Guess the Blog

Free Republic or Kos/Americablog? Who can tell the difference anymore?

Let’s be clear. I’ve picked my share of fights with some of the inhabitants of Wingnut Blogsylvania. I got into a brawl with Michelle Malkin that got so heated that the Freepers joined in, which achieved the unintended consequence of sending my pageviews through the roof. Vexed by my attack, Malkin honored me with a mention in her book Unhinged: Exposing Liberals Gone Wild (I was apparently a prime example of an unhinged wild liberal. Cool!). I mocked the trio at Powerline, two of whom at the time were blogging under the hilariously phallic noms de blog Hindrocket and the Big Trunk. I’ve had Freepers insult me and publish personal information about me. I don’t like being hounded by crazy people but I also don’t like cruelty, lies and unfairness. These used to be the hallmarks of the right wing. How far we’ve come in only a few years.

I’ve talked at length on Hour of Power about the lefto blogosphere and have focused my ire on Americablog’s John Aravosis and Daily Kos’s Markos. Here’s why:

What will the Republicans throw at Hillary Clinton in the fall?

…surprisingly, still pulling punches with regards to what I write about Hillary. I don’t want to damage Hillary should she become our nominee, as increasingly unlikely as that appears. I don’t want to write about very real scandals in Hillary’s past, scandals that we will be forced to revisit for the next 8 months, and 8 years. I don’t want to write about the rumors about Bill that no one has written about to date, even though the rumors include lots of details which are at least just as true as Obama being a Muslim. While Hillary’s campaign is pushing known lies about Obama, such as the “Muslim” connection, most of the stories about Hillary are anything but lies. They’re real stories that she will have to discuss publicly, again and again and again, to her and our party’s detriment.

You will notice that neither Obama’s campaign nor Obama’s official, or unofficial, surrogates are talking about the Clintons’ past or present scandals, the Clintons’ negatives, what a Clinton run for the presidency will to Democratic congressional races and governor races across the country. The Clintons are counting on the fact that none of us will write about their negatives, because we’re too nice. So they can get as dirty as they want, with impunity.

Well, come Wednesday, if Hillary doesn’t win 65% of the delegates in Ohio and Texas, and still insists on staying in the race and ripping our party in two, it will be time to start treating candidate Clinton with the same golden rule she is using for candidate Obama. Why? Not for revenge, but for the sake of our party and the fall election. Hillary and her campaign are in the process of turning Obama into damaged goods in the fall. They didn’t have to go there, but beating Obama became more important to them than beating John McCain. So, the first question for Hillary come Wednesday, should she decide to continue risking our chances of winning in the fall even though the math says it’s over, will be the question she’s asking Obama today: What negatives will the Republicans throw against you in the fall? And as I’ve noted repeatedly, there are some negatives out there that most of you don’t even know about – but everyone in Washington knows about them, in detail. That’s because even Democrats who don’t love Hillary, don’t go there, for the good of the party. On Wednesday, the good of the party may dictate that we do.

Your liberal blogosphere, threatenting to blackmail a candidate.

But wait, there’s more!

I’ve been wandering around Denver for a couple days now and haven’t seen any sign of the PUMAs — the diehards who purport to support Hillary, but are really just a bunch of media hogs and losers. From my vantage point here in Denver, it feels like the hype has been overblown.

Okay I’m breathing again. We’re in this for the long haul. I just have to remember that. And I may get to go to Penn and work for Obama with my best friend! Great.

But I DREAD the next 6 weeks of Clinton. And I agree. At this point I’ve decided Vince Foster might not have committed suicide and I’m beginning to wonder where Bill’s been getting his nookie and what was that deal with Whitewater again? Could you explain it to me? Unfortunately (fortunately) I know Obama is better than this, but I’m not, and I’m asking.

Hillary didn’t personally take a 9mm Glock and blow Vince Foster’s head clean off. …at least as far as I know.

It’s the fascism, stupid!

Foster probably committed suicide… (0+ / 0-)
in his WH office. Hillary likely had the body moved to avoid the bad press.
In any case, there are still a lot of unanswered questions here.

(UPDATE FROM LARRY JOHNSON–DCMedia Girl had trouble putting in the block quotes, which gave the unfortunate impression she was endorsing these views. She is not. She is demonstrating that no matter what Hillary does tonight she will be blamed for whatever trouble befalls Obama.)

It’s good to see the arguments of your enemy, so you can be prepared for their lies and slander in confrontation.

It’s even better to not have to visit their site, so they don’t think you’re visiting because you like them. I like the idea of not helping the advertising revenue of an idiot.

Gloria Allred a Clinton delegate disrupts a breakfast meeting, from yahoo news:

Things are coming undone at the convention…

    • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

      Then, there’s this:
      Bill Clinton’s remarks.

For those of us interested in politics, it was an endlessly fascinating process already, and it’s still got some twists and turns between now and November,” Clinton said.

      • Timmah

He said: “Suppose you’re a voter, and you’ve got candidate X and candidate Y. Candidate X agrees with you on everything, but you don’t think that candidate can deliver on anything at all. Candidate Y you agree with on about half the issues, but he can deliver. Which candidate are you going to vote for?”

Then, perhaps mindful of how his off-the-cuff remarks might be taken, Clinton added after a pause: “This has nothing to do with what’s going on now.”

Hilarious. Of course, President Clinton is not talking about Barezkobama. He’s talking about a purely hypothetical presidential campaign that may or may not be going on in 2008, may or may not be in the U.S., and may or may not even be on the planet Earth. No. Not talking about 0bama at all. No, sir. Not at all.

Clinton herself may cut off the voting and urge the unanimous nomination of Obama, according to Democratic officials involved in the negotiations.

But some Clinton delegates said they were not interested in a compromise, raising the prospect of unwelcome floor demonstrations.

Gloria Allred, a California celebrity lawyer and pledged Clinton delegate, briefly disrupted a breakfast meeting of the California delegation on Tuesday. Wearing a gag over her mouth, she protested efforts to discourage Clinton supporters from speaking out.

Can’t help but notice how the Democrats were so concerned about Republican corruption but now when a candidate has a (D) behind his name, corruption is fine and dandy.

Nobody dares mention Obummer’s Rezko money connection. Can’t mention Obummer campaigning in Kenya for Odinga who proposed installing sharia law in Kenya and whose supporters committed ethnic cleansing. Cannot mention his Muslim past – oh, and by the way, I do not object to anyone being a Muslim. What I object to is Obummer denying he ever was a Muslim.

faxed to H DEAN at his hotel on 8/25/08:

    Dear Dr. Dean,

I will first quote the relevant rules to you, in case you missed them, from the rulebook:

    DNC RULES
ARTICLE 8, SECTION F1: “NO SECRET BALLOT SHALL BE PERMITTED AT ANY STAGE OF THE CONVENTION OR ITS COMMITTEE PROCEEDINGS.”

SECTION 8F3: “VOTING SHALL BE BY VOICE VOTE, OR WHEN PRESCRIBED BY THESE RULES, BY ROLL CALL VOTE.”

I have been silently outraged at your flouting of established DNC rules, since your installation of Barack Obama as nominee, when the immoral and illegal vote at the Rules Committee took place in May. Now we receive word that you are planning another atrocity upon the very rules our great party abides by, in scheduling what amounts to a secret vote.

You have to stop this kind of behavior, immediately. Even the rather disreputable Republican party would not upend its own rules in this way. It was bad enough to suffer eight years of an illegally installed president. You are now out-Roving Rove, and maybe even out-Nixoning Nixon. (What you are plotting right now makes Watergate look like Tinkertoys.) I am a lifelong Democrat and have become, for the first time, and under your watch, ashamed to be one, and will not be one for long if you do not do what you were hired to do, entrusted to do, and run a proper, transparent nominating convention, floor fights and all, if it should come to that, and with all votes counted and voices heard.

    Sincerely,

Funny those Lefto wing-nuts always say Hillary is HATED by Democrats, when the fact it is THEY are in the margins.

PRINCETON, NJ — The intense battle for the Democratic nomination between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama seems to have done little to diminish Democrats’ affinity for the New York senator. Eighty percent of Democrats have a favorable opinion of her, compared to 74% just before Obama clinched the presidential nomination in early June and 82% before the primaries began, when she still rated as a strong front-runner for the nomination. Her favorable rating among all Americans is 54%, the most positive since just after she officially announced her candidacy in early 2007.

Dawnelle, believe me, the reason so many liberal academics are enthralled with Obama is that they see in him the culmination of their socialist dreams. They hear in his words all the leftie lingo they studied back in college. It’s already clear that Michelle’s little performance last night as the South Side June Cleaver echoed some of Saul Alinsky’s words from Rules for Radicals. Here’s an excerpt from Alinsky:

“The standards of judgment must be rooted in the whys and wherefores of life as it is lived, the world as it is, not our wished-for fantasy of the world as it should be.”

Sound familiar? Here is what Michelle said last night:

“All of us driven by a simple belief that the world as it is just won’t do – that we have an obligation to fight for the world as it should be.”

Behind her little Stepford Wife fashion makeover beats the heart of Angela Davis. That New Yorker cover was no joke.

Funny how votes no longer count when applied to Obama and Biden. Obama’s FISA vote? Okay. He has a secret plan, much like Nixon’s secret plan to end the Vietnam war, to end FISA. Hillary vote against FISA? Shows she just wanted to embarass Obama by doing what the majority of Democrats wanted done.

Biden votes for the IWR? Not a problem. It shows he was actually anti-war. Anyway it didn’treally authorize Bush to go to war.

Hillary voted for it and said vote is unforgivable. It shows she’s a warmonger. Her vote shows the IWR did authorize Bush to go to war.

I’ve seen some political contortions but these are classic.

you didn’t think I meant hot bodies did you? My god, you’re all cows.

    • jimbo

Yeah, but we all know which way is north and south, unlike you who just goes in circles. By the way, I’m a 67 year old male hard body who knows how to use it, in all respects, so please show a little respect to we PUMAs.

Joe Biden Has Deep Ties to Rezko Accomplice

‘Bama’s gonna need a new bus.

  • No Obamislamists

I think they’re already trying to lay the blame at the Clintons for Obama’s sagging polling. That’s why I think Dean and Pelosi have been so bellicose, because if Barky goes down, they go down.

I’m positive that if they fuck this up with Barky there will be a challenge to their leadership. The Clintons have a track record in the Democratic Party, Barky does not. I think few elected officials will continue covering for a one off loser like Barack Obama over the Clintons.

  • dcmediagirl

“Tom”: I’m happy to report that I’m sufficiently ego formed as an adult human being that I don’t project in my writing or otherwise. I think what’s happened to Americablog and Kos and other sites run by people I used to run with sucks. No projection, no ambiguity. What you see is what you get. And I’m not sure I get your “projection” comment. Are you suggesting I secretly wish I were part of the tinfoil hat crowd that believes Vince Foster was murdered?

  • E. Stoddard

I think you already cut off your nose to smite your face. Voting for someone who went against everything you believe in, and telling yourself its OK, is a smite above all smites and spites.

  • Rob in Chicago

Geraldine Ferraro said nothing that Obama did not say about himself at an earlier time, and as uncomfortable as many may have felt about what she said, there is a general consensus that she was right, if not exactly politically correct.

  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

    Thanks for Dubya, though —

And thank YOU, DNC for propping up Senator Six Names so that we can look forward to strong leadership from President McCain.

  • Obama-Biden08

So what are/were your thoughts on the front page plea from Webster Tarpley for funds for Larry Sinclair’s legal defense?

I guess it’s a not a matter of one “side” being tinfoil hatted nutjobs – it’s really more a matter of which style tinfoil you prefer, right?

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

Hsu gave to Barky as well, douche. And no, Hsu and his wife dodn’t buy a house and parcel together like Rezko the Obamas. Or did Hsu get government contracts like Rezco I could go on but you bore me.

  • mr. natural

Obama has returned all moneys that came directly and indirectly from Rezko.

I mean, it’s an unfortunate fact of modern politics that there are a lot of dirty money men in the game.

He hasn’t returned any of it, BlowBot.

He donated it, though I don’t know where he was able to find someone dirtier, someone willing to accept Rezko’s blood money. Yeah man, things are changin’ already. Gotta keep on buying patronage, though. Can’t change everything overnight, eh Vern?

  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

    Not six names, only five
I stand corrected. Senator Five Names.

And I’m so privileged to be posting on the same blog as you – the Human Garbage Arbiter. Is that an item on the new progressive agenda: Dehumanize American citizens by calling them trash.

I didn’t line up with human garbage like Andy Martin, Jerome Corsi, Sean Hannity and the like.

Then – I was part of the movement that helped get Howard Dean elected DNC chair… and for that — for the 2006 wins that gave us our first house majority in 12 years, I am eternally satisfied.

And what did we do with it, BlowBot?

    Nothing.

We devoted our new majority to carrying forward the policies of George W. Bush.

That’s what so tragic about your servility.

You have absolutely no influence over what’s gonna transpire after the big win you’ve been dreaming of.

    No idea at all.

    Y’know what’s gonna change?

    Here’s a hint. Look at BlowBama’s history.

    The answer is nothing.

    Nothing is gonna change.

  • Obama-Biden08

    Huh?

    Link and quote, please.

Where exactly is this ‘general consensus’? On Fox News?

Is the same ‘general consensus’ formed by people like Bill O’Reilly who was surpised to visit a Harlem restaurant and see the that patrons were actually using silverware?

If the ‘consensus’ is that we have a ‘level playing field’ — and that AAs somehow have an easier time of it in the world, well…

I’ve got a couple studies you might consider reading.

The first (http://economics.uchicago.edu/download/_DISCRIMINATION.pdf) from the U of C – conducted a study sending identical resumes for application to a variety of firms in Chicago and Boston… the sole difference was in the name on the resume. Guess what… the ‘Gregs’ and ‘Emilys’ got a 50% better response rate than the Lakishas and the Jamals.

Or – stepping out of the white collar world, here’s another study out of Princeton – this one concerning your run of the mill fast food jobs (http://paa2005.princeton.edu/download.aspx?submissionId=50874). Guess what… if you’re white – but with a felony record, you are as likely to get hired as if you are black, with the same level of education but WITHOUT a criminal record.

The idea that an African-American with the name ‘Barack’ has it “easier” is simply false. It doesn’t pass the laugh test.

Does that mean I think he deserves some sort of “extra credit”?

Of course not… but to argue that his race has somehow been a bonus is just silly.

  • Rob in Chicago

But as more people get to know Obama, his numbers diminish. If it weren’t for the DNC and Media “FIX”, thug-dominated caucuses in “red” states, and Pelosi’s assistance in purhasing superdelegates wholesale, Barky would be returning to his backbench status in the Senate, begging his mentor, retiring State Senator Emil Jones, for speaking time and a soapbox at “Bughouse Square” in Chicago.

    Obama’s record isn’t perfect

That’s true. The fact that his legaslative record is almost nonexistent should help you out.

Care to talk about his radical vote that supports infanticide?

And you know, you didn’t mention..he did name that library.

Then there was cheney’s energy bill.

Oh yeah, and he did take credit for welfare to work, another lie. Was that after his imaginary vote against the war?

    Face it.
You support an inexperienced loser for president, even his vp pick thinks so. Guess everyone sees it but you.

  • Judy

But I do like his 100% approval from Planned Parenthood

I’ve been puzzled by PP approval of Obama. There is the matter of his “present” votes in the Illinois Senate and I just don’t buy his explanation of how it was all a part of a planned strategy. Bonnie Grabenhofer, President of Illinois Now, had this to say about those votes:

Voting Present on those bills was a strategy that Illinois NOW did not support. We made it clear at the time that we disagreed with the strategy. We wanted legislators to take a stand against the awful anti-choice bills being put forth. Voting Present doesn’t provide a platform from which to show leadership and say with conviction that we support a woman’s right to choose and these bills are unacceptable.

The Present strategy was devised to give political cover to legislators in conservative districts. Barack Obama did not represent a conservative district; he could have voted No with very little negative consequence in his district.

the only 2 negs are the FISA vote

That first negative is an awful big one.

How do you feel about his recent comments regarding the death penalty, his apparent determination to further blur the separation of church and state, and his silence on the misogyny displayed by his ardent supporters?

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

OMG! It’s the old ‘she ate more cookies than I did’ argument. Keep talking…you are such a goof. I can’t stop laughing. You’re trying to make yourself sound so smart and soooo educated. My kids do that when they know they lost an argument. Poof it up with big words to make it sound more legitimate. Ohhhhhh. That’s funny, hahahah.

  • Obama-Biden08

So did a lot a chicago community leaders.

Ayers presence on the board shouldn’t be the issue. The issue should be whether the board did good work or not.

It’s awfully hard to argue with the grants it disbursed and the grants it helped many poor schools obtain.

I’m no fan of Bill Ayers, but for better or worse — he comes from an extraordinarily wealthy family that helps fund a large number of charitable organizations. What’s more – the wealth comes not from anything Ayers has done – so you can’t even make the ‘blood money’ argument.

You want to kick Ayers’ ass?

    Go ahead… I won’t stop you… I won’t even report you…

But trying to smear Obama because he served on a board that did good works, a board that also had various Chicago university presidents, business leaders, and the like — as well as a guy that committed acts of terrorism when Obama was what… 7?

    I’m not interested in re-fighting the 60s culture wars… I wasn’t even born.

If you want to continue fighting those battles – I won’t stop you.

But you’re using the thinnest of threads to try to… what…exactly?

Do think you Obama secretly harbors admiration for what Ayers did in the 60s?

What exactly do you think the ‘connection’ here is?

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

The schools suck in Chicago, you know how I know, that hag Michelle puts her children in private schools and gives them private music lessons. $10,000 worth. If Barky is so great at fixing the schools why aren’t his kids going to public schools like Chelsea did?

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

It makes you one, you dirtbag.

  • Barack Obama’s Children Attend PRIVATE Schools

At least Chelsea Clinton attended public school in Arkansas. The Obama children are apparently too good for public education.

    Obama is not a Democrat.

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

Um dude, my sons are all honor roll, including my autisic son. My oldest will be headed to Annapolis. And they’re friggin’ great little athletes as well. In fact, I must leave you now because we have to go train for the Washington State Governer’s Cup in November. Ciao. Oh and we support PUBLIC SCHOOLS! Not like the scum Michelle and Barky.

  • Obama-Biden08

    Most certainly not true…

It’s an unfortunate fact of the American system that it takes 60 – not 51 – votes to get meaningful legislation through the Senate, but the idea that the Democrats didn’t accomplish anything is an abjectly false GOP talking point.

The 110th Congress actually did pass some good legislation – some it over the veto of Bush, some of it over attempts to derail by the GOP.

The new GI Bill is the largest expansion of college aid to veterans since WW2.

The minimum wage went up for the first time in 10 years.

The FULL recommendations of the 9/11 commission were finally enacted by the 110th congress — plugging the holes the GOP left in deference to their friends who don’t like the added expense of scanning imported containers.

    They saved SCHIP.

They passed legislation that did more to increase funding for toxin testing in imported products than any bill in history.

They passed middle class tax rebates.

CAFE standards were increased for the first time in what… 25… 30 years?

    Was the 110th perfect?

Most certainly not… but the idea that “nothing changed” is ludicrous and simply not true.

  • Obama-Biden08
