Getting from A to B the Hard Way

OK Go outdid themselves with this amazing creative video.

Kind of reminds me of how our country does its business though—meandering about trying this and that to get somehwre–anywhere–and ending up getting shot down anyway.

Video Credits
Directed by James Frost, OK Go and Syyn Labs. Produced by Shirley Moyers. The official video for the recorded version of “This Too Shall Pass” off of the album “Of the Blue Colour of the Sky”. The video was filmed in a two story warehouse, in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. The “machine” was designed and built by the band, along with members of Synn Labs over the course of several months.

Amazing how much energy some people will expend on doing something to amaze and amuse that ultimately leads to nothing useful. It would be hard to top this one, but you can be sure someone will try.  Fun to watch. Creative and technically brilliant.

Wonderful and amazing video!  What people can accomplish if they only set their mind to do it.  This makes me feel like all kinds of new solutions to today’s problems are possible.

What an unusual comment.  If true then all entertainment is a wast of time, and people spend their entire lives getting it right.

  • Freedom Fighter

I wonder how they operated the camera… Considering how steady the video was, I thought that was the most intriguing part.

  • Whizzbang

Found this with Google. Seems like they had an absolute blast!

Our local dirt race track (yeah, I admit it) ends the season with something they call “trailer races”.  The general idea is that you hitch up some kind of trailer to the back of a vehicle and then get out there on the track and go around with a whole lot of other trailer-towing vehicles.  Trailers can be anything on wheels.  What you get is everything that can be put on wheels…real trailers of course but also barbecue pits, outhouses, and thirty-foot lengths of pipe to name a few.  If you lose your trailer you’re flagged out.  Otherwise anything goes, as you can see below.

mr. creeper’s brother was aghast at such destruction.  I laughed till my sides hurt.  Wonder what’s at work there.

Thank you SO much, Pat, for starting my day off with a laugh.

Now, with luck there should be a YouTube video embedded below.  Hail Mary.

Hmmm…Avast reports a Trojan Horse on that website.

You’re right, Whizzbang.  It IS weird.  I tried it again (see how much I trust you?) and got no report the second time.

  • creeper

On further perusal of Avast, the Trojan reported was “JSPumsee”.  Not much info out there (googling gets a whole three hits).  Seems to be a false positive from Avast.  Sorry for waving a red flag.

Great, only thing I wish they had been standing in clean white coveralls for the last shot when the cannons shoot paint on to them.

  • arcadianwind

Amazing! Now, If only our congress could work half this effectively…. and some other branches of Government, as well.

  • Tricia

I love the way people find to amuse themselves.  Most of the time it’s really fun. It didn’t look like anyone could get seroiusly hurt, but I wouldn’t attach anything to my truck that I wanted kept in good shape.

  • Tricia

That is a great interview–and especially fun after seeing the video.

Now that’s my kind of NASCAR!  Thanks creeper . . . Hey, didn’t I run into you at the demolition derby?

  • Tricia

Yeah–I agree Betty.  And I wish the first guy was also in a clean suit–I thought it was going to be a slasher video LOL!

  • Tricia

I should have added, however, that I have watched it 5 times.  Such fun!

  • creeper

Don’t think so, oowawa.  I’m not normally a fan of destruction.  But this was such fun and a great end to the season.  Dog only knows how long it took ‘em to clean up the track afterward.

If it ever warms up, I’ll see ya’ at the races.
