First of all, it gets under Obama's skin -- Obama has demonstrated an inability to react appropriately to criticism in public, and its not unlikely that he'll screw up at some point as a result. But the big reason is that when the criticism of McCain's ads reach a critical mass, the McCain campaign can respond with an ad saying "hey, we know people are annoyed with those ads, but unfortunately, its impossible to criticize his record because he has no experience, and impossible to criticize his positions because he waffles and flip-flops so often by the time you've made an ad, he's changed his position!" Anyway, the whole video was just an excuse to pummel people with images of McCain with Bush. His "McCain is Bush's third term" narrative is all he's got.
