It’s Not About Hillary Anymore

Some Hillary supporters are upset that the McCain campaign is using Hillary’s “defeat” to stir the flames of resentment to sway votes toward the GOP. SusanUnPc wrote a very moving piece about this. And then there are the people, women even, who, by using sophistry, disparage Hillary’s supporters, women especially, declaring that by being angry at the way the media and the Obama campaign treats Hillary, we are creating more sexism. Really? What horse pucky is that! Instead, I agree with, Joanne Bamberger who posted this last May on Huffpo:

When someone calls Hillary Clinton a bitch, it’s not just about her. It’s about me and my fellow MOMocrats and my sister. It’s about my mother and my aunts and my daughter. It’s about mothers and friends and women who haven’t even become the next generation of leaders, yet.The most famous and infamous TV pundits aren’t reserving their ‘looks are everything’ moments to talk of Hillary’s cleavage or wrinkles. There are no limits. We are all fair game.

And then there’s Hillary herself, who in all the newspapers and TV blips is calling for her supporters to line up behind the presumptive nominee. HIllary’s most devoted supporters are in a double bind: we do not want to see Hillary blamed if Obama is defeated, and we absolutely want to see Obama go down like the Titanic. Our anger is not about Hillary “losing.” This is about a stolen nomination, about the takeover of the Democratic party by the neo-liberals and the so-called progressives who use sexism, misogyny, and ageism with abandon, who belittle and insult blue collar workers and who use accusations of racism against anyone who points out that Hillary actually won the popular vote. In response to CNN’s Roland Martin, TGW writes:

Why oh why, lectures Roland, can’t Hillary and her supporters put party over “your petty personal issues.” Roland also threw around the word “dumb,” but refused to specify if he was calling Hillary “dumb” or her supporters. And we were just getting used to the term “dead-enders.”But you heard him. Fall in line little wimin! Or in the words of Barack Obama, just ‘get over it.’

If I hadn’t already been a feminist for the past 40 years, this whole primary debacle would be my conversion. Watching how it continues to be open season for shooting down Hillary, many people, not only women but especially women, have moved passed the primary and into a vast and airless realm of unreality. How has my party, the Democratic Party, become so corrupt? They use sexism to demean Hillary and ugly power plays to “defeat” her, as we saw in the RBC decision regarding MI and FL. Some of us are willing to forego our allegiance to the party because IT NO LONGER REPRESENTS US AND OUR VALUES:

Ooops. Somebody isn’t falling in line. In a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll taken after Obama announced his VP pick, 27 percent of Hillary supporters say they’ll vote for McCain, up from 16 percent in late June. “The number of Clinton Democrats who say they would vote for McCain has gone up 11 points since June.”

Using the argument about the Supreme Court judges and Roe v Wade to guilt-trip people into voting for Obama is the height of hypocrisy in a party that has used sexism and misogyny to undermine the very best candidate for women. Do they think women are so issue oriented that we will allow one of our smartest and strongest leaders to be a sacrificial victim on the altar of their agenda and go along with it? For many women, this has gone far beyond Hillary, far beyond the election, far beyond platform politics:

With the brothers Roland Martin and Jack Caffetry lecturing the little wimin about our “petty personal issues,” the numbers of rebellious women can only increase.

For example, read this post by Riverdaughter, which she begins with a quote from Dowd’s Hillary-blaming piece a few weeks back. Dowd wrote, “Hillary Clinton feels no guilt about encouraging her supporters to mess up Barack Obama’s big moment, thus undermining his odds of beating John McCain.” Riverdaughter posts in response to this:

Ladies, putting aside the lie that Hillary is putting us up to this (she has absolutely nothing to do with our movement), is there something familiar about that sentence? Did it strike a bell deep in the corner of your mind where you have stored an unpleasantry? From personal experience, I can say that without exception, I have never met a man who did not behave as if his reason for being was more important than mine. No matter how supportive they were, when push came to shove, it was always my life that more easily sacrificed and compromised. My wishes and aspirations were a little less lofty. My gifts and talents a little less meaningful and worthy of praise. Nothing short of my winning a Nobel Prize, a Pulitzer and a humanitarian award would be acknowledged as sufficient for a life changing decision to go in my favor. Maybe even that wouldn’t be enough. When push comes to shove, where a man lives, what he does with his time, what career he pursues and what dreams he has will always come first. The only power women have in most relationships, ultimately, is the power to walk away from them. That is, if she wants to be judged a person in her own right.

This is strong language, reminiscent of the early days of the women’s movement. But this is how many of us feel. This is no longer about Hillary Clinton for President, although we wish she was our candidate. This is about the Democratic Party’s willingness to abuse an exceptional woman in order to promote a mediocre man.

  • Bugs Bunny

    Spot on.

  • A SLAP IN THE FACE

I happen to like McCain very much, and as a woman who was a fervent Hillary supporter even I know that at times Hillary is and can be a b**ch. John McCain is a straight talker, and saying things that are true even when they might be hurtful is an admirable quality, and necessary in a leader.

John McCain also once called his wife a c**t and a tr****pe; we must ask ourselves – well, given the circumstances (she was criticising his hair, and has a record of drug abuse) wasn’t this true as well?

Give John McCain a break already! He was a POW, as well as a prisoner of war and a war hero. He has the leadship edge!

    GO PUMA! GO MCCAIN!

  • Astra14

    BRAVO!!!!!

  • sleeplessinchicago

Go get him sister. It’s far worse than an exceptional woman against a mediocre man. I don’t care what your health policy is or who your SCOTUS nominees would be, if you’re not qualified to be commander in chief, nothing else matters. He’s not qualified for CIC. She is. Even my staunchest Republican friends — who are no friend of Hillary’s — acknowledge that. And they could live with her as president. They and I, a lifelong Democrat, fear for our country. Nobama! Country before party. Go McCain!

  • No Obamislamists

Me and my wife weren’t paying that much attention until news started breaking that Bill Clinton was a racist. That pushed us over the edge and we vowed that if Hillary lost we would never EVER support Baracka under any circumstances. I am voting for McCain and my wife is sitting it out for now, although she said if it was close in our state (CA) she would vote for McCain too.

Not only will Baracka losing be extremely satifiying but it will cost at least Dean and Pelosi their leadership positions.

  • Mark

Then there was this today :)

The former president, speaking in Denver, posed a hypothetical question in which he seemed to suggest that that the Democratic Party was making a mistake in choosing Obama as its presidential nominee.

He said: “Suppose you’re a voter, and you’ve got candidate X and candidate Y. Candidate X agrees with you on everything, but you don’t think that candidate can deliver on anything at all. Candidate Y you agree with on about half the issues, but he can deliver. Which candidate are you going to vote for?”

  • Entwife

    Medusa, I LOVE your statement:

“Using the argument about the Supreme Court judges and Roe v Wade to guilt-trip people into voting for Obama is the height of hypocrisy in a party that has used sexism and misogyny to undermine the very best candidate for women.”

    It is the retching truth!

  • roseeriter

    It’s Not about Hillary anymore.
Verbal abuse leaves deep deep scars. We may forgive, but one NEVER forgets the verbal abuse. NEVER.

And the Obamabots and rethug trolls who keep attacking Hillary and her supporters are the scum of people, forget political parties, these women haters also stab their mothers, grandmothers daughters.

  • vinnie

you know, I keep on hearing this so-called rant he went off on his wife…who’s the source? let me guess, an anonymous reporter? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not defending McCain, just want to know where this story came from.

  • wodiej

I’m just curious, what exactly has Hillary done or said that makes you think she can be a bitch?

I don’t care what John McCain has done, he had no business calling his own wife or any woman a cunt. That is a disgusting, vulgar word. Obama’s rapper friends call women bitches and ho’s so we know where he stands on this.

  • NO for O

Hillary must rise. If this is true, O has a serious problem.

Wayne Madsen, Jounalist with Online Journal was a contributing writer and published an article on June 9, 2008 stating the GOP sent a research team to Mombasa, Kenya and located a Certificate registering the birth of Barak Obama Jr., at a Maternity Hospital, to his father, a Kenyan Citizen and his mother, a U.S. Citizen.

  • wodiej

You’re damn right it’s not just about Hillary anymore. It’s obvious men today think no more of women than they did 50 years ago.

    Excellent post.

  • gotalife

Obama is toast and Biden is crying already.

Tonight starts the Hillary Clinton 12 campaign.

  • beverly leslie

Nice piece. I’m so sick of the media first portraying Hillary in a horrible light and now her supporters who refuse to vote for an inaccomplished idiot are portrayed as hysterical, racist, and crazy. All portrayed with the utmost glee. Well, we will be the ones who decide this election and guess what? We will be the ones celebrating in the end.

Now Hillary must do more to help the one because he can’t convince voter’s on his own. The media drumbeat is Hillary must do more. The little woman must help the incompetent man to achieve greatness he cannot achieve on his own merit. If this guy isn’t the biggest version of a loser ever to run for President, I don’t know who is.

And to think, people actually expect you to vote for this guy! What’s gone wrong obots? Is it his horribly run campaign? Is it his feeling of inevitability? Is it his vote on FISA? Or is it that Meeeeshellle? With Barky you get Meeeesheelll so, oh no, it aint’ gonna work for me. Is it because they are racists?

  • bmc

If John McCain has an ounce of brain in that hard noggin of his, he’ll choose a woman [Kay Bailey Hutchinson has been mentioned] as his VP. I’m not a Kay Bailey Hutchinson fan, necessarily; but she might be very good, actually. Carly Fiorina has also been floated. Whatever. The point is, McCain has an opportunity to shame Barack with a move like that.

  • Jack

Good, but I still think it’s about Hillary.

If Obama and his people were not such openly arrogant, dismissive jerks overly concerned with creating a monolithic message, they could have finessed this through.

Instead, the fought against a convention vote, a fundamental American principle. Now they want to pre-test the vote in the “hotels” hours before the roll call they agreed to. Why? Some worry Hillary could win, and maybe more probable that Hillary loses by a thinner margin than the Obama people have spun for the media.

They had control of the echo chamber media, but now start to lose it. There are still some dead enders who insist in an elitist tone of voice the PUMAs are small, and only recently concocted, and the biggest lie–they hurt Hillary. They help Hillary, 99% of Americans love a fighter.

  • ford

If you need a good laugh catch the on air brawls on MSNBC last night between Joe Scarborough and Keith Olbermann, and this am between David Shuster and Joe Scarborough.

These people are so bad they’re hysterical.

  • Jack

add–and if they know there is trouble in the hotels, they will change the rules at the convention.

Well considering Obama confessed to snorting coke alot, (cocaine and heroin prop up many nasty governments in South Amnerica as well as the Taliban in Afghanistan) I wouldn’t bring up Cindy who sought help. But since Cindy has the money I’m sure she let John have it when they got home. She is with him because she wants to be. Unlike Michelle who is using that eunuch Barky to get her claws (Barky’s term not mine) to get into the White House.

  • Shiloh

It is galling to see republicans enjoying our non-support of Obama, but what can we expect? I’m not going to change my mind about doing what I think is right in the long run for Hillary and the party just because some republicans happen to like it in the short run. They won’t be liking it come 2012. If I let republicans control my vote with their approval that would be little different from letting the Obama jackals scare me with their disapproval. I’m am keeping my sights beyond this election.

  • cdo

Obama’s beef with the Clinton’s is as manufactured as everything else about him. He had to, as a candidate, drag the Clinton’s through the mud in order to get where he wanted to go. Simple as that.
In doing so he has shown he will do anything to win. He has no loyalty to anything or anyone, nor does he acknowledge the efforts of those who have come before him.
His story of his childhood is as fictional as his commitment to any democratic ideals.
He is a mirage created in the minds of hipster wannabes…the type who discover “new” bands from compilation discs at Starbucks.
He is a doing an imitation of a leader. And not a very good imitation at that. He poses, and includes catch phrases in his speeches. He has nice graphics.
What he does not have is a record, He has no substance, no commitment, and no ideas because ideas come from a basis of experience.
If McCain is really smart he will pick a moderate VP. If he goes with Colin Powell, McCain’s landslide victory will be assured before you turn the calendar page on September.
Obama is going to lose, the only question is by how much.

  • A SLAP IN THE FACE

Look I was just making a point OK? Get a grip! People constantly try to say McCain is anti-woman, and they try to make Hillary supporters who support McCain feel guilty about it by citing the Hillary and Cindy comments and by looking at his record. Well they can kiss my a**!

I don’t give a HOOT whether McCain is pro-life or if he opposes fair wage rules for women (paying women the same as men is just affirmative action, we are NOT like blacks, and don’t need it thank you very much).

Even if McCain’s record on women’s rights isn’t the same as a Democrat’s, he has something no other Democrat has – CHARACTER AND LEADERSHIP! Did John McCain get a fair wage when he was a POW? Did John McCain have a “choice” when he was a POW?

As to Hillary NOT being a B**CH, well wait until tonight. It breaks my heart, but I feel like HILLARY is going to be a SLAP IN THE FACE TONIGHT unless she endorses JOHN MCCAIN, POW!

If you want to truly honor the 88th anniversary of a woman’s right to vote, do it my voting for someone who KNOWS FIRSTHAND what it means to not be allowed to vote – while being a POW. Do it by voting for McCain!

    GO PUMA, GO MCCAIN!

it’s about Democracy being trashed to put forth an inferior empty suit candidate over a superior more experienced one.

barack is first a male, let us not ever forget that. it is still a man’s world. the men in power put pelosi where she is. it’s a token move, she is still bought and owned by the very samer same cabal. she will always do their bidding. and we will never really know who the puppet masters are.

Hillary Clinton could not be bought or controlled by the thugs now vying for power at the level of the highest office in the land… she is the true agent of change here. hopey-changey guy obama is about words only. speeches and bull-sh$t. in reality, he will have very little say about how things will be run. let us make no mistake about that. it’s a global one world order thingy, and Hillary is not, and has never been, up for that doo-doo. with this lady, her country is first. as it is with John McCain. mr george soros and his extremely moneyed cabal will most certainly find a way to rig the GE, just as they have this primary.

obama will never have the real votes he needs to pull of election to POTUS. it’s a corrupt and deeply covert group that is running the show. and it is, indeed, a sci-fi-ish blockbuster.

This is an excellent piece and time someone starts getting it right out there in the democratic party. This is absolutely not about Hillary. It is about a damaged party who broke its promise to the people it is supposed to support. The 2008 democratic primary has showed this country it is time for a new 3rd party.
I am not a bitter old anything or feminist, I am one of those Blue Collar workers Donna B. spoke of. As I recall she stated the democratic no longer has to rely on my vote. OK Donna, no problem. But fool, you do realize there is a candidate that is relying on my vote and those like me? And Donna thanks for making me realize my vote will count more then ever in this election.
While women have ABSOLUTELY every single right to be outraged over what has happen to Hillary the media needs to start going into middle America and speaking with the men and women who are wearing hard hats, steel toed work boots and working the grave yard shifts and ask those people what they think of the democratic party and if they feel included and taken care of. There are a lot more of them out there then the internet PUMAs. And those are the people who will be giving this election to McCain.
And is it just me or does Hillary supporting Barrack Obama seem like those blank faced wives who stand by their political husbands after they were caught cheating (i.e. the NY and NJ governors come to mind off the top of my head). Come to think of it this poor women has done this before.

Pretty ironic that you guys cry sexism and misogyny and then you’ll vote out of spite for the guy who wants to take away your right to choose….just saying.

I appreciate anyone who stands up for their beliefs even when they differ from mine. But be careful don’t shoot yourselves in the foot. You may very well succeed in disrupting Obama’s campaign and being the difference in a victory for McCain. But what exactly will you be accomplishing? You don’t think the democratic base will remember when it comes time to vote for Hillary in 2012? You don’t think there’ll be some resentment from the base towards Hillary and the PUMA’S who gave us another 4 years of NeoCon leadership and possibly another pro-life judge on the supreme court and who knows how many more wars and how much more damage to the economy? Is it really worth it? Is it constructive to your cause. Think about it. I’m not telling you you’re wrong. Just that your actions can have an impact and can lead to consequences in this country.

Amen to that! Condi would be a much better choice! She is from Alabama, plays the piano, and is a foreign policy genius. Someday there will be statues dedicated to her in Iraq and Afghanistan!

Condi’s only liability is that she looks a little bit like Dr. Zhira from Planet of the Apes, and there are rumors that she is a les**an. I hear she also lives in a Washington DC motel.

But she would add a TON OF EXPERIENCE, and would win the blacks over.

    GO PUMA!
    Condi/McCain 08!

  • hootnannie

Hillary will be blamed for Obama’s upcoming landslide defeat, no matter what she has said or done or will say or do in the next two months. The Obamaniac MSM has been blaming her all along for not “getting out of the way” soon enough, and it will look like a pity-party mosh pit the morning after the GE. Then, after they’re tired of verbally beating her up, they’ll get down to the dirty wallow of racism accusation and declare the nation in the grips of apartheid and total Klan mentality. I just wonder what the inevitable hangover will bring. Bobo will be gone back to the Senate to serve out his sole term and then will limp back to Chicago to await further orders from the gang at city hall. The MSM will probably try hard to never speak of him again, even when Hillary runs again in ’12.

It has never been about Hillary too me, it was always about the best qualified Democrate and it turned out to be her. As a person that knew BO, I knew initially I could not support him because of his lack of experience and the thugs in his campaign. I read every one’s position papers and said that Hillary was the true One.
After 8 years of an inexperience POTUS, I will not take another chance and support another GWB so for me it is McCain. I do not support alot of his positions especially on health care, but with a democratic congress hopefylly something will get done.

  • ziggy

Colin Powell stabbed Bush in the back?

Colin Powell took a hit for Bush, after Bush & Company lied to him, and withheld information from him, and used his good reputation to gain support for Bush’s crackbrained scheme to invade a country they knew posed no threat to us.

Colin Powell has more personal integrity in his little finger than Bush & the rest of his chicken-hawk Company combined.

  • ford

    Hoot…

That reminds me …. has the media ASKED about why no medical records? Funny isn’t it that we got a full report about Biden? A full report about McCain? You don’t have to be old to be sick or diseased or suffering from the effects of long term illness or abuse ….

  • marc

As of right now you can’t vote for hillary…so do us all a favor and stay home on election day. This whole site is based upon spite and sour grapes and is doing a disservice to the country.

Vote on the issues. If the issues tell you to vote for McCain then go for it. Than ask yourself why you were ever a Hillary supporter in the first place.

Oh and don’t tell me to grow up. I’m not the one wasting my time being a spiteful baby. You don’t hear me still crying about Kerry and Gore’s losses do you?

Every time the goons in the media and the rabble that support Obama lashed out at Hillary I felt like it was an attack on my judgment for supporting her.

Hold on! Since the polls are tanking for Obama, does this mean that the house gaffe has actually backfired on Obama? Man, the elitism displayed by the Obama camp is stunning. The best part is that they don’t understand why it’s hurting them. They really do NOT get it. Just like the bitter comment, they think elitism is about money. It’s an invisible shovel that Obama and the MSM carry around, yet do not realise that the hole they are digging is very real. I love it!

Just die already. I’m so sick of Obama and the trolls that come here. You are spouting RIGHT WING TALKING POINTS about the only democratic two term president in forty years. So just hold your breath and turn blue. You will never get anyone to vote for Barky here and at best we will stay home and at worst we’ll vote for McCain who drives the right wing whackos even more nutso.

  • C.S.

McCain’s actions as a POW are not relevant if Obama’s actions traveling to nations like Pakistan aren’t relevant. The most obvious and glaring mistake is not holding all three candidates (yes, Senator Clinton is a candidate) to the same standards.

Barack Obama is bi-racial and his black half equals about 10-15% of the population. Even as a male he represents less than half of the total population. Senator Clinton represents more than half of the population but you wouldn’t know it by the way she, and her supporters, are treated. But watch out, you’ve awakened a sleeping pack of PUMAs and if Senator Clinton does decide to use her superpowers….you minority males are going to be in big trouble.

  • ugo

  • A SLAP IN THE FACE

While Hillary Clinton was at Woodstock getting high and rolling in the mud like a filthy pig, John McCain was defending his country against COMMUNISM over the skies of Viet-Nam.

While Hillary Clinton was busy being sleazy in Arkansas (Whitewater), John McCain was fighting against corruption in the Senate (ethics reformer).

While Hillary Clinton was rubbing stains out of the White House Carpet, John McCain was standing up to the forces of intolerance within the Republican Party.

When it comes to national service, experience, and DUTY, HONOR, AND COUNTRY – I hate to burst your bubble – but McCain is simply better than Hillary. I like Hillary better than the anti-christ Obama, but when it comes to McCain he is far and away the best choice of all! Hillary might be a tough politician, but she wouldn’t last one minute in a bamboo cage (would any woman?) I’m sorry, but McCain would have destroyed Hillary had Obambi not stolen the Demoncrap nomination. Better for Hillary to wait her turn, in 2016 – after McCain’s two terms.

I’m by NO means thrilled by OB or his campaign! I’m
just not comfortable with those who, like me, want
Hillary, jumping to McCain. What about the issues?
He voted against pay equity for women. That’s one.
What is he standing for? We all must think very care-
fully beyond the moment, beyond disappointment and
anger. Why? Because it is about our sons, daughters, sisters and all who will be affected by the policies
that could be born of a McCain administration.
There are some who are looking for a protest vote.
Some say they’ll vote for Mckinney or Nader to
vote against OB. Just think it thru.
I’m going to listen to Hillary tonight because she
needs our support. You know NO MATTER what she says,
she will be criticized. So, hopefully, the ratings
will zoom for her and undoubtedly, flatten some-
what for him. Send Hillary positive energy!

Powell is emphatically NOT supporting 0bama. Pull your head up to its upright and locked position. He’s got integrity and is not the lazy ass that 0bama is. I expect McCain to select someone like a Bloomberg to give him the economic creds he needs. The downside of that is it would be HRC versus a really well funded Mike Bloomberg.

Its still a sexist campaign. The “too many houses” issue is an attack against Cindy McCain, after all, those are her houses. Is Cindy out of touch on the economy? Maybe, but you might want to give her some credit considering she just got back from Rwanda and is in Georgia right now helping refugees, like she’s done all her life.

  • Firefly

Thanks so much for this great post, medusa! Nail on the head!

And thanks for reminding me of riverdaughter’s piece.

Marc this is about the future, not the past. Its about fairness and democracy. Hillary is not Bill. She is the best choice and has proven all her life her commitment to the causes of the poor.

Oblahblah is all about empty rhetoric he says something today and another tomorrow. He should not be trusted. The difference between Barry Soetoro (Obama) and Hillary is simple she has experience and loves our country sincerely he has no experience whatsoever and has proven he is a liar and has shown contempt for our country.

  • http://firefox AnnieCarmel

Yep, they’re trying to hang an untreated addict on us again. Not gonna happen.

  • Steve1

Raven Nice try…But you think of your country. When you enter that ballot booth.

  • Peggy Sue

Thank you for the essay, Medusa. I agree with your take. Truth is, women’s issues are always considered “petty and silly and inconsequential.” If a woman complains about ill-treatment, she’s often told to stop whining or playing the victim or being a royal bitch.

The most appalling thing to me during this on-going campaign is that my party, the Dems, turned a blind eye to what has been going on within their own ranks. And the senior leadership, the likes of Dean and Pelosi and Reid, claim they had no knowledge of sexism or sexist remarks within the party during the primary. Either they are deaf, completely insensitive or absolute liars.

I vote the latter. And there’s no excuse, no apology, no remedy now.

For months I’ve listened to the Obama mantra: We can win without you. We don’t need you. This is the “New Party,” and you’re irrelevant.

All I can say? Good luck with that.

You kicked a woman to the curb, one who could have brought the White House in for the Democratic Party. Instead you chose the most inexperienced, unqualified candidate since before I was born.

But then the Dems seem to have a gift for losing. The one, two-term Democratic President since FDR, Bill Clinton, is being put on a five second delay tomorrow night. This is the way the Dems treat a former President.

This is a GD trainwreck in the making!

  • beverly leslie

No babyface, you and your ilk will be giving us another 4 years of Republicans. Quit blaming everyone else for your mistakes. How many times could we say “he cannot win”? How many times did Hillary try to tell you the truth and you just wanted to tar and feather her for the truth. “women will come out to vote for me, and you need women to win” How many times you idiot? Now you want to lay the blame at someone else’s feet? You are so evolved, how wonderful!

Barky’s polling numbers always showed his base of supporters was week for a general election, his past of lies was always out there, but you just wanted to listen to the media tell you how great he was and hide his past and only present poll numbers that were favorable. You never wanted to hear the truth, you just wanted to feel good. Jolly, joy I hope you feel real good come Nov. because you will have to look in the mirror and understand your evolution has much to be desired.

  • Liz B

I hope when Bill Clinton gives his speech , he puts Obama to shame ,I have heard today that the roll call count may not take place on the floor or it will be stopped after New York is called for, I have been watching this Convention It seem to have no direction or solid message, and this shows what happens when you treat people and there votes as though they didn’t matter you get a broken Convention and a Party Divided. ( To the Hillary Clinton Supporters I Thank You )

  • HillGirl

If he wants Hillary supporters, he needs to cut it out.

  • Shiloh

It’s just wrong to say it’s not about Hillary. It “is” about everything. It has long been said that when one election is over, the next one begins. Well this is the year they first overlapped. We are not just talking about 08 here. 08 and 2012 have merged. And Hillary is most certainly a part of it because she will be the beneficiary. Four years of McCain in lieu of four years of Obama and in exchange for a deferred eight years of Hillary is not a bad deal. She knows it. All of her behavior is consistent with it as a strategy. And I believe she wants us to see it without being told. Some will and some won’t.

  • d2d

William – well said and thank you for sharing your insight regarding PUMA.

It has amazed me how many of our younger sisters fell for Barry Soetoro as though he were a rock star.

These same younger sisters have told me that I should get over the stolen election and get on board with that medicine man.

Their chutzpah is amazing. I had one sister tell me that Roe v Wade would be overturned if McCain were elected.

I asked her what she’d done to protect this right. I never saw her at the Mall protesting. I don’t recall seeing her in front of abortion clinics or Planned Parenthoods when Operation Rescue was in full throttle. I never witnessed any of her writings slamming Ds who voted for the current SCOTUS Justices. C’mon, give me a break.

Our younger sisters take all the rights they have, which our mothers and their mothers fought for.

They’d rather take their precious vote and use it to elect a man who lacks ANY AND ALL qualifications to lead the USA. EVER!!!

So, when these younger sisters try to shame me into voting for Soetoro b/c R v W will be overturned, I remind them of the current conservative majority on the court already, thanks to the Ds, and then tell them it’s their turn to fight for it. I’m done!

PARTIAL POST AT MYDD. NOW THEY WANT HILLARY TO HELP.

Please make sure the Republicans know this by the end of your speech. We’re slightly ahead with one hand tied behind our back. Can those idiots survive the onslaught of a united Democratic Party?

Senator Clinton, I have faith in you. I did not want you to be our nominee, but I never questioned your anger, your rage, and yes your sadness at what President Bush, Bill Frist, and Tom Delay have done to our country. I trust in you to deliver the message that our time has come again, and that they are on the way out.

Be righteous! Fight for us! The war isn’t over. This war is never over. We need you at the vanguard. Blaze the trail, mark the way! Draw a contrast so stark that anyone who believes, as you believe, that government exists to help the least of these, those that go unseen, invisible to the lucky ones. That charge is still yours to keep. The work is never done, and you are perfectly positioned to do it!

The media is fixated on drama and division. All they can talk about is how we are disunited. Use this opportunity! They have handed you the loudest megaphone in the world, for the moment. Use it! Make it simple! Either we are for healthcare for everyone or we are not. Either we are for ending the war in Iraq or we are not. Either we are for turning our schools into palaces, or we are not!

Senator Clinton, I am no one. I am a mayfly. I matter not at all. I am but a pebble that hopes to be caught up in a landslide. Please, give us the shout that brings the whole thing down on their heads! Be our harbinger.

“Pretty ironic that you guys cry sexism and misogyny and then you’ll vote out of spite for the guy who wants to take away your right to choose….just saying.”

LOL allow me to jump in may I,

one, I’m independent, after years of working in far left [yes Marxist background] so my lens on this entire election a bit different from most here, my focus has been fighting poverty [feminization of poverty, human right abuses, sweat shops, etc] and women and children’s rights both domestic and internationally.

I am not crazy about McCain and the right on a lot of issues, especially economic and on women’s issues BUT I am VERY WELL AWARE OF THE HYPOCRISY IN THE LEFT when it comes to women’s rights [and I could write a BOOK on the BETRAYALS TO WOMEN IN THE FAR LEFT] so,

this whole using the ‘abortion’ issue is absurd really, when you consider how many in the left [neo-liberal MALES] have voted to support or to hinder, victims of trafficking [sex slavery] from being able to pursue JUSTICE, thats just ONE example there is huge controversy over this now, and it was,

mind you, President Bush, who pushed for that anti-trafficking bill. And I haven’t forgotten the ACLU’s representation [hell they practically tripped over themselves] on the LDS RAPE SEX CULT case…or other cases ‘protecting pedophiles] by Dem MALES,

so, this idea of a monopoly on women’s rights in the Democratic Party and the evil Right or Republicans is pure bullshit,

there is enough patriarchy to go around on BOTH ENDS, so NO Marc,

the Dems do not hold some special trophy on women’s rights–besides, sure, a lot of MEN support abortion,

but those same MEN aren’t so keen on supporting STRICTER CHILD SUPPORT RULINGS OR

TAXES TO PAY FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAMS, ANTI-DISCRIMINATIONS PROGRAMS, or HARSHER PENALTIES FOR RAPISTS–

BOTH IN THE RIGHT AND LEFT,

two examples, Dunbar Village [Al Sharpton] and the New Jersey Four–

currently ongoing–have yet to hear any statements in protest by MALES in the left [Obama]…

but I do know this…you hold up abortion, my question to you is,

Why is there a speaker at the DNC, the interfaith, that has in her own words,

SUPPORTS SHARIA LAW, SUPPORTS THE TALIBAN RESTRICTIONS ON WOMEN WHO LIVE IN HELL BTW AND THE SUICIDE RATE AMONG LITTLE GIRLS HIGHEST IN THE WORLD BECAUSE THE VIOLENCE AND FORCED MARRIAGES [RAPE OF CHILDREN] see RAWA–

and Mattson, the speaker–IN HER OWN WORDS, SUPPORTS BOTH,

and you want me to be concerned over ABORTION! YOU–A MAN?

Tell you what Marc–amazing how the Left UNIONS fight for Viagra in the insurance–and yet, insurance [unions fought for now] still refuse to cover BIRTH CONTROL…

cuzz you know old men at 90 by golly got that entitlement to F ** according to union leftie men but hey,

    birth control–your problem woman…

thats just ONE example–I can give you numerous…

SURE–leftie men are GREAT at supporting ABORTION–hey gets them off the hook–

tell you what, try GOV PAID BIRTH CONTROL FOR ALL WOMEN, THEN, THEN YOU CAN PLAY THE ABORTION CARD, A RIGHT BTW THAT WOMEN FOUGHT FOR–I DON’T RECALL BENEVOLENT MASTA BROTHER GIVING WOMEN A DAMN THING–

    BUT DO THAT–UNTIL THEN,

YOU KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH THE ABORTION CARD…besides, I KNOW how easy it is, for lefties to promise women and then, boom,

take it away, like ole Ortega did with abortion–one day it was revolutionary women’s rights, the next it was shut up baby, spread and spit the babies out including if you’ve been raped…

so, this ole Radical Leftie here, knows better.

Well put Medusa, my feelings exactly. This isn’t about Hillary anymore, unfortunately. Hillary is my hero, I admire her greatly, but what is at stake here is greater than her candidacy.

The integrity of democratic process has been sacrificed – corrupted – in order to ensure that Hillary would not be the Democratic nominee and in the process, decency and respect towards all women has been thrown out the door. And to top it off, after all the misogyny, sexism, corruption, and BS we were subjected to, they expect us to jump on board and cheer for a man whom everyone knows is ill-prepared and unqualified to be president.

If women allow this to happen without taking stand and forcing the DNC (and the MSM) to come clean about its dirty hands, then women can expect this to happen over and over again, and we can expect it in every frame of our lives, from our homes, to our schools, to our places of employment, to the courts. The mistreatment and denigration of women in this primary will have long lasting repercussions for women unless we take a stand.

If we can deny the DNC the benefit of their corruption and mistreatment, then and only then can women be a force that will be treated with respect in the future.

“Truth is, women’s issues are always considered “petty and silly and inconsequential.” If a woman complains about ill-treatment, she’s often told to stop whining or playing the victim or being a royal bitch.”
    Comment by Peggy Sue

Peggy Sue, next to John McCain’s suffering as a POW (from which he STILL hasn’t regained the full use of his arms) many of the woman’s “struggles” that you mention ARE petty and inconsequential.

For instance, consider a woman’s right to choose. Poor widdle women, they don’t want to be inconvenienced by a living human being, so rather than accept motherhood they would rather ABORT! Well John McCain says that dog won’t hunt! Time for the girls to bight their tongue, and soldier on! Hopefully John McCain will overturn Roe v Wade, and give the silly and selfish women who have murdered 40 million babies their just desserts. This might not be a popular message, but John McCain has been adamant about his unwavering commitment to ending this modern genocide.

Just as McCain won’t lose a war for an election, he won’t say something you want to hear to just get your vote. And that’s why he has earned mine!

Exactly — women were abused by Obama.

But then it has been speculated that Obama probably learned all about abuse from his natural father & his step father.

Obama’s father abused his wives in Kenya — he was a drunken bum. Yet who does Barky write about — his abusive, chauvinistic pig father.

I’ve said all along that when Obama and his bots insult and abuse Hillary Clinton — they are abusing ALL women and I take their insults personally.

Obama has no business being CiC — and no business being President over population — the majority of whom he HATES, despises and disrespects.

The Change that Obama wants — is not part of the American value system.

The economy is going to hell in a handbag, we’re facing 4 more years of the same republican economic and foreign policies that put us here, and all you’re worried about is how that will position Hillary Clinton for a 2012 try for the White House?

I wonder if most Americans will think McCain was a good deal 4 years from now? They’ll probably be thinking about two things then: national bankruptcy and the body count.

I very much doubt that Hillary Clinton’s primary concern right now is the 2012 election.

I’ve been flying around the MyDD site for several weeks. They’ve spent most of their time trashing Hillary Clinton. Now, they have the unmitigated gall to insist on her help.

    What’s wrong with this picture????

HRC is going to do what she needs to do politically. I trust she’s far better at this stuff than I am. But the absolute hypocrisy on these pro-Obama sites is sickening.

    Why?

They’re worried and wringing their hands. The poll numbers are the poll numbers and the mood has shifted in the electorate. We know it; they know it.

I trust Hillary will do what she needs to do as a loyal Democrat with a Senate seat to consider and a future political life to protect.

And as an ordinary voter, I will do what I must: vote against Obama.

  • DeaninMI

I will never vote for Obama, and the DNC needs a good house cleaning – the smug assholes — at the top of the list Donna Brazile and Howard Dean. Nancy Pelosi is going down her own slippery slope with the Catholics. She needs to resign immediately for misrepresenting an entire Church doctrine.

  • cathnealon

To Roland Martin and Errol Louis
Why do African American men who probably have been subject to hate speech in their lifetimes use a phrase like “political brats” in describing Hillary supporters. Do these men not know that infantilizing women and treating them like children was and is a very powerful means of controlling them by those in power? The word “brats” usually refers to children so this same man who has come out against Imus and Michael Richards for their language against African Americans can do the same thing to women and that’s okay? Is he going to get fired like Imus? You see that’s where these guys and BO is coming from, they see women as inconsequential, bratty, petulant and not worth a freaking thing–well, they’ll find out what we’re worth in November when we say NO to the most inexperienced, incompetent Democratic nominee who fixed the caucuses, who used the race card and who demeaned Senator Clinton with sexist gestures and words. What a fabulous piece, Medusa!! The frustrating thing is very few people in any field get this – not the news media, not the elected officials including the women.

I listened to Senator Barbara Boxer being interviewed today and even SHE thinks this is about Hillary’s supporters disappointment in “losing” the election.

Does this mean she didn’t know what we know about the DNC and the party leadership choosing the nominee and making it happen for him? Does that mean she approves of the fraudulent caucuses that stole this election from the best qualified candidate with the covert help and blessing of the DNC and its leaders?

Unfortunately, men in politics and the media have looked to women for approval or disapproval of their sexism. When women like Clair McCaskill, Nancy Pelosi, Caroline Kennedy, Andrea Mitchell, Linda Douglas, give their stamp of approval, say nothing and look the other way, or even join in on the misogyny, men are given a signal that this kind of berating is acceptable.

Just being a woman does not mean women are the best judge of this dispicable behavior. These women made it in a man’s world. That is very different from working class women or women in corporate America. I’m not even sure Hillary understood this until now.

  • DeaninMI

My vote was taken from the person I voted for, and given to another candidate of the same party.

Democracy is the only issue I’ll be voting on in this election, since it trumps all others. Unfortunately, a vote for Obama would be a disservice to democracy, and our country.

I don’t know Techdude, I don’t know if he is responsible for this story, I don’t know if McCain ever uttered those words, I don’t know who you are and I don’t care. What I do know is the following: Obama ran the most sexist campaign I have ever seen and has allowed things to be said in his name without ever repudiating the words or the speakers. I also know the DNC is corrupt and has managed to divide the party in a way that has never happened and that’s saying a lot about Pelosi, Dean, Brazil and Reid. I was told, by Donna Brazil to stay home so I am assuming they don’t want my vote. I am also assuming you don’t care enough about your candidate to want him to win badly enough that you are willing to treat anyone who disagrees with disrespect. That not only tells me more than enough about your character, but it also reflects the attitude of your candidate. I could not watch his wife speak last night because I know what she said about supporting Hillary since I heard it from her own mouth. I heard Obama say he didn’t think his supporters would vote for Hillary, but her’s would vote for him. Well, SUPRISE. He was wrong about that just as he was wrong about FISA, Cheney’s energy plan, faith based initiatives. So why don’t you go crawl back under the rock you came out of and stop trying others how to vote? You have no credibility and neither does Obama.

Then saying that it had nothing to do about the present race! Oh, Bill…how you do talk! I just love him, don’t you?

Hillary and John McCain have EXPERIENCE. All Obama has is a speech. He isn’t even a citizen, was born in Kenya, and is determined to surrendor in Iraq. Obama is also a racist, a druggie, and an effete professor from the Ivy League who cares more about Arugula than the common man. He refuses to drill here and now, and HE IS THE REASON gas is so expensive. He also is a CLELBRITY like Brittany and Paris Hilton, but I guess that is why gays like him so much. Look, I would never belittle John McCain’s POW experience. But please, don’t belittle a woman’s experience: rape, spousal abuse, sexual harrassment. No, we’re not sitting in a foreign country being abused emotionally or physically by wartime enemies. Too often, our enemies are those who claim to love us, admire us, work with us. This “my pain is greater than your pain” stand doesn’t work on any level. Rape happens. Incest happens. And the sort of disrespect and humiliation woman can face in their lives, on the job is symptomatic of a much deeper problem.

Is it the greatest pain of all, bigger and badder than spending time in a cell? I wouldn’t know. I’ve never been a POW. But I am a woman. And I’ve seen the effects incest can have. So please, don’t tell me this is petty. And if you feel a child should be forced to have a child on your moral say-so, then I feel sorry for you.

    Because you have no heart.

But I will not be blackmailed by the suggestion that John McCain will reverse Roe vs Wade. Sometimes, you have to weigh the moral questions and make a decision, for better or worse.

I’ve done that with a clear conscious.

Obama is the most gay-friendly of any of the major party candidates running. Both he and Hillary are against gay marriage, but they both are for ENDA, the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”, they are for Hate Crimes Legislation, both are for gay adoption. They are both against the Defense of Marriage Act; Hillary wanted to repeal part of the act that dealt with federal workers while Obama is for a full repeal of it so myself and my husband’s marriage out here in CA can be recognized across the country. Obama has done a lot for the gay community while a Senator and in the Illinois State Legislature. Hillary has been an ardent supporter of the LGBT community.

McCain’s stances and policies are against the LBGT community. He’s against gay marriage, he’s against civil unions, gay adoption, against federal hate crime legislation, for DOMA and for “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” For that reason alone, I could not vote for him.

Regarding union workers, McCain’s economic policies ape Bush’s, which have been anti-union and pro-corporation. Obama’s have mimicked President Clinton’s from the 90′s.

To me, it’s a very clear choice: Obama.

Any language used to get women “to know their place” is offensive, no matter what the circumstance. If this story about McCain is true, I think that he was way out of line and I don’t care if she made a comment about his hair. If he wanted to publicly berate her, he should have made a comment about her hair.

As far as Hillary being called a b**ch, that is an epithet frequently used by men towards women who are merely trying their best to get something done. The same behavior in a man is frequently praised as evidence that he is dedicated to achieving results.

Offensive language directed towards any group is a means of expressing aggression and should not be tolerated.

  • Mr. X

Barack is in line with what Hillary was fighting for and for what she stands for.

Like FISA? public financing? Universal health care that doesn’t cover everyone? Infanticide? being against the war before being for it before being against it and NEVER having made a decision on the Iraq war in the first place because he was never in the Senate?

Or perhaps it’s the way he lies about Selma, about not being able to disown Rev. Wright because he’s like an uncle, about equating Bill Clinton’s administration to that of Bush, of praising Reagan.

Or maybe it’s Obama’s judgement like when he left a building used for low income housing in his district go without heat for 5 weeks in the middle of winter and when asked why he didn’t do anything, he gave the Bush response “I didn’t know they needed help.” Or maybe the sound judgement of buying a house with the help of a 17 year longtime friend who was under investigation of political fixing. Maybe choosing to associate and kick off his political career with an urepenting terrorist are the kinds of values you speak of.

I could go on and on showing examples like this. I know Hillary does not share these values and personal attributes. These are character flaws I would wish on no one. And you need to seek mental medical help if you think Obama is better than McCain. BTW, how about being FOR Obama instead of AGAINST McCain. Let’s see some real support for a change instead of hatred, scare tactics and blackmail.

Not that I relish the idea of your reasonable expectations being thrown to the curb, only that people like yourself should wake up and realize what you are really voting for.

In Denver today, there were demonstrators, calling for people to register as Democrats, in order to, fight to “TAKE OUR PARTY BACK”!
We all have alot to think about!

I’m gay, and I second the not voting for a Repugnican thing. BUT…..you have to consider that McCain and Obama are not the only two people who are running for POTUS.

Hillary stands for democratic ideals such as not giving retroactive immunity to telecom companies who have violated the law. Obama sided with McCain (and Bush)on that one. So your premise that “Barack is in line with what Hillary was fighting for” is flawed in the extreme.

By all means, vote your conscience. That’s what I’m going to do.

This is a very well written article. I was just saying to my mother that now it has become more personal. If they can treat Hillary this way, they will treat all women this way. If we allow them to do it, then we have no right to complain.

I have a hard time understanding why women would think that this is ok unless they have been taught that their opinions, self worth and pride in being a woman mean nothing. Why do we have to be ashamed of being woman. Why should we expect less then any man. Why are we the ones always portrayed as the whinners? We are easiest targets out there and it seems like no one cares that we are being humiliated.
Exploitation of Hillary? No! Standing up for what is right and the rights of all women? YES!

No one has ever hurt my husband as much as I have either. No one possibly could because we are married. Are you really going to set yourself up as the moral arbiter of the world?
Senator Obama’s conduct is in an entirely separate category. As members of the Senate and fellow democrats I think we all expected a certain amount of civility. And as voters his conduct was more an insult to us than to Senator Clinton.

Hillary Clinton was the key the White House for the Democratic Party. The Dems had the edge this year because of the abysmal record of George Bush. But the Democratic party in their incomprehensible wisdom decided to run an inexperienced and totally unqualified candidate to run against the the Republicans in November.

McCain will clean Obama’s clock. And maybe then, only then will the Dems wake up and stop endorsing the unelectable. This will be a third push in a row–a consistent, losing record.

Let’s be real again. Hillary is a remarkable woman and I have scolded her a few times on this blog concerning her love for her party more than her country. The people here don’t give a hoot rather Mccain is using us to win- Hey- I hope he does with my “Protest” vote.! Obama is a phoney- everybody that has been on this remarkable blog knows the iniquities, the thug harrassments- the shooing off his shoulders arrogance- the messiah ego and all his secret muslim ties. So why be a two face and vote for him? He is bad for our country.I can say- I blogged enough these last two years to be part of the awaking rumors- and I am happy that I did blog these type of information- Look where it landed- right up the american people’s nostrils and brains- Well….you can smell something wrong, right? Then let’s do something about it. Let’s kiss our gal, goodbye and wish her the best in 2012, for sure I am planning to vote for her, and let the wonderful PUMA, JUSTSAYNODEAL, IOWNMYVOTE, SAVAGEPOLITICs,CLINTOMCCAIN and all the other Judeo-Christians fight for our country. This is not about black or white- this is about protecting our beautiful land, America!!! Maybe- some miracle will happen in the convention- nothing is impossible when it comes to faith! IMPORTANT!

Phillip Berg, the man that filed the court papers regarding *61 not being a natural born citizen says he has within the last hour received confirmation that *61 was indeed adopted by Lolo Soetoro and was an Indonesian citizen. He also has confirmation, *61 used the Indonesian passport to go to Pakistan in 1981.

There is no record he revoked that citizenship and swore oath to this country.

Says he wants us to get ahold of any delgates to make *61 face this and step down ASAP before he is nominated.

Says also believes (although he has yet to receive full disclosure of all case law…is working on it) he may not even be eligible to be a US Senator.

    Says he is 99.99% sure.

He says Repubs have this info but probably will not do anything until he is nominated.

    You disgusting Republican turd.

You are not running a war hero. Kerry was and is a war hero – despite the lies you can not take his purple hearts away. McBush was a POW songbird, because he disobeyed orders as a result got shot down and caught. As for “not leaving his fellow troops” he put them in that position in the first place.

Hillary has a far better record of achievement for the American people than McCain. In fact name a McCain achievment (other than being a “maverick”) that Republicans are proud of. Even Obama has a better record than McCain.

Fox hypes up PUMA, McCain has problems with the Christian Right that makes PUMA look like a pet cat.

As for ordinairy Americans, average wages are down. Bills are up. Your Party has left thousands homeless and jobless. Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac face collapse. Our Country is in an illegal war, with hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead, over 4000 of our Soldiers dead. Our infrastructure is in total disrepair (resulting in bridges actually collapsing).

Our pensioners face the privatization of Social Security.

Our healthcare system is a disgrace.

We are hated abroad by Countries that are our allies.

Republicans do not deserve another term – they deserve prosecution.

John McCain does not even deserve to clean the shoes of Hillary.

  • dottie

I hadn’t already been a feminist for the past 40 years, this whole primary debacle would be my conversion. Some of us are willing to forego our allegiance to the party because IT NO LONGER REPRESENTS US AND OUR VALUES

It never was about Senator Clinton.

Even if I wish it was it cannot be so. The mirror that is senator Clinton has exposed the corrupt underbelly of the the Denocratic Party. In her loss there is knowledge to be gained.

How many people had any idea that the power struggles between the titans of ego, would spill into the puc=blic domain for all to bear witness to.

The civil war term for it is “fix me”.

In this selfless act much has been paid forward. It not of resination I speak, but of a renewed determination to flush these bastards down the tube of history.

These humans where so busy fighting for power, they neglected to fight for all of us. Hillary exposed this at considerable cost to herself. For that I am greatful to her. This was never about Hillary. Long before Hillary announced I recall how circumpect President Clinton was about her running. They both knew in 2003 what the gig was and corrupt the party was.

    Remember, Congress makes the laws.
The key is to get that super majority in Senate.
So, I believe that McCain is not going to make earth shattering changes in those social issues like RvW and gay issues & marijuana laws.
If our Congress is smart and progressive, the Pres won’t be able to fight back against the super majority.
I am making lists of down ticket house and senate and governor people that supported Hillary and sending them money and will work for them this fall.

Just stop it already you proved yesterday with your comments you were never a PUMA. You weren’t even familiar with how this blog is run and how it’s been run since the primaries. Then you acted shocked to find out there are some Republicans that post here. Links to any Republican sites.

Why should we not use those links when they’re using video to back up their claims? When their claims are truthful? So please quit making a fool of yourself and pretending you were ever a PUMA.

I don’t doubt(well yes I do) that maybe you were a Hillary supporter that got some fantasy in your head she was going to be the VP. When she herself told US from DAY ONE she was not even being considered. When she herself told US FROM DAY ONE she was not being vetted. When she herself told US FROM DAY ONE that she would not be his VP.

It is not ours nor Hillary’s responsibility that you got that twisted fantasy in your head. That now she is not his VP you’ve decided you need to take revenge on the PUMA’S.

SO PLEASE! Come back to reality. It’s not all about you, and you would have known she wasn’t going to be his VP if you’d have paid ANY ATTENTION to what she said FROM THE BEGINNING.

  • Ferdberfle

God you’re a dolt. He certainly didn’t say they were nationalities. This is how you bots work-you deliberately misquote and then bash the person. That, my troll, is a form of lying. Which makes you a liar.

  • Diana

Oh and one more thing just because Hillary was a running candidate does not mean she still doesn’t get vetted. Biden was also in the running and was vetted. When they asked Hillary for her paperwork to be vetted she told them, “Don’t ask for them if she is not seriously being considered.” They never asked her for them again, so she said she knew she was never even up for consideration. That alone should have laid to rest your fantasy. Get a clue.

We don’t need to be reined in for having a different opinion, we don’t sign some oath of allegiance and are free to vote for whom we choose, for whatever reason or to vote against whom we choose for whatever reason. We don’t have to justify it, we don’t have to grovel and beg, we can switch parties if we want, we can endorse whomever we want. We don’t have to consider issues that really haven’t changed in 35 years, and we again do not have to justify one single thing. I cannot recall ever, a group of voters being put to the wall like Clinton supporters. IT isn’t as if this was a fluke; this was huge problem, we felt cheated, we are pissed.
There really aren’t a whole lot of justifications for doing what was done, there is the thought put out that it was the rules, blah blah blah, but if it were, the same rules from the beginning that would be different, they are not. The real pisser is the O voters know it, but don’t have enough sense to quit rubbing the Clinton’s supporters face it, they enjoy doing so, for some sick reason. So if someone wants to support McCain, go ahead, you should or whomever, but I’ll be damned if I will sit around and let another round of the O passive aggressive,Oh God we have to vote dem not matter what pass by without a comment. It’s pure BS. vote what is right for you, if you don’t know what that is, vote what you think is right for the country. It isn’t one issue, our country and it’s problems are more complex and will take whomever wins to work together. IT will be impossible to support someone you don’t feel you can trust, or someone who enjoys creating more problems just for the sport of a campaign win.

  • Belynda

You are so lost, and childish, didn’t get what you wanted, so put another Republican in office out of spite! THAT’S REALLY SMART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Belynda

And I suppose a Republican who offers more of the exact same thing that has this country in the crapper will????

    PLEASE… GET REAL!

  • BlueTopaz

Does anyone here really believe this troll was acutually a sincere PUMA member?
    No? Neither do I.
Your gang said BO could win w/o us. Well, prove it, bitch!

  • LogicallySpeaking

We are allowed to vote for whomever we want.

  • Katmoon

And.. be realistic when you vote, really read the issues and realize there is only so much money available, and there is only so much time, about 3.5 years, not 4, because of future campaigns, etc. The major issues that may get addressed if we are lucky, are the war, the economy, health care, the educational system, social security and the environment and infrastructure. Whatever issue is the biggest pig gobbling up the money for our country, will get hit the hardest, and it may well be based on that perception, not what is most humane or decent. No funding can be released if there isn’t a way to stop the money from bleeding out. I’m just saying whomever you think can truly give what we need, and who will be willing to work with that person and their administration. Whatever your particular candidate considers the big pig, will produce what becomes priority for issues to be solved. It’s pretty to think so much can be taken care of, but I truly believe you have to staunch the bleeding first; I have my ideas where that is at and who I see will be able to handle it as a president.

  • Jane

As a lifelong feminist I have to say this anecdote about McCain, and it probably is true, has the importance of a pebble. Who among us has never called our girlfriends, boyfriends, lover, mate, husband or wife a name, in the heat of an argument?
How utterly ridiculous that this story has any merit in being recounted. Im not voting for McCain for Sainthood, Im voting for him as my second choice after Hillary, as someone I believe has integrity, and in spite of having called his wife an unbecoming name, the moral backbone and fiber needed to be a US President.
Obama and his crew routinely say unbecoming things about Hillary, untrue things, and BO has shown a side of himself I can only interpret as being misogynistic.
So this story about once upon a time when John McCain called his wife a name, is pretty lame and its time to move on to the bigger picture.

  • BlueTopaz

Or maybe, just maybe, BO is more dangerous than JM? When someone cheats, lies and bullies his way to the presidency, he is up to no good. Just look at W.

You, Faux-PUMA and the rest of the BO clan are responsible for any grief we face in the next 4 years. Own it, bitch!!!

  • Jane

Go back to your bong smoking then dude, leave the adult things to the adults.

  • Jane??

Just to let you know that you are using my name. I just don’t want anyone to think it’s the same Jane that has been posting here.

  • trv

didnt the guy turn up dead a few weeks later?

  • Jane

    Amen to that

  • Jane

    maybe you are a troll

  • ohio

Well, here’s what I have to say about the unions. I have been a union rep, which is one of the reasons I went to being an Independent. My spouse is a union rep now and he isn’t backing Obama. And from a work force of about 800, he said it would be safe to say that half isn’t voting for Obama. The “private ballot” issue has them pissed. My spouse has worked for over 30 years as a rep and now they want to make voting for a union, public, not private. They say it will provide for intimidation against that worker if that happens. So while they are a part of the union, they will not back Obama in the privacy of their voting booth on Nov 4th. And I can say with experience, that the dems have screwed over union workers as much if not more than their repub counterparts. I know, I’ve been behind those close door meetings. It’s not always about the workers.

  • Jane

Ex, you are a pathetic liar, no one is buying your story about being a PUMA or even someone who understands what the Dem Party was about, before it was coopted by trolls, thugs and crooks.
You failed the secret internet handshake test, so give it a rest. No one is going to convert to your brand of fundamentalism

  • Ex-Puma

Money is not a DNC problem. It is a Hillary problem and Will Bowers telling Obama supporters not to bother donating was for what?

  • Monet

My aversion to Senator Obama and the current DNC leadership has nothing to do with Hillary, being bitter than she isn’t the presumptive nominee, sexism or racism. If Hillary had been Harry Clinton, I’d be voting the same way and working to toss Senator Obama and the DNC leadership out. I am furious that the a self-interest faction of the DNC has taken over the party, rigged the primary and are most likely busy rigging the general election. They’ve been so busy planning for their take-over of the DNC, they couldn’t even take time to find a candidate puppet that is qualified to be president.

All they could come up with in a candidate is a man experienced in reading teleprompters, funneling money into substandard low income housing that was built and managed by greedy crooks, starting after school programs (or so his wife mentioned he did this last night – I have no idea if he has), choosing a radical church, making friends with 1960′s violent radicals who liked to blow things up and quite possibly has at least two citizenships, which is a no-no according to the Constitution. This self-interest faction is comprised of bunglers that can’t even choose a good candidate, how in the world do they plan to meet their objectives? At least the Republican’s neocon faction isn’t a bunch of bunglers who can’t bring about their objectives.

I’m not voting for McCain because I’m pouting that I can’t vote for Hillary Clinton. I’m voting for McCain because when there’s a crisis he has a long history of showing up informed with knowledge and a plan for resolving the situation. I don’t always agree with his policies or his plans to resolve a crisis, but at least I know he’ll show up and do something.

Senator Obama has had a half dozen years to prove he can show up at a crisis, informed, knowledgeable and with a plan for action. He’s never once done so. Instead he’s armed with the words “present,” “hope” and “change.” They’re nice words, but one can write them over and over on the blackboard 5,000 times and they aren’t going to resolve a crisis.

Senator Obama’s wife last night in her speech mentioned that she admires him because he sees the world as it should be, not as it is and encourages people to strive for the should be world. It’s a nice sentiment and yes, I like to envision the world as it should be too. The only problem is, I have to live in the world as it is and until we resolve the issues facing us in this world – we can’t begin to make the world as it should be.

No, it’s not about Senator Clinton for me. Senator Clinton had choices and she chose to suspend her campaign and give her support to Senator Obama. I’m fine with that. I would prefer Senator Clinton was running for president but she chose to take a different path this past June, which is her right to do so. I also have the right to decide I want nothing to do with Senator Obama and the self-interest faction within the DNC. I’ve suspended my support of the Democratic party for the presidential race.

What is so difficult for people to understand about that????? I’ve had yet to see anything in the Constitution or a Federal statute that mandates if I support one candidate for president and he or she drops out of the race, I must then support the candidate he/she chooses to. When did the DNC and the media enact the law that we must all play follow the leader and jump off the cliff with their favorite new toy? I’m breaking this imaginary law.

  • Jane from Tx

Ex, I hear your tears and crying through the pages, there actually was a misquote. People have posted whole blogs in apology for mis-referencing the amount that was raised. They apologized. It was a MISTAKE. The people who created these pages and who come here day after day, (not the idjit trolls)love Hillary. We all supported Hillary. Most of us hope she will run in 2012 if there is no other alternative.
But we will not be swayed to vote for Barack, regardless. So your continued whining is just really tiresome. Think about it.

  • Jane from Tx

    YouGuysAreUnbelievable
Little tiny weenie of a man, Hillary Clinton is a consummate professional. She has been active in politics since your mama was still wiping your sorry ass. She has been a Democrat longer than that. She is a prominent political figure and Im sure she has no intention of throwing in the towel, she still has a political career and isnt about sacrifice and being a victim. She is doing what the Party expects of her. Maybe if I were in her shoes Id do the same.

  • tartu

dg? you always quote the line you are responding to – dead give away.

No, Obama has a history of drug use. No one has made that up. Sorry! Bet you wish that would go away!

Yes, I believe both Dean and Pelosi have contributed tremedously to the rift and disintegration of the Party. They deserve to be thrown out.

    d2d:
If the universe is as many billions of years old as they tell us, then our tiny moment in time is but a tick of the clock. DONE?? d2d??? There is no done until your life force is poured back into the Greater Cosmic Balance.
When you chose to be born at this exact time it was for a purpose. It is only now that you and all the PUMAs have arrived at the exact point and place in time when the stars have aligned to allow you to accomplish that purpose.
Think of it d2d, At this very moment in time the PUMAs are at the cross roads of the oldest and most powerful republic the world has ever known. It is not the defeat of your cause, but the way your cause was defeated, that now gives you the power to actually accomplish what others could only dream. It is the mistreatment of Hillary, your cause, the PUMAs that arouses the ancient resentments that dwell deep with in every female on the face of the earth.
Harness that resentment, seize the moment before it goes spinning off into the Cosmos to be lost forever.
After the defeat in November, and there will be a defeat of “The One”,in November, demand the keys to the Party. Any Captain who runs his ship on the rocks must be relieved. When females control a Party they control their own destiny at last.
Reluctant leadership is the very best leadership. Washington was reluctant to be President which is what made him indispensable.
A tired, discouraged d2d is more important to the cause than a hundred fresh face newbies. The wheel is in spin and it is your time d2d, and the PUMAs if you step up and take it.
    All this to shall pass.
    Good Luck.

  • Ex-Puma

Neither Hillary or Obama can improve things right away – but a Democratic President can actually start going in the right direction.

  • msindy

How can you be ex-PUMA and say BS like that. PUMA’s have strong backbones and think for themselves.

  • No for O

How old are? Your silly post tells me that you don’t know anything. That you research nothing. That you swallow hard and easily.
Yes, John McCain was a POW, a survivor but you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to HRC.

  • msindy

Obama couldn’t find his way to the men’s room without 300 aides giving him directions.

Nobody’s buying your BS here. You’re serving no purpose but to make yourself look ridiculous.

  • No for O

You and many others will answer this way. No deal for that shiny mr emptiness.

  • Bamboozled

Well, go on over the Obama.com and leave us alone then.

  • FranSC

IndayHill, you said Hillary was victimized by a corrupt DNC led by BO. The DNC was and is corrupt in light of their selection of the nominee, BO, long before the first primary contest and set out to make it happen. Historically, the DNC and party leaders remain neutral until AFTER the nominee was selected by the voters.

However, this effort was not LED by BO!! He has done what the above mentioned told him to do. They “fixed” the primary schedule to favor him, he is using Dean’s 50 State Strategy, Pelosi got the Silicon Valley, CA venture capitalist company to organize his slick hi-tec campaign including the record breaking fundraising, the thousands who came to the events, and organized the fraudulent caucuses – ONLINE – with the DNC blessing. Their strategy was to run up the delegate count by organizing ALL the caucuses, sending MoveOn.Org thugs to take them over and disenfrancize Hillary voters.

THAT is the way this unqualified candidate is where he is. He most assurely was NOT in charge of it, but went along with rigging the primary to defeat the most qualified candidate who won all the big state primaries and happened to be a woman who was set to make history.

BO was brought across the finish line with the fraudulent caucus delegates (207) AND the Super Delegates.

  • cowgirlblues

Just watched Hillarys speech-she rocked the house….There was the candidate we wanted as president-she knew us and would fight for us-I was so proud of her and so sad we won’t have her fighting for us in the white house.Obama doesn’t know us and doesn’t care to-we are bitter “white” americans-not hard working struggling to make ends meet americans-he is arrogant-and to watch the expression on mrs. obamas face—priceless

  • Marty in Iowa

this is not about Hillary any more , this is about America, do we let her down? Obama has such a checkered past that he should not even be considered for any office. Wait for the next shoe to drop, do you really think Reps are going to let this man defeat America, with the help of all the true Hillary supporters that saw through all this man and the DNC have to offer, no way Obama. Lets join hands and see that this terrorist is dishonored and thrown out. Our country needs us right now, we are the soldiers on the home front and we need to protect our freedom from terrorism within.

As a McCain supporter, I’m glad you guys are supporting my candidate. I just think you should be clear about something. Doesn’t all this show that is Hillary exercising bad judgment by supporting Obama?

I mean, look, I’m a moderate Republican. If any other candidate had been nominated, I’d probably have voted for a democrat…so I can easily see myself in your position. On the other hand, Hillary doesn’t seem to agree with you about Obama. Is she blind or dumb because she supports Obama? Is she incapable of seeing what you see as obvious? Does she lack the great judgment you guys are displaying by failing to see Obama as a threat to the country?

If anybody else had praised Obama the way Hillary does, you’d be calling them every name under the book. Why does she get to do it without condemnation?

  • Wise Up!

Well said. And who ever told Sen. Clinton to spoil her chances of being on the party ticket by attacking Barack anyway? You don’t think 4 more years of the current republican economic policy would be dangerous? I’m not sure the country could survive it for another 4 years. We’ll be militarily tapped out and financially bankrupt.

The last 7 years have been built on a foundation of republican lies. 4,147 American soldiers are dead because of republican lies. And half of the McCain attack ad content is built on distortions and lies.

What am I supposed to think about all of that?

  • YouGuysAreUnbelievable

Hahaha funny…same thing everyone told Hillary as well…yet you worthless trolls still sit around here as if she’s ever got a chance at the Presidency again. Hahahahaha. Keep up the laughs!!

    YGAU:
Based on your statements above, you will love and support the following:

“The natural reminder here is O.J. [Simpson] — how does an African American candidate attack a white woman?”

Statement to the Washington Post from Jesse Jackson, Jr. regarding Hillary’s loss in Iowa. Junior is Obama’s National Campaign Co-Chair.

Obama pays the women working in his Senate office less than the men working on his staff. (The opposite is true of John McCain.)

I absolutely agree. No terrorists, friends of bombers, hate-America types. I disagree with McCain on some issues, but I am totally against Osama Obama. I voted for Hillary. Obama is not Hillary on a vast majority of issues. Besides he is a liar and a traitor. Nobama, No how!

I just mailed my first donation to McCain. I maxed out to Hillary a long time ago.

Please do not blame Hillary. Hillary is not dumb either. Hillary is a die hard Democrat who is true to her party, typical Democrat style. Time might reveal otherwise, but as for now that is who she is and we should, as you should respect that.

The Democratic Party believes strongly in Party first. Further, I doubt it would be good for Hillary to abandon ship. No matter what you might think, Hillary is no Judas.

Yes, she was cheated and mistreated, but she is taking her lumps like the woman she is. She knows her day will come and she has her to supporters to see her through.

So to put it straight on the up and up, do not bash Hillary. Leave Hillary alone and let us all move on.
