Kentucky: Clinton Supporters Protest Clinton Delegate Replacement

It seems that nothing is going as planned for Barky Obama and his Hood Ornament, Howard Dean.

It’s no secret that they have been replacing delegates to ensure votes for Barack Obama at convention time. After all, let’s face the fact that Barky is terribly concerned about being embarrassed during that roll call vote. Since he has no clear ‘mandate’ he is doing what he always does. Fix Things Up So It Looks Better For Him Than It Is. Thus, he has surrepticiously been dumping a Clinton delegate here and a Clinton delegate there and replacing them with Obama delegates–in order to and make his roll call count look prettier than it really is. Later, all his sycophants will yell about how OBVIOUS it is that he is a Real Winner. Oh, he’s a winner all right…..a Real Winner in the figurative sense. Barack Obama is a real piece of work.

Overall, it looks as though they pretty much expected that people were going to sit down and shut up while they worked their magic. Especially those damned women!

At first, the caucus fraud and irregularity situations appeared to be pretty well buried. If you go to Dr. Lynette Long’s dedicated Caucus Fraud site, you will see that silence, Golden as it is for The One, isn’t going to be the order of the day on that subject either. I’ve been informed that Superdelegates are currently the recipients of caucus fraud information. We shall see just how far they are willing to voluntarily comprehend the significance of this.

Meanwhile, Clinton Supporters in Kentucky just can’t shut their damned mouths, you know? They are ticked off and they aren’t shy about saying so. Thank you to my loyal reader, “Just me” for this gem of a link.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) — Fighting between Clinton and Obama supporters continues in Kentucky, as WHAS11 News has learned that Hillary Clinton supporters in Kentucky have filed an official protest with the national Democratic Party.

The complaint alleges that a Hillary Clinton delegate to the national convention was replaced with a Barack Obama supporter, in violation of the party’s rules.

The state party removed Todd Hollenbach, a delegate who supports Clinton, and replaced him with Ruth Ann Palumbo, who supports Obama.

But you see, there is no end to the smarmy behavior slithering out of the DNC. Here’s their little ole’ explanation.

The state party made the change because the DNC requires gender equity at the national convention.

The complaint says that the Kentucky Democratic Party broke the rules when it balanced the gender of the delegate count by replacing a male Clinton supporter with a female Obama supporter.

Delegate Todd Hollenbach was replaced by Ruth Ann Palumbo. Hollenbach supports Clinton, while Palumbo is an Obama supporter.

Ah, suddenly the Gender Card! Apparently, the DNC and Barack Obama think that the people of Kentucky fell off the back of a moving truck. While pretending that the gender they couldn’t give a rat’s ass about suddenly deserves “equity,” they finagled yet another opportunity to remove a Clinton delegate and replace it with an Obama delegate. I suppose they expect gratitude from women for this. After all, at least they are getting hoodwinked bamboozled attention, right?

Obama has been on a “switch the delegate” trip under the radar folks. He wants to make sure that roll call vote isn’t as close as it really would be if he didn’t manipulate the system to make himself look better. He’s been under the radar messing with delegate switching and lopping off heads all over the place. I was going to insert a Florida news link entitled “Obama replaces six Florida delegates,” only to find the link is no longer there. Here’s a Google of that news title. As you can see, it happened, but Winston may have actually jumped out of Orwell’s 1984 again and Poof! It’s gone.

You go ahead and give this “missing link” the benefit of the doubt. But frankly, I wish I had $1000 every time one of the news links about Obama I wrote about in the past year “disappeared”–so I am going to pass on that grace from now on.

      This is not my Party.
      They cheat and steal.
The more I hear the more I learn the less likely I will ever come back. They are rude and misguided. No Thank you.

As a republican, can I just say how refreshing it is to see so many good democrats realize what WE have known all along about the party “elite”?

I know most of you still revile the GOP even though you have seen the light, and will never “join up” with us.

I applaud you all for opening your eyes.

      • Susaninbosque

I thank you very much…. they are not only not my party for this reason, they have now succeeded in doing something I thought I would never see and that is to bend to these practices literally EVERYWHERE…. I just got an email from “Max Cleland” – well, it may have been him – to support Kerry’s new machine about fighting the smears with the truth and I responded with a long email pointing out that I will never support any party which is this undemocratic. Period. How many decades will it take for me to get over this???

How many delegates have to be replaced before they start calling this convention the Reichstag?

    • tzada

CAIR — the Council on American Islamic Relations — as Steven Emerson wrote last week, has broad and deep connections to the terrorist group Hamas. CAIR, or at least its Seattle, Washington chapter, has apparently succeeded in salting the Washington convention delegation with its members and others in sympathy with radical Islam.

Among them may be Syed Arsalan Bukhari, CAIR Seattle chapter president and Jafar “Jeff” Siddiqui who were chosen in caucuses. Washington State Democratic officials have, so far, declined to release information on whether either man — and several others — will be delegates to the national convention.

      • roseeriter

Somebody in that campaign sure does. And its borderline SICK. Everyonce in awhile I wonder if there’s a republican mole in his campaign. I keep trying to find any rhyme or reason why the DNC Selected such an empty suit. His whole campaign has been ‘one for the books.’

  • Sharon

I had already figure that out when I heard that her name was being put in nomination. That is the only way they were going to let it happen. Do they think we are stupid? I wish we knew how many delegates have been replaced?

    • nomnomnom1

I wish the erplaced delegates could be persuaded to show up in Denver and protest in the PUMA gulag. I’d help pay for air fare.

    • CheapEmptySuit

How can he change a Hillary delegate (representing Hillary’s votes) with an Obama delegate. Wasn’t stealing the caucuses and primaries enough for him? The dirty rotten S.O.B. IS GOING TO LOSE IN NOVEMBER. WE WILL NOT TOLERATE BULLCRAP. How dare theys steal this election right from under our noses and not bat an eye. They are all lying, thieving sociopaths and have zero conscience. May the wrath of God(dess) be swift in taking down these crooks.

Any doubt the party has been hijacked? anybody?? anybody?? Anyone trust the main stream to report the truth?? Anyone?? No, were just a bunch of fringe elements who mean nothing, get over it and vote for BOBO, or sit out; they don’t care.. I don’t care how much cash he raises, how much he spends, or how much he talks.. HELL NO! I’ll remember the roll call and vote accordingly against the Brown Shirt Brigade!

    • http://purplechiten.wordpress.com Chiten

I refuse to “sit out”. Sitting out would be giving at least half a vote to bambi. I want to make sure a FULL vote goes AGAINST him!!

      * I don’t live in Florida or Michigan so I should get a full vote right?

  • pumapower

Obama’s machinations are unbelievable and frightening. Hillary’s hands are tied for party unity. She also lacks the political and financial capital to fight the battle now.

Obama will be our nominee, no question. Our task is to document all that his campaign has done to stifle democracy. History will be the judge.

I just want to fast forward to November and see him lose now. It is the only way for vindicate Hillary and her supporters. Obama is doomed for failure. His campaign and his supporters are so blind to reality… they still believe in a 20 pt blow out against McCain?

Also, his supporters are still talking about how horrible the Clintons are. They are totally beyond rescue.

I want them to all fail miserably. Only Clinton Democrats for me.

    • meileen

      Well said.

Can’t post a link here, but Moveon has just sent out a video about how Obambi needs help as he is not doing as well as they wanted. It’s titled, “Special Election Briefing: 5 Things You Should Know”

Hope the McCain campaign will do something to counter that to reach those same demographics.

I’m thinking they will still the vote in November, a la Bush. Obama proclaimed that he will win at a fundraiser, in CA, I think….

But…I don’t think the Republicans will wimp out of a fight over the Nov. election. Unless this is all part of a huge master plan…

    • NoMoreDemocraticParty

The Democratic Party as it currently now exists aas well as the DNC and its leadership have become a huydra-headed monster.

The entire democratic party as well as the DNC and its leaders must go down in flames and that includes all the down ballot votes in all of the states where all of these nefarious actions have been perpetrated against the citizens and voters and pledged delegates for Clinton.

It is the ONLY way to teach them a lesson they will never forget. They must be eviscerated and terminated.

No other actions can teach them anything about the real voters and makers of this nation, which is the people who vote them in or vote them out.

  • blog force one

Barky and the Obommunists have thrown so many under the bus and they are now throwing Clinton delegates Under the bus hog tied. The problem is : THE BUS HAS ALL FLAT TIRES AND THE WHEELS ARE FALLING OFF !

    • http://purplechiten.wordpress.com Chiten

It’s being carried on the backs of all those thrown under it :(

  • vinnie

I don’t get this at all. I attended 4 caucuses in Colorado, and was urged to attend so that Hillary could get her pledge delegates based on some formula. As I understand it, each candidate has a number of pledged delegates based on votes from the caucuses. Remember each time I went as her delegate at the caucuses, I represented an X number of people who voted for her. How can the DNC just replaced a delegate who is supposed to represent their precinct, congressional district and the overall state?? WTF?

    • http://firefox AnnieCarmel

The same way he stole her votes and same way he was given all of the votes from the other candidates who had dropped out. He’s a thief and his supporters are immoral thugs.

    • bert

As I read this post that was my question too. How can the ‘rules’ suppport replacing a Clinton delegate with an Obama one? Why the “F” have an election at all then? Just let the DNC do what they want. That is what Dean & Co. have done this year anyway. But why go through the charade?

This is not the Party of the people any longer. This is a sham.

      • Truudy

They have to have a vote or they will not get the 50 million from Home Land Security.

    • CheapEmptySuit

I just asked that same question upthread. Call DNC and ask them.

    • Ted

obviously they can’t. The automatic delegates are compelled by rule who to vote for. This is all just made-up stuff, which is why it is not reported anywhere else.

      • http://purplechiten.wordpress.com Chiten

Then why is obama projecting that Hillary will only get about 32% on the roll call vote of pledged delegates intead of the 49% she has?
It’s not reported elsewhere because anything anti-obama is scrubbed from MSM sites as fast as it’s discovered.
Apparently it WAS reported, by a TV station in Louisville KY, that’s “somewhere”.

      • John House

Uh, “automatic delegates” is the name that Harold Ickes was trying to get “super delegates” renamed to. Pledged delegates aren’t “automatic” delegates. They’re just pledged delegates.

    • elise

It’s the same thing he did to his opponents in Chicago, vinnie. Millstone here in Colorado made a comment, overheard by Obama delegate, complaint filed, threat of losing credentials. Who knows? The Colorado Party dropped the the whole thing because she hired an attny, but she will still have to be approved by the credentials committee in Denver before the convention begins. They convened a meeting in WI to create a new rule stripping Bradoshevich (sp) because she made a public statement about voting for McCain. In FL they elected at-large delegates for Obama which should have been given to Hillary by virtue of the popular vote. I still wonder what stick they used to keep Hillary from taking it to the convention floor for a fair vote. I’m not sure, but I don’t think she has released her delegates. Harold Ikes reserved the right to challenge FL and Mi at the convention, but now Obama has requested the entire delegation be seated after he opposed it for months and after his campaign had chosen to replace her delegates with his. There are no rules in the DNC which can’t be gamed or changed. Donna Brazil is a liar when she said rules are rules. The rules are what they say they are. Too bad so many people are too apathetic to follow what has happened since Hillary’s speech suspending her campaign. I’m afraid too many think all the issues have been resolved and are planning to stay home or vote McCain. My daughter was home from school this weekend and she said she won’t vote for either McCain or Obama. She is in grad school and most of her friends feel the same.

  • JP49

Obama is a snake. The democratic party is a snake pit now. I don’t want any part of the democratic party or Obama. I’m voting straight republican. They can kiss my ass goodbye. I intend to work for the republicans, give money to the republicans and help get John McCain elected as our next POTUS. The democratic party is dead, DEAD. There is no democracy in that party. The worst thing in the world any of us can do is support the corrupt party that took its place. Hillary will run again in 2012 and we’ll be ready for this bullshit next time. We need to make sure to get rid of the democrats in the party now especially those backing Obama.

      No way vote for McCain.

      • CheapEmptySuit

Yeah vote for McKinney and pay reparations for AA’s only..yeah right..how much is 40 acres and a mule going to cost us?
If you vote for anyone other than McCain you are tossing your vote to Obama. WAKE UP! Hold your nose whatever, but it’s all about STOPPING OBAMA in whatever way is necessary. We do not want a dictatorship. Think.

        • NoMoreDemocraticParty

Keeping the “democratic party” out of the White House is a paramount undertaking that must now happen.

The only way to do that is to vote for McCain, since we now know that Clinton’s name being put in nomination to be roll-called by “her” delegates has been compromised and has been “gamed” to fail by the DNC, Pelosi and Reid.

Clinton cannot say anything at this point. She cannot destroy her only chances for a continued political life.

But we the voters can give her some moral satisfaction by preventing this hideous invasion of political thugs, political mafioso and political terrorists from getting into the WhiteHouse.

A Vote for John McCain is the promise to Clinton to keep democratcy safe and safeguarded by the american people, the voters.

The Democratic Party as it currently now exists as well as the DNC and its leadership have become a hydra-headed monster.

The entire democratic party as well as the DNC and its leaders must go down in flames and that includes all the down ballot votes in all of the states where all of these nefarious actions have been perpetrated against the citizens and voters and pledged delegates for Clinton.

No other actions can teach them anything about the real voters and makers of this nation, which is about “We the people”, who vote them in or vote them out.

    • http://purplechiten.wordpress.com Chiten

Race isn’t an issue in our objection to Obama. For me, it’s the only plus he has going for him. It’s his utter failure as a candidate we are against.
Most obama trolls always throw out the race card immediately. “you aren’t for obama? You’re a RACIST”. Well, it’s just not true.
The color of a person’s skin has nothing to do with the morality of their character. Obama is unworthy, unqualified, unexperienced and unfit to be POTUS. I don’t care if he’s black, white, yellow, red, green, purple or polka-dot. It’s OBAMA we don’t like, and it has nothing to do with race.

  • emj

I’ve heard MoveOn is reconsidering its endorsement of Obama since they’re realizing he won’t win.

  • sayitisntso

    My head wants to explode.

If there is a disturbance in Denver, Pampers could get the national guard called and just cancel the GE. Wouldn’t that be just ducky?

So we are mad as hell and not going to take it anymore, but can’t win without a major social upheaval. What a choice!

    • http://firefox AnnieCarmel

Fortunately, he doesn’t have the power to cancel a GE but if he chose to cancel his own participation, I’d be happy.

    • rw

Actually, that could be a possibility, the cancellation of the election. And if the B O wins, one can also toy with the possibility that there will be a military coup for the first time in US history. But, then again, if this is election year is democracy, how bad would military leadership be.

      • AnnieO

I tend to doubt that the military leaders have much respect for BO

        • rw

yes, so it would be coup against him not for him.

        • tzada

I think according to the law that the National Guard is the only body of military allowed to do anything on the US soil. However I have heard on “blogd” from people who said that they were the NEW Black Panthers, who said that group would do something in Denver if Barry did not get the nomination. Keep in mind that the UN has been called in by some of the Democrats from the House. Also don’t forget the police force from Chicago (13,000) MAY (not sure so Google it for yourselves) have been issued assault weapons, similar to those used in Iraq. Why would they need those? Just the Chicago Way?

    • http://purplechiten.wordpress.com Chiten

obama doesn’t have the authority to cancel the election or even the convention. The election could only be postponed by bush if we were directly under attack in the midst of a war on our home soil (which could happen). But that would be a power grab by bush (which I wouldn’t rule out), not one by obama.
In November, if obama survives the convention, McCain will beat him by a 3 to 1 margin (75% to 25%). All the republicans and independants and half the democrats just happens to work out that way.

  • Katmoon

It’s like he played it in chicago, there is a “way”, to disqualify a delegate, than they will. Loading the deck, stacking the committees responsible and thinking no one would notice. Besides being a bully, and a liar, being a cheat has been pretty obvious from his first plagiarized debate response, or lifted speech passages.

Yep. I will admit it sure looks like that’s exactly what they did.

    http://polwatchers.typepad.com/pol_watchers/2008/08/clinton-backers-challenge-changes-to-delegate-roster.html

I don’t see this as being typical. But I concur it shouldn’t happen. The new Obama delegate should be replaced with a Clinton supporter, and you’re within your rights to insist that happen. Especially since Clinton’s name looks like it’s going to be on the ballot.

The Florida situation wasn’t so bad. As I understood the story, Obama delegates were replaced by other Obama delegates.

I’ve got no problem with Wisconsin, either. The replaced delegate there had declared her support for McCain.

This, however, isn’t the sort of thing I want to see.

    • KarenG

The delegate who did this was a Hillary delegate and she was replaced with an Obama delegate.
Her comment was that she would not vote for Obama in the general election and had nothing to do with her role as delegate. She should have at least been replaced by a delegate for Hillary. Why punish Hillary and take away a vote for her, she had nothing to do with it.

      • CheapEmptySuit

She’s a Hillary delegate that raised gobs of money and got kicked to the curb. Why would she support Obama..she’s a Hillary delegate. Her name is Debra. They need to reinstate her.

By hook or by crook does not a democracy make. Where are the defenders of Our Constitution who swore to “protect and serve”?

Is the DNC trying to provoke a bloody confrontation to justify their unconstitutional behavior? Maybe the members of Our Constitutional government should consider disbanding all political parties and reassert the states control over Our elections.

    • PamFlorida

Maybe the DNC is not so fond of the Constitution. After all, the Dems have continually given BushCo the votes to infringe on the Bill of Rights and helped him expand his Executive powers.

  • candymarl

Obama regularly scrubs his site. The news media scrubs unflattering stories about Obama. Sometimes they don’t report these stories at all. I’ve noticed if there is any negative Obama presidential campaign coverage some things tend to happen:

    1. The MSM/Corporate media spend a great deal of time explaining what Obama really meant.

    2. The MSM/Corporate media accuse Obama’s opponent of some nefarious deed. (see the MSM stories about John McCain “cheating” in the debate)

    3. The MSM/Corporate media edit Obama’s original remarks to make them seem less damning or controversial.

    4. The MSM/Corporate media fail to report the story at all. See Obama’s meeting with T. Boone Pickens. Hardly a peep. Hillary met with Scaife and it was lamented as the end of democracy. It was taken as proof that she was a Republican plant.

If Obama were held to the same harsh scrutiny that Hillary received from both the left and the right he wouldn’t last 5 minutes.

The Wayback Machine periodically copies and archives internet sites as they exist at the moment the copy is taken. Even a site that has totally disappeared remains unchanged in the fossil record. All you need to know is the URL. Plug it into Wayback, and you can pull up a picture of the site as it existed at various points in time.

      Here’s the Wayback address:

      http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

Inserting the current URL brings up the past record. If a site has vanished entirely or the address has been changed, you can often still find the dead URL link via a Google search.

The Project for a New American Century site, for example, was pulled down in late 2007. They couldn’t get rid of the Wayback archive, however, so you can still look at it to see what those guys have been up to. Wayback has kept the evidence inquiring minds need to see. Here’s what they’ve got on ‘em:

T boone Pickens is Nancy Poopelosi’s ex enemy. They are all in bed with each other now and going to make billions on a scam to get people to think they are going to provide alternative energy for cheap. Don’t you trust this wheeling and dealing they are doing under the guise of an alturistic endeavor. Buy stock in Pickens company before it skyrockets.

      • ziggy

        T. Boone Pickens is the first guy to put out a model for an alternative energy crash program that really could work.

Where’s John McCain’s plan? He doesn’t have one. Unless you’re impressed by his simplistic gimick of offering a $300 million dollar prize to build a better battery. That’s being worked on already, and the economic payoff already exists in the potential profits to be made.

M.I.T. researchers have recently figured out the missing piece to the alternative energy puzzle. Electrical storage isn’t going to be a problem. Large scale production of the energy to be stored is what matters. That comes down to harnessing the inexhaustable power of the sun and wind. We already have the technology. All that’s required is the political will to do it.

Ten years from now, we could have all the cheap energy we’ll ever need, and greenhouse gas emissions would be dramatically reduced as a side-effect.

Ten years from now, we could tell the Arabs to take a hike.

The only thing standing in the way is Big Oil, their lobbyists, and the politicans they have in their pockets.

  • AnnieO

Is there anyway to track which delegates get replaced before the convention other than just news stories? It would be great to have a clear and large picture of this fraud before the roll-call!

    • Katmoon

Yes, go to the DNC Convention website, then go to a particular states home page, match the names, now if they have updated either or both lists, there isn’t a way to know, unless you back track to somewhere the original delegate lists posted, (yuck, but)cnn did have a list, that was old, not sure if they still do. Pick a state, and see what you get. I checked my state, so far so good. No changes, and believe me there would be a hell of stink here if they try it, TN.

All of this needs to be reported to Lou Dobbs, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh. If people could e-mail and call these people about this it would be good. I called Lou Dobbs on his radio show about this. I asked him to investigate this, but I don’t know if I got the point across.

The games begin, but the country loses. Honestly, I am praying for John McCain. While I don’t agree with many of his policies, I do see a dedicated public servant in him. I also think he knows that being a true leader is a scared trust. If Hillary is not our president in 2008, I pray John McCain will meet the challange in front of him- govern fairly, wisely, and for ALL America.

    the DNC is beyond redemption.

the obamacans have blatantly trashed Democracy. they do not deserve to be anywhere near a seat of power. very dangerous folks, they.

the the DNC corruption that keeps showing it’s ugly head continues to amaze and disturb me.

howard dean has lost what was left of his mind. nancy pelosi is drenched in kool-aid. david axelrod and co. have sold their souls. the bought off superdelegates disgust me. no matter what chicanery continues to manifest, barack obama must never be potus… unless the criminals who have raised him to where he is count or “handle” the GE vote. there is such a level of corruption i think it’s already in the bag for obama no matter what we do. John McCain is not part of the picture, though he will go down fighting and exposing obama for who and what he is.

    However….

millions of Americans cannot wait to cast a vote against barack obama, the “new world order messiah”.

the harbinger of your worst sci-fi nightmare.

i will never vote for barack obama or the people he works for.

never will i again support the “democrat” elites who have absconded with the rights of the American people.

i am now re regestered as Independent and i will vote for John McCain in November if Hillary Clinton does not miraculously overcome the machine that controls the show.

    and the devil be damned.

Ha, ha! Huff & Puff “reporting” that Pat Buchanan, good Catholic that he is, is on the way with an ad about Barry’s vote on the late term / live birth abortion bill. They’re already giving the standard excuse. Hope Buchanan anticipates that and cuts them off at the pass.

And, still boo hoo, waaaah. McCain cheated at Saddleback! Sob, sniffle.

Earlier today on Fox (Cavuto?), a Dem campaign worker crying the blues over the Hillary people who just won’t mind the party and fall in line and vote for Barry. Saying that after her last appearance, she got 2 days of “hate mail” (call that “No we won’t” mail)…Fox apparently also got a lot of angry feedback.

My answer to them today is “Oh we got over it alright but you’re not going to like the outcome.”

Reminds me of when people pray for a specific thing and when they don’t get it, profess that they weren’t heard. Yeah, God, higher power, whatever you want to call it, heard alright. You just didn’t get the answer you wanted.

It is that simple…

I’m glad he’s showing himself publicly to be the joke I have thought he was from the beginning. He’s shrub with a tan. His promises to take care of the poor folk are just his sales campaign to buy votes.

I find it interesting that in the primaries Obama only won 18 states. Out of those 18 states, he is only predicted to win four: Illinois, Vermont, Delaware and Maryland. Out of the rest, seven are considered Battleground states: Connecticut, Missouri, Virginia, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina and Oregon. Too bad we don’t elect our president by Caucus. Obama has no chance in a general election. He is unelectable.

  • Charles Monaghan

Obama….you are not fooling anyone…you are crooked, deceitful, a pathological liar, a racist, antisemitic, corrupt as can be, bought off the superdelegates and the media, in the tank with Howard Dean. a Nazi and terrorist associator, friends with Odinga, friends with a person who damns America….do you think the people are all insane to elect you President…my God…there will be a riot in Washington…Obama go home…

  • EightBelles

Go ask Alice Palmer if Barack Obama plays by the rules. Apparently the new “Democratic” Party likes its politics served up Chicago gangster style liberally seasoned with corruption and fraud. Considering that the junior senator from Illinois barely eked out 10% of the popular vote in the Kentucky primaries, the DNC shouldn’t have to comb through many blades of bluegrass to locate a Hillary Clinton female superdelegate. The part about the party’s wish to balance out gender is such phony baloney it makes me think the DNC is slowly starting to self destruct right before our eyes.

My plan come Election Day was to write in Hillary Clinton’s name for President only I’m starting to get a sneaking suspicion that the Party of Obama will create a novel way of stealing that one. Clearly this leaves me with no other recourse but to vote for the senior senator from New Mexico, Mr. McCain. It’s going to be a lot easier than I ever thought it would be.

I don’t know how the convention voting works, but I’m assuming that if Hillary doesn’t win on the first ballot, there’ll be follow-up voting, in which her delegates will be pressured to show “party unity” by voting for The Lightbringer.

It strikes me that this would be a good time for those who still can’t stomach voting for him to follow his own example and simply vote “present”…

    • CheapEmptySuit

There is no ambiguity on the rule-breaking by the KY Dem Party. Clinton won KY by a landslide, there is no caucus, and it is a strict closed primary. The 20 Clinton delegates who filed the lawsuit are long-standing loyal Democrats. The purpose of the lawsuit is to follow the wishes of Kentucky voters who voted for Clinton, and to protest the KDP’s breaking party rules by supplanting a Clinton delegate with a confirmed Obama supporter.

You can protest the actions of KY Dem Party Executive Jeremy Horton by email at jhorton@KyDemocrat.com or Chairman Jennifer Moore at info@KyDemocrat.com

If I am repeating a question , but…I have loyally voted for a Democrat for President and all down ticket Democratic candidates since 1972, despite the fact that my family has always been staunch Repugnican. What I would like to know…is how many instances have occured in the relatively recent past where a substantial number of party stalwarts like me have pushed back against the party elite and said…”just say no deal!!!” I may not know my party history so well, but I have never in almost 40 years of voting as a loyal Democrat witnessed the widespread rejection of the “mainstream rank and file” and the DNC’s hand-picked candidate. I don’t believe this has happened before…hence the unanticipated push-back rejection/rebellion of and against the DNC’s sock-puppet candidate Obama…a “Sound and Fury signifying absolutely nothing”.

    Obama replaces six Florida delegates

HOLLYWOOD – Former Sen. Bob Graham, a state legislator and a Broward County Commissioner gained seats in Florida’s delegation to the Democratic National Convention Saturday as Sen. Barack Obama scored an early tactical victory among the state’s combative party activists.

Leon County Democratic Chairman Rick Minor was among casualties of the delegation “purge” by Obama, who ousted six delegates and two alternates and replaced them with his own choices.
Leon County Schools Superintendent Jackie Pons survived the purge.
“I’m disappointed with this, I would have liked to be a delegate,” said Minor. “I don’t think anyone has a greater right to be upset about this than me but, let me tell you, it is much more important that we focus on the goal. We have to focus on putting this country back on track and electing Sen. Barack Obama as the next president of the United States.”
At a meeting of the Florida delegation, a voice vote on accepting Obama’s changes was too close to call. Minor and other party leaders pleaded for unity and another vote was taken, this time with members standing or sitting to show their positions.
The “ayes” clearly had it, by a glance around the room, so the vote was not tallied.
Obama exercised his right to review his slate of 67 delegates – focusing on the 26 at-large seats and party leaders or elected officials supporting him. Since Obama clinched the nomination early this month, the party has been trying to sooth lingering dissension in the ranks of its most active partisans.
Sen. Hillary Clinton won the Jan. 29 primary with 870,986 votes to Obama’s 576,214. Ex-Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina was third with 251,562 votes.
That left Clinton with 105 pledged delegates to Obama’s 67 and 13 for Edwards, who dropped out. The state also has 26 unpledged super delegates to the Denver convention.
While the party leadership has fallen in line behind Obama, both parties consider the popular vote in November up for grabs – in a state with 27 electoral votes that have proved vital in recent elections. Ashley Walker, Obama’s state political director, said at a morning labor caucus of Florida delegates that the Illinois senator will campaign hard in the state.
“We need your help now, it’s time for the party to come together,” she said. “We’re planning to put on the ground one of the largest operations Florida has ever seen.”
Hundreds of Democrats and party donors gathered at the towering Westin Diplomat hotel for the party’s annual “Jefferson Jackson Day” dinner, featuring Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell Saturday night. Rendell, a major backer of Sen. Hillary Clinton, is considered a potential running mate for Obama.
During a busy day of delegation meetings and caucuses for blacks, Hispanics, gays, women and other party organizations, vendors hawked Obama T-shirts and bumper stickers in halls of the cavernous convention center. Many Democrats wearing Clinton shirts and lapel buttons shopped for Obama gear.
“I think people are getting together and we’ll see more of this,” said Lydia Lowell-Sherman, a national convention delegate from Lee County, who pasted an Obama sticker on her “HILLARY” T-shirt. “I’d love to see her on the ticket with Obama. That would be wonderful, but of course it’s his choice.”
Democratic National Committeeman Jon Ausman of Tallahassee, a super delegate supporting Clinton, had warned that party unity would suffer in November if Obama purged too many of the at-large and party officer delegates. Tallahassee City Commissioner Allan Katz and Kirk Wager, a Miami attorney who is Obama’s national finance chairman, said there were longtime Obama supporters who deserved to be delegates but did not make the list chosen by the state party in post-primary caucuses.
Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink, an at-large delegate who has endorsed Obama, joined in the unity plea. After the turmoil over the primary and its aftermath, with the Republicans concentrating on delivering Florida’s 27 electoral votes to Sen. John McCain, Sink said Democrats can’t afford to show any weakness behind Obama.
“The only way we can make Florida important and key and critical is for us to be united,” she said. “When we walk outside this room, the media, the press, are going to try to divide us … we’re not going to let the media drive a wedge between us like they have in the past, and say the Democrats are weakened.”
