The Democratic Left Becomes George Bush

I have fought the policies, lies, corruption and hypocrisy of George W. Bush. He is the worst President in my lifetime and certainly ranks as one of the worse since Warren G. Harding. I regret nothing. I was looking forward to voting for a Democrat who would repudiate the policies and practices of the Bush regime. Until Barack Obama took center stage.

My thinking on this was triggered by the maelstrom surrounding the smear from Obama supporters claiming that Sarah Palin was not pregnant and did not give birth to the five month old boy with Down’s Syndrome. The left’s depravity knows no bounds (as laid out in detail by Divine Democrat here) as many, most notably that turd of a human being Andrew Sullivan, claimed it was the secret love child of Palin’s then 16 year old daughter.

Do these nuts not understand the concept of photos? The Daily Kos crowd who claim that no one knew that Palin was pregnant apparently must have been talking to Alaska’s version of Stevie Wonder. Blindness is the only excuse for this kind of stupid comment.

So why do I write that the Democratic Left has become W?

Remember back when George W. was running against McCain in 2000? Let’s take a walk down memory lane with the NY Times’ Peter Baker:

The crucible came in South Carolina, where the tone took a decidedly low turn. Bush stood by as a surrogate at a campaign event accused McCain of forgetting fellow veterans when he returned after five and a half years of captivity in North Vietnam. At McCain headquarters, reports kept pouring in about flyers and phone calls insinuating all manner of scurrilous things about the senator — he had fathered a black child out of wedlock, he beat his wife, he was mentally unstable, he had a secret Vietnamese family, he was a Manchurian candidate, he was gay, his wife was a drug addict and so forth. Bush denied any involvement in the whisper campaign, but for his own part took umbrage at a McCain ad saying the Texas governor “twists the truth like Clinton.”

“Stuff happened in South Carolina that none of us liked,” Mark Salter, McCain’s alter ego, told me over a beer in a hotel bar during a campaign swing in New England last month. “But you never knew how much” was orchestrated by Bush or his people. McCain’s campaign was crushed in South Carolina, and McCain did little to hide his anger, calling Bush “a combination of the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow” — in other words, a man with no courage, no heart and no brain. Cindy McCain stewed over the attacks, particularly the “illegitimate black child” allegation, a vicious reference to their adopted daughter Bridget, a baby she brought home from an orphanage in Bangladesh run by Mother Teresa. The night of the primary, Cindy cried in the candidate’s hotel suite.

Talk about Deja Vu.

I still have good friends on the so-called progressive side of the ledger (but I’m beginning to wonder what it really means to be “progressive”) who insist the allegation against Palin and her 5 month old son is the equivalent of claiming that Barack Obama has a close relationship with unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers, attended a muslim school in Indonesia, used a different name (Barry Soetoro) when he was in Indonesia, and profited from his relationship with the corrupt Tony Rezko. This is truly mind boggling.

The claim that Palin pretended to be pregnant is demonstrably false. In fact, it is a goddamn lie. But Barack Obama’s ties to Ayers, Indonesia, and Rezko are not confabulations. They are true and Barack is covering up important facts. What is truly stunning is that it appears that some in the media are willing to equate bald face lies about Palin as being of the same order as demonstrable (but unexplored) facts about Obama.

The media helped fuck America with George Bush. The likes of Judith Miller, Tim Russert, and the Washington Post played along as Bush started an unnecessary war in Iraq. They refused to ask tough questions or challenge demonstrably false assertions. And they are doing it once again with Barack Obama. He continues to receive the kid glove treatment as the media–legs a tingling–fawn over the new Messiah. And lapping along with them, lips firmly planted on the “holy” one’s derriere, is the so-called Democratic left.

I made the mistake once in supporting George Bush and ignoring my reservations about his lack of experience and questionable character. I will not make that same mistake with Barack Obama, who with each passing day reflects the viciousness and insecurity of W. America cannot afford another politician like Bush.

Well if George could steal his way into office for 8 years, what shouldnt Obama…Equal opportunity is what they are probably thinking.

Besides, Thanks to george bush and his drastic lowering of the bar of what befits a president and what we demand from out presidents, Obama and the complicit DNC surrogates now believe he is qualified.

  • http://www.airfarceone.net/antidems/michelle_dumbbell.gif Michelle Obama

Anything, including Barack Obama, is qualified in the wake of Bush. Utterly mediocre, American society has officially become decadent. Let us hope Obama will be stopped.

  • Seattle Moss

The left wing of the party are scum!
They have been hijacked by the Communists and Marxists and have no soul.
I believe that it is true irony for the left to find themselves attacking a VP selection over her qualifications when they had no problem voting for their unqualified affirmative action candidate.

I vote on experience and character.
McCain is on the top of the ticket and I look forward to Palin learning much from him and the Sec of State Liebermann.

    I agree Larry

Obama =Bush#3 and Obama supporters are worse wing nuts than even bush’s wingnuts- both incredibly evil, insane and mentally sick.

I agree Seattle Moss- the left wing is pure gutter trash. No wonder liberal has such a bad connotation.

  • roseeriter

Cocaine use must be one of the requirements now, thanks to Bush and Obama.

  • DisenfranchisedVoter

Taylor Marsh is DISGUSTING. Calling Palin and Barbie and having the nerve to question her experience? HELLO. Democrats will lose this argument. Obama is no more experience than Palin, probably less since he’s spent most of his time in office stepping over people in order to climb the ladder without doing any actual work.
    http://taylormarsh.com/archives_view.php?id=28330
Notice that the reason why this one post has so many comments is because Clinton supporters were disgusted enough to go back to her site to make a comment.
Taylor is nothing but a former beauty queen herself. People in glass houses…

I can’t wait to see what kind of BS she comes up with about Bristol Palin’s pregnancy.

All McCain has to do is stick up for Palin and he will win. These tactics come out of Rove’s playbook and because of Obama, we see the Left using these dirty tactics to win when they don’t even have their party united behind their illegitimate candidate.

  • Jack

I still have good friends on the so-called progressive side of the ledger (but I’m beginning to wonder what it really means to be “progressive”

It’s a snarky, caucasian white attitude. The Democratic party has long ago stopped being a Party of the People but a party of finance capital, the banks, the hedge funds, the wanna-be carbon instrument traders. The “brand” depends on the “Party of the People” reputation, hence Obama needed to remind us in his speech that the Democrats are the party of “Franklin Roosevelt” and “JFK.” Rich white “The Nation” readers hold on as long as the party leaders make snarky comments about other Americans.

The Daily Kos Krew are merely bipolars unknowingly interacted with other bipolars.

  • Objective analysis

Mcain-Palin will make an excellent President and Vice President. I am black and like the Hillary supporter on CNN after her speech, Obama has 2 months.

His Obamaites are really pissing me off here. Chicago Thug mentality of politics is not going to have me vote for this underqualified individual with a racist, sexist runningmate.

McCain might be extreme for my taste, but he is not stupid. He knew he had to change and pick a great pick who has governing experience. She is an exceptional choice and a diamond in the rough. I wish her well.

Pride always come before the Fall. Diddy is not helping and also the attacks by CNN, MsNBC and the blogs on Palin’s family is very dangerous.

Do you not think that the Republicans have the Michelle whitey racist rant tape and the video of Obama in Rev. Wright’s church hearing the G D America sermon?

Well get your popcorn. It is going to be interesting.

  • NoBAma

I fear that Palin will end up quitting as VP and that’s what the left wing nut jobs want. I hope she can take the onslaught of the media and sexist bloggers.
I think the news of her daughter’s pregnancy makes that family very real and human.

  • Jack

  • BernieO

You left out all the vicious smears of both Clintons which included cocaine smuggling and murder.

I have to take issue with your saying that you would have to be blind not to know Palin was pregnant. Apparently you don’t watch soap operas. Women are constantly faking pregnancy by wear those fake pregnancy bellies! Seriously, she could have done this.

I heard on CNN or MSNBC a couple of days ago that most people did not know Palin was pregnant until she was 7 months, which is why I think this rumor got started. What is really stupid and shows a complete lack of understanding and compassion is that these creeps apparently never stopped to think what it is like for a pregnant woman who knows her baby will be born with an extremely serious condition which not only causes mental retardation but serious health problems. I have a friend whose toddler with Down’s died of a heart attack! About half of Down’s children have heart problems so Palin must have been aware of this dreadful possibility. Imagine having to address people’s excitement over your pregnancy when you are scared to death about the health of your baby and the difficult, life long challenge your family now faces. It is not surprising that she kept quiet about her pregnancy.

Now these people’s viciousness and complete stupidity put her daughter’s private business in the spotlight. I hope the media downplays this garbage. Fat chance.

  • Freedom Fighter

News sites are now reporting Todd Palin had a DUI. Too bad the Republicans pick unvetted candidates. Sarah Palin will make Dan Quayle look like a serious VP candidate.

    I really like Sarah Palin!!!

Sarah has a pure spirit, convictions and values which she stands behind regardless of the costs.
These are her values and as the leader of our great country they are values that we can all aspire to be like.
I’m a Catholic and I don’t believe in all the Popes teachings however they are values for which we can all aspire to be as better citizens and human beings.

  • http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com FloridaEx-Dem

Obama is the equivalent of Bush III. No experience. No work history. No ethics. Lies, lies, lies. Crooked friends. The only differences are (1) that we do know Bush was born in the US (2) Bush can’t speak publicly even WITH a teleprompter (3) Bush makes inane remarks, blows off international emergencies, then says “Now watch this drive” and Obama makes inane remarks, blows off international emergencies, then goes on a diatribe about his Hawaiian shave ice. (4) Bush has Rove. Obama has Axelrod. Both obviously require puppeteers.

I refuse to be responsible for another ‘Bush-like’ Presidency and I’m convinced that’s what we’d have with Obama – abuses of power, arrogant ignorance, a gaggle of power-hungry insider-thugs, and of course, now Obamabots instead of Bushbots, crawling all over the US.

I can’t say I like a lot about McCain but he was once quite the maverick. We can only hope he still is, once he’s out from under the thumb of Bush’s Washington thugs.

Well, Obama did say in Philadelphia that if his opponents bring knives, his guys will bring guns.

Obama is an absolute, total sleaze and so are the Democratic leaders and media who are trying to ram him down our throats.

I hope Hillary and Bill Clinton refuse to campaign for him. We need a third party in this country anyway. Down ticket candidates…beware…there will be backlash.

And I hope that the Republicans are going to keep an eagle eye out for voter fraud come November. I wouldn’t put anything past the Obama campaign.

  • http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com FloridaEx-Dem

It’s discouraging when we don’t have clear-cut choices but it’s a gamble I’m willing to take. I’d rather take a chance that McCain will become the OLD McCain that I liked than to vote for a fer-sure Bush#3.

I guess nothing should surprise me that the left wing smear machine comes up with. It’s odd that they have become what they so supposedly loathe. While I don’t think that I will vote for McCain/Palin, this kind of behavior on the part of the BO supporters just solidifies my lack of enthusiasm to support him, though I believe he is closer to my beliefs on the issues. I didn’t think it was possible, but they have gone even deeper off the deep end…

I think they are just in panic mode. I don’t think that BO has a prayer. I believe that a lot of moderate women are going to vote for McCain now.

BO blew it, he should have picked Hillary as VP.

Once again BO reinforced my belief that his judgment is very, very poor.

At some point voters make comparisons to past politicians, and see where there is similarity and where there is not. I have never felt McCain became a Bush supporter, I think what he has done is let those survival instincts kick in; he was taken apart horribly in the 2000 primaries much the same way hillary was this year; he has done what he had to, to survive, much like we see hillary doing now. Yet, he has never lost that wonderful independent “maverick” streak, and just like the crazy O supporters who still scream and insult Hillary, there will be those who do the same to Senator McCain. Guess what it is an experience he has been through, just like Hillary. That loud whining from o camp, is their fear, because they really do not know their history, they do not know their opponents and do not have an honest interest in what is good for the country. They are reflective of the selfishness that once invaded the Republican party and now has a choke hold in the Democratic party.

I’m good with where Senator McCain has had to be to get to where he is; just like I would be with Senator Clinton.

  • http://chriss chris

They are using the tactic of deferring attention to the person who needs to be looked at namely Obama. This wonderful woman and family is taking the brunt of media and leftwing attention because she not only represents a threat but a golden opportunity to deflect negative attention from the real problem. Obama and the Ayers issue. Not to mention all the other Obama problems that are being held in the background. The Dems are so scared of what is coming about Obama and the fact that Palin is a real threat to their success because she is the real deal, that they will vomit out all the visciousness they can spew out. I just hope the Palins have the stomach to weather the storm no pun intended. The Dems will end up looking like fools as usual in the long run, but it will be a tough go for awhile for the Plains. I hope they make it because they couldn’t be more American if someone had created them from a prototype. Good fortune Palin family. There are many of us out here supporting you.

    Absolutely correct Larry.

And of course Barry Soetoro (BS…hmmm, is THAT why he did’t want to use his new name? another fruedian statement of the person) would think the comparisons of their false attacks to real issues of his personal and business relationships are the same. He’s delusional and has to tell himself that to lie so well. Of course, that doesn’t help the rest of us in the Real world, but heh, what do they care when living in a FAIRY TALE?

Funny, I just wrote about this on the last thread about the extremists on the left, acting the the extremists on the right with Bush that they complained of.

“Remember, they are the extremists on the left, that support Obama and act just like the extremists on the right that THEY complained about. They are the angry, bitter, self important and righteous, in other words, the ME society. And they were the same ones who didn’t think a woman should be president and are upset that Hillary didn’t leave Bill when he was unfaithful. Don’t you really feel sorry those folks? And I bet 8-10 of the women have husbands cheeting on them and that is probably another reason they are so upset. They don’t do what they tell others to, forgetting that its none of their business or right to tell people what to do. Oh, did I forget, they are also very authoritarian. Did I mention the extremists, the fanatics of the left?”

Newsweek Exclusive: Top Clinton Supporter John Coale Endorses McCain

John Coale, a prominent Washington lawyer, husband of Fox TV host Greta Van Susteren and a supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, announced today that he was supporting John McCain for president. Coale, who traveled with Sen. Clinton, President Clinton and her family through out the primary season, complained of sexism, and said the Democratic Party is “being taken over by the moveon.org types” in an exclusive interview with Newsweek.com’s Tammy Haddad. He said he tried to prevent Clinton’s brother, Tony Rodham, from attending an August 18th meeting in Scranton, Pa. with McCain campaign surrogate Carly Fiorina. “I urged him not to go and told him it would embarrass his sister, but he has a mind of his own.” Coale says Mr. Rodham asked Ms. Fiorina “about McCain’s Supreme Court picks.”

As a former resident I can attest that Texas has a very weird setup. The lieutenant governor (who was a Dem when Bush was in office) has more power. They have what is called a weak governor which is a largely ceremonial posistion. In addition, if I recall correctly, the Texas legislature is in session a lot less than in other states.
I once read an article describing Bush’s schedule as governor. He came in around nine, worked a couple of hours, then took time for a leisurely lunch and exercise, then returned for two or three more hours. He did not do much.

  • http://milkchaser.blogspot.com Bob White

I proudly wore my W2004 baseball cap this weekend, to complement my “W The President” polo shirt. I do wish Bush had reined in excessive gov’t spending. Part of his legacy will be that he helped oust his own party’s Congressional majority by signing blank checks time after time. But I still admire his foreign policy. It demonstrates American strength and determination.

There is a huge contraction here. It’s a field day for blaming the “left,” but is General Electric and MSNBC the “left”? What about Goldman Sachs, and Exelon? IMO, it is inaccurate to make the Oborg synonymous with long-held democratic values that have traditionally been called liberal or left.

I should add that I did not vote for Bush in 2000, largely because of what was done to McCain in SC. I was a McCain supporter. Instead of Bush, I voted for Harry Browne, the Libertarian candidate. But, after 9/11, Browne attacked Bush for pursuing Al Qaeda into Afghanistan. In 2004, I corrected my mistake and gladly pulled the lever for W.

Those who insist on spreading gossip do Barack Obama no favor. Instead they are doing exactly what the McCain camp wants. McCain blogette should have been a very strong clue. Spreading rumour and gossip is old time politics and opposite to what Obama stands for. Even though people on this blog do not speak for Obama, when you hear on CNN and MSM that Obama supporters are upset or are talking about or spreading something, CNN and MSM are talking about the people on this site and are insinuating that Obama approves of what you all are saying. So please make sure that you have proof to back up what you are saying and that what you are saying is in line with Obama’s message. Please be responsible bloggers. Most women and parents will be sympathetic to Palin and her challenges of a downs syndrome child and a pregnant teen. They will also be sympathetic with that teen. Keep up the negatives and you will cost Obama the election.

The left wing (kooks)part of the Democratic Party has hijacked our (my former) party much like the evangelical wing of the Republican Party hijacked it in the recent past.

I won’t be a part of this – it’s not my party anymore = don’t recognize it, don’t want it, don’t like it – no ethics, no principles, no values, a win at all costs, thuggish, disrespectful bunch of brutes.

The Republicans are going to take back their party – I think they’ve seen the error of their ways by electing a more moderate candidate like McCain.

It will take something drastic for the Dems to come to their senses. I hope it’s a big DEFEAT!

The Obamabots are calling in on both the Obama line and the Independent line. Every single supposedly independent caller has slammed Palin and the daughter’s pregnancy. They’re talking about how “concerned” they are that McCain has selected a VP with absolutely “no experience.” One called who was independent said that a 15 year old that get pregnant out of wedlock shows there is a “problem” with the family. She was corrected that the daughter is actually 17 years old but that is the tone of the calls.

  • Linda

yes, like rapid response, war room, what ever you call it, we all here have access to the “internests” :) , we must send all information to the MSM (main stream media) when ever we can to show the wide support for he story and to get the story out there.

  • Firefly

Although they’re extremists, I wouldn’t call them left or right – they are CORPORATE extremists who think they have the right to decide who the CORPORATE CANDIDATE IS – who the NEW CORPORATE PRESIDENT will be. I guess I’d call them fascists – who have taken over America.

All the blah blah blah about “issues” is just that – smokescreen – there’s no real difference between the parties anymore – it’s all about money and greed and POWER and control – and doing whatever it takes.

Sure, we all used to think that the dems had the highground on the issues – now we know better – they just use those issues (think “equality,” Roe v. Wade, transparency, etc. etc.) to sucker people in. “Impeachment is off the table” Pelosi and her minions have proven it’s only about power.

You’re on the money, Larry. This year has revealed a surreal political landscape in which the Democratic Party is now operating by the Bush/Rove rules. Maybe they feel they can’t capture the Presidency any other way … maybe it’s the combination of events that are rooted in 1968. I hope the Palins sue Daily Kos … I hope every responsible candidate/political operative that appears on Hannity/Colmes speaks with Sean Hannity and totally ignores Alan Colmes before leaving the set … I hope women everywhere in America close ranks behind Sarah Palin and her family, especially her daughter, whether the women will vote for her or not, because the vanishing respect we used to have for each other (or at least pay lip service to each other) is turning this country into a sore. It’s not that the media is “in the tank” for Obama & Co., it now appears its in the septic tank. The illusion the Democratic Party, my party, has cultivated for so long, has been busted.

  • MessyMarcy

I was not a Reagan Democrat — I voted for Carter/Mondale and Mondale/Ferraro. I was not a Bush Democrat — I voted for Gore/Lieberman and Kerry/Edwards. I have voted steadfastly for every Democratic nominee in between those races. The chosen nominee might not have been my first choice, but I always believed he was better than the one selected by the Republicans. And when people ridiculed Democrats as spineless wimps, my response would be that at least they are not actively evil like the Republicans. Neither statement is true this election. I decided a couple of months ago to vote for McCain; and after seeing the attempted sliming of the Palin family by the crazed misogynists who have taken over the Democratic Party, I can say with certainty: I will be a Democrat no more forever.

  • Linda

Thankfully we all don’t have your bad taste.

  • Retired

I guess I would have to ask the question: Who do more Americans identify with, Barack Obama or Sarah Palin? In one sense, McCain and Biden cancel each other out, they are long term Washington pols. Obama and Palin are the fresh faces on the scene that Americans will tend to focus on.

Obama is a Harvard-educated elite married to a Harvard-educated elite. He has never really held a real job, in the sense of what most people consider to be a real job. His one executive experience, that as chairman of a nonprofit that flushed millions of dollars down the toilet, was an abject failure that he is now desperately trying to conceal from the voters.

Palin is a grassroots, blue collar, up from the ranks Governor who eloped with her high school sweetheart because they didn’t have the money for a wedding, had five kids, didn’t take any shit from the oil companies, and is now about to become a grandmother at 44. When she went to Iraq it was to visit the troops that she was in charge of, not on a video event because she was shamed by her opponent.

Who do you trust to best take care of your interests when the chips are down? Who do you trust to best deal with threats to America?

  • candymarl

Yes isn’t that odd? Obama’s wife is an adult and she can fend for herself.

But attack a Down’s Syndrome infant and 17 y/o girl? Fine with us.

Funny thing is the evangelicals were very reluctant to support McCain. Now that Palin has entered the race I’ve read news stories where they are very energized. That could cause Obama some problems in the south. There’s a strong evangelical influence here so Obama may not carry some of the southern states he thought he would.

Also, many black evangelicals are quite conservative. They will be pleased that Palin chose to keep her son knowing what his condition would be. They’ll also admire Palin for standing behind her daughter’s wish to keep her child. At least the Palin family is being consistent.

Panic over these things may be behind the vicious attacks on Palin and her family.

We have had some discussions recently about worry over voter fraud. I have read a great deal about o supporters trying to register felons, etc, and have registered them. I will be calling to find out how my Secty of State goes about verifying voter registration to be legitimate before the election. Besides the smears as a means to derail the competition, I also believe there has been a great deal of illegal voter registration. I suggest knowing your voting laws in your state. It was interesting to note TN, does not return voter rights to felons convicted under the following crimes.

Exceptions -Persons convicted of any of the following, cannot ever have his or her voting rights restored:

Between July 1, 1986, and June 30, 1996 -first degree murder, aggravated rape, treason, or voter fraud

Between July 1, 1996, and June 30, 2006 – murder, rape, treason, or voter fraud

On or after July 1, 2006 – Any of the above, or any degree of murder or rape or any felony offense under TCA Title 39, Chapter 16, parts 1, 4, or 5; or any sexual offense under TCA § 40-39-202(17) or any violent sexual offense under TCA § 4039-202(25) designated as a felony and where the victim of such offense was a minor.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) – Republican presidential candidate John McCain has raised at least $47 million in August. It is his biggest haul of money so far and a sign that he is dispelling doubts about his campaign among donors.A McCain official says the campaign raised $10 million since McCain announced Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate on Friday. Palin has emerged as a popular vice presidential candidate among social conservatives who have held McCain under suspicion.

Yet even I on the really red, (ie. socialist labor pinko) side of the spectrum wonder what a “progressive” really is. I think that liberals adopted it to combat the wussy stink that the Mondale crowd gave the word “liberal”.

Harkening back to the opening of the twentieth century they picked up on the “Progressive Movement”, etc. Besides progressive is not as easily slurred mockingly as LIB-er-al” is and takes up more space in Republican attack adds.

What is missing from all this is the boneyard of bonehead ideas that were abandoned in those early years. Some, like eugenics, another progressive pet cause of those days, were picked up by the wrong sort and forged into the Holocaust. So it goes.

“I have said before and I will repeat again, I think people’s families are off limits, and people’s children are especially off limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics, it has no relevance to governor Palin’s performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president. And so I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories. You know my mother had me when she was 18.”—-Barack Obama

  • rjj

They refused to touch Dubya’s drunk driving record. I wonder if this might have something to do with the implications of Palin’s support of Buchanan. I said that would ingratiate her with generic voters and piss off the Lords of the Media who would subject her to a shitstorm.

From a very limited sample it seems that attempts to negotiate MidEast peace accords or attitudes such as “Fuck’em they don’t vote for us anyway” are associated with negative press and/or one-term presidencies. This would be a pretty flimsy association if it were not for the immunity from scrutiny (and slander) that more obliging candidates and presidents seem to enjoy.

Wonder what that’s all about? Coincidence, probably. Or maybe bigotry of some sort on my part.

The karma involved in this election is astounding. Both parties are being forced to confront circumstances that are of their own making.

I pray everyone comes thru the storm safely, but how ironic that it hits during the RNC, forcing them to step up to the plate and try to erase any memory of President Bush’s neglect. And now the Dems, with millions spent on erecting a Greek temple to launch forth their so called working class god, are probably seriously wondering, WTF were we thinking?

And in the latest twist of irony, the Republicans throw their support behind the woman with the unwed teen mother while the Dems call out for a public stoning and a scarlet letter.

I don’t think they are imitating Rove. I believe Obama is Rove’s creature. The whole campaign has reeked of Rove’s creative/destructive genius, his mastery, and his wit. Rove was facing the probability of the Justice Department falling into the hands of one or the other of two people he had ratfucked in the past. As he is vengeful and vindictive

“We will fuck him. Do you hear me? We will fuck him. We will ruin him. Like no one has ever fucked him.”

and as he had politicized the Justice Department, he would expect nothing less in return. Romney had promised to rid them of one troublesome prosecutor, but that was forestalled with the choice of Palin.

    This is pure conjecture.

    That sure sounds familiar…

Whisper campaigns are designed to keep yourself classy. This has been a tactic of Obama since day one.

People are waking up, and nothing will stop the truth from being revealed… Why does Obama elicit so many to kill free speech? How is it classy to call an honest conservative writer scum?

These tactics used by Obama’s campaign ALONE, should make anyone wary of him as the potential POTUS. Defend him if you wish, I think less of you and your ethics when you do.

Obama and his minions must think they’re going to win the GE the same way they did the primary, by illegal means. This, however, won’t be possible in a nation the size of ours, in an election where each state is winner-take-all, and the outcome won’t be anywhere near a squeaker. An area like Cleveland, for instance, might be subject to rigging–but BO will take it anyway. If Chicago thugs come to southeast Ohio, where I live, the good ole’ boys and girls will meet them at the precinct doors.

Obama’s Parent met as a result of the March on Selma Alabam which took place several years after Barrack’s recorded birth.

So the union you are referring to was a post-facto union.

This confirms one of three things:

    1) Barrack was an immaculate conception that resulted in the most extreme case a very late term birth in recorded history.

    2) Baracks birth certificate is false as it states he was born several years before his parent met.

    3) Barack is lying about selma alabama and his claim to it.

If Obama finally stood up to be counted, then good for him. Its way past time. He should have done the same thing for Hillary, he didn’t. In fact he contributed to it. Brush her off his shoes and shoulders like she was dirt. Shoot her the middle finger. Ridiculing her with his Annie Oakley get your guns comment. Insinuating that she was calling for his assasination when she reminded people that Robert Kennedy was still running for President in June, as a counter argument to people screaming for her to quit the race, insinuating that Hillary was racist because she stated that it took a President, Lyndon Johnson, to sign the Civil Rights Act into law. So if for once in his life, Obama stands up for something that is right, not to mention politically expedient, kudos. but it doesn’t excuse a lifetime of sitting on the sidelines, like his 200 or so “present” votes, his not being in the Senate to vote on controversial bills so he wouldn’t have those votes count against him. He didn’t earn any votes here. He didn’t earn any respect here. You can’t excuse his record of race baiting, sexism, and political exepediency. There is too much of that already in the public view for him to escape it now.

In the Linux console, if you enter the following commands, you can learn the secrets of a political dirty trick. First, look up the host of ‘sarahpalingayrights.com’ to get the site’s IP address.

    FOR EXAMPLE

    host sarahpalingayrights.com
    sarahpalingayrights.com has address 74.208.74.232

Then use the same command to look up the domain name pointer of that IP address.

    host 74.208.74.232
    232.74.208.74.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer obamadefense.com

    Well, well. “Obamadefense.com,” eh?

And what happens if you enter obamadefense.com on your browser’s address line?

Why, you’re redirected to none other than FightTheSmears.com, the official Barack Obama site that’s supposed to be defending him against smears.

Looks like they may have a second purpose: to generate a few smears of their own.

    (Hat tip: sk.)

    UPDATE at 8/30/08 11:14:12 am:

Here’s another site that traces back to obamadefense.com: ObamaTaxCut.com.

    UPDATE at 8/30/08 11:24:46 am:

Two more web sites that share the IP address of obamadefense.com:

John McCain opposes the new GI Bill, but why?
    John McCain Prefers War

    UPDATE at 8/30/08 12:39:29 pm:

Please note that this is not proof that the Obama campaign is behind this deceptive web site; that’s why the title ends with a question mark. But it’s definitely not what it seems.

    UPDATE at 8/30/08 2:16:54 pm:

There is apparently no connection between these attack sites and the official Obama campaign; to get to the bottom of it I emailed the owner of an associated site, and here’s his reply:

    I run ObamaTaxCut.com, or actually alchemytoday.com/obamataxcut

I think the person who registered the domain and forwarded traffic to it also owns/ran ObamaDefense.com — this used to be a separate site with short defenses of various factually inaccurate charges against Obama during the primary, but the owner changed it to redirect to Obama’s site after the campaign made one themselves.

    UPDATE at 8/30/08 3:20:31 pm:

One last comment on this: the point still stands that it’s more than a little slimy to be a supporter of the “progressive” campaign of Barack Obama, then turn around and use Sarah Palin’s pro-gay rights positions against her in a creepy anonymous web site (that suddenly turns up highly placed on Google).

But this is one area in which Palin could actually appeal to many disgruntled Hilary supporters—so anything goes in the wonderful, tolerant world of the left.

    UPDATE at 8/30/08 7:14:27 pm:

The ‘sarahpalingayrights.com’ site is now being redirected to Wikipedia.

    UPDATE at 8/30/08 8:51:01 pm:

And now it’s being redirected to ObamaTaxCut.com.

I’m still getting the hang of the idea that I’m supporting a Republican for the first time in my life, so Friday morning I sent a $50 “starter donation” just to get my feet wet and test out if I could live with myself after doing so. ;-)

Answer: I’m still here, although it feels a bit awkward, kind of like wearing a new brand of tennis shoes on a run. So I apparently can survive my new life as an Independent, with a bit of getting-used-to. I’ll be sending another $200 from my next paycheck. Referred by: Pelosi. It keeps HRC’s name out of it, and at the same time sends the RNC a clear message as to why I’m there.

    More cattiness:

If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.”

    –Mark Twain

And this has always, always been my favorite:

I love cats because I love my home and after a while they become its visible soul.

    - Jean Cocteau

here is the reason why Oboma should not be in office. Frist he is a socialist do you know what that means? Or do you live off of the goverment right now? If he is elected you will not get anything from him, do you think that you will? People today are tired of the same old thing, then get the hell off of the boob tube and make a difference for your country. Times are bad but only because we are letting them get bad. If we put oboma in office all that you work for will go to people you have no clue deserve it because the goverment will be handing it to them. Do you Work? Because if you do let me tell you of the money that is being given to people that don’t work they just sit at home on welfare and pop out more babies. WE MUST NOT GIVE INTO THIS KIND OF STUFF ANYMORE. Please I am not saying to Vote MaCain But god Don’t vote obama.
