Jihad Jane and the Future of Counter Terrorism

Blazing headlines in the Washington Post today about a loser of a middle-aged woman who declared herself, “Jihad Jane” and embarked on a failed effort to recruit people for unspecified acts of terrorism. She has no military or scientific skill. Certainly not a bombmaker. Just an angry, lost soul. Of course, we have to go on national alert for a crazy bitch like this.

Keep that in mind when you watch the following:

I love this.

We have so many government civil servants ready to fight or capture a terrorist that we easily have at least 1000 government workers dedicated to combating terrorism for single terrorist. Those damn terrorists are not cooperating. Instead of multiplying they are being whacked, imprisioned and disillusioned. But don’t let that stop us from spending (and wasting) billions of dollars to fight terrorists and build enormous bureaucracies while ignoring the fact that there are fewer terrorists today than ten years ago. We need perpetual fear. But hey, we all know why we were attacked on 9-11–we did not have enough government bureacracies and bureaucrats. Let’s just keep scaring the shit out of people and convincing them that they will die unless they let the government torture at will, raise defense spending and surrender civil rights. The way to safety is more government, right?

    “middle-aged woman” “crazy bitch”

    Um, Um Um Um Ummmmmmmmmmm

    :-E

  • Larry Johnson

And if she was a he I would call him a “crazy bastard.”  Lighten up.

  • carol haka

Hey, I’m all for small squads with the sole purpose of moving in and out of countries and taking out the bad guys – what we have been led to believe is the way the Israelis do it.

    8-)

  • AC

What a great video scene.  Too many cooks.

  • Peggy Sue

When my husband came home tonight [he'd read the story on Jihad Jane], he said. “You’re not doing this, right?  On your off time.”

I think I’ve convinced him that no, though I have serious problems with the Government, I am not, nor would I ever be a terrorist sympathizer.

It was a good laugh over dinner.

What’s not so funny is this constant state of fear that we’re all suppose to be in over “foreign” terrorists or terrorist sympathizers.  I suggest we look closer at home, take a good, hard look at the economic terrorists hiding in plain sight. They’re unlikely to be wearing strange garb or speaking with an accent.  More like expensive 3-piece suits, nifty attache cases and speaking perfect, well-parsed English.

The clip was great, Larry.  Very on point!

  • carol haka

……. as in “lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.” ?

    :’(

  • Docelder

But we need some diversity in terrorists so that we can’t profile middle eastern male types. We will surrender so much more freedom this way if the bad guys can be anybody and not just anybody who looks middle eastern and male. The lady probably just fell off her haldol. But, what the hell… she’s white so run with the jihad jane story. If it fits the narrative, then tell the story. How much of the reported news these days is mostly theater?

  • carol haka

Oh, I’m sorry, you said “speaking perfect, well-parsed English”!  No one at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. with those qualities.

    :-D

“The way to safety is more government, right?”

The way to health is more government.
The way to employment is more government.
The way to weight loss is more government.
The way to learning is more government.
The way to all things …. is more government.
This is what we are told every day, with every new t.v. speech, by our leader.
Hear and obey … this is the way.

  • rw

great video…really, really sad if even a smidgen of truth.

  • rw

go for it Docelder….reported news these days is mostly theater…

  • Onofre’s arm

The woman talking to the fake postal worker was the terrorist, I just KNOW it! It’s always the one you least suspect, that’s why they should be the first to get nabbed!

Her particular cell would later sew the nuclear codes into a patchwork quilt, that was sent to a charity that is a known subversive front that forwarded the quilt to a homeless operative who completely devoured the entire quilt when he realized that the FBI was closing in on him. Forensic experts were unable to reconstruct the quilt.

  • Yttik

This scared me, the enthusiam and hysteria over the need to now start profiling middle aged white women. As the “experts” have said, this just goes to show you we have to be alert to terrorists recruiting “our women.”

Right, like you haven’t profiled us already??! All that crap about boob bombers required a lawsuit to stop the damn searches. All us mothers with our two ounces of exploisve breast milk, sound familiar? Go to an airport, look at who they have shoeless and passing thru body scaners. It isn’t young Middle Eastern Muslim men.

Women have a long history of being easy targets for hysteria. If we aren’t dancing naked in the moonlight with the devil we’re probably aiding and abetting terrorism. This one woman whacko was all it took to send the experts in a tailspin, “see I told you those women were crazy!”

  • TeakWoodKite

Why is it that when the Israels do it, everyone gets there panties in a bunch but when the effort was a combined effort no one says a word?

    oops.

  • Hokma

FYI, today’s was Obama’s 52nd speech on healthcare.
and with ever speech the favorables for government run healthcare get lower and lower and Obama’s poll numbers get lower and lower (he is actually beginning to close in on Bush Jr. numbers).

It is sadly ironic that the US was created to limit government power and maximize individual choice.

  • Peggy Sue

No.  You can look to DC.  Then Wall St and every financial capitol around the world.  That’s where the true terrorists are.  Sipping their Chardonnay, hiding in plain sight.

  • sowsear

For awhile there a year or so ago, I was selected for advanced screening everytime I went through an airport. What was it about a plump, grey haired, blue eyed lady dressed in frumpy clothes that they thought I needed extra attention. How random was I?

  • Onofre’s arm

Careful Hokma, this type of comment, that is disparaging to Obama and the HC bill’s chances, just might attract Prime Obot. I’m not sure I can stand many more Obama pom-poms shoved in my face.

  • TeakWoodKite

All that crap about boob bombers required a lawsuit to stop the damn searches.

Thats is funny on so many levels. (In a serious way)

  • tango

Well come on Larry. You don’t think all these government employees are to catch Islamic terrorists do you? No, they’re their to catch the really big bad guy terrorists – you know the right wing wacko racist teapartiers who Janet Reno worned us about last year? These same religious conservative wackos who in their time off like to fly planes into IRS buildings, kill fellow college professors in retaliation for not getting tenure (after killing a brother 20 years before and mailing a pipe bomb to a boss) and take a gun and shoot  cops outside the Pentagon.  What? All of them weren’t registered Republicans who attended a Tea Party every week? What, they spoke out against Bush and the War and captialism and one was even considered a obsessed with supporting Obama?  Lies, I tell you. Liberals would never do that.

  • TeakWoodKite

    Speaking of crazy b’s;

    More Trouble Ahead for Pelosi?

(and you know that notion, just crossed my mind…)

  • Hokma

Maybe that’s why she is pushing so hard to pass Obamacare.
She knows that if it passes, she won’t be speaker for very much longer and once out of power will avoid an investigation and perjury.

     . . . or maybe she’s not that smart.

  • My Site (click to edit)

Interesting Teak. Do you also think she may be riding that train, high on cocaine?

  • Retired

Larry, your should’ve let the video run for a bt.  The wild round that was inadverently fired when the INS guy tackled the Secret Service guy actually went through two layers of sheet rock into the kitchen of Abu Khodar’s Roasted Chicken Restaurant next door where Jack Bauer had set up his own remote OP/LP.  Jack was taking a leak so he was spared, but his CTU is on the hook to replace the $25K espresso machine that INS and Secret Service jointly took out.

  • Tammy

Yeah, let’s just ignore people like this, Larry.
    Until they blow something up.

And your TV clip? What a joke.  If the people who are hired to protect us and find terrorists are THAT stupid, then all of those entities should be shut down today.

I know, Larry, those Islamic terrorists aren’t really here.
We all imagined the Fort Hood shooting.
It’s the JOOOOOOOS who caused all of this.

I don’t even respect your opinion any more, Larry.

  • WestVirginia304

Lighten up Tammy.  Read this and feel better, you sweet purdy tang.

    Jihad Jane is so insane
She’s got a TV in every room
    CNNBC begins
    And JJ gets the blues

My boobs are pups – I’ll blow them up
Put plant food in the right
    Shoot diesel in the weasel
On the left and on to fight

    It’s just a military Monday – eh-eh
    Hatred burning in my head
    Another just a military Monday
    Here in status symbol land

Mothers complain about how hard life is,
And the kids just don’t understand.
Creature comfort goals, they only numb my soul,
And make it hard for me to see.
    Ahhh…thoughts all seem to
    stray to places far away,
I need a change of scenery.

Ta ta ta ta, ta ta ta ta…

WAPO:  “If nothing else, it’s another reminder to the FBI of the obligation to run down every lead and every threat, because they can’t be too far-fetched”

I saw a woman the other day who’s breasts were bigger than before.  Can I get a job with the big government telling on people like her?  What happens if the left and right bang together and blow up?  I am worried and I apologize to Carol King and Gerry Goffin for messing with their song.

  • WestVirginia304

The line:  Another just a Military Monday..  should be
    Another Military Monday.

Would not want to throw the rhytm off and set off the boob bombs.

  • beyond_words

    Very nice comments.

On another note, I was wondering if perhaps one of the many talented writers here at NQ could take on what transpired in Israel the last couple days with the Vice Pres. being humiliated on the world stage. ( they pulled another Turkish Ambassador moment on Biden)….article here.

First a state visit by the 2nd in command of the world’s greatest superpower does take some preparation no matter how close the alliance, so the “leak” of 16000 more housing units to be built in E.Jur.  the moment he got off the plane was just a plain slap in the face to him and Uncle Sam, in my opinion. That same site just listed another 50 000 housing permits to be issued in the near future. Wow talk about kicking Biden in the balls before he even makes it back home….

  • Larry Johnson

    Tammy,
Then fuck off.  Who put a gun to your head and asked for you to post your idiocy here?  Go elsewhere.

How many times can Obama give his final speech on the Health Care Bill?

It is begining to look like those “Going out of Business” signs on retail businesses that remain open for years.

  • Retired

Gee, I thought after Obama was elected that the world started to respect us again.  Msybe this Israelis just don’t like Biden personally.  After all, no one in America takes him seriously, why should the Israelis?

Really, Biden’s selection as Obama’s running mate was just a good insurance policy.

  • No Longer Banned in Beantown

I think you can safely blame the Bush II Administration for every agency becoming responsible for tracking down the terrorists.

I had personnally seen the Pre-Katrina Emergency Response Plans for several not to be mentioned states. Not a single mention of what to do for a natural disater. I am not shitting you.

DHS took over the reigns from FEMA, and all of the states ERP’s had to be reviewed and approved by DHS. Hence the overboard emphasis on terrorism.

I could not believe my eyes. I re-read through every one of those gigantic documents. I was looking for Mutual Aid Agreements that are set up between municpalities and among states to assist when disaster strikes.

All of the language was based on man made disasters, and terrorism.

These were from some big states in Hurricane alley.

But, these ERP’s have all been modified since Katrina and Rita, and now have plans for mother natures fury.

It was a real eye opener to see the myopic and shortsighted planning.

When Katrina came, it was no wonder Brownie did not know what to do. They really did not know how to respond and it showed.

Weare not going to ignore the Jihad Janes, but we don’t need 1000 agencies looking for Jihad Jack’s and Jill’s either. Those kind of bumbling knuckleeads will expose themselves in a manner that can be reported to the local PD.

I’ve heard stories of ATF, FBI and DEA agents nearly killing each other infiltrating drug rings. Multiply that by a thousand going after terrorists and you see the kind of Keystone Kop chaos that will follow.

ANd the money that these agencies will be demanding and overspending to meet a role that does not need to be met will be staggering. It could approach paying for Obamacare if it snowballs the way bureaucratic budgets have a way of doing.

  • Diana

    I noticed that too… Made me cringe….

  • AnnieCarmel

Yeah, Doc, wasn’t it that kook, Susan Collins (?) on the tee vee today pointing out how this means profiling middle eastern men is just plain wrong?  White women with blonde hair and green eyes are the new profile…guess that means me.

  • AnnieCarmel

He’s beginning to remind me of Earl Scheib…come on down folks…for a mere $99 you can get a real automotive paint job.

Unless we own Israel, I believe they are free to do as they please.

Now, they pisses a lot of people off including me, but until the real instigators – all of the Arab countries that treat Palestinians as their “junk yard dogs” to do their evil works – are held accountable, I don’t know how any of this changes.

    >:o

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

Yeah like the Israeli’s have really been effective. Their last outing was a real screw up.  There are tons of crazy people on this planet and I suppose we now have to have the WAR ON CRAZINESS” as the next battle so we can march forward to victory!

“Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety”. Benjamin Franklin (1706–90)

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

    Clueless!

  • Murray

Last night on pbs’ Newshour, they retracted that number; it was 16 hundred (1,600) new housing units.

Keeping the numbers correct.  Just another service I provide.

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

Israelis have only one interest….Israel.  That also includes spying on us and stealing our technology and pulling the carpet from under our feet when it suits their interest. This is suppose to be one of our allies? The only thing we have in common with the Israelis are money and religion. Militarily? They have done very little for us and we need them like we need a hole in our heads.

Politically we need to start kicking the Israelis publicly a hell of a lot more.

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

“Unless we own Israel, I believe they are free to do as they please”

They do as they pleasse and that is part of the problem… The other problem is we do not kick them when they go off the path and we don’t only because of politics here in the States.

  • carol haka

    FU little birdie!

  • candymarl

Maybe he’s trying to pull a Chavez or Castro on us. Obama will harangue us until we beg him to shut up and finally agree to this HC bill.

  • Karma

I don’t know how this will tie into what you saw.  But I do know that one of the major bases in a southern state was tasked to help out several southern states during natural disasters.  They would watch CNN to gauge how large a storm it would be and where it would hit.  Then load the trains with everything that was needed.  The base had mobile homes, furniture, clothes, even toys for kids, along with major equipment for clean up, etc.

If the order came the trains were already loaded waiting to leave.  If the order never came the trains didn’t roll and were unloaded.

I don’t know if the policy changed when that person left that base, but I was proud to hear of our military ready to roll PRIOR to being asked.

This policy was in place before the Bush Admin but we all heard reports that the Iraq war took a lot of large equipment from the states for the war.  So I don’t know if that major base was also stripped of it’s ability to respond or if the policy changed with a new command structure on base, or from the CIC.

Like you suggest, the Bush Admin could have had these policy changes to support the terror drumbeat of his admin, but it had been there previously.

  • Noogan

What is that? Why do you do that? So, basically, you only want comments that agree with you, and everyone else can just “fuck off!” I’ll take that under advisement, having been the target of your bullying in the recent past, for no other crime than disagreeing with your attack on Al Gore; my disagreement wasn’t rude, nor was it reckless, but you felt the need to disparage me with epithets.

Is that some sort of ego thing, or do you just enjoy the chance to bully and belittle people? I don’t agree with Tammy–I have never agreed with a thing she says–but I think these pop-offs of yours expose your own authoritarian attitudes.

Why do you even have a comments section if you can’t take disagreement; if you’re only interested in dictating your perspective from on high, then get rid of the peanut gallery so you don’t have to listen. Otherwise, just quit reading the comments, and you won’t find it necessary to act like a bully whenever someone disagrees with you.

We’d all love to be able to just yell “fuck off” whenever someone pisses us off, don’t we? But, most of us learn, you know, when we become ADULTS, that it’s immature to indulge our id every time we feel the need to pop off with a “fuck you.” Certainly–one would think–a grown man, who has had the honor of serving his country for decades in serious business like the intelligence world, would know how to control himself, right?

    Or so one would think…

  • Noogan

The American people are so easily led by fear-mongering and propaganda, they’ve allowed themselves to become “the suspect” now; we’re scanned, followed, spied on, and we have far fewer Constitutional rights than we did a decade ago. But we have ALLOWED it all to happen, so I hold the American people responsibie for this.

  • Hokma

Now we know that Captain Zero is also a rapid Nazi Jew hater. What’s wrong Jackass, bothered that the final solution didn’t work?

I thought Obama ran on restoring our Constitutional rights…..LOL

So now the American people are to blame for believing Obama?

Or maybe the American people are to blame for not holding Obama to his campaign promises?  Because it certainly couldn’t be Obama’s fault….LOL

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

While FEMA was a mess during Katrina. The US Military including the National Guard and the United States Coast Guard really picked up where FEMA dropped the ball…Like they did in American Samoa and even Haiti.

But we are still no where better off today here in the States if we get hit with another major disaster. FEMA needs to be split away from DHS and like now….

  • Docelder

That is what Napolitano says. Homegrown people are who we should be worrying about. People like returning war veterans. You know what I have come to learn… Whenever somebody in this administration says something jackass kooky like that… Well it won’t be long until the media proves them right. These guys are just fortuitous that way. Either that or the media gets their storty narratives from the administration and then goes out to find stories that match it. This is what I have come to believe. The regular media now is about as useful as a stack of supermarket tabloids in an outhouse.

Funny Doc, I was wondering too why this woman was not given the ‘innocent before proven guilty’ of being a terrorist extremist in the same manner of the guy from Ft. Hood.. Is it because she is a blond with blue eyes?

Oh and by the way.. I’m from PA and live in Montgomery County have blond hair and blue eyes but for the record, I’m NOT Jihad Jane :)

  • Yttik

It’s really frightening how quickly they are willing to profile US citizens, “tea baggers” “right wing  groups” “returning veterans” “jihad Jane”, but they won’t profile Middle Eastern Muslim men because that would be discriminatory.

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

“Those kind of bumbling knuckleeads will expose themselves in a manner that can be reported to the local PD. ”

What no military tribunals for these terrorists? Pick and Choosing are we? Oh yeah they are US Citizens so we will just strip them of their rights and then hold’em in the brig!

  • Larry Johnson

    Noogan,
Folks are more than welcome to disagree with me, but to personally attack me, “I no longer respect you” bullshit is something I won’t sitback and tolerate.  Disagree with the issue or subject, make a coherent arguement, no problem.  Start questioning my judgment or intelligence–then fuck off.  Does that help clarify?

  • Hokma

Now we know that Captain Zero is also a rabid Nazi Jew hater. What’s wrong Jackass, bothered that the final solution didn’t work?

    WELL DONE LARRY!

  • aaron

It is not unusual for governments to use false pretense in order to expand its power.

  • Noogan

Yeah, it does clarify and thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. However, questioning your “judgment” is a pretty broad category isn’t it?  Any disagreement could be construed as “questioning my judgment.”

  • Docelder

Yes, I wonder why this can’t be the story in itself. Why is Jihad Jane a radical and not the Ft. Hood guy? Then we haven’t got the spin from it yet. I suspect the storyline will be how she watches Beck faithfully. Remember after the OKC bombing, the story was very quickly shifted to talk radio being one of the causes of it.

I guess The USS Liberty, The Israeli Art Students, General Accounting Office  examinations of espionage directed against American defense and security industries, APAC and the Dr. Stewart David Nozette investigation just to name a few things is all bullshit to you.

Yes Israel has the right to survive and prosper in peace. But it’s also has the obligation not to screw over its allies as well. Let’s not mention play the dangerous nuclear game it is playing. Like blocking the IAEA from inspecting its facilities while bitching about the Iranians. What is good for the Iranians is good for the Israeli’s.

It’s pathetic. Larry’s expertise in intelligence, as I mentioned in my comment, should give him more, not less, ability to frame his arguments without having to resort to your level of subterranean arguments.

So, in the interests of clarity, let me just point out to you that the “fucking off area” is your brain on your best day, and that, you little twit is a place I would never go, not even if I could find it in that vast empty space between your ears.

  • oowawa

Well sowsear, maybe someone tipped them off that you post regularly on No Quarter . . .

  • Noogan

Obama ran on restoring our Constitutional rights; so now the American people are to blame for “believing Obama?”

Yes. Admit the truth: The history on Obama was patently clear to anyone with half a brain; the American people ignored it; they further ignored the fact that this man had ZERO accomplishments and experience. Why would anyone vote for a cipher like Obama? They loved the “narrative” of electing the first black president? Well, I submit that there were PLENTY of more accomplished, more experienced black Americans who could have fulfilled the mission. But no, we just had to indulge ourselves in the fantasy that is Barack Obama, even though WE KNEW there would be a big hangover for that drugged out delusion.

Perhaps you were one of the dupes, who like their politics with a little fantasy on top, huh? Well, you get the government you deserve, buddy, and the American people are getting it good.

They’re getting the unemployment, bankruptcies and foreclosures, high debt, and they’re going to be getting the cuts in entitlements, the sky-high taxes and the erosion of the Constitutional liberties they “deserve” as well. I hope you enjoy denying your own responsibiity for your condition, but it won’t help you, because, in the long run, you’re gonna be paying a painful price.

Obama says he’s not responsible; you say YOU aren’t responsible. There seems to be an epidemic of blamelessness in this country these days; maybe the CDC can save us with a vaccine for this virus.

You can try to blame it on Obama all you want: Who Put Him In the Oval Office? The American people did. And, they’re going to pay with their own blood, sweat and tears in the coming decades for it.

There is a lesson the voters of this country had better learn: Nothing is free. Everything comes with a price tag. We continue to elect governments and representatives who promise us what we want to hear, and we never stand up and say enough when those same leaders pervert our economy and our Constitution. That is our responsibility. We don’t demand accountability; we vote for fantasy. And, fantasy is what we get; fantasy based on media propaganda, that burns us every time. We never learn. That’s our problem.

Well Onofre’s arm, assuming he/she will still be posting several months down the road, I wonder if the Obotimus Prime moniker will have changed to Sub-Prime Obot?  Pissed Nobot?

  • Noogan

Yes, Israel is free do “as they please,” alright; with our money. According to the Congressional Research Service, Israel cannot survive economically–and certainly not politically–with the United States. So, one would think, they would show a little more RESPECT, wouldn’t one?

If Israel attacks Iran, it will impact your life in very negative ways; you won’t be saying they have the right to “do as they please,” when the payments for their arrogance, and recklessness come due to you.

  • Noogan

    Carol haka,

Israel is free to do as they please. But they ought to be able to do it without depending on the United States to provide economic and military assistance.
And, that, Israel cannot do. They need our money to survive, acc. to the Congressional Research Service.

If a nation is completely dependent on the US for an annual subvention of between $3-$7 million, amounting to more than $100 million over the years, plus weapons systems we essentially give to them for free, because Israel has never paid us for any of them–some of which they have been caught selling to China by the way–and would be a pariah in the international community for its violations of international law if it were not for the US, wouldn’t you think they would show a little more RESPECT for its patron?

Israeli arrogance will put the entire nation at risk; but it will also put our entire nation at risk.Even Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Adm. McMullen has expressed his concerns recently over the recklessness of Israeli policy.

  • Onofre’s arm

Until that time when PO’s world collapses around him, he’ll just keep living in his warm and fuzzy fool’s paradise. And I suppose until that time, we’ll have to endure his particularly irritating cheeriness regarding all things Progressive and Obamaesque.

Here’s a clip of Prime Obot riding on the Obama bus, in his/her usual delusional happy, happy, joy, joy euphoria. His ode to Thee One.

Where’s a nail studded club when you need one?

  • Noogan

Hokma, are you claiming that anyone who doesn’t support Israeli policy is a “rabid Nazi Jew hater?”

Please be clear about this, because it’s a real problem for all people who believe that to support Israel means to dissent from policies that are bad for Israel, including many Jews who dissent from Israeli policy.

So is it your argument that Jews who dissent from Israeli policy–including many who are the children of Holocaust Survivors, like Amira Hass, and Sara Roy, are a “rabid Nazi Jew hater?”

Love, I wailed for a long time against Bush, the Iraq war, the Patriot Act, Halliburton, etc, etc, etc.  When Obama came on the scene I left my political debate echo chamber and went out to fight the CDS from the the Obots.  It was clear Obama was a corporate whore from the very start.

As far as who put him in office….well I saw a lot of voter fraud in both Bush and Obama’s elections….as well as the MSM’s help in both cases.  The Brooks Brothers riot is an example of not really being on the case as well as the slants about the PUMA voters.

I was raised from a small child to be aware of my civic duty to protect the Constitution.  So no, I don’t blame myself and tried for years to battle the assaults.  I understand the generalities of your argument but as a political junkie also understand most don’t/can’t follow the game as closely as I do.  They believed Obama when the “Prof of Constitutional Law” told them he would fight for our rights.  They thought they were fighting the good fight.  Sad that they were duped but the cynic that I am, isn’t really sure it would have made a difference.  It seems like Obama would be in office either way…and our ability to choose our govt is gone.

Sorry, but I am fighting with those cynical thoughts that it is a dog and pony show and Dems AND Reps are both on the same side against the will of the people.  Being raised as a small child to watch when they move together and sure enough they move together on things like the Patriot Act.

I would be happy if you could prove my cynical thoughts wrong…and no I have never voted for the fantasy but the reality of their record.

Which is why Bush and Obama didn’t get my votes.

“Militarily? They have done very little for us and we need them like we need a hole in our heads.”
“it’s also has the obligation not to screw over its allies as well. Let’s not mention play the dangerous nuclear game it is playing. Like blocking the IAEA from inspecting its facilities while bitching about the Iranians. What is good for the Iranians is good for the Israeli’s.”
Noogan – Those comments are filled with inaccuracies and anti-Jew hatres. If you agree with that then, yes, you are right there with this obvious  jew hater.

  • Hokma

Noogan – The actual amount of money the U.S. sent to Israel reached $3 billion in 2009 but was reduced by Obama to $2.7 billion in 2010. It is under Foreign Military Financing. So far they have only released $555 million this year.
Your statement that they are completely dependent on the U.S. is a bold faced lie and comes right out of the anti-Semite playbook. The money they receive from the U.S. is not for boosting the Israel economy – they actually have a very thriving economy with particularly in the technology sector. There are more scientific and tech advances coming out of Israel than probably anywhere else right now. Their medical program is more technologically advanced than the U.S.
Of course people like you and Captain Zero would probaly rather see Israel have no defenses.

“Israeli arrogance will put the entire nation at risk” – what arrogance? You want to spout anti-Semitism then expect these comments.

I’m not sure I see the “why it is such a big story” – and how it relates to more government takeover of our rights. Shouldn’t we be catching any and all terrorists? I understand that you do though and you definitely have given me food for thought. Which is the point of your post. Thanks again, Larry.

US citizens need to become pro active. Understand their surroundings etc Watch, Listen, See, Act, Report. We need to start looking out for ourselves whatever it takes as an example regular citizens in the UK thwarted many bombings and made sure those walking/living alongside each other where out of the way before a terrorist attack could strike. We need facts and we ALL need to be vigilant to what is happening around us. No good the government not wanting to alarm us with facts, we need to live knowing who or what is out there trying to create havoc and tragedies in the first place so we all know how to act, help, stop these horrendous acts

Maybe Netanyahu thought he could push Joe Biden around a little because they happened to be born in the same state.  But that was a long time ago and the VP knows now, without a doubt, that Netanyahu is not a friend of the USA and certainly not a friend of the Obama administration.  We should stop payment on Israel’s check ASAP.

  • Guest

The VP decided to show up 90 minutes late to have dinner with Netanyahu.  Either this was a deliberate snub after he learned that 1,600 new Israeli homes would be built or Joe just wasn’t looking forward to the lousy Jewish food.

Too bad for Jane.  She’s probably not too stable to begin with and was lured to Sweden by Swedish criminals that are all over the internet causing trouble in Europe.  She’s lucky they didn’t rendition her out somewhere.  Sweden did a lot of renditions during the last eight years.

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

“US citizens need to become pro active. Understand their surroundings etc Watch, Listen, See, Act, Report.”

The key word here is “understand”. I cannot imagine how many calls and tips the cops get on terrorism that is just insane. Because people do not understand or do not have any form of situational awareness.

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

Hokma… What inaccuracies? There you go again talking shit. Tell me what inaccuracies?

IAEA’s Israeli’s nuclear concerns? That is very well documented. What gives any country the right to threaten to use force against another because one country perceives a nuclear threat while itself not wanting or allowing inspections of its own nuclear facilities and/or for that matter declaring its nuclear capability while pointing the finger at another for any secret programs? What gives Israel this right?

Additionally Israel’s spying on us is again very well documented. Normally allies work together not spy or steal each others secrets. Monitor each other? Of course we all do that to one another. Yes we all spy on one another in one form or another. But not like what the Israelis do to us….

As far as Israel’s right to exist in peace? That is beyond question. As far as Israeli’s right to defend itself?  That is also beyond question as long as the laws of war are followed . But The Israeli Government is playing the same games as it Arab neighbors when it comes to the Palestine issue. Our problem is even simpler… We side way too much with Israel politically. We need to be more centered with ME policy.

The US political problem is again very simple… Like Joe Biden…. APAC knows the political landscape and plays it very well. Biden proved that!

Finally.. the military question. Tell me Hokma. Name me one military operation that without Israeli help we could not pull off ourselves? Matter of fact tells me what military operation Israeli ever helped us pull off?

Please do not tell me they share intelligence with us. They like other countries with exception of the Brits and a few others, share only what they want when they want to.

Other than that the only true reason we are as close to Israel politically as we are now is because of religion (not a bad thing) and of course ……money……

  • Noogan

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, candymarl, could you possibly try to be more obsequious?!?

You think Larry’s always respectful, even when he calls people “brain dead retards” in response to simply disagreeing with him, that’s your business; obviously YOU WOULD NEVER DISAGREE WITH LARRY.

God, how pathetic can you be. Do you have a thought of your own once in a while, or did Larry fucking CLONE YOU?

I can’t even be bothered to continue, since I have so much contempt for people like you.

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

    Hokma

What the hell is wrong with you? Your never wrong? Never mistaken? Never misinfomred? Always knowing? Where is there antisemitism in any of these postings? Disagreement yes, antisemitism no. Yes we spend a hell of a lot of money on Israel. As well as other countries. Yes Israel has a very thriving economy. But here is a huge difference. Its cost the US economy some $71 billion in economic espionage by Israel and its lobbyists, <!–n–><!–m–> Giraldi on Israeli spying in the US.

BUt this is the real danger to Israel and US relations!

  • Noogan

I hate to tell you Hokma, but Israel has always refused to allow access to Dimona even by the United States. Israel refused to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, but the Iranians are a signatory to it, as is the US.

There are no factual innacuracies in Captain’s comment.

So, here’s the point: People who jump with both feet into calling people “NAZI RABID JEW HATERS” just for disagreeing with Israeli policies are using an old trick, a tried and true tactic that has been used for years just to shut people up, because no one in their right mind wants to be called a “NAZI RABID JEW HATER,” now do they?

But, it is an ugly tactic to use, Hokma, and it reflects worse on those who use it, and that is why anti-Israeli sentiment is rising around the world. So, YOU Hokma are undermining the very thing you want to defend: ZIONISM.

    People are sick of it.

Israeli policies are defended by fewer and fewer Jews around the world, because THEY are suffering the backlash from more and more people around the world who reject Israeli policies.

So, please, do yourself a favor and stop using these UGLY epithets to refer to people who JUST DISAGREE WITH ISRAELI POLICIES.

  • Noogan

You are an ugly racist, Hokma. Your arguments are against Jews everywhere. I reject your clear anti-semitism. You should be ashamed of yourself.

  • Noogan

Wow, who knew the Congressional Research Service–whose report I personally ordered and have–is ALSO ANTISEMITIC!!

It’s a fucking worldwide conspiracy against ZIONISTS, isn’t it?

Wow, Hokma, you’re just another anti-semite, and rabid NAZI Jew hater.

    Shame on you.

  • Noogan

Here are the numbers, Hokma, you “rabid Nazi Jew Hater.”

    http://www.wrmea.com/congress-a-us-aid-to-israel.html

And, yes, Israeli ARROGANCE is not only putting Israel at risk; it is putting the US at risk. If Israel attacks Iran, we’ll be put at risk. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Adm. McMullen has commented on the risk himself recently.

ARE YOU NOW CALLING THE CHAIRMAN OF THE JOINT CHIEFS AN ANTI-SEMITE TOO?

You see, Hokma, once you go down that road of lies and paranoia, then ANYONE who has the temerity to criticize Israeli policy has to be called a “rabid Nazi Jew Hater.”

Pretty soon, as you are proving, EVERYONE IN THE WORLD is an anti-semite, and what will you use to shut people up, then?

You cannot defend your paranoid conspiracy theory that every person–INCLUDING JEWS–is an anti-semite.

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

Carol… I think we call that a police state. You can live your life anyway you wish. But not if that means turning a USA into a police state. Apathy…. is going to be this nations downfall.

  • Hokma

Noogan – look at your own source and 2008. What aid is being given to israel and in what form. So where the hell did you get $7 billion.

You and Jackrabbit protest too much. Anti-Israel people find feeble reasons to hate Israel and get upset when their own bias are brought into question.

And, not there is not a growing number of Jews opposed to the policies of Israel. It is actually the opposite now. And inside Israel a very large majority believe that Obama is anti-Israel, which he is.

So throw up the BS as much as you want, but if I had the time I could factually corner you and th e nut case Sparrow into a corner where you belong. The info you get can easily be found on Daily Koz.

Docelder: If you look at the rate of spousal abuse and general mayhem among returning war veterans you’ll notice that their untreated PTSD is a danger. That and the army is recruiting more and more uneducated, marginally illiterate radicals — Aryan nation, etc. — to fill its ranks.  So stop infantilizing the troops. They’re every bit as likely to be disgruntled and anti-government and violent when they return as any other random (usually right-wing) loony flying airplanes into the IRS or shooting up Holocaust museums.

  • Guest

Docelder, you are such a jerk.  Sorry, I know people here are super thin-skinned about insults, but if the shoe fits. Who said the Ft. Hood shooter wasn’t a radical? Who told you that ANYONE besides those who sympathize with a serial killer think that sort of behavior is perfectly normal? Glenn Beck? Of course he was a damned radical, as is this idiotic “Jihad Jane” loser.

  • Guest

Candymarl: You’re a frickin idiot. You and Docelder are made for each other.  Chavez and Castro? Are you kidding?  Where were you when Bush was strippign this country of its civil rights?  Were you as incensed about the PATRIOT Act? Oh sorry, you probably didn’t read it – and i’d be surprised if you could name even 5 points of this healthcare bill you’re so worked up about.

Don’t blame FEMA. There are and have been very capable professionals in that agency. But when DHS took over the reigns, the people and policy were hog tied.

The situation post Katrina has been much improved.

I had to laugh, and shake my head in frustration when Brownie publicly asked Bush II to “Send everything you got” because Katrina would be the Big One.

The problem was Brownie and everyone else did not no what “Everything you got” meant. What was the specific material needs and what were the logistics and who do you commence that process?  Brownie and those above him were clueless.

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

Yes there are many capable professionals at FEMA. Most do not have the juice to make policy nor change things. But saying that FEMA has not changed much and the disaster in American Samoa showed that we have not come very far since Katrina. What needs to happen here is FEMA needs to be taken away from DHS and put on its own again.

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

Let’s not talk about republican operatives! Like Grover Norquist and Suhail Khan!

Noogan – I don’t why I bother responding to bigots with no brains?

  • ~~JustMe~~

Well having lived through the IRA I was pleased when the call went in at the burger joint we were in and we left before the place went up. Guess we where the lucky ones. I understand what your saying but it could be wise to have an understanding of what to look for. How do we get that information out? Plus I also know that people over react.

Or is it well one bomb and a few deaths is ok because we didn’t understand or that call was never made?

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

    Just Me

You lived through the IRA and that was a long war and civil war between factions of the iRA and the British Government. Not some ME terror strike. You either were taught to understand or you learned to understand the hard way.  But That is the key, knowing what to look for and knowing how to report it. Of coarse the population of Ireland some 4.5M ( that is about the same population as the Bourghs of Manhattan and Brooklyn alone) and the population of the United States @ somewhere around 307M is a huge difference. We kind of tried this shortly after 911 and sent most major cities bomb squads crazy and tied up DHS resources looking for UBL to pop out of a submarine in NY Harbor.

Telling people to have situational awareness and teaching that is two totally different things. Hell most people can’t report the facts straight in a traffic accident forget looking out for terrorism. How many examples of misreporting’s have we heard about since 911?  We have to do a much better job of teaching the public rather than keeping them scared.

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

“Noogan – I don’t why I bother responding to bigots with no brains?”

Typical reply Hokma. When confronted with fact proving you wrong rather than debate your retort is more insults. What I do not understand is why you even bother posting here? Guess you like to see your diatribe wrote on the Internet? Or are you so stupid that you sit on the TV to watch the couch?

  • Captain Jack Sparrow

Swedes hate American politics, not Americans. I can attest to that since I lived there for a while.

Fuad Kamal of Anaara Media in the Washington, D.C. area is the most dangerous terrorist in the U.S. today.  He is actively involved in the recruitment online of new Jihadists.  This is the name to remember — Fuad Kamal — because he is planning future attacks in Canada and the U.S. at this very moment.
