We woman have been defending ourselves for a long time, along with many men, who love and care about us. The sadness to see such permitted verbal violence against women indicates what we also see daily in the papers, the amount of women who are murdered day in and day out in this country, the highest population are pregnant women. I bring this up as it points to a collective mentality which as permitted and encourage by the media. I think this rumor must be coming from the fact that most people did not know she was pregnant until her 7th month. Now why would she keep her pregnancy quiet? If I found myself in her situation, carrying a baby I knew had a serious, possibly fatal problem, I might not want people getting all excited when I would be scared to death about what might happen. I had a friend whose little girl with Down’s dropped dead because of her serious heart problems, something that can be a result of Down’s. I have worked with a few Down’s kids and the severity of the syndrome varies greatly.

Somehow sending your child out on the campaign trail on your behalf, one who has grown to be a pretty damn good example of what any decent young person could strive to be, was equated with getting a desperate girl who is down on her luck hooked on drugs and out on the streets peddling her ass for your personal profit… using them in the way that a pimp uses his prostitutes.

I hereby apologize for the harm brought to a minor child (that of Sarah Palin) and for the personal attacks on her family including her four month old baby with Down Syndrome.

My family and my brother who has mental retardation and autism growing up did family activities back in Massachusetts growing up with many families who had Down Syndrome. He was reading the signage,,,,you know the one that says hwo tall you have to be etc…he asked me what the word gestational meant….I had the patience and answered him. One other funny story about my brother. He worked most of his life. He lives on his own. But about three years ago, he told our oldest sister I am done working. Now he is “retired” and lives on SSI. He was a tax paying citizen of our country for more years than I can count! (Andrew Sullivan is lower than pond scum!)

I would not trade those days of yore (and today) with my brother for a million dollars. He made me a better person, accepting and tolerant of those who are different than I am.

He seems to have suffered the onset of full-on mental dementia. Since we’re airing “uncomfortable theories” of a medical type here which need to be explored, I doubt there is anyone on the blogosphere who hasn’t wondered — frequently — if Sullivan is suffering from AIDS-related dementia.

Ugly, yes, but we’re all thinking the same thing; and as we’re now apparently free to speculate about such ugly things, I see no reason why Sullivan should be further shielded.

He’s gone fucking bananas, due to AIDS or steroids or other reasons, and if we’re not observing a minimum level of politeness and civility anymore — if innocent 16 year old girls are now valid targets — I see no reason to continue extending the courtesy of polite silence to Sullivan.

True, he writes like a 16-year-old girl, only without as much emotional control and even-keeled restraint; but he is, supposedly, an adult man. If a child is to be subjected to this by Sullivan, then Sullivan can hardly cry foul.

(Oh, but he will, of course! And that’s the sickest thing about this. Our Queen of Perpetual Narcissistic Self-Fascination will whine like a bitch about this post, and castigate others for linking me. Because I wrote stuff about Sullivan one-half as nasty as he’s writing about a 16 year old girl. )
