Senator Clinton should pick a vice presidential nominee because in an honest convention she has as much chance of winning the nomination as he does. And I know she has more chance of winning the election that he does.

1. Race.
2. Gender.

Racism can appear in one of 3 key ways:

1(a). Overt racist attacks alluding to stereotypes about blacks such as inferiority, crime, sexuality, and so on. A prime example of this is the Willie Horton ads of 1988.

1(b). Unfair attacks that stick will invariably lead to whites seeing Obama in that “OJ archetype”, if you will. When the unfair attacks stick, and people see Obama as corrupt, than they will subconsciously associate his corruption with his skin color. This is the “race subtext” argument which Obama and his black supporters have been cravenly abusing, including the likes of Donna Brazille who actually used the exact term.
—However, if the attacks are fair, (for Obama is total conman who himself race-baits incessantly), then they are fair and there is NOTHING racist about them, i.e. anyone can call OJ a murderer, since it is true. Doing so is NOT racist, b’coz OJ is a murderer. (Of course, comparing a black person or black people in general to OJ is downright racist. Recall Jesse Jackson Jr. was the idiot who racebaited by comparing Obama to OJ back in January.)

1 (c). Unfair & hypocritical treatment. Yes, the corporate media which greedily jumped headlong into helping Obama race-bait the Clintons were themselves constantly race-baiting Obama. The Jeremiah Wright coverage was unfair w.r.t. why McCain and the GOP routinely get off so easily when it comes to their crazy white preachers.

(Note: It was more than fair for Hillary to attack Obama over Wright, since she has no pastor problem of her own. Moreover, that racist jerk Wright personally attacked her and Bill the in most scurrilous way in a tax exempt church, which is ILLEGAL. Even then, she barely did it–and certainly no where even remotely close to what Obama did with Geraldine Ferraro, who was so right on so many levels to begin with!)

1. There were tons of overtly sexist remarks made by members of corporate media, the GOP and of course Obama, “The Kitchen Sink strategy”, “she’s throwing dishes, the frying pan, the kitchen sink at me… [parapharasing]“, “Hillary’s Tanya Harding strategy”… There’s tons more, and it would take forever to list them all!

2. There were grotesque double standards, hypocrisy, etc. “She’s so ambitious!” “What does Hillary want?” “What is Hillary up to?” Talk about loaded questions! These loaded questions inherently implied she is corrupt and ambitious.

Why is this NEVER asked of the men? Obama is running for Prez as a Freshman Senator with virtually nothing on his resume. Obama and McCain were each telling one whopper after another; Obama was always flip-flopping left and right, up and down like a rag doll in the middle of a hurricane. Yet is was Hillary that was pegged as not trust worthy. Hillary told one whopper over Tuzla, and the corporate media made a federal case out of it. Yet any idiot can go to YouTube and find tons of footage of Obama and McCain repeatedly contradicting themselves. Obama of course was exaggerating and embellishing his pathetic list of accomplishments, and was never called for them.

Without question, McCain is a much bigger liar than Hillary. And Obama is the biggest liar since Bush–at least as BIG.

3. The “gender subtext”: If Hillary really is corrupt, then attacks on her are totally fair. But if the attacks are unfair–which they of course were about 90% of the time, or hypocritical much less blatantly sexist, then what makes Hillary different from others, i.e men, is also what makes her corrupt, i.e. her gender. “That fucking cunt is a liar!” A close friend of mine actually said this to me. Naturally, I told him to go fuck himself. We’re still close friends, LOL.

It’s truly amazing how African Americans relentlessly miscite the archetypal “race subtext” argument, but conveniently overlook the corresponding “gender subtext” argument. It was none other than Obama and themselves who were mercilessly practicing not just gender-baiting, but race-baiting–as well as character assassination.

Not sure if anyone noticed but Matthews was on Leno about 2-3 weeks ago. Leno asked him about his statement that Obama’s (vacuous) speeches sent “chills” up his leg, a comment for which Matthews has taken a lot of heat for from the rightwing. Naturally, that tin horn of an opportunist who is about to run for the US Senate in Pennsylvania pulled a bait-n-switch. Leno’s question was about media objectivity. Matthews quickly spun it into–yep, you guessed it: PATRIOTISM. [paraphrasing] “I’m a passionate guy. I feel it deeply. I root for us, for our country. I’m not one to just sit there and not root for America!”

I’m sure she massages her ego and vanity by feeling superior to Hillary because of Bill’s indiscretions. But the nature of intimacy and relationships leave people vulnerable to human fraility. At the end of her life, she’ll have no one who will care one iota about her mean-spiritedness and she’ll wish she had even a cheating spouse who was at least a caring companion and true friend.

What burns me is that people get paid lucrative sums to be so shitty.

There’s something wrong with that and it’s not helping our society one bit.

I accidentally posted these comments under the wrong blog subject, so I’m posting them again here where they belong:

There was someone else at that table. His name is God. And God had the last word, not those “experts”.

Tim is dead. The life of the emperor of the reporters was taken from him by God. God had the last say – and He agrees with the Clintons…
only it’s not the voters who were sexist… it was the reporters and their pretend experts.

Tim didn’t get to see the reporters’ messiah get coronated. Let that be a lesson for the other reporters of how God judged their prejudice, their influence peddling, their interference and saboutage of a democracy to satisfy their greed for ratings, their expressed resentment and hatred and belittlement of women.

Tim no longer served God’s purpose. And if the best reporter failed Him, and was no longer needed or trusted to reveal truth on earth, imagine how useless He thinks the others are.

The reporters and their experts say that there was no crime committed by them? The least guilty of them got the death penalty. I’d say that the judgement of God prevailed, despite all their rationalizations of innocence.

Here are a couple of choices for VP for Hillary:

1. U.S. Senator Evan Bayh

Senator Bayh’s signature legislative efforts are aimed at strengthening our national security, creating more jobs through the growth of small businesses, protecting American workers from unfair trade practices, providing tax-relief for families struggling with the rising costs of college. Bayh has taken the lead in providing our troops with the armored vehicles they need and has visited Iraq and Afghanistan several times for a first-hand look at the progress on-the-ground. He has also led the fight to cut through the mire of bureaucracy to ensure our nation’s wounded soldiers receive the high quality care they need and deserve.

2. Govenor Jim Doyle of Wisconsin

When he took office in 2003, Governor Doyle inherited the largest budget deficit in Wisconsin history – a $3.2 billion hole. By making deep and often difficult cuts in state government, he was able to balance the budget without hurting priorities like education and without raising taxes.

Governor Doyle’s parents were founding members of the modern Democratic Party in Wisconsin and he credits them for instilling in him the belief that politics and government are honorable professions, and that public service is a way to improve people’s lives.

Governor Doyle attended Stanford University for three years, then finished his senior year at UW-Madison. He is a 1972 graduate of Harvard Law School. Inspired by John F. Kennedy’s call to public service, after college the Governor and First Lady worked for two years as teachers in Tunisia, Africa in the Peace Corps. After he graduated from law school, the Governor and First Lady moved to the Navajo Indian Reservation in Chinle, Arizona to work as an attorney and teacher, respectively.

He was elected as Wisconsin’s Governor in 2002 and reelected in 2006 with more votes than any candidate for Governor in Wisconsin history.

That was a mouthful, mimi. Have felt that way since Reagan took office…definitely since the first time I heard Lardass Limbaugh.

Wow! I could only make it through about one third of that video. Val, I think Dowd knows on some level she can only continue her career if she hatchet job on Hillary. There is a post down thread from mimi and I agree with her sentiments re. Russert and Dowd. Ten years from now, they will be forgotten by everyone except, maybe, their families. They will not even be a footnote in history books because they are recognized for being exactly who they are/were. They have never taken a chance or gone out on a limb for truth. Edward R. Murrow will be remembered forever in journalism schools as someone who put his life on the line by telling the truth and, then, everyone saw it (like the naked emperor) and ended the reign of terror of Joe McCarthy. Walter Cronkite saw the truth of Vietnam and had the courage to speak out. Nothing and no one disgusts me, however, in the media as much as K. Olbermann because he dares to invoke the name of a courageous man at the end of every show and I wouldn’t watch again if it were the only news show on. Mathews spits, literally, in everyone’s face and pretends to be an honorable man all the while surrounding himself with people who agree with his point of view and deriding anyone who dares to question his veracity and mania. This election has clearly demonstrated the lack of free and objective press in this country and everyone needs to pay attention now and through whatever means they can, boycott these programs and their advertizers until they are forced off the air.
