Last night I had a conversation with a Texas Delegate. She asked me to replay Michelle Obama’s words on voting for Hillary, or should I say not voting for Hillary. I think we need to remember her disparaging remarks as she takes the center this evening at the Democratic National Convention. Is Michelle Obama really First Lady material? It’s long but all Democrats really need to read it. It explains the thinking behind the “western strategy” that I keep hearing Obama, Axelrod and Dean are counting on. (You know, the reason they don’t worry about Ohio, Pa, etc.) The idea is that the party needs to focus on western states like Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, Wyoming, – the states where not too many people live. But their cities have a lot of those young “knowledge workers” that cool guys like to court. Some of the highlights are:

-the party will be more about the haves than the have-nots (Don’t they already control one party?)
-it will focus more on small businesses, not social justice, universal health care or workers’ protections
-it will be focused more on Hispanics than African Americans

Surprise all you Obama supporters in the black community!! It’s really not about you at all. You were just a means to an end. And it’s really not going to be the Democratic Party anymore either if these guys get their way. Just Republican without the religious obsession.

It does clear up the reason that Barack was so intent on destroying the Clintons. They actually believe in working for the little guy and would not support this shift in principles – or away from principles.

I lived in Colorado and Montana all my life. Montana is called the Treasure State because of mining and oil. It takes a hell of a Democrat to overcome their Republican ways. They will not vote for Obama.

Colorado may have elites living in the cities, but more rural Coloradans vote. Agriculture still pretty much runs the West. Why did Salazar Brothers win? They are a rancher and a farmer whose family has been in Colorado five generations. And Ken Salazar did a great job protecting Colorado water as AG. Obama will not win Colorado.

I was unfamiliar with the road and turned right onto Dike Road, instead of bearing hard left on Main Street. After proceeding for approximately one-half mile on Dike Road I descended a hill and came upon a narrow bridge. The car went off the side of the bridge. There was one passenger with me, one Miss Mary [Kopechne],[14] a former secretary of my brother Sen. Robert Kennedy. The car turned over and sank into the water and landed with the roof resting on the bottom. I attempted to open the door and the window of the car but have no recollection of how I got out of the car. I came to the surface and then repeatedly dove down to the car in an attempt to see if the passenger was still in the car. I was unsuccessful in the attempt. I was exhausted and in a state of shock. I recall walking back to where my friends were eating. There was a car parked in front of the cottage and I climbed into the backseat. I then asked for someone to bring me back to Edgartown. I remember walking around for a period and then going back to my hotel room. When I fully realized what had happened this morning, I immedately contacted the police.

Under Massachusetts law Boyle, having found “probable cause” that Kennedy had committed a crime, could have issued a warrant for his arrest, but he did not do so.[28] District Attorney Dinis chose not to pursue Kennedy for manslaughter, despite Judge Boyle’s conclusions.

The Kopechne family did not bring any legal action against Senator Kennedy, but they did receive a payment of $90,904 from the Senator personally and $50,000 from his insurance company.[29] The Kopechnes later explained their decision to not take legal action by saying that “We figured that people would think we were looking for blood money.”[29]
