96% of Political Class Views Tea Party Movement Unfavorably (Surprise)

Rasmussen has a new poll about the Tea Party. The findings suggest why democratic party hacks are fighting the movement tooth and nail.

Twenty-four percent (24%) of U.S. voters now say they consider themselves a part of the Tea Party movement, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. That’s an eight-point increase from 16% a month ago.

Another 10% say they are not a part of the movement but have close friends or family members who are.
————-

Forty-two percent (42%) of Republicans say they are part of the movement, compared to nine percent (9%) of Democrats and 24% of voters not affiliated with either major party. Thirty-five percent (35%) of Mainstream voters view themselves as Tea Party members, while 84% of the Political Class say they have no ties to the movement.
————

More noticeably, 96% of the Political Class regard the Tea Party movement unfavorably, while 58% of Mainstream voters have a favorable opinion of the movement.

FWIW, I hope the tea party doesn’t become a “real” party but stays a movement. Once it actually gets organized, internal politics kicks in and a party machine starts altering the atmosphere. Now, it vaguely resembles the (believe it or not) protests of the 60′s. Loose and not run by any particular person or group, those protests were influential.

And so far, so are the tea parties.

I’m for anything that throws a monkey wrench into the insanity that is our political system – go Tea Party!

“The Political Class”–I followed the links, but still cannot figure out exactly what this category represents . . .

That would be MSNBC/CNN talking heads, oowawa. ;)

The headline tells me one of two things.  Either they do not consider Tea Parties not part of the “Political Class” or that the poll had a taken among a highly biased sample.  Otherwise explain how the percentage who think that Tea Partiers are not part of the “Political Class” is larger that the percentage who do not call themselves “Tea Partiers”.

Correction: Either they (Rasmussen) consider “Tea Partiers” as not part of the “Political Class” etc., etc.

Would not vote for her unless Obama, Pelosi, Frank, Reid or some other Politician like them were running.

The appearance of the Tea Party on the political scene has been energizing for me.
It seemed like the corrupt Democratic Party would be completely unchallenged.
November’s election may lead to a significant shift in the numbers in Congress, and we need more balance in the system.

    Exactly

Well, I guess this means that I’m for raising taxes on the “Political Class,” whoever that is.  More to the point, I think that all of their income should be confiscated and they should be given an allowance based on what some random government bureacracy thinks that they need to live on.  “From each, according to their ability to pay as determined by the bureaucracy.  To each, according to their need to consume, as determined by the bureaucracy.”  This is the promise of change espoused by Obama, Reid and Pelosi.

I would vote for Hillary again in a heartbeat and it appears, according to the article noted, that a lot of people wished they had voted for her the first time around.

What I find so galling and laughable is the LAT’s encouraging it’s readers to “remember when” they ran a story a couple years ago about HRC, etc., etc., as if we somehow forgot the LAT’s ever not being biased for obama.  Just like the NYTs.  Pimp and prostitute all rolled into one.

On HRC:  That’d be hard, I think.  As I’ve said before she’d have a lot of explaining to do before I would vote for her.  I think she’s been a very good SoS, but if she ran it’d have to be on a brand, spanking new platform and it would have to specifically answer how the Democratic Party took such a wrong turn and how that wouldn’t happen under her watch.  Otherwise, no.

Count me as part of the 35%.

I wonder how many of the Tea Party Democrats, were HRC Democrats that the Obama Dems used to call racist as well?

    Buyers remorse.

    Zombiehero,
    I’m joining in as well!
Is this country going to have a president and legislators who are accountable to the people, or have rulers who issue decrees?
The next two elections will answer my question, and with strength and determination, ordinary people can force accountability!
