for McCain and never looked back.

All I can figure with people like Zuckerman is they thought:

Democrat-good, Republican-very, very bad!  And between Clinton and Obama, it must have been African American-good, women-very, very bad.  That is all I can figure.  Ot there is some parallel universe of which I am not a part of.  It is all so weird!!!

  • WestVirginia304

The time on the clock is 3:00am.

  • Obamastolemycountry

Donald Trump got it.  After Hillary, he backed McCain/Palin!

  • beachnan

I wonder who started the meme that Obama is brilliant?  Notice that Reid when he was trying to find someone to run against Hillary,  stated that Obama was a light skinned Negro, that did not speak with a black dialect, unless needed.  Never did he state that Obama was brilliant.  I think everyone remembers somebody from school that was extremely smart, but outside of academia couldn’t get anything done.   Nobody has ever stated that Obama is a hard worker.   He isn’t a hard worker (unless he is working on his golf game).  That’s what the country really need right now-a hard worker, a policy wonk, someone who knows how to get things done, a real leader.  I wonder who that might be…?  Just look to the SOS office, she’s right there, and she’s ready to lead.

  • oowawa

ROFLMAO–Uh-Oh–I’m almost beginning to like this guy!  He’s a funny guy!

When is a picture worth a thousand words? Here is Obama today in Ohio. Interesting the “placement” of the people used as props in the backdrop of his speeches. Note the older and notably “white” people used as props today. These guys are still “shaping” the message and not listening. Fail.

  • arabella trefoil

Oooh, Obama sounds belligerent. He’s also back in Bush-speak mode. He asks “What does this mean for Obama?”

He’s trying to act fiesty, but he looks tired and pissed off.

  • oowawa

Look at all those old white women!  Must be “tea-bags.”

  • Docelder

Come home to daddy… tea bags.  I think older white people are too smart for him now. They trusted him, and he cheated on them with commies. He wants to give their health care away to immigrants, maybe the only thing they have to show for working their fingers to the bone their whole lives.

Gosh, I was going to leave a comment, but you all have pretty much covered everything I was thinking. My thanks to all and my virtual hat is off to you.

Amy — once again you’ve brought us both great info and excellent analysis. Mr. Zuckerman should be ashamed because he actually exerted his considerable influence to help put the turtle on the post. He holds a greater share of the guilt than the average Obot IMO.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Excellent advice.  How many speches has he already given, like 412, since he got into office?  And he thinks he needs to talk MORE???  He never learnde the lesson, Less is More.”  I could sure use less of his talking.

And yes – this idea that he can now magically become a populist is just laughable.  Bill Clinton could, because he WAS. He truly related to people, no doubt from his background.  My partner said when she shook his hand at a Hillary rally (twice, the lucky duck), when he looked at you, it was like he really SAW you.

THe difference is, Obama doesn’t care to see you/us.  He isn’t in this for the country or its inhabitants, and it SHOWS.

Y’all are just the best – have I mentioned that lately??  Excellent comments!!

You know what really bothers me about this intelligence meme and so many others?  I ‘knew’ BO wasn’t very bright, just by listening to him.  In the words of my teenage son, ‘He isn’t saying anything!’  But in order to rebut that meme of intelligence, I had to do research, and cite facts, and the historical record.  Yes; I did my homework (and tried to persuade others of what I (and, it would appear, most of us here on this blog) perceived just by looking).  http://jbjd.wordpress.com/2008/08/30/if-you-think-barack-obama-is-so-smart-prove-it/

Um. Boxer was one of the precious few to vote against eliminating the Glass-Steagall Act despite President Clinton endorsing its demise.
I don’t like Obama but this one action keeps me with her. I don’t think our new California Republican heroes – Meg and Carly would vote against the banks and Wall Street.

Billionaire Mort Zuckerman is a day late and a dollar short.

  • whoframedrudy

I feel like smacking Zuckerman.  We don’t need him telling us
Obama sucks.  We need him to explain how the f’ing hell he ever fell for Obama in the first place.  That’s the great mystery.

This mess is Zuckerman’s fault.  It’s Harry Reid’s fault.  It’s Kennedy’s fault.  If you give your car keys to a 2-year-old, you can’t blame the 2-year-old when he runs into a tree.  These people are nothing less than traitors.   I understand Reid is just some political fungus.  And Kennedy had brain cancer.  But what is wrong with Mort’s mind?

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

    YES – well said.

No doubt the caucuses were fixed.  The Clinton campaign DID tell the DNC, btw.  The DNC would do nothing.  (The fraud in the Texas caucuses has been very well documented,  but complaints were made from a number of them.  The DNC turned a blind eye and deaf ear.)

    Good comment!

  • EllenD

“everyone remembers somebody from school that was extremely smart, but outside of academia couldn’t get anything done”
Since no one has proven that Obama was smart in school, I don’t know how this description applies.
how about “Everyone remembers someone who, because of family, influence or quotas didn’t have to do anything to get a pass in school, and rode that advantage into the real world.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Oh, yes – I can see that being what is going through his head, jbjd.  The info was there for those who wanted to see it…

Btw, I was wondering this morning what you thought abt the whole Supreme Court decision yesterday.  I checked your blog to see if you had written abt it or not – have you yet, or are you going to do so?  Would love to see it…

  • AC

Not an athlete but a CHUMP

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Thank you for the info and the links.  I had been wondering abt that, and hadn’t had a chance to look yet.

Honestly, when you have an alleged news agency at which employees audibly gasp on national tv at the thought of a Rep. senator from MA, you know they have no objectivity…

  • whoframedrudy

”between Clinton and Obama, it must have been African American-good, women-very, very bad.”

I think you put your finger on it.  These smart guys like Ed Koch and Zuckerman can lie all they want.  But their stupidity was just a deep, pathological sexism wrapped around their brain stems.  They would rather wreck our country than have a woman President.

And their treason was only necessary because they knew the country was ready to elect a woman President.

Man, that is some deep sickness.  I hope they all suffer terrible punishments.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

    LOL, AT.

And MrX, did you have to call them out?  You know they’ll be showing up soon…

Interesting thought abt Obama’s health.  I know others have wondered if that could be one of the reasons he refused to submit his full medical records…

R3A, I will answer a specific question on that…but right now, I am working on a posting that will give the spirited citizens of the TX the tools to break this whole ballot eligibility issue wide open.  (As far as I know, what I am proposing will only work in TX, because some of the laws in that state treat political parties like public agencies.  Hint:  this has to do with requests for documents.)

  • beachnan

You are probably right.  I have never seen Obama as “brilliant”.  I was just wondering why so many refer to him that way.  I would love to see his school records… and I wonder how everyone would react if he was a “C” student?  I also get very tired of hearing that he ran a brillliant campaign.  If you consider that he lied and cheated, and was micromanaged by Axlerod, how was OBAMA brilliant?  Too many were too easily bamboozled by the American Idol candidate.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Thanks so much, bayareavoter (and Judy!).

I know – I could not believe Obama was out on the road AGAIN, because you know – we have not heard him talk enough…Blech.

I am very concerned abt the Supreme Court ruling, too.  Greg Palast had a great article on this very thing yesterday.  I am sure we’ll be discussing the issue here soon.

We have to do SOMETHING, for sure.  Right now, more people claim to be affiliated with the Tea Party than any other group, so that says something…

Judy, you are SO right abt Bush! Who knew?!?!?

I held mini town-halls in my office just to educate people.  It worked on some, others not so much.  The ones that couldn’t wipe the glow off their face for having voted Obama didn’t even know about the Brown election, and the impending demise of healthcare.  Voting for Obama was nothing more than a feel good vote that they could brag about.

. The fiscal program was a disaster. You have to get the money as quickly as possible into the economy. They didn’t do that. By end of the first year, only one-third of the money was spent. Why is that?

    __________________________________________________________
Zuckerman appears to think that if Obama had only been more insistent, his policies would have been implemented “better,” “faster,” and we all would have magically been rescued. To him it’s always been about a “massive” intervention to create new jobs. The issue isn’t the policy, it’s methodology.

This is literally astounding coming from the the conservative Zuckerman….

I never felt connected either, Tex-Mex.  His hateful campaigning, pitting Dems against each other.  The misogyny, the homophobia, the ageism, the racism.  I still wonder how anyone could have fallen for this jackass and voted for him.  And despite all of our outrage and work, the DNC still disenfranchised the rightful winner of the primary and her supporters.  And here we are today – even worse then when Bush was in office economically.  Unbelievable.

  • Docelder

His major speeches are well orchestrated. It will be chock full of tone, voice and visual induction scripts and triggers. He falls on his face in town halls or inpromptu speech. This is why he is hiding out and laying low for just the bigger staged performances. Koolaid time for the masses.

  • FLDemFem

I think he was a C student. Michelle whined in an interview during the campaign that they had had to work so hard for just average grades. So he busted his butt to get “C”s. That is only one of the reasons, although a minor one in my opinion, that he keeps his records out of the public eye. I think the other more important reason is that there is proof in his school records that he accepted a scholarship for foreign students. So he had to swear an affidavit that he was a foreign national. That puts him in a real pickle. If he is a foreign national, he is not eligible for the presidency. If he is not a foreign national, and an NBC, then he is guilty of perjury, grand larceny by fraud, etc. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place!! Think that’s worth spending almost $2 million to keep those records sealed??

  • lorac

Don’t forget the people had two chances. They first turned down an experienced and proven woman in Hillary

I think they wanted to feel good and noble; so inclusive and hip.  They felt so proud of themselves voting for a black man.  And, I believe this may be the reason we have people like Clyburn, Rangle, Waters in congress.  These are not great people but got in because they are lefties and black.  Rangle and Waters have corruption charges hovering over them and Clyburn is just an out and out racist.

HAHAHAHA.  Or…turns out we were waiting for someone else.

Thanks Arabella for posting that pictures. I had lost a considerable pic collection when my laptop was ground into dust from following the primaries.

Rev. Amy, BO is like a trojan horse virus, that creates bad sectors on a hard drive. With all the scrubbing that went on, I am quite surprised that Mort found any solace in what he said. BTW, I do not think many are “waking up”, more like they just coughed in their sleep and rolled over.

  • TeakWoodKite

    Thank Stanley. LOL

I hate to say to but by comparison I miss Bush.  NOT CHENEY just Bush.  So can we start a recall?

I’ll start the petitions here in VA

Sandy, don’t hold your breath for him to admit he is a major screw-up.  I was shell-shocked when he told Matt Laur yesterday that the same thing that swept Scott Brown into office was the same thing that swept him into office.  He may be right if he is talking about anger, but he was trying to spin his way to his own glory by reminding people what a winner he was in 2008 not admit that perhaps he was swept into office due to the anger about Bush, but Brown was swept into office due to anger about him and his admin.

I can tell you now, he is not going to do what Bill Clinton did after the ’94 midterm elections and say, “you, the voters have spoken, and we hear you.”  Hell will freeze over before this thin-skinned jerk admits any failure.

Should he surprise all of us by following BC’s lead, it would only be to pacify the American people and lull them once again into thinking he means it just to realize down the road he did nothing of the sort.

snosandy, Colin Powell probably feels the same as he did when he endorsed this know-nothing and when he later angrily defended the endorsement after being accused by Rush Limbaugh of only endorsing him because he was AA.

AAs have seen this man in a different light than the rest of us – even white far-left 18-34 year olds.  That’s why they say things like the man in Ohio today at the Townhall meeting when he said to B0, “Mr. President, I can’t tell you how honored I am to be standing before you today.”  OMG!!!  What a graveling creep to put that in that context as tho standing before God Almighty!  AAs, young, old, educated and uneducated see B0 as a savior in one context or another.  Yes, there is a small percentage of AAs that don’t, but that group is miniscule in comparison to the others.

EllenD, I am very sorry to hear you say that about Boxer.  As a fellow female US Senator and related to Hillary by marriage, Boxer chose to be “uncommitted” in the primary of 2008, while every other dem was mired in open support of their candidate – something I had never seen before in 25 years of political activism.

I was suspicious of Boxer’s uncommitted status since Pelosi, Emanuel, Reid, Brazile, Dean, etc. said the same thing but worked behind the scenes like ants in hot ashes for this know-nothing, even approving the fraudulent caucus pandamonium to make sure their candidate was nominated.

Boxer’s further insult to Hillary was when she was asked by a reporter who she thought would finally win.  She hung her head in dramatic sorrow and said, ”I will just be glad when it is over.  It is very painful to watch two friends going at each other like this.”

Then Boxer’s final insult to Hillary was after the primary had ended. She was asked if sexism had been used against Hillary.  Her answer was a quick “no”.  Then she was asked if she had ever had sexism used against herself; again she said “no”.  Talk about being out of touch with reality!

I find Boxer disgusting after all of that plus her more recent blunders like insisting the General addressing her as mam call her Senator.  Carly Fiorina would be a major improvement for CA.

In an article on Drudge, Bloomberg who had been Obama’s earliest supporter is furious at what Obama wants to do with the Banks.  Ditto for Tina Browne and Paul Krugman.  In the end Obama will screw everyone who had faith in him.  That’s what you get when you elect an amateur self declared Messiah.  Bill O’Reilly said that Fox had 7 times the ratings of any other cable channel on Tuesday Night for the election of Scott Brown.  It seems the voters are also punishing the bastards in the media for being Obama shills.

  • FranSC

Diana, I agree with all your points.  With all my political involvement including being a delegate to a dem nat’l conv, my thoughts were dismissed as simply “politics”, being a poor loser, and even racist when I have been a huge Civil Rights person since Jr High.   I have never felt so helpless when even my children who grew up going to political events did not want to hear it.  Thankfully they did support Hillary until June 7th since they were baby feminists.

Amy, I do disagree with one of your points in an otherwise excellent post and that is when you took issue with Zuckerman’s  calling 0′s campaign “brilliant, brilliant!” and wondering what happened.  You disagreed with Zuckerman about it being “his” brilliant ideas but gave credit to Axelrod and Plouffe.  From all I’ve learned about his campaign, neither he NOR the Chicago gang were responsible.  They sure got the credit and were the front people taking the bows which was probably by design.

These clowns had run his US Senate campaign and possibly the other legislature campaigns.  0 did not have a viable opponent in his US Senate campaign so no reason for big fundraising there.  They had never raised over $100,000 in any of his campaigns.  The money was raised by the venture capitalist company in Silicone Valley secured by Nancy Pelosi as well as they were the hi tech geniuses that used  social networking on a scale used for big business but never seen before in politics – NOT B0′s brainchild nor the Chicago group.

The Chicago group led us to believe they were organizing $5 and $10 contributions that got them to the $750M.  Not so.  The final campaign finance reports showed that 26% of the contributions were under $200.  76% were $1000 or more.  These included the middle east money, the Mickey Mouse/Donald Duck money, plus other highly questionable funds.

Then the other campaigns within their campaign were the MoveOn.org thugs using George Soros’ $40M to organize the rallies and caucus fraud online per Howard Dean’s geeks.  Then SEIU used $60M to get him nominated and elected.  They had a Race Team led by Jesse Jackson Jr. which the Chicago clowns probably gave a thumbs up to.  They had the DNC and Dem leadership organizing their own efforts and making sure Hillary did not win.  Axelrod, the frustrated “Director” organized the crowd scenes for dramatic effect, but not getting the people there – that was MoveOn’s job.  ACORN did the registrations and attended out-of-state caucuses.

Although 0 gave David Plouffe a lot of credit, don’t you find it odd that he was not named to a post and is not part of the Chicago WH mafia.  He wrote a recent book called, “How We Did It” which is a joke.  He is probably working on 2012 and would never give away trade secrets.  It was yet another propaganda piece.

0bama was simply in the right place at the right time to have this all loped on him.  If people knew this they would understand the difference in the *brilliant* campaign and what has happened since.  The same people are not running the WH or the Government.  The Chicago mob did not run or coordinate the campaigns. The only common denominator in the campaign was hatred of George Bush and Hillary and Bill.  That is the disconnect that people keep scratching their heads over.

I understand Mort was active in the civil rights movement and still finds inspiration in the belief that Obama represents what every black person in the world has been hoping for: that the fight of the dream for racial equality in North America can spread to the entire globe.
That racial equality is key to America’s international position.

But with Buffett and Zuckerman etc more than a no doubt the big game was money. There must have seen future opportunities to buy or sell something if Obama were elected president instead of McCain.

  • FranSC

Yes, jbjd, I too am very interested in your take on that Supreme Court Ruling.  I am bewildered at the Dems being so vehemently opposed to this since I believe this will help B0 repeat the fundraising done for him in 2007 & 2008 using the highest tech social networking in todays big business – where millions are reached at the click of a mouse.  76% of his funds came from contributions of over $1,000.  Only 24% were contributions under $200.  Does not square with the poor mouthing they did yesterday and today.

Is their protest the same as Brer Rabbit’s when he kept saying, “No, don’t throw me in that briar patch – please don’t throw me in that briar patch”, when that’s exactly what he wanted??  Repub big business money could not begin to compete with the money raised for the know-nothing, clueless POTUS.

Wonderful Metaphor. I feel the same way. I believe many people were so bent against showing they were not part of that “raci$t group” who wouldn’t vote for the one, gave away their vote as “proof” of their extreme need to somehow satisfy fighting for the “little guy” against the imagined bigoted centrists. Not once did they consider, the former dems (such as myself) may just happen to see this wolf in sheep’s clothing, for what he was. That we didn’t like his politics, and didn’t like what the party did to our candidate. We understood the hypocrisy and open season mentality on any who opposed their golden one. If only it had stopped there. Yet, throughout this year, the continued bashing of people at tea parties, and claims of “red-neck raci$m” from the one’s supporters as well as the whoruing media, has and will continue to hurt whatever party the dems believe they still have. If a double standard is wrong for one group it  will not wash clean when used against another. I think it is as simple as people are numb to the insults, and stunningly stupidity of blind support for any politician; refusing to fall in line because they were bullied into it. There is alot of catch up to do for anyone falling for the party line from either side. We are slowly becoming a centrist/independent group of voters in this country; that are showing are strength and convictions by our vote. Dumbing it down, insulting us and yucking it up will get you a Mass. style election result everytime.

My dear arabella trefoil, the picture you painted of me/us being married to Obama has caused me great distress. The picture will not leave my mind and is causing nausea, headaches and a burning sensation when I sit down. Where do I go to get a picture of a Obama/me divoce picture implanted on my brain?

I know I wouldn’t have married him because I have never been that drunk or that stupid. And I’ve been really, really both at one time or another!

  • glennmcgahee

Lets all remind ourselves that Obama partnered with John Edwards to steal votes and delegates away from Hillary. Obama had to know about Edwards indiscretions. In the debates when they piled on Hillary together and when Edwards dropped out and endorsed Obama. We all wondered then why we had not heard Elizabeth do the same. Edwards should never have been in Iowa. What would the landscape look like if he had not been in the mix. Then there is the RBC meeting May 31. The DNC is totally responsible. They annointed Obama the nomination as the country voted to give Hillary the nod, only to be ignored. So I don’t just blame Obama. The Dinocrats have alot of explaining to do. Glad I left the party. I feel better about my decision every day.

  • Diana L. C.

Wow, this information makes everything even more clear to me.   Somehow, some way, all this needs to be made public on a wider scale, and the people involved need to be crucified (at least using whatever method would be equivalent today).  I have tried to explain to my obot friends and family that their small contributions and from people like them didn’t really amount to much of the enormous amount spent on his campaign and that stupid innauguration spectacle.  The people who did this should have to spend as much to pay down the debt we’ve accrued under this administration.

  • Sassy

I was amazed as I watched Mr. Zuckerman that afternoon.
I have seen him for years, and he is always agreeable and measured.
Damn, “he had his say” on this one, and Neil let him!
Expect more of the same when like-minded people also speak up!

    “And now we are stuck.”

(sigh)  Yes, we are.  Three more years of Mr. Onederful.  The mind reels.

Clearly, they got to her.  She drew the line (for a while) at supporting Obama but she caved to them by abandoning Hillary.  Politics at its finest.

  • creeper

You’re right, Annie Carmel.  Scott Brown hasn’t fightened Obama.  But he’s scared the sh*t out of every other Dem in Washington.

Buffet came to support o after the primaries; before that he was giving time to both o and HRC.

Get this quote from the Weekly Standard. ”We never forget seniors because they vote  Obama then hastened to add that we appreciate seniors because they “changed our diapers

Yet Obama we vote.  Does that make you want to soil your diaper?

I can vouch for President Clinton looking right at people,in the eyes.  He also signs everything for everyone and shakes more hand than obama and his supprters put together.

I also shook Bills hand and I worked as a volunteer for Hillary and was holding my sign when Bill came around to shake hands and was right up front and I told him Pa. is for Hillary.   He while shaking one hand put his big hand around the side of my face and said god bless you.  I think my friend eyes almost popped out!LOL

Also when Chelsea and the Sean Astin, and others came to pa. they, after the speech came right out ther and were accesible and shook hand and spoke to many of us. I love chelsea also . They all the Clintons are so good at speaking and relating to people and seem very down to hearth and in touch.

Partnered with Edwards all the while loudly pushing the myth that “she’s too polrrizing” to win.  Guess the stolen primary squashed that.

  • AnnieCarmel

    sorry, make that “polarizing”

Amy, thanks for this excellently presented post…the Zuckerman rant is quite interesting in that he doesn’t like Obambi’s hitting on his dahling Wall Street thugsters–but only because Obie does it for purely political reasons!  Really, Zuckerman!  I feel that His Hopeness is stepping on some sensitive Wall Street toes these days, for reasons having to do with his own political survival only, and one of these toes is connected to Zuckerman’s financial empire.  Although, Zuckerman does make sense and his commentary is not unrealistic.  But surely I never would have ezpected Zuckerboy to criticize Obie unless it ran contrary to his own pocket’s interests!

Periodically, Obummer will feel ‘down’ and start launching attacks agaisnt Wall Streeters to boost his political appeal…..

    Pumas: welcome Mr. Zuckerman

The one thing that bothers me is hearing th first African American president. If your black, and born in america, your an american. If you were born in africa and came to the states legally, your and african american. So what does that make obama? when i see his records, ill let yall know.

  • arabella trefoil

    “they changed our diapers”

Again, it’s all about you isn’t it, Barry? I’m not a Freudian, but that quote reveals a lot about you. What happened when you were little? Did mommy forget to change your diapers? Did she just, hippy style, let you run around naked? Of coures, good mommies are supposed to change diapers and not run off and leave their kids. Which is what mommy did to you, Barry.

Then your white grandmother raised you, sent you to good schools, and made sure you were taken care of. No wonder you hate women, especially older women.

You are one sick puppy if you have to talk about changing diapers. I truly question your emotional stability.

  • arabella trefoil

Just cuz you’re rich, don’t mean you’re smart.

Obama will never admit he is wrong, or has done a bad job. Any shortcomings in his administration will always be due to other peoples’ mistakes. Obama is a narcissist and is incapable of admitting he was less than perfect.

If(when!!) he decides not to run again, he will claim to have accomplished the changes he wanted in DC and say that given the current political climate(his poll numbers hovering around zero)it would be best to hand over to someone else who can continue his policies. Then he will endorse Hillary and, after she cleans up the mess he made, claim that her entire administration was based on his policies, and the success of her administration was mostly due to him and his prep job. After all, he did such a good job “training” her while she worked for him, right?

  • zaine_ridling

I’ve definitely been busy reminding all my obama-supporter friends how incompetent the man is, how many vacations he’s taken, how many times around the world he’s flown without result, how often he plays GOLF (daily), and how he loves to make speeches and see himself on the TV, but not so much do any governing. He’s as shallow as a playing card and a second straight embarrassment to the country.
