Whoops He Did It Again

Remember when the pundit class and Obamabots got all pissy over McCain’s Obama/Paris/Britney video? Remember the cries of “unfair” and “racism” and Bob Herbert’s phallic fantasies and the Mandingo references?

Well, the Obama people, demonstrating their arrogance, tone-deafness and desire to keep us all in stitches, have outdone themselves, handing the Republicans what’s known as “a give”. Hell, even the press is overwhelmed by this demonstration of hubris. I wonder how Bob Herbert and the rest of the Obama amen corner will respond to this?

Barack Obama will aim for Mount Olympus when he accepts his party’s nomination atop an enormous, Greek-columned stage – built by the same cheesy set team that put together Britney Spears’ last tour.

      Triple cheated! First, we’ve been cheated out of the best, most capable candidate. It’s important for the whole world, not just for America. Second: I’ve been cheated out of my personal dream, a stellar woman president. (on the way, feminism has been jolted back to years ago) And third; I have been cheated out of the profound joy I should have felt at the nomination of the first black candidate. I was looking forward to that as well. This halfblackman, having rigged the nomination and being an arrogant, empty suit makes it impossible. I just feel flat today.

      I couldn’t care less what he is doing right now.

      Nevertheless, I am wearing orange and tomorrow is another day. Let’s all take a deep breath and get up, tomorrow, and soldier on and reconquer Democracy.

    As I think about it, I believe the DNC knows Obama will lose but they were determined to have a black man. That’s what all the talk was during the primaries about why couldn’t Hillary just get out so she wouldn’t “damage” Obama. They knew they were not going to let her have the nomination no matter what so they just wanted her to quit. I hate the Democratic Party. After the convention coverage I’m thinking about voting a straight Republican ticket.

      lol, not only that, polls are meaningless during and right after a convention-it’s typical to see a bounce. McCain will name his VP and BO will bounce back down to reality after the Greek Tragedy. His minions aren’t based in reality so I can see why they like him and all this stuff.

If there’s anyone out there left who doesn’t see or know that Obama is full of shit and a fraud, then I don’t think there’s anything else that could convince them to see the light.     Hey I don’t really see a thread for this, so sorry about the O/T. I was just wondering if there is any information available yet on the “Whitey” tape, which I have been eagerly anticipating for months now.

    Obama was selected as the candidate, so I guess it’s just a matter of time now until the tape is released and that’ll be the end of him!

    Today would be an awesome day to release it… why not do it right before his speech, that’d sure steal the spotlight from the convention! Or maybe they want to wait til he actually accepts, so I guess it could come out in a couple days. Either way please post link when it’s available!!!!!

    I cannot imagine what the Obama team was thinking with this grandiose staging for the acceptance speech [although I did read this was planned "before" the Berlin, citizen-of-the world debacle].

    It offers a clear shot for McCain to ridicule and underscore the celebrity, ego-driven nature of Obama’s campaign.

    A God impersonation will not play well in Peoria. This “big moment” could be a nose dive for Obama before he gets off the launching pad.

    We need a leader, not an Emperor. The Obama folks fail to realize that.

      My thoughts exactly. This is the Worst possible set-up Obama could have come up with to accept the Democratic nomination; talk about reinforcing McCain’s very effective ads about Obama being a ‘celebrity’ candidate of the media.

      Adding Bon Jovi and Bruce Springstein to the line-up for the night just makes it worse.

      We don’t even need to ‘go there’ vis-a-vis Obama supporters chanting “Obama, Obama” throughout tonight’s proceedings; they’re going to come across as the liberal fringe of the Democratic Party at best and at worst, average Americans will view the ‘love fest’ as nothing short of a messianic type following. This plan should have been scrapped weaks ago and Obama’s lame excuse last night that it’s being held at Mile High Stadium to demonstrate his ‘bottom-up’ approach to politics just isn’t going to sell.

      I agree with the above poster; basically, we’re screwed 2008. The Democrats among us can either vote for a candidate with nadda experience and a cult-like following, write in Hillary’s name knowing that it’s a wasted vote, stay home or vote Republican and hope that McCain curbs some of the excesses of the Bush presidency even though we know McCain is a fiscal conservative, is pro-life, and a military hawk. WE’RE SCREWED Democrats, that’s what makes this all so disappointing and frustrating.

Anyone that voted for this asshole or plans on voting for him deserves exactly what they get. This is just plain sick!!!!!!!!

    This November the only way to stop him is to actually go out and vote for John McCain,because if you stay home, write in Hillary (which believe me I wish could work but never will in a million years) vote for Nader or some other unknown,you might just as well pull the lever for the freaking psych job oblimpass, then go home put your head between your knees and kiss your ass good bye because if he gwts in we are doomed.

    If you think anything else is going to work you you are only fooling yourselves.

    I’m in California and figured my vote for McCranky would just be symbolic but there’s a Public Policy Institute of California’s last poll showing McCain on the rise!

    McCain’s share of the independent vote grew 12 points, to 33 percent, while Obama’s slipped 9 points, to 48 percent. In a state that Hillary Rodham Clinton easily won in the Democratic primary, half of all likely voters said they’re not satisfied with either choice this year.

    Arnold is still popular here (don’t ask me why) and he came out for McCain.

      Regarding Hillary’s win in California, I was floored yesterday when they “passed” during the roll call. When Arkansas threw their votes behind Obama, I saw the writing on the wall and then when Califorinia passed that was the last straw. Had they voted as the constituents did, the delegate count would have been much closer between Hillary and Barack. They couldn’t even give Clinton supporters an inch of a close count, which is in reality what is what it was.

      If they were going to rig it and not vote as the voters voted, they might as well have skipped it. I have no idea why the Democrats even had a primary this year when they. 18 million votes were ignored and thrown away.

      Lord the Obamacratic Party is run by of a bunch of dumb asses. This is why we were stuck with 8 years of Bush and why we stand a good chance of getting McCain elected in ’08.

        I have a strong hunch that the reason California ‘passed’ on the roll call vote is because No One could 441 California delegates to throw their vote to Obama and the PTB didn’t want Clinton to get ahead of Obama in the roll call vote. Arkansas delegates were Clearly arm twisted in throwing their delegate votes away. Also, I watch these roll call votes every year and this is the first time that I’ve seen (in many cases) that the majority of the delegates of several states weren’t even physically in the convention hall. This suggests to me that a lot of Hillary supporters weren’t willing to ‘roll over’ for Obama.

        Also, while it might just be grist from the rumor mill, I’ve read several reports stating that the PTB were going to go through the entire roll call vote but that they were having trouble controlling Hillary delegates. If you watched any of it, you couldn’t help but notice how often Obama delegates started shouting “Yes We Can.” Clearly, they were trying to drown out Hillary delegates’ dissent.

        Finally, I also noticed that with several states, the tally of votes didn’t add up to the actual votes available to a state delegation; obviously, some of the Hillary delegates refused to ‘throw’ their vote to Obama, didn’t want to appear to be going against Hillary’s call for unity so simply didn’t cast their vote at all.

        The entire thing was a complete charade. States where Clinton won overwhelmingly ended up with their delegates giving the huge majority of their delegate votes to Obama. Personally though, I was pleased to see that there was a good core of Hillary delegates who simply refused to vote for Obama. Had the DNC gotten their way, Hillary wouldn’t have gotten Any delegate votes.

      Another Californian here voting for McCain. However, I am so pissed at the Democrats I think the rest of my ticket will be third party and not Democrat.

      Not me, I will vote a straight republican ticket this year. If down ticket democrats did not have enough courage to stand up to the DNC and democratic party elites and say that what the DNC was doing was wrong, they like Obama do not deserve my vote either.

      So Obama set history by becoming the first AA presidential nominee of a major political party. I will also set history as for the first time in my life (little over 67) I will be voting for a republican candidate for president.

      Probably the most positive thing to come out of this debacle for me has been my changing my registration to independent and deciding I will never again belong to a political party. Sort of a nice feeling knowing I no longer need to feel somewhat guilty thinking I need to contribute to the DNC and its associated organizations. From now on I select and support those candidates who I feel are best for the country. Both major parties have adequately demonstrated to me that neither is worthy of my continuing support!

      I think the key fact you note here is that Kennedy, Dean and Jackson didn’t have a chance in hell of winning.

      Hillary did!

      TPTB had to strong-arm the delegates at the convention to throw out the wishes of their constituents to change the playing field so that is appeared as if Hillary had no chance of winning. They rigged the roll call to reduce her delegate count to look more like Kennedy’s and Dean’s level, even though in the REAL Primary, her numbers were far, far better than either of those candidates in their respective primaries. I am sure the fact that Hillary received 18 million votes steamed Scream Dean.

    Well, I kept hoping after June 07 that somehow, under the radar, the superdelegates would come to their senses when the convention vote came and elect the one Democratic candidate who could win the general election. Even as that likelihood recently dwindled with each passing day to nothing, I didn’t let go.

    The time of hope is over. Now is the difficult process of accepting that the junior Senator from Illinois is “our” Democratic nominee for President. Tonight, in the comfort of my home (with the TV off), I will raise a glass in honor of Senator Clinton for the great things she has done and for the great things she could have done as President in 2008.

    Tomorrow is a new day, with new goals and new plans.

    Can anyone tell me how someone gets up to make a speech with the Greek or Roman or whatever columns and the speech is suppose to say “Hey, I’m a regular guy like any average American” but he’s saying this from a stage that looks like he’s Ceasar. I don’t get it, either his followers are as infantile as he is and need someone so desperately to worship or his people really think that by him posing as Caesar that Americans will forget he’s a hack, a zero. Wouldn’t it make more sense to appear in a simple, humble hall or something if you’re trying to convince people you’re middle class. Denial, a parallel universe, I don’t know where these Chicago people are coming from. I think BO is using, I think he’s smoking and snorting his way through this whole thing.
