My Conversation with Sunday Alabi

Barack Obama’s campaign has knowingly used a front company, Citizen Services Inc., to steer money to a community organization with a history of political shenanigans and campaign violations, ACORN. We had the story first and have highlighted ACORN’s mischief (see here and take a look at Nancy’s piece on ACORN.) and David Brown of the Pittsburgh Tribune fleshed it out. The Obama campaign told Pittsburgh Tribune reporter, David Brown, that they made a simple mistake in labeling. That is a lie. How do I know? Because I spoke to a board member of Citizen Services in July, before any of this became public. My quest to understand why Barack Obama’s campaign spent almost $1 million dollars on Citizen Services Inc. started with a search of the public corporate records for Citizen Services. I learned that one of the Directors was a man listed as Sunday Alibi (sic). I did subsequent searches for Mr. Alibi and learned that his real name is Sunday Oladimeji Alabi. Alabi not Alibi. Here is the corporate information:

My search for Mr. “Alibi” uncovered several variations of his name:

Thanks to the internet I finally tracked him down in Minnesota and gave him a call. Mr. Alabi answered the phone and I introduced myself using my real name. But I did tell a white lie–I said I got his name and number from Bob Shrum at the Democratic National Committee. He hesitated. When I repeated that I got his name and number from the DNC he brightened up and became quite chatty. Using the Obama FEC filing as my guide I told Mr. Alabi that I needed to hire Citizen Services to help my campaign with “Staging, Sound, and Lighting.” Without a moments hesitation Mr. Alabi told me, “we don’t do that.” He went on to identify ACORN as the organization that handles those matters and he told me to contact Marc Seiden (he gave me a cell phone number for Mr. Seiden, which is a District of Columbia cell phone).

Citizen Services is a paper organization. What does that mean? It has no employees and no office space. It does not advertise its services. And it shares a physical address in New Orleans with ACORN. It appears to be no more than a front or cut out used to move money in order to obscure the final expenditure. Let’s see the invoices Citizen Services submitted to the Obama campaign. There is no doubt the money initially went to Citizen Services. The question is, what did the money actually buy? And, who was the ultimate recipient?

    Thank you, Larry, for your hard work. Thank God you and some others are doing it because the media sure as heck isn’t.

    I just put up the entire Jerome Corsi (author, “The Obama Nation” book at the top of the NY Times bestseleller list for 2 weeks running) interview from the August 16, 2008 Washington Journal program on C-SPAN. I urge you to watch this and to share this with others. The video quality is not very good, but Corsi is masterful (including repelling ‘bot callers) and if you had any concerns about this man and his bonafides, they will be dispelled after watching this interview.

    This is the best I have seen Corsi come off, and he answers a number of his criticisms and displays the mind and the skill that allowed him to become a Harvard Ph.D., among other of his life’s accomplishments.

    Please watch this when you have time, favorite it and pass it along. The Obama camp is doing it’s best to smear Corsi, but interviews such as this one clearly demonstrate why the man and his work investigating Obama must be both appreciated and taken very seriously.

        This isn’t the only criminal act that deserves attention before DNC delegates vote next week. The Little Rock Police say they still have no motive for last week’s murder of Bill Gwatney, head of the Arkansas delegation. That could be because Timothy Dale Johnson was operating at the behest of Karl Rove’s people. It seems Gwatney had agreed to sign a petition to get Hillary Clinton’s name in nomination the day before he died. Most of the Arkansas delegation was ready to vote for her as well. (Clinton scored her biggest win there with a whopping 44 points.) Significantly, Arkansas is third in a roll-call vote. And the DNC announcement about Clinton being included in the nomination process came the day after Gwatney was shot.         What I found out about Corsi is he’s not even a Republican. He’s a Constitutionist supporting Chuck Baldwin so he maybe biased against Obama like most of us but he an Independent.

      Obama steps in it all the time, all by himself. No experience, no judgment, no speaking skills without a teleprompter, no empathy, no common sense….oh, and he’s a crook. That does it for me.

      Don’t be too impressed with Harvard. Bush has a sheepskin from them; so does Obama; so does Alberto Gonzales. I wouldn’t trust a single one of them to watch my dog for three days. You’d think for forty five grand a year, they’d at least give them some reasoning skills to go along with that halfassed degree written in Latin.

      I looked at the .pdf of the restraining order. It is not dated nor has a judge signed it.

        The case was just filed yesterday afternoon, the scanned-in pleadings are just hitting the file. It may not even have been assigned to a particular judge yet, much less be scheduled for any initial hearing. When filing any action in federal court, the attorneys usually draft orders for review by the court. I’m sure that the PDF of the restraining order was just a draft order submitted by Mr. Berg for the court’s consideration, at least at this point. A lot can happen before a judge’s signature will appear on that order, but the filing of this action in court does give us “hope, for a change.”

          There is no “file” save the information that is provided on the newly minted passport. They don’t scan or keep copies of the stamps in passports. Also, you’ve always been able to get “addendum” pages for your passport (handy if you travel a lot between Saudi Arabia and Israel–so you can keep those Israeli stamps separate).

          Anyone hoping for a record of visas issued can HOPE all day, and BELIEVE they’ll find something, but unless they CHANGE the rules, the US government doesn’t track visa issuances by foreign nations.

          There are records of embarkation/disembarkation from US international ports, but it’s a simple matter to fly to an inocuous third country to make your way to the verboten land–for example, ya wanna go to Cuba, you go by way of Canada or Mexico.

            When I read this article it appeared to me that Sen Obama had a VERY close relationship with his mother yet he writes a book explaining his relationship with his father-and almost ignores his mother’s existance except for some comments here and there? One might think that he did not want to attract attention to his mother. Why?

    I would guess that the money went to pay off Dan Parisi of Whitehouse.com, for the phony polygraph that was given to Larry Sinclair.
    Sinclair has probably been telling the truth about the tip he received telling him that Axelrod/Obama, paid Dan parisi only a portion of the $750,000 promised to Parisi to show the failed polygraph results.
    The time frame, and the dollar amount are both very close to the Larry Sinclair polygraph results story.

    As I told my friend Rep. Lois Capps, whose son in law is Obama’s National Communications Director, it would be unfair and unethical to delegates, both pledged and super, to withhold this otherwise untold story prior to their floor votes in Denver. This is, oddly, also an opportunity for unity; if the Obama campaign stated that they played rough in a caucus system that should be abolished, it would heal a lot of wounds.

    Officials: Threat sent to McCain’s Colorado office

    CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) — A threatening letter containing an unidentified white powder was sent to a John McCain campaign office in this south Denver suburb Thursday, authorities said. No injuries were immediately reported. Authorities later said the substance was not hazardous.

    A second letter sent to a McCain campaign office in New Hampshire initially was reported to contain threatening language and white powder. Authorities said that was a false alarm and there was no powder in that envelope.

    At least 19 people were examined at hospitals or were quarantined outside the Colorado office while authorities tried to determine whether the powder was hazardous. Everyone was sent home by late Thursday, said Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson. He said the substance was not hazardous and not lethal, but that it will take days to determine what it was.

    Andy Lyon of Parker South Metro Fire Rescue Authority said the return address on the envelope listed the Arapahoe Detention Center and the name of an inmate.

    Sheriff’s officials said the inmate suspected of sending the letter is Marc Harold Ramsey, 39, who has been incarcerated since September 2007 on investigation of felony menacing, harassment and second-degree assault on a peace officer. Ramsey may face federal felony charges for Thursday’s incident, sheriff’s officials said.

    Lyon said the first line of the letter used threatening language. He refused to give any details.

    Malcolm Wiley, a Secret Service spokesman in Colorado, said there was no powder in the New Hampshire envelope. He said he did not know about the content of the letter, which had a Denver return address. That alarmed staffers in Manchester, who had heard about the Colorado incident.

    Jim Barnett, McCain’s New England campaign manager, said it’s unusual for the New Hampshire office to get a letter from Denver.

    “That was really the only suspicious thing about the letter, and our national headquarters advised, out of an abundance of caution for our staff and volunteers, that we have the authorities check it out,” he said. “We did and it was deemed safe.”

    A government official familiar with the investigation said the New Hampshire letter was a false alarm. The official said authorities believe the Denver letter was a hoax because it appeared to have been sent from a jail.

    Both the New Hampshire and Colorado offices were evacuated.

    Bruce Williamson of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department said authorities took the incident “very seriously” because the Democratic National Convention begins Monday in Denver. McCain is the presumed GOP candidate.

    For those of you who are not alumni, this is how the cover on a clandestine funding mechanism is “peeled back.” A non-profit makes a great cutout because, for the most part, they don’t have to disclose anything to anyone except to law enforcement upon a court order.

    Will the FEC obtain such an order and discover where the money went? Will this be done before the election? Possibly not, because the DNC will scream that producing evidence of lawbreaking before the election might “prejudice the results.” Once Obama is safely elected, who cares? He will be de facto immunized by the people.

    Great risk, great gain. That’s politics.
