Cranky, Smart Ass Kid—OBAMA (F**king Disaster Update)

Obama and his team of “geniuses” certainly have perfected the art of shooting themselves in the foot. Appearing to be in charge and the ability to project an image of strength are critical traits and must be on display if a President hopes to succeed. Based on today’s performance, Barack is clueless.
Here’s a taste:
Whether you agree or disagree with the Republicans, give them credit for one thing. They showed up better prepared and certainly snookered the media in the lead up to the main event by mimicking Brer Rabbit and pleading not to be thrown into the Healthcare Summit Briar Patch with the Golden Messiah of Chicago. Once in the Briar Patch the Republicans set about debunking the media mantra that the Republicans are the party of “no.” They were organized, articulate and to the point.
Obama getting snippy and appearing churlish are not the kinds of traits folks want to see their President display. Instead of a genial smiling Jack Kennedy or Ronald Reagan we got Jimmy Carter in black face. Carter and Obama are brothers separated at birth. Both men taken themselves way too seriously. Both men have paper thin skin when confronting criticism. And Obama, in short order, is likely to join Carter as another one-term wonder.
UPDATE: OK, I watched/listened until 12:30pm and then I spent the afternoon playing golf. Here’s what I missed–I know that FOX and CNN both promised at the outset that they would cover the Health Care summit in its entirety. Well, guess what happened?
Obama put together a production of government in the television age, a health care reality show. He used his platform to direct discussion on the specifics of reform, cut off opponent posturing and make points of his own.
Yet he was only a host—not a producer—and television networks eager to cover it at first lost interest as time went on.
By 2:30 p.m., at the opening of the session’s second half, Fox News Channel had shifted to its studio show (occasionally showing a mute picture of the summit on a portion of its screen) and CNN’s Wolf Blitzer was reporting on poll results. Both covered it fitfully in the afternoon. MSNBC moved on to the Finland-Sweden ice hockey game from the Olympics. PBS aired “Between the Lions.”
When you are Barack “The Messiah” Obama and you lose CNN and PBS you are toast. But wait, there is more. Allahpundit at HotAir details the punditry reaction. More bad news for Barack:
I don’t think they seriously expected it to revive health care but they did expect enough pwnag3 by The One to buy them some extra cover on using reconciliation. Didn’t happen. (Not that that will stop them.) Obama’s problem today was that he couldn’t fly solo; he tried to, speaking for more minutes at the meeting than either the Democrats or Republicans did, but surrounding him with sad sacks like Reid and Harkin was bound to dilute the effect. Lotttt of water mixed in with the Hopenchange whiskey today.
My favorite reaction thus far comes from Marc Ambinder, echoing Kevin Kline talking about Vietnam at the end of “A Fish Called Wanda”: It was a tie!
And finally, over at FOX, Frank Luntz put together a focus group that blistered Obama and the Democrats (I’m looking for the link. Your help appreciated.)
Here’s the link (thanks, Linda and Kim).
In short, Barack sundered his vision of health care at the the “summit” today. Otherwise known as, “A Fucking Disaster!”
