Tonight on NQR: Our View with Patsy & Sugar

Our View joins the regular NQR lineup!

Patsy and Sugar’s first show on NQR was such a hit with listeners that we knew we had to bring them back for a regular program. We’re thrilled to announce that from now on Our View will be filling the 9pm ET time slot on Thursdays (except for next week — see our note* below).

Patsy is the inimitable Soldier4Hillary, whose YouTube videos have been the hit of the Hillary blogs (including this one), while Sugar is a NoQuarter contributor whose own blog is the irreverent and always terrific Sugar N Spice. They make a fantastic on-air team, and their view of this election is some of the sharpest and most entertaining analysis you’ll hear.

Listen to the livestream broadcast tonight from 9pm to 10pm ET on NQR. The call-in line for questions is (347) 677-0792, and the chat room will be open.

If you miss the live program, an audio archive will be available on NQR right after the show.

*Next Thursday, September 11, please join us for a very special edition of Bud White’s Hidden Agenda. Bud will be interviewing Thurston Clark, the noted Kennedy historian and author of The Last Campaign: Robert F. Kennedy and 82 Days That Inspired America. That’s at 9pm ET on NQR.

Then the following Thursday, September 19, Patsy and Sugar will be back with Our View. Don’t miss it!

    From A Conservative Blog;

    The RNC Displayed PUMA Colors

    The Orange Revolution
Did anyone notice all the orange in the crowd at the Republican Convention? Some Democrats did.

    Comment by Zeke 2008-09-04 00:12:23

Any one know what the Orange cloths were? A number of women were waving Orange polyester fabric around and unless they were from the “Sovereign State of Tennessee” I would like to buy a vowel…

    Comment by WMCB | 2008-09-04 00:23:54

Orange is the color of PUMA. Hillary wore it for her speech last week. The entire Alaskan delegation decided to wave Orange as a shout out to PUMAs.

And John McCain wore an orange tie.

So Biden says that Obama in intended on looking for crimes committed by Bush and to prosecute him if he finds them.

    1. The perfect schedule of an ADD.

    2. The perfect recipe for bankrupting the country, start the road of strife between the parties.

    3. The perfect way to raise moral in the military as CIC.

    4. The perfect way to make America’s enemies jump with joy.

    5. The perfect way to lower the dollar and raise the price of crude to 6 dollars a gallon.

And then he says he is going to bring America together.

Those who choose Obaiden, choose bankruptcy.

omg I wish I had known that BEFORE watching!

    How cool!

ok now HOW do I get a (free?) bumpersticker?
    I keep asking that. lol

I am going to try to focus on important issues from here on in. The media loves to distract with unimportant flashy items (she wears funny shoes! Her husband got a DUI 20+ years ago!).

I like to pull back and shed my predispositions as much as possible, and look at the big picture.

Because I own my vote. The media does not, and neither party does.

Time to get the straight dope on Palin and Religion…so we can make our choice with facts, not rumor…. (By the way, her hubby got the BEFORE before they were married…)

Here’s a well-researched rundown on Palin and her religious journey…

Besides, it would take at least 200 years to sort out the Bush criminal record. ;-)

“2 memoirs but not authored any legislation”

    FABULOUS line.

it’s my feeling that they wore the orange for women–WOMENCOUNT organization’s color.

  • candymarl

Of course issuing Articles of Impeachment upon Democrats reaching the majority would have helped solve this problem.

Nancy “it’s off the table” Pelosi took care of that.

  • Lark

Barack is smart. Prosecuting Bush will give him everything he wants. When his second term comes up, the country would be in such a bad shape and Congress is such disarray, the world in such turmoil, that authoritarianism and dictatorship a la Putin would make perfect sense. And it would be a good reason to deflect blame and responsibility from him and towards others, which is the way he operates.

  • Dawnelle Leona Del Puma

    at least!

Perry I believe there may be a few who think even X dems like me will just FORGIVE and FORGET the last 8 years of tragedy under BUSH

    not so fast

I’m also glad Sarah didn’t sing GW’s praises or that would have been an instant deal killer for me

we want reform from all sides and it’s admirable that the party who brought all this ON is going to try to CLEAN it up

hopefully they will pick some D’s and I’s for their cabinet to keep it real

    Sarah seems cool about it
And McC does too (but we’ll have to wait and see)

God help us if the Republicans get too OVER zealous and cocky it could back fire on them at the last minute!

Stay quiet NEO JERKS (if you can)

it’s obvious the LOONIE LEFT is unable to

I GOT SOMETHING FOR YOU MCCAIN BACKERS AND FORMER HILLARY VOTERS AND ALL PUMAS
I WAS CONTACTED BY THE BBC FOR A REVIEW OF PALINS SPEECH. I GAVE IT AND THE RESPONSE WAS A REQUEST FOR AN INTERVIEW. THATS RIGHT THE BBC NPR RADIO WANTS AN INTERVIEW FROM A FORMER HILLARY LOYALIST THAT IS NOW FOR MCCAIN!!!

I formed a group in the wake of Hillary Clintons failed attempt to secure The Whitehouse. During this Primary season a lot of Clinton supporters found themselves up against the Main Stream Media in America. The Media had selected Obama as their favorite and skipped reporting all of the facts about this man. When Hillary Clinton voters were forced to research the credentials of the man Obama we found a wealth of information that lacked any real substance that would entitle him to securing our loyalty or votes. The only track record that could be established was made through his character associations and radical supporters from foreign Nations such as Cuba, Iran, Venezuela and terrorist organizations such as Hamas. We have also found his citizenship to be questionable regarding his Indonesian stepfather having adopting him. All of these issues made Clinton supporters question the judgment of The Democratic Party’s selection of Obama as the Nominee.
Sara Palin delivered a fantastic charismatic speech Wednesday night in America. She touched on the issues regarding Obama that we Hillary supporters had self discovered in our amateur journalism and blogs on the Internet. She showed that the change that all of America feels as necessary can be achieved by placing our vote with John McCain. As you watched her deliver her speech as a woman you were able to see her inner strength that we so admired Hillary Clinton. No she is not our Girl but she is a woman of intelligence. She may even be stronger than Hillary by having issued a direct challenge regarding Obama and Biden. She will not back down from this intense debate. She is very knowledgeable. She has extended the woman’s movement that was reborn during Clinton’s campaign. Women now believe once again that you can be a mother and fight for our rights to be elected to one of the 2 highest offices in our USA. There will be a strong movement among women voters in Nov. They will cross party lines or completely reregister their party to help defeat the man that stole the Whitehouse from Hillary Clinton. Yes we can, yes we will be heard and yes McCain will be the 44th President of The United States of America. We will display our political yard signs McCain/Palin beside our Hillary Clinton signs. We will support and know when the Republicans speak about the shortcomings with an Obama Presidency it will be the truth not the smears he will try to spin them as. Why because we were forced to embark on a self discovery of whom the man Obama is.

    They had their chance!

Pelosi took impeachment off the table. Now, I don’t want to hear it.

as long as they don’t have Sarah’s “spiritual mentor” of 10 or more years on TAPE for SALE in the rectory – spewing trash and hate of a whole race GROUP of innocent NOT TO BLAME people???? or throwing flames outside abortion clinics??????

I’m ok with her religion and don’t really need to know more as that to me is OUTSIDE of the position she is being asked to perform

    Obama: Impeachment is not acceptable
    July 2, 2007 - USA Today

    >>>Obama said he would not back such a move, although he has been distressed by the “loose ethical standards, the secrecy and incompetence” of a “variety of characters” in the administration….

“There’s a way to bring an end to those practices, you know: vote the bums out,” the presidential candidate said, without naming Bush or Cheney. “That’s how our system is designed.”

The term for Bush and Cheney ends on Jan. 20, 2009. Bush cannot constitutionally run for a third term, and Cheney has said he will not run to succeed Bush.

Obama, a Harvard law school graduate and former lecturer on constitutional law at the University of Chicago, said impeachment should not be used as a standard political tool.

“I think you reserve impeachment for grave, grave breaches, and intentional breaches of the president’s authority,” he said.

“I believe if we began impeachment proceedings we will be engulfed in more of the politics that has made Washington dysfunction,” he added. “We would once again, rather than attending to the people’s business, be engaged in a tit-for-tat, back-and-forth, non-stop circus.”

I’ve seen two sources now that say Palin (and Giuliani) had to wing parts of their speeches because the teleprompter guy kept screwing up, running text during applause.

  • JoseyJ

Obama’a ideology of Black Liberation Theology, that he learned for 20 years at the feet of Rev. Wright, was evident throughout the primary as Obama “brushed Hillary off” the bottom of his shoe and coat and laughed along with the crowds – like they do at Trinity.

And Obama’s race-baiting and false charges of racism against the Clintons was straight from Rev. Wright’s ideology.

This is a perfect example of numbskull analysis — Andrew Sullivan reveals that Wasilla AK has a meth problem. http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/09/wasilla-the-met.html

Ditto many communities across the U.S., of course, but what does this have to do with Palin’s VP qualifications?

  • Hillary the President

“because the teleprompter guy kept screwing up, running text during applause.”

I wonder he/she made the same mistakes during other speakers’ speeches.

  • katmandu

    Thanks for this great citation.

  • K. Wynne

I agree with you wholeheartedly, except for one thing. Hillary is stronger because she continued her campaign to the finish line, despite the daily egregious sexist attacks by the MSM and the screams for her to quit. That took guts and strength that few have to have endured what she had to endure.

The BIG difference between her and Sarah is that the republican party is coming out swinging in defense of Sarah. Hillary NEVER got that kind of support from either obama or the DNC. Shame on them. They will pay big time for their efforts to destroy this extraordinary woman.

Hillary made Sarah Palin’s pick as VP to be possible. Even Sarah knows that!

  • K. Wynne

    Hillary wore orange too!

Dangle your preps all you like. This ex-dem agrees with you, that if the R’s get too cocky and start pretending that they don’t own a good deal of the mess we’re all in, they won’t earn this cross-over vote…not that they care.

  • LogicallySpeaking

It’s easy to be act tough or act full of hope and change when you have people backing you.

My head is spinning. Lots of dots forming a straight line.. but what is (has been) going on here?

Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour raised money for and helped Obama gain acceptance to Harvard. al-Mansour is a U.S. contact for and principle advisor to top members of the Saudi Royal family seeking to do business and exert influence in the United States. One of his clients is Prince Alwaleed, the nephew if King Abdallah of Saudi Arabia. Alwaleed, the world’s 19th wealthiest person, owns a large chunk of News Corp., the holding company that controls Fox News.

Yeah, and Andrew Sullivan has an “I want to be gangbanged without a condom by anonymous men” problem.

He’s a disgrace to gay men everywhere.

  • JohninCA

The Bushies have been a disaster for the Republican party.

What the people want is for McCain/Palin to triangulate by taking on both parties with a reform agenda.
