Greco-Roman Wrestling

You know, sometimes the jokes just write themselves.

Obama’s Temple of Doom Invesco Field stage, which is meant to look superclassy, like the White House or the Lincoln Memorial, and NOT, as suggested by right wingers, racists and dead-enders who have yet to get with the program, a vulgar pagan temple, is such a laughing stock that even Democrats are speaking up, albeit off the record:

Said one Democrat: “This is a disaster of mythical proportions.” Said another: “It’s not enough that he wants to be president — he wants to be Zeus.” Said the first: “Will he send down thunderbolts from the mountain?”

Naturally Republicans can barely contain themselves:

“Tomorrow you’re going to see Obama come down from Olympus to be among us mere mortals,” Michael Steele, the former lieutenant governor of Maryland, told reporters in Denver.

UPDATE (From Larry Johnson): I have the video clip that will be shown before Barack walks out between the Greek columns.

  • roseeriter

I see it as Vulgarity like the MTV Sweet Sixteen Birthday Parties given to the most spolied, brattiest, rude children I’ve ever witnessed in America.

    Disgusts me totally!

  • AMERICAN SAWBUCK

obambi is an Ass and a dangerous deluded one at that!!!!!!! Beware

  • BideNObama

I heard he is trying to recreat the Linco9ln Memorial where MLK gave his speech. Obama is overdoing it. He is Not MLK!! The samething when the MN DEMS tried to use the death of Paul Westone funeral as a political rally

  • Dr. Kate

Obama/Soetoro will simply not be able to give a speech anywhere near the Clinton’s or with any specificity.

This an embarassment for the history books. It feels so disrespectful of the american people that we’re going to vote for some ass that prances around a greek temple.

I hope his poll numbers drop like a stone–never to recover.

What an ass he makes of America. See, this is why the founding fathers insisted that our POTUS have only one loyalty, that he be born in the United STates, and that he be an American citizen, not a citizen of the world.

Heaven help our country avoid this fiasco!

  • Untimely

You got to hand it to him.

AT LEAST he keeps us entertained with his self-absorbtion and narcissistic self-love.

His campaign theme should be Divinyl’s “I touch myself”:

I love myself I want you to love me
When I feel down I want you above me
I search myself I want you to find me
I forget myself I want you to remind me

    I dont want anybody else
When I think about you I touch myself
Ooh I dont want anybody else oh no, oh no, oh no

Youre the one who makes me come running
Youre the sun who makes me shine
When youre around Im always laughing
I want to make you mine

I close my eyes and see you before me
Think I would die if you were to ignore me
A fool could see just how much I adore you
I get down on my knees I do anything for you

    I dont want anybody else
When I think about you I touch myself
Ooh I dont want anybody else
Oh no, oh no, oh no

I want you I dont want anybody else
And when I think about you I touch myself
    Ooh, ooh, oo, oo ahh

I dont want anybody else when I think about you
I touch myself ooh I dont want anybody else
Oh no, oh no, oh no

Obama is making a fool of himself – this will really hurt him.

    OT
Now I would really love for Hillary to be on the ticket with McCain. The reasons:

Hillary looked crushed yesterday. I have never seen her not be able to hide her emotions. I thought she was going to cry several times. How much more can she take?

Hillary and McCain are friends, respect each other, and have worked together to accomplish common goals many times. They obviously have differences on some major issues (the same differences I have with McCain on some issues), but I am putting issues aside for this election unless something changes.
Country and democracy before party and issues for me this year.

It would be the beginning of a new democratic party, which would fully emerge in 4 years. Moderates, Independents, and those who love democracy would be the first to join.

It would devestate Obama and the DNC. I would love to see their faces when they got the news.

It is interesting that McCain is waiting on something to make his final decision. His camp says he has yet to make a final decision.

This is just a little fantasy I have to make me feel like I have a better choice than between not voting and voting for a Repub ticket.

  • CB

When the country is in such dire straits, we need an
FDR, not a “rockstar.” Couldn’t this money have been
better spent? Is this what NOT taking public financing
brings? What deep pockets in the financial industry
are paying for this (and with Biden of Delaware financials), the Dems are getting much more than McCain from Wall St. (Always were, Chicago politics are
    good for business.)

Meanwhile, since the nomination was rigged, how about
refunding our money and each state’s money. It isn’t
cheap to run primaries, pay for ballots and voting. I
won’t forget the time and money I wasted because
there was a selection instead of an election. Hillary was worth every cent and every minute, but not the
corrupt incarnation of what used to be the Democratic Party.

I’m switching to Decline to State after I cast my vote as a Dem for NoBama in November.

  • MrMike

Zeus? I thought he wanted to be Pope next. :)

  • Zaggs

a McCain/Clinton ticket would redefine American politics. It would no longer be about “bases” but people! McCain did though poo-poo the idea on Leno, yet not too long ago he met with fundraisers and Hillary’s brother. That would be a very memorable ticket and would wipe the electoral floor with Barry.
But with realism as it is I think I have to hope for McCain/Lieberman.

  • dcmediagirl

BideNObama: Wellstone’s friends, family and colleagues remembered the Senator, his family and the others who died as a result of that plane crash as they would have wanted to be remembered. If that rubbed some people the wrong way, well, tough. The folks who gathered at the service were there to remember a man who loved mixing it up and never ran from his beliefs. There is no comparison between the Wellstone memorial service and Obama’s absurd Greco-Roman temple stage set. He has made the Democratic party the laughing stock of the world. It’s a question of real versus phony baloney.

  • MrMike

Somebody said that voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. I’m going to sit November out. Some of you have said you will split your ballot to support down ticket Dems. Why? they are in on this too, “just following orders” is not a valid excuse.

  • http://www.greensunshine.net jadwiga

I share this little fantasy of yours.

  • Obama/Biden 2008

So where exactly did all the PUMA money go??

  • BideNObama

    dcmediagirl,

DO you remember when some persons had to apologize for turning it into a political rally. That’s why we lost. Of course we all loved Paul Wellstone. But the media made it out to be a big political rally.

But Obama may over do it tonight if he tries to be MLK with his Lincoln memorial stage.

  • AMERICAN SAWBUCK

    Where are the American Flags??????????????
I am surprised he doesn’t go directly to the UN and give the speech there.
He is so Hitler like with the columns and all It makes me sick and I an eastern born and breed and I get sick over this ..I cannot believe the heartland will go for any of this. It is a joke and not very funny…guess Disneyland was booked..to bad

  • CheatedFLVoter

    McCain/Clinton…Now, that’s change I can believe in.

  • ford

Karl Rove admitted talking to Lieberman, but said it was not to beg him not to run with McCain…hum.

Obamaopolis just seems so American Idol to me it is a HUGE gamble, maybe people will buy it???

I cannot imagine Putin, Thatcher, Blair, Merkel, Brown,..well anyone except maybe the Jamaican government thinking that this would enhance your stature in the world, as a leader.

It looks like a set from Disneyland, we just need to get the 7 dwarfs(pelosi, reid, dean, brazille, kaine, mccaskill, roehm), and snow white (michelle) and the wicked queen….oh you can see where i am going …

I am surprised that it wasn’t taken down today, I really am.

  • J.J.

My PUMA money went to the McCain campaign. I made my first contribution after they released the ad where “Moses” parted the Red Sea and the Obama seal rose from the waters. I figured that advertising like that needed to be supported.

If they come up with another great commercial using the Temple of Obama as a backdrop, I’ll send some more money.

  • http://www.greensunshine.net jadwiga

Lieberman would be just the same hard sell for the republican base as would be Hillary.

I don’t have hopes. I think, it will be the “safe choice”, Romney.

The McCain/Clinton ticket would be however a turning point in politics. It would be a ticket against wingnuts. McCain could win it with Hillary’s supporters and even without the right wing, since Obama would be left with only the left wing.

BTW who would support Obama’s ticket when the experienced leaders are on an other one?

It would be the miracle our country needs.

Too bad, that not McCain nor Hillary would leave their parties.

  • dcmediagirl

BideNObama: As I recall the people who were offended by the rally were Rush Limbaugh, right wing radio talk show hosts, Fox News, Trent Lott, Vin Webber and others of their ilk, who were unlikely to vote Democratic anyway and live to revel in the suffering of others. As for Jesse Ventura getting cranky, his election was an entertaining fluke anyway. Who cares what those idiots think? And who cares how the media characterized it? And those who apologized shouldn’t have done so. They should have told the critics to go screw themselves.

  • beverly leslie

Vulgar is the correct word. I don’t want to criticize too much, scared they might call off the descension and the American people won’t get to see what a complete worthless ass barky and his thugs are.

  • Annie Oakley

Yep, a laughing stock. You know you have screwed the pooch and jumped the shark when your own party is saying this:

“This is a disaster of mythical (haha!) proportions.”

“It’s not enough that he wants to be president — he wants to be Zeus.”

I do think it is a problem that Obama never grew up any where near Kansas. He keeps missing culturally. He’s trying to flatter people into thinking they’re part of some international creative class slaying the bitter old crackers of America. Somehow, even with the press selling it full time, I can’t see this winning an election.

  • Astra14

You were obviously hanging out with my father, that was his favorite line “voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil.” Yet, he still went out and voted.

Maybe that’s why I’m still going out and voting. There’s still more than two candidates running. Why not call the League of Women Voters, get the phone numbers of the other parties running, and learn about there candidates. You may find one that would make a better second choice.

Some people say it’s a throwaway vote, I call my vote for my conscience, and it’s one more vote counted, one less for those who aren’t worth it. Ralph Nader came in third one election because people were disgusted with politics as usual – and it wasn’t as bad as this – the Dems & Reps took notice and for awhile things improved.

Sitting it out is still letting the evil in…that’s why I vote. I don’t want to sit there and not do SOMETHING.

  • Deelee

Are you kidding? Why would he want to be second-in-command?

  • Lin

I’ve been thinking a lot about who it is that actually supports Obama. I know it is a mixed group, just like Clinton supporters, but I see this trend in Austin:

People under 25 (I’m a GEN Xer, myself). They are the adults that grew up not having to EARN anything. They all got stars in school, whether they go an A or a D. They all got trophies in t-ball, whether they won or lost, etc. And even though they are not of Obama’s generation, they have no problem supporting someone who has proven absolutely nothing. Everyone is good enough in their eyes – which is simply not true. People are not equal in their abilities. That is reality. We are given instincts, and they are not being used by these supporters. They have no ability to discern. It’s frightening, really, but they seem to have zero critical thinking skills combined with a whacked-out sense of entitlement. And a hate that comes from where? I don’t know.

The other group? They seem to be 55+ crowd that either didn’t get to participate in the 60s, or really fucked it up during that time and want a *do-over.* They have been hood-winked, IMO, because they so desperately want another MLK or Kennedy (which Obama is not), that they see nothing else.

    These are truly weird times.

  • http://www.greensunshine.net jadwiga

I have sent a little money on 4th of July to McCain to let him know that he has my support against Obama. I sent a little money here and there to Hillary to lower her debt.
Now that I know for sure, that Hillary will not be on any democratic ticket, I will send more to McCain.

  • ford

Maybe he is making a pitch Andrew Lloyd Weber style, and will do some show tunes from Cats, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat…

“I close my eyes, pull back the curtain, to see for certain, what I thought I knew,

and in the east the dawn was breaking and the world was quaking,

    any dream will do.”

  • s. hall

democracy first — I wish that Hillary and McCain could be on the same ticket but as McCain said when he was on Leno the other night. He and Hillary are friends — but you want your VP to share the same vision for this country that you do. The other reason I can’t see it happening is that Hillary and Bill have gone to great lengths to make sure they supported Obama.

I think we now have to be realistic about this election. McCain is the only one who can stop Obama. He appears to be running a great campaign. Finally, Obama will be fully vetted, something the Democrats should have done before now. If Obama looks like a fool tonight blame the Democratic Party. He has split and bankrupted the party for his own self agrandizement. Even Pelosi said others have taken over the Convention. She didn’t have a say in what went on. Obama is crackers. Now its not enough to run for President. He is running for Emperor of the World. It would be funny if the country weren’t in such bad shape and wasn’t crying out for real leadership. Damn the liberal fools.

  • HARP

Will he come down from yhe mountain top with the BLACK THEOLOGY WRITTEN ON TABLETS?

Beginning in 1982, an annual Black Value System – Educational Scholarship in the name of Dr. Byrd was instituted. The first recipient of the Dr. Manford Byrd Award, which is given annually to the man or woman who best exemplifies the Black Value System, was our brother, Dr. Manford Byrd.

These Black Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are gathered. They consist of the following concepts:

    1. Commitment to God. “The God of our weary years” will give us the strength to give up prayerful passivism and become Black Christian Activists, soldiers for Black freedom and the dignity of all humankind.

    2. Commitment to the Black Community. The highest level of achievement for any Black person must be a contribution of strength and continuity of the Black Community.
    3. Commitment to the Black Family. The Black family circle must generate strength, stability and love, despite the uncertainty of externals, because these characteristics are required if the developing person is to withstand warping by our racist competitive society.

Those Blacks who are blessed with membership in a strong family unit must reach out and expand that blessing to the less fortunate.

    4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education. We must forswear anti-intellectualism. Continued survival demands that each Black person be developed to the utmost of his/her mental potential despite the inadequacies of the formal education process. “Real education” fosters understanding of ourselves as well as every aspect of our environment. Also, it develops within us the ability to fashion concepts and tools for better utilization of our resources, and more effective solutions to our problems. Since the majority of Blacks have been denied such learning, Black Education must include elements that produce high school graduates with marketable skills, a trade or qualifications for apprenticeships, or proper preparation for college.

Basic education for all Blacks should include Mathematics, Science, Logic, General Semantics, Participative Politics, Economics and Finance, and the Care and Nurture of Black minds.

    5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence. To the extent that we individually reach for, even strain for excellence, we increase, geometrically, the value and resourcefulness of the Black Community. We must recognize the relativity of one’s best; this year’s best can be bettered next year. Such is the language of growth and development. We must seek to excel in every endeavor.
    6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic. “It is becoming harder to find qualified people to work in Chicago.” Whether this is true or not, it represents one of the many reasons given by businesses and industries for deserting the Chicago area. We must realize that a location with good facilities, adequate transportation and a reputation for producing skilled workers will attract industry. We are in competition with other cities, states and nations for jobs. High productivity must be a goal of the Black workforce.
    7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect. To accomplish anything worthwhile requires self-discipline. We must be a community of self-disciplined persons if we are to actualize and utilize our own human resources, instead of perpetually submitting to exploitation by others. Self-discipline, coupled with a respect for self, will enable each of us to be an instrument of Black Progress and a model for Black Youth.
    8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness.” Classic methodology on control of captives teaches that captors must be able to identify the “talented tenth” of those subjugated, especially those who show promise of providing the kind of leadership that might threaten the captor’s control.

Those so identified are separated from the rest of the people by:

    1. Killing them off directly, and/or fostering a social system that encourages them to kill off one another.
    2. Placing them in concentration camps, and/or structuring an economic environment that induces captive youth to fill the jails and prisons.
    3. Seducing them into a socioeconomic class system which, while training them to earn more dollars, hypnotizes them into believing they are better than others and teaches them to think in terms of “we” and “they” instead of “us.”
    4. So, while it is permissible to chase “middleclassness” with all our might, we must avoid the third separation method – the psychological entrapment of Black “middleclassness.” If we avoid this snare, we will also diminish our “voluntary” contributions to methods A and B. And more importantly, Black people no longer will be deprived of their birthright: the leadership, resourcefulness and example of their own talented persons.

    9. Pledge to Make the Fruits of All Developing and Acquired Skills Available to the Black Community.

    10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions.

    11. Pledge Allegiance to All Black Leadership Who Espouse and Embrace the Black Value System.

    12. Personal Commitment to Embracement of the Black Value System. To measure the worth and validity of all activity in terms of positive contributions to the general welfare of the Black Community and the Advancement of Black People towards freedom.

I saw an article yesterday talking about this very point. The pressure is now on him to give a speech that is greater than that of Hillary’s (’cause she rocked the house!). Thus, the Grecian set. I’m waiting for his campaign to try and spin this thing today. Maybe they’ll say it’s the Lincoln memorial after all…that is, if we all close our eyes and make believe it is. Barry Soetoro will NEVER be in the same league as MLK, only his foolish followers would even think that.

We have more than one party in this country. I know people like to overlook that fact, but we do… The Whigs and Tories used to be political parties in the USA, but I don’t see them running around right now.

The Democratic Party is fractured thanks to Obama, my chosen candidate Hillary Clinton has been betrayed by them, McCain is no better than Bush in my opinion…and I can’t vote for him. That leaves either the Green Party or whichever party Nader is running with right now.

Green Party has gotten people into the Congress and state legislatures – so you can’t write them out.

LMAO, from the NYTimes lead article:

“I’m not aiming for a lot of high rhetoric,” he said Wednesday. “I am much more concerned with communicating how I intend to help middle-class families live their lives.”

Mr. Obama holed up in a Chicago hotel over the weekend, and worked on the address well into the night this week with a small group of aides. He has studied several acceptance speeches, including Bill Clinton’s in 1992, Ronald Reagan’s in 1980 and John F. Kennedy’s in 1960.

    Some aides worried about the setting overwhelming the message. {…}

Peter Gage, one of the Obama planners, said he studied photographs of Kennedy’s speech at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the only other such address to be held in an outdoor stadium in the modern television era.

Mr. Gage said the circular stage in Denver was inspired by Kennedy’s. A Sky Cam above the field will provide bird’s-eye views. Mr. Obama’s family will sit on seats on the floor before him, along with voters from swing states. The goal is to highlight ordinary people, and then mobilize them to work for the campaign.

Since the Lincoln Memorial is SQUARE, the only way this looks like the Lincoln memorial is if you can picture it after:

Bill and Hillary’s speeches focused on the poor and those who are ignored in these bad economic times while Obama focuses on Obama. I hear the speech will end with Obama levitating over his plywood stage designed to look like a Greek Temple while Americans sit in awe of this greatness which came from the Illinois State Senate. Who knew? Why did Americans waste their time voting for people with experience in the past? The superior judgement which Obama displays in his acceptance speech is the way he will run this country. When my state Democratic Party called me to vote for one of the down ticket Democrats I told them how I felt about what went on in this election. I said I am voting for McCain. The man said we would rather you stayed home. They would rather I stayed home then vote Republican–that tells me its to their advantage if people who feel like I do don’t vote. I told the man I WILL VOTE — I ALWAYS VOTE and this time I WILL VOTE REPUBLICAN.

I will not make any kind of statement by staying home but I might make a statement by standing firm and voting against the Democrats this year.

Do you think they’ll ever realize that not everything JFK did was appropriate then or now?

  • bert

GREAT video. Who knew Larry has such a impish sense of humor.

  • s. hall

josey — I am more worried about the future than the past. I don’t know who they’re talking to with all this crap about it being historic. Its also historic that so many people are losing their homes due to the bankruptcy bill that Biden (the ultimate hack) voted for. $4.00 gas his historic too as is this crisis in the Middle East which could blow up into WW 3 if its not handled correctly.

  • DawnelleNOTbuyingIT

    ditto

My REPS here are lucky. They voted against the ONE and didn’t show up at the convention.

    They will keep their jobs.

  • s. hall

sassy — I think its interesting that Pelosi said she had nothing to do with the Convention — OTHERS took her responsibilities from her. Obama is in charge of this mess. Even Nancy couldn’t have made the Party look this foolish. She also admits that the party is not united. DUH

I think he has also studied “Triumph of the Will”

    From wikipedia:

“The film opens with shots of the clouds above the city, and then moves through the clouds to float above the assembling masses below, with the intention of portraying beauty and majesty of the scene. The shadow of Hitler’s plane is visible as it passes over the tiny figures marching below,[3] accompanied by music from Richard Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, which slowly turns into the Horst-Wessel-Lied.”

  • CheatedFLVoter

Oh, but wouldn’t McCain/Clinton be the perfect first ticket for the new “Unity Party”?

  • s. hall

We are condemned to live in interesting times.

  • Patrick Walker

Yeah, as I said before. The parallelism to the leadup to the Iraq War is rather striking.

The media pushed, pushed and pushed the American people into accepting a disasterous policy.

Now, with the same incessant claptrap masquerading as “journalism”, the media is leading the US into another inescapable disaster.

Literally, asking whether or not Obama or McCain should be President is like asking someone if they prefer to be shot or stabbed.

  • s. hall

Karen for Clinton — if this speech is going to go into specifics to aid the Middle Class why does he need to have Bruce Springsteen get him 76,000 people and have a Greek Temple as his background. Doesn’t a speech about specifics lend itself to a slightly more intimate setting? This is Obama’s imitation of another historical leader. Last week it was Lincoln.

This is all about Obama and his wet dream of being King of the World. When the Beatles sang at Yankie Stadium the crowd was so loud they could have sung in jibberish and no one would have noticed. So this is not the atmosphere to hold a serious dialog about the middle class.

  • Postmaster

I bet when Obama takes the stage he will start out with, “I HAVE A DREAM’….if he does, I hope it sinks him and all of the other rats go down with the ship.

  • Astra14

You’re welcome to your vote. I am welcome to my vote, whether we agree or not about the parties and why were are picking our second choices. Which is unfortunately are our second choices. I WILL VOTE – I ALWAYS VOTE. I will not be told to stay home and I’d hate to think anyone is staying home because they feel they have no choice because the other one is against their conscience. There are choices… there are options. They may not have the big $ of the Dems or the Reps, but if it comes down to voting your conscience or staying home – I’d rather vote my conscience.

Ralph Nader was told to drop out the year he came in third – bigger than anyone ever expected. I remember that quite well. It made an impression that year that people have forgotten now. People voted their conscience and it got noticed. I don’t count out third parties because they don’t have the $… you never know what the future holds – especially when one of those big parties is fractured right now.

    THINGS TO WATCH FOR TONIGHT:

    1. Upon arriving at Invesco Field, Obama emerges from backstage to thunderous applause and a cheering crowd.

    2. Obama gives his speech praising his party and campaign for their work in rebuilding America.

    3. Obama also addresses the youth, describing how they must harden themselves and prepare for sacrifice, and declaring that the party and state are one entity.

    4. Finally, Obama reaffirms the primacy of the Democratic Party in America, declaring, “All loyal Americans will become Democrats. Only the best Americans are party leaders!”

    5. The evening then ends with a torchlight parade.

    google ‘triumph of the will’

And to make it worse, he’s NOT a black man. Genetically he’s only half black, by upbringing he is white, culturally he is only fake black. I understand the deep desire to vote for someone because they a black. If it were Colin Powell, I would vote for him purely because he’s black (given that he would be running as a republican). If it were Corey Booker, Mayor of Newark, I’d vote for him no matter what party. If it were a host of other authentic black leaders I’d vote for them. Obama? No way, no how.

  • tommyo77

Well, if it was worth handing his seat over to the Republicans for the last 6 years (and what will be a total of 12 after Franken loses, RCP AVG. Coleman 47%/Franken 41%) to honor him by “mixing it up” at a funeral, so be it but I think preserving his seat for the Dems would have been what he would have wanted even more. I was living in MN when that happened and Mondale went into the funeral with a huge lead and came out of it with a huge loss. The comparison between Obambi and the Wellstone debacle is they both overreached/ing.

I never thought a political convention could offend me. As each hour of this convention has unfolded, it has stormed ahead into the offensive. What has happened to all the “How will this play in Peoria?” experts? Have they all jumped the ship, leaving no life raft behind for the Clintons?

Over the past eight years we’ve watched dumbfounded while a climate of fear, coercion and see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil was cultivated and has become so ingrained, the opposing political party has embraced it. Whether it’s fear or coercion, the Clintons have adopted see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil. Jump on the bus (or faux Grecian theatre), smile, wave and give an Oscar worthy performance of endorsing the DNC’s chosen one.

Did Senator Kerry even read the speech he gave? That speech (and I admit I could only handle listening to a few minutes of it) was so far fetched from reality it was easy to imagine that last night’s speakers were strapped with plastic explosives and told if they didn’t carry out their assigned role in Obama land, they would be detonated into a pink puff of smoke.

President Clinton told us last night “the job of the next president is to rebuild the American dream and restore American leadership in the world.” Tonight Senator Obama is going to tell us the American dream is Ancient Greece. Get your toga from college out of the attic, stock the refrigerator with grapes and olives. That is if you can still afford them on your grocery list. Because Senator Obama is the man for this job, he has the ability to inspire hope and rally us.

If you haven’t drank the inspiring Kool-aid, don’t worry, “Senator Obama is ready to lead America and restore American leadership in the world” with “Joe Biden’s experience and wisdom supporting Barack Obama’s proven understanding, instincts and insights” [please forget that his proven understanding, instincts and insights led him to ACORN, Ayer, Rezko and Rev. Wright], “America will have the national security leadership we need.” Obama is ready to be president, because he’s “ready to honor the oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” If that’s all it takes to be president, there’s a nation of five year olds in their sandboxes as qualified as Senator Obama to be presdent, as long as they choose Senator Biden as their running mate.

President Clinton outlined all the ills and evils the Bush Administration bestowed upon on us. He told us America can do better than that and Barack Obama will do better that. (He failed to add that a goldfish could do a better than the Bush Administration). President Clinton went on to mention everything that is admirable about Senator McCain and said we have to refrain from voting for him because he follows the extreme philosophy of President Reagan that the current president implemented, which has brought all the evils and ills upon us. I was ready to jump on the bus with President Clinton until I remembered that Senator Obama thinks President Reagan is wonderful and has stacked his advisor posse with Reagan’s advisors. If Senator Obama is being advised with President Reagan’s extreme philosophy, how does it follow that Senator McCain’s presidency will be a third term of implementing it? Hmmmmmm… Is President Clinton hoping we don’t connect the dots?

Don’t worry about dots, inexperience and all that Republican nonsense because “Barack Obama is on the right side of history.” And the right side of history according to Senator Obama is Ancient Greece! We’ll have peace and prosperity! Where’s my Obama button and designer cap! I’m ready to make Barack Obama the next president of the United States with President Clinton, Hillary and Chelsea!

Pass the olive oil, please. I need to fill up my gas tank with it so I can drive over to K-Mart, buy a package of Martha Stewart’s sheets to make my toga for tonight.

Wait a second. Ancient Greece. The “Right Side of History.” What happened to Ancient Greece? The ancient Grecians were a great thinker and warrior society who amassed great wealth and built huge palaces. How come the Parthenon is a ruin now? Why did President Clinton mention division and fear and “that America must always be a place called hope?” Maybe I better google Ancient Greece. Oh, oh. Division and fear brought upon war after war after war that buried the Ancient Grecians and left their Grecian theatres in ruins and under Roman rule. But it will all be okay as long as Senator Obama doesn’t ride into his Grecian Theatre tonight in a wooden horse (or Air Force One), “he’ll lead us away from the division and fear of the last eight years back to unity and hope.”

President Clinton’s fingers must be tired from all that finger crossing behind his back during that speech. When the highest praise he gave in his speech went to Senators McCain and Biden, one has to wonder how much fear and coercion was applied to get him to give that speech. He didn’t even have an argument that McCain would continue with Bush’s policies, just an allegation.

The malarkey the DNC is feeding us is surpassing offensive at such a fast pace, I can’t keep up anymore with my astonishment.

I just hope the fall out of this autumn doesn’t have a negative impact on the Clintons after their participation in the re-enactment of the Fall of Ancient Greece.

    ‘triumph of the will’

Ein Volk Ein Reich Ein Obama!

( You’re gonna laugh, but early in the eighties a minority owned tv station started up as Channel 62 in Detroit. They had one advertiser. One. Bird Talk Magazine. They had no money so they ran whatever bottom shelf video they could find.

For a year or so Channel 62 was the only station in the United States running Jess Franco’s bizarro plotted SadistErotica unedited. They couldn’t afford to edit them.

The craziest thing they ran: Leni Riefenstahl’s Triumph of the Will. In original German. So I’d be sitting in Ann Arbor flipping channels late at night, and there’d be these German Soldiers parading across the screen, genuine Nazi propaganda, courtesy of minority owned Channel 62, Detroit.

    Too freakin’ weird.

I noticed the emotion of Hillary and many of her backers.I shed tears too for her and the country. Her eyes were red & teary when she was at the New York delegations and about to announce the acclamation for Obama.
Senator Hillary & President Bill Clinton are overwhelmingly respected & loved by the people of all colors. They have class and it damned the racist card allegation about them.DNC is alive because of the Clintons but WAIT ! someone came in by surprise to remind people that this is HIS PARTY !!! Has it been determined absolutely what will happen when Obama is stripped of his nomination due the October surprises and the realization he is ineligible? Does the nomination turn over to his VP pick or does the nomination turn over to Hillary?
Before the coronation, I’m sure it would be Hillary, but after the coronation, does Biden become his beneficiary in case of disqualification or do the rules divert the nomination back to Hillary since she was the winner of the popular vote and would have won the floor vote if people had known the truth at the time?

I just don’t want to be stuck with biden when the GOP destroys obi’s political future by releasing the truth.
