Hollywood Hypocrisy

It’s no surprise that the neurotic, egomaniacal and youth- and appearance-oriented men who work in Hollywood’s dream factory would prefer to keep powerful women in their rightful place: relegated to the big and little screen. In other words, the world of fantasy. Sure, they compensate for their deep seated sexism by going to fundraisers and donating to all the right causes like NOW, NARAL, and the Democratic party, but they tend to keep their chauvanism to themselves (to see a hilarious depiction of the selfishness, preening and posturing exhibited by Hollywood types who get “politicall involved”, check out the episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm where Cheryl hosts a fundraiser for the NRDC. Brilliant).

That is, until now.

And the winner of the FU Award goes to: Rod Lurie, director of the high-minded film The Contender and creator of the short-lived television series Commander in Chief, which dealt with women catapulted into the highest of national offices, although accidentally of course. Apparently Lurie loves the idea of a woman in these powerful political roles but the actual reality makes him see red.

“Picking a woman is an absolute strategic idea from McCain’s point of view. He’s not talking about governing right now. The idea of this woman [Sarah Palin] actually facing down Putin and negotiating with Medvedev is idiotic,” he added.

It is this woman again, you know, I have no problems with a woman as President, just not this woman (Hillary Clinton).

Palin appears to be an intelligent and yes tough woman, Obama is a narcissist craving adulation. Which person would you feel safe with facing down Putin?

      • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

An Alaskan Citizen describes Palin’s handling of corruption in her state.

She reminds me personally of our Alaska wolverine which will fight anything in its path if it sees fit to do so. No respect at all for size or position.

        • felizarte

I think that those men in power should be more worried about facing up to Palin. This is clearly a case of over compensation on the part of the men saying those in the media, politics, and blogosphere, for their own feelings of inadequacy vis-a-vis a beautiful, intelligent, courageous woman who won’t back down on her own principles.

i think that is exactly why the blogosphere fed by the obama two-faced machine (you know, he’s publicly honorable while his operatives are feeding the frenzy) are being so vicious with Palin. she’s the perfect anti-Obama. She’s genuine, says what she means and means what she says. she doesn’t eat arugula. she actually has experience with energy issues. she has executive experience. she visited iraq to visit alaska national guardsmen before she was picked for VP. she is not a veteran senator, with plugs in his hair and a lobbyist for a son, who plagiarized when he went to law school and plagiarized others’ speeches. the list goes on.

        • Steven Mather

Wolverines are exceptionally intelligent and persistent. Following a radio-collared wolverine that was exhibiting a curiously wide-ranging pattern of movement, biologists discovered that the wolverine was tracking an elk it was slowly hunting. Each night the wolverine would creep towards the elk and then strike at its throat. The elk, after being hit or missed would flee. Eventually, the elk was weakened enough that it succumbed to the wolverine’s attacks.

The wolverine practised the concept of “the death of a thousand cuts.”

      • jrterrier

you said it perfectly. i had not yet realized that it is the same excuse of “not this woman.” hillary was too tough and reminded some of their first wife. palin is too attractive so they get to refer to her as bambi, something i heard on a liberal radio show. i would prefer to have mccain and ‘barracuda’ sarah (her nickname when she led her highschool basketball team to the state championship) face down putin than arugula-eating, community organizer obama and hair-plug, plagiarizing, blowhard biden anyday.

Palin would speak to Putin without any problem and if she needed help I am sure she could get 300 ‘foreign policy’ advisers like Obama. We have fallen for the PR (Hollywood included…worst ones)…women represent 16% or elected members in government (that includes all parties), we are ranked 70th in the world for electing women into government, women own 1% of titled land and women are 70% of those living in poverty.

Yup, lets let Hollywood tell us that “Its that that woman”! Give me a break…I know misogyny when I see it… :-(

      • Dr. Kate

I’d prefer Clinton staring down Putin. But Sarah Palin can also handle it.

        Barky would wet his pants.

        • mimi

Why are we letting the msm attack Palin on her experience when Barky has no more?

I just heard David Gergen hammer that point home: that she didn’t even have a passport until 2006, that she’s only visited 2 countries. How did her passport info become so readily available when we were trying all Primary long to see 0BigEars? And before his little political junket how many countries had he been to beside Indonesia, as kid, Pakistan, that muslim stronghold in India and Kenya to see his relatives? And all of these were short trips with the exception of his time in Indonesia when he was between the ages of 6 and 10.

We are letting the msm get away with bloody murder again. I hope the Republicans are preparing something that shines a light on just how many trips and the duration that 0bama has taken. And he’s running for president. Gov Palin… NOT!

      • jrterrier

read this stuff on palin, and this was in 2006 before she was ever on anyone’s VP list:

“Palin, a Republican, said the most important issues facing Alaska as she takes office are developing energy supplies and building an international role for the state.

“We must have reserves and explore for more to energize our homes, our businesses, for new industry to come alive, to heat our economy and allow self sufficiency while gifting our nation with safe domestic supplies,” she said.

“Couple this with ANWR [Arctic National Wildlife Refuge] oil and inexhaustible alternative-energy sources, and Alaska can lead the nation in a much-needed U.S. energy plan,” Palin said.

She asked why Alaska couldn’t fuel the nation and lead the world.

“America is looking for answers. She’s looking for a new direction, the world is looking for a light. It’s Governor [Walter] Hickel that reminds me, that light can come from America’s great north star; it can come from Alaska,” she said.

Central to this plan will be natural gas, and a proposed $25 billion natural-gas pipeline to take North Slope gas to Midwestern markets will be the first focus of her administration.

Putin’s probably getting rusty from all the boredom.

      • moi61537

Wow. Really good description. Why do men get a pass on experience and women with equivalent experience are questioned about it? Never, could figure that out. I have been in meetings where a woman would have a wonderful suggestion, no one responds, or even hears. Five minutes later a man makes the same suggestion or statement and everyone is so impressed with its brilliance. The fellow did not steal the idea. He really did not hear it. As an observer, it was shocking to see the sub-conscious sexism and rejection of ideas offered by women. Totally shocking.

        • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

I’ve been there, too. It IS shocking, especially being the woman who came UP with the “good idea” to only see all the credit go to the man who parrots it.

And that is EXACTLY what happened this year to Clinton. She had all of these great policies, then Obama would parrot them. HE would get the accolades (“he has a great policy on X. Oh, and Clinton’ s is similar.”), and she would barely get a mention. His Olypics ad abt 5 million green jobs is a case in point. He stole that from Clinton – she had been discussing that for months and months. He ends up using it shortly before they booted her out for good, and all of a sudden, the media is paying attention!! Grrrr.

The media has concealed Obama campaign’s initial nasty response to Palin – dissing her and small towns.
Obama touts his managerial skills with 2500 campaign employees while dismissing Palin managing the Alaska government.
But his campaign’s initial nasty response to Palin goes straight to Obama’s CHARACTER - of allowing his campaign to adopt an “anything goes” attitude against Hillary during the primary.

“Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. Governor Palin shares John McCain’s commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush’s failed economic policies — that’s not the change we need, it’s just more of the same.”

        • Idiocracy08

Obama touts his managerial skills with 2500 campaign employees while dismissing Palin managing the Alaska government.

He also said he was more qualified on foreign matters than Hillary or McCain cause he lived in Indonesia for a few years as a child and went to Pakistan…in 1981…

        • FranSC

Sorry, JoseyJ. But O has nothing to do with his campaign. I heard someone say that his campaign is the only thing he has ever run, but he is not even running that. The campaign is being run by movie-director-wanna-be, Axelrod, the Venture Capitalist Co in CA that Nancy got for him, and MoveOn.Org that Dean put him onto.

It was easy for O to say he would fire any of his campaign people who continued to talk about the Palin family troubles. The problem with that is they are doing their hachet jobs online where they are unidentifiable. As a matter of fact, O’s whole campaign beginning with Iowa and the caucus fraud has been online. Also note how the pundits supporting him haven’t done a thing different since he made that threatening announcement because they don’t work for the campaign – they volunteer their support, but are paid by the cable outlets.

        • jrterrier

yes, it’s as if she hadn’t been elected governor. and she’s been a governor as long as obama has been a senator except she’s actually accomplished lots including contracting to build a natural gas pipeline that had been stalled before she came into office. oh and yes, she’s actually governed since she became governor not run for office and appear on talk shows.

        • http://! Clinton Fan

Anyone who thinks that “number of people supervised” somehow equates to “degree of responsibility” has their head up their ass.

Let’s put it this way–Obama was a state senator representing a district in Chicago of many thousands of constituents. As a US senator, he represents a few million.

A Commanding Officer of a nuclear submarine has fewer than 200 souls under his direct supervision, but, if his vessel is fully loaded, he’s got weaponry that can go a long way, hit a target precisely, and cause a shitload of damage to many cities and millions of people.

Who’s the one with the GREATER responsibility, here?

Executive responsibility is what it is. It doesn’t matter how “big” your state is, the issues are the same–you have to provide public works, public safety, administration, public records and vital statistics, public health, emergency management, etc., etc., and so forth.

It doesn’t matter if it’s Rhode Island, Virginia, Arkansas, Texas, Illinois or Alaska–the fundamentals of the job are the same. Some jobs have specific challenges–California is the sixth largest economy in the world–that’s a huge responsibility; Alaska is remote with harsh weather; you have to make fewer assets go a longer way; Virginia has to deal constantly with federal encroachment involvement in their state functioning simply because they’ve got a load of military assets located there.

I think any suggestion that having Axelrod boss around your campaign staffers counts as “executive experience” though, is flat-out fucking absurd.

wrote Bill today I am posting and sharing my letter with you PUMAS. I encourage you all to do two things
      1. Write him
      2. Don’t watch Fox Thursday Night at 8 pm Eastern Time. If he is doing this to get his ratings up lets PUMATIZE Him If Obama contacted Bill Lets ignore the idiot.. I have heard enough of his lies. This is a sign of his failing to connect with Clinton Dems! We are making a difference we must keep up the strong stance and strong words.

      My Letter:

      Dear Bill,

I regret to inform you that I find the decision to air Obama on the night of Mccain’s official Nomination very distasteful. If he contacted you you could have refused instead of pandering to the man. I am a former Democrat as of June 3, 2008. I am proudly displaying McCain/Palin yard signs beside by Hillary Clinton sign. I will not be watching your program Thursday. I do not want to hear any more “JUST WORDS” from this man. If the media had properly vetted him or downplayed their shivering legs, people like me would not have spent hours researching on our own who this guy was. We found he had no experience or record of substance. Therefore we moved to his character judgement and personally Rev. Wrights racism did not blend well with falsely accusing the Clinton’s of being racist. I cannot support a man whom said his father figure was a communist poet named Frank Marshall Davis. I cannot vote for a man who is in bed with Ayres. I cannot vote for a man that didn’t respect the women of this primary season. I cannot vote for a man that used Joe Biden and his son to discredit Larry Sinclair. By the way those false trumped up charges in Delaware have been dropped. Why don’t you do what no other has done and report the whole story.. you know the accusations about drugs in 1999 and how the Obama camp has tried discredit this man because he had a few problems in his past. By using fake charges to arrest this man to get rid of Sinclair from the media and then securing the VP slot… isn’t that a form of pay to play? Your viewers would find this story more interesting than listening to more of Obama’s spun tales. Sinclair is near the Republican Convention… interview him.

You can call me a pinhead if you wish but sir I love my America more than I could ever pledge my unconditional vote to a Party that imploded with an unethical selection.

I am a proud member of the PUMA movement.

Yes, Bill has been begging to interview Obama. If he is not tough on him now, he will lose ALL credibility with his viewers. It’s not likely Obama can stand up to any scrutiny.

Yeah …. he’s the guy I’m gonna listen to ….

The son of internationally syndicated cartoonist Ranan Lurie, he was born in Israel but moved to the United States at a young age, growing up in Greenwich, Connecticut and Honolulu, Hawaii.

Graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1984, he served in the U.S. Army as an Air Defense Artillery officer, then became an entertainment reporter and film critic, including stints at Channel 12 in Fairfield, Connecticut, the New York Daily News, Premiere, Movieline, Entertainment Weekly, Los Angeles magazine, and talk radio shows at KMPC and KABC, where his tactical on-air bets with Martin Landau, Mel Gibson and James Cameron that they would win the Oscar resulted in them having to “pay up” at the Academy Awards ceremony by publicly thanking him in their acceptance speeches.

As an investigative reporter in the entertainment industry, his discovery of unethical and illegal practices at tabloid newspapers gained him national exposure on programs such as 60 Minutes, Entertainment Tonight, Larry King Live, Nightline, and Geraldo. His irreverent style, however (he once described Danny DeVito as a “testicle with arms”), often raised controversy and got him banned from screenings.

Let’s hope they keep it up — it’s making women madder every day! And we’re going to send them a BIG message in November!

If it’s okay for AAs to vote identity politics it’s okay for women, too,

    • s. hall

bayareavoter — Damn right. The message we send Barky is that the women put McCain/Palin over the top. Laura Bush said last night it would give her great pleasure to say the Republican party will give us our first woman VP. It will give me great pleasure to see a wonderful woman like Sarah in that job.

So now we know it was the soft bigotry of the Democratic Party against women and not just against Hillary that gave the nomination to Barky. I will never trust them again.

      • Karma

        Even without this election.

I always thought that the Republicans would beat the Democrats to the glass ceilings of racism and sexism.

When Elizabeth Dole and Colin Powell were considered for the top spot. They offered serious candidates with more experience then running in fixed elections.

It is shameful what the Dems have done. They’ve stolen, what should be a historic moment, from us all with their manipulations.

  • Steve-O

Less than a week ago, McCain announced his pick for Running Mate and the Liberal media and activists already know how she would react in a hypothecial future situation.

I would understand the reactions, if McCain picked the waitress from some I-Hop or the girl that does the rooms at some Holiday-Inn and even they deserve the benefit of doubt, but discrediting the current Governor or the largest state in the union?

The more they twist and shout, the more convinced I am that Palin was a brilliant choice.

    • dcmediagirl

Less than a week ago, McCain announced his pick for Running Mate and the Liberal media and activists already know how she would react in a hypothecial future situation.

“Liberal media”? Are you kidding? Ask the Clintons, particularly Hillary, how “liberal” the media are. Pro-Obama? Absolutely. Willing to carry water for Democrats the way Fox “News” does for Republicans? Not so much.

      • beverly leslie

With all due respect, someone from the left who had listened to shows such as Democracy now (you cant get further left) air america etc. I used to think the idea of a liberal media was insane. I thought cnn, msnbc were conservative. My perspective has shifted and I can see the complaint from conservatives about “liberal media”. My uncle used to complain about the “liberal” media and I thought he was crazy. I now see his frustration.

I will however say this media also pushed GWB on us just as it is pushing Barky O. So I would say they are more liberal than conservative but if they have an agenda with a candidate all bets are off.

        • Lucinda

I will however say this media also pushed GWB on us just as it is pushing Barky O. So I would say they are more liberal than conservative but if they have an agenda with a candidate all bets are off.

They aren’t liberal or conservative, they’re self-interested and self-oriented. They’re pushing the one that they think will be the biggest newsmaker, because that’s where their 6-7 figure salaries come from. I’d be willing to bet that there are some news anchors who are hoping that if Obama loses there will be riots in the streets across America, and they can have face time 24/7 for at least a week. All the while, they will sanctimoniously tell us that they were right and we (the American people) were wrong.

        • yttik

I agree with beverly leslie, DC Media girl, with all due respect of course.

Just as misogyny and sexism cannot be pinned on only one party, the media agenda can not be said to be liberal or right leaning anymore. The media obviously has an agenda, at one point it was to enable and protect George Bush. At this point it is to enable and protect Obama.

          • dcmediagirl

Ummm..that was exactly my point. They’re not “liberal”. They’re biased but not “liberal”. They allowed GWB to get away with his cavalcade of lies, rubbished the Clintons and are now carrying Obama’s water. You can’t argue that media that would promote the war in Iraq and GWB’s many other follies is “liberal”.

            • uttik

No, but you can now argue that the media’s “warm tingle up their leg” for Obama is certainly making then look like “the liberal media” they have often been accused of being.

              • Perry Logan

I think it’s further proof that Obama is not really a liberal. He’s more like the corporate guy.

I lived and worked in the entertainment industry in Hollywood for years. Truthfully, I have what are considered very liberal views on most everything… However, many of the Hollywood upper echelon take themselves far too seriously. Now that I am out of that environment – and in the real world – I see that they are, for the most part, living in a state of arrested development.

These days, whenever they have an *opinion,* I fast-forward…

They are definitely out of touch. And they promote an agenda that is in keeping with their point of view.

I’ve never been happy with Hollywood’s view of AAs for example. They have reinforced the negative stereotypes and have helped an entire generation of kids cling to thug culture.

Hollywood is irrelevant. And I’m a person on the periphery of the industry as well.

Hey how did McCain know Obama would fall into the trap of comparing his achievements with the VP nominee?

    • s. hall

agent77 — hasn’t Obama demeaned himself by running against the VP instead of the President? If he was so worried about the women’s vote he could have made nice with Hillary supporters. No the first thing Obama said after Hillary left the race is — they will come home because there’s no place for them to go. This guy could negotiate with the Russians lol — he can’t even negotiate for the women’s vote. He can’t even negotiate for the women’s vote.

    • TeakWoodKite

Because McCain knows BO is a toon. As part of BO make up he can’t stand strong women with experience. He will react the same way. He avoids McCain and thinks by attacking Palin, who he percieves as “weak” he will get to McCain.

This fool BO is so predictable you can set your watch by him…but hell if I know what time the IGIT runs on.

      • Rob G in Chicago

I recall several months ago that McCain and Obama were working together on “bi-partisan” legislation (I seem to recall relating to ethics. There was a dust-up and public spat between the two when Obama went public with something, but McCain and Obama soon made a show of patching up their differences. Both saw their working together as a useful exercise to benefit their planned presidential campaigns, but McCain saw Obama’s true character, and his bad experience and his recollection of Obama’s character and tactics appear to be paying dividends now. I think that wiley old McCain has Barry’s “number”, and will play this neophyte like a cheap fiddle.

If a man said that he had unsafe sex with a woman’s husband before her children were born and the Husband has a history of untruths:

Should the woman get an HIV Test??

Should she have the children tested??

Should she talk to the accuser??

Do the Wife and Children have a right to know??

Can she talk to the Husband’s doctor??

Does the Doctor have an obligation to tell her the danger she and her children may have been put in??

Should she be allowed to talk to the A. G. that had her husband’s accuser locked up, after the accuser had a press conference to tell the public that he and hubby had unprotected sex.

Does the A.G., who is the son of the husband’s partner, have a duty to inform the women of the danger she and her children may have been put in.

What are the rights of any women and children in this issue??

Are those rights enough or should they be expanded??

Should medical records be part of a Presidential
    Race??

Has Obama had an HIV test??

Does he plan to get one??

    Will he release the results??

Is the Press failing to full fill their “Right To Know” obligation??

  • beverly leslie

Yes, I am in live in W. Hollywood and work in Hollywood and I can tell you the left has collectively lost their minds over this woman.

I cannot tell you the arguments I had with people at work yesterday, talking about this woman, her baby, troopergate, and how she will have to drop out of the race. I pointed out the truth to these people about all subjects, and of course they only knew the half stories. I asked them if they understood how sexist, and rabid they were acting. Of course they failed to see my comparison of them to the looney right they love to crucify. All I had to do was throw truth at them to melt their insanity. It however, was not effective in their rabid insistanse this woman was no good, and had to step down. I don’t think I endured myself to anyone calling them on their deep seated crap, and to be honest, I really don’t care.

This election really has me doubting the “goodness” of humanity. No longer will the Democrats get my vote freely, they will really have to reform to earn my support any longer. Women must fight this behavior, speak up, use your voice to support other women and speak the truth. When armed with truth and rational clear thinking, you cannot lose. All people need to say NO to this disgrace that is barky oblah blah.

My daughter called this morning (she’s on location), and she’s sick of the constant Palin slut/whore/redneck jokes. She wanted some background info on Palin.

Sadly, no matter how much praise my daughter gets or how many awards she wins (including the Chicago Horror Film Festival Award for Best makeup), she still has to interview for most jobs so the directors and producers can see if she’s “a personality fit.” Translation: Is she cute enough and funny enough to hang out with us?

Fortunately, she’s “cute”; however, she’s really getting tired of the hateful crap she has to put up with. And not having drunk the O-flavored Kool-Aid, she has to be extremely careful these days.

Until the Clinton and Palin attacks, my daughter actually thought she was just in the wrong business and that maybe that type of treatment didn’t happen in other jobs.

Maybe I should thank the Obots for waking my daughter up.

The only thing that the Democrat Party seems to have is — ABORTION. Yet this same democrat party allowed Alito & Roberts onto the Supreme Count and dumb ass Obama was going to vote FOR Roberts.

Why did the Governor of Louisiana, Bobby Jindal, receive praise as being on the short VP pick for McCain but the same doesn’t seem to hold true for Sarah Palin?

Didn’t Jindal and Palin take office for Governor in the same year and have similar experience? If you compare Jindal and Palin’s record; who shows more leadership and better judgment?

Also why does Obama compare his experience with Palin when she was the Mayor? Why doesn’t he compare his experience with Palin as Governor?

Either way there really is no comparison. Obama is not ready to lead he only Hopes he’s elected so he can continue to Change his mind.

    • Lark

Also why does Obama compare his experience with Palin when she was the Mayor? Why doesn’t he compare his experience with Palin as Governor?

Because he was using talking points produced from Knowles research when he was running against her for the Governorship of Alaska. These talking points are 4 years old and today they are worthless. But don’t tell it to Obama, who usually or always does not what he is talking about. He is consume with selfishness.

The idea of this woman [Sarah Palin] actually facing down Putin and negotiating with Medvedev is idiotic,”

I say is rather brilliant. One could argue that the presence of Palin alone has the potential to change Russian political scape towards democracy without irritating a single Russian citizen. Why? Because Russian women would see Palin’s political accomplishment, see that her environment was one similar to that of their country – after all Alaska used to be Russian territory – and after admiring them, proceed to emulate them.

I say Palin would be Putin’s nemesis and Medvedev’s nightmares.

They used his social security number to access Steele’s credit report, then attempted to embarrass and humiliate him by making public everything in that personal credit report.

    http://insightanalytical.wordpress.com/2008/09/03/what-makes-obama-run-from-the-chicago-reader-december-1995/

This real-time story from the time Obama just started out in politics gives a picture of his reputation back then…Change? Yeah…not so much message, but as a person who has obviously allowed himself to be swallowed up…The story has a “glow” to it even then and it sanitizes the Obama job on Alice Palmer, his mentor… but the actual quotes from Obama are something that are worth reading…

Hypocrisy?? Well, he certainly has CHANGED….

    • Boxer Mum 06

Obama doesn’t need another career. As a civil rights lawyer, teacher, philanthropist, and author, he already has no trouble working 12-hour days.

Taken from the above linked article.

Philanthropist???? Does this person even know what this word means?

      1. The effort or inclination to increase the well-being of humankind, as by charitable aid or donations. … and how much have the Obama’s donated to charity?

      2. Love of humankind in general. … look how well he treats his family (granny in the slumps of HI and brother living in his hut in Africa)

      3. Something, such as an activity or institution, intended to promote human welfare. .. look at how well the folks living in the projects in his south side district are doing – no water, rats, no plumbing or heat.

  • Above My Pay Grade

I find it quite amusing that some people actually think Barack Hussein Obama would make a stronger Commander and Chief than Governor Sarah Palin.

If you were suddenly thrust into an armed conflict against an invading enemy army, who would you want fighting next to you in a foxhole? Barack Obama or Sarah Palin?

Try to picture yourself in a foxhole with the two of them. Who would take charge?

Barack would stammer and stutter and say something like “Uh, uh, uh, you know I think we should, um-uh, you know discuss surrender terms. This combat stuff is um, uh, you know, above my pay grade.”

Looking at the M-16 in front of him, he would say, “Um-uh, uh, I don’t really, you know, um know how to use this thing. I’ve never fired a weapon, I’ve never been in the military and don’t really even know anyone who has, um, you know, uh served in uh, uh, uh, combat.”

Turning to Joe Biden: “Um, uh, Joe, do you know how to use this thing?” Biden would give a rambling 90 minute explanation that he also has never been in the military and does not know how to fire a weapon.
Obama would then say, “Wait, I know someone who knows how to uh, um,.make, um, bombs! I’ve got him right here on my speed dial. Let’s see, “Jeremiah Wright, Father Phleger, Keith Olbermann, Mayor Daley, Toni Rezko – home, Toni Rezko – cell, Toni Rezko – jail cell, oh here it is, William Ayers! Darn, no answer! Oh yeah, I forgot, he always spends his Wednesdays stomping on American flags.”

Barack would then come up with a brilliant solution. “I can, um, uh, make my shirt into a white flag! Surrender is the one military tactic I am very familiar with.”

Sarah Palin, on the other hand, would take charge of the situation. She’d probably Patton-slap Barack and yell at him to stop whimpering and man up.

Then she would pick up the M-16, make mooseburgers out of the enemy and lead the group to safety.

Only an idiot would think Obama would make a better Commander in Chief than Governor Palin, and she is only McCain’s VICE Presidential candidate.

they are ALL bad choices. once again we get to pick from the lesser of “who cares”. there were only a few candidates in this thing who actually had any substantial experience on the executive level. they were dismissed at the outset in favor of “change” and “outsiders”. the stage for this was set back when newt gingrich ruined congress by strong arming term limits for too many districts and now all we have left is a massive popularity sprint to the finish line every election cycle. governing and legislation takes practice and we won’t have a good government again until it becomes important to us. until then all we get are amateurs and poseurs to watch on TV

Fox News just announced that BO will be on BO (Bill O’Reilly) this Thursday evening at 8:00. When they announced this Bob Beckel turned red. He said, “I wouldn’t recommend my candidate to go on that show.” Well Bill O’Reilly better put his money where his mouth is and ask tough questions about Ayers, Rezko et al..Get your tape recorders ready for an hours worth of sound bites like paygrade, punished with a baby, none of them are the people I used to know etc. etc.

Not likely. O’Reilly will probably coddle Baby Barry. Beckel is just trying to gain viewership. Barry would NEVER agree to a full scale unscripted interview.

    • Roxanne

Everybody knows that Palin was a last minute choice for McCain after he saw how unified the party became during the convention. So in his ‘infinite wisdom’ (cough), he saw an opportunity to perhaps, still try to capture and pacify the most disgruntled of the Clinton diehards; and revive the conservative zealots at the same time.

He was aware that even though Sarah and Hillary are light years apart, in terms of policy and platform, there would be a loathesome and comical segment of her voting bloc who would foolishly jump on any bandwagon he rolled down the hill.

Unfortunately, for you pumaites, that segment is rather emaciated. Polls show that many of the Hillary supporters were insulted by the ubiquitous Palin pick. It has solidified the democrats further but most of you are still to emotionally scarred by the jaws of defeat to see the forest through the trees. Can you really compare Hillary’s credentials to that of master breeder, Sarah Palin? Guys, get over it. This little site isn’t reflective of what’s happening in the realm of reality.

      • alexei

“Master breeder”, you sexist pig even if you are a woman. You Obama puppet – the Democratic Party is not unified, the sham roll call vote epitomized the divide – Pelosi and friends had to put that sham up because the votes showed Hillary with 1900 and Edwards voters wanting to switch to her but being denied. Roll call votes are historically aired at night, this on because of the sham, was shown hastily in the day and cut off abruptly.

No, I strongly disagree with Palin’s positions on issues important to me, but, to have the same sexist and misogynist attacks thrown at her by my Party is unbelievable. I will work to excise all you Obamacrats from my Party – you are shameless, vile, disgusting sexist pigs who represent the Freepers and Rovian tactics. This is wrong and you sexist pigs are not going to get away with hijacking my Party.

      • sproutingly

If my party had nominated Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin’s lack of experience would be an absolutely legitimate issue.

Because my party nominated Barack Obama, whenever I hear Palin’s experience criticized, I think I’ve been transported into the bizzaro world.

This year, the Democrats set the standard: Change, we decided, triumphs Experience. How do we now criticize the GOP for agreeing? And Obama is running for PRESIDENT, not VICE PRESIDENT. The mental gymnastics AirAmerica and the pro-Obama media go through to try to justify this pick would be funny if they werent so bizarre.

Democrats: Bed, Made, Lie. Calling Palin Inexperienced while promoting Obama is just making you look stupid. But I guess that’s what you’re best at, isn’t it?

    Hows this for Hypocrisy:

earlier this year used her line-item veto to slash funding for a state program benefiting teen mothers in need of a place to live.

After the legislature passed a spending bill in April, Palin went through the measure reducing and eliminating funds for programs she opposed. Inking her initials on the legislation — “SP” — Palin reduced funding for Covenant House Alaska by more than 20 percent, cutting funds from $5 million to $3.9 million. Covenant House is a mix of programs and shelters for troubled youths, including Passage House, which is a transitional home for teenage

I have donated to Covenant House before. It is a private charity, and I think an argunment could be made that giving to private charities is a misuse of taxpayer money. • Zeke

O’Reilly will never pass up an opportunity to slice Barry up. He has stated many times that he would force Barry to answer the tough ones if he ever came on.
It will probably be very one-sided with a bunch of Barry’isms referring to “already thrashed this out in the press,” “I never heard those sermons,” and other sundry back and fills.
The issue will be whether Barry comes off as poised or sweating. That will probably depend on the quality of toot he gets before the show…
My small bet is that Barry will choke but that McCain’s speech will get the negative press while nobody in the MSM will even bring up Barry on FOX.

  • http://investigatebarackobama.wordpress.com/about/ kat in your hat

Governor Palin would have no trouble at all facing down Putin or negotiating Medvedev.

It’s like people don’t actually know what happens when leaders meet! Do they think they draw swords or something???

Palin would be thoroughly prepared beforehand. The VP has a team of people. Palin could actually be disarming, I bet you never thought about that. These leaders would laugh and tour and eat and talk and set out goals, etc. But they would grow to be intrigued with her life story. Alaska, hunting, etc. They would both love her and respect her. I am sure of it.

What exactly is so tough?? BUSH had Putin on his ranch killing chickens and laughing it up. I wonder if they think a Texas cowboy type president was interesting…well, won’t they be fascinated by an Alaskan frontier woman. Being interesting goes a LONG way when meeting people.

America needs to relax. Even I could meet with these people once I studied a few things for a week or so. The whole point is to try get along, but get the USA’s stance on the table. It’s not arm wrestling and slap boxing.

Besides Governor Palin’s Alaska is a hop skip and a jump from Russia. She’d probably get along just fine.

It’s NOT difficult to visit with other people. Or even debate people, and set down your position. It’s also not difficult to get the point across in a solid and pointed manner. It’s not difficult to debate, and it’s not difficult to negotiate. I would be a good negotiator. I would charm them up, listen to their positions and why. Then I would explain the positions of the USA, and why. Etc etc…

They are probably sick and tired of creepy Cheney anyway!! Probably looking forward to Palin. Biden looks like another creepy Cheney. lol.

    Whatever.

It’s NOT HARD to deal with these people! The president and VP have a billion aides with lots of input anyway.

    • http://investigatebarackobama.wordpress.com/about/ kat in your hat

Also, if Palin needed to be tough talking. NO problem! She has the weight of our entire nation and most powerful military behind her. Believe me, there is not one leader who will forget that.

Beyond that, there ARE women leaders all around the world. It’s not totally foreign to other leaders, only really Americans, since we are wayyy behind.

Levi Johnston’s mother said her 18-year-old son left Alaska on Tuesday morning to join the Palin family at the convention where Sen. John McCain will officially receive the Republican nomination for president. The boy’s mother, Sherry Johnston, said there had been no pressure put on her son to marry 17-year-old Bristol Palin and the two teens had made plans to wed before it was known she was pregnant.

I think Sarah Palin is the new republican party. The democrat party has kicked the qualified woman to the curb and nominated the poser male while the republicans have asked a woman to inspire and lead, and she will. Has anyone thought about the fact that this may spawn a national trend in which Obamaesque male congressmen, senators and governors are challenged by strong young republican women in the Sarah Palin vein?

    • HARP

      We can only hope.

2004: John Kerry, a 20-year veteran of the Senate with no executive experience, chooses Senator John Edwards as his running mate. Edwards was about to finish his first term in any public office, and while he sat on the Foreign Relations Committee, he missed most of its meetings during his tenure in the Senate. He spent the last third of his term running for the presidential nomination and then running for VP. Before entering the Senate in 1998, Edwards made a fortune as a personal-injury lawyer. Experience level: Zero — no executive experience, no military experience, no foreign-policy experience.

Sarah Palin has more executive experience than Obama and Biden combined. She has more overall political experience than Obama does, having been working in politics while he was still in law school. She has far more experience than John Edwards, whom the Democrats ran in the VP slot in 2004 and considered nominating this year. If the Democrats want to continue debating experience, well … as Obama says, that’s a debate we’d be thrilled to have.

    • Obama/Biden/Clinton/Clinton2008

I agree that the hypse around her 17 year old daughter is HORRIBLE!

But the real issues are the fact that she is NO Hillary Clinton! She oppses EVERYTHING Hillary stands for! Heck Palin even went against changing the bar hours in Alaska due to the many drunk driving accidents- and that has the women of MADD(Mothers Against Drunk Driving)seeing red!!!(which I am a member of)

I can not speak for anyone else- but for me its the issues. Its not about her being a woman with 5 kids because I have 5 kids also! My oldest 24- and my baby who just turned 2. My hubby is a retired NYC cop. I think its great that Palin is on the ticket BUT her policies are sooo different from that of the democratic party and Hillary supporters- there is no way I can see a McCain-Palin White House

            It’s not about that!

It’s about sexism and what you are PREPARED to do about it.

Look, When someone makes a blatant racist comment in the Media, or public office what do the AAs do?/

They suspend ALL other political differences and unite as one to slap down the Racist.

I have great respect for their ability to do that.

Thanks to Hillary, PUMAs, No Quarter and Now Sarah, you are in the very, very best position to put sexism where A.A. have put racism.

What are Women PREPARED to do.

this issue “front & center” for “everyone” to have to confront, those on the left, and those on the right.

I think the program she reduced funding for was a private non-profit charity and I don’t think she said “Gods Wills” in reference to the Iraq war. I think she referred to it as being “God’s work”, or something along those lines. Anyway I don’t think it was meant in the context of the Crusades.

I have the feeling that Palin and Clinton would have more commonality than irreconcilable differences. Although Hillary Clinton is 16 years older and has much more experience, they are both smart and both bipartisan. To Palin’s credit I have not seen instances of her trying to institutionalize her anti-abortion stance. She is personally against gay marriage but she vetoed a bill that would have denied benefits to same sex couples–so I don’t see her as a crazy demagogue. I think she would at least be fair, and tolerable to me at least. As long as she doesn’t try to legalize her religious beliefs I am ok with her.

I am more interested in her ability to help clean up Washington and to begin the process of getting the US out of debt.

If you are going to ascribe a belief or position to a person, find a source…

How do you know that Obama will hold true to Hillarys issues? What proof do you have that he actually stands for what he says? I have seen no action to support his words on his part.

I have seen contrary actions to his words, however…

            • Leisa

The above post is in response to:

              Obama/Biden/Clinton/Clinton

        • alexei

Environmental and energy issues, Iraq (although not sure but since she is McCain’s running mate and this is his signature issue, I can’t see her not with him), government roles (pretty sure she toes the Party line on regulation or should I say lack there of). Most likely many more since she is a rock hard conservative (I don’t believe that she is a bat wing nut, though). Pointing out the differences on issues is legitimate; sexist attacks are beyond the pale.

That said, I can’t stand the same sexist and misogynistic attacks that Hillary faced being thrown against Palin. I want my Party back and the Obama puppets excised out as well as the “Old Guard” enablers such as Pelosi, Reid and yes Dean. A special place for Brazile in this Hall of Shame.

      • Boxer Mum 06

Hillary and Palin may have polar opposite views on issues but I have seen ZERO attacks regarding her views on issues. All the attacks are personal attacks.

Hillary above any other female in a government role has lived this first hand and knows how ugly the media can be personal attacks.

Hillary can totally speak up and defend Palin against the personal attacks but still professionally disagree with their view on issues.

I thought we elected these people to represent us as people not just as issues!

      • Gleep

        The issues?

Like Obama also touting pro-life policies and faith based initiatives to attract fundie votes? Those issues?

Palin’s policies are not “sooooo” different. HRC was a centrist, not a radical left wing nut.

Palin is anti-corruption, for contraceptive use, helped pass a tax increase on oil company profits, proposed giving Alaskans $100-a-month energy debit cards, proposed providing grants to electrical utilities so that they would reduce customers’ rates, etc.

Are you saying Hillary would be against those things mentioned above? Really?

HRC and Palin are not clones of each other, there are differences and similarities. Unlike Obots that carbon copy each other.

        Obots = Ameobas’R'Us

        • alexei

There are significant differences on issues and Hillary noted that in her gracious news release on Palin’s announcement for VP.

      • AnnieO

This has gone beyond issues, especially since you can’t believe anything BO says on the issues. The marginalization of women by the BO campaign is something that women need to confront head-on. If you don’t, your political power as a woman will be stripped or at least severely diminished, and that will set the clock back by decades. He does not respect women, and he will do nothing good for women. He must lose! The DNC must be convinced that women are a force to be reckoned with so that the issues that are important to women (beyond Roe v. Wade) are eventually addressed.

  • bayareavoter

My paper, the SF Chronicle had a stupid cartoon about Palin. I think part of the reason they treat her as stupid is because she is attractive.

I said the same thing last night that a previous poster wrote: when they bashed Hillary they said it was not ALL, women just that woman who was so despicable–but now we know–when it comes to women it’s a free for all.

Remember, these are the guys who were too squeamish to publish any stories about John Edwards’ affair! Give me a friggin’ break!

When they talk about experience remember that the anointed one spent 7 yrs as a state senator—they meet 55 days/yr. And he did nothing until the 7th yr when the AA godfather of the leg gave him other people’s bills to “author” so he would look like he’d done something when he began running for his US Senate seat. Let’s talk about experience if they want to!

              Seattle Moss,

A tip of the hat to you! You are right on the mark. The more they attack Palin, the greater the landslide for McCain/Palin. However, we must not make the mistake of underestimating the amount of cheating the dems will do with voting machines, absentee ballots, early voting and provisional ballots.

After all, they blatantly cheated Hillary at teh Convention by counting the superdelegate votes behind closed doors, which, according to the “rulz” is not legal procedure.

Nontheless, you have to hand it to McCain, he’s done more in putting a spotlight on the rampant sexism against women in one short week than the feminist groups have done in years! Where were they for Senator Clinton? Why are they now on behalf of Governor Palin?

These egregious attacks against Palin are definitely a huge red flag that something evil this way comes in the way of a coup from the inside and Americans better wake up and take notice, because there is little time left to stop this runnaway train to nowhere.

    Putin and Palin

Yes both went after corruption big time. In fact it is the oligarchs in Russia that are tied in with Soros, and the Anglo-American Brzezinski ‘Great Game’ crowd now pushing war with Russia through proxie Saakashvilli in Georgia feeding from the same George “the Nazi collaborator” Soros bucket of slime that supports Barkey Boo Boo O bambi bomb em.

The liberals hate Putin’s Russia for many reasons one of then being that Putin recognize that families need support in Russia.Putin recognized the IMF’s ‘Shock Therapy’ against Russia, along with liberal values like drugs, prostitution, white salvery, AIDS, etc was creating a democraghic implosion, coulpled with service on the interest payments to the loan sharking west, the oligarchs destruction of Russian industry, was leading to a population implosion, just as the west desires.

The corrupt Rockefeller left, or which Obama is the new poobah of death… Starting with harsh austerity measures, ‘shock therapy’ against Americans, especially white bitter Americans who will soon be paying reparations taxes that Barkey will funnel back to Wall Street.

In Russia Putin took action, kicking out the Oligarchs who were strangling Russia and has implemented New Deal type of reforms to help the general welfare of the people in Russia.

Putin is not the enemy…the enemy is those who have just wrecked the Democratic Party here in America.

This whole cant against Sarah Palin and her family is disgusting and it has been great to here the support and fight of those on this site.

    Obama is afraid…keep it going…

Any woman who participates in trashing Sarah Palin, deserves all the sexism and misogyny that comes her way. They are the hypocrites, not Sarah Palin. We may not share Palin’s beliefs, but to trash her for living by them is despicable. I used to think that “progressives” and “liberals” were different from “republicans” because they were open-minded and didn’t try to force their beliefs on others. Obviously I was wrong. I have been a life long Democrat, but watching this process, first Hillary, now Palin, makes it painfully clear that the Democratic Party is no place for me.

    • ming the merciless

One of Sarah Palin’s most outspoken critics is Lyda Green–a woman from Palin’s own hometown of Wasilla, Alaska. Lyda Green is not only another republican, but also President of the Alaska State Senate: “She’s not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president? Look at what she’s done to this state. What would she do to the nation?”

      http://www.adn.com/politics/story/510249.html

It’s surprising she refrained from stronger criticism, considering Governor Palin’s apparent indifference to the demeaning things that were said about Lyda Green during a talk radio interview last January:

I am one of the odd ones in regards to abortion. I am a pro-life/pro-choicer. I believe life begins at conception and that an abortion is the most vile form of murder there is. To kill an entirely innocent, helpless child because it’s inconvenient is barbaric. That said, you want to kill your baby? Have at it. It doesn’t affect my world. I believe what I want and I respect the opinions of others enough to honor their belief structure in regards to abortion. I would far rather see a child aborted than brought into a hostile and/or abusive situation. I repeatedly watch news stories about babies killed. And here in Denver there was recently a case where a boy was starved to death by foster parents. That boy would have been far better off as an abortion. I’m intelligent enough to grasp both sides of the argument. I do not believe it is wrong for me to request the same of an ardent pro-choicer.

Will all of that said, and out in the open . . . I can guarantee you that it takes a hell of a lot more than one or two politicians to reverse Roe v Wade. You will not lose your right to an abortion if McCain, or any other Republican is elected. For the duration of RvW, it has come down to state’s rights. In my youth abortion was strictly legislated. There were states that did not allow abortions and women would have to cross state lines to get one. Still today, there are some fine details to abortion rights that are mandated by a state. I cannot see any scenario where this will change. It’s too much of a hot topic and will remain so for many, many years.

Palin CHOSE to keep her Down’s Syndrome baby. That should be respected.

      • cpl

I see no problem when it comes to the question of whether or nor not Palin could stand up to Putin. Simply because a gun or a bomb is no respecter of sex, gender, race, or nationality. Palin is a hunter, obviously she can pull the trigger just like any man.

      • TeakWoodKite

would have to cross state lines to get one

        • http://www.stillstacy.com Stacy The Republican

All states allow abortions now. There are some states that have upheld minor restrictions. But in general, it is no longer required to take a road trip for the procedure. I cannot see that being reversed.

        • TeakWoodKite

would have to cross state lines to get one

Many people do not understand that Roe V Wade was an Interstate Commerce case.
At least, if you listen to the oral arguements that is how it was heard.

The fact that if it is a states right issue and overturned we will be back at the same point.
This very unlikely to occur considering other cases that have regarded other “cultural” behavior.

          • http://www.stillstacy.com Stacy The Republican

Yes. We do agree I suppose. Very unlikely to occur. It won’t go backwards.

        You are Pro-Choice.
        That’s why it’s a choice.

I am seeing a slant of late to Pro or Anti Abortion. I appreciate your comment. It is very important that we don’t start using the word abortion as a replacement for CHOICE.

      • ming the merciless

I can guarantee you that it takes a hell of a lot more than one or two politicians to reverse Roe v Wade.

What it would take would be a couple more conservative-leaning supreme court judges, whom the next president might very well appoint.

“John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned…” (So says his own campaign website.)

Sarah Palin openly opposes abortion rights , even in cases of the rape of a minor.

Your assumption is that a democratic congress will effectively block the appointment of conservative-leaning judges who might overturn Roe v. Wade. I would suggest that this isn’t necessarily so, because the attentiveness of congress to that particular issue could be diminished by the election of McCain and Palin. Both have such high-profile pro-life positions that the 2008 election might be perceived by individual members of congress as an indicator of the importance of the issue to their own constituents.

        • http://www.stillstacy.com Stacy The Republican

Being in Republican trenches, the consensus among many is that abortion is a private issue. Yes, conservative SCOTUS judges could reverse the decision, but it’s too delicate of an issue. They know this and are in no rush to chase off a vital segment of the voting population. I just can’t see it happening.

But everyone knows that abortions will continue. Be it legally or illegally. I personally believe that there should be ZERO government involvement in abortion. Which includes the funding of it. If government doesn’t pony up any of the money for it, then they can have no say.

        • schmog

So what you are saying, ming, is that we elect Obama and a Republican congress?

Sorry, I prefer it the other way around. Thanks for convincing me!

          • http://www.stillstacy.com Stacy The Republican

I personally like a balance in ideology. But seriously . . . 8 years of Bush and his failed policies is enough. A Dem controlled legislature that was unwilling to negotiate across the aisle is enough. I have been disenchanted with my party for some time. I stay a registered Republican because I know it pisses off the likes of the Soros/MoveOn crowd. Plus I like voting in the primaries.

    • eurogirl70

      Hey there Kate….

The Democrat’s have been in Congress as the majority party for the past (2) years. They got thru a mimimum wage increase. If this were truly a moral issue to them, they could have taken care of equal pay back in the late 70′s [before your dumbass was born] with the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment. The Democrat’s were in control of Congress then too.

      How did that work out?

    • Leisa

      Two lies,

Palin is not pro-choice but pro life, so you will not vote for someone who wants to protect the unborn…hmm OK

Equal Pay McCain/Palin don’t won’t Equal Pay, they won’t BETTER PAY…Equal pay could be $4.00 and hour better pay is $10.00 McCain and Hillary paid their staffers BETTER PAY. Obama paid the women equal pay and the men better pay.

    • eurogirl70

      Oh….

I am so frightened there Fred. First of all, the Democratic Congress has already passed a minimum wage hike. Currently it is $6.55 an hour and will go up to $7.25 on July 24, 2009. [Try doing alittle research before dropping the $4 an hour bomb]

Secondly, try looking at who Obama’s supporters are [Wall Street Hedge Funds, Telecoms]. They would like to maintain the status quo with little government intervention or oversight, unless it consists of a Federal bailout like Bear Stearns.

Before you mention Hillary’s years on the board of WalMart, lets look at Michelle Obama’s time on the board of WalMart’s largest supplier [Tree House Food]. While Hillary was a thorn in the company’s side regarding getting women promoted to management level positions in the company, Michelle Obama was sitting on the board of company with a proven track record of lousy labor practices.

Obama tells you that he eschewed going into the corporate world when he and his wife have been sucking on the “corporate teet” since the beginning. Just becuause its called a non-profit doesn’t mean that it is. Non-profits can be very profitable for those at the top!

Try doing alitte more research there Fred. Are you frightened that you might not be able to move out of your parent’s basement under a McCain administration. Trust me, with Obama as the lackey of Wall Street, you won’t be moving out under an Obama/Biden admin either.

I am a bit disappointed in FOX, how could O’Riley schedule a prime time interview with Obama on the Factor on Thursday night of all nights.

This is the same night Mc Cain will be speaking at the convention, I really wonder what is up with that. Why did not FOX put on McCain when the DNC was having their show especially on the night of Obama’s big speech.

I have been looking at FOX some time now since the Hillary run, Fox loves to say they are fair and balanced better than all but there are some people on there from their tone you know they are fully in the tank for Obama and they are letting it show.

I did not think O’Riley was but someone at FOX sure has bad timing and to me its very disrespectful to the Republicans and most of all Mc Cain, to place Obama at that time.

    • http://deleted Caya

Just don’t watch. O’Riley is so proud of his ratings so let them tank.

  • HARP

Naturally, Kurtz delves into the contretemps over John McCain cancelling an interview with CNN’s Larry King, presumably in favor of a leisurely bowel movement, over the spittle-flecked performance of former cheerleader and sorority sister Campbell Brown in interview McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds.

“The interview was totally fair,” Brown said. “I was trying to get an answer. I was persistent, but I was respectful. That’s my job. Experience is a legitimate issue when John McCain raises it about Obama, and it’s also legitimate for us to raise it about Palin.”

    Note the construction:

*Experience is a legitimate issue when John McCain raises it about Obama, and it’s also legitimate for us to raise it about Palin.*

That tells you all you need to know about the press coverage. McCain has to raise issues concerning Obama campaign and the media is raising issues on the McCain campaign.

In a nutshell that is why the Obama connection to Ayers isn’t covered. That’s why Obama’s sweetheart real estate deal isn’t explored. That’s why Tony Rezko might as well not exist. That’s why utterly scurrilous and facially ridiculous stories on Governor Palin are given front page attention in major papers. That’s why former cheerleader Campbell Brown, who is allegedly a reporter, has never seen fit to ask a single question about Obama’s qualifications for office.

Because it is up to John McCain to raise issues about Obama while the media raises issues about McCain. And Barrack Obama just grins from the sideline.

    • Indy

The real laugher line in Brown’s comment was that she was “respectful”…I watched the clip and her facial expressions belie that statement. She was unprofessional and had what I would term a tantrum. Her questions were nasty and sexist.

    • eurogirl70

      Yeah…

Somebody there needs to tell Campbell Brown that while McCain raises issues of Obama’s experience, and she raises questions about Gov. Palin’s experience, the MSM doesn’t do a damn thing to raise questions about Obama’s experience or credentials.

Old Campbell’s nose is still out of joint because her hubby Dan Senor was chief counsel to the Carlyle Group, and then Paul Bremer’s mouthpiece in Iraq, was aiding Mitt Romney’s political aspirations. We all know that there is no love loss between Romney and McCain.

    • ziggy

Republican spokespersons keep making assertions about Palin and her experience that they can’t back up when they’re asked about the specifics. They get flustered when their statements are revealed to be devoid of any substance whatsoever. It’s about time somebody began asking the obvious questions.

They assert Palin has defense experience and foreign policy experience because she’s in command of the Alaska National Guard. It sounds good until someone asks, How’s that? What did she ever decide?

Push the point, and they’ve got no answer.

It’s the same with her administrative experience. She helped run a small business? She served on a small-town city council and was a small-town mayor? She’s been governor of a state mainly populated by moose and elk for a couple of years, having none of the budgetary problems confronting most other states? How does any of that prepare her the possibility that she could become president of the United States in a heartbeat?

      • Leisa

Why do you come here bashing instead of selling all of O’s wonderful accomplishments?

        • StrawberrybitesBarky

          What accomplishments?

      • StrawberrybitesBarky

Change that she to a he but minus the small business, Alaska National Gaurd, small town mayor, governer of huge state with untold wealth in national resources (you do know we went to war over oil right?) that happens to be running in the black. And you’ve got Barky…oh wait he’s running for president. Not VP. She still has more experience than Buttmunch Barky.

      • Donkey Brazziere

Alaska is bigger than the smallest 26 US states combined. Alaska also has huge oil reserves to be managed. Alaska may be low on people, but it’s Governor has huge responsibilities.

      • ritamary

Did Obama ever run any kind of business? Large, small, a lemonade stand? Was Obama ever a mayor? Was Obama ever a governor of any state? He has NO executive experience except at the nonprofit foundation he served on with Bill Ayres. But he doesn’t ever talk about that.

People have a lot of trouble accepting reality, and it got worse in the 60s. They babe is always going to advance past the abrasive woman, at least if men stand up for their rights. I know that picture of Sarah in the short short dress is all the interview she’d have needed with me. I’m sure John’s the same.

I’m getting to really like Srah. When people under her when she was mayor she didn’t mess around she fired their asses. I think she’ll be a strong leader. If I was McCain, in between enjoying her decorative qualities, I’d put Sarah Barracuda in charge ofpurging government esp the DOJ of the remaining extreme liberals. I bet their heads would roll.

  • sjc-tx

To all those whiners out there going on about Palin’s ‘personal beliefs’… WHEN or WHAT has she ever done in her Leadership roles that trys to CHANGE or ENFORCE these on her constituents!??

You ‘women’ are MISSING the point… It ain;t about abortion, religion whatever! Its about her being (like Hillary is), a STRONG, INTELLIGENT, CAPABLE WOMAN!

Remember the other day when Obama’s hit squad (and surrogate NYT) started to push that Palin was part of a sessesionist organization?

Well, guess what? IT WAS WRONG! Now says the NYT:

On Tuesday night, Ms. Clark said that her initial statement was incorrect and had been based on erroneous information provided by another member of the party whom she declined to identify.

    • schmog

Remember Obama compared Palin’s mayoral administration with his campaign “administration.” Note, how he ignores that she is a Governor. Anyway, Obama compares himself with her:

My understanding is that Gov. Palin’s town, Wassilla, has I think 50 employees. We’ve got 2500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe 12 million dollars a year – we have a budget of about three times that just for the month.

      Obama’s logic is this:

He is qualified for the presidency because he is running for president.

Think about that for a moment. He is saying he is more qualified than her because his campaign to run for president is bigger than her mayoral administration…

Yes, you have come to the obvious conclusion:

      Obama is an idiot.

    ROFLMAO

Obuma compared his campaign for President to Sarah’s executive experience as mayor and not as governor of Alaska.

Well, you know, my understanding is that, uh, Governor Palin’s town of Wasilly has, uh, 50 employees, uh, uh, we’ve got 2500, uh, in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe $12 million a year. Uh, uh, we have a budget of about three times that just for the month. Uh, so I think that, uh, our ability to manage large systems, uh, and to, uh, execute, uh, I think has been made clear over the last couple of years. Uh, and certainly, in terms of, uh, the legislation that I’ve passed just dealing with this issue post-Katrina, uh, of how we handle emergency management. The fact that, uh, many of my recommendations were adopted and are being put in place, uh, as we speak indicates to extent to which we can provide the kinds of support and good service that the American people expect.

Barack once again proves how empty his suit really is. Barack’s campaign is run by a campaign manager not the almighty himself.

What a weak comparison made by the Great I Wannabe.

    • KenNOhio

In this short explanation he used “uh” sixteen times.

    • Duras

Somehow, I think that the state of Alaska has a few more employees than Barry’c campaign does and that the state’s budget is just a tad bigger than his campaign’s budget.

      Just a tad.

      • AnnieO

He doesn’t even manage the campaign budget. He’s so full of shit.

  • Duras

Now the Dems are upset with Lieberman about supposedly lyin during his speech last night when he said that Barack Obama has never reached across the aisle in any meaningful way reach compromise with Republicans. I guess the truth hurts. Barack Obama is a creature of the far left and it is 100% accurate that he has never … NEVER … broken with the orthodox far left wing of his party on any issue of consequence. And no, the “ethics reform” bill doesn’t qualify.

  • VMorris

Yes. Oblah is pissed that the Palin announcement pooped on his big convention speech because it came the morning after.

So he is going on O’Rielly during John’s prime time speech

That’s OK. This is why God invented DVRs….

My friends….1984 has arrived…it’s a little late but now we have ALL of the major media in the Tank for Obama. Somebody very powerful is behind this man.

When is McCain going to make his speech ? If it is at the same time as O’Reilly, they should delay the speech or move it.

    • Indy

I’m sure his speech will be no earlier than 9 eastern, probably more like 10. OReilly has been on before all the big speeches at both conventions, no worries.

      • NoTrollZone

Obama? hmmm. isn’t he the same guy that said
if McCain released the name of his VP selection during the dem debutante ball that it would be political malpractice? weren’t that him?
        Another classy, hypocritical Obahbah move.

  • cpl

I think the Obama strategy is working overtime now and getting the media and the public to focus on Palin and her family and taking some of the heat off his scrawny ass. I want to know if Obama is even a legitimate presidential candidate, if he is a natural born American citizen. There is a boxcar load of facts about Obama that Americans need to know that far outweigh whether or not some girl got PG that isn’t even running for any office –PERIOD.

Give Palin and Putin both a gun and I think Palin could stand her ground. She has been governor long enough that she also knows how to be diplomatic.

  • Milly

Umm…what about adding for Thursday’s Republican Night end of convention, the wedding of Gov Sarah Palin’s daughter, yeah live for all of us to be present and witness the event, no more smears that the guy won’t marry her after all.

Justice should be served, but I am sure this great lady Gov Palin as Sen Rodham, will give an amazing “speech” a really contact one to one with the audience, to express it, to make the best rendition of Sarah Palin’s life and that she understand the huge responsibility she will have as being the first VP of the USA, and I am sure she will deliver!

About Bil O.l, I am not so sure, he is fair, this man will do anything to show he is a powerful personality of the media, (he can’t get tired of repeating to himself time after time, he is the best, nothing compares to him, that’s why he accepted Oblame’s terms, even to the point of stealing audience, making the people believe he will ask the ‘tough questions’ when this type of interview are arranged, (oh yes, how I dare to think that?)…questions screened…after all Bill is an entertainer, he has had lot of times to come with a really investigation on Obama, like Andy Martin did, but not, Bill thinks Sen Oblame, ‘is a good guy’…yeah, yeah..

When they will give time to go through all the investigation that Mr. Martin did, that could be an interesting interview, not listening to ‘a market product’, ‘a man that just will say the same, ‘again and again’, just catch me if you can,…”no body no case”, and he will smile, to distract attention from his lack of content for an interview! And Bill O, will say, hey I did not find anything that tells this guy does not want the best for America, I looked into his eyes, and you know me, I can read a person by looking at his eyes while they are replying to my questions, oh Bill O. we have you read too!

Oh who can expect that asking someone hey, did you commit that crime? and wait for the person to say yes, come on.

Watching Sen Oblame, is deja vu of O.J. Simpson, remember Simpson promisin he himself was going to look for his wife killer or killers, can you see a resemblance in the way Oblame smiles and O. J. does? Even the eyes of both of them, have that expression that they know they are guilty as hell, but they learned through all the support they have received from life, (fans, those who want them in power), their experience in one of their best tools, lying and how easy has been for them to deceit people, so they will keep smiling, with that sarcasm. Only time, will put Sen Oblame where he belongs, he will pay for any wrong doing from his part, and he knows it! “Life time will be awaiting for you Oblame”! No rush, enjoy till it last!

You Oblame thought you were ready to play, but look ”what you forgot to bring to the game”? Do not know? Sorry Sen Jr. Oblame, you were supposed to be ‘the smart guy that had figured out the game…but you did not count with that, I know that’s usual on those ‘new’ in the the game that life has for all of us to play if we are really good at playing it, experienced gamers, we will know what not to forget to bring with us or to look at, when playing with the big leagues. !! It happens, Oblame, ‘game over’!

But Valsthewoman, Bill O’Reilly HATES Obama! You can believe any question he asks him will be to trip him up.

I agree interview the bum, at least we will get some good video to pass around if O’Riley is laying a trap for Obambi.

What a hack O and his handlers are for agreeing to go on Bill O’s show the night of McCain’s acceptance speech, I would assume, to take millions of viewers away from the Mc speech. The narcissistic, egomania is stunning!

Obambi knows no bounds and he is terrified of Palin, hence O’Riley interview, lol.

I’m not 100% on the schedules, does anybody know if Obambi would be interviewed while Palin is speaking or before/after??

Always “this woman”. That’s the same as saying “that black guy”. If these clowns don’t know what a Governor does, then they should look it up or STFU. Here they are supporting someone for President who doesn’t even do his job as senator, and they have the gall to criticize a VP candidate who has more executive experience? The Dems are out to turn the world upside down and we have to stop them now.

  • NoTrollZone

You know I hate to help the Obats out, but it seems they are a little slow on jumping on some of the talking points (I’m sure they’ll get around to them, but timing is everything):

    1. Is Alaska really a state? The Orange cheeto
will surely post evidence to show it is but a territory and doesn’t count as a real state. They will put out a five page list of people who say that Alaska is not a state.

    2. Does playing hockey void your patriotism? Obomabots are sure to point out that hockey is really a Canadian game and Palin owes her allegiance to Canada. The orange cheeto will provide a five page list of people who say that Palin loves Canada more than America.

    3. Why is Alaska so cold? Obamabots will be sure to point out that Alaska is cold because it is racist. This will be born out by a five page list of people (produced by the orange cheeto) who will say that Alaska is kept intentionally colder than the rest of America and Eskimos are white and Eskimos live in cold climates and polar bears are white and live in cold climates and so this intentionally cold stuff is obviously racist.
