Anybody Want a Stuffed Unity Jackass? Anybody?

This election cycle has been an eye opener. Many of us long-time Democrats are turning away from the party, some vowing to vote for McCain, for a third party candidate, or not at all.

Why? What is at the bottom of this? No matter how much we like Hillary, we would have accepted her defeat – had the process been democratic.

I think many readers here at NQ instinctively realize that the Democratic party no longer exists in the way we understood it. Some saw this already; but for many of us, it only became clear when we watched the perversion of the primary process this year. Hillary was a great candidate, but she also became a lens through which we finally saw what the Democratic party was doing. And how it operates.

Read the rest ->
A conversation on Bill Moyer’s Journal between Moyers and author Andrew Bachevich, makes a very interesting point about both the Republican and Democratic parties. (You can also download the interview in video or audio free from iTunes, and it’s worth the time.)

Emphasis – mine.

ANDREW BACEVICH: One of the great lies about American politics is that Democrats genuinely subscribe to a set of core convictions that make Democrats different from Republicans. And the same thing, of course, applies to the other party. It’s not true. I happen to define myself as a conservative.

Well, what do conservatives say they stand for? Well, conservatives say they stand for balanced budgets. Small government. The so called traditional values.

Well, when you look back over the past 30 or so years, since the rise of Ronald Reagan, which we, in many respects, has been a conservative era in American politics, well, did we get small government?

Do we get balanced budgets? Do we get serious as opposed to simply rhetorical attention to traditional social values? The answer’s no. Because all of that really has simply been part of a package of tactics that Republicans have employed to get elected and to – and then to stay in office.

BILL MOYERS: And, yet, you say that the prime example of political dysfunction today is the Democratic Party in relation to Iraq.

ANDREW BACEVICH: Well, I may be a conservative, but I can assure you that, in November of 2006, I voted for every Democrat I could possibly come close to. And I did because the Democratic Party, speaking with one voice, at that time, said that, “Elect us. Give us power in the Congress, and we will end the Iraq War.”

And the American people, at that point, adamantly tired of this war, gave power to the Democrats in Congress. And they absolutely, totally, completely failed to follow through on their commitment. Now, there was a lot of posturing. But, really, the record of the Democratic Congress over the past two years has been – one in which, substantively, all they have done is to appropriate the additional money that enables President Bush to continue that war.

BILL MOYERS: And you say the promises of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi prove to be empty. Reid and Pelosi’s commitment to forcing a change in policy took a backseat to their concern to protect the Democratic majority.

ANDREW BACEVICH: Could anybody disagree with that?

The idea that struck me was the part about “one of the great lies about American politics is that Democrats genuinely subscribe to a set of core convictions that make Democrats different from Republicans.”

The parties sell themselves to voters on the basis of those “core convictions.” We pick the values we like and join up. But believing in a political party’s “core convictions” is a sucker bet.

Many of us here at NQ have watched Obama as an individual and the Democratic party as a whole not represent the “core values” of the party – in issues of fairness, respect for others, transparency, for example. Collectively and individually, we’ve witnessed race-baiting, misogyny, misapplication of rulz, and manufactured delegate counts that bear no resemblance to any democratic process. A candidate emerging from such a process cannot then turn around and represent those “core values” with any credibility.

The Democratic party has no values other than staying in power. Equal rights for women became unequal pay in the Obama campaign and an organized effort to get a strong female candidate to leave the race early. Support for the LGBT community morphed into Obama not having a picture taken with the mayor of San Francisco and the effort to remove a gay state legislator in Alabama. Ending the war turned into talking mean, funding it anyway and a candidate who can’t be bothered to visit troops. Holding the Bush administration to account turned into taking impeachment off the table and holding hearings, instead, on baseball. Post-racial politics became a 20+ year association with the likes of Rev. “God-damn-America” Wright and Father “There was a whole lot of white people crying” Pfleger. Protecting America to this group includes a long friendship with an unrepentant domestic terrorist, support from a shadowy former Iraqi minister with lots of money and the suggestion of a “domestic security force.” Respect for all people became calling people racist for not supporting Obama and destroying the reputation of a popular Democratic former President.

Who are these people? What do they believe in? You know, I don’t care. They won’t tell me the truth anyway, and I don’t trust them. Any moral authority the party enjoyed as a result of its “core values” is long gone. This is not the Democratic party I used to know, and I’ve outgrown them.

Just read somewhere that these moronic barrybots are now saying that since McCain took a gamble in picking Palin, we have to ask ourselves if we want a “gambler” as our POTUS. LMAO!

        • socalannie

ick. ee is one of the foulest trolls we’ve had around here. You should’ve seen him last nite. To call him a troll is an insult to trolls.

She was very complimentary about Hillary and Geraldine Ferraro. I know it made me feel good as a disappointed Hillary supporter. More good strategy from McCain. He knows the Left dissed Ferraro and Hillary so he has Sarah compliment them, or maybe she did herself because she genuinely appreciates their accomplishments. It’s bizarre to see the Dems going ballistic over a woman candidate when they’ve spent the last 8 years bashing the Republicans for being sexist.

IMO, all you have to do is read the headlines today to KNOW that Obama is the corporate shill. There’s actually an MSM headline saying that presidential scholars (one of them was on the faculty at SLU Law school when my husband taught there–the guy is a lawyer not a historian) have concluded that Palin is the most inexperienced VP ever. They’re trying to scare people that if she got in the WH she’s be unable to run the country.

Obama had only been in the Senate one year when he announced he was running for prez and he’s been campaigning ever since then–not gaining experience. He’s running for PRESIDENT! At least Palin has run a whole entity all by herself, unlike Obama who’s only a freshman senator.

What’s galling is how biased the media is in this country.

      • AnninCA

I am sticking to my own decision months ago. I’m no longer a “Democrat.”

        I’m a citizen.

I’ll vote for Dems or Repubs….just as Sarah said, who put the country first.

I’m done with this severe partisanship.

        • CheapEmptySuit

Please be advised. Think carefully. The GE will be gamed by Obama.
If you cast a ballot and leave president empty, your ballot will be counted for Obama for president. Do you want this? If you do not cast a vote and are a Democrat, your non vote will count for Obama as they go down the list of people who didn’t vote and count them for Obama. They did this in the primaries. URGENT! Obama is a threat to national security and the constitution. Voting for Mccain is not all that bad. He will protect the country and we can sleep at night. We will get a whole new administration and perhaps ward off corruption. I am a staunch Dem who has never voted for a Republican, but will vote Mccain and am not shy of saying. We must stop this country from becoming a dictatorship and we must vote against Obama to protect the country and our kids. I’m tired of Hill supporters saying they won’t vote Mccain and they’ll sit this out. Call your election officials after the GE and find that your name cast a vote for Obama. This is serious. He hasn’t won any election ever. He stole his way to the top. He will do it again in the GE. He may not succeed if we have enough votes to offset his stolen votes. Think! Our country is at stake.

      • http://www.greensunshine.net jadwiga

Is Palin too inexperienced for VP?

Why is than Obama experience enough for president? Is that because he is a man or because he is black?

Good one Lisa. I always enjoy your thoughtful and straighforward reads. You took the words right out of our mouths on this one.

    • Caya

      What a good read!
It reminded me of something, I saw a movie on Google video called SPIN and they mention how before the election back when, Al Gore was Pro-Life & Bush Sr was actually Pro-Choice, but they changed obviously for political reasons. It was a really good watch.

      • Susan

I must be old – because I remember when Papa Bush was a pro-choice moderate. I didn’t realize that Gore was once pro-life, though.

I am not a Republican but I will be on the look out for the misogyny/sexist machine that they employ… I hope that they stick to the issues of the ‘real campaign’ and what matters.

  • JKFriz

So: your contention is that Obama is “not liberal enough”, am I right, Lisa?

I can never figure out from reading these posts if he’s a closet Republican or a socialist-in-sheep’s clothing. Can you enlighten me?

    • POdVet

      Obama in a word….CRIMINAL!
Thank you for your attention, I believe that is enough explanation on why most of us will be happily voting against the anointed one.

        • tek

Obama is no. 2. Bill Clinton was total small “d” democrat. That’s why the repugs and the far left hate him.

    • AngryWhitePerson

I’ll make it clear for you fuckface, JKFriz. Obama is BOTH because he is NEITHER. He has no convictions, stands for nothing and does nothing for noone. He panders and promotes whatever trend is in that hour.

The O’bots who come to this website are insecure whining dickheads like you who rage and scream and threaten others for not being “true Democrats.” You, like the other batshit crazy O’bots, try to paint everyone who doesn’t agree with them as rightwing nutjobs as opposed to just being decent Americans who actually give a shit about their country.

Bots like you probably also cling to The Secret, ignoring problems while wishing things would work out without a damn clue as to how to achieve their goals. Unlike you, Noquarter’s posters are pragmatists, the type who, when they see a problem, set about to fixing it, not philsophizing or going to sleep or sticking their head up their ass or in the sand.

      • JKFriz

Wow. You’re, um, true to your username. How can you expect anyone to buy into your claims that other people are “batshit crazy” when you come out frothing at the mouth?

And actually, I AM a pragmatist. I don’t want our government to screw over poor people and the environment; I’ll vote for the candidate who seems LEAST like he’s going to do that.

        • AngryWhitePerson

You are an asshole in plain sight, JKFriz. I don’t need to convince anyone of your craziness. But if you were paying any attention at all during the primary season, you would know why I chose my username.

Obama screws over poor people in his own district, you think he has anyone’s interests at heart but his own??? BOTS decided to vote for a marketed product rather than a leader. You wouldn’t have to vote for the “lesser of two evils” this November if BOTS weren’t such mindless arrogant drones.

By the way, I don’t give a shit what anyone thinks of me. Unlike your messiah, I don’t live for adulation and compliments.

          • JKFriz

When it is directed at a troll like you, no.

            • Fred

Personal abuse? I think you are abusing yourself, unless of course that minimum wage Obama is paying you to post here is paying for your hope and change.

I don’t believe we will ever have offshore drilling. I do believe we need to address global warming and go green and McCain is totally on board with that. I don’t see a lot of danger is voting for McCAin/Palin. We will have a Democratic Congress and it would be good to have a Republican president. We’ve seen what happens when every branch of the federal government is controlled by the same party.

I’m still trying to figure out why Obamabots were signing up people(not from Denver) to register to vote in that state during the convention. And why were the voter registries being sent to MoveOn.org?

        • Fred

Sounds like gaming the system, maybe? Nahh, Obama wouldn’t do that. Then again, no one really knows what Obama does, since he doesn’t even know himself.

          • Ferdberfle

hen again, no one really knows what Obama does, since he doesn’t even know himself.

That and the fact that everything is so secretive, rather like the current occupant of the WH.

        • Ferdberfle

And why were the voter registries being sent to MoveOn.org?

Maybe because people did just what the name says and moved on. They need new members, perhaps.

That is an organization looking for a cause, any cause to make them relevant again.

  • http://NoteToSelfDontDie.com/members/ gerard nedich

there will always be people who hide behind a party…

they thrive and revel in the status quo…

    the corruption…

then you have true mavericks that put their country first… they stand up for beliefs… they fight and wrangle with THEIR party…

they are the kind of people we need in washington…

its not so much the 2 party system is broken… its that the politicians are corrupt…

we must make a stand and give the mavricks and the reformers our votes… otherwise they will eventually sink into the swamp of their party… republican or democrat…

i believe hillary was pushed out and had her votes stolen, we had our votes stolen because the corrupt politicians knew that she would not stoop to their level and would not play their corrupt game… Hillary put americans first…

i believe that by supporting Mccain we are also supporting the spirit of Hillary…

It will send a clear message to the criminals that we won’t allow them to steal our democracy…

Why is she being compared to Obama? Here we go again…trash and burn! Trashing the ‘mom’ of a soldier in combat in Iraq is not going to bode well with the American people…and especially the working class folks that he has already pushed aside.

      • Joy

I believe the Beautiful O’s two daughters are a tad bit young to enlist. If I recall McCain has two? children in the military and Biden has one so I’d lay off the fact O’s kids aren’t in the service and be proud of the four children who are.

        • Hope

Who said anything about ‘the beautiful O’s'(that’s a little wierd, btw) daughters not enlisting in the military?
They are children. The lack of depth you show when pointing out the extremely obvious is indicative of those who would support without question a terrorist appeasing criminal for your president.

Don’t look behind the curtain, Dorothy.

          • Joy

Hopey, she compares the Beautiful O to Palin and then says Palin has a son in Iraq. Well so does McCain and Biden but she ignores that.

            • Ferdberfle

Well so does McCain and Biden but she ignores that.

She wasn’t talking about McCain or Biden. Jeebus, you bots certainly will use every diversion in your Obamabot toolkit (TM) to change the subject at hand.

Not reading the entire thread is the hallmark of an obamabot.

              • Joy

Ferbyfly, I voted for Hillary in my state’s primary and caucus so no bot here. But Voting Woman goes into the “why Palin can’t be attacked because she has a son in Iraq crap but leaves out McCain and Biden’s sons.” I guess its fine to attack the Beautiful O cause his daughters aren’t in Iraq.

Can we attack McCain and Biden because they are fathers with sons in Iraq or will be there shortly? The fact Palin has a son on his way to Iraq in no way impacts how I view her and her politics.

                • Ferdberfle

The fact Palin has a son on his way to Iraq in no way impacts how I view her and her politics.

Joyless: I frankly don’t care what those voices in your pinhead are telling you. My original point was to remind you that your constant use of diversion to change a subject, that you are either uncomfortable with or are ignorant of, is something that you will be called on each and every time you do it.

And the fact that Palin has a son there means that she has a vested interest in making sure the soldiers get the very best so long as they have to be there. So if that doesn’t mean anything to you, then you are one stupid bag of hammers.

                  • Joy

Ferbo, I sure hope she has a vested interest in making sure our soldiers get the best of waht they need because that has not been the practice of many in her Republican party.

I honor her son’s service but that is not a reason to vote for her. Also, why do try to insult posters you don’t agree with? It just reflects poorly on you.

Talk Left has a bio up of the one justice Sarah Palin has appointed to the state supreme court. It’s a straightforward resume, and includes this interesing piece:
    http://www.talkleft.com/story/2008/8/30/144957/082

In 2006, Winfree was hired as general counsel and executive director for the Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation. He has worked tirelessly to provide free legal services to Alaskans in need, and was a driving force in a four-year, 200-case effort to recover federal funds lost to physically and mentally disabled Alaskans in the bankruptcy of a Fairbanks service organization.

I’m sure the Kossacks will find something objectionable in that.

    • Joe Biden’s hair plugs speak out!

I’ve advocated for a disabled relative for some time, and seen firsthand how funds are stolen from a vulnerable population. However I’m not aware of any serious effort on my state’s part to make restitution to those afflicted individuals.

This is a good indication of where Palin’s priorities lie.

  • Hilgirl

    shoulda figured

The Debtor, Rowanoak Corporation, was incorporated in July 1994 by its president and sole shareholder, Darragh Murphy. Rowanoak did business as a general contractor of construction projects, primarily with the City of Boston. Rowanoak performed virtually no labor on its contracts. Instead, Rowanoak, whose only full-time employee and officer was Murphy, hired subcontractors and occasional part-time labor to perform the labor on its projects.
On January 8, 1999, Rowanoak filed a voluntary petition for Chapter 7 relief. During the course of the bankruptcy proceeding, the Trustee requested that Rowanoak turn over all of its books and records, as well as its canceled checks and bank statements. In response, Rowanoak turned over only canceled checks and bank statements. In reviewing these documents, the Trustee discovered that from March 5, 1997, through May 20, 1997, Rowanoak made six payments from its bank account to Murphy’s mother, Ann Walsh. The checks totaled $63,344.

Uncertain about the basis for these checks, the Trustee filed a motion to compel Rowanoak to turn over other books and records to the Trustee. In response to the motion, Murphy, as president of Rowanoak, filed an affidavit stating that Rowanoak “did not maintain any books and records with respect to the financial operations of the corporation,” and did “not have any documents in its possession, custody or control that are relevant to payments made by the Debtor to Ann Walsh.” The Trustee subsequently commenced an adversary proceeding against Walsh to avoid and recover the payments as fraudulent pursuant to Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 109A, 5 and 6(a). In response, Walsh claimed the checks represented payments on various pre-petition loans made by Walsh to Rowanoak.

    OSEPH BRAUNSTEIN, CHAPTER 7 TRUSTEE
FOR THE ESTATE OF ROWANOAK CORPORATION,

    Appellant,

    v.

    ANN WALSH,

    Appellee.

    3. The six checks were as follows: (1) check number 1235 dated March 5 for $12,000; (2) check number 1237 dated March 6 for $14,000; (3) check number 1282 dated March 21 for $10,000; (4) check number 1306 dated April 7 for $18,244; (5) check number 1308 dated April 7 for $4,100; and (6) check number 1371 dated May 20 for $5,000.
    —-
Having affirmed the bankruptcy court on all issues pertaining to its finding Rowanoak’s transfers to Walsh were fraudulent under Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 109A, 5, we need not discuss the bankruptcy court’s finding that Rowanoak’s transfers to Walsh also were fraudulent under 6(a). (7) For the reasons stated, we conclude the district court erred in reversing the bankruptcy court. Accordingly, the judgment of the district court is REVERSED.

7.In reversing the bankruptcy court, the district court appeared to confuse the elements of claims under these two sections. The district court incorrectly identified the bankruptcy court’s finding that the payments to Walsh rendered Rowanoak insolvent as an element of a 5 claim. But this finding goes to the Trustee’s claim under 6(a). See Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 109a, 6 (transfer is fraudulent under 6(a) “if the debtor made the transfer or incurred the obligation without receiving a reasonably equivalent value in exchange for the transfer or obligation and . . . the debtor became insolvent as a result of the transfer or obligation.”). Even if the bankruptcy court’s finding that Rowanoak’s payments to Walsh rendered Rowanoak insolvent was clearly erroneous, Walsh still must reimburse the payments as fraudulent transfers under 5.

The Obama DEMS made a mockery of ‘make every vote count’ the mantra we heard constantly after the Gore and Kerry voter fraud by the Republicans only to do the same thing in the caucuses and at the RBC DNC meeting in May. The misogyny the race card, sexism, pandering to the AAs and kid votes just to GROW the party for their own selfish monetary gains, all hypocritical of what I use to think was the Democratic Party.

After watching Pelosi opearate and not bring impeachment up I see her as just another CORPORATE owned LIAR and traitor of women’s rights. She dissed Hillary and 18million voters and I find her actions almost as despicable as Obama’s background.

Moyers is a real journalist. Too bad he’s almost alone.

    • tek

Please. Bill Moyers is TOTALLY in the tank for Obama. During the primary season, he had an episode to discuss what the candidates would do with Supreme Court appointments. Hillary was still strongly in the running. He DID NOT EVEN INVITE HER OR MENTION HER AS A CANDIDATE. He interviewed McCain and Obama and acted as if Hillary was not in the race, because he didn’t want her to be. It’s worse than Obama “brushing her off his shoulder.”

Then in last nights’ program, he said that he’s excited about Obama because Obama can “transcend” racism and BRING BACK THE CLINTON POLICIES. What a HYPOCRITE!!! These people want the Clinton administration without the Clintons. I can’t stand Bill Moyers now.

Hillary Clinton is the most admirable woman I have ever had the pleasure of encountering in my life. I have met others who were cut from the same cloth, although not famous, most were teachers who helped shape my life. The honest, integrity, morality and humanity that she possesses makes her greater than anyone in the obama campaign could ever hope, dream or aspire to be, the pure audacity of it is humorous. A better title for obama’s book would have been “The Audacity of Lies” or “The Audacity of Hoping they don’t find the Lies”.
Sarah Palin strikes me as a woman who walks the path that Hillary walked. Just as the other strong women in my life, she holds tight to her morals, her integrity, her honesty and to her humanity. If she hasn’t fooled me due to the heartbreak of seeing what was done to Hillary and really is the woman I think I see and hope I see (and I really believe she is), she will vindicate the atrocities in our minds, she will finish shattering the glass ceiling and she will be the Vice President of the United States.

  • Mr. Natural

Collectively and individually, we’ve witnessed race-baiting, misogyny, misapplication of rulz, and manufactured delegate counts that bear no resemblance to any democratic process. A candidate emerging from such a process cannot then turn around and represent those “core values” with any credibility.

    From Barack’s acceptance speech:

That’s the promise of America – the idea that we are responsible for ourselves, but that we also rise or fall as one nation; the fundamental belief that I am my brother’s keeper; I am my sister’s keeper.

    Quote from Barach’s brother

“No-one knows who I am,” he told the magazine, before claiming: “I live here on less than a dollar a month.”

I called the Barack HQ today and told them that I would like to get the mailing address of Barack’s brother so I can send him $100 since his own brother won’t help him out.

I am a Republican, and I have to tell you….I am still shocked about the Palin pick. I’m very glad that McCain promoted a woman. I’m ecstatic! In June I submitted an article and youtube to RNC requesting the draft of Palin. I really thought McCain would pick someone like Jindal or Cantor.

I like Palin, and I know for certain that ANWR will be a hot issue. Becoming energy independent will be one of the driving issues this year.

We all know that gas prices affect food prices, delivery method prices, airline prices and so on.

Palin has fought oil companies and fellow Republicans on this issue.

For those who don’t know……….Joe Biden is one of the strongest opponents to ANWR. I look forward to seeing Palin debate Biden! She is a tenacious woman, and a strong woman! I’m very thankful and appreciative of McCain’s pick!

If this election year teaches you anything, it should be this:

    Never assume anything.

I assumed Hillary would be at the top of the ticket in January.

I assumed the Democrats were going to regain full control of government in January.

I assume none of those things anymore.

  • http://obamafact.blogspot.com/ Mel

Since many American’s cannot think clearly, here is a new requirement for American politics:

You enter a restaurant of each candidate and:

In McCain’s restaurant the waiter McCain spells out the special of the evening, a Hamburger with mustard, relish, lettuce, onions and tomatoes.

In Obama’s restaurant the waiter Obama gives a wonder explaination of the special this evening, a hamburger with nice sauteed onions, fresh tomatoes, and a special house sauce.

You order the special in each restaurant.

In McCain’s restaurant, the burger is ok, basically the usual of what you’d expect but tasty and you are satisfied when finished.

In Obama’s restaurant, you wait anxiously for the elaborate burger with all the special trimmings on it, the burger comes and it smells a little odd, you take a bite, the meat used is rotten, the special trimmings are non-existant and the bun is moldy.

In McCain’s restaurant, you haven’t much to say except it wa fulfilling and you are content.

In Obama’s restaurant you become ill from the one bite and are perplexed over the disgusting outcome of what was explained as a gourmet feast.

Outcome of all this is simple, people play mind games for acceptance of things no matter how bad that they read or listen to, but if they have to use the sense of taste, they never forget the fowl and rotten attack that was made on the sense of taste and smell.

This election year, have an Obama burger and after you puke, you would never consider having anything more to do with him.

    • Katmoon

Great metaphor! I’ll pass on those O burgers, eww.

    • roseeriter

Bon apetit bots…LOL! Good analogy Mel!

  • http://! Clinton Fan

I have to agree–they’re all a buncha bums!

I bought the bullshit, too. And as for those “core convictions?” I still have them–I just don’t trust Howard Dean, Donna Brazile, Barack Obama or Joe Biden to realize them for me.

I really do think we need a Third Party. Will HRC be our Teddy Roosevelt?

  • kavala007

The goal of the DNC with Donna Brazile, Howard Dean, and some Congressional leaders, CNN, MSNBC is power. To get it they are using the same tactics used by McCarthy, Hitler, Stalin, Mao Tse –Tung and the list can go on. Terrorists now use the same tactics. Attack a group or start by attacking a handful of people like the Clintons by calling them racists, bitter, stupid the list can go on, while you steal power

Remember it was Donna Brazile who said she needed to destroy the Democratic Party in order to rebuild it and it was Donna Brazile who said that the Black Caucus has political power and was going to use it and Obama to get what they wanted. You have to admit she got what she wanted and she did so using the tactics of all of those whose main goal is power.

This is a different democratic party formed by the above. It continues to bash the Clintons because that is all they have. There is no policy, no issues being discussed. All they know how to do is to threaten, intimidate, and show hatred of Clintons and their supporters in hopes that others will join so they can increase their power. It sounds to me like just what Hitler did with the Jews and McCarthy did to those he believed were Communists and what Mao Tse-tung did to China’s intellectuals.

When these tactics have been used before they succeeded on a temporary basis because no one stood up and said, “No, you cannot do that.” Edmund Burke wrote “the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” The current Democratic Party is one that we do not want in the White House. They killed democracy in the Democratic Party and they will try to kill democracy in the United States. We can stand up and say “No, you will go no further.”

I am with you. I think Obama was selected because they automatically gained a control mechanism of screaming “Racism” anytime they were challenged.

Donna took a page from the VietNam war when she talked about destroying the party…back then there was an episode where the military wiped out a village that had no one but children and women left in it. The quote was “We had to destroy the village in order to save it.” We know how that worked out.

Donna’s strategy will find the same result. They may have used thug, corrupt tactics to win a battle but we will win the war.

After NC/Ind the race was over! There was no mathematical way for her to have surpassed him in pledged dels. But what does she do? Manipulate her followers into thinking there was actually a way she could’ve won. And they all fell for it. Hook line sinker you guys bought it.

            • Hope

How’s that defense of Obama’s character coming, Roxi?

Are you still fine with the drug use, alcoholism, poligamy, teen pregnancy, child abandonment and the rape of children Obama and his ‘mentors’ model for us?

Your silence on the matter indicates you are.
              Good.

              Let’s move on to:

              terrorist appeasing
              unfanticide
              trampling constitutional rights (FISA)
              money laundering
              stacking boards for kickbacks
using government money to fund slumlords

Any thoughts, or just more empty words like Barry?

Roxanne, you make yourself look like a total fool, because you have no idea what you’re talking about. Delegates are not bound until they get to the convention. That’s why it’s called a NOMINATING CONVENTION. Neither candidate had the required delegates to declare a win, and delegates could change their votes right up until last week. So, she COULD WIN THE NOMINATION. Of course, opensecrets.org clearly shows that Obama paid superdelegates thousands of dollars for their support, and the O campaign bullied and threatened many more. There is also the ample evidence of caucus fraud and the FL & MI debacle. Do some damn research before you come here with your ignorant indignation. And BTW: there is no way in hell we are going to vote for him and you can’t win without us, so “get over it.”

      • Roxanne

You have this bizarre sexual obsession with Obama. All of your posts seem to make some kind of reference to his ‘manhood’ or sexual preference. Are you a homosexual by any chance?

        • Buzz Latte

          Obama has a manhood?

I thought that was kept in Michelle’s purse.

        • StrawberrybitesBarky

        • Katmoon

Yep, your are an instigating shit. Actually my entire family is homosexual including the dogs and cats, and the block and the entire city; but your particular intepretation of the “attention” to O’s whatever kinda looks like you might be the one fixated on O’s bump, as you guys are always reporting about.

        • Firefly

I am a heterosexual woman – and you are not – your idiot obsession with the female anatomy tell us, straight out, that you’re a teen-age boy with sexual and mommy problems – your reasons for “attacking for Barry” no doubt.

I couldn’t care less that barky is homosexual – or bisexual – I’m a lifelong Democrat, after all – it’s the SECRET, CLOSETED part that’s creepiest – ’cause here’s the deal, “Roxanne” – in every single way, barky IS NOT WHAT HE PRETENDS TO BE!

Democrats are supposed to be PROGRESSIVE – and stand up for women’s rights – and stand up for gay rights – minority rights – human rights. Those are Democratic PRINCIPLES.

Meaning, when DEMOCRATS are gay, they’re OUT OF THE CLOSET – because they’re supposed to have a party that stands up for their rights. Oh, but NOT BARKY – he runs from gays – and he calls women “sweetie” and flips them off in public forums, to the idiot laughter of his pubescent “supporters.”

Barky’s gay – he’s lying about it – and because of it he may be instrumental in the murder of his partners who would have blown the whistle on his midnight limo “rides” – and he certainly ISN’T STANDING UP FOR ANYBODY’S RIGHTS – not gays, not women, not minorities, not anybody.

Don’t like barky – don’t trust barky – barky is a corrupt, criminal fraud. Talking about his sexual hypocrisy – and your “female” issues – is just a good way to illustrate what pieces of sh*t you and barky are.

    • Pollpatrol

You have embarrassed yourself. Turn off MSNBC and go read a history book. Read about past Democratic primaries and conventions. I’d suggest you start with 1932 – FDR’s nomination. According to your arguments there would be no FDR. He never would have been nominated. Imagine what a different world we would live in. So please. Inform yourself. Then come back here and admit your foolishness.

“I really do think we need a Third Party. Will HRC be our Teddy Roosevelt?”

The TR Progressive Party lasted four years. The Constitution and US political structure are not conducive to a three party system. The best bet is to hand Obama and the DNC leadership a massive defeat on Nov 5 and then purge the party leadership.

  • fif

Great post Lisa. O supporters are out in full force since the Palin announcement, using every lame trick in the book to justify the fraud and hypocrisy of his candidacy. Scare tactics re: Roe v. Wade, Iran, etc. are common and the new ironic twist is that Hillary is now “one of them” and we should listen to her!

How many times do we have to say it? It’s not about Hillary or a woman. IT’S ABOUT CORRUPTION. They violated the most fundamental principles of the Democratic Party and now want us to support it?

    NO WAY.

He does know how many states we have unlike BO; I have seen no sign whatsoever of any of his so-called anger issues. He’s been involved, active, pleasant, civil, mature, appropriate, and the only misogyny I have seen has come from your gang.

I think it was BO talking about abortion not of someone who has “the blues”. Even prior to Roe v Wade, abortion was available for women who were at risk physically or MENTALLY. As for Sarah Palin’s state of mind, I’d say that comment calls in to question yours rather than hers. She’s smart, articulate, knows her territory when it comes to the energy crisis and I love that she has no tolerance for thugs in or out of politics. I’d say Barry is in deep trouble if Sarah puts him in her sights when she becomes VP.

JKFriz speaks sense. The Democratic party as you seem to want it hasn’t existed since George Wallace ran as an independent. How can you say you want the old party when every Democratic leader is supporting Obama. Doesn’t that give you any pause about your view of Obama? Kennedy left the hospital so he could go speak for Obama. I guess Kennedy is not part of the “real” Democratic party either. Hillary – not part of your party. Pat Buchanan now that is more like it.

    • Hillcrat

Hate to say this but there must be a reason why Teddy was never nominated.

Kerry (and Coward Dean) wanted McCain to be his VP in 2004?? If he was good enough for VP in 2004 then he must be ready for President in 2008!

Using the burger analogy above (thanks Mel) I like my meat WELL DONE! lol! =)

Heck, Biden wanted to run with McCain this year. Seems dems can’t say enough good things about McCain.

    • Kal

Uh, a big part of the problem the DNC seems to be having is that the powerholders don’t seem to be able to stand women. And last time I checked, Sen. Kennedy has had a real problem in his life dealing with women too. Respect and concernwise, that is. So the entire cast of characters seems to be running true to form.

      • beebop

It’s the way he was raised. What kind of respect did old Joe have for Ted’s mother? I mean other than to produce the dynasty?

Many people often vote party even though they don’t agree with the party’s positions. You clearly like Pat Buchanan loving women more. We will do just fine without you. We are going to win the presidency and pick up seats in the House and Senate.

        • Donna Brazile

          J Ceeeeeeee!

And there in lies your problem blower!

I thought he was a socialist. I support candidates who support my positions. Many people here say they supported Hillary, but I don’t see how that can be possible if they are voting for McCain/Palin. And I have seen your thought process at work. You think using the name Donna Brazile is clever. I think we can see where the hate is coming from.

McCain wants to take health deductibility away. He also has an adviser who thinks access to an emergency room means everyone is already insured. You have been spending so much time on the internet looking for the whitey tape that you didn’t bother to find out Obama an McCain have different policy positions.

What do you have against Donna Brazile? She ran Al Gore’s campaign. She’s a women. She never supported Obama until after the nomination process was pretty much over.

            • Donna Brazile

              J Ceeeeeeeeee!

              Now you’re TRULY delusional!

BULLSHIT!!!!!! She is the cow who said she was part of the new democratic party and that the old base wasn’t needed and we should just stay home. Man, it’s like you’re trying to rewrite history. Won’t work. We were there. We got the bovine’s e-mails when we asked her to explain her remarks.

              • jc

Brazile is a cow. Stabenow is a pseudo woman. Pelosi also gets lots of kind remarks around here. As a feminist, I feel so proud to live in the same country with people like you. Clearly, your problem with Obama is that you are so sensitive to all the misogyny
aimed at Hillary. I now understand and I’m going to vote for the Pat Buchanan supporter too.

                • StrawberrybitesBarky

How is cow sexist? It has to do with intellect. Cows are dumb. Brazille told the Democratic base(the backbone and grunt workers of the DNC) to stay home. Barky and McCain are fighting over that base. Thus forcing the DNC to spend money on winning back the base rather than winning over independents. Therefore Donna Brazile is a dumb cow.

                  • Ferdberfle

Cow is appropriate, too, in that the “herd” is following its leader.

            • beebop

She ran Al Gore’s campaign !!!!! God, that’s rich. And we had eight years of Al Gore when? When? Speak up there Fritz, we can’t hear you …. She got kicked off the Gephard campaign for making unsubstantiated accusations about Bush I. She’s a LOSER. Just like the guys she’s trying so damned hard to foist on an unsuspecting party. 0donna and 0bama. Toghether they are I HAVE A SCHEME. MLK would be HUMILIATED. a REAL democrat doesn’t vote with Bush on energy

a REAL democrat doesn’t lie to democrats and then smirk and say “where else ya gonna go?”

The trooper deal is being made out to be a big deal. The inside scoop from my Alaska is that the trooper in question, while he was Palin’’s former brother in law, was reprimanded for a number of things in the past, including using a taser on his 10 year old stepson, drinking in his partol car while on duty, shooting game without a license, and threatening to put a bullet in the head of Palins father. Set aside the family relationship here – that trooper is still on the job. In any State other than Alaska I think he would have been fired for any one of those issues long ago

    • Katmoon

Yes he would have, makes you worried for anyone being stopped by this slob.

  • Madison

    John McCain/Sara Palin o8

    WOW!!!!!!!!!!!What a great pick

  • katmandu

Here’s some of the back story unreported by many lefty blogs (perhaps out of ignorance, or intended deceit) on why Sarah Palin was concerned about the trooper (Wooten) once married to her sister.

A h/t to http://www.floppingaces.net/2008/08/29/palins-troopergate-beating-msm-distortions-to-the-truth/ which has a very long version of this, with other citations.

The husband (Sarah Palin’s brother-in-law) allegedly
    1) tased his 10 year old stepson (doing it for “training”)
    2) threatened to shoot his wife’s father (also Sarah Palin’s father) if the father hired an attorney to represent the wife

(tr. of Sarah Palin’s testimony at http://media.adn.com/smedia/2008/07/18/13/071607-palin-monegue-050205-interview-transcript.source.prod_affiliate.7.pdf)

    3) drank while on duty in his patrol car

    http://www.juneauempire.com/stories/072808/sta_310532640.shtml

A few other notes. The state police internal investigation against the brother-in-law had started a year before Palin became governor, in fact before she had even started her campaign.

The trooper at 35 has been married and divorced four times. http://www.newsminer.com/news/2008/jul/28/scrutiny-wooten-raises-conduct-questions/ Apart from the allegation regarding Palin’s sister, the “trooper commanders saw cause to discipline or give written instructions to correct Wooten seven times since he [had] joined the force.” Id.

Now there are two sides to every story, especially in a divorce . . . but to this 50+ male it smacks of an abusive husband situation, exacerbated because the husband drank and carried a gun (as part of his job).

I’m sure we’ll hear a lot more about this, but it is important to know this minimal amount about the case.

    • Tuppence 411

It burns my a$$ that the MSM is leaving this portion
of the story on the cutting room floor. Any public offical who allowed a violent domestic abuser criminal to remain on the public payroll as a POLICE officer deserved to be fired! Why wasn’t the trooper in jail? WTF!

I am ASHAMED that I was ever a DEMOCRAP

MICHAEL MOORE is a pig. I regret EVER paying money to see one of his films:

Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise is calling on liberal filmmaker Michael Moore to apologize after he said Friday that the timing of Hurricane Gustav is “proof that there is a God heaven,” since the storm approaching the Gulf Coast could disrupt next week’s Republican National Convention.

Moore made the remarks to MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann. Republicans have been monitoring the storm’s progress, considering whether to postpone their convention in St. Paul, Minn., if the storm wreaks havoc on the New Orleans area, just three years after Hurricane Katrina.

“I was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven,” Moore said. “To just have it planned at the same time, that it would actually be on its way to New Orleans for Day One of the Republican convention, up in the Twin Cities, at the top of the Mississippi River.”

Scalise released a statement Saturday blasting the documentary filmmaker for the remarks.

“I demand an immediate apology from Michael Moore to the people of south Louisiana for his offensive and inappropriate comments,” said Scalise, a Republican. “People in Louisiana, regardless of political affiliation, are making plans to leave to protect their families from this serious storm, and the God I know would not share Michael Moore’s glee for our plight.”

Residents of New Orleans and the surrounding area have to started to evacuate, while the storm strengthened to a Category 4 hurricane.

Moore seemed to back off his statement on air Friday, later saying, “I mean I certainly hope nobody gets hurt. I hope everybody’s taking cover.”

    • socalannie

Michael Moore is a repulsive toad. His last doc had lots of holes in it, according to my Canadian friends. I am for a national healthcare system, but MM has a way of making a good thing seem bad, due to his totally offensive demeanor.

    • LilRod

Micheal Moore left me when he went to Cuba to defend that communist island’s failed health system.
I am a CA & know how it is for the foreigners’s hard cash while the Cuban people do without..including many doctors who are sent overseas for hard cash also. It is all a myth & Moore helped sell it.

Hillary remains the best choice TODAY

Update: Entire Gulf of Mexico on Hurricane watch, mandatory evacuation orders now in effect on some areas of New Orleans. Buses, identification bandsm pet care, and transportation to outer states. Memphis as destination for trains coming from NO tonight.

The contingency plan – a worst case scenario if the storm devastates coastal areas – would turn Republicans into Red Cross-type volunteers who would help collect donations, food and goods to help storm victims.
McCain – whose campaign motto is “Country First” – said helping people during an emergency will take precedence over accepting his GOP nomination for president.
“It wouldn’t be appropriate to have a festive occasion while a near tragedy or a terrible challenge is presented in the form of a natural disaster,” McCain told Fox News in a pretaped interview airing today.

Most of the most RABID Obama supporters who spread their vile against Hillary were the very same “progressives” who proudly voted for NADER twice as a “protest vote” against the DNC.

They bragged about helping the DNC lose in 2000 and 2004.

And here they are born again after dunking themselves in Koolaid calling any DEM who doesn’t annoint Obama a DINO.

They looovvveed to brag about their protest votes that taught the DNC a lesson in 2000 and 2004.

But now these same goosestepping, women hating, dregs of politics now play down Obama’s FISA flipflop and attack us for the audicity of using our right to a protest vote.

You know why? They know damn well PUMAS can make Obama lose. Just like they themselves made Gore & Kerry lose.

    Hypocrites.

    • beebop

They also bragged about NOT VOTING AT ALL. Tons of them. So f*ck them and the losing ticket they are trying to shove down my unwilling throat.

Howard Dean was governor of Vermont, a state smaller than Alaska, and economically far less important. Yes, he served longer, but Vermont may rank as the least important state in the Union. Its GSP (state GDP) is a little more than half of Alaska’s, and ranks dead last among the 50 States. I think he had many progressive supporters, and was for a time a leading contender for President. Will the Kossacks mention that?

Chester A. Arthur, the father of the modern Civil Service System (Pendleton Act) held no elective office prior to becoming Garfield’s VP. He was a spoils system appointee of the Stalwart Republicans, running the NY Customs House. He also briefly served as a quartermaster general during the Civil War. Yet he is well regarded by historians because of his ethics reforms.

Harry Truman held elective office prior to becoming VP, but was pretty much a nobody in the Senate until his Truman Committee exposed government waste. Prior to that he had always been regarded as a lightweight political hack, the senator from (boss) Pendergast. Prior to becoming VP, he thus had one significant accomplishment.

    “We Will Not Be Silenced”
    Email: susanunpc@gmail.com

Thanks to several alert readers here at No Quarter, I have learned about a new documentary on Caucus Fraud that is just coming out. “We Will Not Be Silenced, ” by Gigi Gaston, came into being according to their website because:

As Americans, we expect certain liberties and rights that were granted us by our forefathers, who wrote documents like the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. “We the people” expect that these fundamental rights will always be protected.

However, in the current Democratic Presidential Primary, this has not been the case. We believe that the The Democratic National Committee (DNC) made a grave error by depriving American voters of their choice of Hillary Clinton as Democratic nominee. Senator Clinton, by all accounts, except caucuses, won the Primary Election and, therefore, should be the 2008 Democratic Nominee.

That didn’t happen, due largely to illegitimate and illegal acts. We have interviews of many accounts from caucus states recounting threats, intimidation, lies, stolen documents, falsified documents, busing in voters in exchange for paying for “dinners,” etc.

There are at least 2000 complaints, in Texas alone, of irregularities directed towards the Obama Campaign, that have lead to a very fractured and broken Democratic Party.

The preview, all 33 minutes of it, is compelling. In essence, it is a visual companion to the work of Dr. Lynette Long at Caucus Fraud and Peniel Cronin on Primaries and Caucuses (which will appear at NQ shortly).

In short, it is disturbing not just how this happened, but THAT it happened in our country.
I invite you to watch the preview to this documentary, about which the authors said this:
This documentary is about the disenfranchising of American citizens by the Democratic Party and the Obama Campaign. We the People have made this film. Democrats have sent in their stories from all parts of America.

We want to be heard and let the country know how our party has sanctioned the actions of what we feel are Obama campaign “Chicago Machine” dirty politics. We believe this infamous campaign of “change” from Chicago encouraged and created an army to steal caucus packets, falsify documents, change results, allow unregistered people to vote, scare and intimidate Hillary supporters, stalk them, threaten them, lock them out of their polling places, silence their voices and stop their right to vote, which is, of course, all documented in “We Will Not Be Silenced.”

This documentary contains powerful, important information. I urge you to spread the word however you are able. Now is the time.

My deepest thanks to all of those at “We Will Not Be Silenced” for your commitment to democracy, to the rights of Americans, all Americans, to vote. Thank you for your courage and integrity in getting this critical information out. And thank you for bringing the voices of these Americans out for us all to witness.

Get your fresh conspiracy theory here, hot off the grill!

      • wodiej

Francis, have you ever seen the commerical where someone is cracking an egg and the announcer says “this is your brain” and then the egg is dropped into a hot skillet with oil in it and the announcer says “this is your brain on drugs”? Well you are the egg in the skillet. It must be sad to have no friends and no one talk to and you have to come here for intelligent conversation. We’ll do our best to enlighten you.

        • 1st & 10

C’mon, wodiej! We don’t wanna badmouth/personal insult the competition to the point of looking distasteful ourselves: That’d make us look like USC or OSU fans… or Florida State fans. We’ve gotta be the classy fans of the pro-McCain/Palin debate. (I’m thinking Michigan, or even Notre Dame without the snooty high-mindedness.) So let’s respectfully back up our answers with some hard-hitting facts and leave the personal insults out of this. And remember: even though our primary candidate was snubbed out (Hillary), we should take it in stride. Did Michigan fans become endlessly bitter after laying an egg at the Rose Bowl in 2006? No, they took the game for what it was worth, licked their wounds, and opened next season’s conference play in style. (My version of “opened conference play” begins with the Notre Dame game, not the App State and UO game.) C’mon team – huddle and 1-2-3-GO PALIN!

          • beebop

Hey cream puff. Michigan State is nothing but WHINERS. Here in Ohio we don’t take OSU insults laying down. Notre Dame? PLEASE.

FIRST, I think we can all say that the top 10 teams did NOT disappoint thus far; Georgia trounced their (cupcake) competition, though I’m still not convinced that they necessarily deserve their #1 ranking; Florida, LSU, and OSU all rolled on convincingly; and USC looks like it’s got it’s game against UVA in the bag.

The top question still comes to mind; Is this really the BEST set of college teams around this year? Year after year has proven us wrong (well, mostly), leading many to await the demise of the BCS, which, unfortunately, will probably never happen. Nonetheless, we can still enjoy the eventual upsets that await us this season – (17) VA Tech and (25) Pitt were already shocked by lesser known teams.

So get off your office chair, hit the couch and enjoy the rest of the day’s games. Oh, and don’t forget about the UCLA/Tennessee game tomorrow, although I think we all know who will win. (Three letters: S-E-C.) Talk to y’all later and, of course, go Palin!

Okay I can’t get the “link” button to work, but everybody needs to go read this article. What American journalists won’t, or can’t say, the foreign press has no qualms about.

Thanks for posting this – I like this part:

But why has the promise of him lost it’s early sheen? He’ll get a bounce in the polls from Denver, but why does he need one when he’s fighting against a spent, 72-year-old senatorial volcano, John McCain, who has supported the unpopular Bush Administration in more than 90 per cent of Senate votes?

Perhaps it is because there is something a little robotic, a trifle pat, about Obama’s political rhetoric.

      • Katmoon

        Thanks for the link Donna;
And this part as well, they sure don’t hold back!

Who is this Barack Obama underneath the flim-flam, the showbiz razzmatazz, the tear-jerking ‘back story’? We’re not much closer to knowing.

Surprisingly, this, the most important speech of his life, turned out to be a workaday laundry list of wishes and desires – vintage political stuff uttered in some form or another by all Democrat aspirants to office.

Or by our own Labour and Tory politicos, come to that. Heavy on emotion; light on detail.

    • socalannie

Good article. Obama is an empty suit–it’s about time journalists are starting to notice.

Become an indepenent; that’s what I did. I will never belong to or donate to a political party again.

Bill Clinton’s acceptance speech to 1992 Democratic Convention

Tonight, as plainly as I can, I want to tell you who I am, what I believe, and where I want to lead America.

I never met my father. He was killed in a car wreck on a rainy road three months before I was born, driving from Chicago to Arkansas to see my mother.

After that, my mother had to support us, so we lived with my grandparents while she went back to Louisiana to study nursing. I can still see her clearly tonight through the eyes of a three-year-old, kneeling at the railroad station and weeping as she put me back on the train to Arkansas with my grandmother.

She endured that pain because she knew her sacrifice was the only way she could support me and give me a better life. My mother taught me. She taught me about family and hard work and sacrifice. She held steady through tragedy after tragedy, and she held our family- my brother and I- together through tough times.

As a child, I watched her go off work each day at a time when it wasn’t always easy to be a working mother.

As an adult, I’ve watched her fight off breast cancer, and again she has taught me a lesson in courage. And always, always, she taught me to fight.

That’s why I’ll fight to create high-paying jobs so that parents can afford to raise their children today.

That’s why I’m so committed to make sure every American gets the health care that saved my mother’s life and that women’s health care gets the same attention as men’s.

That’s why I’ll fight to make sure women in this country receive respect and dignity, whether they work in the home, out of the home, or both.

You want to know where I get my fighting spirit? It all started with my mother. Thank you, Mother. I love you.

i miss him ….He is just special …

pls pass his speech to other blogs too ….thx

    • Sonia

I learned a lot from another person too: a person who for more than 20 years has worked hard to help our children, paying the price of time to make sure our schools don’t fail them. Someone who traveled our state for a year, studying, learning, listening, going to PTA meetings, school board meetings, town hall meetings, putting together a package of school reforms recognized around the nation, and doing it all while building a distinguished legal career and being a wonderful, loving mother.

      That person is my wife.

Hillary taught me. She taught me that all children can learn and that each of us has a duty to help them do it.

So if you want to know why I care so much about our children, and our future, it all started with Hillary. I love you.

I think the caucuses created the worst insight for me. Republicans don’t have them. All primaries and no superdelegates. Democrats should do the same ASAP to avoid future disasters.

I love hearing people say, “if you’re a REAL Democrat, you’ll vote for Obama”. Gosh! Does that mean you’re not a REAL AMERICAN if you don’t vote democrat (any ‘ole democrat – Obummer)? What’s gonna happen – is Hilter and his ‘party’ (the KKG?) coming after you?

Are dems and repubs supposed to be stoned if they DON’T vote for their respective parties? People who are ‘party’ crazy need medical help. Move to China or Russia – this is AMERICA and AMERICA is a FREE country, free of ANY pressure to ‘belong’ to any group/party/religion…

“TRUE Democrats” (and “TRUE Republicans”) – what’s your motto? “God Bless Democrats” or “God Bless Republicans”? Well, I say “God Bless AMERICA”! COUNTRY OVER PARTY – vote for the PERSON and the ISSUES.

  • Dan

Obama and his campaign called Hillary and president Clinton racist. But that won’t work against McCain because republicans don’t expect to be supported by the AA, so they’ll try to paint sen McCain and gov.Palin as out of touch with the middle class like Bush was. The problem with that is it’s hard to acuse sen McCain when the regular people that attend your speeches only see you as a pea because your ego is the size of a football stadium.
If you just go back one year sen McCain was broke and written off by many and was doing small town venues in townhall meetings doing his straight talk. Obama on the other hand was already doing big events with the help of billionaire Oprah. Today both candidates are running at a tie but McCains story is more uplifting than Obamas. He stayed in the fight against all odds and against Romney’s money. His tunacity brought him to victory and his judgement on the surge actually saved alot of lives and now his judgement on his VP pick of a woman is telling.

Some will say that he’s playing to Hillary’s base of women but I personally thinks that he liked Hillary and felt sorry for the way she was treated by her own party and the msm. The guy is genuine unlike Obama the pretender.

I know I am a pain in the ass with these hurricane updates, but I want to remind you, to fill up your cars today, gas prices are going up already, particularly in the larger cities, as a prediction of the damage of Gustav-which is a prediction of 5 a gallon. If you live in SF or NY, there will be a huge spike on gas, so just a heads up, and sorry for being a pain in the ass, but this one is on the verge of being a Cat 5, any minute.

Gustav Threat Causes Gas Price Spike Ahead of Labor Day
    Friday, August 29, 2008

NEW YORK — Retail gas prices swung higher Friday — the first increase in 43 days — as analysts warned that a direct hit on U.S. energy infrastructure by Hurricane Gustav could send pump prices hurtling toward $5 a gallon.

The Supreme Court stole the 2000 election and appointed Bush. The DNC stole this convention and Hillary’s 1800 votes disappeared. Obama never reached the number of votes required to be the nominee. The rules were manipulated to make sure that the chosen one was the nominee. What a farce! I intend to vote third party as a protest so that the Democrats will know their game has not succeeded.

ick. ee is one of the foulest trolls we’ve had around here. You should’ve seen him last nite. To call him a troll is an insult to trolls.

EE is actually the sockpuppet of a woman who has a huge anger management problem. NQ is not the only site she trolls. Her main online personality portrays as an extreme lefty, a Marxist, and she fancies herself radically chic. The stuttering sockpuppet is her signature troll. It is interesting that at least one astute observer believes she is actually a Republican plant.

What she is, is a waste of time.

OLD STORY ,BUT IS IT TRUE???

Barack Obama’s ‘lost’ brother found in Kenya
Senator Barack Obama’s long lost brother has been tracked down for the first time living in a shanty town in Kenya, reports claimed.

George Hussein Onyango Obama, Senator Barack Obama’s long lost brother was tracked down living in a hut on the outskirts of Nairobi Photo: Guy Calaf, Vanity Fair, Italy The Italian edition of Vanity Fair said that it had found George Hussein Onyango Obama living in a hut in a ramshackle town of Huruma on the outskirts of Nairobi.

Mr Obama, 26, the youngest of the presidential candidate’s half-brothers, spoke for the first time about his life, which could not be more different than that of the Democratic contender.

“No-one knows who I am,” he told the magazine, before claiming: “I live here on less than a dollar a month.”

According to Italy’s Vanity Fair his two metre by three metre shack is decorated with football posters of the Italian football giants AC Milan and Inter, as well as a calendar showing exotic beaches of the world.

Vanity Fair also noted that he had a front page newspaper picture of his famous brother – born of the same father as him, Barack Hussein Obama, but to a different mother, named only as Jael.

He told the magazine: “I live like a recluse, no-one knows I exist.”

Embarrassed by his penury, he said that he does not does not mention his famous half-brother in conversation.

“If anyone says something about my surname, I say we are not related. I am ashamed,” he said.

For ten years George Obama lived rough. However he now hopes to try to sort his life out by starting a course at a local technical college.

He has only met his famous older brother twice – once when he was just five and the last time in 2006 when Senator Obama was on a tour of East Africa and visited Nairobi.

The Illinois senator mentions his brother in his autobiography, describing him in just one passing paragraph as a “beautiful boy with a rounded head”.

Of their second meeting, George Obama said: “It was very brief, we spoke for just a few minutes. It was like meeting a complete stranger.”

George added he was no longer in contact with his mother and said:”I have had to learn to live and take what I need.

“I have seen two of my friends killed. I have scars from defending myself with my fists. I am good with my fists.”

Great post and exactly my feelings.

We have to keep throwing out incumbents until elected officials do what they’re elected to do. And especially stop electing puppets like GWB and wannabes like Acrock Obananas.

  • KarenAnn

I’m kinda taking my cue from Big Dawg: If you have a choice of X (Obama/Biden) who you (maybe) agree with on most of the issues but won’t get anything done, and Y (McCain/Palin) who you agree with on half the issues but can deliver on most of them, who would you pick? (paraphased) Ah,let me think???
I’m going with the Y. And I like Palin, at least what I saw and have heard since. I may not agree with her stance on some issues but I like what she has done in Alaska in such a short period of time. She is smart and will make a quick study. I loved it when McCain said she is someone who won’t be told to sit down. Actually, I’ll bet that Hillary and Bill had a real good chuckle on Friday morning (maybe they even knew before that), I know I did and I’m still smiling. Maybe the Dems should remember that the VP IS a job training program, but the POTUS isn’t and as usual they are putting the cart before the horse.

“Who are these people? What do they believe in?”

Apparently, the Demockacrats, liberals and leftists –the current coalition called the “Democratic Party” — believe in sexism, misogyny, misanthropy but especially infanticide, intellectual dishonesty, slander and, among other things, racial, social, cultural and religious arson.

They also seem to believe in situational ethics, moral relativisim, fascism and throwing darts at a board to pick both presidential and vice-presidential candidates.

Further, they believe America is responsible for the ills of the world, that our country deserves to be weakened and subservient to banana republics or any other dicatorial states.

Further, they believe it is OK to bask in the very freedoms for which so many have given their lives or parts of their bodies and/or minds, or simply time in service, while actively attempting to undermine or destroy our freedoms.

They have become seditious fascists, under their banner of “change.”

And they are afraid of the truth. Thus, they cannot tell you, me, even themsevles what it might be, should they know.

And your and I are right not to trust them because they no longer deserve trust, only scorn and derision.

I, like you, outgrew them. But that was a couple of decades ago. Thanks be to God.
