UPDATE: Besides the anti-gay Mark Warner, Obama’s people have added Bob Casey to the now-overcrowded Tuesday night line-up: “Anti-abortion senator to speak to Democrats.” Are you kidding me? They have added an anti-choice senator to the now over-crowded Tuesday night, and squeezing Hillary’s MOMENT more and more? This means that Michelle Obama has a more prominent speaking slot than does Hillary. UPDATE 2: Casey is speaking in the afternoon. Only Hillary and Mark Warner will speak at night. Still …

Sen. Hillary Clinton will be one of four speakers on Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention.

The convention keynote speaker, who will also be speaking Tuesday, has just been announced. It’s former Governor Mark Warner.

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Obama’s rival during the Democratic presidential primaries, is also scheduled to speak that night, Aug. 26. But Warner is being given the plum position, according to an e-mail that Obama campaign adviser Mike Henry sent to Virginia supporters late Tuesday.

Other newly announced speakers: Michelle Obama’s brother will introduce her on Monday night. Nancy Pelosi, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper and Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill, will also speak Monday. …

Each night has a “theme.” Oh boy. Just like prom night!

Monday’s theme? “One Nation.”

Why not “One Nation Indivisible”?

Oh well.

      I have read that she was always in his shadow. He easily got into an Ivy League school whereas she was told her test scores were not good enough.

            This baby was aborted because of Downs Syndrome. Jerome Corsi told this story last night on Hannity. The body had been thrown into a closet of dirty towels when the nurse found it.

                  Why should abortion be an issue for Democrats? It has always been part of the platform and I will defend a woman’s right to chose when the subject is brought up by someone else. I have heard other similar stories that turned out to be lies perpetrated for political agendas. I have been on this site for months and have never hesitated to express my opinion about anything. Third trimester abortions are rare and not done without consultation. They are not done because a fetus has Downs syndrome. They are done only when the health of the mother is involved and no one takes it lightly. I believe the majority of posters here have the same purpose, to do our best to see that Hillary is the nominee of the Democratic Party. Not to elect McCain and a right wing agenda. I am willing to vote for him for my own reasons and I didn’t bring this subject up, but I don’t believe this story. Period.

                    It’s true and since my sister lives in Chicago, I have known this story for a very long time. Obama, along with 5 other senate members in the IL senate voted to allow these babies to die. He said the baby should be allowed to expire since the woman, in contracting for an abortion, had “contracted” for a dead baby. I saw the documents on another webite and National Right to Life also has the info and has posted it. Obama lied about this issue too when he denied he had voted as he did. They have him dead to rights on this one.

            He wasn’t speaking lies of the procedure..The abortion didn’t work… The baby was thrown in with the towels and sheets,and left to die..A nurse picked it up and held it for 8 or 9 hours,until it died…It was born with Downs Syndrome… I know children with downs,and they are happy children ,and this baby deserved to live,and be cared for..Obama’s thinks this kind of child is still a fetus…..Read the book,or Listne to Hannity and Colmes last nite.           He was only one of two people in the entire senate and congress that opposed that bill, even NARAL approved of it. If I remember it correctly he said, “Infants that survive their late term abortions are not afforded the same constitution rights.” I have had three premature infants. I now have 7 beautiful grandchildren from those non-viable human beings.

          I almost died when I read the committee records on that. Leave the infants stored in a linen room till they die. How many days does it take an infant to starve to death that doesn’t require oxygen at birth? Because they have no constitutional rights? WTH is that?

          He held it up in committee for over 2 years before someone on the committee brought it forward, how many infants were left during that time? I always try to stay on top of late term abortion issues because all my children were born premature.

          I’m not so foolish as to know there are not times for them, like with my daughter who’s child died inside of her. I would never have forced her to carry her infant for four more months. It almost killed her when she found out, then when she had to carry the baby for almost two weeks till they could get her in for surgery. I insisted upon a hospital setting, not a clinic, or doctors office because I didn’t want her to have to face down any protesters. I probably would have rung anyone’s neck that got in her way. I know she would have. I almost didn’t think we were going to even get her in the hospital door.

          Now I hear there will be an anti-abortionist speaking at the convention. So first he wants to leave viable infants in a soiled linen closet when we have infants weighing less than a pound surviving today, now he has an anti-abortionist speaking…From the Boston Globe:

              Well, Ivy League schools do not offer athletic scholarships, but they do find other scholarships to get around that rule, beebop.

              That may be what AC was referring to. Princeton is a D1 school and competes against scholarship programs, so there are incentives for gifted athletes to attend that may not qualify for merit scholarships…

              My daughter is a collegiate athlete and I know a little about this. Anyway, DIII schools are the same, no athletic scholarships, but academic, leadership, and other various $cholarships can be found to help a student athlete attend those schools (MIT score 700 on both verbal and math on SAT = consideration for volleyball team)

      the destruction of the Clintons was an Obama aim, afraid to a
      near certainty. This is conclusive evidence. Obama, unless he is selecting Hillary as his VP running mate, Bill to introduce her
      at the convention, is an exceptionally insecure individual with
      no self-confidence. Otherwise he would find a way to use the
      massive abilities of the Clintons to accomplish what’s needed
      for the nation. Hillary as VP is probably a ruse to keep the Clintons frozen in place until it is to late. The Clintons must be ready to blow that convention wide open if Hillary isn’t named VP running mate before her speech. ( VP is not that great but I don’t want to argue that point now except that to

      forget them. They will be done for. They should walk out and take as many delegates with them as they can and, perhaps, begin the formation of a new third party. Let
      Obama and the DP make whatever pathetic complaint they want- they make me nauseous anyway. OK, I don’t think

      will accept their humiliation and go on to whatever they go
      on to. Then lookout for hard times no matter the victors on

            The more I think about this, the less likely I think it is the case. As Machiavellian as such a twist would be, trying to tie our hands and putting an anchor around Hillary with the possibility of defeat, I just don’t see his ego being able to deal with her as his VP. He knows she would outshine him, and I think he and his inner circle are too arrogant to admit that he needs her. Put that together with a base that he whipped up to really despise the Clintons, and I’m talking myself out of thinking that he is planning to nominate her.

            At least, I’m hoping he does not nominate her…

              Perhaps the Democrats see the writing on the wall and know that some brewing scandal is going to force Obama to withdraw. So to prevent civil unrest and minimize the damage to their replacement candidate, they are going to nominate Obama with Hillary as VP and get out of Denver in one piece.

              That’s a bit of wishful thinking on my part. But if it’s not the case and they are just taking the limelight off Hillary so Obama won’t be upstaged, then they will lose bigtime. Obama will be pulverized in the GE.

    The more disrespectful he is to her, the more infuriated her voters become — and I am including crossover Republicans and Independent voters in this, too. Many have indicated their disgust to me and their great upset at not being able to vote for Hillary.

      I used the word ‘preclude’ above, but meant it as traditional, not prohibited.

      I downloaded the charter and bylaws of the DNC and see nothing regarding who can or cannot speak at the Convention.

      Interestingly, though, I did see this little paragraph, which makes me wonder if what was reported by Uppity here yesterday http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/08/13/a-sign-that-the-dnc-and-the-one-are-channeling-stalin has legal ramifications:

      Article 2: National Convention
      Section 4. The National Convention shall be composed of delegates equally divided between men and
      women. The delegates shall be chosen through processes which:

      (b) assure that delegations fairly reflect the division of preferences expressed by those who
      participate in the Presidential nominating process,

      Article 9: General Provisions
      Section 10. The Democratic Party shall not require a delegate to a Party convention or caucus to cast
      a vote contrary to his or her expressed preference.

      So how is it that the DNC is getting away with replacing delegates that are still expressing their desire to cast a vote for Senator Clinton?

        I have been commenting about the legality of this for months now. I even posed the question to gurus Pelosi and the DNC and never got a reply. Asked it of Fienstein. She never answered. I want to know if the rules state Hillary can be included in a roll call/ballot how is it Obama can go against the rules and replace her delegates with his supporters? Which we know for a fact is happening because private emails were sent to a newspaper from a senator, and Obama’s camp apologized for the language in them. Not for replacing her delegates with his supporters. Where has Democracy gone in the Democratic Party?

          It looks like a complaint could be filed with the FEC on this issue. That’s the only recourse outside of the corrupt circle inside the DNC that appears to be available, and I’m not 100% sure that option is truly viable, else I would think one of the ousted delegates would choose it…

              I was wrong about the FEC. After some more searches, the only jurisdiction the FEC seems to have is over campaign financing issues.

              I don’t know what entity outside of the DNC, if any, can hear complaints about the DNC.

              I suppose if such a thing could have happened, it would have, after the May 31 Rules Committee decision.

She won 62% of the vote in 2006, and that was not all votes from NYC. Besides, the way Obama has been acting I’m not so sure he has all of the NYC vote anymore.     For example, PUMA, did you know your hero Larry Sinclair was on the Hal Turner Radio Show last month? Yes, that Hal Turner the former head of the Aryan Nation.

    He’s not the only NQ contributor to have neo-nazi sympathies. According to Joseph Cannonfire, Techdude and Texas Darlin both have some periphery affiliations with neo-nazi websites.

    Now Cannon includes all of the necessary caveats and benefits of the doubt, but he has some circumstantial evidence. The pattern of NQ the past few months has not been exactly to demand absolute proof.

    What I really want to know is this, Hillary supporters: How did you become so blind in your hatred towards Obama you are willing to consort with neo-nazis in order to smear him? Is this what Hillary wants? Is this what “feminism” is all about?

    When Michelle Obama is allowed to be called “Queen Kong” and a “transvestite” on your website, and NO ONE on NQ says shit, what am I as a reader suppose to think of your intentions? Is that advancing the cause of feminism? When Obama’s dead parents and infirmed grandmother are called wicked, vile, horrible names, what are we suppose to think? When debbie disagreed with another NQ poster, Joe, yesterday, she was told to “get on her knees and open her mouth!”. Ah, very progressive Joe. And of course, no “feminists” came to debbie’s defense because, hey she’s just a troll.

    I know there are many of you who are only here to voice your support for Hillary and will under no circumstances vote for Obama. Fine. We got it. There are many choices on the ballot this year, and I encourage you to vote for the candidate who you feel best reflects your vision for America.

      I honestly have no idea who he will choose, but every single person that has been floated thus far pretty much sucks, and doesn’t “complement” him in any meaningful way–and he needs a LOT of that.

      You can figure that he’ll pick someone from a state he REALLY wants to win. He’d be better off just picking a well known southern cracker with executive experience–the Democratic candidate tends to win when there’s someone with a drawl on the ticket (JFK and Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Clinton-Gore). When they (I’m trying to get used to that THEY thing, it used to be WE) go all heartland or either coast in picking candidates, they fuck themselves.

    If there is a floor vote for the nomination, Hillary cannot speak at all except for the nomination. So the point of her being a keynote speaker is a mute point right now, because the DNC rules do not permit a candidate for nomination to speak anytime prior to the nomination speeches before the floor vote.

    I tend to think that it is one of two things. Either Hillary is the VP pick or her name is going into nominations. Anything else is sheer madness. They have been in negotiations on the agenda and everything coming out of Denver was someting to the effect that Tuesday was all Hillary Clinton and Wednesday night was the “big dawg”. To change it now, if Hillary is not the VP pick, would further anger the Hillary supporters beyond repair. I can not even quess which of the two it might be, but hope it is her name going into nomination!

        I agree with you Firefly. Even if Hillary’s name is “allowed” to be put in nomination, it will all just be theater. They have engineered this election for months, they are not going to permit a genuine floor vote. We have watched their corrupt tactics, and they are certainly not going to suddenly wake up now. The whole bunch has got to go (Dean, Pelos, Brazile, BO, etc.) I wouldn’t trust anything they do at this point.

        As far as HRC not speaking. I’m not at all surprised. BO can’t stand being upstaged. And God forbid he chooses her as VP. I haven’t seen any wisdom or humility in his choices thus far, so I don’t expect him to realize he needs her. I hope not. I want to see him sink like a stone.

        I saw my first NOBAMA bumper sticker today. I beeped and we waived and cheered together. Felt good.

Today Senator McCain was caught not once but several times during a town hall meeting usings patented Obama sayings that has raised some eyebrows of McCain attempting to follow Obama’s magical formula for speeches. McCain’s use on more than one occassion, 3 occassions were counted, of McCain using err, umm and ahh when responding to questions was a direct attempt to be more Obama like, even though McCain barely used these terms, limiting it to only a couple of times, unlike Obama’s patented 20+ times in a single sentence, is still considered by Obamabots as McCain attempting to copy Obama.

    Sorry to disappoint all the trolls, but nothing regarding the convention is set in stone until Hillary makes an announcement she is not seeking a floor vote.

    Although the Bamarama campaign is attempting to control the entire proceedings, Hillary holds the trump card on it.

    Even the VP nomination on the Weds is not etched in stone, because there is no VP nomination or election at the DNP convention before a Presidential nominee is confirmed and if Hillary demands a floor vote, then there is no Presidential nominee thus the usual automatic election of a VP nominee holds no water.

    From the reports of Hillary NOT having the Tuesday night keynote speaking slot speaks volumes that there is no agreement of Hillary allowing Bambi to walk into the nomination freely.

    The decission by Hillary is required to be made by 6PM Tuesday night of the convention, so won’t it be fun to watch Michelle tell America again how proud she is and bla bla bla and Hillary take the thunder the following night!

    I had an argument with someone about Hillary’s speech. I said that Obama would make certain her speech was a tiny part of the convention and not a keynote speech. I see the DNC and Obama didn’t surprise me! Ugh! It is horrible that Hillary played the unity game since her campaign has been so belittled.

    Even worse is anti-gay Warner and Pro-life Casey. Casey is a shot in the foot….Obama will never get the religious right or Catholics because his beliefs don’t jive with Casey’s…..wtf! this will not happen.     Predictions Please-

    Its looking less and less like the press will do its job (surprise!)and more and more like Obama will get his crown.

    So lets hear predictions of what will happen next if Obama is crowned Miss America in Denver.

    I think after the convention-Obama’s lead will continue to steadily crumble as people just get sick of him and his increasingly stale message. Every hit song has a shelf life and Obama’s “Message of Hope” is starting to sound like elevator muzac.

    Despite this the media will continue to declare him the likely winner-but at some point between the convention and the election, after people just cant take another syrupy patronizing speech, there will come a psychological tipping point where people will realize, “Oh, my God, he’s going to lose”.

    At that point his support will really crumble and McCain will win the election, if not with a landslide, at least with a comfortable lead.

    Since all the leadership is implicated in pushing this goof on us-there will be no firings of incompetents, no mea culpa’s,and everyone at the DNC will agree that somehow it was Hillary’s fault that she did not manage to drag Obama over the finish line.

      Maybe you should consider the possibility that he hasn’t actually done all of the things he’s been accused of. Taken together, doesn’t it all seem a least a little bit improbable?

      Just this past week we’ve learned that the conservative right has been subjecting Department of Justice job applicants to a political screening process for several years now. You can pretty much count on the fact that there’s no plot in the DoJ to cover up Obama’s indiscetions or illegal activities. Similarly, if the FOX network had any credible information about such wrong-doing on Obama’s part, they’d be running the story 24/7.

      Here…this is the passage I am talking about in the Democrat platform:

      “We believe that standing up for our country means standing up against sexism and all intolerance. Demeaning portrayals of women cheapen our debates, dampen the dreams of our daughters, and deny us the contributions of too many. Responsibility lies with us all.”

      How can the Dems allow the misogynist Craig Robinson to speak at Obama’s coronation when he is guilty of breaking one of their own platform stances?

      That’s why I ain’t a Dem anymore.

      I wonder where the Obamabot’s outrage is over that statement by Robinson. I guess all of Oblahblah’s relatives are above criticism, too. Wow, we get a ready-made royal family to go with the Emperor and his new clothes.

    I am with you guys about much of this but it is JOHN Warner from VA who voted against gay marriage, not Mark Warner, also from VA. Mark Warner is gay-friendly. We don’t want to inadvertently slander anyone on this site! Thnx.
