We have his own books and words on the former and I wonder if somewhere someone might come up with a real recording of his “original” anti-war speech and not his ever-so-helpful recreation?

As is made perfectly clear by the part of the timeline you conveniently don’t quote, he lived with his separated/divorced mother for about 4 years, between the time “when he was two” (i.e., about 1963) to 1967 when she remarried. He then lived with his mother and stepfather for about 4 years before going to stay with his grandparents, and then moving on to college.

In other words, he was “raised by a single mother” for 4 years of his life, roughly equal in time to the period he spent with his mother and stepfather. He didn’t say he’d spent his entire childhood in that situation – he writes extensively in his books about his relationships with his biological father and his grandparents. But if you want to claim he was raised by his stepfather (he actually spent most of his formative years with his grandparents), it’s at least equally true he was raised by a single mother, having spent about the same amount of time in both environments.

You don’t even get the basic facts right from the text you yourself quoted: he didn’t live with his stepfather when he was four years old – his mother only married him four years after she separated from his biological father (when he was six years old), which in turn was only four years before he went to his grandparents’. That means he also didn’t “live with the dude for 6 years”, but only 4, the same length of time he had previously lived with his single mother.

Your reading comprehension is faulty, your facts are incorrect, and your comparison is lame, given that the experience you say doesn’t count is equal in time to the experience you say is definitive.

Here are ten signs of a possible floor fight:

1. No Deal: Days before the mainstream media picked up on a video of Hillary at a rally expressing her desire to be placed on the ballot for “healing purposes”, PUMA website Just Say No Deal already had it on the front page. Coincidence? Leak? Never underestimate the power of the Clintons. Previous stories had been circulating that Hillary did not want her name on the ballot. This video corrected the error.

2. Michigan: In a state Obama cannot afford to lose, much has been written these past few days concerning the ties between jailed Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and Rev. Jeremiah Wright. The timing is curious. Kilpatrick’s arrest has already been covered, but for the first time, a connection to Obama is mentioned. Apparently, some footage exists of Kilpatrick introducing Wright at a NAACP function. Racial tensions in Michigan are among the worst in the country right now and the only reason the mayor has yet to be removed from office is best explained through the words of a Detroit councilwoman: “We don’t want a white governor removing our black mayor.” How utterly post-racial. Would the Republicans stoop to use such footage against Obama this fall? Would Hillary? You’d better believe it.

3. Colorado: Recent articles have been hinting at a possible GOP plan of attack in the coming weeks: Affirmative Action to be exact. In another state the Obama campaign is hoping to capture this fall, a civil rights initiative is being placed on the ballot that would basically put an end to preferential treatment to minorities. McCain supports it (just as he supports the initiative on the Arizona ballot) while Obama is firmly against it. Prohibition against discrimination? Why, that’s racist! No conspiracy theories here, but Obama should have fun explaining to the folks in Colorado exactly why equality is such a “divisive” issue. More Hillary ammunition just now getting some MSM coverage. She’s jotting this down in her notebook now.

4. The Leaked Hillary Memos: Just as Obama is gathering national attention for stalling in the polls in the year of the Democrats, the Clinton campaign seems to have misplaced about 200 memos calling Obama unelectable “except against Attila the Hun”, and it just so happens that Andrew Sullivan of Atlantic Monthly has found them. Lucky for the campaign, the memos didn’t fall into the wrong hands… like the New York Times.

5. “I Am Not a Racist”: John McCain may have cracked open the door when he accused the Obama campaign of playing the Race Card every five minutes against any and all opposition, but Bill Clinton kicked it through the wall by verifying that he too was a victim. Doesn’t exactly sound like a party loyalist to me. Still bitter? Try pissed.

6. Howard Wolfson: Hillary’s faithful attack dog comes out of the woodwork with this quote in reference to the mainstream media suppressing the Edwards scandal: “I believe we would have won Iowa, and Clinton today would therefore have been the nominee,” former Clinton Communications Director Howard Wolfson told ABCNews. Now what was the point of making that comment? Has his final paycheck not cleared? Or is he still on the payroll? Hmm.

7. Edwards Scandal/MSM Backlash: This may not be directly damaging to Obama, but with voters slowly beginning to realize that the mainstream media has been withholding damaging evidence against preferred Democratic candidates, one might suspect that there are untapped stories about Obama as well. Considering that Raila Odinga and ethnic cleansing in Kenya has yet to be brought to national attention, their suspicions would be correct. Surely, both Hillary and McCain are aware of this by now.

8. Primetime Convention Speeches: Bill and Hillary have landed two of the hottest primetime spots of the convention. Now, I may be stretching a bit here, but didn’t Bill just accuse Obama of playing the Race Card on him? Why do I doubt either of the Clintons will be able to deliver anything remotely close to an ass-kissing session? Everytime either one of them speaks, I look for smoke signals in the background or for their eyes blinking a Morse code message to the PUMAs. Call me a conspiracy nut, but you might want to make some popcorn for this convention.

9. Foreign Conflict: It has been widely noted that any international crisis will inevitably help John McCain. We now have two: Iran and Georgia. So while the McCain campaign is hitting hard on the fact that Barack Obama is nothing more than an empty-headed celebrity, world crises are brewing. Could Hillary Clinton help save the Democrats? Delegates might be wondering that right about now.

10. Old Jewish Women: Three strikes! Those are three major thorns in Obama’s side. Put them all together and you have one fierce PUMA. My favorite person in this category is a lady I chat with several times a week at a local coffee shop. Her name is Miss Criss. Criss had a vision that Hillary Clinton would take the Oath of Office. “In 2013?” I ask. “No, in 2009.” she still insists. Miss Criss swears up and down that Hillary Clinton will be the next President of the United States. And who am I to doubt her? She reads palms and cures pain with the heat of her fingertips, too.

One thing is for certain: win or lose, come August 26th, Hillary Clinton will be ready to pounce. All the signs are there.

The candidacy of Obama was one big social experiment by the DNC. The experiment has failed.

Everytime I hear him say that he was raised by a single mother- I automatically think of his grandmother and wonder “why is he dissing his grandfather”??? I know his Tutu was the backbone of the family and the primary (only?) breadwinner, but he always had a father figure in the home. Why does he dismiss his grandfather so readily?

I recall at one point Obama also claimed that he and his mother were on food stamps. Obviously another misttement. Does anyone know if there’s a way to prove this?

I have another opinion on this. If you asked MY DAUGHTER she would say she was raised by her mother. (maybe not the single part) But she would say it was me as she can’t STAND her father as he pretty much abandoned her as well and even though I married again she never considered her step-father as raising her. (we only stayed married 5 yrs)

I guess “being raised” requires a certain amount of TIME IN GRADE so to speak?

I noticed that Grandma, who he labeled as a typical white person to excuse Rev Wright’s racism was elevated to a wise person last night. The older female vote this spin is targeted to “were not born yesterday” and do not like Grandma being used.

His “gut wrenching” Iraq decision was only a way to get his anti war talking points in as he had no power at the time to affect the troops. His wrenching gut was only worried if his stance would hinder Obama becoming a US Senator.

Another lie: his grandmother was a bank executive, and the school he attended from 5th grade-graduation is extremely high end. I had two friends in college who graduated from Punahou, and it’s top of the line. Someone should go and take some pictures of the school for an ad with a voice over: “Raised by a single mother on food stamps? How did he go to school here?”

But beyond that, reviews seem to indicate it was one of the best — if not the very best — of McCain’s speaking performances in this election cycle.

My kds have been raised by their mother also. Even when I was married, I took complete responsibility for the family. I worked (my husband was getting his business started), I paid all the bills. I did all the housework, I spent every minute I was not working with my children. My husband didn’t help at all.

After eight years of marriage I divorced and my kids have pretty much never seen their father again.I did not remarry. My mom has occassionally helped me by getting the kids to games and whatnot, but I have been there for my kids every day of their lives. So, my kids were raised by their single mom. Had I stayed married, we might not have survived, but if we did, my kids would not say they were raised by their single mom, they would say they were raised by their mom alone . There is a difference.

Obama’s mom was not single while she raised him. She was married. When she got divorced, she sent Barack home for her parents to raise. Obama is lying.

The Obama fan are sure not happy this morning all they seem to be talking about is that McCain had the questions before time, or that he may have been listening to them that is why he was able to answer so fast and precise.

I have a different theory as to why he lies. Here is a sight to go to read about “Taqiyah”. It is very chilling and it fits Obama.

As long as you want accuracy, let’s be honest, we don’t know when his mother lived/married or separated from Barack Obama, Sr. and the current Barack Obama has not enlightened us.

We still don’t know how a teenager got from Hawaii to Washington state in possession of a two or three week old infant; or why her parents (or someone) would pay for an expensive flight (unless she had the baby on a boat) to Washington state to visit high school friends. Anyone who has been to Hawaii knows what a long uncomfortable flight that would be for someone who has just given birth. And he hasn’t even reached his first birthday yet!

One glaring problem with any timeline is that dates aren’t consistent and there are usually two (or more) years to choose from. First, there are two different years for his mother’s marriage to her second husband, and two different years and locations for his sister’s birth (Hawaii and Indonesia) which clouds the issue of when he returned to his grandparent’s home in Hawaii.

The only consistent dates in little Barry’s life is that faked birth certificate and that Indonesian school enrollment form! No verifiable paper trail exists. He can say he was born in Kansas and grew up on a farm just as easily as he can say he was born in Hawaii and was raised by a “single mom”. And the reality is that his sister was the child raised by a single mom after Mrs. Soertoro’s divorce from husband #2; which makes it seem that he has borrowed significantly more from his sister’s life than her birth certificate.

The number’s game may be relevant but you are demanding proof from the wrong people. Barry Soertoro/Barack Obama is the one you should be question about his constantly shifting timeline.

Larry, he has been pushing this “single mother” thing from the very beginning. Especially during the primaries when he needed African-Americans to push him over the edge in several states. HIs mother had a PhD and not to mention the financial means that his mother and Soetoro had to be ABLE to fugging GET to Indonesia!!! I am tired of hearing him whine about how bad he suffered because he was raised by a “single mom”. My kids are damned lucky I took them and ran and they have never resented not have their father around. They know they were better off, and I never said a word about him. By all accounts Obama’s dad makes my ex look like a saint.

My kids had more love and attention than any two parent household I’ve seen lately. I never missed a ballgame, teacher conference, concert or any other important function. We ate supper together every night, they were in 4H and every sport they wanted to participate in. Three kids all playing baseball in the summer can be a real nerve wracking experience. As soon as they got big enough we started chore lists and took turns, giving us more time for fishing and camping. They are strong and independent. In fact my kids are much more self-reliant than most of their friends.

I am not the exception. I know many single parents who are as good as or better parents than a lot of couples. One parent can do a good job raising children, it takes dedication and work. I am goddamned tired of this whole attitude that single parents are “less” or somehow cheating our kids. We are usually single for a good reason.

The only explanation that a teenage mother with a 2-week old baby would go to Washington is…that the baby is not yet born and she will give birth to Obamarama in British Columbia, Canada!

Unless you want Obama to be President, you need to focus on the ACORN organization and LaRaza. Acorn was busted in the last election for registering thousands of illegal voters and yet they continue their illegal activities. Aside from cherry-picking his “facts”, this is nothing more than a slight-of-hand trick. The FULL fact is he was also raised by his Indonesian step dad, who’s obviously NOT white–this is the cherry-picking part. For those who are dumb, i.e. obamabots, cherry-picking is a form of LYING.

A slight-of-hand trick is here too since if one is not aware of the deliberate cherry-picking, then Barry is really saying he is WHITE. “WHITE AMERICA, LISTEN UP! I’M WHTIE. VOTE FOR ME, I’M ENTITLED!” (To borrow that race-baiting Father Flegger’s slander of Hillary.)

From poker or shell games, a slight-of-hand trick is done so fast that even if you’re closely watching a con man’s hands (in this case, listening to Obama’s words) the entire time, you still can’t see that he’s just pulled a fast one. Obama has excellent control of his language and words–particularly for machiavellian purposes of pulling the wool over people’s eyes.

Barack O’Bullshit always seems to go out of his way to forget to mention his dark skinned Kenyan relatives, particularly his father, even though one of his best selling memoirs was supposedly inspired by. He also goes out of his way NOT to mention his dark skinned Indonesian relatives, including his half-Indonesian sister.

He’s not just “talking white” as Nader correctly sees, nor just “talking down to blacks” as Jesse Jackson also correctly asserts, but he’s marketing himself as a WHITE guy.

On stage and in commercials, he constantly surrounds himself with folksy white folk. During primaries, it was white women. (NOTE: The corporate media was deliberately helping Obama with the white women’s vote by constantly portraying him the way he wanted to be portrayed in the pimaries wherein he was constantly introduced, hugged and kissed by white women. Now, the corporate media is helping McCain by increasingly showing Obama surrounded by blacks doing that “terrorist fist bump”. This was the plan all along.)

It was truly ironic that during the Pennsylvania Primary on MSNBC (probably Olbermann or on Hardball) a pundit citing a “scholar” said that Obama was being turned black by the Clinton campaign and the media. BULLSHIT. On the contrary, Obama turned Hillary and Bill into a pair of white-robed-wearing, noose-wielding, cross-burning Klansmen, effectively stealing the once loyal and adoring black vote from her. Since Hillary had no way of getting the black vote back for the primaries, she naturally had to make up the deficit by increasing all other demographics, notably amongst hispanics and whites. (Asians and probably Native Americans too also overwhelmingly supported Hillary–something the corporate media always tried to downplay as they were greedily helping Obama race-bait both Clintons, destroying the Clinton brand.)

Truth is Obama was playing the race/victim card to get both the black vote and liberal white vote. That is, to white liberals and African Americans, he was posing as the black Chicago community activist–who was naturally the victim of white racists, i.e Hillary, Bill, Geraldine Ferraro, Ed Rendell, etc. This component of his strategy was done by surrogates.

But to the working class whites, he was constantly portraying himself as the hardworking (not too black but underneath indeed truly) white guy from Kansas with a white “single mom” and white grandparents and white supporters. This component of his strategy, he did himself on stage and in TV ads which were conspicuously filled almost exclusively with LILY WHITE PEOPLE.

Obama loves to play good cop/bad cop. When asked is is Hillary or McCain playing the race-card, he always says no. But behind the scenes, it is THE CENTRAL PART of his strategy.

Another such example of his incessant use of slight-of-hand tricks was his so-called “great race speech” vis-a-vis Jeremiah Wright. This speech was nothing more than THE GREAT RACE-BAIT speech.

The point about Jeremiah Wright was simply that Wright is a racist doucebag–and should have been condemned immediately, rather than defended. But some how, Obama pulled a “Don’t Mess With Texas!” He falsely and deliberately equated the condemnation of Wright and leaving Trinity Church to abandoning the black community or to throwing his “typical white” grandmother under the bus. BULLSHIT! NO ONE IS SUGGESTING THAT OBAMA ABANDON THE BLACK COMMUNITY, or disregard the deepest of family ties. EVERYONE ONLY WANTED HIM TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND THAT WAS SIMPLY TO CONDEMN RACIST BIGOTS like Wright.

With total moral clarity, Obama threw Don Imus under the bus–which was the right thing to do, when that scandal broke. Yet when it came to Wright, he defended Wright. All that initial garbage about “I condemn the words but not the man…” , was nothing more than an OUTRIGHT DEFENSE OF WRIGHT. THIS IS CLEARLY EVIDENCED BY THE FACT THAT ABOUT 6 WEEKS LATER, HE OUTRIGHT CONDEMNED WRIGHT AND ABOUT 2 WEEKS AFTER THAT, HE LEFT TRINITY CHURCH. W.r.t race, Wright was still saying the same hateful garbage, and Trinity was still the same church. The only thing that changed was that Wright was now openly calling Obama a typical pandering politician with no firm beliefs and who was just out to get votes–from whites.

Question: Why is it when he defends Wright, he dubiously links Wright and Trinity to the black community in general, in an inseparable way? Poor Barry, he can’t condemn Wright, b’coz that means he would be condemning all of black America, i.e. “DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS! And certainly, DON’T MESS WITH BLACKS!” But when he flat out condemn’s Wright as someone who “exploits the divisions of the past” (i.e. Wright’s a race-baiter), then suddenly there is now NO connection with the black community at large? And naturally Barack O’Bullshit’s throwing of Wright and Trinity under the bus is therefore now NOT an abandoning the black community. WTF?!?

Recall that in 2000, Bush pulled his “Don’t mess with Texas!” line, i.e. slight-of-hand scam, when Gore was trashing Bush’s policies in Texas. “Don’t mess with Texas!” brazenly implied that Gore was trashing not Bush’s policies, but Texas and Texans themselves!!!!

Thus, when Obama brazenly equated both Wright and Trinity to the black community in general, he was saying: “White people of America, listen up! To condemn Wright and Trinity is RACIST!” Nevermind that both Wright and Trinity are without question racist to begin with. THIS IS PURE AND UNADULTERATED RACE-BAITING OF THE MOST MACHIAVELLIAN KIND.

If that is not grotesque enough, then also keep in mind so much of the mythical Obama legend which not only willfully ignorant African Americans but naive Starbucks-latte-drinking white liberals so deeply cherish, comes directly from this GREAT RACE-BAIT SPEECH. Naturally, the bots still see that dubious and self-serving speech as “the great race speech”. Naturally, they also think “typical white person” doesn’t violate Dr. King’s wisdom: “Judge a man by the content of his character, rather than then color of his skin.”

Another one of my favorite Obama slight of hand tricks was his “I wan’t to bring change… I don’t take money from oil companies!” The implication here is that everyone else does, i.e all those corrupt white politicians do, and in particular, Hillary does. The problem? As Bill Clinton pointed out, nobody does. It’s been illegal to take money from oil companies for 100 years. “I don’t take money from oil companies is is a loaded claim–as brazen as it is dubious. If the subtext is race, then Obama is saying that only I, the black man, will not take money from oil companies, unlike those corrupt whites, unlike Hillary–only I can bring change to Washington.

Once again, Obama plays the race card in a very subtle way that flies right under-the-radar for those who don’t pay attention. Because the subtext of the primary process is also gender, he was actually also gender baiting, since he was running ads with this loaded claim when only He and Hillary were both in the race.

Again, Obama is quite the slippery bullshit artist.

Besides cherry-picking (or telling half-truths) and slight-of-hands tricks, Obama also incessantly engages in other forms of lying such as flip-flopping and bait-n-switch, non-sequitur logic and so on.

The best liars include elements of truth in their lies. Similarly, the best flip-floppers leave wiggle room. Lies which don’t include elements of truth are easily picked out thereby easily exposing the liar. This is why the best liars include elements of truth. Duh!

Now, when it comes to flip-flopping, wiggle room (or the “fine print”, if you will) is the key successfully pulling the wool over people’s eyes: For if and when people accuse you of flip-flopping, you can always condescendingly say, “Hey, you weren’t listening. I did say that we should always listen to the commanders on the ground in Iraq, did I not?” Or you can also condescendingly say: “My position of public financing has always been consistent since I’ve always maintained that the most corrupting influence in campaigns is from oil companies and lobbyists.” [Paraphrasing both times.]

I think Aldoph Reed put it best when he commented on Obama’s incessant lying, which also applies to his incessant flip-flopping and incessant lying about never flip-flopping: “Obama’s style of being all things to all people threatens to melt under the inescapable spotlight of a national campaign against a Republican.
