China vs Russia

My information from best source is that the explanation for why Russia remains reluctant to cooperate on the UN Security Council with stern sanctions on the Tehran Twelvers is that Russia must now concern itself with the China threat in the energy neighborhood.

China has moved into Islamabad; China has moved into Tehran; China is moving into Baghdad and Amman and Damascus.

China’s appetite is for energy and natural resources in order to continue to grow its imperial reach and defenses. China is the hungry predator and no concern for border wars or nuke threats will turn China away from its grab of allies and clients along the Silk Road to the Med and across the Gulf to Sub-Sahara Africa.

The Bamboo Curtain now falls across Central Asia.  Why is Ahmadinejad increasingly confident of his survival?  Because Beijing endorses the status quo ante of rogue states.

Why does Russia also aim to keep Tehran in place?  Because it remains a wedge between the Jihadists of the Gulf and the vulnerable Moslem population of Central Asia that surrounds the energy fields.  China and Russia in a contest for Tehran’s favors and approval.

Spoke to Leslie Hook, AWSJ,re the Beijing jailing of Tan Zuoren for five years.

His crime?  Tan Zuoren was trying to compile a list of the estimated 5600 children killed in the May 2008 earthquake in Sichuan Province when their shoddy school buildings collapsed on them at class.   The Beijing CP is so frightened of its own people that the court claimed Tan was sentenced for participating in some fashion in a memorial of the banned talk of the 1989 Tiannamen Square protest.

Beijing fears the existence of the name of the dead children, because it would be a reminder of the kleptocracy that created those death trap schools and the gangster official in Sichuan and Beijing who profited form the contracts.

    Very good Batchelor. I understood your points very well. Now I don’t know if you would admit after saying all that that China is a very smart country, much much smarter than the U.S. And Russia is a very smart country too.

    And figure this out, at what rate does the U.S. makes mistakes, many of them fatal mistakes versus the rate Russia and China make mistakes? Can you compare rates of mistakes.

    And with reference to China’s obsession with encarcerating children advocates. I am sensing that you are upset about that, no? Why? Am I sensing that you are advocating another form of government for some or all of China provinces. Because you know what’s best for the Chinese.

    Instead I would rather ask you about something much closer to you. Americans. Do you see or not see any correlation between how China treats children advocates with how Haiti treats 10 Idaho Baptist Americans? Just asking? Do you advocate another form of government for Haiti.

    If China doctor’s offices are dirty – that is if China is dirty, aren’t Haitian doctor’s offices even more dirty – that is the Haitian government. After all you can’t even get clean water in Haiti. No?

Those reports that you used to gather the information you have about Russia and China’s adventures in the Middle East and about China’s advocacy suppression, do they come from sources that are trying their best to present the stories without characterizing the actors?

    Don’t you think CNN deserves a Pulitzer prize for their coverage of the 10 Idaaho Baptist Americans? I would like to ask you if you could promote the idea that CNN deserve a Pulitzer prize for their excellence in journalism. After all, Obama got a Nobel Prize for his work promoting peace.

    Dear Mr. Batchelor: Since SOS Hillary Clinton is going to visit Qatar and Saudi Arabia and is going to address the US-Islamic World Forum, tell us what it is that you would like or would be expecting Mrs. Clinton to say to the Arabs with respect to China’s and Russia’s hessitancy for sanctions against Iran’s bomb ambitions. Don’t hide behind a lame report like the lame SOS HC does behind the UN envoys. Remember this is a love and adore Hillary Clinton site. We would like to know what to expect from SOS HC at these meetings to see if she has the right stuff.

    i read the post nodding my head…the energy part pretty common sense if you own a map. the stuff about the school i had read somewhere already.
    then i got to the comments by dead lark…no idea what that person is talking about.
    wth does haiti have to do with anything?
    how does one compare a guy who was compiling a list of the dead… to a group trying to illegally take children out of a country?

    Since China and Russia have energy interests, and Iran has nuclear ambitions, I assume you mean that Israel could upset these alliances with an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Good point.

    I read that such a strike would buy Israel only some time because Iran could build them back quickly and would have even more resolve.

    The one thing that could upset this would have been the success of the Iran dissidents, but Obama was too weak to support them when they needed it most.

    What has always intrigued me was this rah-rah over the so-called end of the Cold War and the fight against the worldwide menace of Communism. So when the Berlin Wall falls we all celebrate. But what about China? We didn’t beat them did we? Now they literaly own us.

    I have read over the years since that China’s communist rulers would eventually have to shift to a more democratic form of government as part of their integration with capitalism. Doesn’t seem to be happening.

    You have to wonder what their objectives are and what their game is.

    A. Cover your head, please. We don’t want an international incident.

    B. China can have all the Saudi and Qatari oil in exchange for their Iran support.

    C. Russia can have the entire North polar region to explore for oil in exchange for their Iran support.

    D. You bring us back lots of smiles. Our problems are solved.

    neither the chinese or russians like or respect obama. he is a bumbling fool to them and they will act accordingly.

    take along look at maliki’s recent language toward ambassador hill in iraq. maliki lived in exile in iran for awhile. china recently forgave iraq’s debt. now do the math!

    I am an American and proud of being one, yet with reference to morality I have experienced and witnessed moral degradation and decadence in this culture we call America. That is based on my religious understanding of what morality is. Corruption in the financial system also makes for moral degradation and decadence. Most of what the Republicans like Rush, FoxNews, etc. criticism in radio and television is about moral degradation and decadence. The propositions of Sarah Palin is about correcting moral degradation and decadence. Obama won on a platform that said he would work to clean moral degradation and decadence. Churches open every Sunday to help contain moral degradation and decadence.

    Though Gibbs denied today that they “don’t have the capability to enrich to 20%” it makes me wonder about the past statements. I read this post by someone on another site and it hits the mark when it comes to iran in some ways, and how it was with Iraq.

    He’s right, Iran is the true reasoning they should have been worried about when bush’s team gave the bs about invasion back in 2003. Saddam’s regime was nasty yes, but was well contained in the north and south by the u.s. and nato. By the way, i found his post both humorous in the irony and truthful.
