Karma: Democratic Regressives, Trapped In Their Own Irony. How Delightful.

After chuckling while reading the NY Times piece, Sarah Palin Electrifies Party, I surfed The Regressive Party’s posts this morning about Sarah’s speech last night at the Republican Convention. What I saw everywhere was a gaggle of shocked and flustered people who are now officially trapped in their own irony.

Having become the fascist thugs they claimed to despise for 8 years, they are now officially reaping what they have sown throughout the primary season, when Hillary was trashed at every turn, the Race Card was played daily, and the party Far Left Fascists laughed gleefully while leaving us to watch in horror.

Not only did they horrify us, but they returned as often as possible to us to shove hot pokers at us.

Now we are laughing gleefully as the Republicans turn on the fan and slop the Obama camps’ own shit right back in their faces.

This morning, I am *seeing some very similar diaries to the ones we Clinton supporters were writing just a few short months ago…..and all I can think to say is “HOW DOES IT FEEL??!!!”

Here’s a great example of being trapped in your own irony:

one of their own is being attacked and they
are rallying around her.The validity or reality of the reasons for the attack
matters not to these people, they are ideological
driven.

Sound familiar everybody? Is this not exactly how we felt as they refused to allow the con man to be vetted? As they buried information about his affiliations? As they literally skewered Hillary Clinton? Is this not just plain delightful to watch?

Gold. Pure. Gold.

Here’s more:

We knew it was coming. Complete, utter bullshit.

Female Republicans embraced identity politics with gusto today, touting the virtues of presumptive vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin and suggesting that any attempts to question her qualifications amounted to blatant sexism.

Nice, convenient, catch-all excuse. If you say anything bad about poor Sarah Palin, it’s sexism, which is most likely a word most Republicans never even considered using until today.

Yup. Trapped in their own irony as their own tricks are played back at them. How “utterly” enjoyable! Pass the popcorn!

My grandmother always said that when you spit up in the air, it’s going to come back down.

Splat!

Karma. It’s what’s for dinner. Please join me in having a very good day!

Oh and one more thing. Barack! Your wife says you only are home on weekends! You are a lousy father! Get your ass home! You boys never could multi-task.

*Yes I have links to the quotes. But I’ll be damned if I send traffic or revenue their way.

  • Yo

Uppity thanks for posting this. Karmas a bitch isn’t it?

  • Go Sarah

Is it true Barack Obama is now pressured to ask Biden to step down so Hillary can get the VP spot?

  • Morgan

I hope and believe that her small-government, stay out of our lives ideas, along with her real-world multitasking, SELF-made woman and mother identity, will strike a chord with more than a few women out there. She both inspires and intimidates me, like a lot of badass women do.

Wow, maybe Joe should have really gotten it in writing. LOL

  • Obama’s gums look sick

Love this comment. Just hours ago the leftie chatterers were taking bets on when exactly Palin would step down.

It all goes back to judgment, which Oblahblah said he had in spades a lot of. Guess that judgment must have taken the campaign off. That they didn’t see Palin as a potential candidate is no one’s fault but their own. That they took for granted (I’m being charitable here) half the population is also no one’s fault but their own.

It’s both cause and effect and piss poor planning.

  • mystic4hillpuma

“Hoist with his own petard” – The word remains in modern usage in the phrase to be hoist by one’s own petard, which means “to be harmed by one’s own plan to harm someone else” or “to fall in one’s own trap”, literally implying that one could be lifted up (hoisted, or blown upward) by one’s own bomb.

Obama and the Democratic Party – hoisted by their own petards!

God, I love karma! Especially PUMA KARMA!

  • OBushMA!

True. BO is damaged good. To flip-flop on the VP now would not be “good judgment,” would it? On the other hand, I am enjoying how flippant Biden seems in regards to his “boss”. Biden obviously has little to no respect for the upstart. He’s just going through the motion on the off chance he gets to go into the history book as VP.

  • FerdBerfle

ROFL and she meant it, too.

  • beebop

It is tough to resist. They couldn’t leave her or her family alone. They had to go for the fire this time. What they accomplished was generating a huge audience for her and sympathetic listeners. After that, she took over. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer group of goons and thugs.

  • Disguested with Obama

What happen with BO meeting with the FBI yesterday? Did anyone know what that was about?

  • Lucinda

Just the other day when Palin was being trashed by the media, someone said that the Republicans wouldn’t let it happen to Palin the way Democrats sat on their asseshands and let it happen to Hillary. I loved it yesterday when Mayor Guilliani went around to the press boxes and gave all of them a tongue-lashing for their sexism; then brought it out again in his speech.
My guess is that her speech probably went over pretty well with the average, middle-American—especially her barb about the media. Most of the people I know think that the media and Hollywood celebrities (Obama’s best friends) are a bunch of overpaid idiots. If there are any media people reading my comment, I’m sorry to deflate your ego but Mr. and Mrs. Jones next door don’t believe that you’re God’s gift to the world.
Anyway, I just saw the overnight ratings and 37,000,000 people watched her speech last night. That was 14,000,000 more than Biden’s. It was 2,000,000 less than Obama’s, but Neilsen pointed out that Obama’s speech played on a few more networks than Palin’s.

Two words. Rick Lasio. Ask him how a man can destroy his own candidacy by bullying a woman during a debate. Never heard of him? Well, he’s the guy who went down in flames in NY when he ran against Hillary Clinton. He left his podium and walked right up to her face. It was over for him that day. A most embarrassing bashing at the polls. The little twit.

They also consider an historical remark about Pres. Johnson implementing Dr. King’s goals as disrespectful to Dr. King.

For months and months, Hillary warned the people of her party that McCain was a formidable foe, and that she was best equipped for the tough battle ahead. They laughed and jeered at her, called her a bitch and a whore. They didn’t appreciate the fact that she fought to the end to show them her formidable abilities. They said she was being divisive, getting in the way and stealing the wunderkind’s thunder. So, they forced her to the sideline and blissfully sent out a rookie to do a warrior’s job, to slay the Republican dragon with his rhetorics and charms. Bill was right, it’s a fairy tale alright. And really, how can this not end badly?

The troop surge in Iraq has been more successful than anyone could have imagined, Barack Obama conceded Thursday in his first-ever interview on FOX News’ “The O’Reilly Factor.”

As recently as July, the Democratic presidential candidate declined to rate the surge a success, but said it had helped reduce violence in the country. On Thursday, Obama acknowledged the 2007 increase in U.S. troops has benefited the Iraqi people.

“I think that the surge has succeeded in ways that nobody anticipated,” Obama said while refusing to retract his initial opposition to the surge. “I’ve already said it’s succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.”

There was also a long tradition in southern politics to talk about the block vote. This meant that appealing black votes was illegitimate and somehow did not count. If you know much about American history, especially of the South, you know that this is a very sensitive issue. It is funny that people here are so sensitive to sexist language, but see no problem using other types of code words.

The Obama campaign has raised questions about Palin’s qualifications based on her six years as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, and less than two years as governor, but Obama himself has said her family should be off-limits. He also said he would fire any staffer who talks about it.

Palin spokeswoman Maria Comella said: “We appreciate the fact that he came out and condemned this kind of personal attack.” Asked whether Palin thought Obama or his running mate, Delaware Sen. Joe Biden, were personally responsible for the attacks mentioned in the letter, Comella said, “No.”

Speaking on other national security matters, Obama said he would not take military action off the table in dealing with Iran, but diplomacy and sanctions can’t be overlooked.

Correct me if I am wrong…is not he flopping on this one too?

Islamic republic is a “major threat” and it would be “unacceptable” for the rogue nation to develop a nuclear weapon, he said.

“It is unacceptable for Iran to possess a nuclear weapon, it would be a game changer,” Obama said. “It’s sufficient to say I would not take military action off the table and that I will never hesitate to use our military force in order to protect the homeland and the United States’ interests.”

But Obama also warned against the current U.S. administration lumping radical Islamic groups together.

“They have fueled a whole host of terrorist organizations,” Obama said of Iran, but “we have to have the ability to distinguish between groups. … They may not all be part and parcel of the same ideology.”

Joe Biden thinks Iran has Arabs, they are Persian. Obama thinks they speak Arabic in Afghanistan. The z team at work, but hey they have 300 advisers eh?

That day has passed, not sure when it did but it did.

The attack from within, from obamacrats was too much damage to survive. Talking with many people who are now supporting McCain they not only do not like or trust ob they also bought the Hillary smears and think some of them are true.

The obots not only supported a loser – they destroyed our WINNER in the process.

Just remember Hillary’s “fact hub” on her site and how constantly she was misrepresented to the public.

Only some of that nbo and obot hatred towards her was debunked, sadly, much of those lies stuck.

The DNC is too entrenched in Chicago and the radical left and the demonizing of her now to bring Clinton back. I’m convinced ob didn’t vet her for that reason, his own words about her were too harsh and his own slash and burn treatment of Hillary and her supporters would not allow it.

He couldn’t reach out to us after spitting on us and on both Clinton’s. He rang his own death bell.

Yes, Hillary is still the best, based on her proven abilities. I have seen Palin’s flaws. She too relies too much on her personalities and charms to get her ways. It doesn’t hurt to have big daddy McCain behind her holding off the big boys with more seniority in her own party from sabotaging her. Seriously, the Republican Party had its back against the wall last week, and she is now the designated savior. Her rise is not unlike BO’s at all. If the Dems had any sense, they would have a Clinton/BO ticket now, which would have a good fighting chance.

Obama is a Muslim by birth and according to the Koran, once a born Muslim, forever a Muslim.

If Obama deserts his religion by birth, Obama is considered as an apostate and the penalty according to the Muslim Law, it’s only death!

The politics we are experiencing now from the Democratic Party is sort of politics from the Islamic religion.

This is the kind of life the Americans will have to live with if Obama is the President.

An education publication says the Palin administration drastically increased special needs funding, and ironed out rural/urban inequities:

    http://www.edweek.org/ew/articles/2008/04/30/35recaps.h27.html

    Alaska

Gov. Sarah Palin and state lawmakers have gone ahead with an overhaul of Alaska’s school funding system that supporters predict will provide much-needed financial help to rural schools and those serving students with disabilities.

The plan, enacted in the recently concluded session of the legislature, is based on recommendations issued by a legislative task force last year. It will phase in a greater flow of money to districts outside of Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, over the next five years.

Advocates for rural and remote schools have lobbied for years for more funding, in particular noting the higher fuel, transportation, and other costs associated with providing education in communities scattered across the vast state.

A second part of the measure raises spending for students with special needs to $73,840 in fiscal 2011, from the current $26,900 per student in fiscal 2008, according to the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development.

Great post Uppity. Yep, trapped in their own irony.

I’ve sure been having a lot of funerals for people’s integrity lately. Sigh.

Seems like many so called Democrats are bound and determined to lose the moral high ground to the party of George Bush. Thru their own actions. They should really think about what that means. It almost defies the laws of physics.

While Republicans and Democrats predictably favor their party’s candidate by overwhelming margins, the experience gap among voters unaffiliated with either party is even narrower than the national totals. Forty-two percent (42%) say Obama has better experience to be president, but 37% say Palin does.

    Who was ArcXIX?

he ArcXIX character from the Daily Kos is quickly trying to hide his tracks.

ArcXIX/Agent Arc seems to created his web presence in 2005.

He seems to be a lowlife twenty-fivish male from Columbus, OH infatuated with movies and Batman and creating and posting web images.

In the past few days, he has changed profiles to gosamgo and deleted blogs and has tried to cover his tracks. Google cache is still visible: this cache seems fairly incriminating: “Charles Hartley’s Page on 1UP.com “AgentArc”. Rank: Genome Soldier Total Points: 14231 AIM Name: ArcXIX. Charles’s Status … Charles Hartley’s My1UP Page: AgentArc.1up.com …” The non-cache page at 1Up.com is empty.

ArcXIX turned out to be Charles Hartly, but then…

For those unfamiliar with ArcXIX, don’t feel bad. His last post on Daily Kos was about gay cowboy wizards, and that was all the way back in December, 2005. In other words, ArcXIX smells like a shill identity. In just 48 hours, ArcXIX turned up countless old photos of the Palin family and even Bristol’s school records. In other words, this is not the work of an occasional blogger, but that of a serious opposition research team meant to make sure Palin’s political life is nasty, brutish and short.

I’ve got two questions for the Governor.

    1. Will she protect, defend and respect THE RULE OF LAW?

    2. Will she protect, defend and respect our U.S. Constitution?

IMO, everything else is secondary. We SEE what happens when there is lawlessness and disregard for our rights and liberties. This country needs balance.

We have a right to demand accountability from our elected officials. Lack of accountability creates a dangerous precedent. This country will be swallowed whole if we don’t get back to basics. A solid foundation is what I’m looking for. Ethics. Integrity. Principles.

I view Gov. Palin as a candidate who may actually cherish these values as much as I do. What a refreshing change!

This is a pseudo fact. The truthiest part might be that “uppity” was used more that way in the south. That only makes it a regionalism. Thanks, Uppity—great post. Karma is a bitch, but it couldn’t be happening to a more deserved bunch. I have new respect for the Republicans, which I completely lost for them during the ’00 and ’04 elections and throughout the Bush/Cheney years. But it seems they have really looked in the mirror to see that they were losing the moral high-ground, which seemed to belong to we Dems. Now the roles have reversed—-the Dems. have lost the moral high ground and the Repubs. have claimed it.

It seems like the Dems. have made the Faustian bargain—losing their souls in order to “win elections.” It’s going to backfire as it always does when those bargains are made.

Carly Fiorina’s public denouncement of the media’s sexist attacks against Palin was so inspirational. She spoke of Hillary’s historic presidential campaign with all the respect she deserved. I kept wondering where were Pelosi, Feinstein, Boxer when all the attacks came out against Hillary. I know Hillary did not want to be seen as weak and perhaps not needing protection. But it was so, so very disappointing to have them stay silent. And, even having another supposed Dem (Obama) attack another Dem., the Clintons, so vociferously made me lose even more respect for our party.

Was so happy to hear Palin go after Obama (styrofoam pillars, phoney presidential seal)—I was cheering! Hillary couldn’t come out and attack like that because of her love for the Dem. party.

Obama has just handed McCain / Palin a tailor made ad.
    The simple gist would be:

    Obama:
“I think that the surge has succeeded in ways that nobody anticipated.”

Nobody? John McCain did Anticipate it and acted to authorize it.

    Obama:
The surge “succeeded beyond our wildest dreams.”

Succeeding in Iraq was not a wild dream. The success of the surge was the product of decisive action. Action by a candidate who’s ready on day one. John McCain took action.

It seemed to me that while Obama said his campaign was about hope and change, what united his supporters was a mixture of misogyny and hate.

His was a dirty campaign, and the tactics he used against Hillary will not work in the GE because we are all galvanized against it. The Republicans also have his number and have circled their wagons around Palin.

If Hillary had the support of our party, she would be our nominee and we would have a Dem in the White House in the fall.

Americans must differentiate the difference between an African black and an African Muslim!

If you put an African black into the white house, the most he will probably mess up the white house and leave your home alone, a la George Bush!

But if you put an African Muslim into the white house, he will not only mess up the white house, but also mess up every home in the USA!

The African Muslim who is president will be like a ghost clinging to every American soul in every home of the USA, giving all kinds of problems to the American people even in homes of America!

I dunno, but if I didn’t know any better I’d have to say I smell a rat the size of Carl Rove here.

Is Sarah Palin being gender-baited by the O-bots? Yes. By the corporate media, i.e. Olbermann and whatnot? Yes.

Even so, Palin will never be subjected to level of gender-baited that Hillary was put thru, or for that matter, race-baiting.

The corporate media is very quick to play up the fact Palin is being gender-baited–something they refused to give to Hillary until Hillary dropped out. They’re even going as far as admitting, with much feigned anguish, that some amongst their own ranks are doing it. This courtesy was never given to Hillary. Indeed, that degenerate tin horn Chris “shivers up my leg” Matthews actually said of Hillary late in the Democratic primaries when she finally cried foul w.r.t. all the gender baiting she was put thru, “She’s playing the gender card there!”

An African American who is subjected to blatant racism has every right, indeed duty, to cry foul. Likewise, a woman subjected to blatant sexism has every right/duty to cry foul. Of course, Barack O’Bullshit was crying wolf the whole time, for he’s is the quintessentially wolf in sheep’s clothing when it comes to the race-card. That race-baiting douchebag always plays the role of good cop/bad cop and that of a perpetual victim of Hillary and Bill’s NONexistent white racism.

Sarah Palin, and of course McCain, are getting a lot of sympathy from this, from within in the media coverage itself–something that was never afforded to Hillary when she was still in the race. Clearly, the corporate media is playing the wedge issue of sexism in favor of Palin. They are targeting us PUMAs.

Regardless, I’m still voting for the McCain/Palin ticket because Obama is at least as guilty of such ruthless and divisive Machiavellian tactics.

    Hey, it’s only KARMA!

Obama divided the once rock solid democratic coalition. Let’s let him reap what he sowed.

That fiasco in the stadium is coming back to bite 0bama in the butt.

Last night was so authentic and the way Conventions are supposed to be.

The idea of no roll call and him in a stadium with all those people was just an ego trip on his part. And all he succeeded in accomplishing was people’s derision.

The effect of him making that speech made him inaccessible, remote, attempting to be God-like.

Sarah on the other hand was in a crowd of fellow Party members, cheering for her. She was accessible, genuine, charismatic, REAL.

And it was not because she’s white and 0bama’s black. I’m AA and 0bama is remote, and icy to me. He reminds me of the men I used to have wait on.

If I had my choice right now, I’d rather have a night out with Sarah than with 0bama.

    That’s the way it is.

He’s not connecting. And there’s nothing the DNC can do about it.

McCain has played it smart. He paid attention the Democratic Primary and he’s filling the void that Hillary left. And not just among women.

NEA statement on selection of Palin for VP

The 3.2 million members of the National Education Association are pleasantly surprised by Senator John McCain’s selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to join his ticket as the Republican nominee for vice president.

“While she is only in her second year as Alaska’s Governor, she has thus far shown herself to be a supporter of children and public education. She comes from a family of educators. Her father was a teacher, her brother is a teacher, and her mother was an education support professional.

“In her less than two years as the state’s chief executive officer, she was able to increase per-pupil education spending, and she is opposed to sending public money to support private schools through political schemes like vouchers.
“Her selection, however, has certainly taken the issue of experience off the table for political debate.”

Funny how you all pretend to be PO’d Hillary supporters, but Palin herself said:

“When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism or, you know, maybe a sharper microscope put on her, I think, man, that doesn’t do us any good. Women in politics, women in general wanting to progress this country. I don’t think it’s, it bodes well for her — a statement like that.”

You may not like the way some Obama supporters behaved towards Clinton, but Obama himself never engaged in any of the trash talking. In contrast, Palin basically called Hillary a whiner and said that THAT is why she couldn’t support her.

The truth is that she couldn’t support Hillary, though, because she disagrees with Hillary on NEARLY EVERY ISSUE! Her positions on the issues aligns with Scalia or Thomas, and that is the type of Justices we will see on our Supreme Court for the next 30 years if McCain-Palin win!

If you think you are punishing Obama or his supporters by voting McCain, think about the fact that it is your DAUGHTERS that you will be punishing when Roe v Wade is overturned, when environmental laws are loosened again, when we ‘solve’ our oil addiction by destroying ANWR and our oceans, and when we are at war with Russia and Iran. . .

If you agree with McCain and Palin on the issues, then by all means vote for them. If, however, you agree with Hillary and Bill Clinton. . . do what they are doing and support Obama and Biden.

  • cdo

Obama is gonna need the cash. If you figure how much he has so far spent per vote, it is a staggering sum.
McCain on the other hand is doing very well while getting votes at a fraction of the cost. With Palin added to the ticket, I believe McCain’s vote/money spent ratio will even improve.
Can’t say the same about Biden.
So good luck with that fundraising! Maybe the Obots should get second jobs.

This is something that would be anathema to Obama…but to McCain he feels right at home.

WHAT a difference and what a way to drive the point home.

  • Hope Floats

They nominated John McCain last night, and went state by state with Arizona passing until they could officially nominate him. I watched a few minutes ago as Sarah Palin officially received the VP nomination. The Alaska delegates made a short speech and requested she receive the nomination by acclimation. The crowd cheered, the decision was unanimous and when it was final, they played Barracuda by Heart. I cried as I watched it.

  • ned bulous

Whatever. You may want to check further into the Palin’s background, what they stand for, how they conduct business, and their association with AIP (led by the terrorist Joe Volger, who died while buying plastic explosives).

Rest assured, though, that McCain-Palin will make George W. Bush look like a liberal peacenik compared to the policies/appointments that they will make!

  • athy

    OT BUT VERY IMPORTANT-
Can someone confirm or refute the following facts in this article:

    http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/bush_criminal_charges/2008/09/04/127696.html?s=al&promo_code=6958-1

Obama MAY bring criminal charges against Bush…Doubt it.

Obama aggressively opposed initiating impeachment proceedings against the president (“Obama:

Impeachment is not acceptable,” USA Today, June 28, 2007) and he wouldn’t even support Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold’s effort to censure the Bush administration for illegally wiretapping American citizens in violation of the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. In Feingold’s words “I’m amazed at Democrats … cowering with this president’s number’s so low.” Once again, it’s troubling that Obama would take these positions and miss the opportunity to document the abuses of the Bush regime.

    Here is the AP article:

    http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/06/28/america/NA-POL-US-Obama-No-Impeachment.php

International Herald Tribune, AP Story , June 28,2007

Obama, a Harvard law school graduate and former lecturer on constitutional law at the University of Chicago, said impeachment should not be used as a standard political tool.

“I think you reserve impeachment for grave, grave breeches, and intentional breeches of the president’s authority,” he said.

If Newsmax story is correct then…here are my thoughts on this…

The anti-Iraq invasion candidate Sen Obama thought at the time (2007) that what Bush 43 did was NOT considered a grave and intentional breech of his authority?….

This in spite of the following:

An unprecedented Commission of Inquiry has found the President of the United States and his administration guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The five-member panel of jurists unanimously found the administration’s actions “shock the conscience of humanity” in five areas – wars of aggression, illegal detention and torture, suppression of science and catastrophic policies on global warming, potentially genocidal abstinence-only policies imposed on HIV/AIDS prevention programs in the Third World, and the abandonment of New Orleans before, during, and after Hurricane Katrina.

    http://www.bushcommission.org/

A delegation, headed by 27-year CIA veteran Ray McGovern and former US diplomat and retired US Army Reserve Colonel Ann Wright, delivered the verdict to the gates of the White House.

according to a detailed investigation conducted by The Center For Public Integrity

    http://www.publicintegrity.org/WarCard/

“President George W. Bush and seven of his administration’s top officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, made at least 935 false statements in the two years following September 11, 2001, about the national security threat posed by Saddam Hussein’s Iraq. Nearly five years after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, an exhaustive examination of the record shows that the statements were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses”

Now, Sept 4 2008 there is talk that Sen Obama MAY put impeachment back on the table ? Why?

    Simple…P O L I T I C A L E X P E D I E N C Y….

Gov Palin’s campaign has rattled him.
Sen Obama will say and do anything to us (what he consdiers as ) ignorant, ethically malleable common folk to get elected…

Yes Sen Obama, you MIGHT put impeachment back on the table???

    Remember FISA people….

This man will offer you the world and deliver a big fat ZERO…

The Clintons had close friends/donors who broke the law, and Pres. Clinton pardoned members of the Weather Underground (ones who were actually CONVICTED and were in jail, not college professors who were never charged with a crime).

This BS didn’t work against the CLintons and it doesn’t work against Obama. Your willingness to use such discredited stories, though, shows that you’re engaging in the same tactics used against Clinton herself!

Once he had the nomination, he’s done NOTHING TO WOO that base. Instead, he issues edicts like: “Get over it!” And you Botheads follow, echoing the same.

OBushMA! You’re right Biden is just going through the motions–he can’t stand the little twerp. Anyone else would not jetison their VP nominee however, Obama would. Obama would jetison anyone to become the President.

Fool that he is he forgot he is running for President not VP and the attacks on a woman didn’t go over well with the public. To say the least–Obama is not very popular today no matter what his mirror tells him. If he thought the right wingers were going to come over to him — he is laughable. Obama has done what no one has been able to do in 100 years he has brought the Dems and Repubs together against him. WTG BO.

Excuse me Karen, but you are mistaken. Late in the primary, she was ahead of Obama in the polls, if you believe them,, but definitely ahead in electoral college votes. If Obama tanks in the polls, the money will dry up. If he loses this election, he will have no coattails and he will be done. That is when the DNC leadership changes and it will go back to those who lay this disaster at the feet of Pelosi, Dean, Reid, Brazil and the others. If you plan a coup, you had better win because you don’t get a second chance. It’s always about who can bring in the most money. That’s why someone like Pelosi was elected speaker.

“But Obama didn’t mention race until the SC primary when Pres CLinton compared him to Jesse Jackson!”

Wrong. Obama’s proxies accused both Bill and Hillary of “racial insensitivity” well before SC. Jesse jackson Jr. accused Hillary of not “crying for Katrina victims”. Obama said Hillary’s comments comparing LBJ and MLK were “ill advised”. The race-baiting memo went out to SC democrats BEFORE the primary. All of this led UP to Bill referring to Jackson’s 1988 win, by which point he had already been hounded unfairl.

This race crap was used by Axelrod to help Deval Patrick get elected Governor in Massachusetts, so it’s a well known ploy of the Obama campaign.

Okay, first of all the 8 million is probably from some other slumlords or thugs BO knows while their tenants go without water. Or it’s just another lie to add to his 2 memoirs. At any rate CNN has no credibility, poor ratings and people’s eyes are beginning to open and they are seeing this propaganda for what it is. If you are capable go look at Obama’s speeches in South Carolina, that was when he started playing the race card. He wasn’t getting 95% of the black vote at that time, many people were saying he wasn’t “Black Enough”. Obama went to S.C and started using the favorite words of Malcolm X and Louis Farrakhan to let the folks know that he was black enough, that he was down with malcolm and Farrakhan, BAMBOOZELED, HOODWINKED, and OKIE-DOKE, he kept using these words in S.C. and in Mississippi too. This went over the heads of white folks like yourself, but the blacks understood, why don’t you go look if you have the guts.

breeze — maybe it was the lesson of Hillary that made the Republicans stand up for their nominee. I blame the Democrats — they say they stand for women’s right and they allowed this to happen to a fine woman, experienced, who would have won this election hands down. I disagree that Karl Rove’s hand is in this but I wouldn’t say the same about Howard Dean and the Democratic Leadership. They all allowed a colleague to be trashed — not one stood up for her. Those she knew the longest — did the trashing. I will never forgive the Party I identified with all my life and when I see the Republicans standing for their woman nominee I miss what might have been.

What I have to look forward to instead is a landslide by the Republicans against the Democrats. Maybe a huge loss will renew their humility — if not screw em.

“Ask him how a man can destroy his own candidacy by bullying a woman during a debate.”

Uppity, you saw a different debate than I did. I saw Hillary bullying Lazio. She fed him head first into the cheese grater. That was the worst asswhipping in a debate I’ve ever seen. Lazio said some b.s. and Hillary burst out laughing. So Lazio snaps and charges Hillary like he’s gonna hit her. And she stepped away from the podium and squared off to stand him up, like “I hope your dental records are on file ’cause that’ll be the only thing left if you lay a hand on me.” And from that moment on, I was devout.

The thing is, Giuliani ducked Hil and put that fool Lazio up against her to get wiped out.

The MSM is desperately digging for something on Sarah P, but overlooking the latest on the lawsuit against Obama/DNC.

    From yesterday:

Philip Berg, the well-known Philadelphia attorney and former Deputy Attorney General for the State of Pennsylvania who two weeks ago sued Illinois senator and Democratic Party presidential nominee Barack Obama in federal court challenging the constitutionality of his White House bid, was at the courthouse this morning to file a Praecipe for Reissuance of Summons.

While the original summons was accepted ten days ago by the U.S. Attorney’s office on behalf of the Federal Election Commission, also a named defendant in Berg’s suit, proper service never reached the Democratic National Committee or Barack Obama’s agent for service. Today’s procedure will ensure that proper service is made, but the reasons behind the procedural hiccup remain a mystery to everyone involved.

“For whatever reason, Sen. Obama never received the summons,” said Berg over the telephone this afternoon. “The court mailed everything out on August 22nd.”

This time, rather than relying solely upon the court to mail the summonses following the filing of the complaint, the papers were faxed to a court service company in Washington, D.C. While on the phone, Berg received a call on the other line and confirmed that the papers were indeed in D.C. and would be served, at the latest, by tomorrow.

Still, he said, the information about the suit is out there. It was picked up by the Washington Times and by the [Norristown, PA] Times-Herald and has spread across the Internet like a wildfire. His own Web site, the ever so objectively-named ObamaCrimes.com, has received more than 5 million hits. Mainstream media exposure has been understandably slow, he said, and when I asked whether he thought the deafening silence on the part of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and more could be a sign that this information was perhaps at the heart of the GOP’s “October Surprise,” his answer was simple.

“It could be. If so, it looks like I jumped the gun,” he said, reminding me that part of his motivation for filing suit when he did was to avoid the catastrophe for the Democratic Party which would inevitably occur should the GOP bring it up closer to Election Day.

“I filed this case because of the constitutional and party implications, but I am concerned about [Barack Obama],” he said, before adding that he is still 99.99 percent certain that his allegations in the lawsuit are true. “As every day goes by without a response, I think we’re on target. Obama has a well-oiled machine that responds to everything else immediately. When McCain put out a video, they have a response video out within hours. No comment from Obama leads me to believe that I’m correct.””

    s. hall wrote: “I blame the Democrats — they say they stand for women’s right and they allowed this to happen to a fine woman, experienced, who would have won this election hands down.”

It is true that many too democrats didn’t stand up for Hillary when it came to the sexism as they did in total delusion for the NONexistent racism against Obama. However, feminists were crying bloody murder the whole time. These feminist were NEVER given any significant air time. Instead, what we saw during the primaries was a who’s of African American journalists, political pundits, political bloggers, political operatives many of whom worked in the Clinton Admin, etc., and all but a few were constantly race-baiting the both Clintons. Sure, we saw a lot of “Bros Before Ho’s” feminists vis-a-vis Rachel Maddow and fellatio feminists like Maureen Dowd, who were all too often joining in and bashing Hillary the few and belated times she even bothered to cry foul w.r.t. the rampant and blatant sexism.

Make no mistake about it: This is all by design, and the corporate media planned it out well.

Hint: Did you notice that 1990′s PC term “African American” was used almost exclusively during the early half of the democratic primary process? And after the primaries in early June, the term “black” started to make a comeback withing the lexicon of the corporate media. It’s truly peculiar (indeed quite suspect) that in December of 2007, the term “black” was still being used exclusively, but by January of 2008, the term “African American” suddenly became the only word uttered out of the mouths of the corporate media punditocracy. It seemed to come out of nowhere. Prediction: From now until election day, the term “black” will retake its place and that 1990′s PC term will fade into oblivion.

    ————–
As for Rove… Just so you know, Rove is a key campaign strategist for McCain, if not the outright puppet master of what has been going on since January in both primaries of the Dems and the GOP. Yes, I do believe Rove is the mastermind, or is one of them, behind the duplicitous media coverage that hid Jeremiah Wright from our sights until Obama had the nomination clinched.

A recent Wall St. Journal article cited here on NoQuarter said Obama never would have won Iowa if the Wright story had surfaced back in January. No shit! Ya think? *sarcasm*

Rove is a regular columnist in the Wall St. Journal. But there was one in which he wrote around May, which I found and back in May mind you, to be quite prophetic of how the “liberal” media now treats Obama. It’s so strikingly prophetic that its downright suspect. I can’t find the link for it at the moment, but it essentially said Obama’s campaign is based on the the cult of personality rather than detailed policies. This, Rove continued, makes Obama particularly vulnerable to personal attacks.

    Rove’s comments beg 2 questions:
    1. Why isn’t the media vetting Obama?
    2. Why is the media not only repeatedly letting Obama get away with his vacuous rhetoric, but indeed cheering it on?

It’s as if they are laying out the red carpet for Obama and the Dems (bots) only to cruelly yank it later on.

Anyway, here’s Wright on Hannity back in 2007:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNTGRL0OJWQ
—note that the vid was posted in March 2, 2007.

Rightwing talk radio had been screaming Wright’s name for months before Wright finally surfaced on the televised media–but only after Obama had clinched the nomination. Question: Why would Fox sit on Wright for over an entire year? Is Fox pro-Obama? Is Hannity pro Obama? The only plausible interpretation is: They all knew about Wright, Ayers, etc., and they simply sat on it.

If the Michelle “Whitey” tape or something like it exists and surfaces in October, i.e. an “October surprise”, then that’s the smoking gun.

  • http://www.progressive.org/mag_reed0508 Beowulf

Well, just take a step back and look:

    1. During the democratic primaries, the GOP and “liberal” media pundits greedily chimed in to attack Hillary each and every time Obama practiced his divisive race-baiting, gender-baiting and character assassination. While sexism was without question rampant, there was no talk of it at all. Indeed, in the few belated times in which Hillary even brought it up, they immediately slammed her for playing the gender card. Meanwhile, there was a breathtaking amount of scurrilous talk about racism, all of it dubiously benefiting the race-baiter Obama and hurting Hillary in particular, and the once all-powerful Clinton brand in general.

    2. There is now no talk of racism to benefit Obama, but an instantaneous avalanche of talk about sexism which benefits Sarah Palin, i.e. benefits McCain and the very anti-woman GOP. Palin has been gender-baited, but nowhere near what Hillary was put thru. There’s simply no consistency here.

    3. The same applies for when Obama race-baited McCain with that “By the way, did I mention he’s black?” statement. Immediately, Obama was called on it, and he immediately backed down. Understand that the subtext of race always exists and works like this: Under normal circumstances, when a minority cries racism, rightly or wrongly, it naturally causes a racial polarization of the electorate which naturally benefits the white (majority) candidate, because people, racist or not, don’t like to be called racist. This is why Harold Ford Jr., who was clearly race-baited with an ad which played on the racist Jim Crow era stereotype that black men lusted after hopeless, hapless, and helpless white women, was too afraid to even acknowledge that the ad in question run against him was indeed racist.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UZBZ4GR8Ug

Ford is a very smart guy who knows that playing the race card is political suicide, particularly in a state like Tennessee. Ford is also an honorable guy who doesn’t like to play the race card. It’s just not his style, even when he should have.

In the Hillary vs Obama case, as opposed to the McCain vs Obama case, the all-black-crime-all-the-time “liberal” media, immediately chimed in to help Obama ensuring that the racial subtext would kick in–BUT IN REVERSE, where Obama, the minority candidate, would benefit instead of Hillary, the white candidate with impeccable civil rights credentials–even though Obama’s accusations were downright dubious.

    Repeat:

    i. Normally, the racial subtext should adversely affect the minority accuser even when he is right.

ii. But for Bill and Hillary, the corporate media decided to override this phenomena and made certain that it worked in reverse, even though Obama was ruthlessly crying wolf the whole time, i.e. incessantly race-baiting.

iii. For McCain, they simply let this insidious racial subtext work as it normally does. That is, they didn’t have to do much on McCain’s behalf when Obama said “By the way, did I mention he’s black?” The “liberal media” simply let nature take is course, if you will, and Obama immediately backed down. Frankly, Obama got too cocky. He actually thought that the all-black-crime-all-the-time corporate media would support his divisive tactics as they did during the primaries. DUMBFUCK. The corporate media will only allow Democrats to race-bait each other, or for that matter, the GOP to race-bait Democrats. They will NOT allow a Democrat, much less a “black guy” race-bait the GOP.

Barack Obama said he would fire any of “his” people if they are helping fan the flames about the preganancy of the Republican Vice Presidential candidate’s 17 year old daughter? Families, so he says, are not fair game.

This remark arrived after the hurricane of sexual bigotry that was unleashed on America the day of Mccain’s introduction of Governor Sarah Palin to America. I won’t recap the shameful journalism, the smears and the innuendo here as we are all painfully well aware of what happened.

But I would like to point out that even before Palin made history and changed the political landscape with her powerful convention speech, the conclusion that many tried to force on voters was that Palin was a bad mother.

Five days after Obama said families are off limits, Michelle Obama feels it necessary to tell us all that the Obama’s will not have anymore kids because the “presidential race is enough additional responsibility”.

The Obama campaign is telling us that Sarah Palin is unfit to run for VP because she has young children. The Obama campaign is afferming and endorsing the sexism that has polluted the MSM, the blogs and the rhetoric of the democratic primary.

This announcement tells America that the Obama campaign has nothing left to stand on, nothing left to offer the voters and that they are truly desperate.

More importantly, it also finally unmasks the true origins of the smears spread about Palin’s daughter, the disgusting lies about Palin’s newly born son and the appalling sexism Americans have had to endure over the last year as nothing more than Obama campaign talking points.

Now we just have to wait for Obama to say, “That is not the Michelle I knew”.
