“We Will Not Be Silenced”

Thanks to several alert readers here at No Quarter, I have learned about a new documentary on Caucus Fraud that is just coming out. “We Will Not Be Silenced, ” by Gigi Gaston, came into being according to their website because:

As Americans, we expect certain liberties and rights that were granted us by our forefathers, who wrote documents like the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. “We the people” expect that these fundamental rights will always be protected. However, in the current Democratic Presidential Primary, this has not been the case. We believe that the The Democratic National Committee (DNC) made a grave error by depriving American voters of their choice of Hillary Clinton as Democratic nominee. Senator Clinton, by all accounts, except caucuses, won the Primary Election and, therefore, should be the 2008 Democratic Nominee. That didn’t happen, due largely to illegitimate and illegal acts. We have interviews of many accounts from caucus states recounting threats, intimidation, lies, stolen documents, falsified documents, busing in voters in exchange for paying for “dinners,” etc. There are at least 2000 complaints, in Texas alone, of irregularities directed towards the Obama Campaign, that have lead to a very fractured and broken Democratic Party.

The preview, all 33 minutes of it, is compelling. In essence, it is a visual companion to the work of Dr. Lynette Long at Caucus Fraud and Peniel Cronin on Primaries and Caucuses (which will appear at NQ shortly). In short, it is disturbing not just how this happened, but THAT it happened in our country.

Hillary isn’t going to happen. You know it. I know it. The rest of the literate, and illiterate world knows it.

You people need to spend more time figuring out how to keep McCain out of office and less time flailing about over imagined wrongs. The thing that I noticed most during the primary was the many things that both Obama and Hillary had in common. Except for a few minor differences, they each wanted the same things for the country, and their differences were minor, at best.

So, you’ll have to admit, then, that you’ve got a candidate that will give you what you wanted from Hillary, but he just ISN’T Hillary. That’s counterproductive, and frankly, that kind of attitude should be reserved for sporting events.

This is our country, people, and I don’t care if kermit the frikkin’ frog is running it as long as his goals match up to mine and will help the country out of the mess that we currently find ourselves.

Quit it. Grow up. Use your energies to better the world.

Oh, fuck you all. I went to a caucus. Great experience. I think the primary states should all switch to the caucus system.

I went to a high school gymnasium. It could handle about 2000 people, and that’s about as many were there. Around 1600 for Obama, 300 for Hillary, 90 for Edwards, 5 for Kucinich, and 5 for Gravel. I sat there for four hours (and yes, there was plenty of accommodation for the disabled) to make my voice heard, and meet lots of great folks.

Now, I did all this on a snowy night in February in Kansas. Obama didn’t just beat Hillary statewide, he was in about a beat every other candidate combined.

Meanwhile, Michigan and Florida did a fake pussified primary vote that was never going to count, and you all are “Oh, popular vote! Popular vote!” Man, fuck the popular vote. The popular vote is for people who can’t do math. And the primary system is, especially in the designed-for-Hillary’s coronation by February 6 calendar they used, fucked.

Scrap the whole thing and go to caucuses. That way people that give a damn control the process.

Studies have been done showing that many people are excluded from caucuses just through circumstance:

Older people with no available night transportation.
People who work retail.
Young mothers.
Peoople who work night shift.
People in the military.
In other words, lots of the people the Democratic Party is supposed to protect.

So before using the F word, think a little.

I caucused in Colorado, in the most Democratic county in the state. The County chair was as organized as possible. Still the caucus was chaotic. She spent hours afterwards having to double check everything. The night of the caucus, it appeared that O won. But at the county convention, she announced that she had to turn in over 200 names of people who had voted illeglly. In Colorado, you have to be a registered Dem to vote in a caucus. So at the county the vote was exactly even.

At the CD convention and assembly, we experienced the stalling tactics of the O camp as they tried to get people to get tired and leave. They were totally surprised that even all our alternates showed up, when theirs didn’t. The same occurred at the state convention.

For the O people, the caucuses were all about taking away the voting rights of old people and older women, those who couldn’t endure the hours of standing and waiting.

There–my one-person anecdote cancels your one-person experience.

Kansas has an estimated 1,990,002 Eligible Voters. 1.84% caucused on that snowy night. A whopping total of 36,634 people showed up.

Yep, that was a representative group of all the diversity of nearly 2 million Kansans. No doubt about it.

Did you know there are 321,000 people with disabilities of voting age in Kansas? They certainly showed up in force that night didn’t they Ash?

Obama beat Hillary by 17,710 votes that snowy night – and got 14 pledged delegates more than she did.

On the other hand, Hillary only got 12 more pledged delegates by beating the socks off Barack in Pennsylvania by 214,115 votes out of the 2.3 million total.

Now, which of these two states do you reckon offer a better sampling of the will of all of the citizens? The one wherein 1.84% of eligible voters participated or the one in which 24.5% voted?

Yet in the end, the delegates won were approximately equal – 14 more for Obama in Kansas and 12 for Clinton in PA.

At the Convention in Denver, those Kansas delegates are going to represent the voices of 894 voters each… while the PA delegates are going to represent the voices of 12,275 voters each.

Those caucuses. Wow. Can everybody just feel the fairness?

Wonder if Barack won Kansas in a similar way as Romney won the Nevada Republican caucus?

Elections with low voter turnout are much more influenced by subgroups of a total population, by voters with a particular political agenda and by those strongly committed to a specific candidate. Consider an example of how a small, but well-mobilized group of supporters can dominate and control the caucus outcome:

Example: The 2008 Nevada Republican caucus is one instance of how the process can present skewed results. In Nevada, 5% of the population is Mormon, but 25% of the Republican caucus-goers were Mormon, and 95% of that 25% voted for Mitt Romney. Romney won by a landslide 51% of the vote, Ron Paul was second with 14% and McCain took third place with 13%. However, the total votes cast were only 44,300 out of 1.7 million eligible voters – a 2.6% turnout.

Note: Like Obama, Romney was pursuing a caucus-domination strategy. Before he suspended his campaign on Feb. 7, 2008, he’d won 8 of the 10 caucuses he entered with large-margin victories and placed a close 2nd in the other two. McCain won only one caucus. Part of the difference between the Democratic and Republican race is that Republicans have delegate allocation with more “winner-take-all” states.

If Democrats had winner-take-all delegate allocation, the final results would have been Clinton 1895.5 pledged delegates and Obama 1497.

Keep this in mind:
In this 2008 Dem election cycle, 8 of the 13 caucus states had less turnout than the 44,300 Republicans who gave Romney his win in Nevada.

Everyone who wanted to know the rules could have known the rules and changed them before the primary/caucus season. Hillary thought these rules would work for her–Obama thought they would work against her. Obama was right. End of story. This is why you hear no one in the Democratic Party saying that the rules must be changed for 2012–because everyone likes to think that they will be able to manipulate the rules to their favor.

Ash, the point is that voter fraud is much easily negated by a primary rather than a caucus. And a primary represents a much larger percentage of the population than a caucus, also giving working individuals a much wider window of opportunity to vote. That way people that give a damn control the process.” As a lifelong watcher of Chicago politics I must say that the local Democrats would love to use that system in all elections, no secret ballot. Here in Chicago voter intimidation is very real and the caucus system makes that intimidation both legal and more open. Period. To this Chicagoan that final sentence really sounded better in its original German.

To become Senator Obama relied on the fawning local media that went after his vastly more qualified, experienced and superior opponents in both parties by going to court to obtain private divorce records (against the wishes of all involved including adult children and lawyers for a minor child) and ran those stories heavily even against the subsequent testimony of many involved family members while at the same time refusing to dig into anything involving Obama. His church was described by the Chicago press as a “mainstream Christian Church”, we now know that to be a lie but we didn’t find out about Trinity United until well after Iowa.

At the 1972 DNC (held in Miami) the Democratic Party stole the primary votes of legitimate Illinois voters and sat as the Illinois delegation a group that was led by Jesse Jackson. Jackson and Operation PUSH had set up their own polling stations throughout the state, especially in African-American areas and ran their own “primary”, the closest “polling place” to my family’s home was several towns away. The night that the DNC debated the motion to sit the Jackson delegation (they eventualy did sit that illegitimate Jackson delegation as a protest to the late Mayor Richard J Daley for the actions of the Chicago Police during the 1968 DNC) my father, a lifelong Democrat and friend of the current Mayor Daley (their father’s were boyhood friends) was livid as we watched his vote being stolen live on television from Miami. Because the problems of caucuses it appears that the votes of other states may have been stolen out in the open, only this time the Chicago Boys didn’t do it on television and a Daley didn’t get screwed.

Caucuses disenfranchise voters. Most caucuses are in the evening which makes it difficult for the elderly who often are uncomfortable driving at night and go to bed early. Those disabled individuals who rely on public transportation or physical assistance will have difficulties getting to the caucuses and sometimes into the facility. Anyone whose normal work shift falls during the caucus hours will not be able to attend; no business will allow all of its employees to be gone for 3 hours at a time. In a family with small children, only one parent will be able to attend the caucus (mostly the mother) because someone needs to watch the children and toddlers generally don’t do well in large crowds at night.

In a traditional primary, polls are open for 12 hours or more. People can go before or after work, even those on odd shifts. The disabled and elderly can go while public transportation is running or their aids are available. Parents can take turns going or take their children along if the lines aren’t too long.

There are no protections like absentee voting and confidential voting. If your candidate doesn’t meet the threshold, your vote has to go to a second or third choice.

If you need more evidence that the caucus system disenfranchises voters, look at the turnout for the Texas two-step. Almost three million people ovted in the Democrat primary. Less than 100,000 were at the caucus the same day.

ALL caucuses should become primaries.

Seniors were fainting, mothers with crying children had to leave, no microphone was used and chaos ensued. Open Letter to Democratic Superdelegates

Rarely is one person given the opportunity and the responsibility to make a decision which will affect the future of their country. This is indeed such a time. It is as important a decision as the decision that citizens of this country made to revolt against the British government. It is as important a time as the moment that John Hancock decided to prominently sign his name, knowing that his signature would be considered treason punishable by death. Soon, each superdelegate will make a decision that will irrevocably usher in a time of corruption and political cheating or prosperity and a stable productive government. Such is the choice you have before you: whether to nominate Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton.

Barack Obama has no substantial experience in government, no distinguished voting record, and no history of patriotic service to this country. Further, he has no leadership experience, having accomplished little during his tenure in Illinois or the Senate. His only experience is as a community organizer, a woefully inadequate preparation for the presidency. However, due to positive exposure from the media and the DNC, he has managed to catapult himself beyond far more qualified candidates. Further, he won many delegates from caucuses, a troublesome sign given that widespread caucus cheating has been documented and caucuses do not fairly represent the will of the voters. He has alienated key groups of traditionally Democratic voters. Do not be lulled into thinking that new younger voters will compensate for such voters, as they represent a huge block of moderate voters who elected Bill Clinton president. Do not think that empty phrases of change and hope can substitute for hard-core experience and a love of this country. Barack Obama’s only agenda is to get elected. He neither knows how to run this country or to be loyal to it. His loyalty is to himself alone, and to the goal of being elected president.

Hillary Clinton has substantial experience and a desire to do what is right and good for this country. While the media and the DNC abandoned her, she stood firm and strong, propelled by the loyalty and needs of eighteen million citizens. With her perseverance and policy knowledge, she demonstrated that she can lead this country while she weathered adversity and stood alone against the media and the political establishment. Eighteen million citizens still believe she is the most qualified Democrat, and will elect her to the presidency of this country if she is nominated. How do we know this? Because she withstood tremendous pressure to drop out of the race, against all odds and against the disrespect of the media and political pundits. She was villified and ridiculed, but she stood firm in her resolve. We, the citizens, will not forget the treatment that she endured. We will remember it at the polls, and we will boycott the media that participated in the disgraceful bashing of a sitting senator. Their job was to inform the public of the truth, and to stand as a reminder that we should not elect a person because of race or gender; rather, we must elect the most capable leader. They have utterly failed in that task, and their only asset, their journalistic integrity, has been squandered. A fair, unbiased, free press is one of the cornerstones of democracy, and the American press has abdicated their responsibility, and therefore put our freedom at risk.

The media has betrayed its citizens in not reporting the truth about Barack Obama: he is the product of a corrupt political Chicago system, and is not capable of leading this country. He is simply a manufactured media image. Were he to be elected, he would flounder and put this country in great financial and national security danger. The leader of the free world must be a person of great integrity and deep experience, and Obama has neither. The citizens of this country will not reward superdelegates for choosing a nominee with a troubled past and a history of radical and criminal associations. If you choose such a nominee, it will be our duty to ensure that you are not re-elected, for you will have betrayed the trust of the citizens of this country. We, the citizens, have a message for you: if you nominate Obama, you demonstrate poor judgment, and we will vote you out for your lack of judgment and loyalty to our country. To those superdelegates who took money from Obama and switched their allegiance, we can only convey our contempt for your lack of integrity and leadership. Chicago politics has already taken control of the Democratic party; do not let it take over our government.

Think very carefully about the sacrifices our forefathers have made for this country. Their blood made it possible for this great country to survive and prosper. Do not betray their sacrifice. Now you, as superdelegates, are being asked to sacrifice far less to ensure the survival and prosperity of this nation. Do not let Wall Street money or Chicago politics distract you from the task at hand. Your task is no less than to vote for the survival of this great country. The future of our children and every patriotic citizen is in your hands. Take the defensible course, and nominate Senator Hillary Clinton as the Democratic candidate for president. Rogue nations and military dictators are waiting to take advantage of an inexperienced and far left-leaning president who neither understands policy nor the complexities of diplomacy. America stands as the model of freedom and democracy for the entire world. You must uphold those ideals, or be guilty of betraying the country and eroding our freedom, and indeed the cause of democracy, around the world.

We, the citizens of this great country, are watching your choice, and your loyalty, very carefully. We fear for this country, and our liberties, if you make the wrong choice. Stand up for your country now, or see it diminished. Do not underestimate the importance of this decision. The wrong candidate will bring about an economic depression and serious instability. China, Russia, and the Middle East are waiting for an American misstep. The survival of our country is at stake. Do not disrespect the forefathers of this great nation by choosing an undeserving and imcompetent candidate. Retain your legacy now, as a protector and defender of liberty, or be known as a traitor to democracy.

Well, actually, no. All U.S. citizens who are legally eligible, and who have registered, can vote. “American” is a generic term that can be interpreted in a number of ways. “U.S. citizen” is much more specific.

The Obama campaign staff I talked to in Iowa said it was clear she did not want the vice presidency and never asked to be a part of the vetting process. Did anyone else notice Every position Obama opposed Hillary on before she dropped out he has now adopted?

Seriously he used to be against the death penalty, for immediate withdrawal, against any form of gun rights, against Fisa immunity, against the patriot act he voted to reinstate, against drilling, against education reform (equal funding per student rather then the economic gerrymandering that keeps poor kids in poor schools) and even against fighting illegal immigration. He was a hardline far left liberal i would never vote for. Now he is trying to be a moderate smart leader (or adopting her stances) the kind that made me cross party lines to support Clinton. I still won’t vote for him because I don’t trust him to KEEP his campaign promises since he already broke the ones he made to his early constituents.

It’s with a heavy heart I vote for McCain in November. He’s a good man, but Hillary despite our differences, understands universal healthcare and has been a wise head of the senate armed forces committee, and those are more important then the things I support McCain for. To bad now eh democrats? Way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. You did this in hopes of electing the first black president, to bad you didn’t check to see if it would be honest competent black president like Thomas Sowel, Colin Powel, or to a lesser extent Condoleeza Rice would be.

This debate confuses me. I have always been under the impression that our political parties were PRIVATE organizations, and that they were free to select there candidates at their own discretion. I was unaware that the Democratic party was under any obligation to hold primaries (or caucuses, for that matter) at all, or that voters had any “rights” pursuant to how the parties select their candidates. If not, the Libertarians have been getting away with it for years – they select their candidates in closed convention, with no input from the voters, as I thought was their right. So what’s all this about “disenfranchising voters”? You can’t be “disenfranchised” of a “right” you don’t possess to begin with.

I caucused in Washington, also a Democrat county in the state. We had union thugs brought in to take over our caucus. We were shouted down and told that Clinton could not win and cut off discussions as they pushed the vote. Those of us not going along were insulted, yelled at treated with disrespect. These people were not from our district, county or state but were allowed to vote without showing any type of identification.

This is not my daddy’s Democrat Party! I will never vote for Obama and at this point I feel the same about the entire party that has been hijacked by the most vile of the anti American groups. The Democrat Party is now the Communist Party.

Obama never denounced his Campaign National Co-Chair’s (Jesse Jackson, Jr.) statement to the Washington Post made after Obama’s Iowa win. The statement was:

Obama states he believes in equal pay but pays the women working in his Senate office less than the men working on his staff,. The opposite is true of John McCain.

Obama and Clinton were almost Identical on alllll issues from universal health care to the economy, ect…. for all of you to support McCain you is NOTHING like Hillary is insane. I don’t care who you voted for caucus fraud and voter intimidation needs to come right front and center into the light and be exposed. After reading Dr. Lynette Long’s papers and seeing these and many other testimonies about this it seems the entire thing IS bigger than Watergate in that we know it was orchestrated. Then add on those illegal contributions from overseas. I’m sorry but if the DNC knows about this and is going along with it they are breaking the law and subverting the will of the American people, they have taken away the most precious right we have and that is the right to have our voices heard with our votes. Without that you might as well live in a dictatorship. Anyone who cares at ALL about the democratic process ought to be very, very disturbed by this.
