Bugging Howard Dean

dean-18-million_edited-2.jpg

It’s hard to know how many of us will still be bugging Howie and the DNC after November, but I have a strong hunch that a huge swarm will not be going anywhere. At least not until the DNC is totally revamped into a party that lives up to its name.

As Donna Brazile resolved in 2003, in order to save the Democratic Party she might have to destroy it first. Good job so far, Donna!

Now, Donna, you can leave along with Howard. Job well done. You both need a rest.

  • http://! Clinton Fan

Not to be a thread hijacker, but has anyone noticed the RUSSKIES who keep bumping an old thread from DEC 07? I think this is a DOS attack happening. I sent a note to Larry, if anyone else can get ahold of him or someone else who can lock out that thread it would be a good thing, as Martha says.

    ———————————

Now, to the cartoon–Pat, I’m proud to be one of those eighteen million!!! The only thing they’ve been spraying on us is hatred and invective, too–apparently they’ve never heard of Dale Carnegie!

PRINCETON, NJ — Barack Obama’s selection of U.S. Sen. and former presidential candidate Joe Biden as his running mate is not generating a momentous immediate reaction from the nation’s voters. Just 14% of registered voters interviewed in a new USA Today/Gallup poll say Biden makes them more likely to vote for Obama in November and 7% say less likely while 72% say he will not have much effect on their vote.

This results in Biden potentially having a net positive impact on voter support for the Democratic ticket of +7 percentage points — small by comparison with other recent vice presidential selections.

    *
A net 17% of nationwide registered voters said they were more likely to vote for John Kerry in 2004 on the basis of his selection of John Edwards as his running mate (24% more likely and 7% less likely).
    *
A net 12% of voters reported being more likely to vote for Al Gore in 2000 on account of his choosing Joe Lieberman (16% more likely and 4% less likely).
    *
A net 18% of voters indicated they were more likely to vote for Bob Dole in 1996 on the basis of his choice of Jack Kemp to complete the ticket (26% more likely and 8% less likely).
    *
A net 25% of voters were more likely to vote for Bill Clinton in 1992 on account of Al Gore (33% more likely and 8% less likely).

The only recent vice presidential choices to spark less voter reaction than Biden were Dick Cheney in 2000 (net 4%, with 14% more likely and 10% less likely) and Dan Quayle in 1988 (net score of 0, with 10% more likely and 10% less likely).

Obama seems to believe that laying out proposals similar to Hillary’s will win over PUMAs.
      ha!
When Obama instructs his followers and declares that Bill and Hillary Clinton are not racists, perhaps I’ll consider voting for him.

      • mimi

You know, I said something similar at the very beginning. But now, I really don’t care if he takes it back, Michelle apologizes and they both say to the black community that Bill and Hillary are not racists.

Personally, I don’t think it’s in him to do this. He’s the type of person who really believes that he doesn’t have to apologize. And that’s what I really don’t like about him.

However, he should pay attention, and Michelle, too. I’m sure a lot of people like you would consider voting for him if they apologized and I mean in a BIG WAY. And not just once. Say it enough times so the news cycles and print media would cover it.

        • Hillaryfan

It’s called NPD. And they NEVER apologize.

          • imustprotest

Yes, I think he has NPD. Nothing is ever his fault so no reason to apologize. He has no empathy either.

            • Hillaryfan

Very true. It’s obvious that he has as much feeling as cardboard when it comes to other people’s pain. He sure feels the tiniest slight to his ego though.

NPDs are extremely frightening – especially if they have access to power. Sadly, the list is endless.

      • s. hall

joseyj — The problem for Obama is Obama. He overlooked the candidate with 18 Million votes for the candidate with 9,000. Then he expects the country will erupt in applause at his choice. He was too cute by half when he decided to destroy two people who had done more for race relations then he ever thought of doing — just to get the nomination. Now he finds that the decision to destroy Hillary and his jealousy of her will keep him from winning in November. What does he do about it–absolutely nothing. He thinks if you throw money at a problem it will go away. Perhaps if Obama started thinking for a change instead of just reading everything from a teleprompter. He might realize he pissed in his chips.

2 months after the un-Democratic Primaries PUMA is the biggest story of this election. And when Obama loses it will be the main reason. Obama likens himself to JFK however, JFK gave the nod to LBJ because he wanted to win more than he wanted to hate Johnson. Obama hasn’t grown up enough to understand that.

      • catherine

I would not care if he did. It would prove he unethically misrepresented and discredited Hillary in order to win votes. I have less respect for him now than ever.

  • Astra14

I’m on of those eighteen million – the rest of whom I’m hoping will write Hillary’s name in if she’s not nominated.

The funniest thing I can think of are people voting exactly for whom they really want – not along party lines, especially parties who trample on their own members – and having that person beating both Obama and McCain. That would put make a shockwave no one can ignore.

    • fif

Astra: make sure you check your state’s regulations re: write in votes. You can go to writehillaryin.com, and they have a state by state breakdown, or you can contact your state elections commission. Some people have warned that if you write in Hillary, and she does not receive a majority (which she won’t), they can ascribe that vote to the Democratic nominee. Ach!

      • fif

Actually, it might be writeinhillary.com. Check both.

        • Astra14

Thank you. I just checked and it’s writehillaryin.com… and my state (Pennsylvania) ignores write-in votes. Looks like I’m either not voting or voting for Ralph Nader, who still won’t win.

          • joseyj

Writing in Hillary or voting for Nader won’t damage Obama as much as voting for McCain.
            imho

            • cdo

I agree. My first priority in November is the gutting of the DNC. They need to lose. Their shabby political games must not be rewarded.

            • Anthony

A write in for Hillary in a state that doesn’t recognize write in votes will be awarded to the candidate representing her party. So if you want Obama to get her vote, then go ahead and do that.

Voting for Nadir (Spelling intentional) will not do a thing. Only a vote for McCain can render Obama unelectable in the future, and don’t think that Brazile and Dean will give up on him in the future unless you vote for McCain.

Me? I’ve been a registered Independent voter my entire life, and have been voting straight Dem since the early 70′s. This year, I must vote my conscience, and I can’t vote for Obama in good conscience, regardless of where he is on a ticket.

I’m voting for McCain, and will brave the admonitions from the Bots that my index finger will fall off if I do. I fully expect to extend another finger as I leave the voting booth, and I encourage everyone who feels similarly to do the same.

              FBO

              • mimi

“and don’t think that Brazile and Dean will give up on him in the future unless you vote for McCain.”

This is a supremely important point. If we don’t hand him a resounding defeat, in the words of the Terminator:

He’ll be back! In 2012! That would be a nightmare.

                • MEchelle Hates America!

                  Great point Mimi!

What a nightmare, but you’re so right.

                • Hillaryfan

I wondered for years why the talking heads always said that the democrats do not forgive a loser and never give them a second chance. Republicans do.

Not true. Adlai Stevenson. Democrats gave him a second chance and he got his ass kicked twice. When Rupubs have given their candidates a second chance, they have won. That’s the difference.

I will hang on to that hope!!

                • jwrjr

Any candidate supported by Dean/Brazile must be viewed with great skepticism.

              • granny

I will vote Republican at the top of the ticket and Democrat on the down ticket. I’m in Texas and I’d love to be rid of John Cornyn. No doubt that McCain will win Texas without my help, but I see no reason to waste a vote on a 3rd party. Now if Hillary, Bill and their friends decided to start a 3rd party, I’d vote that one. Don’t see that happening this year, anyway.

If you live in a swing state or a blue state, please don’t waste your vote on anything but a hold-your-nose and choose Republican at the top of the ticket! Your vote is way too precious to waste.

            • s. hall

josey–yes. I will vote for McCain. My first Republican vote ever. But its not like I left the party — the party said it didn’t need its base of reliable voters any longer. The Republicans understand what a huge and costly mistake Dean and Obama have made in dissing their base–but the Democrats don’t get it. When the DNC moved to Chicago and allowed Obama to take over its operations and its voter lists–I was done.

            • dee4hill

I figure the most damage I can do – the best way for me to get my message across, is to go into the voting booth as a Dem, pull the lever for McCain, fill out an exit poll stating my affiliation, showing I crossed Party lines. I think that will be the best gut punch I can deliver.

Immediately after the GE, I’m switching to Indy and sending Howie and Donna a copy with a scathing letter to let them know I’m one of the 18 million they turned their backs on and why I denounce them and their Party.

From then on, I’ll vote for the person, not a Party. My days of undying loyalty to the Dems is over. I have no qualms whatsoever in ending a 35-year, one-sided association with these ungrateful brats.

              McCain ’08 – Hillary ’12!!!

              • Hillaryfan

I’m with you. I’m just happy that the other side has put up a candidate I can live with. I’m also voting McCain. After this…. I will stop thinking of them as the “other side.”

              • Yo

I’m doing exactly what you are doing. I will no longer vote just Dem after 36 years. I will vote for the best person for the job regardless of affiliation.

Someone in another thread asked the question that if Russia were to rear it’s ugly head in a confrontation beyond Georgia, who would you want to be President. If you think about it, it would have to be McCain. Obama is a pansy ass and I just can’t see him being a strong leader.

Think really hard before you throw away your precious vote on a third party candidate if you live in a swing or Blue state.

            • Ivory Bill Woodpecker

Sorry, but I can’t bring myself to vote for a member of the Elephascist Party, the party of the Chimperor and Darth Cheney.

One of the main reasons I refuse to vote for Plastic Jesus Obama is that he, and his faction of the nominally Democratic Party, are acting too much like the Oedipus-imitating [think about it ;) ] dictatorial un-American GOP [or as I call it, the Elephascist Party].

I know she won’t win, but I’ll vote for McKinney.

              • Hillaryfan

I remember a lot of people talking like you in 2000. They voted third party because they didn’t think there was any difference between dubya and Al Gore…

Maybe it’s just me, but I think MAYBE there was a difference.

Granted, the party lines are different this time.

But go ahead… One of the great things about America is that you can vote for whomever you for whatever reason you want.

          • mimi

If you stay home, Donna Brazile will be pleased.

            “Message to base: STAY HOME!”

            • s. hall

mimi — too right. Brazile thinks she needs to destroy the Democratic Party — well she has. But I ain’t staying home.

I received a call from my state party about one of the local candidates I told them I was going to vote Republican and the man said we would prefer you stay home. I said NEVER I ALWAYS VOTE.

              • TeakwoodKite

Stay Home? and the “we” part gets me everytime!

I have never missed a vote except for Carter, who conceded the race as I was literally driving to the poll to vote in California.

I do not know how this race will turn out but I will not vote for BO, even though I would have voted for Biden in the Primary.

I voted for McCain in the 2000 primaries, I knew Bush was a nightmare. I voted for Democrats presidential elections from day one. Not anymore. The Clintons will always have my respect. BO never will. A write in vote in CA for Hillary will go to BO. Not gonna do it.

McCain has my vote. He was not my first choice.
Barry can go to hell and stay there, when the Devil comes to collect on the bargin BO made with ‘em.

          • hank48188

I you don’t want to have Obama as President you better vote for McCain, I know that is what I’m doing. Nader is not a choice, it’s just a waste of your vote.

            • Ivory Bill Woodpecker

Horse feathers. It is astronomically improbable that my one vote for McKinney will give the electoral votes of my state [Arkansas] to Plastic Jesus instead of McCain.

          • PSP

Astra…I agree with joseyj. The way to prevent Obama from becoming CinC is to vote Nader or McCain. Your vote for either one will cancel out an Obamabots vote. If you don’t cancel their vote…you empower them. So for you and every one else thinking of sitting it out on Nov. 4th…please DON’T!

Between the two…I’m going with John McCain. I have really come to admire then man. I do not agree with all of his policies (free trade) but one thing I do know about McCain…he will keep us safe.

      • Astra14

Thank you for telling me that! I don’t want my votes going to Obama!

        • http://! Clinton Fan

If you’re in that situation, there’s always Cynthia McKinney–I find her a better alternative than that asshole Nader!

No one dare you call you a racist, either!

          • rw

There is NOthing asshole about Nader. Far better choice than McKinney. What has she accomplished? What did she accomplish for her district? I’m not speaking about what she supports or mouths off about, but actual accomplishments.

        • s. hall

astra 14 — its a difficult decision to vote against your party — sort of like changing religions. You sound like a very thoughtful person–its sad when they hurt true believers like you and I while they play their corporate games.

      • mimi

It’s appalling at this late stage that people are not aware that their state’s rules may count a Hillary write-in as a vote for 0bama.

I respect people’s right to their own choice even if I think voting any other way than McCain is a wasted vote or worse staying home as Donna Brazile dictated. But not to write in a vote that may wind up going for 0bama is unacceptable. You might as well vote for him outright.

Please, find out your state’s laws. And make sure! Just in case there’s an 0bamabot lurking to give you the wrong info.

Maybe there should be a blog running down each states policy on write-ins.

        • mimi

Oops, I see the info is available on write-in Hillary web page.

    • blazer

a write in vote for hillary is a vote for obama i want obama to lose im voting mccain….

      • joseyj

        That works for me too!

    • csuzeq

My original plan was to write Hillary and then I found writehillaryin.com. That group kept me sane throughout May and June! Anyway, I came to realize it is not that simple. Sure we could probaly generate enough votes through an online campaign to have Hillary win, but election law doesn’t allow for it. In my state, Hillary has to petition to be on the ballot as a write in and she was never going to do that anywhere. Also, it’s my understanding that in some states, if you ran in theprimary and lost, then you cannot be on the ballot for the GE, either write in or Independent. Bummer.

    • Jane

What a treat to see a post that states they still hope Hillary will be nominee.

Are we still fighting for that on this blog?

      • wodiej

I think alot of people deep down still hope she is the nominee it just doesn’t seem likely that’s all. I think based on the sheer obviousness of Obama being so unqualified and then stole the primary by cheating thug workers and the DNC promoting him, it’s just not a scenario that most believe will happen.

    • s. hall

astra 14 — I say this as a person who voted for Democrats for 44 years–don’t waste your vote with a write in for Hillary. In a lot of states if you write in Hillary’s name that vote will go to Obama.

If you vote Republican you will send a message to our party that will reverberate when they lose big in November. The only way to stop this from happening again is to vote a straight Republican ticket and you will see big changes.

      • joseyj

        YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!
I refuse to reward the Obamacrat Party’s Nazi tactics!

        • Leisa

It is time to give Obama a first… if he ends up as our nominee, he will be the first candidate for POTUS to loose more states than McGovern.

          • beebop

As someone who voted for no one but Democrats as an exile in Texas for almost three decades, it pains me no end to come home to my native Ohio where I proudly WALKED to the polls and voted for Hillary to now face a Republican vote here in November. But. I agree that a party that has left its foundation needs to be reminded and if they don’t see the error of their ways, they will see a third party in four year’s time.

  • yttik

LOL, what a cute cartoon! Sometimes I feel like a mosquito, buzz, buzz, buzz.

The latest talking point is that you’re a swiftboater. Yesterday I simply said I would not be voting Obama and half a dozen people accused me of swiftboating. Wait, I never even mentioned why I wasn’t supporting him!

Dems lose over and over again by coming from a position of weakness and whining about how Republicans are being mean, they’re picking on me, they’re swiftboating. Republicans don’t have backgrounds like Mother Teresa, they have just figured out how to own their skelatons and control the discussion.

    • fif

It’s so true. The Biden pick highlights BO’s inexperience and wimp factor. He needs to bring in a “real man” to fight for him and explain how things work. Then what’s the point of Obama? Each new powerful McCain ad nails him, and his response is to whine and cry or pounce on some stupid issue like the number of houses his wife owns. Watching this as a disenchanted Dem, it is even more obvious why we always lose.

      • Joy

Fiffy, with the number of homes in foreclosure or about to go into foreclosure, it does matter when a candidate can’t answer how many homes he and/or his wife own.

        • MEchelle Hates America!

Bullshit. It just means that they manage real estate.

I have some non-rich friends who have had to think about it as well.

How many stocks does Oblowme own?

Why did his wife get a raise when her babies Daddy got a political position?

Why did Oblowme go to Rezko for a loan?

How did Biden become a multi-millionaire like Oblowme?

The DNC put up billionaire Kerry and multi-millionaire Edwards last time, remember jackass?!

          • Pink Panther

It’s clear that Obama and his minions have a problem with private property ownership.

McCain needs to run an ad or ask Obama how many pieces of property Americans should be able to own. Are two homes too many? But what happens if you inherit a home from your parents? Will the Obama Administration add a substantial tax for homeownership which forces people to sell them?

Oh pleaseeeeeeeeee, let Obama and his minions make this an issue. There are so many Constitutional issues (e.g., takens issues), fairness issues, etc. that can be used to show Obama’s marxist roots.

Joy, keep this up all over the internet. This issue is guaranteed to be fun-for McCain and the RNC.

            • Pink Panther

I need to make a correction. It is takings and not takens.

I was so excite about the issue I forgot to proofread.

          • Joy

Me O Me said “Bullshit. It just means that they manage real estate.” Me o Me, the question was how many homes he owned, not how many homes he managed.

Is he that out of touch he doesn’t know? Is he senile or is he and his wife that wealthy, he lost track of the number of homes they own? Either way it doesn’t look good.

        • http://! Clinton Fan

Why does it matter? Why do you care? Why are you so desperate to try to make others care about how much real estate his rich wife owns?

The guy has a rich wife–like Kerry does.

People who live in glass houses, and all that.

And won’t you feel like an asshole if you find out he’s got family parked in some of those houses?

Naaaaah, probably not. That “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers” shit is “just words.”

Ain’t that right, troll? Ask George Hussein Obama. He’s living large in Nairobi on a buck a month!

You guys have got to be pretty frightened to keep whining about this. I guess age and degree of baldness are off the table now, so you have to go somewhere for your snark….

          • Joy

Clinton Fanatic, I don’t care how many homes John and Cindy McCain own . Being rich is a hell of alot better than being poor. The problem was with his answer. Is he that senile or that rich he doesn’t know the number of homes owned by he and his wife?

    • csuzeq

I just started yesterday saying to people, democrats couldn’t win the White House if the Republicans spotted them 250 electoral votes, that is why I am voting republican in 2008 (unless they nominate Clinton).

      • mimi

A lot of truth to that comment.

    • s. hall

yttik — You got that right — Republicans don’t moan. They look strong because they act tough and they are loyal to one another. Reagan’s 11th Commandment was never say anything bad about another Republican. Our party could learn a big lesson from that statement.

For me the moment Obama lost the election was when he played the race card against a popular president by a basically unknown, unvetted candidate, for short term gain. Well Obama won the battle with that one but he lost the war.

And America lost its chance to fix the last 8 years.

    • TeakwoodKite

All I have to do is recall the “8 question presser” BO did. and would not respond to questions regarding Rezko.

I am tired of these IGITS “running out the clock”. It makes a mockery of justice.

  • slumlord

I’ll be remaining in the swarm.
But doubt if I’ll vote for McCain, unless he shows more of his old progressive side, especially on environmental matters.

I guess the simple truth, if we wanted to vote for him we would have in the Primary, if just too hard for them to comprehend.

On an another web site I frequent, a women asked if you vote for the democrat in the primary. Do you have to vote for the Democrat in the General Election. One of those “know it all” women said YES. Its a requirement of voting. Said it was a law of her state. (Texas). I wrote a response that there is no such law in any state. My status as a moderator was removed. I was eventually removed from the group. The group 98% Obama lovers. I was the 2% of Hillary supporters in the group.

    • pm317

      Message to 0bambots:

It’s that kind of subterfuge that has me voting for McCain. Lying to some poor sap about election law just to get your candidate elected is not what democracy is about.

It’s unacceptable that they would lie. But the worst part was that they compounded the error by censoring the truth and removing you, Patti, as a poster from that blog.

If that doesn’t smack of facism, of Nazism, I don’t know what does.

The 0bama campaign lost me on this more than the sexism, and the racism, although these helped significantly. But the facism was the dealbreaker.

The dem tactic or talking point is using the point that smear tactics by McCain are the old politics and Obama won’t do that cause he’s a new politician. I say bull shit. I want Obama smeared exposed and if the MSM hasn’t got the balls to expose corruption, let alone the news, the voting booth will.

This goes beyond being a staunch Hillary supporter now for me- It’s become very personal.

    NOBAMA EVER!

  • Hillaryfan

I was really curious to see which path Obama would take in his choice for VP. Would he do a JFK (and pick Hillary – like JFK picked LBJ) or a Bill Clinton (and pick Tim Kaine – someone who would reinforce his message of change) or… do a George W. and pick an adult and an attack dog. Hmmmmmm Probably a good choice on his part but it certainly reinforces my belief that he is a “black dubya.” Or maybe it’s a Dukakis choice – Benson really was awesome in the debates against Quayle. Didn’t help him though….. I sure hope it’s a Dukakis choice with the same results.

My apologies to Joe Biden – I really do like him. He’s no Dick Cheney…

    • Tuppence 411

Benson wiped the floor with Quayle. Didn’t matter. We weren’t voting Lloyd for President. Clinton/ Gore returned the dynamics of VP back to America’s early vision. No one wants to go back to a VP who only shows up at state dinners and funerals. But Cheney scared the crap out of most people; the power behind the throne. If Joe is casted as a Cheney replacement, this pick will hurt Obama fatally. Joe is no Cheney, but he sure can bark and attack like Cheney. He’s got an ego as big as Cheney. He has as many connections in Washington as Cheney did. If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck……….

    • snosandy

Obama/Biden is Bush/Cheney “with a tan,” the original puppet and puppeteer.

      • Hillaryfan

Man…the democrats (ok, I was a member for many years – now independent after what happened to Hillary) are depressingly stupid. To offer up the antidote to Bush/Cheney is to offer up the Left’s equivalent of Bush/Cheney. Not going to work. Hopefully.

  • Tuppence 411

The Obots are so delusional. I am starting to worry for them come November. I think pharmacies better start stockpiling a supply of antidepressants. Like the last two general elections, ONE state will decide whose president along with and a few thousand votes here and there. Obots are so delusional. Only Hillary could have changed the map. She would have won all the blue states, Ohio plus Florida and thrown in Arkansas for good measure. That buzzing noise is getting real loud in Howard’s ear. What’s the buzz? Why it’s Hillary’s voice saying “He can’t change the map, he can’t win”.

    • s. hall

tuppence — you make a really good point. The electoral map has not favored the Democrats for decades. Hillary could have changed that. We can see from early poll numbers that Obama will lose the entire South including Florida. The best he can hope for is a sweep of the Industrial States if there is such a thing as an Industrial State today. Dean was wrong to hand this idiot the nomination and Obama was wrong not to covet Hillary. I see a lose of Titanic proportions for the Democrats this year.

The only reason Clinton was able to eak out a victory with only 43% of the vote in 92 was having Ross Perot’s name on the ballot.

  • cplummer

My dad, who is an Obama supporter, sent me a link this morning. I haven’t talked politics with him for months and months and that was always our prime and most enjoyed topic of conversation.

Here’s what he wrote: “You are a smart lady, at least listen to this from Keith Olberman before you decide to vote for John McCain! Thanks, Dad”
    McCain: Senator, Grow Up!

I’ll not provide a link, but when I saw the source, I wrote back to my Dad telling him I haven’t listened to KO, a/k/a the windbag, for months and months.

I really can’t believe by “smart” dad thinks KO would have any kind of influence except negative on me, but like I said, I haven’t talked politics with him in forever. I really don’t think many BO supporters really, really understand what is keeping a lot of us from supporting their guy. And it makes me furious to see so many say that if BO loses, it’s all Hillary’s fault.

I keep saying I’m not furious that Hillary lost, I’m furious with the way BO (and Donna and Howard) won.

    • mimi

Very well put, I’m not furious that Hillary lost.

It was the way they won.

For the record, I never voted for the ultimate nominee of the Democratic Party and I lived through it and accepted when these candidates lost the Primary, because the they lost fair and square. And only once did I not support the Democratic nominee.

      Not this time.

0bama cheated! He gamed the Caucus. The msm was in the tank and spewed Hillary hatred 24 hours a day. The RBC award delegates 0bama hadn’t earned. Michigan and Florida weren’t the only ones who broke the rules, South Carolina did too and was not penalized. Dean manipulated the Caucus schedule so that the AA community would put 0bama over the top early and force Hillary out.

Then Michelle 0bama lied on Bill Clinton. And Kennedy led the charge over Hillary’s accurate remark about wanting to be a President like LBJ.

And now these same forces want to blame Hillary???

      Fine!

As much as I’d like to see Hillary become POTUS, I want to see 0bama LOSE MORE!

Ultimately, I don’t care if Hillary becomes president.

But 0bama won’t be POTUS either!

  • JM08

This is a message for all the kooks at kos. I would have posted there directly, but they wont publish any of my posts (go figure) . So I am hoping some of the trolls will read my comments here, and report back there.

I believe that we can sit here analyzing polls and voting records etc., but the bottom line is this … There is 3 things that cannot be changed …

    1. Obama is black

    2. Obama is at the very least a ex- muslim

    3. His name is Barack HUSSEIN Obama

When it comes time to vote on Nov 4 there is no way a majority of Americans are going to pull the lever for him, and that is just based on the 3 undeniable facts above.

Now the fact he has no specifics when discussing any of his plans, and the fact that he has no experience, and the fact he has surrounded himself with people that have gone on record with anti- american comments, and the fact that he pissed off a big chunk of his own party by the way he treated Hillary, and now not even vetting her is the icing on the cake.

Yeah sure I admit about half the democrats that claim they wont vote for Obama, based on his actions towards Hillary, will most likely end up drinking the kool aid and have a light shine on them, and then the epithany will come, and they will fall in line with the rest of the bots and start chanting the praises of the messiah, but still if even half keep their sanity, then that is a huge chunk of people from your own party to have not vote for you…

These 527′s are going to make sure that people have it in there face constantly about Obama and his ties to Muslim, and what his wife and pastor of 20 years said, and about his good buddy Ayers and Rezko.

So if you bots think that the American people are too nuanced to care about any of that stuff, then you are just kidding yourself.

If you bots think that by harping on the fact that the McCain family owns X amount of houses, is going to counteract all of the above then again your kidding yourself.

I dont care if Obama wins every debate. People in America are not ready to actually pull the lever for a black, ex-muslim guy for president. Yeah he may do alright in the polls, but asking somebody who they are going to vote for beforehand when your answer does not matter, and actually voting for someone is the secrecy of the voting booth when everything matters, is a completly different matter.

You bots lost before you ever began. Your messiah can will all the debates, he can have all the favorable media coverage, he can 10 times the amount of money, McCain can make gaffes daily from here to election day, BUT

America is not going to vote for a black ex muslim named Barack HUSSEIN Obama over a white guy who was hero.

    • Kelvin Hearts PUMAs

So basically, you hope that America shows true face by not voting for Obama? And none of you PUMAs claim that you are not racist?

      • Tuppence 411

Degree- it doesn’t bother me in the least that Obambi is half black. It bothers me that he is GREEN. It bothers me even more that he is so thinned skinned. Why should I vote an inexperienced, uncharitiable, emotionally petty puppet with poor judgement as my President? Just because you like the narrative of the first AA president? Who the F are you? I liked the narrative of the first woman president. I loved the message that would send out to the world about America. But the difference was HILLARY IS QUALIFIED. I can’t wait until November when Barky gets off the public stage and all you Obots are in therapy and standing in line for your zoloft scripts. He isn’t ready. It wasn’t his turn. He loses and can slink back to the Senate in obscurity. That’s what happens when you cheat, lie, and scrabble
over the backs of others. You become the LOSER.

      • beebop

Whoever this person is, I have never seen them post before. This type of comment was — as he indicated — intended for Kos. He just put it here. Just like we let you spin your crap here. Get over him and yourself. Welcome to a republic. Where people still get to have an opinion.

      • Dr. Kate

no this is not the race card, anchovy. nor is it racist. What has Obama done to show that his is not an ex-muslim? that he sat in a church that preached hate for America and took his children in there?

        Muslim
        Terrorist connections
        Wright’s church
        “bitter clingy white people”
        typical white people
and BIDEN, the guy who let clarence thomas on the supreme court.

There are so many reasons why not to vote for Obama. The 527s, once they are done with obama, will remind people of all these things.

you are so misinformed, kelvin. and you are wasting your time. you should go beef up those brain cells.

      • Hillaryfan

I’m with Geraldine – I think black skin is a plus. Unfortunately black skin is like white skin… it’s only skin-deep.

    • mimi

I pretty much felt this way before 0bama even opened his mouth and Hillary lost.

Then, there was this sudden spurt of momentum for 0bama back in late 2007 and early 2008. I thought just maybe this biracial candidate, because he is that, he IS half-white, so to me, all this business about people being racist who don’t want to vote for him is bullshit. And this is where I think 0bama blew it.

In order to beat Hillary, he had to align himself so closely with AAs as well as paint the Clintons as racist. He’s did this his whole career and those chickens came back to roost in the person of Rev Wright and Trinity Church. Add to that, Ayers, the incredible statements in his memoir, his unwillingness to share his Birth Certificate, his medical records, his school transcripts as well as the unfortunate statement where he threw his grandmother under the bus, well 0bama pretty much sealed his own doom.

He could have been a much more successful biracial candidate, but of course, he wouldn’t have had 90% of the AA community and might have lost the Primary. But maybe not. There was enough white Hillary-hatred that might have made him more competetive in some states.

      But he didn’t do that.

Now he is considered black, a man who by virtue of his mother’s choices, had to practise Islam as a child in Indonesia, and when he chose to change his name back to his father’s he had no way of knowing that Hussein would forever link him to his Muslim ties because of Saddam. And the 0bama/0sama similarity after 9/11 doesn’t help either.

There is still racism in America. Ask Harold Ford in Tennessee. But 0bama had a real shot and blew it himself. There were a lot of white people willing to take a leap of faith and vote for him, especially among the Clinton-haters, and now won’t. And they aren’t racists.

The ones who won’t vote for him because he is black, well the truth is, they weren’t going to vote for him anyway. He never had those votes. He was out and out delusional to think he was going to turn certain red states blue. Ain’t gonna happen. But he did have a real shot with blue collar working class people until his own words shot him in the mouth.

So quit calling the people who have made their decision based on 0bama’s own personal history,ACTIONS and WORDS. People like me.

And I happen to be AA.

      So no racism here!

Yes, that site is a great example of racist and racism.

      And guess what?

0bama never had a shot with these people.

It’s insulting to paint everyone with the brush of racists when they are no where like the people who post on that blog.

And I’m particularly annoyed with the white liberal 0bama supporters pushing the racist meme. They are doing more harm to black people than they care to understand.

After 0bama’s lost and these same white people are in their all-white communities, AAs will have to deal with the aftermath of bitterness and resentment.

HOSPITAL DISPUTE | Obama’s wife, 3 aides tied to plan to free up space

    August 23, 2008

BY TIM NOVAK AND CHRIS FUSCO Staff Reporters

Sen. Barack Obama’s wife and three close advisers have been involved with a program at the University of Chicago Medical Center that steers patients who don’t have private insurance — primarily poor, black people — to other health care facilities.

    • Dr. Kate

      my sister and her husband are medical professionals in Chicago. They have had first hand experience with Barky and MEchelle My sister’s immediate assessment of Mechelle was;

The kooks at Kos are the ones that have the most racial comments. They are constantly referring to McCains “white ass” . I dont know if it is all black guys that post over there, or if there is just alot of white guys that want to be black, or have homosexual fantasies about being a sub to a black guy, but just go read their comments “white ass” this and “white ass” that …

The bots are overconfident because they just won a war, albeit by a very slim slim margin against Hillary, and that had to manipulate the caucases, and have some screwy delegate proportioning system that favored the inner city, to even win that battle.

But the republicans are a whole different animal. Hillary couldnt say all the things the republicans can say, because she didnt want to piss off her own party, and she had to be a “good” democrat.

The republicans dont have to play by those rules. The republicans dont have to worry about offending black people, or about being politically correct in the eyes of the democratic party. Republicans could care less about what Pelosi, Dean etc think. Hillary went into her battle with the messiah, with one arm tied behind her back and armed with only a plastic spoon, but the republicans are foaming at the mouth, armed with a bazooka, and more than willing to piss on Pelosi, Dean and the rest of them.

OT, but the Bill Gwatney assassination has been so much on my mind – still. Maybe somebody has covered this, but I haven’t been near a computer in a few days and wanted to make sure ya’ll saw it – from Savage Politics.

In other news, TheCityEdition has developed an interesting theory regarding the sudden death of many Democrats who have been pushing for Hillary Clinton’s name to be placed into the nomination roll call at the Democratic Convention. Here is an excerpt:

On the day before the Democratic National Committee announced it would hold a roll-call vote in Denver – with candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton’s name on the ballot – the head of the Arkansas delegation was shot and killed at his party headquarters. (snip)

While investigators are still searching for a motive in the murder, the timing is suspicious. Also, the location. The tragedy took place in the heart of Clinton country, where the former President presided as governor for 12 years. (snip)

One of the organizers of a petition to place Clinton’s name in nomination has said that on the day before he was killed, Gwatney agreed to back the effort, the only state delegation head to do so. Other Arkansas delegates had also indicated they were ready to support Clinton. As one of the first states called in a roll-call vote, Arkansas could conceivably start a bandwagon effect, a prospect that must certainly have crossed some minds, not only in the Obama campaign but within the Republican Party. It appears both groups have worked in concert to make sure Clinton’s name doesn’t appear anywhere on the November ballot. (snip)

The petition organizer, who communicated on condition of anonymity, said in an email, “We got almost the entire [Arkansas] delegation to say they would sign the petition. We had sent out the petitions to everyone, but since his death they got so distracted that we have not received all of them back. I can tell you that all the other state party chairs in the states are fully run by Obama, and they would not even return our phone calls and were against anything to do with our petition.”

There’s a lot more – with suspicion pointed at both bambi and the republicans. And while the obots are so busy pooh poohing this, screaming about how Gwatney had moved over to obama, apparently he had not.

So, who knows? One thing I do believe, though, is that there are no coincidences here – somebody offed Gwatney for political reasons. Another thing I’m pretty sure of – it will never be fully and honestly investigated.

What a sorry state we are in…

After belonging to the Democratic Party my entire adult life and fighting for equality and fairness, I will not go away after November but will work to restore these values within the DNC.

The fraternity of Obama, Dean, Reid, Kerry, Kennedy along with their pom-pom girls Pelosi and Brazille must be dislodged from the DNC. They are destroying it.

After McCain wins in November, my recommendation is PUMA works to help the above individuals, and others that have turned the DNC into the ugly organization it has become, submit letters of resignation or get defeated at the poll.

LOL! Love the caption, Pat! Another home run.

  • Rich

Good cartoon, and timely. 18 million of anything is hard to stamp out. 18 million smart and dedicated people are impossible to stamp out. If the DNC does not know or accept this, then how can they call themselves the party of the people who understand what the people of America want or need?

If the DNC allows in a caucus state a handful of people can make it difficult for the average citizen in that state to vote and then have that small minority pretend to represent the democratic voters of that state, how is that Democratic? If in those same states the people make it so that elections are not privet and instead make them into face to face confrontation and allow intimidation how is that Democratic? Further more if it makes it so that women if they were to vote their desire have to often publicly go against their husbands or parents and cause family feuds, how is that a good example of family values or good for the people?

If the DNC treats women differently from men in any way, how is that good for the people or Democratic?

I am not clear who the DNC represents except its own idea of power. It does little to represent me or my values or my ideas of Democracy. How does what the DNC has been doing represent you and how has it failed you, the Democratic Party, and the American people.

Pat, the comments to your great cartoon certainly attest to the fact that trying to suppress the righteous anger of Hillary’s 18 million supporters about the snub and disrespect shown by Obama and the DNC leadership toward Hillary has only pushed a lot Hillary’s supporters to vote for McCain or not vote at all. I’m afraid it is much too late for the DNC leadership to get it together and to make amends to Hillary supporters. Only the abrupt resignation of Dean and Donna B and loud and repeated apologies might bring some of the Hillary crowd to consider supporting the Demo ticket. I don’t think apologies are going to happen, and at this point, the Obama/Biden ticket looks doomed to defeat in November.

Country before party, Change is a word not a conviction for Obama, he is a speech in pants and nothing more, he has no plans and to pan him off as another Bill following his plans during a successful 2 terms. Kiss but Ofailure, even the Republicans know that would have been a hard task to defeat, voting McCain , he has pride integrity character, and experience in doing what is right Country before Party and he is a proven, candidate with a record, working across party lines, I may not agree with all his choices , but I feel alot better knowing he will be in charge other than the bow down , i want open arms with terrorist Obama. Puma ban together and one voice and one vote.,, nobama

‘As Donna Brazile resolved in 2003, in order to save the Democratic Party she might have to destroy it first. Good job so far, Donna!’

What she MEANT to say was ‘to save the party she would have to destroy the Clintons’. She sure tried real hard, didn’t she? However, somehow I think it will actually make them stronger especially when The One bombs in Nov.

If Donna Brazille learned one thing from Gore losing to Bush in 2000 it was that it does not matter how you win- just win. She sold her soul and that of the Democratic party to the devil thanks to the like of Karl Rove and those who got the inept Bush in office. The loser- all of us Americans who desperately need a leader who knows what they are doing. Unfortunately it is not the inept Obama. Americans will be the losers if he should get POTUS. Our families economic security, health, freedoms and safety are not a reality show. I will work my heart out till November to keep Obama out of the Oval Office.

Go Your Own Way. . .Donna Brazile-Howard Dean-Nancy Pelosi-Obama.We will not fall in line or come home. You can use Hillary all you want but we are not falling in line.Oh Obama remember when you said”I will get Hillary supporters” No you won’t!

    McCain will…..if not Hillary

I am sick and tired of Hillary “working her heart out” for the ungrateful Obama who has done nothing to reach out to Clinton or her supporters. While, Obama states that Hillary would be on anybody’s vice presidential short list, he doesn’t even give her the time of day or even pretend to do so. If Obama wants people to vote for him because of his judgment, I say, that it really was poor judgment not to even consider her and extremely poor judgment to mock her by sending the dissing text message at 3 a.m.

It is time for Hillary to send Obama off on his own. No one can save “Barack America” now.

Bill Bennett was just interviewed on Cnn and he said, there is a lot of tension between Obama and the Clinton’s ..He was shocked hillary was not picked as his VP,even though he’s glad he didn’t..I guess he’s republican.lol ,,,ANyway he said Obama doesn’t want the Clinton’s anywhere near them, and that its a pretty gutsy thing to do,to go against the CLINTONS…..since the Clinton’s have been around for years, and are powerful people..The polls are even, and Obama is telling his people to chill out. lol

I dont’ think this hillary VP decision is going away.
