This has nothing to do with NQR. But I just found this at stuck on stupid. Jimmy Carter is at it again. Foot in mouth. OMG !!! Can you imagine if one of the Clintons had said this. He called Obama a “black boy” on PBS last night.

    http://stuckon-stupid.com/2008/08/29/jimmy-carter-praises-black-boy-barack-obama/

  • Obama is a bum

Should he call him a white boy instead?

  • Lisa S

McCain picked Palin as VP. Wow – fight is on.

  • JoseyJ

McCain’s Palin pick seems to indicate (partially anyway) that PUMAs are larger than the pundits claim.
Palin will provide a softer touch for the GOP – and distances from BushCo.

  • Jill L

well well … if this is really his pick and not some form of decoy, the PUMA’s may have found themselves a temporary party… !

    Smart move ~
    Happy Birthday, (President) McCain!

  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

sure why not? He is half Caucasian.

It gets so screwy with these racial and skin tone designations. I know some Sicilians who are darker than the Obamessiah.

  • Obama is a bum

I wonder if Palin can handle Biden in a debate.

  • Grail Guardian

Savage Politics is linking to a McCain/Palin website supposedly owned by McCain.

  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

OK I’ll have to find out about Sarah.

I’m disappointed, I wanted Tom Ridge. But McCain had to please the base. I’m prolife and I think Tom Ridge would have been great as Veep and President. But the one issue voters seem to have the GOP in a vise grip.

Sarah Palin, yes that is an out-of-the box choice for McCain and a refreshing addition to the Republican ticket.

  • usaproud

    MCCAIN VP PICK IS PALIN…………………AMAZING…

  • bert

FOX just announced ot is official, that the McCain campaign has chosen Palin.

  • bert

You know as well as I do that had either Clinton used this racially charged term during the primary you and all Obamabots would have been on it like ants on honey. Don’t be an ass as well as being disingenious. It does not suit you.

  • Jill L

    Amazing indeed!!!!

    What a brilliant political move!

She is a former first Runner-up in a Miss Alaska pageant, she won Miss Congeniality . Flies her own plane, hunts moose, mom of 5 (last one born in April with Down Syndrome )

Sure she can handle Biden… she is, after all, a politician.

This story takes the air out of the “ONE”s news coverage… for now.

    I for one, am pleased!

  • ummm

    AHAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

  • vinnie

Mr. hopey dopey talks about change and he picked the one of the oldest plant in the establishment. McCain goes for something completely different. LMAO! Barry, thanks but no thanks. Keep your change and I’ll take candidate Y (thanks for the tip president Clinton).

  • I Will Remember in November

Where are you guys getting the palin pick?

If mccain picked her is was a good choice. Except for being a republican, she is a less mature version od hillary. I have watch her on cnbc talking about energy. She seems very posed and intelligent. Give her another ten years she will be equal in hillarys pose and knowledge. Palin will be strong on economy issues and i understand she has like a 80 % approval rating with alaskans. Also she has a solid family and use to be a point guard on her high school basketball team. She also has a infant with down syndrome.

The downside to the pick no foreign policy creds. If something happens to mccain (he is old) could she step on? Mccaincould resolve that by getting someone like colin powell or hillary (ha ha) to sign on as sec of state.

Can she handle biden in a debate? If mccain and the republicans exploit biden and his son mbna lobbyist ties, biden will be a tame kitten by the time vp debates roll around.

There is still alot of unanswered questions i have about palin but from here it looks like solid pick.

  • ummm

Forget your love of Hillary, and your Democratic principles.

    All women are interchangable.

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!

The mayor of Wasilia bringing the experience we need….

to get her sister’s ex-husband fired.

    HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • John

I didnt think anything in politics could surprise me anymore. I was wrong.

    McCain-Palin 08, Hillary-Whoever 12.

  • CheatedFLVoter

Here Here! Happy Birthday Mr. President!

  • ummm

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

    AHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fred

Palin won a beauty contest and she also took the girls basketball team to a CHAMPIONSHIP…..Go McCain EXCELLENT CHOICE and thanks for showing respect to WOMEN.

    McCain/Palin 08……a ticket I can live with

  • JoseyJ

    WooHoo! very exciting!
And will rev up Repub and Dem women!

  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

Mccain could resolve that by getting someone like colin powell or hillary (ha ha) to sign on as sec of state.

I could see Hillary holding a cabinet seat in a McCain administration. She wouldn’t have to give up her party affiliation to do so.

  • Dan R.

I was hoping for Mitt Romney, but I had always said that if Romney wasn’t the pick, then I hoped it would be either Palin or Kay Bailey Hutchinson. This will peel away a LOT of disaffected Hillary supporters as well as shore up the right wing of the GOP.

    Smart pick, John.

  • ummm

    HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!

    AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

    HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

The people who couldn’t fill a 250 person PUMA convention and pay off Hillary’s debt is supposed to be the target for this pick.

You’ better hope there are enough PUMAs to warrant electing the mayor of Wasilia.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

    AHAHAHHHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

  • Obama is a bum

You are about to see the media rip into Sarah Palin on Obama’s behalf. Remember what they did to Dan Qualye? And the media is so much in the tank for Obama. They just got through ripping Hillary apart and now they will pick up on Palin, she won’t be ready for the onslaught. I hope this finally backfires on the media.

I have never heard Palin talk before, I hope she can handle the pigs in the media.

  • Dan R.

She’s also gonna bring a LOT of the votes that you’d need to win the White House.

Hey, at least one ticket is serious about briging “change” to Washington.

    You’re fucked, Obamabot.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! :-0

  • fred

McCain camp in HONOR of Hillary Clinton we pick Sarah Palin now the glass ceiling is BROKEN.

    Thank You John McCain

  • ummm

    Palin=Ferraro

    AHAHAHAHH!!!HAHAHAH!!!!!

    AAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

  • Obama is a bum

She is probably a better basketball player than Obama and certainly a better person. Obama is the bottom of the barrel.

  • dee4hill

    this is a game changer.

If the obama camp think Palin is inexperience, then Obama certainly is.

  • katmandu

Palin is going to win old man McCain the election. My wife and I have been saying all along he was going to wait and wait, and then pick a female to get the female vote.

    AHA!!!!!! MAC HEARD US!!!!!!!!!!!

I stated some reasons for picking a woman yesterday in this thread!!!!!!! YIPPIE!!!!!!!!

    http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/08/28/tonight-on-nqr-special-convention-coverage-with-patsy-sugar/

I said – It would be a WISE choice. Picking a female who was not Hillary would have hurt ob but it will help Mac. It sends a strong message. It counters the “historic” claim of ob’s AA. It squashes the Dems uterus attacks. The reps won’t balk – they will vote for Mac over bambi no matter who Mac picks. Hillary’s whole campaign has had one year of intense renewal of feminist unity due to the abuse we all witnessed. If not now, when? Was our plea. And it was answered by the GOP not the DNC! I suggested Carly Fiorina, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Sarah Palin, Meg Whitman, Condi Rice etc. and said I could vote for a Republican ticket with a female VP without having to hold my nose.
It would definitely be a media darling news story and it would fill that gap of “all white men” we have suffered under for 232 years. Talk about hitting the Dems with their own error! A woman as VP would be devastating to the party who stole the nomination from a woman in full view of God, the electorate and the world. It would be a bite in Dean’s ass and Pelosi would be forced to see the results of ignoring all the sexism all year. NBC could go on attacking a woman and further reducing their credibility. It is to me the most intelligent choice, and the women they can pick from are great choices and stand strong without the benefits of gender. And I said a win-win with no downside.

GO DONATE HILL FOLKS, show the NOBAMA love to our new president and HISTORIC VP.

    GO MAC and THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

I just saw a pic of her. She’s a pretty good looking lady. She’ll give the ticket some “eye candy” chops.
    ;-)

  • vinnie

do I detect a nervous laugh? Biden…zzz, boring boring boring…not the hopey changey you needed huh?

Sarah, if you can hunt a moose, you gotta know how to kick some *ss!

gotta go donate to McCain now, it’s his bday afterall.

  • katmandu

Really interesting resume. She turned in GOP officials for ethics violations, according to her Wiki entry:

Governor Murkowski appointed Palin Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission,[14] where she served from 2003 to 2004 until resigning in protest over what she called the “lack of ethics” of fellow Alaskan Republican leaders, who ignored her whistleblowing complaints of legal violations and conflicts of interest.[4] After she resigned, she exposed the state Republican party’s chairman, Randy Ruedrich, one of her fellow Oil & Gas commissioners, who was accused of doing work for the party on public time, and supplying a lobbyist with a sensitive e-mail.[15] Palin filed formal complaints against both Ruedrich and former Alaska Attorney General Gregg Renkes, who both resigned; Ruedrich paid a record $12,000 fine.

Her son is about to go to Iraq. She knew she was going to conceive a Down’s Syndrome kid and had the child anyway. She was worked as a commercial fisherman.

She hunts, eats moose hamburger, ice fishes, rides snowmobiles, and owns a float plane.[10][11] Palin holds a lifetime membership with the National Rifle Association.
    She

Read the entry — it’s fascinating:

Highlights of Governor Palin’s tenure include a successful push for an ethics bill, and also shelving pork-barrel projects supported by fellow Republicans. Palin successfully killed the Bridge to Nowhere project that had become a nationwide symbol of wasteful earmark spending.[9][16] “Alaska needs to be self-sufficient, she says, instead of relying heavily on ‘federal dollars,’ as the state does today.”[10]

She has challenged the state’s Republican leaders, helping to launch a campaign by Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell to unseat U.S. Congressman Don Young[17] and publicly challenging Senator Ted Stevens to come clean about the federal investigation into his financial dealings.[9] Fred Barnes of The Weekly Standard praised Palin as a “politician of eye-popping integrity” and referred to her rise as “a great (and rare) story of how adherence to principle—especially to transparency and accountability in government—can produce political success.”[10]

In 2007, Palin had an approval rating often in the 90s.[10] A poll published by Hays Research on July 28, 2008 showed Palin’s approval rating at 80%.
