Honestly, there is probably some evidence for DNC pull in a normal year out of a field of two or more competent, experienced candidates. I don’t know, though, last primary season how much of a difference party backing would have made to voters who beyond all shadow of a doubt perceived Obama as sincere, or as having the passion, drive or desire to be president. We shouldn’t forget also that Hillary made some key mistakes that cost her the early lead in Iowa.

Now it’s too late to put her on the 2008 ticket and people are learning a harsh lesson about getting what they begged for.

I must disagree with you, Craig did not remain silent. As a good journalist, he did not voice a favorite unlike Chis and the other talking heads at MSNBC during the primaries. Craig is a regular guess on Imus and he was one of the first I heard asking about the “high IQ” and other questions. But Imus was on the horse station during that time and was not picked up by the MSM.
I am happy that he is not on the joke of a show and hope that others will follow in his foot steps.

Crawford was the lone Hillary supporter on MSNBC, you know the channel that bashed Hillary unrelentlessly, and Crawford was given hardly any chance to voice his opinion. I can totally understand Crawford’s frustration…MSNBC was THE OBAMA channel, with the likes of Olbermann and Mathews bashing Hillary at every chance they got. It was totally disgusting. Crawford did not engage.

I remember way back when Mario Cuomo was running for 2nd term gov. in NYS, whoever was running against him kept referring to him as Mario instead of Gov. Cuomo. Gov. Cuomo called him out on it. I guess this is an old tool of politicians.

I’m not so sure Crawford was silenced as much as drowned out. I remember Crawford as being one of the few MSNBC commentators who actually defended the Clintons, both Bill and Hillary, and spoke about the derangement in the press for taking potshots with little to no evidence.

Was he loud enough, strident enough? Perhaps not. But he certainly wasn’t a Matthews or Olbermann [but then who is?].

Going to Fox? Hummm. Depends where they put Crawford or he’ll simply be drowned out again. I’m at the point where I don’t like any of these news outlets; they all have an agenda and too often it has little to do with reporting the news.

Amy, Not sure what Kool-Aid you are talking about. It is likely all about money. Always is. Craig Crawford is leaving his contract only three months shy of his contract ending. That is a pretty good indicator it is all about money. He probably did not like his new contract. Funny he is only now complaining about something Chris Mathews apparently said over a year ago. Seems pretty disingenuous. If it really bothered him, don't you think he would have left or said something a long time ago. Seems like he is just making excuses for leaving because he did not get the contract he wanted. The fact that he said he was going to Fox, and then retracted, clearly says to me he is potentially jumping ship to FOX, probably for money. If he was so worried about working at MSNBC because he thinks it has gotten too ideological or too opinionated, then why would he go to FOX, which is so much more ideological. Seems like complete BS to me. He also made hints that he was only ever invited on MSNBC to talk about Palin, which he said was getting boring. That may be valid, but if they were offering you good money, who cares. Craig Crawford is a very minor player. Hard to read anything in to what some minor player wants to do or even thinks. This is a complete non-story. You are stretching Amy to find something to bash the "left" with. I could only imagine the politics and BS that goes on at FOX. For example, Murdoch's kids do not like Ailes. I suspect when Rupert is gone and the kids take-over, FOX is going to change big time.
