Hillary, All Class

After watching Hillary tonight I imagine the William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Reverend Michael Pfleger, Reverend James Meeks and Samantha Powers (ousted Obama advisor) wish they had backed her. This woman does not throw people under the bus. She is a person of integrity and sticks to her word. She sticks with people who, by their conduct, deserve to be abandoned. But she finds in herself the grace to forgive and look pass the sin. She promised to support the nominee, no ifs, ands, or buts. And she delivered. She gave Barack Obama everything he could want and much more than he deserves.

But it is not enough. She is right about the issues. But we now know we cannot trust Obama on the issues. He has no core. He has no foundation. He has no fundamental principle. He is a man of convenience and opportunity. He is an ideological chameleon and will glom on to people he thinks can help him get ahead. This does not make him a bad person. He’s just a typical Chicago pol.

I’ve heard that a lot about her having “class”. I disagree. She legitimized an election fraud designed to insure Karl Rove’s neocons would hold onto the White House. Remember, the only reason Obama became the presumptive nominee was because Sen. Clinton quit the race on June 4th (even though she promised her volunteers repeatedly that she wouldn’t), so now there was no one else running against him. Just like his 1995 state senate race. She knew better than to endorse a crooked, self-serving, slumlord-hugging politician whose presidential candidacy was the creation of the G.O.P. in the first place. No one deserves a pass for doing something like that.

        • imustprotest

oh please….this is NOT Hillary’s fault! Own your sh@@ty candidate!

        • Total disgust

She did not quit! She suspended her campaign.

The liars and trouble makers on NQ now I know are mostly REPUBLICAN TRolls.

There are a lot of Hillary supporters here who
will never vote for Obama but who also will never support a republican so you trolls suck regardless. Get a life.

Now who’s drinking the Kool-Aid? I donated money to Clinton, volunteered making phone calls, blogged, wrote articles making her case, and have her sign under my bed (now headed for the recycling bin). But last night, she basically delivered the Obama talking point that those who reject him and the DNC election process are doing so because of some childish emotional tie to her. That’s insulting. Why didn’t she speak up for the thousands of voters who submitted complaints in the caucus states? Or for Florida and Michigan? No investigation of any of that. Just Clinton rewarding a bunch of misogynist, cutthroat jerks by handing over the nomination and kneecapping every attempt made by her supporters on her behalf. She said this election would have lasting consequences, then she punted. Thanks for the memories…

              • Mobydick from Texas

What did you expect? Her hands were tied. The Clintons did everything for the Party that really doesn’t deserve it. In other words, they went through the motions because they were already being set up by Donna Brazille and others to take the fall in case Mr. “it’s never my fault” Obama lost the general election. Damn, it gives new life to you’re damn if you do, you’re damn if you don’t. However, things turn out, Hillary will always be my hero, she is the best. Hard headed Obama, he didn’t have the guts to take her as his V.P. For that, in South Texas, we say “TONTO”.

        • Foxx

I don’t disagree. She should have done a Lieberman. But she didn’t have the money.

She’s doing what she thinks is best in the long run. Time will tell what was right.

          • Hope Floats

Good point. But even if she didn’t pull a Lieberman, she didn’t need to come out and tart stumping for Obama. She raised 5 million for him in a day. Imagine if she had challenged him. She should have taken her case to the credentials committee regarding FL and MI. She should have pushed for a floor fight instead of this lame coronation. Maybe she felt surrender was her only option. Regardless, it’s over now. She let him get away with this, and she’s covering for him now. On to November.

Give Hillary a break, for chrisesakes! Not one of you above, whining about how Hllary didn’t do enough, has an ounce of her courage. You don’t know what she’s had to face, you can’t know the pressure she’s under.
I admire her loyalty to what she believes and, clearly, faced with two lousy candidates in the fall, she still believes that having a Democrat in the White House is better for the country. I’m not sure I agree with Hillary on this, but at least the extremely weak Obama’s power will most certainly be neutralized.

            • Ai1een

I agree – she should have stood by her convictions, it would have made her an even stronger candidate in the long run.

            • sjl106

She let him get away with this? taking it to the credentials committee? LOL you mean the same people who rigged the RBC hearing? Are you serious?

            • sjl106

She let him get away with this? taking it to the credentials committee? LOL you mean to the same people who rigged the RBC hearing? Are you serious?

          • Mirlo

This is a real ethical dilemma: short term versus long term, both are equal in value, it depends how you weigh each one of them.

I trust Hillary even if I don’t know her evaluation of the situation. Many people think having a democrat in the WH is the lesser evil.

I personally value a short term “bad” (McCain WH) is not as damaging in the long run as condoning a rigged election, allowing it to become standard procedure.

Just think: this is not rigging against another party, it’s going against your own. I have no words for my emotions today. I just try to reason and thus find solace that the pedulum will, eventually, turn into the oposite direction. Thank God for people like Heidi Li, Marc, Shtuey, Patsy, Larry, Susan and all those owning their votes, all those who speak up against this corrupt handling of the Primaries by the leaders of the Democratic Party..

The European tells more about your disagreement than the other topics of the convention. Not because they are ethical, of course, but it still serves to show that all is not well in Obamaland.

Today, on this sad day, I pay my tribute to all of you who oppose openly.

            • Diana L. C.

I trust Hillary, too. I think she way overdid the speach, especially the part about the spouses. It just seemed over the top. I think, in a sense, she knew that it didn’t matter what she said as long as she was being a “good little girl,” so she was really a “good little girl.” I did that kind of thing in elementary school when I wasn’t supposed to “act like a boy” on the playground. We all brought our dolls in and acted like “little good girls” until the teachers could tell we were mocking them.

She can’t help but be up on the blogs. She knows our minds. But she can’t be the one who blows the top off the caucus fraud, etc., because then she would be the harridan, whiner, sore loser. She knows it will come out.

I bet when she goes behind that curtain herself, she won’t vote for the Obaby.

          • beebop

Hell no. Leiberman has no hopes of ever running again for national office. She most certainly DOES.

        • CC Cane

Good Lord – What more do you want from the canddate that won the popular vote?

Hillary did everything right. This was a collective effort by party insiders to thwart the Clintons. The DNC stacked the deck with a few extra aces and held them all. And for what? To lose the White House in a year that should so easily be won? To force us to vote against a candidate instead of for one? It’s pitiful and criminal.

Historians will woner what we were thinking……

          • TruthToPowerGrabbers

We are absolutely for Hillary’s beliefs, values, and principles. It is Barack Obama who is not. Barack Obama believes in Barack Obama, and nothing more. He values only anyone and anything that will help him in his lust for power and position. He hasn’t yet met a principle or person he wouldn’t throw under the bus if it helps him get ahead.

I want to vomit forever every time I see a mindless Obamatron who couldn’t stop eviscerating Hillary 24/7 with the most horrific behavior during this alleged primary that I have ever seen in any election cycle – bar none – and now wants to “support” her and use her unwavering dedication to the Democratic Party to club us over the head. How fucking dare you?

You aren’t fit to speak her name. You know nothing about her beliefs, values and principles. You and your civics-ignorant mob couldn’t stop trashing her, her record, and all she stands for while you were busy circumventing democracy to steal the nomination for Obama. How dare you try to use Hillary to get our support for a man who isn’t fit to take out her trash, much less be POTUS? Crawl back in your hole, please. You wouldn’t know democracy, the Constitution, or a true patriot if they bit you on your despicable ass.

    • sfhillary

Hey, just a quick note on HRc’s speech from one of your favorite local evil Obamabots. In short, I think it was a great speech from a remarkable human being, one that moved me literally to tears, and I think that you will now see a flood of Clinton supporters moving back into the Democratic column where all of us progressives so obviously belong. No sane progressive American can possibly cast a vote for a Republican in November 2008. Hillary’s message to you, all of you, could not possibly have been clearer: “nothing less than the future of our nation and the future of our children hang in the balance.” Bravo, Senator. I am moved to tears again, just writing this, at the thought of what Hillary has done for the entire world tonight. She has proved her greatness and earned all of our undying loyalty for the remainder of her career — and bear in mind, she will be younger in 2016 than John McCain is today, and Joe Biden ain’t going to be running.

What you will do with this, you hardcore PUmAs, is obvious: you will ignore everything Hillary Clinton has ever stood for and keep working to elect John McCain. Whatever. Your numbers will now dwindle, thankfully; I will just say nobody who will cast that vote, or any vote other than Obama, this fall are not worthy of calling him or herself a Hillary Clinton supporter.

      • Deep Truths

Hillary just confirmed, complimented our decision to go, to be about her candidacy. Couple that with the reason we are against BO; thin resume, longtime companions with the likes of Ayers, Wright, Iraqi infrastructure criminals, caucus intimidation, narcissistic cult-building, and on and on, and it leaves us RATIONAL THINKING PUMAs no choice but to praise Hillary and NOT vote for Barack America Hussein Soetoro Obama.

The Obama new Democratic Party is not the Democratic Party many of us joined to fight for equality for all. We fought the radical right against racism and sexist. We are not about to accept it from the new Democratic Party. Obama’s version of “progressive” means discriminating against individuals based on race, sex or age; count me and millions of others out.

Country before voting for a racist and sexist political party.

        • sfhillary

As I said above, I’m aware that none of you will change your minds. Hillary disowned you tonight, and she spoke from the heart and through Obama, she will prevail; as I said above, with tonight’s speech she has made herself the next Democratic nominee after Obama; in fact, her throwing of her support behind Obama was so passionate and articulate and spoken with such conviction that I now believe that she believes that she is more likely to become president in 2016 than in 2012. She did it tonight, man, she did it all. And the Big Dog will do it tomorrow night, and Obama will be worthy of their words on thursday, and the Democratic Party will emerge from this convention energized and united in our determination to defeat the Republicans, meaning you.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton was presidential throughout her campaign, but most especially last night. I agree with her that we can’t accept another Republican administration. Remember, since Ronald Reagan was elected, with the backing of GE (parent company of MSNBC) and other corporate monsters, that we have had 20 years of the same conservatives in charge of our country. (And even holdovers, like Cheney from the Nixon administration.) Look at how they have stripped away our New Deal mixed economy for the benefit of the veddy, veddy, veddy filthy rich. How can we not suspect that some of this divisiveness is not the work of arch-conservatives, spewed by MSNBC and Fox News, like Karl Rove and his henchmen???? They want another Republican in the White House even if it is a pseudo-maverick like Sen. John McCain. If Governor Mitt Romney becomes vice president they will be ecstatic.
Let’s all ask for Providence to bless the DNC convention.
Maybe we’ll witness a miracle and the delegates from Michigan and Florida will put Hillary over the top during the roll call!

          • Grail Guardian

Actually, for once I agree with much of what you say SFHillary. And I am quite glad to hear that you are staring to appreciate Senator Clinton, even if you are a bit slow on the uptake. The truth is, if she had continued to fight the tidal wave the DNC has created for Obama her career would have been finished. She did not have the money or support (within the party) to continue her fight, so she did what was required to come back and fight another day.

The part I did not hear Senator Clinton (or anyone else) discuss, however, is what exactly is the plan to counter the myriad of problems that are about to come cascading down around the new Nominee’s head. After tonight, he has lost the shield of (the threat of) Clinton becoming the nominee or V.P. and the Republicans will be coming at him full force. The DNC and Obama have both shown themselves to be weak at combatting the arguments and accusations thrown out here at No Quarter and other web sites. There has been no forceful denial from the Obama campaign, and no proof offered to counter even the simplest of charges to deny (birth certificate, natural born citizen). Obama has proven himself to be an inadequate speaker when it comes to handling the few serious questions he has encountered from the MSM. I simply do not understand the game plan here. James Carville, discussing the theme of the convention, called it the best kept secret in the world, if there is one. I would have to say that title truly belongs to the strategy to fight the Republicans.

I personally do not like John McCain (although I abhor the Obama supporters who question his patriotism and suggest he was a coward or traitor while held prisoner in Viet Nam). But now I have a bigger quandry; who can I possibly vote for that has a chance of winning against him? Answer: No one. You (and your fellow New Democrats) took that choice away from me. So now I am faced with 4 more years of Republican rule, and have no one to blame for it but the Democrats (again). So I need to look at this from the perspective of who shall be rewarded with my vote. The people who have destroyed the first chance of getting out from Republican rule since Bill Clinton (they offered me Gore, Dean, Kerry – come on!) and who refused to impeach George W. Bush or extract this country from an illegal war (and before you throw out the Hillary voted for the war argument, go here: http://clinton.senate.gov/speeches/iraq_101002.html and read exactly what she said when she voted) despite an overwhelming mandate from the people in 2006. Nope. Sorry. No can do. I consider it my patriotic duty to remove every Democrat (and Republican) from office that supported this fiasco. So not only won’t I be voting for Obama in November, but don’t look for me to vote for any Democrats for quite some time to come. If there’s a local or state candidate running that I support, I will be voting for them on the Liberal line (or Green wherever possible). If they’re not running on another line, they’ve lost my vote.

My deepest regret is that I don’t live in San Francisco myself so that I could start by kicking Speaker Pelosi out of office.

          • ldyoung

How dare you say that Hillary disowned us? Geez, you don’t know very much about her, do you? Been drinking too much of the koolaid! By the way, Barry is now behind in the polls for the very first time after picking Biden! You can’t imagine how HAPPY that makes me!

        • John House

Don’t forget homophobic. Obama is obviously self-hating, with the MANY slights he’s made against the gay community.

          • ldyoung

I agree — and notice how Hillary ALWAYS mentions gay rights. She’s been the ONLY candidate not afraid to declare her support for the gay community.

      • s. hall

sfhillary — you are so transparent. First you hate Hillary to get her supporters to go for Obama then you love Hillary to get her supporters to vote for Obama. It doesn’t fly. Not interested Obama nor in you.

Your numbers will now dwindle, thankfully; I will just say nobody who will cast that vote, or any vote other than Obama, this fall are not worthy of calling him or herself a Hillary Clinton supporter.

The beatings will continue until morale improves!

        • Beth C. Taylor

Excuse me, but please define,”beatings.” Does this mean Clinton supporters will continue to be verbally abused and or have tires slashed etc. until they are beaten into submission? If so, morale will improve and reinforce a revolt against the Democratic Party leadership and strengthen the resolve of many of us to vote against Obama. Perhapse you did not get the memo. Obama supporters were supposed to make nice with Clinton supporters in order to get our votes. Actually, since Donna told us we were not needed, I do not see the urgency for all the angst to get us to convert. Your messiah just needs to stop lolling on Hawaiian beaches and cavorting on golf courses. Perhaps then he might actually show that he can campaign for hinself with the aid of his VP choice and let Hillary have a vacation. He’s already had two, one of which was while she was campaigning for him. Then she can get back to the Senate and continue working for the causes in which we believe like fighting against Fisa.

      • Ai1een

        sfhillary –

You are a piece of …”work”. Last time I checked every American has the right to vote his/her own conscience as to whom he/she believes would be the best leader for our country.

Hillary has the right to say who she supports and I have the right to disagree. Hillary would be the first to agree.

I watched her speech on FOX, and some of the pundits were saying that they wondered if some of the delegates gathered were having remorse about Hillary not being the nominee, thinking “What if?”

God, this speech only made me miss Hillary more. The campaign is not the same without her.

Bill tearing up made my own eyes watery!

      • Chicago Joe

I listened to Hillary and felt so sick to my stomach that we are stuck with BHO. She is so far superior and so outclasses him it isn’t even funny. And she is brilliant. She said all the right things, but managed to do it in such a way that her endorsement was more of the Democrats than the loser Obama. His selfish, sorry, egotistical ass is gonna cost the Dems this election.

Greta is breaking news about Ayers and Obama….the Annenberg Challenge. Obama was the chair, and Ayers was in another position of authority. Stanley Kurtz of the National Review proves that Obama is a liar (yeah, we knew that) with regard to his relationship to Ayers, and that in no way was he just a guy in the neighborhood. So Obama has not been honest with people about his relationship with the founder of the Weather Underground, the domestic TERRORISTS. Ayers and Obama were in the Annenberg Challenge (by the way, a total failure) working closely together, so he is a an out and out liar.

Wow! She brought home to all the people in the hall that they voted for the wrong person. I had goose bumps throughout her speech.

    • AJ

I agree 110% — she was awesome. She portrayed a real President of the United States — not some fake, corrupt fraud of a candidate. She said what she had to in order to please the DNC, but it was obvious that they had selected the wrong person. They handpicked some mediocre, unvetted man over a highly exceptional woman. What a mistake — wonder if they are crying now? If not Hillary, I will vote McCain. She did say that he was her “friend” right, so he can’t be all bad! Plus Obama obviously chose the wrong person for vp — my goodness, what is wrong with these people. Hillary outshines them all!!

    • makeji

I totally agree with you Carol. I cried and I laughed and I grimaced everytime she mentioned Obama’s name. She proved tonight that she is the one who should get the nomination. Crazier things have happened.

BTW, she never convinced me that I should vote for Obama, nor will I.

      • helen

She mentioned equal pay for women:
backtrack pays his female campaign workers less the the male workers.
McCain pays his female campaign workers equal or more than the male workers.

        She mentioned help for veterans:
backtrack cannot even take the time to visit the wounded veterans without press coverage.
McCain visits veterans often and quietly.

        She mentioned the energy problem:
backtrack voted for chaney’s energy bill.
        McCain and Hillary did not.

I know she has to speak for a democratic candidate but backtrack failed every test.

If not Hillary then it has to be McCain for the good of the country.

Hillary proved to the DNC that they made a huge mistake in who they chose as their nominee. Good for her. She also reinforced my deep respect for her and that she should have at the very least been selected as VP. It makes Obama look like a moron.

But what I found equally moving was the interview with the Clinton delegate right after Hillary’s speech. I was surprised that CNN talked to her for so long but she was passionalte and essentially voiced exactly how I feel. As a delegate, she is voting for Hillary.

I’m sorry but I’m confused. Sen. Obama, his cohorts and his supporters all insisted during the primaries that they didn’t need Hillary voters; particularly not her blue collar, white voters as they were putting together their own coalition of Independents , newly registered voters and would have the votes of all of the AA’s. Obama supporters have been heaping scorn, derision and hate on Hillary & Bill Clinton and on Hillary’s supporters for months now but suddenly you seem to think we should vote for your hero for the ‘good of the party.’ You all said you didn’t need us so why are you bothering us????

Also, given that Obama recently voted For FISA, has backtracked on his pledge to get All of our people out of Iraq by the end of 2009, now wants to redeploy troops to Afganistan, backtracked on the right of women to make decisions regarding abortions, has all but ignored gays and has now decided that providing federal dollars to religious groups is a Fine idea, and has voted for Every spending bill requested by Bush to continue the Iraq war, exactly how are his positions any different than John McCain’s??

We don’t have a clue as to what an Obama presidency would look like. He copied Every single one of Clinton’s positions during the primaries and is now basically doing the same with McCain. Now he feels it so necessary to cover up his lack of experience in foreign affairs that he’s playing the same ‘tough guy’ routine as Bush and McCain. When you don’t know a ‘feller’ very well to begin with, it sure doesn’t help any when he changes his positions as often as he changes his clothes. I don’t see how Anyone can make the statement that Obama’s positions are the same as Hillary Clinton’s – he ‘borrowed’ her positions during the primaries and has now backtracked on just about every single one of them.

We don’t even need to ‘go into’ his clear lack of judgment in associating himself with Rev. Wright, William Ayes, et. al. And obviously, he doesn’t have nearly as much self-confidence as his arrogant smirks would seem to suggest or HE would have put party over personal angst and at least Offered Hillary the VP position. So much for being a ‘uniter.’ As for being the ‘agent of change,’ he picked The most established insider there is in the person of Joe Biden. HMMMMMMMMMMMM acts more and more like a politician who will do or say anything to get elected – isn’t that what he repeatedly stated about Hillary Clinton??

I have been a proud Liberal Democrat since the early 1960′s but even I can’t vote for Obama Just because he’s the Democratic candidate. Nothing is Ever Obama’s fault and he displays a complete ignorance of foreign policy. Oh, did I mention that he seems to be on the cusp of sword rattling vis-a-vis Iraq?? But I’m supposed to ‘trust’ that Obama will do better with foreign policy than McCain would and that he will somehow not only know what to do to fix the economy but will ‘reach across the aisle’ to get his policies passed through Congress even though there’s NO evidence that the man has the ability to reach across the aisle to accomplish Anything. The man is simply not ‘ready for prime time’ and should have got some seasoning under his belt before running for the Presidency but he was So cock-sure of himself and of his powers of persuasion that he let his ego get the best of him and now we’re ALL going to pay the price.

I am SO ticked off that after 8 years of that miserable Bush, and with the office of the Presidency ripe for the Democratic Party’s pickings, the DNC elected to ‘annoint’ the weakest, least experienced candidate in the bunch. He’s a blank slate that the Republicans are and will have a field day making their marks on. Now that Obama is sinking in the polls, he and his supporters expect Hillary and her supporters to save his sorry butt for him. Hillary really has no choice but her supporters do. IF Obama does pull this off, it will be due in no small measure to the very people he flicked off his shoulders and played the race card with every time it suited his purposes – Hillary and Bill Clinton.

I’m so DAMN frustrated this election year I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Watching Hillary tonight, I did both.

        Over and Out.

        • frenchman47

Oh, did I mention that he seems to be on the cusp of sword rattling vis-a-vis Iraq??

      • ldyoung

You Obamatrons are just WORRIED — as well you should be — because Hillary supporters have not blindly “fallen in line” with the DNCs “chosen one.” Now you are BEHIND in the polls for the first time because when your shining star picked BIDEN as VP, all of the Clinton supporters who had not done so already went flooding over to McCain. And, for once, WORDS are not enough — not yours, not Obambi’s, not even our beloved Hillary’s. WORDS are empty now. It’s too late. When you Obama supporters could have been gracious and respectful of Hillary and her supporters — when Obambi could have done the same — there were no WORDS. And now any WORDS you utter won’t save you.

          “Proud wife.” Womp womp.

Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain’s intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, “You’re getting a little thin up there.” McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, “At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt.” McCain’s excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.

        • wry

I don’t think that is exactly accurate, in fact he followed it up by saying “I respect Senator Clinton”. The truth is McCain and Clinton respect each other and are friends (regardless of what she was required to say tonight). He was caught off guard and didnt respond right away. The Clintons are big enough to survive the fall out.

    • Ai1een

LET’S GET ONE THING STRAIGHT “DOUGLAS” & OBAMABOTS:

Hillary was by far the strongest Democratic candidate…embarrasingly so. She won more votes that Barack Hussein Obama and more votes than any other primary candidate in the history of our nation.

I supported Hillary to the maximum degree, both financially and in my actions for her candidacy. I am proud of the campaign she ran and even more proud of the lifetime work and committment she has given in service to our country.

HILLARY CLINTON was my preferred Presidential candidate…
      SHE IS NOT A GOD,
      SHE IS NOT MY EMPEROR;
      SHE IS NOT MY PUPPETEER
SHE IS NOT MY CULT LEADER.

Hillary has the right as a Presidential Candidate and American citizen to state her beliefs and I have the right as an American citizen (with a legit birth certificate to prove it) to disagree and vote and voice MY Presidential preference.

The freedom to make up my own mind based upon my own thought process and conscience is my right under United States LAW. This is exactly WHY Hillary is NOT responsible for the choices of her 18 million prior votes. FREEDOM OF CHOICE.

Hillary would be the first American in line to support every fellow American’s right to vote their own conscience…and to state that every one of those votes SHOULD COUNT.

I am a TRUE American citizen and the welfare of my COUNTRY comes before PARTY loyalty or loyalty to ANY candidate, even Hillary.

NO ONE OWNS MY VOTE BUT ME… AND MY VOTE WILL BE FOR JOHN MCCAIN.

      • Ai1een

You are really pathetic….and racist to boot, no one makes comments like you all have about Michelle Obama’s face and expressions if they are not disgusting racists. I respect Sen Clinton however I am terribly disappointed in how the DNC handled the whole campaign process from the vetting (or non vetting) of Sen Obama, FLA & MI, Caucus situation, and forcing delegates to support Obama when the popular vote in delegate’s state indicated Sen Clinton won.

I was waiting to hear Sen Clinton’s speech before I made a decision.

As of this evening, I am STRONGLY considering renouncing my Democratic party membership.

However, I am waiting until the delegates vote.

One thing I know for certain is that I will not be voting for Sen Obama in November.

    • dee4hill

For me, the journey began when the Chicago Machine started labeling Bill Clinton a racist. Then, the
Obama-Dean-Pelosi cabal started calling for Hillary to step aside.

But when the DNC coronated The One and in broad daylight, broke their own rules, and strong-armed and paid off delegates to support him… I made up my mind then. Bill and Hillary could knock on my door and beg me to vote for Barky and I’d have to say, “Mr. and Madame President, I have the utmost respect and admiration for you, but even you cannot change my mind.”

Just as they strong-armed the delegates, they’ve strong-armed Hillary to be a “team player.” They have, more than likely, threatened her political future unless she “plays by their rules.” I can’t blame Hillary for any of this.

But I can cast my vote for McCain and wait patiently for four years, when the STAR of the Democratic Party comes back, and with the loyalty of more than 18 million we will claim what we want for our future. HER…

      McCain ’08 – Hillary ’12!!!

      • wry

Hi Dee! I knew you at Taylor Marsh. Much nicer here.

  • vjhinFla

She looked fantastic! And seeing Bill’s love and pride just made me cry. These two people ARE the core beliefs of the democratic party – the FDR democratic party. They embody so much of what the true democrats are.

What has happened!?!? I just refuse to vote for the DNC’s hand picked choice. Had they left the rpimary alone and let the process play itself by the people, things would be much different.

You know with the dem majority for the past two years, there is no excuse for things to be as bad as they are now. It is our democratic leadership’s failings almost as much as Bush/Cheney.

  • BobO

I thought she knocked it out of the park. The video was awful (as in very good) because I feel we already lost the election. The election was in the primary, now it’s a matter of tweedle dee, tweedle dum and you can tell by the other speeches. Americans need more training and education? Are they kidding me? The United States has the best higher education in the world and the most highly skilled people in the world. What’s going on has nothing to do with any deficiencies of the American people and I personally find such claims outright insulting to all Americans.

    • vjhinFla.

HUH??? We may have the best HIGHER Ed. but certainly not our required K-12 Ed. And judging from behaviour of so many people on the internet lately, we are in a downward spiral. No manners, no respect and most people have no writing and grammar skills anymore. I don’t mean the typos – most are clueless about use of puntuation.

But I agree: the loss of the election was in the primaries. The dems once again have got the wrong candidate. I think gredd has taken over this country – and the world.

  • JimmyM

If, as Larry says, “we cannot trust Obama on the issues” because “he has no core”… then isn’t Hillary also sellout for supporting him so strongly?

Even if Obama is a “sellout” who “has no core”… it will be easier to push through the legislation on the issues that Hillary wants with him as president. That’s what Hillary cares about. President McCain would never sign universal healthcare, but (as Hillary said in the speech) President Obama will.

    • athy

      JimmyM
You are making too many assumptions.
“It will be easier to push through legislation on the issues that Hillary wants with as president”

      W H Y?

Sen Obama throws people under buses and his decisions are based on political expediency. What is politically expedient for him to do today might not be politically expedient for him to do tomorrow.

Look at how Sen Clinton was treated during the campaign.

LIFE LONG LOYAL DEMOCRATIC LEADERS WHO STOOD WITH HER SHOULDER TO SHOULDER OVER THE YEARS TOSSED EVERYTHING ASIDE AND SIDED WITH OBAMA EVEN THOUGH THEIR STATES CHOSE SEN CLINTON IN THE PRIMARY???

Look how the DNC ran this campaign. Are they going to run up to him IF he gets elected and say “Sen Obama But…but…you promised…you promised you wouyld support Healthcare legislation ”

And then …we…the citizens…are supposed to ‘suck it up and get in line and stop whining…
-for the good of the Democratic party. Oh yeah- I see that happening.

What on earth do you base your opinion on in that Sen Obama will push through her legislation?

Look what he did about FISA. Look at his track record.

I will not vote for Sen Obama in November.

Watching Hillary, it’s obvious to any sentient being that she is ready to lead and she is “The One” this country needs right now.
Obama is nothing but a poseur fraud who needs to collect prestigious titles in order to make himself feel that he isn’t such a worthless sack of excrement. He needs to go around telling everyone within earshot that this election is not about him because deep inside, he knows it is all about him.

I grew up in the 1960′s and well remember the rebellions of the day. I recall how it was popular for anyone under 30 to be anti-establishment, anti-war, anti-anything that was not youth related. I am not surprised that the Obots are clinging to Obama after discovering all of Obama’s rebellious connections. He surrounds himself with old kids that raised hell in their younger years and they still hang on to those feelings. No wonder old hippies drool over him.

The Obots are simply rebellious kids (be they old or young) that need a god to drive their rebellious nature. It is why Obama cannot stand on a issue for long, why he shifts his stance all over the the political map. He is a child with no core.

Øbama voted to allow young Americans to die when he opposed a bill which prevents the killing of infants mistakenly left alive by abortion. Øbama also strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. I am sure the ramifications of his votes on this issue have killed more young Americans state-side than the brave young Americans we’ve lost in the Middle East.

I am 100% pro-choice but I certainly don’t agree with infanticide. Allowing a baby, who is a product of a botched abortion, to die after it has been born is murder. Why is Øbama so ruthless against these young Americans?

If you are going to defend young Americans you have to defend all young Americans, even the tiniest and most helpless of them all. Øbama sure as hell doesn’t.

Sen Clinton presented no conflict for us. Sen Obama is not good for our country.PERIOD.

No I will not vote for Sen Obama-no matter what anyone says…

    • jimbo

You start out “I don’t think”. How appropriate.

    • mimi

I believe in fairplay. I believe in truth and honesty. I believe in one person one vote, in democracy and our right as a citizens to choose the candidate we care to support without any kind of faschist strongarming, bullying tactics and violent threats.

I believe in the US Constitution. And in the Checks & Balances of our government.

I want a president who has experience in government, foreign affairs, who is knowlegeable of the world not from an academic standpoint but from an actual one. Someone who can think on their feet and understands diplomacy. I want a president who can admit when they are wrong and stand up before the American public and say that. Someone who doesn’t take the worst elements of our society and use them as a way to make a statement. A human being who can be triumphant in victory and more important gracious.

I stand for myself first and foremost and I know that life is often filled with hard choices. I’ve seen enough presidents to know that the politicians when running for office will say anything to get elected. Once elected, they have only their character and good judgement to rely on when confronting domestic problems, the US Congress and the various world leaders. Presidents can certainly make a huge impact on our lives, but more often than not they can’t make radical change because the Constitution is structured in a way to prevent that.

The next president, even if it was Hillary is not going to have an easy path. Pay no attention to all the stops both Parties are pulling out. When the Inauguration is over, and after the first 100 days, it will be back to business as usual. The only surprises will be the unexpected events, like 9/11, like Hurrican Katrina, an earthquake or any natural disaster, a stock market crash.

I want the best person in office that has the goods to deal with all of that. I’ve accepted the fact that we will never get Universal Healthcare until those of us who want it, get off of our asses and make enough noise and protest until the pharmaceutical companies, the insurance industry and the goddamn doctors realize we are mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore.

One of the reasons Hillary was sabotaged was because of the interests regarding healthcare. That pretty much sums up where the 2 remaining candidates stand on the issue. Both McCain and 0bama are safe bets for the special interests. We will be having the healthcare discussion still in 2012. It really is up to us.

I see nothing in 0bama as a politician, an elected official, a private citizen and as a man. He wants to get elected POTUS. He looks good to people tired of Bush and those who hate the Clintons. He’s a biracial man who counts on his black half to seal the deal. He’s relyling on the historical stain of slavery to make his case and the desperation of AAs who just want to feel equal.

He is a conflicted, master manipulator. And I will not give my vote to someone whom I know in my gut to be wrong for this job.

If Hillary, McCain and 0bama were applying for a job in my dept., I’d hire Hillary, keep McCain’s resume on file and shred 0bama’s. Hillary’s just too damn smart, not to want to have on my team.

The perception of character counts in elections. In fact, it may count more than “positions.” Positions can change, and with Obama, they frequently do: Anti-FISA/vote for FISA; Public campaign financing embraced/Public campaign financing dumped, etc., etc., etc.

To look for clues as to what a candidate is truly about look to his actions. Obama has repeatedly shown disrespect to Hillary. He tends to place trappings of power above political substance. (Witness: fake Presidential Seal; reproduced Greek Temple setting for acceptance speech; Yea gads!)

I could go on and on in this way but why bother. It’s really a difference in our perceptions of this man. You see him as special, while to me he looks much more like horse meat.

    Fantastic Speech from Hillary.

She did all she could for the party.

Even though the Party machine in no way deserves any of it after what they did to her.

She spoke to the Democratic party as it should be not to the dirty party that it has become in selecting Obama.

She showed them what a true party leader looks like and acts like.

Her Gretness of character no way transfers to the shitbags who pulled off the stealing of the nomination.

I Love her for her courage and her loyalty even more than i respoected her for being such an astute intelligent and focused politician.

I am sorry she got stuck with some horrible campaign managers in the beginning.

I am sorry the DNC had the fix in for Obama since 2005 and spent so much time and enrgy screwing Hillary to get their Selected Fraud up in front of the american people.

I regret that the MSM has turned into the Pom Pom Panty Girl Brigade rah rah rah-ing for Mr Gosh Darn Good Looking instead of worrying about who really is best to lead our country.

But most of all I regret knowing all that i know now about Obama and his dirty past, his lies, his flip flops, his lack of accomplishments, his climing on the heads of greats to steal the limelight, his arrogance and presumptiveness and his cult like taking over of the many many ready to be pod people of america.

Because of that I have to say again. I love you for who you are Hillary. You make us proud as democrats.

I wish I could say the DNC makes us proud, but no matter how many times they put the gun to your head and trot you out to convince us that your greatness, your class, your loyalty should be transferred to them, they have not earned it. In fact this election season they not only squandered it they spit on it.

Post-Hillary’s convention speech–I have heard the most excellent speech of this electoral season by the front-runner of the democratic primary who should be our next president. I have voted in 10 presidential elections, but I possibly won’t be voting at the top of the ticket in 2008. We Americans may be described truthfully by Hillary, but many of us aren’t good citizens and don’t put the best leaders in the White House. We learn to regret our choice years after the election when we could have studied the candidates and make wiser decisions. We could have avoided these times. We could have been sage stewards of our futures. We could have taken this country to greater heights yet. It was possible.

A great speech. Inspiring. And such a shame she is not the candidate, as she is by far the most able of all the candidates to be president.

  • Andrew

I agree with you Larry, although I think Obama IS a bad person, unprincipled, power-mad, and, yes, un-American. I’ll always be there for Hillary. For Obama, never.

  • DisenfranchisedVoter

Hillary’s brilliance just PROVES to us that Obama should not have been the nominee. Asking us to support Obama are just words to me. They have no meaning because he is not a legitimate candidate and this entire year he has always depended on Hillary to cross the finish line. Now he is counting on her to unite the party. I just can’t take this sh*t anymore. After tonight I am more determined than ever before to vote against Obama.

BTW, anyone see the woman interviewed on CNN afterwards. She was in tears. She was saying “and you wonder why we believe Hillary is the best?” She said everything that Hillary supporters are thinking and why they can’t vote for Obama. It’s was very moving.

The biggest casuality of this election will be our futures if Obama is nominated. No one can listen to that speech and not understand that the wrong person was chosen for the job.

We learn to regret our choice years after the election when we could have studied the candidates and made wiser decisions. We could have avoided these times. We could have been sage stewards of our futures. We could have taken this country to greater heights yet. It was possible.

And, I can’t trust his character nor his lack of integrity; as demonstrated by his drastic flip-flopping and the ease with which he throws people under the bus. It makes me wonder when my turn comes to go under it’s wheels!

These are the reasons I’ll hold my nose, pull the lever for McCain in the fall, and look forward to 2012!

Yes He Can: pervert the primary campaigns; refuse to impeach or censure; support retroactive FISA immunity; abandon campaign and election reforms; reject universal or single payer healthcare; support the Class Action (UN)Fairness act; equivocate and deceive on deployment of troops; abandon issues on marriage rights, women’s control of their own bodies, LGBT; repeatedly support the Patriot Act; fear and refuse to debate other candidates; adulate the failures RWR and GHWB at the expense WJC and HRC; move right of and orthogonal to progressive principles.

I was very happy with her speech. She got in “gay rights,” which is a weakness of Obama’s; she got in “universal health care for every American,” which Obama did not campaign on; and she got in a wonderful tribute to Stephanie Tubbs Jones.

She’s doing what the DNC wants, but make no mistake, Hillary Clinton is her own woman.

Not sure how anyone could listen to that impassioned speech from Hillary and decide to go against everything she said — everything she stands for, and has worked for, and will continue to work for — and decide the hand the presidency to another Republican. It just does not add up, folks.

    • Mr. X

Obama does not stand for anything. Even if he says one thing or votes one way, he’ll flip his position whenever the wind changes. Take away Hillary and with Obama you’re left with literally nothing, not even an empty suit. This is for your future. Please step outside your bubble. I can’t believe that speech did not resonate with you.

To vote for Obama is to destroy any possibility of Universal Health Care because Obama will mess it up and people won’t give it another try for a very long while. Hillary has faught for it for 30 years and you think a 1 and a half year Senator will do what no one else has been able to do??? That he’ll succeed where Hillary has championed her cause for all those years??? That suddenly, he’ll have some kind of revelation that has escaped Hillary all this time??? This is where experience matters.

There are things at stake much bigger than your favourite candidate. Hillary represented true leadership. She represented the future that rightfully belongs to all of us. But that will not happen now. This is why people were in tears. What could have been!

      • baba yaga

You don’t know my favorite candidate is.

I am a huge fan of Hillary Clinton.

        I’m also a lifelong Democrat.

I’m not voting for John McCain. I’m sorry the Democratic nominating process is messed up. I’m sorry Hillary isn’t the Democratic nominee. But she’s not, apparently.

I’ll stay with the party, try to fix the party, fix the nominating process, and pressure folks in power to keep their promises. That is what Hillary asked all of us to do.

But join the Republicans? Vote McCain? Nope. I won’t do that.

    • Steven Mather

Her speech did not magically transform Obama into presidential material. People who with just cause believe that the Obama campaign has betrayed the public trust can appreciate Hillary’s qualities without accepting all of her judgments.

Michelle Obama had a smirk on her face through practically all of Hillary’s speech. Shame on her.

And I had better not hear that anyone in the Obama
campaign has anything sour to say about Hillary’s speech and all they think she might not have done for them. She has done plenty. Barky needs to stop whining and step up to the plate to do the work himself.

I love Hillary, but I am still not convinced.

They are already complaining that the mention of his name in her speech was minimal (only 10 times)and saying that she did not feature his personality and strengths enough. In other words she didn’t stroke his ego enough. They are saying the speech was too generic.

Hillary gave an absolutely stunning and moving speech tonight. She did what she felt she had to do.

And come November, I will do what I have to do: NObama.

African Americans still are contending that Bill Clinton is a racist and a crazy.

    • mimi

Yes they are. And what’s sad about that is that they can go on youtube and find the actual clip of the statement Michelle lied about and listen to what President Clinton said with their own ears.

The man’s reputation has been irrevocably damaged in the AA community. And the really crappy part is that neither 0bama or Michelle care about what they’ve done. They have an almost self-righteous indignation about it.

This is a huge problem for a lot of voters who might possibly be persuaded by Hillary. But apparently, it’s not important enough for the 0bamas to deal with like adults as well as politicians who have a vested interest in achieving a goal. I mean – he wants to be the president, not me.

Now personally, I don’t find that to be savvy. Am I not to conclude that this doesn’t speak well in terms of his leadership ability?

  • democracyfirst

Great speech by a true POTUS. She spoke loud and clear to what the Democratic Party is supposed to be about, but no longer is. She never mentioned anything about Obama’s lack of experience. She never mentioned Obama’s bad character. She did what she needed to do without lying about Obama’s qualifications, none, for POTUS.

We saw two great Presidents tonight – Hillary and Bill.

I will never vote for Obama – country and democracy before party. I will vote for Hillary this year or in 2012.

    • Tucson

Well said. She did not lie. She did what she had to do tonight. Shall see what is going to happen tomorrow night. If she is not going to be the candidate, I am more than 100% positive that I am going to vote for McCain. As Hillary said in the past, I trust McCain more than BO. Actually, I don’t trust BO at all…everything comes out from his mouth is not true. Show us your REAL birth certificate. You can do that if you are not hiding anything, Obama. I keep asking myself….why there are still so many people who are supporting him? Please someone explain to me, please.

      • BJinChicago

Nope, she did not lie. She did what she had to do with more class than GWB has shown during his two terms or BO during the primary. The Democratic leaders have made a grave error, and they will pay big time in November.

we care for Hillary much more then you realize. We heard every word of what she said, and what she did not say. You must not have been listening, or are you only programed to hear what you want to hear. Not once did she say he was ready to lead, going to be a great president or that he would make any of the changes he has promised. As with Obama everthing is not always what it seems. You must look and listen then carefully review the subject matter.

I stand up for what I believe in and it is not Barack Obama.

  • cellocat

Grace is not the same thing as submission. It takes courage to admire and respect and love someone, while simultaneously acting upon real differences of opinion. I respect her opinion, but must ultimately make up my own mind. This is a very difficult situation, and to just tell us to “follow our leader” doesn’t help, no matter how much it may seem like a simple prescription to you.

I understand; if I wind up voting for McCain, it will be with extreme reluctance. There are no good answers here. However, our votes are our own, and trying to force us with arguments based in morality or “good behaviour” don’t help.

If we felt real understanding and support and outreach from Obama supporters, we wouldn’t be so angry or be struggling quite so much.

Rather than giving us advice, you all might try giving us some understanding. You might get better results that way.

  • PA voter

Great speech! There has to have been buyer’s remorse among at least some of the people who voted for Obama.

There’s no way I’ll vote for Obama in Nov. It’s a matter of principle over how HRC was treated and how undemocratic this primary was. I see no conflict in not voting for Obama and HRC’s speech. Obama won’t end the war in Iraq and he won’t bring in universal healthcare and the list goes on and on.

    • mimi

      PA voter,

You have to realize that you are not one of these “low information voters.” You know the real deal. That NO presidential candidate running this year was going to bring the troops home ASAP. Bush has put us in a quagmire that’s going to take a lot of very heavy wheeling and dealing to get us out. Oh there’ll be some troop movement, but not an all-out withdrawal.

Healthcare? Well the pharmaceuticals, the insurance industry, the AMA, they made sure that the candidate with the actual healthcare reform plan was not the nominee.

And yes, the list goes on and on and on and on and…

      ad infinitum

  • beachnan

Hillary did what she had to do, and she did it brillantly. She inspires me whenever she speaks, because she speaks from her heart. She is a leader, and that came through loud and clear tonight. The Democratic Party, and especially the leadership of the party, need to be slapped upside their collective heads for not letting the primary process play out like it should have. I would have worked tirelessly to see her become our 44th President of the United States. As much as I respect Bill and Hillary, I cannot and will not throw away my vote on the empty suit Obama. When he loses in November, it will be Obama’s and the DNC leaderships’ fault. Then we will rebuild this once great party. Now, that will be change you can believe in.

  • VRWC – Amazin Dept.

You may not care, and please don’t be annoyed, but even Lucianne G. is impressed. I have never seen nice image, amiable words, posted about Hillary at her site till tonight.

I’d like to think that “No Way, No How, No McCain” is code for the more obvious “No Way, No How, Nobama” but I can’t even convince myself of that. But I can convince myself that Hillary was thinking of what Eleanor Roosevelt said: “You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

  • SJ

I still want to know what the hell was Michelle and Biden’s problem the both of them had some awful body language.

Hillary did her part but anyone looking at those two Michelle and Biden faces you would know they do not like the Clinton’s there was no soft looks there at all during Hillary’s speech I only hope some one in the media picks up on this.

As for voting for Obama, nope Hillary is right I am in this for her, its she I followed, its her I gave my vote to, so I will vote for McCain now to try and keep Obama out of the WH in order that Hillary can run in 2012.

If we felt real understanding and support and outreach from Obama supporters, we probably wouldn’t be so angry or be struggling quite so much.

Rather than handing out advice, you all might try extending us some genuine understanding. You might get better results that way.

Thanks Larry, you are right on. I had tears in my eyes as I watched her tonight. She is everything that BS isn’t. The comparison was so striking. Hillary is so real and he is such a fraud. No way will I ever vote for that empty, self-serving man.

rofl…even RU DY is displaying some common sense here.

“(CNN) — Sen. Barack Obama made a “big mistake” when he passed over Sen. Hillary Clinton, the most anticipated speaker at Tuesday night’s Democratic convention, for Sen. Joe Biden as his vice presidential running mate, Rudolph Giuliani said Tuesday.

“The normal political thing to do, in terms of the best decision to make to win, would’ve been to pick Hillary Clinton,” Giuliani, former mayor of New York, told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on the floor of the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado.

“It is a no-brainer. She got 18 million votes, Joe got 9,000 votes,” Giuliani said, referring to their showings in polls during their failed bids for the Democratic presidential ticket.

“She commands about 45, 48 percent of this convention.”

I agree with your assessment, Larry. Obama has no core values. If he were “transformational”, he would have had a positive influence on Ayers, Wright, Rezko instead of using them for his personal gain. It is all about him and power. Rewarding Rezko with government money while poor people suffered shows his lack of concern for the people Hillary champions. I don’t trust him to put forward her agenda. I’ll still go for McCain.

If a Hillary supporter refuses to vote for the candidate she has emphatically thrown her weight behind — Obama — that’s their choice. Vote for a third-party candidate. Write in Hillary’s name!

But for the love of God, don’t vote for McCain! If Hillary’s causes — universal health care, tax equity for the middle- and working-classes, women’s equality and right to choose, ending the war in Iraq and developing a sane foreign policy — mean anything to do, don’t vote for a person who is 180 degrees opposed to all those things!

Hillary’s causes are too important to just throw under the bus! Hillary isn’t going to be the candidate — it’s up to US to carry her causes forward. A vote for McCain WILL NOT do that!

If BHO supporters truly cared about women’s rights, they wud have been supporting the ONLY candidate who has put women’s AND children’s issues on the forefront her entire adult life. That person is Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I will not support BHO. I don’t know who he is. But, little by little, I am getting to know how he got as far as he has – and, none of it is good. He stepped on the neediest of people to get where he is at. The very people Democrats are supposed to represent. He has allies and friends who are, indeed, of highly questionable character.

I have had enough of Hillary cleaning up after everybody else’s mess: DNC, Obama, Brazile, Dean, Pelosi, media misogynists all made this mess. These cowardly misogynists–women can be misogynists–too, and I think many in positions of power are–are corrupt through and through. They used their positions in the media and politics to shore up an absolutely amoral, incompetent, non-American, UN-American man while relentlessly abusing a qualified, intelligent, compassionate AMERICAN woman. A woman who won the nomination before these cowards stole it.

While I admire Hillary’s devotion to country and party, I vehemently disagree with her endorsement of an adolescent, lazy narcissist. I’m a Democrat for McCain now. Shame on the DNC/media for perpetrating this gross injustice to our democracy.

I watched the PBS coverage and their buzz is that Hillary did not do enough to distance herself from the attacks she made against OBAMA. She told the truth and why will she back down.. I like how clever her speech was when she mentioned why she ran for president.. It made the Obama people nervous.. She enumerated all the issues she is fighting for which Beschloss said was generic. Then after stating all the issues she is fighting for, there was a big leap that Obama will fight for those issues as well… issues Barack can Xerox..

Deval Patrick was flat. I thought he and Obama came from the same mold and same speech writer and same Axelrod.. Soooo flat.

The panel at PBS all agreed that it was a great night with Hillary’s speech a great night because of Hillary and better than yesterday when Michele spoke…

Did you hear Hillary emphasize…proud to be an American… Michele obama listen well and listen good

    • http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/msnbc/sections/news/080820_NBC-WSJ_Released.pdf trixta

Yes, as mentioned above, I think she laid out her core Dem agenda and challenged Obama to make it his own! Of course, he won’t do it, which will only make him look really bad before those demographics that he needs to win over.

  • Dave_Not_For_Obambi

    WOW, what class Hillary showed!!
Nobody can ever come back on her in 2012 and nobody can ever come back on her when Obambi loses this Nov.

I actually had to reach for a Kleenex the speech was so out of the park.

The one Hillary supporter that was crying hit the nail on the head, she basically told the talking heads that the just witnessed a true PRESIDENTIAL speech, I concur 110% Anybody who watched her speech knows she should have been the Democratic in place for POTUS!!

    • http://www.newyorkhoteldeals.us NHYD

No doubt. It’s literally insane for someone who votes for Clinton to vote for McCain after hearing that speech.

      • Steven Mather

Obviously, you lack the training and experience required to make that diagnosis. In fact, you are embarrassingly lacking in psychological training because if you knew even a smidgen about healing, you would avoid coming here to tell people that they are insane if they are a Clinton supporter who was considering voting for McCain. If you had an infintessimal understanding of the deliberative process, you would have allowed Hillary’s message to sink in.

Further, your point is that Clinton and Obama represent the same ideals, which is why it would be insane to vote McCain, if not Clinton. The way you Obots were attacking the Clintons and their supporters through the campaign, however, shows that you do not think Barack and Hillary represent the same ideals.

Finally, you Obots are sure moved by speeches, as we can see throughout this thread. It is easy for me to envision you even more swept up by a little guy with a paint brush moustache in 1931.

I was FUMING during her speech. FUMING over the loss of such a wonderful candidate, a more than qualified candidate. FUMING over what the Democratic Party did to her. I’m just pissed off…all over again. What a loss. Anyone watching that speech, knows in their heart, Hillary should be the nominee and if they don’t, they’re fools.

  • Liberty Belle not for Obama

Any chance the delegates who said they’d switch to Barry now want to vote for her after that speech? I listened to her, watched her, the reaction in the hall, and realized: Hillary is the one who should be nominated, hands down, if the Democrats really want to win this Fall.

Pundits can analyze it anyway they want. She did what she had to do, and the crafting of the speech reminded me just how smart Hill and her team (espec. Bill) really are.

I have no doubt she is available for the next go round.

Hillary gave a great speech – she was PRESIDENTIAL – she was a REAL Democrat – with so much heart – with Democratic values – and she said what she had to about barky.

She did such a good job that even the CNN bobble-heads – the ones who have been BASHING AND TRASHING HER for months and months were bowled over. One of them even said something like, “So now, even if obama loses, no one can point a finger at her.”

So good on you, Hill! And now, when barky has to drop out because he’s not eligible for POTUS under the Constitution of the United States or because he’s indicted for corruption SHE’S the one the Democrats will have to push forward – into the White House!

I’m a Republican so my observations are neccesarily different than most here at NQ.

If I were a Democrat- I would be so furious at the DNC I’d be spitting nails.

Hillary did a terrific job for you all tonight. It was telling that she never mentioned what a great leader Barry would be or that he’s ready to be CIC.

She articulated the values of the Democrat party better than Obama has ever done. But that’s because she’s a Democrat. Barry is a socialist.

One other thing I noticed- she called John McCain her friend. She did not say the same of Obama.

  • TwoTermObama

What a sick, brazen lie. Michelle Obama was interviewed on PBS right before Senator Clinton’s speech and she was EXTREMELY gracious toward the senator. She said Hillary has been very supportive of her personally, that they have talked several times and that Hill has even given her advice on how to protect the kids from the media circus once Obama is elected. You people are fucking sick. Hillary gave an epic speech tonight, the best by far at the convention (though Kucinich’s reminded me wistfully of why he’d be president in a more perfect world) and you all are back here blogging about supposed cat fights between her and Michelle Obama. Just fucking disgusting. This place is more like Fast Times at Ridgemont High than a “political blog.”

Was Michelle Obama “gracious” when she told a large group of people at a fundraiser that since Hillary can’t run her own household, she can’t run the White House?

Was Michelle Obama “gracious” when interviewed and asked if she would support Hillary if Hillary became the nominee, that Michelle Obama said she “would have to think about it”?

Was Michelle Obama “gracious” when in the same interview, she said she would have to “think and look” at Senator Clinton’s “tone”, before deciding to support Hillary if she was the nominee?

As President Clinton said, Give me a break. Michelle Obama’s performance on Monday is one of the biggest fairy tales I have seen. Michelle Obama, using her own words, is downright mean and condescending towards Hillary Clinton.

She’s a big show, a big fake and a big phony just like her husband.

Hillary is a truly gracious, admirable person. Pumas,18-Million, Denver Group, take heart, we are right–Hillary is the superior candidate. Her aura enveloped the convention center tonight with warmth and wisdom and a sense of purpose–you could tell by the conventioners faces that they were absorbed in Hillary’s thoughtful, witty, energizing words of leadership. Hillary made it evident that she already is a winner, and she doesn’t need a medal or the nomination to prove it. (May I learn to carry myself with as much confidence and grace.) Thank God the Democratic Party has the Clintons. As for the election, truth will out, and I have a funny feeling, as Bill Clinton reportedly said today, there are interesting twists and turns ahead.

To use the vernacular, Hillary gave them a spanking. Michelle and her husband don’t have a a tenth of the class of Hillary Clinton. She had to support him, to be magnanimous, complimentary, deferential, and she did so, with style.

As George Stephanopolis said, “Obama has a lot to learn from Hillary.”

Only the Koolaid drinking cult member Obots would think that those of us who watched the DNC fook her over, steal votes from her, disenfranchise people, and promote the inexperienced crook and cocky fraud, would now vote for him.

If Hillary Clinton, my hero, showed up at my door begging me on her hands and knees to vote for BO, I would say NO OBAMA, NEVER, NO WAY, NO HOW, NEVER.

I want only to help him lose.

  • Karen

Listening to Hillary’s speech reminded me of why I sent her money, why I made calls for her, why I canvassed in another state, why I have spent hundreds of hours reading and writing on the internet. BUT, in spite of her pleas for unity, I will never vote for Obama. His use of race-baiting to win the African-American vote before SC is unforgivable. His denigration of Hillary and her supporters is unforgivable. His derision towards President Clinton is unforgivable.

Then there are the issues of experience, judgement, accomplishments. Obama is in no way prepared to be President.

I firmly believe this is the beginning of the end for Obama. The RNC and the 527′s will destroy him and his campaign will soon implode. McCain will win.

BUT, Hillary will be back in 2012, when everyone will realize that they should have supported her in the first place.

  • pal3

At the beginning of Hillary’s speech, it sounds like she was still campaigning.I had hope. I thought she was going say,”Screw Obama..vote for me!” or something to that effect.

  • MJ

The video was first-rate. It made me cry thinking of what the Party and the country is losing by not having Hillary as the nominee. Hillary has the class, the experience, the informed judgment that our country needs at this moment, and the short-sighted and biased Democratic leadership have taken that away from the country by manipulating the nomination process so that their “chosen” candidate came out on top.

Like Larry, the behavior of the Party leaders has truly been disheartening and disappointing. The call to “fall in line” and the continued whines that it’s Hillary’s fault that “unity” is not occurring further my disillousionment. After all, at what point does Obama have to start taking responsibility for his own campaign? to start have to take the onus to put in the effort to gain votes for himself?

Final answer: I couldn’t vote for Obama in the primary and there’s certainly no way I could vote for him in November. He’s dishonest, has no experience that equates to the position he is seeking, has questionable judgment and affiliations, and has spun a story about his life that reaches even greater “fairy tale” proportions with each day.

And we’ll see how many ‘deadenders’ were converted when the numbers are posted…God knows Michelle couldn’t bring barky’s numbers up, he had to rely on a real politician. He sucks.

oh so you don’t change between 60 and 70? so McCain is still the guy that BIDEN wanted as VP for Kerry then, right?

Has he, or hasn’t he, dumbass?

And Hillary knew McCain was just repeating a dumb joke to get a laugh. She is friends with McCain.

Man I have said this before. Michelle just drips hate! She can’t help herself. Our family has been avoiding Dem circles. But we tuned in for Madam President’s speech. OMG..after watching Hillary’s speech..can there be any doubt in anyone’s intelligent mind WHO is the true Presidential candidate????

Her words come deeply from her heart..that is why so many of us feel the affinity..the connection with this woman. So damn different from the empty suit..whose words feels so damned fabricated and hollow..NO HEART IN OBAMA’S WORDS..THAT IS WHY HE WILL LOOSE…AND THAT IS WHY AMERICA WILL LOSE WITHOUT HILLARY

  • Keir

Senator Clinton’s speech was as infuriating as that squat pumpkin orange suit she wore. it made her appear dowdy, old and out of touch, as contrasted by Michele’s youthful, a’LaCamelot wear.

Senator Clinton did what the good, loyal little woman always does; train the young guy, prop him up, do his job and wipe his ass as needed. Women undermine themselves in this way and I hoped she might be different. As pointed out, when men in her position were given the opportunity to speak at a convention, they used it as opportunity for leverage for their own career. And who on earth made that weak tribute to her emphasizing weaknesses? I can’t sing, laugh like a billy goat, not smart enough for NASA but I’m … oh so cute and the girl track music. Excuse me for a sec while I find a vomit bag.

Being loyal, earnest and nice does not mean you get to be Prez; it means you get to make the coffee. I am descended from the early New York feminists who were willing to chain themselves to gates and be imprisoned so that women would have the right to vote. I’m damned if I will applaud Hillary for using inherited privileges and playing nice little woman for the DNC. She is squandering her integrity, intelligence and our loyalty on a corrupt, cry baby Chicago thug.

The reality is Hill didn’t break through the glass ceiling; it kept her (brilliant woman that she is) in her place. If she thinks the traitors of the New Democratic Party will ever give her a fair chance or recognize a democratic process; than that is sadly enough, the fairy tale land Bill was talking about. If she were truly courageous she would have run as an independent.

I have decided to not vote for a President in this election as I refuse to choose between two sexist, corporate dictator selects.

    Signed,
Heartbroken and damned if I will be played…..

    • J. J.. (The P.U.M.A.)

Please do not be mad at Hillary. She did the minimum she had to do to remain viable for 2012. It is up to all of us to make sure that there is not a sitting Democratic President to block her candidacy.

    • CE415

What do we need to do to start a new party, a Centrist Party that believes in fiscal responsibility, ERA, strong defense, social moderation, and following the constitution (and a requirement to vet all candidates). This pretty much covers governance, personal rights, safety, privacy, and most social concerns. Corporate, social and farm welfare are low on this list. Religious mania is private.
      What else are policy goals?

    • HillGirl

Yes, I am heartbroken, too. I am pissed that she didn’t say more. She is 60 years old. She got have the damn votes. She has earned the right to say what she wants – how she wants.

ok, Obama and the DNC have no class AT ALL.

You are not gonna believe this shite!

Former President Bill Clinton’s speech at the Democratic National Convention in Denver Wednesday night will be broadcast on a five-second delay similar to that used to screen callers on talk radio programs, party officials confirmed today.
The five-second delay, customarily used to censor callers who might use profanity or other unacceptable speech on a radio show, has never before been used in the broadcast of a speech by a former President of the United States, experts believe.

“I love the new talking points the trolls got tonight. They are telling us how great Hillary is (as if we don’t already know) and then saying how awful we are to her if we don’t follow her advice to vote for Obama.”

No, what I’m saying is how awful you will be to the COUNTRY — for soldiers in harm’s way, for uninsured people, for unemployed people — if we have 4 more years of failed GOP policies and vote for a candidate who is diametrically opposed to the causes that are Hillary’s life’s work and that she so passionately argued for for the entirety of her campaign (and she has championed as a Senator, where I am honored to say she represents me, a NY resident — and I’m proud to have voted for her twice for the Senate!).

Some of us may be in a fortunate position and feel we can personally weather 4 more disastrous years — but many of our fellow Americans CANNOT!

THAT’S my concern — the COUNTRY, especially those who are suffering badly, not just ME.

you are very correct in your thoughts about them doing harm, when you think of them think of them having dinner parties with ayers and his wife, who wish they had bombed more buildings, think of his mentor rev wright who thinks the people deserved to die on 911, and the daily hate white and hate america speeches, and they brought their daughters to that church, not to learn peace and love but to hate, and promote it, how many times did pflager hold his private and make jokes about clinton in front of all of them and they all stood and cheered..and that is what we know in the open, can you imagine what goes on behind closed doors? think about the fact that obama had a gift handed to him from this mean country of 14 millon dollars, and gave it to resko, so he could scam us, and not give decent affordable housing to the poor in his district, think about the 2 millon dollar home resko helped obama family buy..think about how he treats his brother and family who are poor, he does nothing for them..the man is heartless, his plan is to dismantle the military, take away our rights to bear arms, has voted 3 times, even had a fund raiser for infantcide, partial late term birth abortion, i call it heartless murder, think about how michelle got a big pay raise in the hospital she works at when he got funding sent to them our taxes at work again, and they charge the poor uninsured 3x what the insured pay for services and have no problem sueing them when they cant afford to pay..think about those things and he has only been in the senate for less than 4 yrs, 2 of which he has been campaigning, can you imagine the damage he will do to us ? I can, all these years of fighting for our freedoms and lifestyle will change, and it will be to communism/islam, as he has stated, he will stand with the muslims when the winds turn ugly, guess thats why he remembers his 57 muslim states but cant remember the ones in this country, no dont vote for Obama, and Hillary should be ashamed for asking anyone to

  • old91A10

I don’t trust anything Obama says, under any circumstances. Bush and Petraeus are still in charge of the eventual withdrawal and redeployment, and there are probably plans and political explanations ready for any scenario, including ‘It’s time to go sooner than later.’ Everybody, including Obama and McCain got that message, and it smells like the process might be underway. Bush might even make a surprising move before the election (but, not counting on it). I do not believe that Obama and McCain have magic wands, or believable advantages, or different timetables.

But, I do believe that McCain will be more proactive and respected on issues of torture, detainment, treatment of veterans, deployment and support of the troops.

I’ll allow the House and Senate to take care of the rest, and keep an eye on McCain.

Obama is a sack of shit.

I Love Hillary too but i love my Country more, I”ll vote McCain! Her speeches highlighted the reasons I voted for her and not O it is clear that she makes no voice on how experienced he is, and if he can do what she has worked so hard to do. This speech was sincere, but it only highlighted Os inexperience, All heck is hitting the fan, due to the media scrutinizing Ayers and Obamas relationships on his board, one newsman reading the just released work of Ayres and O stated that O has been dishonest with the American people: more to come, as the media are very alarmed on what they are discovering about this relationship.

Country before Party, why would i support a man who has no conviction to fight for what is right and has a record of very little in doing so, except for a community organizer, and the crap that the Dnc is trying to pass off as good judgment a voice of no is not a record, the record we are now seeing as supporters of democracy are the records of Ayers, fisa, partil live birth abortions, flip flop on oil, if he was really concerned about families, why not take care of his brother George?

Love Hillary and Bill , but will not be one to fall in line, my vote for hill was for the best experienced candidate, so let the Dnc lick their wounds when their candidate falls, and he will fall hard. Hillary I was in it for the best candidate that worked with her heart to do what was best for the American people , there is a reason why, so many are attracted to hillary its becasue she in the deepest of her heart will work for us. and has a record of working both sides , and acknowledging what our concerns were, that she called allot of attention to the houseing , inflation, healthcare and oil, O did not, he tried to pass off her policies as his, well allot of us saw this, and the treatment of Hllary is unexcusable by the Dnc and Obama.

I own my vote as does Hillarys hers, I will not be a silent voet for Obama, i will vote , a stay home vote, a third party vote , a vote for Obama is a nod that it is ok for our Democratic party to select and to stand by the most unexperienced candidate they have ever selected with more and more connections with terrorist and racist friends , and the judgment to remove our nukes to sit with in dialogue, with terrorist for a pat on the shoulder to love Amercia. bann togeter and one voice one vote NObama ever.

Am I the only one who noticed on the great video preceding Hillary’s speech 2 particular songs?

The obvious “American Girl” by Tom Petty but also “Are you gonna go my way?” by Lenny Kravitz. The 2nd song in particular was chosen why? Sounds to me like a message to the delegates.

I sure hope so and I hope the delegates realize that this class act of a woman who received more votes than Nobama should be given the nomination that’s rightfully hers.

  • C Jenkins

What do I think? I think you’re an idiot.

  • Tristan

As for me, I loved her speech, and I loved Warner’s too – he’s my kind of Democrat. But she was the star obviously. I hope she won’t get criticized any more for party disunity after that speech. Now the Dems should recognize that any failure to win over her supporters is all Obama’s fault.

But what Hilary did not do in that speech is convince me that giving illegal aliens drivers licenses, abandoning domestic energy production, pulling out troops from Iraq regardless of conditions, raising taxes in a recession, voting for FISA and Cheney’s energy bill, and meeting with a all of the foreign dictators in the first year of the Presidency is a good idea.

And she definitely didn’t convince me that Obama has any experience or principles or is anything more than a self-promoter with some shady friends. In fact, Michele Obama on Monday made me more distrustful because it was clear to me that she was trying to give herself a makeover and rewrite their life story at the same time. It just wasn’t authentic.

    • http://Q Heather

I’m with you on all your points. The first words out of Bill Krystol’s mouth (on Fox) was how utterly lacking in personal endorsement for Obama Hillary’s speech was. What she said about Obama she could’ve said about any Democrat.

As for Michelle, I found her simpering (little crying sounds underneath the words) repulsive.

      • wry

Oh Heather, you are so right! I HATE when Michelle does that fake weird thing with her voice.

He is an ideological chameleon and will glom on to people he thinks can help him get ahead. This does not make him a bad person. He’s just a typical Chicago pol.

I respectfully disagree that Obama is devoid of principles and lacks an ideological core.

Even if I thought Obama was only a guy surfing the issues to further himself, though, I would still support him over McCain so long as his surfing furthers the agenda I believe in. Mark Warner, Brian Schweitzer, and Hillary Clinton articulated that agenda very clearly tonight. They also spelled out the dangers I fear a McCain presidency would represent.

I’d rather have Hillary for President, but Hillary isn’t one of my options. That certainly doesn’t mean Hillary is stepping off the stage. What Hillary did tonight absolutely guarantees that.

Senator Clinton gave an awesome speech tonight and she almost convinced me to vote for Obama. But I have to remind myself why I can’t. Why? (1)The job is totally beyond his capability…he is way out of his depth. His greed and impatience showed before he had paid his dues or become capable of this job. (2)I am judging him by the company he keeps…Rezko, Ayers, Farrakhan, Auchi, Wright, Pfleger, and probably a lot more that we have not made the connection to yet. In other words his patriotism and his Americanism is suspect. (3)The DNC and the mainstream media gave him a free pass and did not question him enough. I don’t know anything really about him. Which makes me suspicious. Sen. Clinton on the other hand could do nothing good. It was damned if she did and damned if she didn’t. I have been a victim of that kind of treatment from corporate and academic America, but I never thought it possible that that kind of treatment could be visited upon a former first lady and a sitting U.S. Senator. The democrat party is supposed to be the party of the oppressed…but this time they WERE the oppressor and I learned that what they say and what they do are two entirely different things. On paper, John McCain is not a very good choice for me, but B.O. is not a possible choice at all.

Wow, Obama is going to look ridiculous.

DENVER (Reuters) – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos’ National Football League team plays.

Appropriate. Considering his tete-a-tete with Larry Sinclair.

    • Lochos Vestu

Looks like instead of a coronation, Obama is ordering a consecration, beatification, canonization and deitification of himself.

  • OhioMary

Before Obama selected Biden as his VP there was all this talk about how his selection was going to be the first important decision of his presidency and that he “had to get it right.”

How he could have not chosen Hillary was a glaring question tonight as democrats across the nation watched her absolutely splendid, gracious speech.

All of her encouragement for her supporters to support him cannot erase the 20 years he spent in Rev. Wrights church. Her words cannot erase his associations with Fr. Pfleger, Rezco and Ayers.

His ungracious attitude toward her (even though they were rivals) was extremely immature. Even his announcement of his selection of VP had a juvenile flavor by sending out a text message at 3AM.

Nothing she can say can produce any outstanding legislative bills that he has passed or written himself.

I wish I could vote for him, but I cannot in good conscience allow someone with his resume and attitudes and (to me) questionable beliefs, to be entrusted with the presidency of the greatest country on earth.

Sorry Hillary – I am not to blame. The DNC is. They are the ones who gave this nominee to us. They should have listened – they knew what was going on with the caucuses and the rules committee on May 31 and they turned a deaf ear. If he wins, it cannot be with my vote. And it makes me sad.

I will also have to vote for McCain. The DNC cast off the Hillary voters as completely inconsequential and said they can win without us. Michelle herself, stated she would have to “think about” supporting Hillary. Well, I have thought about supporting Obama and come to the conclusion that I really can stomach McCain. He is a man with principles and a history. He knows how to come to the middle. Obama has no history aside from opportunist actions. I missed watching her campaign during the primary. I missed her. She is the best.

That is who the democrat threw away. Because she is a woman?

She, Sen. Clinton has already won my support because of her past work, and her records, and her keeping her promise. I like her.

Being a democrat does not mean that Obama or DNC will get my support or my money. I supported Sen. Hillary Clinton because of what she stand for and what she has done. I can relate to her.

Obama Speech Stage Resembles Ancient Greek TempleAugust 26, 2008

DENVER (Reuters) – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos’ National Football League team plays.

Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington’s Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party’s nomination for president.

He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be raised from beneath the floor.

The show should provide a striking image for the millions of Americans watching on television as Obama delivers a speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination.

Politicians in past elections have typically spoken from the convention site itself, but the Obama campaign liked the idea of having their man speak to a larger, stadium-sized crowd not far from where the Democratic National Convention is being held, at the Denver pro basketball arena.

    ….blah blah blah

LOL…omg…I wonder if he will have a dance crew like at a madonna concert.

I bet he could borrow her giant crystal-ball cross from her last concert tour to drape himself on for a really spectacular entrance where he is lowered from the rafters onto his greek temple as he begins the third act of this great american tragedy if he gets on the phone now.

    • VMorris

Why am I not surprised? BO putting himself on a pedestal.

I’m still pulling for smoke, laser lights and him being lowered from the cieling by wires.

What he wears is irrelevant. Whether its JC Penny, Brooks Brothers or Bijan, its still an empty suit.

        • Keir

I can visualize him dressed in a Cirque du Soleil blue leotard with fishnet stockings and white feather wings that extend…say ten feet on each side of him.

Hoick…hack…blech. NOOOOOOO. That body in a blue leotard…oh god, it burns! Jeez, why not just shove knitting needles in our eyes, less painful.

    • VMorris

He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be raised from beneath the floor.

In the great tradition of Barbra Steisand’s 2000 “Farewell” Concert Tour, at the end of his acceptance speech, a giant pyramid will appear with stars twinkling in the faux night time sky. As Obama ascends the stairs, he will recite passages from Dreams of My Father, and deliver a knockout, grand finale with a fortissimo (ff) rendition of Papa Can You Hear Me?”

I just can’t wait! Can you?

      • wry

Hillary has her hands tied and would lose her delegates if she did not support Obama!! She doesn’t
want to surrender her delegates hoping at Roll-Call
that she will pick up support from super delegates.
Some delegates are very disappointed with Obama’s ratings and it’s already last week in August!!
Obama can’t even close the deal against McCain!!
I think Hillary is only playing the game and pretending to support Obama so the DNC won’t take away her delegates!! “HANG IN THERE, HILLARY”
You still could be the nominee everybody wants!!

    • Keir

Rev Manning talked about Hilary supporters waiting for the Red Sea to part at the convention. Her words were very strong for a pretender although there is nothing wrong with hoping for a miracle. :(

  • Susan1968

The best part about Hillary’s fantastic speech is that the ball’s in Obama’s court.

Obama has 70 days to close the deal.

And I beleive he will drop the ball.

He will lose because of his failings, no one else’s.

And deep in the hearts of the Obama people they know this is true.

Obama was too green to run at this point in time.

He should have kept his promise and NOT run.

Eight years of the Hillary administration would have given him eight years to distinguiah himself as a senator. Then he would have been ready.

But he couldn’t wait. He had to jump in because Dean convinced any Democrat could win this year.

Arrogance is what sunk the Titantic.

    Buh-bye Obama.

I can’t believe how cruel you women are to Michell Obama. I remember doing a paper in school how so many movies in the 70′s, 80′s and 90′s, and still to this day, African Americans are demonized. You all (for the most part) lack any class. For once in your life, get out of the whole Mean Girls mentality (watch the movie, if you don’t know what it’s about) and get over it. You “pumas” pounce but don’t know when to just let it be. Even you know the Republican party puts women down, why vote for McCain? I’m Democrat and so many women in my family and extended family still think they have to be subservient to their husbands even after the husband cheats and beats them. And the wayward women who find your sites pushes them to think that Mr. Barack Obama and Michelle are demons. Great, you women should take a picture together and say, yeah, that’s me. We pal around and make someone (who did nothing at all to you directly) and make them seem like demons.

I don’t go to bubblegum movies, hilgirl, but I’ll be sure to ask my granddaughters. Did you catch the look on Michelle’s face tonight? She strikes me as a mean girl and it has nothing to do with her race. You know she said she “would have to think about it” when someone asked her if she would support Hillary as nominee? That’s not the kind of answer grown-ups give. Look to Hillary if you want a role model. Micelle said she never had white friends in college because she ask for a room apart from them. Read her thesis. If you are white, she wouldn’t have considered you her friend, then take a look at Hillary’s friends and confidants; Maggie Williams, Stephanie Tubbs Jones and Shelia Jackson Lee. All AAs. Think about the church she attended and the things her pastor said. If you are white, she wouldn’t give you the time of day unless you could help her get what she wants.

    • wry

That’s the problem right there “Hil girl”. Most of us here have life experiences to refer to, not “a paper in school” – and we don’t reference “mean girls” to support our point. Isn’t that a Lindsay Lohan movie or something?
You see, we are not “girls”. Many of us haven’t been “girls” for 20, 30 or 40 years.
We don’t mock Michelle because of her race or sex, but because of her selfish, preening, undeserved sense of superiority.

Every expectation I had of Hillary Rodham Clinton was exceeded tonight.

She empowers and inspires in the tradition of great leaders like JFK and FDR; the nation has lost an opportunity to vote for the strongest candidate and the one who stood head and shoulders above the ordinary.

      hil gir, a.k.a. “Race Baiter”
Admit it-it is you who are racist since you support Obama.

The Obama’s new Democratic Party DOES NOT represent the main core values of the Democratic Party. The Obama’s new Democratic Party has become the party of racism, sexism, and discriminates base on age and religion.

Obama is the one who attended a racist church for 20 years. Obama got married in that church and had his children attend and baptized in that church.

Obama is the one who wrote in his autobiography, Dreams of My Father: A Story of Race & Inheritance, “That’s just how white folks will do you.”

Obama is the one who referred to his grandmother as a “typical white person.”

Obama associated with Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, Bill Ayers, Father Michael Pflger and Rashid Khalidi.

Castro, Gaddafi, Kim Jong, Hamas, and Hugo Chavez have all voiced support for Obama.

Obama states he believes in equal pay but pays the women working in his Senate office less than the men working on his staff, according to a Report of the Secretary of the Senate. The opposite is true of John McCain.

It is not a “knee jerk” reaction for Hillary supporters to vote for McCain. Their allegiance is to America before political party.

How could anyone who has allegiance to America or believes in equality for all support Obama?

I hope that Elizabeth Joyce, who spoke to Larry King about the PUMA cause, will not get plastered by the same trollers like David for being brave enough to go on national television and speak before the country about how Obama expects Hillary voters to just fall in line like the Waffen-SS on parade. Hillary made poingant points about how Obama’s healthcare coverage does not go far enough, and how his plan to extricate forces from Iraq is only generalized, and does not go into specifics of drawing down units in an organized fashion during her campaign, yet Obama has not changed his position a single whit. I voted for Hillary in the New York primary primarily because I saw in her a way to change America that is smooth, and that is effective. Obama, as he has shown in victory over Clinton, just expects his positions to be set in stone from the first day he started campaigning, and tramples over the democratic process of the primaries to win a somewhat brokered election. McCain is a joke of a candidate, and completely out of touch with what America has become in the past 8 years, and thinks that old ladies and men who are hard pressed financially to pay their healthcare bills do not need or want Social Security, or that people want to have affordable healthcare. Yet, McCain’s incompetence doesn’t automatically compel me to vote for Obama, who has his own problems that he has to iron out within his platform and his campaign, and he must do so to gain my vote.

  • Bluesky

Obama has shown his “bad judgement” again by selecting Joe Biden. Thats like having John McCain.
Biden is 65 yrs old, been in the Senate 35 yrs and
has had heart problems twice already!! Bad choice, Obama!! That doesn’t sound like “change” to me, thats some of the same old politics!!
“WORDS, JUST WORDS”!! Thats all Obama is, “WORDS”!
The reason Obama’s issues are simular to Hillary’s
is because Obama stole Hillary’s issues from the primaries and “changed” the wording around!!
“NO WAY OBAMA” “VOTE COUNTRY FIRST”

Why is it that when a woman acts gracious about being cheated or bullied she is considered to be “a class act” and that when a man does that he is a wimp? Very intelligent she might be but where is the courage?

Hillary was given a historical opportunity to step out and forward by forming a new party and instead she has collaborated with the coup de DNC. Even if she had lost this time out she wouldn’t have had to sell out her spiritual and moral integrity. The US is in the hands of corporate loan sharkers and we are following in the footsteps of the former USSR.

Millions of Americans are facing destitution, homelessness and death. The same people who don’t have healthcare, jobs or trustfunds You know the subjects no one was willing to talk about except for faker Edwards. And she says what? To play along for four more years until there are no more years left. History asked her to be a heroine and she played politician. Tragic.

    • elise

Keir, I’m going to say this one more time. Hillary Clinton cannot unite this party. Only Obama could have done that and he blew his chance. What if Hillary had refused to speak tonight? What if she had tried to split the party even more by refusing to talk about Obama’s failings? What then? It’s been the same thing for a year and a half. She cannot do what everyone expects of her which is to hand the presidency to Obama. He has to do that on his own. But, why should she destroy her own political future and any chance she has to change things from within the system? She did what she had to do and she did it with grace and dignity. The DNC will never let her be nominated this time around, but with this speech tonight, she has shown the voters what she is made of and they won’t forget. You are just here to criticize and who do you think you are helping?

      • Keir

        Elise,
Let’s talk about reality since you wonder why I am posting. The democratic party is not just split; it’s shattered. The DNC has put forth an illegal election and the democratic process has once again been overturned. You know that “democratic process” the one that generations of Americans have died for. The democracy that allows every citizen to vote and for every vote to be counted. A democracy that does not sanction back room Banana Republic election deals.- The democracy that Hillary Clinton refuses to defend by her willingness to collaborate with the DNC cabal.

There are times in history when people are required to take moral and ethical positions which go beyond self interest. I think Hillary is a brilliant woman and won the nomination and what is happening is a tragedy. However, she has made it clear that she supports an illegal Democratic Party and that her future role in that party is more important to her than principals. Her efforts to exhort us to vote for this vile man is wrong. It’s delusional to think that Hillary will ever be given a fair opportunity to run for President by this elite party. After all she did win the popular vote already. What magical thing is she supposed to do to make things work better next time?

You are presuming to understand why I post and what my motivations might be. I have deep regrets that I will not be able to vote for Hillary Clinton in this election but I am not a fan girl. I believe that democracy itself is more important than any one of us including Senator Clinton. There are many of us who feel that the new Democractic Party must be replaced by a genuine and centrist third party.

You need to ask yourself why you want to silence people with different ideas from your own. Being allowed to have a point of view is an intrinsic part of the democratic process.

    Open letter to Senator Clinton:

    Dear Hillary,

Great speech mi lady. Now I’m really fired up!

Am I gonna now vote for Obama? NO, and HELL NO! I’ll be voting for McCain to ensure Barack O’Racebait loses.

You are right Hillary, this election is bigger than any one person: It is about ruthless and divisive tactics. It is about Obama’s race-baiting. O’Bullshit never would have won the black vote without it, much less the nomination. You had a 2:1 lead in the black vote until he started his ruthless race-baiting, beginning with the scurrilous accusation that you “denigrated Dr. King”. For a white person to be accused of denigrating Dr. King by a black person is like a Jew being accused of killing Christ by a Christian. Without question, this is a breathtaking accusation. Breathtakingly VICIOUS.

Because the Democratic party is the party of inclusiveness, there is no greater an insult than to be called a “RACIST”. Hence, to call someone a racist–UNJUSTLY and DELIBERATELY, is to be downright VICIOUS.

We simply cannot reward such despicable tactics, not just out of principle but also pragmatism for it sets a horrific precedent that any ruthless politician can henceforth race-bait, gender-bait, and character assassinate his way into office.

The GOP is the party of Willie Horton and the Confederate flag. To be called a racist within the GOP is to be complimented, for not all but many of them wear it like a badge of honor. They are the ones who run on racial and ethnic divisions, i.e. Affirmative Action, crime (black crime), guns (black crime), etc., etc., etc. WE DEMOCRATS ARE NOT THE GOP. OBAMA INCESSANTLY USES THEIR DIVISIVE TACTICS. HE DOES NOT BELONG IN OUR PARTY.

This election is bigger than any one person, it is about principle. It is about precedent. It is about the future of American political norms and behaviors, ethics and standards…

    Sincerely,

    A reluctant McCain voter.

P.S. How utterly fitting that the suffragettes are once again betrayed by the abolitionists (champions of civil rights).

Do we want this precedent, which has now devolved into something MUCH MORE MALICIOUS than that of Frederick Douglas’ understandable but brutally pragmatic betrayal of women’s rights, to continue?

Those that are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it.

    • Tony

Is there anything that is not Obama’s fault?

The black vote turned when Bill Clinton started making comments in South Carolina and Hillary’s own gaffe by stating that “Dr King’s dream began to be realised when President Lyndon Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It took a president to get it done.”

Please tell me a specific instance when Obama race-baited

hmmm… her statement isn’t falese. In context around what Obama was saying and acting like he was MLK or JFK… instead of carving his own legacy. He did, but around NH, his Messianic image began to inflate and anything said against him was going to bring the Lions of the Democratic party to his protection.

But no one wants to mention Punjab comments, Blaming Hillary for Bhutto’s assasination and the SC memo distributed before Bill’s “Jesse Jackson won here too..” comment.

Yes, some things were said, but at least call them out on both sides and in context.

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQY_9ZcsjpQ&feature=related%3cbr

      • elise

This is an excerpt from an appearance on PBS Newshour in Jan.,2008. If you don’t know who John Lewis is, you are completely ignorant about the Civil Rights movement and should look him up on Wic.

REP. JOHN LEWIS (D), Georgia: Judy, I knew Martin Luther King, Jr. I marched with him. I worked with him. He played a major role in inspiring people, giving people hope.

I also knew Lyndon Johnson. I was there with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on March 15, 1965, when we watched Lyndon Johnson deliver his speech in response to what was happening in Selma, when he said, “And we shall overcome.”

I looked at Dr. King. He looked at me, and tears came down his eyes. And he said, “We will get the civil rights bill, the voting rights bill passed. We will march from Selma to Montgomery.”

I think there’s been a deliberate, systematic attempt on the part of some people in the Obama camp to really fan the flame of race and really try to distort what Senator Clinton said. I understand and I think most right-thinking people understood what she said.

Martin Luther King, Jr., created the climate, created the environment, but it took a Lyndon Johnson to get the legislation through the Congress.

No one is trying to say Dr. King did little. He did a great deal. He is not crying out from his grave in Atlanta saying, “Defend me.” His legacy doesn’t need any defense.

      • Ai1een

        TONY –
You are 100% WRONG. The race baiting began by Jesse Jackson Jr, on MSNBC’s morning show the morning after Hillary won New Hampshire when he stated that Hillary tears had been RACIST.(?) Jackson, Jr. then went on to ask, “Did she cry for the people of Katrina?” (Funny but Jackson failed to ask “Did Obama?”)

You say “statements” of Bill Clinton…Barack Obama admitted to Tim Russert, when prodded during the Las Vegas debate that the head of his SC campaign made up (bogus) racist statements which the campaign said that the Clintons had made which were proven to be completely contrived and false. These lies were spread throughout SC.

Obama’s campaign then went on to accuse Hillary of being racist when she mentioned LBJ at the very end in part of ONE sentence of her MLK speech. 99.9% had been glowing and reverent about MLK and she made 1 reference to LBJ (who even MLK credited as being a big proponent of civil rights and who did make phone calls, house calls, and even bullied white politicians to get off their cowardly asses and vote for that much deserved piece of legislation) Yet, in true reprehensible fashion indicitive of the Obama campaign, once again Jesse Jackson, Jr.accused Hillary of being racist just b/c she gave a nod to LBJ’s work which had supported the work of MLK.

When Tim Russert showed a LONG clip of Hillary giving this speech and her brief mention of LBJ at the end, he then asked Obama if Hillary’s speech had been at all racist – Obama said, “No – it was NOT.” However, it didn’t matter that her speech HAD NOT BEEN RACIST, because the Obama campaign already done it’s damage by spreading that lie and rumor t/o SC and around the nation.

I dare you right now to list and compare the actions that Obama has contributed to the AA community and then compare it to the list that Bill Clinton has contributed …since he was in HIGH SCHOOL by the way.

I DARE YOU OR ANY OBAMABOT to compare that list and then accuse Bill Clinton of being RACIST. What unmitigated HYPOCRISY!!!!.

btw, You might want to start your list with Obama helping his good friend of 18 YEARS, Tony Rezko get his low income housing deals and leaving the AA tenants(Obama’s own AA constituents) with no heat, roaches crawling everywhere , mice, rats and their feces, no heat & leaking roofs. Obama’s response? “Gee I wish I would have known.” This was in a 5 mile radius of Obama’s home and he never once visited any Rezko housing to actually SEE FOR HIMSELF what he was helping Tony Rezko inflict upon Obama’s OWN constituency. Obama didn’t have the time to visit REZKO PROJECTS, however, Obama DID have the time to take all the bundled money that Tony Rezko “acquired” for him as repayment for Obama getting him his slum housing “deals”.

And don’t forget, amidst the crime and abject poverty of the southside – Obama district – the Obama’s gave less than 1% of their income to CHARITY. We’re not talking dollar amounts here so the “We were paying off school loans” excuse doesn’t work – I’m talking PERCENTAGE of income which is an apples to apples comparison. BTW, the supposedly “racist” Clintons gave 10% of their income- a tithe. The Obama’s didn’t start giving to charity until Obama decided to run for higher office…how “convenient”.

Tell me, where were Obama’s tears and concern for the AA community on the South Side when he was screwing them over for Rezko money? I’ll tell you where – for their votes, but NEVER for their living conditions.

  • Tony

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of rationalization that goes on.

    1) Hillary should be the candidate because Obama will lose in November.
-Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy. I wonder how Hillary would have done if she had won and Obama’s supporters tried to rain on her parade. How would you guys feel then?

    2) Hillary lost because the DNC/Obama stole the primary.
-I still cannot get any one to give me a rational explanation on this. Here are the usual list that are brought up:
-The System was “unfair”: The system was in place before the whole thing began. No one changed the rules half-way through. We had caucasus for years and proportional voting was implement after 2000. What is unfair about that?
-Michigan and Florida: Both Obama and Hillary agreed that they would not count before a single vote was cast. End of story.
-Superdelegates: They did not steal the election, Obama was up by 100+ pledged delegates at the end of the primary season. The Supers just went with the one with more pledged delegate.
-What if Hillary had been up 100+ delegates and the supers went them? Would that be okay?

    3) I am voting for McCain because he is the better candidate.
-He is the better candidate if you proscribed to conservative ideals. He does not believe in a woman’s right to choice, universal healthcare, bringing back the troops, lower taxes for the middle class, and does believe in more money for the wealthy. If that is what you want. . .plz vote for McCain. Oh yeah, he only vote with Bush 95 percent of the time.
-Also, you would rather vote for someone who have proven that he is against everything Hillary is than someone who you believe to be at worse with a central theme?

      I forgot to mention-
In support of your point #1-

UNLESS the Democratic party engages in some really unethical illegal activity in Nov…Yes…Sen Obama will lose.

2 Possible reasons why-Take your pick:

A- There is evidence that Sen Obama may hold dual citizenship- among other things…According to our constitution, a person holding dual citizenship can NOT run for US president.

Several influential blogs are carrying this story but no one in the main stream media is discussing…why?

The public’s attention is being hijacked. This is a legitimate lawsuit –well grounded…

      ***************

B- We can not…We will not vote for a political candidate who has such a shady background-someone who the american public knows next to nothing about EXCEPT what he wants us to know about him as per what he has written in his books???

      http://www.barackbook.com/

Obama facebook-learn about Sen Obama’s personal and professional friends, mentors, associates. This facebook is well-done. Very accurate. Just google any of the names on the facebook and learn more about these people. The facebook entries are well-sourced, welldocumented and they are NOT exaggerations…

      This is VERY frightening…

We do not want any of Sen Obama’s associates getting ANYWHERE near Washington DC…

But based upon his track record-If Sen obama wins in November- all these people will have access to our government, our constitution, our Bill of Rights…

Trust me-for most of us-our decision to not vote ofr Sen Obama is a well thought out decision.

The disparaging way many of the posters above have spoken about Michelle Obama struck a chord with me and really felt very familiar. That’s right, it was the same kinds of things Republicans said about Hillary Clinton back in 1992! The same “She’s a monster” smears, the same “Look at her inhumanity, she’s evil” insults.

I have my doubts about what party most of those commenters really represent, but I have no doubt that Hillary Clinton made it very clear that those who support McCain in November DO NOT have her support.

The world is in a perilous place right now, and George Bush’s America has contributed massively to this instability. The US is virtually bankrupt because of the Republicans mismanagement, and yet there are those who would vote to continue this destructiveness? Look at what incredible damage has been done in the past four years!! To bring four more years of Republican rule to this country is certain destruction of America as the great, shining leader of the world.

This is NOT about Hillary vs Obama, it is about the Democratic party and its ideology vs the Republican party and its ideology. If you support Hillary Clinton and go on to vote for McCain out wounded ego, you DO NOT support the very platform and ideology of Clinton’s campaign. And unfortunately it will be the US (and the rest of the world) that will reap the result of such insanity.

    • HillGirl

I own my vote. I put my country before party every day of the week.

Everyday it is something new with you people. First, it’s the flying uteruses, then it’s you f*ing racists – why aren’t you supporting the piece of sh.. the DNC propped up? Now, it’s defense. You are joking. That is what McCain knows.

There is still a chance that this whole nightmare could end and Hillary will be the nominee. If it turns out that Obama gets the nom, I will not cast my vote for him. He is beyond useless. I have heard the expression “tool” used to describe Bush. At least “tool” implies purpose. Obama is a panderer of the worst kind – he will use people (no matter how downtrodden) to get what he wants.

PS – We’re way past bankrupt. Bush and cronies may have started the spending blitzkreig but the Dems helped.

Obviously you never shared her values and you were only following blindly the pied piper’s piping. Fortunately Hillary knows what she believes in, thinks rationally, and believes that the future of our country is more important than hurt feelings.

By the way, vote for McCain if you want but if McCain wins, Hill’s career is over. You really think she has a valid shot at 2012? There are going to be a lot of jaded Democrats.

  • Peep

My thoughts after her excellent speech was how dumb democrats are and anger yes now, at a Party that robbed me of the choice to vote for a Candidate of Clinton’s quality. M. Obama and Biden looked frightened and peevish their body language early on made them both look like a couple of losers immature until it was about them And Women who have not already engaged and embrace their electoral power need to become the Women Party they can be first, there is no way Clinton was not the better more qualified candidate and the Party rigged the race against her unfairly that’s discrimination oppression in my view. And those supposed women rights groups, those feminist who said THIS WOMEN? You have failed miserably you have permitted men to control you through you reproductive organs a waste.

    • Thinker

      Biden looked frightened

      - He sure did. He looked like a man who knows that he doesn’t deserve the VP slot. His wife looked like she wanted to stand up and say that she was sorry. He really didn’t want to stand up when Hillary mentioned his name because he KNOWS that he and Barack are wrong.

Everyone in that convention must see that they are making a mistake.

  • LBz

With her remarkable, inspiring, poignant speech, she turned me. Made me realize that, as much as I am FOR HER, I am ALSO “in it” for the firefighter, the nurse, the mother struggling with healthcare, etc. But I am also heartbroken that we Democrats have just decided to NOT nominate our ONLY world-class leader, clearly one equal to both that great last Democratic President and that great last Democratic Vice-President.

So I go to the polls in November (baring some really stunning news) prepared to vote for the Democrat on the top line and let the chips fall where they may.

No way, no how, no McCain…but also no real hope.

  • beebop

Voting for 0bama would be rewarding a cheater. I simply cannot do that from a moral stand that is so deeply ingrained in my DNA that it is more fundamental than “D” or “R.” It goes to the very soul of right versus wrong. I loved her speech. I admire her advocacy. I can’t vote against my principles. She will have to decide for herself.

  • CentralMass

    No Way, No How, Nobama!

Senator Hillary Clinton’s speech was first rate. She beat Biden in the early primaries. Why isn’t she the VP?
She had 18 million votes. I was one of only 4.2% of people in my Florida precinct who voted yesterday (we had a primary).I never miss an election. I voted for Hillary last January. She was not selected by the DNC RBC, but she was elected by the democrats of Florida.
Senator Hillary Clinton is the first woman to win a primary. She won lots of primaries.
By skipping Senator Clinton to run with a guy as old as McCain, Sen. Obama showed lack of confidence in his foreign policy experience. Obama did the same as Bush did running with Cheney. Senator Hillary Clinton had that same experience as Sen.Biden and she had 18 million of us who thought so.
I can only think what a terrific team Hillary and Barack would have made and I still can’t imagine why she was overlooked. Sen. Obama did not unify the party by ignoring Senator Clinton.
Yesterday was the the 88th anniversary of women’s right to vote.

    • BrianS

I see people saying Hillary should be the Vice President, but she has stated many times she doesn’t want the job. Let’s be realistic; the VP is a do-nothing job. Hillary has far more influence remaining in the Senate. She will be writing and shaping the legislation Obama will sign into law.

If you could watch her speech last night and still plan to vote McCain, you were never a Hillary supporter in the first place. If you could hear her argument about the big picture, and what a President McCain will mean especially for women, I can’t see how you can still remain on the sidelines, or worse, back McSame.

Every primary leads to hard feelings. On the Republican side, Mitt Romney and McCain in particular had very bitter words. You have to unite because of the bigger picture though, which on the Dem side is healthcare, education, a sane foreign policy, and restructuring the tax code back to the balance we had under Clinton. Experts say McCain’s plan will add $1.4 TRILLION more to our National Debt than Obama’s plan, which is money your kids and grandkids will be stuck paying. We’ll have air they can’t breathe under McCain, worse healthcare, and fewer jobs while the CEO’s get another tax cut and pay raise.

Voting for McCain would be cutting off your nose to spite your face.

      • CentralMass

I nehver did like my nose.

Hillary was brilliant last night. I was so proud as I watched her on TV with my children. She is a hero to me and to so many others. I had tears in my eyes knowing how badly she was treated by the press. Imagine if she were President. Obama still has a long way to earn my respect and vote. He is the one who does not want unity, otherwise he would of picked Hillary to be the VP.
    Way to go Hillary!

  • Serena

No to Obama, I cannot support this person. He is not fit to be President. It was clear last night who our President should be.

  • Steve

What I appreciate is that she didn’t lie to us. She asked us to support Obama on principle – she never once tried to convince us that she liked him, that he was in any way qualified, or that he’d even be a good president. I’ll wait to see who McCain picks as VP, but as of right now I’m wondering if I should just write Hillary’s name in knowing it means throwing my vote away.

  • candymarl

Maybe Hillary was thinking about how publicly trashing Obama could affect the down ticket races. Obama isn’t the only Dem running.

If Hillary had done a Lieberman she would have been hounded out of the party. Heck, for proof, look at how they tried to hound her out of the Presidential race. The Dem party powers, with the help of the MSM/Corporate media, would have tried to destroy her completely.

Once again, she’s damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t.

BTW, 60+ percent of her NY constituents like her and think she’s doing a good job. Maybe she was thinking of them as well.

  • Honcho

Many of the people posting here are insane. Obama cheated? The Party stole the nomination from Hillary? What bitter whining babies. The rest of the conspiracies would make Karl Rove proud. Obama’s “ties” to Ayers??? Give me a break. He served on a Board for a charity organization with Ayers while Ayers was a respected college professor. Obama was a child when Ayers was considered a “radical”. The fake Muslim smear? Give me a break people. Reverend Wright??? Start taping the sermons of any policians preacher/priest/minister/rabbi, and you’ll hear all kinds of wacky things. Go tape Huckabee’s church, and you’ll see people talking in tongues, vomitting out “demons”, and handling snakes. I won’t even get into Romney’s church.

The fact is, many of you have been duped by this clown Larry Johnson, who is a CIA OPERATIVE. He has a clear goal of misleading you people. He wants a President McCain because he was never even a Democrat at all. He’s a shady CIA agent who has been wrong on countless analyses in the past.

Hillary is not the damn women’s movement. The women’s movement is about the issues, not one individual. She was a fine politician, but she lost the primary because she ran a poor campaign and also because she voted for the Iraq War. Some of your have created this idea in your mind of Hillary the perfect candidate, as if she wouldn’t have moved hard to the middle (look at the Clinton track record) once she got the Dem nomination. You’re a fool if you think McCain wouldn’t be smearing the Clintons the same way he’s now smearing Obama. She probably wouldn’t even be tied with McCain at this point.

Stop crying like children and start voting in your economic interests, or you will deserve the 3rd Bush term you get. You’ll deserve all the rights you lose under McCain. You’ll deserve endless war, your children drafted, and a bad economy.

  • tek

I doubt very much any of those people mentioned are sorry they didn’t support Hillary. All the people who support Obama are looking to get a bundle from the public coffers and that’s all they care about. They don’t care about this country and what kind of society we have. I’m including all Obama’s surrogates in the Dem Party–Durbin, Kennedy, Biden, Daschle, Pelosi, Reid, Kerry, Dean, Brazile–all of them. They are all corrupt and that’s why they want a puppet president.

The youth want him because they want illegal drugs legalized (he admits he was a cocaine addict) and they want the border opened so all their drugs can get through. Older Democrats who support him think they’re showing the world how liberal they are and they can’t think critically enough to realize that he’s a Republican in Democrat’s clothing.

    • Honcho

You are a lunatic “tek”. Young people support Obama because they want drugs legalized? Yeah, okay loony. Doesn’t a candidate actually have to promise something to get people to support him for it? Obama has never once talked of legalizing drugs. Maybe those young people are sick of endless war against a non-enemy. Maybe they’re sick of old generations destroying the environment. Maybe they are sick of economic policies that only favor the rich. Maybe they are sick of being spied on without a warrant. Maybe they’re sick of being ignored, or sick of idiots posting on message boards about their support of Obama only being about illegal drugs.

You people are a joke. Your opinions are childish.

  • DancingOpossum

Gargoyles are placed on the outside of bulidings as sentrys to keep demons like MEchelle out.

Heh. My hard-core Republican friend was watching Hill’s speech too, and at one point she texted me, “Wow, Michelle: Jealous much?” The girl can’t help it!!

Beautiful speech. Class act by a sterling, presidential-caliber woman whose bootlacs Obama is not to fit to tie.

All night–watching Warner, and Rendell, and Sweitzer, who was fabulous–and of course the great, great Bill and Hill–I felt desperately sad that I’ve become so alienated from this party that I have loved and cherished for many years. That Clinton delegate from Texas spoke for me (for all of us). It is heartbreaking.

But as Hillary said: We go on. Which to me means:
    *McCain (or McKinney)08
    *Downticket Dems
    *Hillary 2012

    No way. No how. NOBAMA.

    • Thinker

We talked about Meshelle’s jealousy last night.

It was shocking. She doesnt even know how to contain it!! Her evil face said it all.

    Good Morning everyone, :)

I’m still catching up on the comments. I see that the Obama trolls are out in full force, lol.

They hate us, but realize that they can’t win without us. tsk tsk.

Hillary looked beautiful last night. She is a class act.

Obama is a thug, and he will be exposed for the fraud that he is very soon in the mainstream media.

    No way, no how, NObama!!

  • http://www.partyfavorz.net Keith

As for those who have a new found admiration for Hillary; I’m glad that you can see what 18 million of us already knew. At this point, the election is Obama’s to lose. I’ll certainly being towing the line this November, if anything to ensure McCain doesn’t have the option to appoint three more Supreme Court justices.

That being said, if Obama loses don’t come crying that it’s all Hillary’s fault. She’s done her part to unify the party and no doubt will continue to stump for him through the fall. You’ll have no one to blame but yourself. This is not to say that I’m hopeful for failure, because I’m not. Let’s face it; he’s got a lot ground to makeup. His slippage in the poles and his pick for VP (who doesn’t bring anything to the table as far as votes are concerned) is the first of what I’m certain will be many missteps. The next one will be the rock concert atmosphere of his acceptance speech tomorrow night. $100 bet this will turn off the very voters he needs to be reaching out to. Preaching to the choir in a display of pomp and circumstance doesn’t win anyone over, even if Bruce Springsteen is the opening act.

Speaking of Michelle, I cringed at the way she chatted constantly during Gov. of Ohio Ted Strickland’s speech. It was rude, not first-ladylike at all. I could not see Jackie Kennedy doing that. Or Hillary. Gov. Strickland seemed to see the cameras focusing on Michelle yakking (at one point there was a split-screen); he seemed slightly flustered and ended his remarks with an abrupt “Thank you” and left the stage.

I also noticed that Michelle’s bra strap was peeking out during her own speech. And finally, yes, she did look jealous during Hillary’s speech.

Gorgeous homegirl, definitely. First lady???? I DON’T THINK SO

  • ldyoung

The Obamatrons are just WORRIED — as well they should be — because Hillary supporters have not blindly “fallen in line” with the DNCs “chosen one.” Now they are BEHIND in the polls for the first time because when “the one” picked BIDEN as VP, all of the Clinton supporters who had not done so already went flooding over to McCain. And, for once, WORDS are not enough — not Obambi’s, not the Obamatrons, not even our beloved Hillary’s. WORDS are empty now. It’s too late. When Obama supporters could have been gracious and respectful of Hillary and her supporters — when Obambi could have done the same — there were no WORDS. And now any WORDS uttered won’t save them.

I have never liked Hillary Clinton. She is not the person I want to break bread with, share a vacation or any of that fuzzy personal stuff.

My support for her is strictly a personnel decision.

The Presidency requires a person with administrative skills, the ability to pick the right people, a knowledge of how Washington and the various states of the country works, a knowledge of foreign relationsans, above all, utter determination.

She lacks the first requirements, is weak on the second but has the others in spades. Only the Terminator was more determined.

    Obama is just determined.

My acid test is that I can imagine Clinton across the table looking into Putin’s KBG torturer’s eyes with that scrotum-shrinking lizzard stare of hers.

I just can’t picture Obama at the same table.

  • susan

NO STATE RUN MEDIA!!! THIS ISN’T RUSSIA.

I was amazed by Hillary last night.
I have listened to the major networks coverage of her speech today and am astonished that they have begun to pick it apart. She didn’t say this … must mean that…

I could never be as gracious and/or generous in the same situation. She simply amazes me.

HOWEVER, I will not vote for Obama.

My stand is against our STATE RUN TV that has manipulated this election and its outcome. The networks and internet have determined the candidate and not done their duty to properly vet this novice.

He’s still inexperienced, unvetted, crooked, and not ready to lead.

How can America ever have effitive leaders with this kind of rough handed manipulation of cramming an unaccomplished person down our throats just cos they can.

  • Peter

You people are insane; I’m a fan of Sen. Clinton, though I was always a supporter of Obama. Clinton’s vote for the Iraq war is unforgivable. Also her foreign policy views are too hawkish.

That said, she is an amazing politician, who has accomplished a lot- still to vote for the party that slammed her for so many years is insane and stupid – you will cut off your own nose to spite your face. McCain/Palin is a ticket that means more war, more economic unrest, more restrictions on a woman’s right to choose, more restrictions on affirmative action, more blocks on gay rights. If McCain wins, you whiners don’t get to complain then about how sorry ourcountry’s state will be.

    blah –

Hillary is still the right choice to save the DEM party- but you BOTS F**ked it up.

  • Leisa

What she made perfectly clear is that she is a Democrat and believes in the founding principles of the Democratic Party.

Since the principles and governing rules of this party were abused by the DNC leaders in order to install an unelectable nominee, I have every right to decide to vote for different leadership of that party.

Hillary was showing that she is a loyal democrat. She is vouching for the democratic nominee. I do not have the same confidence in Obama that she has. He has to show me what his convictions are. So far, he has not connected with me. He has not earned my trust, and that is something HE must do to get my vote.

To write me off, tell me to get over it and that I will come around is not a way to ask for my vote.

He needs to show me some substance, prove to me that he cares about more than himself and his ambitions and I will consider voting for him. Obama must EARN my vote.
