A Historic Candidacy Based On A Lie

I am Sgt. Patsy Rogers, stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.

In his own words, the historic candidacy of Senator Obama can be traced all the way back to Selma, Alabama. A place Senator Obama states in his speech in 2007 he owes his very existence to. His passionate speech before a congregation at Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church tells the story of how the protests in Selma played a part in him being able to stand before them that day.

The riveting story of how JFK played a part in his father having the chance to be one of the young Africans who were brought to this country and given scholarships to study so they could learn what a wonderful country this is, was poignant and beautiful. He described how the events and his very existence came about as reflected in this passage of his speech:

“This young man named Barack Obama got one of those tickets and came over to this country. He met this woman whose great-great-great-great grandfather had owned slaves. But she had a good idea there was some craziness going on because they looked at each other and they decided that we know that in the world as it had been, it might not be possible for us to get together and have a child.”

He goes even more in depth, filled with emotion, as he describes the impact of this movement on who he is, and where he is today…

“…there was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born. So don’t tell me I don’t have a claim on Selma, Alabama. Don’t tell me I’m not coming home to Selma Alabama. I’m here because somebody marched. I’m here because you all sacrificed for me. I stand on the shoulders of giants”.

Moving, riveting and nothing but LIES. The march to which he refers happened on March 7, 1965, when demonstrators attempted to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma Alabama.

It is mathematically impossible for Obama senior and Ann Dunham to decide to marry based on the “march” in Selma and produce Senator Obama, if Senator Obama was born in AUGUST 1961 and the march in Selma happened in 1965. How can he state JFK was responsible for the first airlift bringing Kenyans over when Kenyan nationalist leader, Tom MBoya was responsible between 1959 & 1960 for gaining financial support for this endeavor? JFK was responsible for the SECOND airlift and had nothing to do with the first. Senator Obama’s father was already in Hawaii studying.

But there are those who had an impact and were part of that movement that Senator Obama carelessly used in a speech for political gain, destroying our history without KNOWING our history:

Amelia Boynton Robinson, whose mother, with a horse and buggy, used to get people down to the registration office and help them register in Savannah Georgia in 1920. She herself decided that she would help people vote because so many were illiterate and couldn’t fill out the two page literacy tests.

Or John Lewis who talks about Freedom Day in Selma, October 8, 1963, which he felt was a turning point during the Civil Rights movement; who witnessed the march on Washington by the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee call for “one man, one vote” and decided to see if that idea would work down in Selma.

2.1 percent: 2.1 percent of black people of age were registered to vote. Hundreds of black people lined up and stood outside of a county courthouse for almost an ENTIRE DAY on October 8th 1963. At the end of that day, after elderly black men and women stood outside all day, only 5 people made it in to take the literacy tests. Five. Almost similar to the treatment of those who attempted to vote in the caucuses in this election. But just like the elected officials we have now, the ones back in Selma in 1963 did not care because they looked to the bigger picture. Suppressing the right for some to vote.

Because of the threat of the Democratic Party losing congressional state and local campaigns based on alienating the “African American” community from having a “historical” election, our country will end up suffering a possible 4 years of the most worthless candidate in American history that should never have made it this far.

Who made it to this point based on the pigmentation of their skin alone? Civil Rights Leaders and Activists fought to NOT be judged by the color of their skin; to have fair representation and NOT be denied based on the color of their skin. But you want us to vote based on his? Now, it is to the point the DNC would rather lose the 2008 election just to gain seats in the House and the Senate: by using the ignorance of the black community; by not explaining the process; by not educating them on how the nomination process works; by putting the idea in their head that the Super Delegates voting at the convention is some form of “backroom” deal.

I am black. And hell will freeze over before I ever give my vote, my support, or my loyalty to an individual who uses the backs of the black community and our history as a stepping stone to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Obama is a man who has zero problem straight out lying, embellishing stories and twisting the words to give the appearance of something that is not there and is nothing but an illusion.

Mariah Carey, Rosario Dawson, Vin Diesel, Rachel Ray Smith, Miss USA 2007, Soledad O’Brien, Barack Obama. What do they all have in common? They are bi-racial. Senator Obama doesn’t acknowledge his “other side” because it would ruin his image of being called the first “black” president. That is why you get to see his Kenyan relatives and not the loving “white” ones who raised him. If he can throw his grandmother under the closest bus, and she raised him, what will he do to his so called “black community” when they find out what he “really” means after the convention? Then, their votes will be based on the “lesser of two evils” and they will see they were used to achieve a goal. Especially when he lied and stated he can no more disown them than Rev Jeremiah Wright.

Yes, I am disappointed in those of my race who would rather dance in the streets screaming “Yes We Can” and who state they want a “black” president and a “historic” election more than a job or health insurance. What will they do on Nov 5th when he loses and they realize they STILL don’t have a job, still don’t have a house, still don’t have health insurance, still struggle to make ends meet, still can barely afford gas, that they are still standing in that same damned welfare line, still standing in the unemployment line, and still struggling to put food on the table? Will everyone then go back to screaming the mantra that “the white man is still keeping you down”? Probably. But they keep themselves down by making irrational and frivolous decisions. They DESERVE to struggle. You can only be a victim for so long before it is time to become accountable for your own actions.

They cannot see that the “white” elected officials like Robert Wexler, who apply the word “racist” to anyone having the audacity to ask a question of Senator Obama, use words such as this to “incite” the black people, to “rile” up the black community, and like idiots they fall for it hook, line and sinker.

To the African American Super Delegates & Delegates, elected officials, Local and State leaders, community leaders, & Ministers within the black community: You are worthless; positively worthless. You have condemned MILLIONS to suffer based on the fact you can’t look past of the color of the hand before you. You would rather have a “historic” election, gain seats, and lose the general election, than to have change. If Senator Barack Obama was a white man, or if this was Senator McCain who had a WHITE pastor giving anti-American speeches in the pulpit, associates like Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, and Rezko, endorsing Raila Odinga, HE WOULD NOT HAVE MADE IT THIS FAR. That Senator Obama was ignorant of the actions of his associates is hard to believe considering his degree from Harvard University.

To the local and state officials, white & black, and the African American community leaders in Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Louisiana: If your constituents are voting for Senator Obama based on skin color, please forward my email address to them: soldier4hillary@yahoo.com. They are going to need it to get a clear explanation and reason for why Senator Obama lost.

Senator Clinton does not need to be anywhere near an Obama ticket. I could care less about her endorsement of Senator Obama. I could care less about her words of support. She can give that speech during the convention with the original birth certificate of Senator Obama in one hand, his hidden grandmother standing behind her, and the other hand linked to Larry Sinclair all while giving a speech stating the truth was really not the truth, all while singing Kumbayah and I would still vote against him.

And if she is on the ticket I would vote AGAINST her as well. Because when Senator Obama’s political career goes down the drain and he loses the election, based on the information the Democratic Party chose to overlook, she does not need to be anywhere in the vicinity, and the political career she has worked for all her life does not need to be jeopardized. I could care less about your black constituents voting solely on skin color and a false belief Senator Obama is “one of them.” If you want to see a true riot, not the “paid” rioters Al Sharpton talked about, put her on that losing ticket and let her political career become tarnished by that loser. I would rather re-elect a Republican Senator who takes gifts to get his house fixed than to vote for one Democratic Party member on ANY ballot that is willing to sacrifice the safety of our country, nominate a candidate that foreign countries have the ability to blackmail and gain the upper hand based on information this party overlooked.

It’s no longer about Senator Clinton. Because the day after the Democratic Convention, it is going to be an all out assault on those looking to have the “black folks” backs be the path to maintaining your seat because you have done your part and given them their “historical” election with their “historical” candidate knowing he does not have a prayer of a chance of winning.

When Senator Barack Obama loses in November, and he will lose big, you will blame Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. You will blame her because as she fought for the heart and soul of your party, to be able to push this country forward and back on track, you fought just to have Senator Obama, his coattails and a couple of extra seats and positions in your districts. You care nothing for this country. You have no LOYALTY to its people. No matter what happens from this day forward I will ALWAYS continue to support, stand by, and do all I can for Senator Clinton. Not because she asked or feels it’s her right, but because she EARNED IT!

She earned it when it was deemed necessary to label a former First Lady, sitting Senator, and Presidential Candidate racist. She earned it every time one of her supporters received death threats and hate mail, she earned it for every single time I was called a “Hillary Nigger”, “Hillarity Nigger”, “Sell Out”, “Uncle Tom” “Military Republican Troll”, “Dead Ender” from those of my very own race who are quick to call someone else racist, as they throw every racial slur they can think of my way, because I choose not to support a candidate that is here today only because of the color of his skin.

I have no loyalties to any party be it Democratic or Republican. I could care less about fake “riots” as threats instigated by Al Sharpton. I could care less about any Democrats on any ballots. The idea of true “change” went out the door when people turned a blind eye to the dead coming back to vote in a primaries against my goddamned candidate. If they thought people choosing ‘the lesser of two evils’ was the route this party would go, they never realized we wanted solutions for our country versus a historic election.

For Rev Al Sharpton: You had the audacity to get on television and state there would be “riots” if anything was taken away from Senator Obama if he won the popular vote. Al? HE DIDNT. Senator Clinton did. You know good and damned well no one is going to “riot” for Senator Obama.

The reason they like Senator Obama is based on the fact that he thinks he can come to the black churches and give speeches “telling you about yourselves” and what the “black community” has done wrong. He comes and talks down to the people by telling them everything wrong, i.e., black men abandoning their families, and never saying anything done right. He tells you about his father being a goat herder and his mother on welfare as if that is what being “Black in America” is all about, and the masses eat that shit up. Because now they think he is knows about the struggle, overcoming and beating the odds.

Does he highlight going to school in Hawaii? Or that he had loving grandparents who raised him? Hell, no. You didn’t have the decency to check the goddamn facts before you got up on national television spouting useless, false nonsense. Between Jesse Jackson, Jr. who threw his own father under the bus for Senator Obama, you have hurt the chances of millions having the benefits outlined throughout Senator Clinton’s campaign. Amazing!

You and the African American Super Delegates and Delegates have a Senator who has come along and will credit himself as the one who banished racial divide and affirmative action forever because since he is nominated it must mean it is no longer needed or no longer happening. All by just waving his sparkly magic wand in the air to make it all go away; all while riding on his prancing sparkly pony as leprechauns prance around yelling “Yes We Can”. The sky is opening up with angels playing a harp with glittery butterflies in the air.

Now, if you speak out, according to CNN, you’re just jealous and bitter because he is our new messiah who transcends race.

Rev. Sharpton, what do you think will happen if he is nominated? You and all of those in the black community who support him will be under the closest bus. You are no longer needed. Your threats in the Primary of riots allowed him to win based on paid Super Delegates and scared Super Delegates afraid to have those in their community not vote for them. Simply amazing.

Senator Obama talks about his father “abandoning” him. Get real. His father was already married with a family. Do you see Obama giving speeches on adultery? His father went to an Ivy League school. Did you see Obama give a speech on being able to succeed? His mother went to an Ivy League school. Did you see Obama give a speech about his mother who was on “welfare” but was able to attend a prestigious college despite the odds?

Senator Obama says what is needed for the moment and has no problem destroying everything people fought for. The only thing he knows about the black community is based on what David Axelrod has taught him. Rev. Sharpton, they brought you out to incite the masses with words of “riots.” You know good and damn well what happens during a primary. You know how the process works. You know. But you allowed people to remain ignorant to achieve a goal.

So I will continue to be a Republican Dead Ender Puma Kitty Hillary Nigger Troll who gets hate mail and threats, I wear the title as proudly as the flag on my right shoulder. I would rather stand for something than to stand for nothing at all.

Stephanie Miller has a tape recording in her brain that she plays whenever she mentions Obama- it causes her to bleat “Barack Obama Who Was Raised by a Single Mother….”

She repeats this at least a dozen times during her godawful radio show.

Obama’s entire life, as presented to us by the Obama Campaign and the Media (pardon my redundancy) is a lie. It’s total fabrication, a movie script being sold to us as a resume. God help us all.

  • catherine

Not only do I believe Obama’s candidacy is based on a lie, there is NO WAY ever I could see Michelle Obama as our nation’s first lady. She hates America and will be a lousey representative for our nation throughout the world. If Obamabots cannot see this their eyes are closed.

Truth telling is often difficult — but it is the ONLY way to live with yourself.

Also it is so much easier to remember the truth.

Thanks Patsy for your loyalty and love for this country.

  • Steve1

Thank-you for a n excellent summary of the real Barak Obama!

  • Shainzona

Oh, wow, Patsy. Thank you for the courage you have shown in your words. I can only imagine what you have gone through for your principles and I am honored that you not only serve this country, but serve those of us who have stood side by side with you in this “Democratic” struggle.

  • Steve1

Thank-you for an excellent summary of the real Barak Obama!

  • JP49

Soldier4Hillary: Your the best. I love your writings. You can so clearly say it. I am very thankful you are a Hillary supporter and that you have the clarity to put it in writing. I wish I could do the same. Its Hillary or McCain, nothing else will do.

Interesting blog story about Google, Howard Dean and Obama. Very Long but if you’re mad now you’ll be more angry after reading this

We have been hoodwinked and Bamboozled as the union of the three above STARTED in 2004.

  • RepublicanChick

Well, the convention is coming up shortly.

If Barack Obama isn’t the nominee, will you vote for Hillary?

    If not, are you anti-woman?

I just need to know what Obots are going to do when they’re world gets rocked?

  • SHV

Sgt. Rogers is an amazing person and a hell of a good writer. I enjoyed reading her posts at TM’s before that site went into the toilet. I understand the reason why many AA’s are voting for Obama, for reasons of pride, ethnic identity, etc., and it is sickening to know that Obama is using the national AA community just as he used the poor AAs living in his district to enrich his friends. The whole situation is nauseating.

  • SFK

Very good article. Thank you also for your service.

  • Linda K

Thank you Soldier4Hillary. I always love reading your articles and posts. I find myself actually hoping that the DNC loses control of both houses as well as losing the Presidency for their horrific part in this election. I know I’m going to do my part and vote straight Republican and I’m sick about it. We had a walk to keep control of Congress and have a Democratic President, but somehow the Party likes to embrace defeat. I hope they’re happy with the results they’ve wrought.

    Stop thief!

  • Grail Guardian

Sgt. Rogers, I salute you. I am proud to have such a patriot defending our country. Your courage, pride, integrity, and dignity are exactly what I wish the rest of the world to picture when they think of an American.

Thank you for your posts and for your service to this wonderful nation, and stay safe.

  • roseeriter

Soldier for Hillary I too would rather stand for something than to stand for nothing at all and I stand with you. I love honest people!

  • All Obama Supporters Are Violent and Sexist. All Obama Supporters Are Easily Duped Drones. All Obama Supporters Are Low Information Voters

Not only does Barack Obama know nothing about the African-American community; he has never had to work a day in his life. A scion of Rezko, his career was handed to him on a silver platter. Even his Rezko mansion was bequeathed to him through questionable means. But he still insists on claiming he is the epitome of the American dream. Only an idiot would believe that fiction.

I see a few outcomes from this surreal primary

    1) There is a roll call and vote and HRC wins the nomination. Lots of gnashing of the teeth and wahhhhh, she takes the POTUS and gets rid of all the bots. Of course they will wahhh all the way out the door. Poor babies.

    2) HRC accepts the VP slot and after the nomination BHO is declared ineligible and she steps up as the nominee and wins POTUS. It’s in the wind about his birth certificate and a lot of other stuff.

    3) HRC, her 18M voters and Big Dawg are thrown away, BHO get the nomination and loses in a historic loss and the party implodes. Pelosi, Kerry, et al lose their seats and a “Centrist” party emerges and the DNC becomes a footnote in history. Lots of obots are indicted and go to jail for voter fraud, etc…

    4) BHO gets the nomination and wins the GE (God Forbid). It is the worst administration in history and he is either impeached or resigns. The one hit wonder becomes a footnote in history. The Centrist party nominates HRC in ’12 and she becomes the first third pary POTUS. The neolibs become the laughingstock of the country.

    5) In a historic event JM and HRC hold a press conference stating that they are putting country first and join together to win the WH for real americans. A historic event that alters the landscape of the political proces.

    I’ll take 1,2 or 5.

    What about any of you?

    HRC’08
    HRC’12

No HRC in ’08 then JM

    Nobama, EVER.

Obama is running for president to Promote his new book “Change you can believe In”? He is the biggest con artist I have ever seen. This guy is brazenly going to speak at the convention on a topic with his new book tittle. He is taking all the voters for a big ride to millions of dollars.

Whether he lose or win Obama will be very rich. I am shocked that his book to be realease in September has the same name as his acceptance speech. WHat a joke. He can’t even wait until the race if over to make his money. Obama reminds me of that Eddie Murphy movie “the Distinguished Gentleman.”

    Sgt. Patsy Rogers,
Thank You for this clear thinking blog diary. I love how you show your pride in our country by telling the history of our country. Obama’s lying about Selma and kidnapping history to sell his baloney just burns me. He takes liberties to create a false narrative that must not be questioned. It’s all about him.
You, Patsy, are courageous and smart.
If you are typical of the women serving in our military, I know we are in good hands.
Thanks for your service and your hard work for Hillary.

As an African-American young woman, I’m so happy to finally see a post like this from someone of my own race.

I get it from all sides: my peers hating on me and black people hating on me. Just. Because. I. Won’t. Vote. For. Obama.

I never really looked at people as black vs white until Obama became a “celebrity.” I just looked at people as… people.

Now, I feel pushed along racial divisions as you said, “Hillary Nigger,” “Uncle Tom,” and all that. But I’m married to a white man so I’ve been an Uncle Tom before all of this hoopla.

Thank you so much for this post and expressing how you feel. I wish I knew of more African Americans who felt the same way so I knew I wasn’t alone.

Yes, I will vote straight Republican for the first time. The Democratic Party is beyond redemption at this point. They have not earned anything for my 40 years of support. Rebuild from the ground up. Or, if by some miracle the Dean cabal retains their post, then a viable third party has to be the outcome of this deception.

Thanks Sgt. You are a brave, strong, clear minded woman.

    That is such a shame.

Racism still exists, because we all keep telling ourselves it does.

No matter who you are, get up, do your best, and take your lumps like everyone else.

I could never judge someone based on their skin color; it’s always based on individual experiences.

Nice, Sgt. Patsy, as always, so courageous. I know you will touch many of the hearts that you’ve spoken to directly, here.

With all the tons and tons of fraud that have gone on for months without question, the biggest injustice that I can see in all of this process is the denial of Hillary Clinton on the ballot at the convention. John Edwards, ranking Members of our legislative House and the dNC are in collusion and it is out and out unAmerican. Why even bother with a convention? It’s not even necessary.

This tops everything and is deadly wrong.

Revolt. Your rights have been usurped for only God knows why.

Senator Barak Hussein Obama II is not even qualified insofar as his resume is concerned. Go figure.

It is a loud scream as well, to think this person is willing to manipulate history, with a lie to satisfy what he thinks will work to get himself into office. Its insulting to everyone who worked in the civil rights movement, and its very demeaning to the black community. What he has done is cast a group of people into yet another category, and acts as if he is the sole representation of that race. It is a dangerous assumption to ever think that a whole race of people agree with a singular representation, especially when it is a self proclaimed representation. The same with political parties. Notice JFK nor MLK had to claim anything; they didn’t have to assert an ownership into what they were involved in, they were given that recognition, by others. Obama gives it to himself, and assigns it as if it is an entitlement rather than what should be earned and given.

You make us proud! You have summarized the “hollow
foundation” upon which is built the ONE we’ve come
to call Obama. One of many names.
A charlatan…chameleon. Yet, our joint chorus of
outrage is hardly causing a “dent” in the Obama cam-
paign fortifications. As these superD’s prepare for
the convention, I pray that these are “days of revel-
ation” for them, along with the rest of those so
blinded by the “light that will lead us” to vote
    for OB.
As disappointed as many will be not to have Hillary

from a “distance”. She would be safer.

I meant to add this is how it worked out for Senator Clinton as well, she wasn’t entitled to our respect or support, nor did she behave that way, that woman earned her way into the heart of 18 million Americans. For me, I knew she was a warrior, and had survived some serious, public battles. She held her head up, and moved forward, and continued. I never felt because she was a woman I owed her anything, I supported Senator Clinton because I admire and respect her; the fact she is a woman is icing on the cake, but note the cake has to be made before you can put any icing on it!

  • Peggy Sue

Hope you’re ready to say: Boo-hoo, Obama lost!

  • yttik

    Great post, Soldier4Hillary.

After reading Obama’s books, I came away really not liking his mother. She wasn’t all about falling in love with a black man, she was about doing something rebellious and probably hoping to irritate her parents. I would have, just in retaliation for naming me Stanley, so I was forced to go thru life being reminded I wasn’t the son they wanted. And Obama’s dad, we already know what he was, a drunk, already married to somebody else.

If Obama had simply told this story as it really was, I think I would liked him better. But it’s the lies, the fairy tales, the hubris, that gets on my nerves. That and the way he piggybacks off of actual activists, those who really did put themselves on the line. He’s never stood for anything, but he claims their accomplishments as his own. In an interview with Pravda today, David Axelrod stated that, “Once in the White House, Obama will not hold any press conferences nor will he be available for interviews without questions submitted in writing two weeks in advance.” Axelrod praised the political system in Russia calling it “A symbol of democracy, an inspiration for America and the world”

Thank you for posting this. I have that same feeling as a white person, never thought of people as black or white, just people…but I have been wondering if I say that out loud, do black people really believe me?

I feel sad that some of them have been led down a bad path by the race baiters. And it works both ways, white people have their haters as well.

I can’t believe what the supposed uniter has done. It’s astonishing.

  • http://obamafact.blogspot.com/ Mel

Hope the Black community isn’t going to be fooled.

Remember Michelle Obama’s thesis of giving back to the Black community? What did Michelle give back, a husband who has kmade a mockery of the civil rights movement in the 1960′s and the airlifts of the 1950′s of which Michelle claiming to be so knowledgeable of the black community and its struggles then must know her husband was a fraudulant liar with his book he wrote early in their marriage.

Edwards wife carried a family lie since 2006 over her husbands affair, Michelle Obama has carried her husbands lies to the black family community for 12 years, who is the worst fraudulant deceiver to the American public?

So when Michelle Obama takes the stage at the DNP convention to give the opening key note speech, just remember, the person giving the speech is as phoney if not more than the entire campaign her husband is attempting to swindle over the intelligence of the American voters!

You are awesome Sgt. Patsy! I love your blogs and your videos on YouTube.

What will happen in the AA community if it turns out Obama is really the son of Soetero?

It is sad that as the fighting and political development in Iraq continues, we cannot even serve as an example of democracy for them to emulate. This election is just about as sectarian as it gets.

  • SBwa

whatever. it is a joke. they will only choose “questions” that make obama look good and mccain look bad.

I am a black female and I am sick of people saying it is racist if white republicans criticize Obama. I know this is a democrat blog but I do visit it sometimes. If HRC was the nomineee I would have voted for her because I see her more of a centrist than a raging liberal like Obama.

Obama voted against the Partial birth abortion. He voted to kill babies born alive just to support his abortion stance. EVen Hillary thought that was gruesome. Now he tries to hide it and say it was a technicality. The media accepts his lame excuses. By the way, I am pro choice but to let a baby die is just evil. Also Obama was the only person in the Illinois senate to vote for porn shops next to schools. He claimed he hit the wrong person.

ANyway, there are still some good minorities out there who haven’t drank Obama juice. People like Allen West who is running in Florida.

This ties in to my theory that it was obama who leaked the Edwards story in the first place. when no one picked up on it last year they tucked it away to hold over his head. Recall that eliminating the competition through underhanded means is an Obama hallmark. I look forward to someone digging into this.

Sgt. Patsy and Marissa- You both make me proud to be a woman! For the life of me, I could not figure out why so many African American women abandoned Hillary. Hillary’s platforms were real, tangible- healthcare, children’s needs, economy, education, housing. The daily needs of life for us and our children. It broke my heart to see so many smart but struggling AA women vote against their own self-interests. Sacrificing for what? an empty suit with no real principals or vision? Just broke my heart.

  • Peggy Sue

    Soldier4Hillary:

Thank you for that. I’m an old white woman [getting older every day, I might add], but this whole thing saddens me. I can only imagine what pressure you’ve been under. It’s unconscionable that any one should be called those names, anymore than any woman need hear the “C” word, simply for not endorsing an unqualified candidate.

It’s also so-o-o cynical. You cannot tell me that there are candidates of color more qualified than Barack Obama. I can think of an outstanding leader on the Republican side: Colin Powell. And I’m convinced, had Powell sought office he would have won. There’s no question of his leadership abilities though I think he was sorely abused by the present administration. Like a loyal soldier, he fell on his sword. But many people, Dems and Republicans, black and white, respect Powell for the man he is and has been. He could have won had he wanted the job.

Plus, I’ve never bought into this nonsense that the entire AA community is going to rise up and burn the country down if Obama doesn’t win. We’re all invested here. It’s our country, our Constitution. I think this is simply fear-mongering.

I hope you’re safe and well. It’s an enormous insult to have you or any other veteran disrespected because of political affiliations and/or opinions. If that’s the case, what do we fight for? What is the reason our men and women have died in many theaters, many corners of the world?

If it’s not to defend our basic rights then we might as well pack it up now.

You’re a brave woman. And though, I’ve never been a member of the military [my husband was], I salute you as an ordinary but grateful citizen.

    Thank you for your service.

  • EmptyCheapSuit

    Who is he running against?

  • Yo

Dear Patsy: All I can say is WOW! That kind of deep reasoning and understanding is what makes our country great. Individuals who don’t dwell on their immigrant or slave past but who grab the brass ring and start making something of themselves embody the greatness of the human spirit and America is the country that provides the chance for anyone to excel and leave their old world behind.

Your ability to see past the facade the DNC and Obama have used to create a fake movement displays a real depth of insight. Yes, we can take comfort in the fact that Obama will lose the GE because he is not one of us and never will be. His followers do not belive he can be a mere mortal but the Messiah that his brainwashed cult has been waiting for. They expect their Messiah to fix everything that is wrong in this country including themselves. What a delusional pack of wolves they are.

This is a good point and something that always turned me off. Obama using a racial legacy he was never part of to ingratiate himself to liberal elites was tacky. It presents an incoherent and unbelievable narrative, and I think in the end, it’s as bad as Edwards using his dead son and his wife’s cancer to score political points. Maybe there is a design to these events being laid out right now, if anyone cares to examine them. I am a believer in omens, and the signs concerning Obama are not encouraging. Many of his supporters have met with misfortune, his publicity stunts backfire, and the world events that test the character of a leader are showing that he cannot handle the responsibility of being the President. Thank you for your essay, Sgt. Patsy. There is a very slight chance Hillary may get the nom, and I hope people in the black community can support her in that event. You’re courageous.

  • Gabriele Droz

Obama is a wanna-be black owned by white corporate interests. That’s all. Too bad the black community and the guilt-ridden white community fail to see that.

I got my absentee ballot for my state (Washington) elections a week ago Saturday and dropped it in the USPS box last Monday. I am actually paranoid enough to think it might get stolen and never counted, thus my need to drop it directly into a postal service box.

I voted straight Republican down the whole ticket (governor, congressman, and everything else).

I think our Dem governor is going to lose this time around as she won last time by only 100 votes and there was recount after recount. There was a lot of talk about a corrupt election and I think this time things are not going to go her way. Yes, she endorsed ObooHoo and I decided then that I would vote the woman out. I’ll know on August 20th if I along with thousands of others were effective.

WHAT were his RESULTS? I have yet to learn. But he’s running for president.

Obam has to paint a very bleak picture of the present to make people desperate enough to vote for him. He has to talk about our darkest moments in history, tie them to his run, communicate a sense of urgency of near apocalyptic proportions and sell Americans on the idea of him as a savior. That’s why people tease him about having a messianic complex and sounding like Neo from the Matrix while on the campaign stump. Otherwise no one would vote for a first-term US Senator with no ideas or real world experience.

  • Wisewoman

I know how the good Sgt feels. I am a 63 yr old AA female who actually marched with King and others in MS in the 60′s. We marched for the right to vote, for equal rights and for America to rise up and be what she could and should be. As young people we were marching for a cause not for a man. Obama’s stoogies are working for an AA celebrity to become president. Because of their racial tactics, they have set back America for decades. I am so angry at this turn of events. Did we risk our lives for this cause only to have a race-baiting phony destroy our work? I am incensed and furious that black leaders did not stand up to tell the truth about Obama. I will never, ever vote for Obama and I WILL REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!!

  • Deborah C

You state that he carelessly misstated history. I disagree. I believe it did it deliberately, and was counting on the fact that many of his ‘disciples’ are under the age of 30 and would have little knowledge of history and would not catch him in a lie. He wasn’t counting on us old timers to actually watch it and call him on it.

You could say he was ignorant of the truth, but to watch him strut and sway as he gave the speech and elicit the amens, it was obvious to me that he was lying intentionally.

To me, he was insulting the intelligence of black people, assuming the group he was addressing would not know when Selma occurred.

[ADMINISTRATOR NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE REAL STEVE DIAMOND. THIS IS AN IMPOSTER.]

If you take the Obama campaign at its word, the contention that there is a relationship between Bill Ayers and Barack Obama is “phony,” “tenuous,” a “stretch.” In Obama’s own words, Ayers was “just a guy who lives in my neighborhood,” certainly not a long time close political ally.

But a review of just the publicly known highlights of the Ayers-Obama relationship suggests a twenty year pattern of connections between the two.

For what it’s worth, at Hillary rallies and events, I was in the company of so many wonderful people from the AA community as well — you are not alone, although the MSM and others, as you pointed out, make it seem that way. One rally I attended truly looked like the rainbow coalition, all ages, all ethnicities, gay, straight, Independents, even a few Republicans for Hillary. Everybody standing there could have given you ten good reasons why they support her.

I’ve admired Powell since he worked and served during the Bush “I” adminstration. He also wrote a book and people were lined up 3-deep and two blocks long for the book signings.

He definitely had “across the aisle” appeal. Strong, capable, and able to express himself clearly and with passion. What’s not to like?

But he didn’t want it, his wife was against the idea and . . . he didn’t want it. I think this is the sort of job you need a fire in belly because despite all the hype, it is a job that eats people alive. Those with clay feet should stay home.

A lot of people would have gladly, proudly voted for Powell. A missed opportunity but it was his choice. I don’t think I’m alone–you would have seen a migration from the Dems to vote, not for Party, but for the man. Quite a man, too.

Dan, you and everybody else have to understand that the black community’s expectations are different than many people assume or acknowledge. When you’re convinced that nobody really has your best interests at heart, skin color can be a powerful determinant. Politicians have historically used this voting bloc for their own ends, paid lip service to their needs and abandoned them. Therefore, they expect nothing more from Obama while still hoping that maybe he’ll be different. These lowered expectations are a double-edged sword, however, because of them, many African Americans will simply not be any more inclined to vote at all this year than in any other. So Obama may get an overwhelming percentage of black voters, but the actual number of eligible blacks who vote might not be as large as he hopes.

The Dem Governor is a DINO — and she was on the Obama wagon very early.

Therefore this DINO does not get my vote — and I hope she loses — at least the primary. I can’t stand Rossi — but I WILL NOT vote for a traitor.

It was the democratic leadership of Washington that decided to use the caucus and throw out the results of the Primary — AFTER we the voters voted for a primary (and paid for a primary).

I absolutely agree with everything in your post. I don’t even argue with other AA’s now because they are completely ignorant of any facts about Obama. Myself, I’ve had problems all along with the start up financing, his claim to be an American black and the facts that he voted for that energy bill and the no vote for caps on interest. I’ve always thought that he was a Republican plant in the Dem party. His recent votes ( FISA, Faith based initiatives, etc.) have solidified my beliefs. It’s about time someone challenged these so-called black leaders for their silence on Barak. They know exactly who he is. It’s amazing how they have allowed the black vote to now be coupled with that of “progressives”. These people are all ex-republicans. They do not have true Democratic values yet they claim to be the real dems. This is okay as far as “black leadership” is concerned. Their actions can only mean that they too are at the trough. It is what it is though,..disgusting. I stand with the PUMAs. You and them will find that there are many other AA’s that will never vote for Barack. I know I won’t.

At the Univ. of Chicago Obama taught a seminar in “Current Issues in Racism and the Law” which included extensive readings on the Civil Rights movement. He knows very well when the march on Selma was.

Good article. There are so many good points you brought up. If Hillary becomes his VP, I will have a conniption fit. It would be the worst political move (on her part) that could ever be possible. I would sincerely resent the fact that I would have to vote against her. I’m anxious about it.

As far as Selma, I have watched the youtube clip of his speech: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9r-XG_VJZDw&feature=related

I was really shocked when I learned of this horrendous lie–especially because he disrespected black history–American history–OUR HISTORY and interjected OBAMA; he just shoved himself right into someplace he never belonged …just so irreverent. The black people getting inspired, feeling moved, standing up and clapping–believing his LIES is so upsetting. I’d believe him if I was sitting there…who the hell would LIE so big? I got into a debate with an Obama supporter outside of the internet over this and it got heated. I just think it’s disgusting to play black people like he did in that youtube video, and hardly anyone called him on it. That was during the time when he always sounded like a preacher, remember? What a fraud.

I think there should be a 527 ad about Selma, as well as Ayers, et al. I hope he gets rocked.

“Does he highlight going to school in Hawaii? Or that he had loving grandparents who raised him? Hell, no.”

NO, why would he want to talk about all that? Loses him street cred he accumulated in Chicago. That took a lot fo work!

Life is tough for everyone, but really, growing up on a tropical island, going to a private school, with mainly upper-class white kids, and being raised by white grandparents, particularly a grandma who was the VP of a bank…c’mon. So I will continue to be a Republican Dead Ender Puma Kitty Hillary Nigger Troll who gets hate mail and threats, I wear the title as proudly as the flag on my right shoulder. I would rather stand for something than to stand for nothing at all.

    You go, sister!

Love this blog, I just wished I had a stomach for politicking. The more I read about Hillary losing to that two-bit creep Obama, and the possibility McInsane can be the next president, the more I want to find a cave to sleep in for 4 years. Totally blocked out Obama and the screed that follows him, as I’m sick of the outright lies he based his campaign upon.

And to think Edwards came across as the clean guy. If he had such dirty laundry, OBABA must be up to his eyeballs in filth.

Simply sick of dirty politics. Sick, sick, sick of it.
