Go Her Own Way and I’ll Go Mine

As Susan noted earlier, Hillary is conducting herself with class and dignity. The following video reminds us she is a winner (good work GeekLove):

The fact that I believe Barack Obama is completely unqualified and ill-prepared to be President does not necessarily mean I’m automatically voting for McCain. The Republicans called me the other day seeking money. Sorry, not a nickel. Of course, I’m not giving anymore to Dems either. But the Republicans squandered an enormous Bill Clinton surplus and essentially gutted our military and weakened our nation’s security. I don’t forgive that easily.

We will be equally taking on both candidates if Hillary is not nominated (which is highly unlikely at this juncture) here at NoQuarterUSA. If you favor Barack Obama you’re a welcome guest here. We just disagree with you. Similarly, if John McCain floats your boat welcome aboard. I hope we can promote a substantive dialogue based on substance and not invective.

But let’s also face an important fact–Obama and Biden are just flat out a better comedy team and I will have trouble resisting going for the laughs. You got to admit, President Biden and Barack America incites laughter.

You got to admit, President Biden and Barack America incites laughter.

We have just gone through eight years of having Bozo the Clown in the White House.

We need a qualified candidate. Not Cheech and Chong with their bongs and crack pipes.

  • Objective analysis

I have never laughed so hard at the Next President Joe Biden and Barack America in my life.

Republicans were laughing there asses off. Hillary supporters were saying, “You got to be kidding me.”

On the first day of no teleprompter, this guy referes to his mentor as President of the US?

    LOL!

  • G

Personally, at this point, I plan to vote for McCain. I don’t agree with most of his positions. But, in my opinion, the downside of an imperial Obama presidency is even greater.

I think Ralph Nader deserves some consideration. Yes, he has ego, but no more than most politicians. And he actually stands for something. And his positions are probably closest to my own political views.

  • SoCalDem

I don’t believe that will be humorous Obama/Biden. I find nothing funny about either of those clowns sitting in the oval office.

  • fred

My case for voting McCain, McCain respects Hillary and Admires her as a colleague and a friend. I believe because of their equal respect that Hillary would beable to pass a lot of bills in a McCain administration.

Under Obama it won’t happen, he despise her for uncovering he wasn’t the intellect he lead the voters to believe or the great orator he was teleprompter dependent. So any bill she would Legislate he would shout down, or not let her get credit for it, Why would I want to put her thur that.
McCain will be a 1 term president and under that one term Hillary could get a lot down for the country and be prepared for 2012.

  • fif

I can’t watch that video–it’s too sad. I still can’t believe she is not the nominee. What a waste.

Why are people freaking out–there’s no change of heart. Bots have been coming here freely all along. Susan & Larry are just allowing for free expression. They can make their lame arguments, and we can swat them down, just like usual.

It just seems that the last 2 posts seem to show a softening of the positions that many here share. I don’t want everyone to forget that the DNC needs to be held accountable and BO is simply unfit for the job. I certainly don’t want the group to become splintered.

NObama = vote for McCain (in that we should be unified)

  • FranSC

Larry, I too, am concerned that you said you were not saying you would vote for McCain. As Hillary supporters specifically and political animals in general, I feel sure none of us have ever been in the dark where McCain stands on the issues and that is not why I’m voting for him for sure. The only way Obama can be stopped is to vote for McCain. As much as I would love to write in Hillary’s name, that will not work either. Staying home, voting for Nader or one of the others will not take anything away from Obama. Voting for McCain will. I think it would be worth hearing from an expert on that point.

  • G

It would be nice to have a high-traffic (+ high standards) site that’s purely dedicated to opposing Obama, from a Democratic/Progressive perspective.

  • vee

I think that anyone worried about voting for McCain needs to take a long hard critical look at his life and political career. McCain has a lot of negatives- doesn’t everyone- but he has lot of substance too. I believe he has the makings of a great POTUS, although not as great as HRC would have. The Republicans have been wary of him for exactly the reasons that the people who were formerly Democratic leaning and fear Obama should be willing to embrace McCain.

  • Northwest rain

    Interesting link.

Soetoro says he was a baby when Ayers was doing his bombing with the weather Underground — however Soetoro seems to be a follower of Alinsky who died in 1972 also when Soetoro was a child. Ayers IS very much still alive and has been a close associate of Soetoro/Obama.

Alinsky’s real target was the middle class — not the poor (who have no power). Which is true — democracy comes from the middle class — and it is the middle class that the Chicago School of economics Milton Friedman tried to eliminate with his Shock Economics. And in many countries where the “pure” market economy (religion) was used the middle class took the hardest hit — half or more of the middle class was eliminated. Obama’s economic advisers are from the Chicago School of Economics (see Noami Klein “Shock Doctrine”).

Here’s a quote from the above link: Alinsky advises his followers that the poor have no power and that the real target is the middle class: “Organization for action will now and in the decade ahead center upon America’s white middle class. That is where the power is. … Our rebels have contemptuously rejected the values and the way of life of the middle class. They have stigmatized it as materialistic, decadent, bourgeois, degenerate, imperialistic, war-mongering, brutalized and corrupt. They are right; but we must begin from where we are if we are to build power for change, and the power and the people are in the middle class majority.”

But that didn’t stop Alinsky and his followers from using the middle class for their own purposes. They counted on the guilt and shame of the white middle class to get what they wanted. In order to take over institutions and get power, the middle class had to be convinced that they were somehow lucky winners in “life’s lottery.”

It’s not about Obama and It’s not about McCain.

    It’s about “Never Again”!

Never again will we allow Our Democratic Party to be dominated by sexist pigs who disdain one half the human race just because they are Female.

Never again will we allow our Democratic Party to brand good people like Bill Clinton and Mrs Ferraro Racists.

Never again will we allow the media to be run by males like Olbermann who denigrate women every night as a sport.

Never again will we allow a corrupt DNC to rob a female candidate of votes and delegates, so they can be given to the male candidate.

Never again will we allow mature women to be roughed up by party thugs.

Never again will we tolerate “smoked filled room” good old boys, called “super delegates” to over turn the out come and the will of the people of a six month Democratic primary.

    Hillary didn’t loose!
Hillary has won by exposing all of these coruptions.

It now falls to us, her supporters to decide what we are going to do about it.

    Sweep it under the rug??
    Pretend it didn’t happen??
say party unity is more important than reform??

The reality of the conventions of the nex two weeks is that 2008 is a write off.

    Choose McCain or Obama.
I choose McCain and here is why in a nut shell.

Because we must look to reform of the Party and 2012 it is a no brainer.

To bring about reform, we must bring about a resounding defeat of Obama, the DNC and the M.S. Media. in November.

    It’s called No Quarter!

Failure in November will allow us to purge and reform the Party, with PUMAs leading the reforms.

I’ll vote McCain because I will not reward Obama and the DNC.

I’ll vote McCain so that PUMA, not Obama can bring about change.

  • bert

I like the idea of NQ taking on both candidates in this election. And I don’t mind Obamabots being here mostly because I love the responses some of you have to them. They give me lots of laughter and that will help me get through this election.

I will not be watching any of the convention. I just won’t be able to stomach any of it for myriad and complex reasons. I also will not be watching any news shows this week. I can’t take that much Obama. I will get my news of the convention here at NQ. Thanks ahead of time to all of you for watching and reporting.

And I respect Larry for not supporting either candidate. He has his reasons and they are as well thought out as each of our decisions. I am just glad that since February I found a place I can feel comfortable visiting and participating at during this election cycle. Otherwise I would have to be going cold turkey by giving up all politics. And that would be TOO hard.

And last of all, I am proud of Hillary for showing such class and dignity. She is the best. And even though she will ask me to vote for Obama, I can’t and I won’t.

Now we will see who McCain will choose as his running mate. Given what we’ve seen so far I’m willing to bet we’ll be unpleasantly surprised. What a stupid goddamned election – and at such a critical juncture. The press, distracted by a shiny object, has crushed a qualified, serious candidate. What a mess.

  • AnneinPA

Hmmmmm. – This talk sounds almost EXACTLY like TAYLOR MARSH a few months ago…

“We welcome Obama supporters”, “We can agree to disagree” Everyone needs to play nice”

By the way, that is why so many of us LEFT her site and were more than happy to do so.

  • Obama is a bum

“Why are people freaking out–there’s no change of heart”

It appears there is. They have already started the anti-McCain articles.

  • Retired

Ultimately, each of us will have to choose. And not voting, or writing in a choice that we know has no chance of winning as an act of exasperation or defiance, is effectively a vote for Senator Obama, if he indeed ends up as the Democratic nominee.

There is no sitting this one out. If you oppose Obama, you must vote for the only candidate that has a chance of beating him–McCain–or Obama will be elected President. If you want Senator Clinton to run in 2012, you must actively oppose Obama and vote for McCain in order to give her a chance. If Obama is elected, Sen. Clinton will never get the chance to run for President.

These are just hard realities that we as American adults must face. I don’t like them, but I acknowlege them and plan to act accordingly.

  • Ai1een

WELL SAID William L. Donlon – PERFECT as a matter of fact. That is the feeling of the majority of PUMAs in a nutshell.

  • Ai1een

I profoundly DISAGREE – I think we Hillary supporters have been inundated with Obama supporters on the MSM, and every Democratic site we previously frequented we’ve been “trolled to DEATH” and now No Quarter is telling us they’re welcomed…
    WTF?

I mentioned yesterday to an Obama troll to keep coming – it only made NQ more successful in terms of hits and advertising – I did this to scare them away…I didn’t think it was actually the new PC here.

  • Zee

Is there a clip of this?? I missed it!

  • http://www.barrysoetoro.com Jeremiah God Damn Amerikkka Wright

I posted this in the McCain thread but i want to reiterate.

It is no great accomplishment to Follow in the Footsteps of Taylor Marsh.

    Sorry.

I have to agree here. There is simply too much at stake.

Riding the fence is going to make this site feel schizofrenic.

You can’t play both sides of the issue now. Not after how hard we battled for hillary.

Hillary has no choice. She has dedicated her life to working in the system to make it work better for her fellow citizens. She is now doing what she has no choice but to do. Would you have her sacrifice herself politically to make a point at this stage when you know the rest of the lemmings refuse to stop? Or would you have her live to fight another day?

But us? we are not politicians, we are ordinary americans.

And we DO own our votes.

For us to take a stand and fight for what we believe in or fight against what we dont costs us very little in comparison.

Frankly, if i want to read about how babies are sacrificed in the basement of all 7 of McCains mansions i can go to Daily Kos or Huffington Post to get that, and pandering to coverage of negative John McCain stories here will draw that type of troll and those types of stories even more.

We have enough of a troll problem already.

This is where i come to hang out with other intelligent whitty (not whitey) non-pod people of free mind who were strongly for Hillary and are still highly offended by how she was treated and are truly horrified (not through ignorance of but because we have learned so much about) at the prospect of an obama presidency.

I can get my John McCain is evil at plenty of other sites.

I can understand that you are concerned that the site might become less relevant now that hillary is nearly out of the race, so by attacking both McCain and Obama you can keep it in the mix, but i am not sure thats a wise decision.

First the Trolling and hostility on the threads will sky rocket. What is considered a great poster on one thread would qualify as a total troll on another…there goes the neighborhood.

Secondly, Playing the devils advocate on both sides of the fence in this most crucial presidential election implies there is truly no (god i hate to use this word after how meaningless Obama has made it) hope for us as americans this cycle.

Draw the battle line and choose your side.

    If Not Hillary then who?

Are we to simply forget how she, we have been treated?

Are we to forget all we know about the scum of chicago?

Are we to give up hope of getting our party back?

Are we to give up and become compliant now because well…because Hillary lost?

Its not about Hillary anymore after the convention. Its about our hijacked party.

The Fix has been in since 2005 when they moved the final day of the convention to make the historic acceptance speech even more historic…come on.

Knowing all you know Larry and Susan…

    Knowing all you know…

…You can not in good faith vote Present.

Not after all we have discovered about Obama here.

Not after all that has been done by the corrupt in the DNC.

    Not after all we know.

To vote Present now, Larry and Susan, is to pull an Obama.

Whether anyone likes it or not, one of these two will become President in January 2009. (unless a “Hillary” miracle unfolds this week.) Sitting out Election Day will favor Obama more than McCain. Therefore I must go to the polls in November to ensure that that Democratic disaster doesn’t make it to the White House. It was a painful decision for me, but it had to be made. Because I can’t take the chance of a borderline Communist/Socialist crook becoming POTUS.

Trolls don’t bother me, as a matter of fact, just the opposite. They never argue substance, or experience, or even attempt to give us any reasons to vote for Obama other than the antiquated Roe v Wade issue, or “hope” and “change”, and it just solidifies my opinion that McCain is the better choice in November. They are poor advocates, in sharp contrast to the great Hillary supporters I have met on the blogs, and while I do not agree with Larry’s decision to not support McCain, he has my utmost respect for this awesome site and his continued scrutiny of all things Obama.

I donno about voting for McCain. I have a problem with the fiscal policy. I think he will wuss out on the social conservative issues like abortion but regardless of how we control the population, life for the living will not be for shit unless this fucked up capitalist enterprise is brought under control.

McCain remarked that he didn’t want the VP because he already had spent five years of his life in a jail cell and did not want to spend another eight years locked away.

That points out the goddamn shame of pulling Biden out of the Senate. He is one of the Democrat Party’s lucid foreign policy people. It’s a waste to put him in the joint for eight years if Barry gets elected.

Then there’s that cluster fuck Brzezinski…….

And the Republicans cannot run a government.

A silent vote, of a stay home vote, write in vote, a third party vote, is a vote for Obama. Are we prepared to have him in office for 8 yrs, McCain is alot better choice , I will voice my vote, by voting experience , character, pride and integrity. Country before Party, I will not be one of those saying darn i should have voted. My vote matters to me, and i will not fall in line to vote for a bag of wind, McCain has a record, somethings i do not agree with; but I prefer him over Obama anyday. NObama, I own my vote McCain, I will not help elect Bambie into office by not voting.

Here is the original Opinion piece all these bullshit stories started from that created this mess:

This opinion was posted on Yahoo from Nation at 1:18 am sunday.

    http://www.thenation.com/blogs/campaignmatters/348001/will_clinton_release_her_delegates

Will Clinton Release Her Delegates? posted by John Nichols on 08/24/2008 @ 01:18am

DENVER — Will Hillary Clinton’s name actually be placed in nomination for the presidency on the third day of the Democratic National Convention?

And if the senator’s name is placed in nomination, will there be an actual roll-call vote? Or will a call be made for the nomination of Barack Obama by acclamation?

Those are the last open questions of the convention that will open Monday in Denver.

On Wednesday afternoon, at 1 p.m., Clinton will gather her delegates, alternates and allies at the Colorado Convention Center.

A crowd of 5,000 is expected, according to Clinton aides and allies.

Clinton could issue a call to arms. And she has an agreement with the Obama campaign to go forward with the nomination and roll-call.

But Clinton and her aides are worried.

Many of her delegates have formally endorsed Obama, and more than a few plan to vote for him on that first ballot.

There is open discussion in the Clinton camp about what the embarrassment level might be?

What if her vote were to fall below the 1,219 secured by the Rev. Jesse Jackson at the 1988 Democratic National Convention?

Or the 596 that former California Governor Jerry Brown received at the 1992 convention — the last to see nominations and a roll-call involving challengers to the eventual nominee?

Clinton is unlikely to risk it.

The New York senator can, and very probably will, release her delegates at the meeting Wednesday afternoon.

She has a super-delegate vote and she is now expected to announce that she will cast it for Obama.

Her 40 floor “whips” — who have been polling and consulting with delegates — would then encourage Clinton backers to follow the senator’s lead.

If that happens, the contest for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination will formally be done before the roll-call vote.

That does not mean that, if a roll-call were to go forward, Clinton would get no votes.

But if Clinton is not nominated, votes cast for her could under convention rules be counted as “present.” And there might not be all that many of them.

This Opinion Piece was then carried on Yahoo news here:

This is dirty politics at its finest. Make it look like you are magnamious, pout out an opinion piece saying that Clinton should release to avoid embarrassment, follow it up with unnamed anonymous sources parroting it as fact, and create a news media firestorm that makes it look like its already decided to push them into a corner that makes them look like trouble makers if they dont.

Nice Job Obama campaign you guys are the dirtiest scummiest bunch of thugs this side of…well…both sides of obama’s mouth.

If Larry and Susan start writing anti McCain articles, I’m out of here and I hope everyone else will leave too. I know enough about Obama to know he is bad for this country. So… are we being played now by Larry and Susan? Is this a game? I’ve pretty much had it and I’m not in the mood for more games!!

I should be sleeping, I have to work @ 6:40am but I also have to throw my 2 cents out there.

I have becoming here for a while now, and have learned quite a bit.

Ramping up the rhetoric from the PRO Obama/Anti McCain camp is going to make those that have been here awhile leave in droves. The trolls will take over like they have everywhere else. With them slinging their brand of shit.

You cant have it both ways, pick a side. If your choice sucks, hey it least you picked ONE. People do it everyday.

  • typical.white.person

As Obama would say, this is above my pay grade.

The article gives two diametrically opposed views, but does not clear the matter up.

These paragraphs state how Hillary has “suspended” her campaign, but retained her nominees:

Clinton, who suspended her presidential campaign in June after Obama secured enough delegates to win the party’s nomination, will meet with her delegates at a reception in Denver on Wednesday afternoon — before that evening’s delegate vote on the nominee, said a Democratic official who asked not to be named.

    .

Clinton, who suspended her presidential campaign in June after Obama secured enough delegates to win the party’s nomination, will meet with her delegates at a reception in Denver on Wednesday afternoon — before that evening’s delegate vote on the nominee, said a Democratic official who asked not to be named.

While these paragraphs suggest that the sanctions against Michigan and Florida would not be lifted as long as Hillary was still a viable candidate:

Meanwhile, the Democratic National Committee unanimously voted to end sanctions against Florida and Michigan.

The party initially stripped Florida and Michigan of their delegates for holding presidential primaries earlier than the party had wanted. However, in late May, the DNC’s rules and bylaws committee voted to reinstate the delegates but give them each a half-vote.

Sunday’s decision gives the delegates a full vote at the convention.

Ending the sanctions had been a goal of Clinton, who won Florida and Michigan in her unsuccessful bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. Obama endorsed lifting the sanctions after Clinton’s withdrawal from the race.

So, if the sanctions have been lifted, and the delegates from Florida and Michigan have full voting rights, is Hillary still an actual nominee, or did Obama force her to some type of agreement in advance.

In other words, is Hillary’s campaign merely “suspended” or has she already “surrendered” to Obama?

  • typical.white.person

My only guess Tampa is that they want to get bigger like Huff.
This is an unique blog. We all know how we got here. Any change to a pro Obama stance will kill the site.
I may add that Hannity and Levin have mentioned NQ as being notorious which I take as a compliment.
This site needs trolls to be healthy.
I usually feel much better after blowing up a troll.
Lately as Obama has tanked this site hasn’t had as many Obama prey willing to be humiliated.
So maybe like other news channels Susan and Larry are attempting to stimulate debate and create a bigger site.
If you want me to stick around this site better be Pro McCain and anti-Obama

  • typical.white.person

Shit like this cracks me up:

Senator Hillary Clinton just made a remarkable charge against her senate colleague and presidential rival Barack Obama. In a heated moment when she tried to portray him as an unknown, flip-flopping quantity she said: “You said you would vote against the PATRIOT Act — you came to the senate and voted for it.”

Obama would flip-flop on critical issues, Hillary would call him on it, and he is still steaming mad like a two0year-old. Pretty funny stuff.

  • http://www.barrysoetoro.com Jeremiah God Damn Amerikkka Wright

What happened? I dunno. Its kind of shocking. Here are some possible scenarios.

    A) Obama has dispatched Some of his radical followers who are holding Larry hostage right now and controlling him…

    B) That 57 million Obama raised in July is going to be depositied in his bank account if certain things happen, and there is more where that came from…

    C) Someone spiked Larry’s Coffee with Kool-aid…

    D) Larry has inside information that the fix is in for November and if he knows whats good for him he will start toning it down or else…

    E) Larry has been abducted and replaced by a Pod Person. The real Larry has been dropped off somewhere in the heart of the amazon in his underwear with a pack of matches, a plastic spork and a deck of cards and will not be heard from again till after the election…

    F) Obama really is the Messiah and Larry and Susan have seen the light…

    G) The Apocolypse has arrived…

  • tampagurl

If you want me to stick around this site better be Pro McCain and anti-Obama

Amen, I have enough headaches I don’t need to come to a schizophrenic site that doesn’t know which candidate to support! Obama is a piece of shit and I wouldn’t vote for him for dog catcher!

Maybe Larry and Susan are hedging their bets so that they can work for either administration that wins.

The person I disrespect the most right now is TM.
    I hope you’re not pulling a TM!

  • Five Thirty

William L. Donlon – you’re right. A Democratic Party that runs such a crooked primary cannot be allowed the reward of the Executive.

I also would like to see the msm finally exposed – the msm who cheered on the war in Iraq and willfully ignored economic disaster – who in their leadership is working so hard towards the destruction of the American middle class?

  • Linda K

Yes, Jeremiah, I, too, sadly agree. If we don’t hold the DNC accountable and instead choose “the ends justifies the means” argument then what’s the point of any of this. I have looked forward to being on this site and being amidst like-minded individuals who know we need to stay strong or not only our Party, but our country is lost. That quote again comes to mind: we need to hang together or we will hang separately. There is simply too much at stake, not the least of which is one person one vote.

You are so RIGHT. Sitting on the FENCE isn’t sitting on the FENCE at all…it’s voting Obama.

Writing long negative articles against McCain = campaigning for Obama.

  • Christy

I can’t vote BO. If McCain wins, Hillary can run again in 2012.

McCain sucks, but BO is way worse. He doesn’t even like America, and he hates White people. He is a liar, a cheat, and he is stupid. He flipped Hillary off and brushed her off his shoulders like some kind of juvenile delinquent freak. He’s horrible, I can’t stand him.

Plus I can’t stand to hear his voice.

  • Christy

Well, I understand what you are saying Larry. Suppose that POS BO actually won, it would be better to laugh for 4 years than cry. BO is certainly a bigger clown than McCain, that’s true.

But BO isn’t going to win. He is going down in flames. I’m voting McCain…….

  • wodiej

    well said William.

as for this blog and turning the tide, it sounds to me like it may turn like the Taylor Marsh site did so be prepared. She said the same things. She would say she wasn’t supporting Obama, she would just say she was fighting against the Republicans-SAME DAMN THIING-SUPPORTING OBAMA.

What I don’t get is when it comes right down to the nitty gritty, some people are voting Democrat for party’s sake. John McCain is not just running on the Republican ticket. He is much more to the center than Bush. He will work across the aisle. He is a great patriot and very courageous as shown by his tormented tortured duty in a POW Vietnam camp. He is experienced. He is mature. He is not everything I want in a candidate. But he does hold our country in high self esteem-he loves this country.

I agree w others that the only way to stop this horseshit that the Dem’s have done is to vote for McCain who is the better candidate. It will also show the Dem’s that we will not just accept any fraud or phony.

And if this site becomes overrun with punks and thugs I AM OUT OF HERE. I will not waste my energy on a site that supports anyone who SAT IN A RACIST, AMERICAN HATING CHURCH FOR 20 YEARS.

  • wodiej

agreed…and he sat in a racist, American hating church for 20 years. If I had no other reason in the world to not vote for Obama, that alone would do it.

  • http://! Clinton Fan

That is a SPOT ON video, and sums up my feelings, precisely.

I loved the Walk Down Memory Lane, with Obama’s childish snubs.

Four years of McCain, with a Democratic Congress forced to WORK FOR A CHANGE, will not be the end of the world.

Clinton can come back in 2012 and kick some serious ass.

  • ownaa

Comedy in the white house is not a laughing matter. Some people can afford to sit back and laugh about it. For others it meant the differance between life and death. Just go back and revisit the #s of avoidable deaths and destructions that happened the last 8 years. We have to fight this people to the last possible second, apathy is not acceptable.

  • DAB

To take a personal measure of the man, check out “The Great McCain Story You’ve Probably Forgotton”.

    http://www.slate.com/id/2188545/

If we let the Dems get away with this debacle by electing BO, they will never learn — can’t let that happen.

Just combine a strong Dem Congress with a moderate McCain Presidency — divided government can accomplish a lot. Just look at what Bill Clinton did with a hostile Republican Congress.

  • Brodie

If this site is becoming pro-Obama I’ll be moving on to Uppity Woman’s blog also. I just can’t stand the pro-Obama crap and I’m not gonna have it any more than him. Will not vote for Barky, will not listen to the pro-Barky crapola, either. Hope NQ doesn’t go that way, but it seems something is afoot. If that is the case, I’ll see y’all over at Uppity’s blog, ’cause I sure as shit won’t be hanging around here anymore. Too bad, really. Oh, well- this has been a helluva year for bitter disappointment… P.U.M.A.!!

  • Katmoon

Concur Seattle Moss. I can’t do it, there isn’t an ounce of support in me for Obama, and hasn’t been for a long time. Yes, I think folks should express, and always knew that here, but I am not going to be party to anything that could possibly help O win.

  • BILLF

David Shuster of NBC just commented that Biden was announced Saturday to give Hillary’s supporters time to absorb the news that she wouldn’t be the running mate, “since they don’t undertand politics very well.”

I’ve already been called a racist and a right-wing wacko by Obamabots this election. So now I’m stupid too?

  • karen for Clinton

There is nothing new about what Larry said, no change in direction and his diary backs up what has been the case here all along. The posts above fretting over whether NQ will become another TM is a big over reaction imho. Re-read what Larry wrote and don’t panic. He says “not necessarily” and he says “WE just disagree” so nothing changed. Damn, let’s not fall apart now!

The obots have always been welcome here to an extent. They are permitted an opinion unless they become overly threatening, vile or disruptively spam the place with talking points from hell constantly.

At first I found that annoying here, I didn’t want to have to read their crap, but I realized it is the right thing to do and to do otherwise we’d be just as hypocritical as the one sided propaganda spewed on ob boards. “Our way or the highway” isn’t pro free speech, it is censoring opinion. So now I just read a bit of their comments and scroll past most of it when they are behaving in a ludicrous psy-op way.

All of us will decide what to do on election day as we face the ballot, finger poised over a name.

We do not even know who the Rep VP will be, and we do not yet know what will come out over the next 10 or so weeks.

So just CHILL. This is a process that has had sickening aspects to it, and if we don’t laugh at it we would become ill by it.

This place has been a haven from media spin and for that alone I’m not about to insult NQ, but that is just one reason of many to continue our unity.

Thanks to all the contributors for the research and links you provide to us all and for giving Hillary her well deserved voice during her time of great need.

We had and continue to have her back, and that is no small undertaking since she has been a constant victim of hatred and a CDS promoting MSM.

    Thanks Lar.

  • karen for Clinton

The “low information” voter meme is a freaking joke and it always has been. I’d bet each of us have debated ob fanatics who have no clue what they are supporting and are filled with misinformation.

They also keep calling the 18 million people who voted for Hill “angry WOMEN” as if there are no males who would want her as president.

    Consider the source. Shuster. ack.

  • PadrePIo

    Larry:

Who do you think Valarie Plame is supporting some one who is seeking and taking Karl Roves advise? If you believe what you’ve said about the criminality of outing a covert CIA operative you can’t trust McCain to do anything different if he is elected. How much influence will Karl Rove have in a McCain White House?

  • Ex PUMA

Do you not realize that association with PUMA is a nono? They have been exposed as nothing but liars who set about trying to destroy Hillary in order to boost McCain.

That is why Will Bowers said on Fox News that PUMA has cleared her debts. That is why Darragh Murphy – a previous McCain donator set up PUMA PAC. If you look her up there is still no donation to Clinton listed against her by the FEC. The same can not be said for Larry Johnson, who at least donated to Clinton before getting involved with the Just say No Deal camp.

Will Bowers did more to destroy any hopes of a Clinton Presidency than Obama, the DNC, or the Republicans put together. Way to go PUMA.

  • Jane

David Shuster of NBC just commented that Biden was announced Saturday to give Hillary’s supporters time to absorb the news that she wouldn’t be the running mate, “since they don’t undertand politics very well.”

    Will the misogyny never end?

  • bluesmyfavcolor

Well, you could visit redstate.com if you are looking for some good Obama bashing. Why do you feel that a progressive sight should indulge you?

  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

McCain may not know how many houses he owns, but one can be reasonably certain that he’s aware of how many names he goes by:

    BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA, a/k/a :
    BARRY SOETORO, a/k/a :
    BARRY OBAMA , a/k/a :
    BARACK DUNHAM, a/k/a :
    BARRY DUNHAM,
    JURY TRIAL DEMANDED

  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

Now we will see who McCain will choose as his running mate. Given what we’ve seen so far I’m willing to bet we’ll be unpleasantly surprised.

He’ll probably go with a conservative Veep choice to prop up the base. But I don’t think it’ll be Romney.

  • vi

OH stop,McCain has always been his own person, bumping heads with his party, so none of that, more than what i can say about Obama, a man who has radical terroist friends, , no stand or conviction on anything he truly believes in and, handed the presidencty with out even having the experience, Mccain is known and he has the experience and we know he works well with Hillary, and will cross that party line to get things done. Now , fun has been made of McCain on how many houses he owns , or shall i say his wifes trust; but lets take a look if he did not get a haircut for one month, he would provide a better life for his half brother in Kenya, so if he cant help and take care of his family in Kenya , what makes you think he will help the working class Americans and those who believe in his big bag of air. No thank you , I will take a chance with McCain,.I own my vote, time to bann together one vote one voice NObama., Ever.Puma, A silent vote ofr Obama, is a no vote, stay home vote, third party vote is a Yes vote for Obama Vote. I will not help elect Obama into office

Hey, who is this, and what have you done with the Real Larry Johnson! Lol!

Looks like you have a mini-revolt on your hands, Larry. Tough to put that Hate Genie back in the bottle, isn’t it?

On a serious note, I applaud your efforts to keep an open mind about the election, and not simply cede your support to John McCain. As an Obama supporter, all I can ask is that you listen to him with an open heart and mind.

I hope this site will continue to call Obama on his BS. Despite the stereotype about Obama supporters being “kool-aid” drinkers, I have a very clear view of Obama. He is not the messiah. His resume is compelling but thin, and I have found Obama’s campaign to be arrogant at times (the “presidential seal” was so ridiculous!). BO needs to be called on it, and this site could continue to provide a very good venue for that. I also hope, as you stated, that you will look at McCain and his campaign through a more critical lens. Your readers need to know what he stands for, and not just vote for him because he’s “not Obama”.

Ironically, the position you are advocating will only INCREASE the strength of the PUMA movement. It will force both Obama and McCain to work hard for your votes.

However judging from some of these posts, you’re going to have a tough time reigning in the troops. Good luck!

  • mimi

I have never joined any of these groups. I’m on record as saying that I was on a solitary path with my one vote. I did not need PUMA or JUST SAY NO! I realized that Clinton was NEVER going to receive the nomination back in early May, maybe even sooner. The DNC & the msm gang bang of her, coupled with the hysteria of the AA community was too much to overcome.

I made my decision and I’m sticking by it. I will not vote for 0bama. I live in a rock solid blue state that I think if things continue on this path for 0bama just might turn red. That would be the most outrageous turn of events in this election. My state always votes Dem.

If McCain is within the margin of error here, I’m voting for him. It’s the only way to show the Democratic Party how absolutely disgusted I am with the way they handled their Primary.

This determination to undermine disenfranchised Democrats who have legitimate grievances with the way the Primary played out by calling us Republicans in drag is compounding this tragedy of errors.

I know nothing of the PUMA leaders or the JUST SAY NO PEOPLE. I don’t even know their names. If they’ve been exposed, well count me as not being shocked. Politics is dirty. Just ask 0bama and his Chicago machine.

I don’t need an organization to carry out my democratic privilege of voting. And it’s truly sad that so many people have hitched their aspirations on people whose intentions are less than honorable. It’s also been a bit delusional that some people continue to believe that Hillary will wind up with the nomination.

No amount of dirt you dredge up on 0bama is going to make that happen this week. That should have been abundantly clear weeks ago.

People need to focus on the basic reasons to not support his candidacy:

    1. Inexperience
    2. Lack of transparency
    3. Playing of the race card
    4. His ideological views based on his alliances
    5. Caucus fraud
    6. The DNC coup
    7. The msm manipulation of the news and their blatant sexism which 0bama never condemned

These reasons alone are enough to not vote for him.

Sorry, if for some of you the idea of voting for McCain is a fate worse than death. That’s your problem and you’ll have to live with that should 0bama get elected.

I don’t have that problem because my anger is over the top with the Democrats and my goal is to teach them a lesson. I made up my mind that this is the LAST TIME I’m going to let the Democratic Party do this to me. If that means voting Republican, so be it.

    WIN WITHOUT ME!

    I’m not.

Larry just stated what was always the policy on No Quarter. All opinions have been welcomed.

I’m not insecure about my right to vote for whom I choose.

Nothing the 0bamabots can say will move me at this point.

They will be talking to the hand as they have been since December.

    WIN WITHOUT ME!

Talk about drinking the Hannity kool-aid.

Every politician in the State of IL, Republican and Democrat alike, had some connection to Tony Rezko. No one has found ANY wrongdoing on Obama’s part in his dealings w/ Rezko. Besides, I think the Rezko issues is more than wiped out by the Keating 5

He barely knew William Ayers. He was 8 years old when Ayers was blowing up stuff.

The Rev Wright issue is more troubling, because he knew the guy for 20 years. I hope Obama comes out and explains more about his relationship with him. Wright appears to me to be a demogogue stuck in a time warp. But do you have any evidence Obama follows the same ideology as Wright?

I don’t see why people are so shocked.

Larry has always been up-front about not liking or supporting McCain.

Susan has also said in her way that she could not vote Republican.

Guess people hear don’t listen or read much.

  • mimi

    Exactly!

This is where I’m coming from.

It stopped being about Hillary for me way back in May.

    It’s about the Democratic Party.

I intend to SHOW them the money!

    My one vote is power!

This is why I don’t care how many anti-McCain ads they post here or anywhere else.

    WIN WITHOUT ME!

  • mimi

And if that happens, I’m out of here.

The Internet is a big place.

    But even more important:

    MY ONE VOTE!

Nothing anyone can say or do will persuade me.

    WIN WITHOUT ME!

  • OhioMary

And to vote present or not vote at all will be doing what they hope we will do. He can possibly win if we do not vote for McCain.

I am not fully behind McCain, but I do see him as a much better alternative than Obama.

  • mimi

Somehow, this comment isn’t really shocking.

Don’t you all get that 0bama is disdainful of everyone?

I can’t wait till AAs find out how he really thinks about them.

But you know, the way we’ve been so Party loyal over the years, has given them reason to believe we are stupid.

That’s why I am voting for McCain.

The Dems will never get the chance to pull that football out from under my kick again. I will not be Charlie Brown to their Lucy.

    So nothing shocks me anymore.

  • mimi

Perhaps, despite what the polls are saying, Biden set a lot of foreign policy types at ease.

    Me, not so much.

He couldn’t win on his own. Why is that?

Also, I still believe the fix is in.

0bama’s tanking polls are making it difficult for them to pull it off.

And one more thing, I seriously don’t remember Larry or Susan once saying they supported McCain. In fact, Larry stated clearly and emphatically the opposite.

  • DancingOpossum

G, Ralph Nader’s credibility is pretty well shot. Also, he isn’t running this time. If you think you like his positions, consider the Green Party candidate, Cynthia McKinney.

Well Larry I like your blog but I think if you don’t vote – that equals a vote for Obama. I also think that if you write in Hillary that is a vote for Obama too! Obama will not get my vote – I will vote for McCain.

  • TeakwoodKite

I agree with the jist of your point, but where is the “NO Quarter” in this?

In making a choice of who to support, and with the full knowledge that each candidate has “foot prints”, does one not “track” them both?

The balance is difficult but nessasary, personal preference aside.
