Graciousness, meet puerility.

You may have seen the following, brand-new McCain ad earlier today in SusanUnPc’s piece. In a political season, no advertisement is without some value to the candidate making it; however, this spot is gracious, noting the historic nature of Obama’s candidacy. McCain congratulates Obama on his nomination.

However, have you heard the response from the Obama campaign? ABCNews talked with David Plouffe over the phone and read the script to him. Here’s his response as reported by ABC.

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe – - who did not know the content of the ad until we read him the script — just told us that the McCain ad is “a very nice gesture. We appreciate that. I wish more of his ads had that tone. But for tonight we appreciate it and will congratulate him next week on his nomination.”

Anyone with class would have said something like, “We appreciate Senator McCain’s words on this important occasion.” But getting a gratuitous dig in just shows how small these people are. It would have cost nothing to be gracious – to also take stock of this event on the anniversary of a very important civil rights speech by MLK and draw attention to that rather than to political “counting coup.”

But that’s not the post-racial, not-politics-as-usual Obama way.

No class, no how, no ‘Bama.

EVEN the gangs on the streets of New York City’s worst ghettos, EVEN the gangsters of Al Capone’s time, EVEN the “villans” of the old west believed in a “fair fight”. EVEN “honor among theives” tells us you don’t do things like “shoot an unarmed man” or take an upper hand that puts your opponent at a great disadvantage.
I work in an inner city school and these kids on the streets, the gang members that threaten neighborhoods, even they have a “code of honor” and “bringing a gun to a knife fight” is the mark of a coward. Someone who knows he doesn’t have the skill, the ability, the experience or a chance of winning a fair fight so he cowardly cheats and dishonors himself, not his opponent by not acknowledging centuries old “rules of engadgment” regardless of whether they be physical or diplomatic. It’s a confession of being a coward and unable to win in a fair fight and is typical of the crooked chicago politics that obama was bred in.

McCain spent valuable campaign money to send a congratulations to his opponent because it marked a significant event in civil rights history in a remarkable way. obi responded with “oh, that was nice, we’ll congratulate him on his nomination too”.
He wasn’t congratulating YOU obama, he was congratulating the fact that on such an important anniversary that MLK’s dream is seeing fruition in that a black man has reached equality in every way by being a candidate for the highest office in the land. MLK’s dream is here and the color of a man’s skin is not a factor in whether he can be elected POTUS or not.

I, myself, would add that he has achieved it in a year and time that only a total moron with lack of any morality or ethics could possibly lose given the party he is in, the party the sitting president is in and the events going on in our world and society right now. Only the worst of the worst could blow this election, and it has nothing to do with the color of his skin.

It is historic for more than just Obama being Kenyan/Indonesian and half American; unfortunately it’s not historically the first time a political party dared to publically steal an election from the Voters and then nomination the loser; that’s happened before. Making that kind of history we can do without.

But it is historically the first time that an unqualified candidate of any color or ethnicity was allowed to steal an election and the first time we didn’t even know the legal name or citizenship of the candidate stealing it.

And it’s the very first time that a would-be king has ever been allowed to claim victory from a Roman-like gladiator coliseum which is the wrong subliminal message to send to a Democracy…much too Hitleresque for this plain and proud American.

I’m still hoping for a McCain/Clinton ticket. I want them to rock the political world and bring democracy and dignity back to the process and the White House.

Now that they have every indignity upon Hillary, I would like to see her get out from under Obama and the DNC.

I have never voted for a Repub for POTUS, or any other office, but McCain is only part Repub and a McCain/Clinton ticket would be Repub in name only. It would be revolutionary.

I have been wondering if McCain has been trying to talk Hillary into it. I think McCain would go for it, but I don’t think Hillary would. That would be sad.

I understand Hillary’s desire to accomplish all that is dear to her in the Senate but the fact is, if Omaba were elected, she’d be toast. Another reason to defeat Obama.

You watch and see if he wins they will try to oust her from her seat. Run anyone they can against her and prop them up. They want the Clintons out of Washington. If you want to see it, the DNC has footage at their site. You have to install two plug ins, but the picture is VERY smooth and clear.

It’s interesting to see the beginning and the end. The middle is pretty typical stuff–sounded more like a stump speech than an acceptance speech.

I wasn’t “lifted up,” I wasn’t “transported,” and I didn’t think it was “Ewwwwwww, so WONDERFUL!”

I just wasn’t … moved.

That set was definitely Over The Top. But then, the company that put it together is the same company that does sets for….

The few minutes I did watch I noticed there were some “supporters” on the stage who didn’t clap during one speaker’s enthusiastic speech. I also noticed there were a number of older people in the crowd as the cameras panned who weren’t smiling or looking all that enthused. It only seemed to be the kids who were eating it up.

Compliments are an expression of esteem, respect, affection and admiration. Your Lord and Master has not earned them so why should we try to deceive the deceiver?

Obviously you have mistaken “politics” with democracy but all is not lost. You can pick up a copy of Democracy for Dummies and try to understand the meaning of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, and the Bill of Rights. Pay particular attention to that part about We the People and that bit about our elected public servants.

It is unforgivable, but not unexpected, that an Indonesian raised male from a police state where women were not equals, didn’t bother to conform to Our Constitution – that’s why our Constitution insists on our executives being native born. I know she backed Obama to keep the approval of the DNC and the zealots, but she lost her political future no matter how you look at it.

If Obama is elected, she’ll lose her influence in the Senate and likely her seat.

If McCain wins with a popular VP, she will not have a chance in 2012.

When the truth about Obama comes out, she will look as bad as the rest who supported him.

I don’t understand her decision. I have a feeling Bill was urging her to take a different route. He is the most political savvy person alive.

I know she was in an almost impossible situation but she has to know the Obama balloon is going to burst big time.

I am a Clinton loyalist, but I think she is going to have to make history other than being the first woman president. Let’s just hope McCain will give her a cabinet position. For those Democrats who are too young to have a proper appreciation of their party’s history, which likely includes most of Senator Obama’s supporters, we direct your attention to a memorable moment in DNC history that shows how the current nominee really is connected to the party’s past as much as its future.

It was forty years ago today that Barack Obama friend and political ally, and unrepentant terrorists, William Ayers was arrested while protesting the DNC proceedings. William Ayers set no bombs that day, but he was only working his way up from petty criminal to domestic terrorist. And of course this was long before Barack Obama and he struck up the friendship that would lead Ayers to launch Obama’s political career at his house.

Still, the McCain campaign would take this opportunity to remind voters that those responsible for the violence in 1968 have since been incorporated into the party they once protested, and have been revered even by the likes of Barack Obama, and this despite the failure, in the case of Ayers, to ever apologize for the violence he committed against the American people.
