From the McCain campaign:

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING ABOUT GOVERNOR PALIN’S ADDRESS TO THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION

For Immediate Release

Thursday, September 4, 2008

Governor Palin Was “Simply Brilliant”

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos: “She Gets An ‘A.’” ABC’s CYNTHIA MCFADDEN: “Joining me now is ABC’s chief Washington correspondent George Stephanopoulos for the Nightline report card. So George, what about it, did she win them over?” STEPHANOPOULOS: “She definitely gets an ‘A’ for this, especially when you look at that crowd tonight. They loved every minute of her speech, but also I think to the television audience, she was appealing, she was funny, she was warm at times, very, very tough at times as well. And she really did have an ability to bring these things down to earth, bring these issues down to earth, like when she talked about saving money in the state of Alaska.” (ABC’s “Nightline,” 9/3/08)

· NBC’s Tom Brokaw: “She Could Not Have Been More Winning Or Engaging.” “Tonight makes a very auspicious debut as the vice presidential candidate before this hall and a national television audience. She could not have been more winning or engaging.” (NBC’s “Republican National Convention Coverage,” 9/3/08)

· CNN’s Anderson Cooper: Governor Palin “Is A Force To Be Reckoned With.” “I mean as you said a star was born certainly for the Republican Party. Whether you agree with her or disagree with her, no one has any doubt, I think listening to that speech, that she is a force to be reckoned with.” (CNN’s, “CNN Election Center,” 9/4/08)

· CNN’s Candy Crowley: “She Was, I Thought, Terrific.” (CNN’s “Republican National Convention,” 9/3/08)

· CNN’s Wolf Blitzer: “And She Not Only Hit A Home Run, It Might Have Been Even A Grand Slam.” (CNN’s “CNN Election Center,” 9/4/08)

· CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin: “This Speech Was A Heck Of A Lot Better Than Joe Biden’s Speech.” “Well, let’s just start with an obvious point that I don’t think anyone has made yet. This speech was a heck of a lot better than Joe Biden’s speech.” (CNN’s, “CNN Election Center,” 9/4/08)

· ABC’s Robin Roberts: “Oh, What A Night!” “Oh, what a night! Can we say this place went nuts, erupted when John McCain’s running-mate took the stage, a lengthy standing ovation for Sarah Palin, the self-professed average hockey mom. Such support she received from her family and the delegates here, even the Michigan delegates were dressed in matching hockey shirts and she did stir things up here last night.” (ABC’s “Good Morning America,” 9/4/08)

· Former Clinton Adviser Howard Wolfson: “Quite Impressive.” “And look, she did a very, very good job. I agree Democrats have reason to be concerned. Nobody should underestimate this woman’s political ability. To go on stage in a hall like this, to give a speech like this for the first time ever, quite impressive.” (Fox News’ “American Election Headquarters,” 9/3/08)

· The Financial Times’ Chrystia Freeland: Governor Palin Was “Absolutely Dazzling.” “Absolutely, she did not sound like she was from one of the coasts. She sounded like she was a really normal, down-to-earth person, and at the same time, clearly she is an extraordinary person, because she was absolutely dazzling.” (MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” 9/4/08)

· The Washington Post’s Dan Balz: Governor Palin “Ready For A Fight.” “On Wednesday night, she took the opportunity to answer back, and she put her critics — Democrats, the media and the Washington political establishment — on notice that she is ready for a fight.” (Dan Balz, “Striking Back At Critics, One By One,” The Washington Post, 9/4/08)

The Weekly Standard’s Fred Barnes: “She’s A Natural.” “She’s a natural, gifted with the ability to connect with people in a way that few politicians can and to perform under extreme pressure. She has star quality.” (Fred Barnes, “The Natural,” The Weekly Standard, 9/4/08)

· Barnes: Governor Palin “Made It Look Like She’d Been Performing On The National Political Stage For Years.” “Sarah Palin delivered what may have been the most important speech ever by a vice presidential candidate and made it look like she’d been performing on the national political stage for years.” (Fred Barnes, “The Natural,” The Weekly Standard, 9/4/08)

· The Associated Press: Governor Palin “Reminiscent Of Ronald Reagan.” “Sarah Palin delivered. But the former TV sportscaster spoke in calm, TV-friendly tones reminiscent of Ronald Reagan. Like the former GOP president, Palin warmed the crowd with quips and jokes.” (Tom Raum and Liz Sidoti, “Palin Delivers Star-Turning Performance For GOP,” The Associated Press, 9/4/08)

· MSNBC’s David Gregory: “I Think It Was A Very Strong Presentation.” “I think this was a very strong presentation. I think it was well-received. I think what Sarah Palin achieved tonight, what Governor Palin achieved, is something that a lot of Republicans who are here and who are watching didn`t think was necessarily possible. And that is that there could be a very energized and enthusiastic base of the Republican Party.” (MSNBC’s “MSNBC Special,” 9/3/08)

· Roll Call’s Mort Kondracke: “Simply Brilliant.” “Simply brilliant … It was incredibly sophisticated and effective. You know, it was derisive of Barack Obama in a sort of funny way but a very poignant way, about his lack of experience and about, you know, her experience as a mayor.” (Fox News’ “American Election Headquarters,” 9/3/08)

The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol: “A Star Was Born Last Night.” “A star was born last night–but I won’t belabor that fact, especially since it was the title of my New York Times column Monday.” (Bill Kristol, “The Speech,” The Weekly Standard, 9/4/08)

· Fox News’ Chris Wallace: “A New Star In The Political Galaxy.” “I don’t think it’s overstating it to say being right here on the floor that a star was born tonight — a new star in the political galaxy.” (FOX News’ “On The Record,” 9/4/08)

· The Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart: “Absolutely A Star Was Born In The Republican Party. There’s No Question That She Delivered An Incredible Performance.” (MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” 9/4/08)

The Washington Post Editorial: “The Alaska Governor Proved Herself More Than Capable Of Making A Strong Case For Nominee John McCain.” “Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin’s acceptance speech at the convention last night was an impressive debut on the national stage — well-delivered, with an appealing combination of charm and bite befitting her description of a hockey mom as a pit bull in lipstick. The Alaska governor proved herself more than capable of making a strong case for nominee John McCain and landing some pretty good zingers, aimed at both the Democratic nominee and the ‘Washington elite.’” (Editorial, “Ms. Palin’s Introduction,” The Washington Post, 9/4/08)

Democrat Strategist Steve McMahon: Governor Palin “Confident, Articulate And Strong.” “‘She was confident, articulate and strong. And she seemed folksy and real. So she’s passed the style test. The next test will be on substance,’ said Democratic analyst Steve McMahon.” (David Brown, Salena Zito and Mike Wereschagin, “‘Small-Town’ VP Nominee Palin Stands Tall,” Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, 9/4/08)

A Brilliant Speech That Electrified:

The New York Times: “Palin’s Appearance Electrified A Convention.” “Ms. Palin’s appearance electrified a convention that has been consumed by questions of whether she was up to the job, as she launched slashing attacks on Mr. Obama’s claims of experience.” (Elisabeth Bumiller and Michael Cooper, “Palin Assails Critics And Electrifies Party,” The New York Times, 9/4/08)

· The Washington Post: Governor Palin “Electrified The Republican Convention.” “Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin electrified the Republican convention Wednesday night, pitching herself as a champion of government reform, mocking Democratic candidate Barack Obama as an elitist and belittling media criticism of her experience.” (Michael D. Shear, “Palin Comes Out Fighting,” The Washington Post, 9/4/08)

The Associated Press: Governor Palin “Energized Delegates With A Rousing Speech.” “The Republican presidential nomination his at last, John McCain makes his case for the presidency to the GOP convention and the nation after his surprise choice for vice president, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, energized delegates with a rousing speech.” (Glen Johnson, “Palin Revs Up Republicans For McCain,” The Associated Press, 9/4/08)

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos: “There Were A Lot Beautiful And Effective Lines In This Speech.” (ABC’s “Republican National Convention Coverage,” 9/3/08)

ABC’s Diane Sawyer: “It Was Thunderous In This Room Last Night.” “Right here at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul and it was thunderous in this room last night.” (ABC’s “Good Morning America,” 9/4/08)

CBS’ Maggie Rodriguez: “She Needed To Deliver Here Last Night, And Talk To Anybody, And They Say She Did Not Disappoint. They Just Ate It Up, Harry.” (CBS’ “The Early Show,” 9/4/08)

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer: Governor Palin “Delivered A Very, Very Passionate And Rousing Speech.”
“What a night it’s been. History has been made. The Republicans going forward for the first time in their history with a woman who will be on the ticket. And we heard from the governor of Alaska. She delivered a very, very passionate and rousing speech.” (CNN’s “Larry King Live,” 9/4/08)

FOX News’ Juan Williams: Democrats Say Barack Obama “Is Terrific.” “What I have been hearing from Democrats around the country as they’ve been watching is they say, ‘She is terrific.’” (FOX News’ “On The Record,” 9/4/08)

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski: “She Sounded Good, She Was Good And She Connects With Women.” “But here’s your problem: she looked good, she sounded good, she was good and she connects with women. I’m telling you right now, I watched it from my perspective as a working mother and I can tell you there are probably many out there facing many different types of challenges in their lives, economic, and that woman spoke to women across America in a way any other candidate, male — sorry — could not have. She brings a new dimension to this race, you have to admit it.” (MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” 9/4/08)

NBC’s Meredith Vieira: Governor Palin “Energized The Crowd.” “She brought them to their feet. In the biggest speech of her lifetime, and her first ever to a national audience, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin energized the crowd and she showed that she could throw some pretty good punches of her own.” (NBC’s “Today,” 9/4/08)

Politico: Governor Palin “Wowed The Republican Convention.” “In her first national address, vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin wowed the Republican convention using wit, sarcasm, charm and ridicule in a full scale assault on a now familiar cast of GOP targets — an elitist adversary, a biased media and high taxes.” (Jeanne Cummings and Beth Frerking, “Palin Wows GOP, Puts Dems On Notice,” Politico, 9/4/08)

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: Governor Palin “Brought Thundering Ovations.” “Unknown even to many Republicans a week ago, Palin wrapped a personal profile and philosophical pitch into a 40-minute talk that brought thundering ovations from delegates at the Republican National Convention.” (David Brown, Salena Zito and Mike Wereschagin, “‘Small-town’ VP Nominee Palin Stands Tall,” Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, 9/4/08)

A Hockey Mom To Be Reckoned With:

Politico: “Palin Will Not Flinch From The Fight.” “When the nearly 40-minute address came to a close, however, all doubts were doused and Democrats were on notice that Palin will not flinch from the fight.” (Jeanne Cummings and Beth Frerking, “Palin Wows GOP, Puts Dems On Notice,” Politico, 9/4/08)

CBS’ Jeff Glor: “This Was A Hockey Mom Not Afraid To Throw Body Checks, As She Slammed Barack Obama’s Early Work In Chicago As A Community Organizer.” (CBS’ “The Early Show,” 9/4/08)

The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol: “Palin Went Right For Obama’s Fundamental Weakness.” “The attack on Obama was very deft. Palin went right for Obama’s fundamental weakness–that he’s never done anything impressive. (And by giving such a good speech, she partly undermined his claim to be the only one who could speak impressively.).” (Bill Kristol, “The Speech,” The Weekly Standard, 9/4/08)

  • JM08

Its kinda funny that everyone in the media and blogosphere spends so much time analyzing every word that the cadidates say and try to predict how it will play out over the course of the campaign etc., yet the truth is if the whiteys tapes do exist, than anything that is happening right now or has happened becomes completly irrelevant, because if the tapes are real and released than Obama will no longer be a viable candidate regardless of what the poll numbers say at the time.

  • ford

    I agree…. JM08

I have a bet with a few people about their existence.

  • fred

Independents likely to vote McCain Increased 9% after Gov. Palin Speech
    http://countusout.wordpress.com/

  • Susan B.

Joe Scarborough (Morning Joe) at MSNBC was broadcasting from the convention hall today and he said when he heard Palin he said, “I am looking at a future President of the United States”.

  • OBushMA!

It’s the same, mass hysteria in the media. The panned her for days, and when that didn’t work, now they hype her to high heaven. Palin was fine and did her job well, better than all the dull, dull men in this election. But it’s only less than a week. Two months remain till the final showdown, and McCain/Palin have a lot of work to do to help the ill-conceived BO/Biden ticket sink faster than it already is.

  • Mr. Natural

    Wow!

  • Kevin

And Chris Matthews will not discuss where he felt a tingle last night

  • http://firefox AnnieCarmel

They have now raised the bar so high that if she jumps over it, she’ll risk being thrust into cult status.

I’m praying for her to continue to be tough, consistent and to tear them apart. Hard to stay human with those tasks in front of her but I believe Sarah’s authenticity will serve her well. Stay who you are Sarah because that’s more than enough…considering the frauds you’re up against.

    McCain/Palin 08

  • tzada

Well I for one will help all I can to make that there boat sink…..

  • Sassy

I agree with these positive remarks!
Last night, I felt they were going to see who would stick their necks out first.
My family members were as delighted as I am! We talked for a long time this afternoon, and then I watched a replay of the speech.
Every time I start clapping and “YESing”, my husband just grins!

  • pal3

    Hey,

Check out my post at Michelle Whitedove’s myspace. Hillary still has a chance.

  • Urban Hillbilly

Gov. Palin seems to have really lifted up the moral of a political party like I have never seen in my lifetime.

  • Yo

Excellent post Susan. Thanks for all the work.

  • Diana

In total agreement, if they get to over-confident it could hurt. They’re going to have to remain strong and make sure all I’s are dotted and all T’s are crossed. Then we need to work on cleaning up the party. Plus we’ll have to keep an eye on the Republican party to make sure they don’t get stupid and highjacked again by the radical side of their party. We really need a viable third party that will keep both parties on their toes, to shake things up, so they know we won’t go back to politics as usual. It is they that works for us, not visa versa. We’re not their children. We’re their employers.

  • Geraldo

SPAM!!! I made misfortune to check the link–it is from June/July. Garbage.

  • Geraldo

But this is from June. Before the DNC. We all like Hill but: get real.

  • William L. Donlon

The Little Girl Holding her brother and matting down her hair was a moment rivaled only by John Jrs. salute to his fathers coffin.

  • savage

WOW, now you’re PRAISING the press? lol.

Here are a bunch of press posts about her speech too:

Listening to [Obama] speak, it’s easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or even a reform, not even in the state senate.

I guess we should thank Matt Scully for inserting the word “major.” You can go look at Obama’s State Senate legislative record here. And his US Senate record here. At last count, sponsorship of 820 laws in Illinois, and authorship of 152 bills and co-sponsorship of 427 in Washington. The 2007 Ethics Reform bill alone cannot be dismissed as simply non-existent. And since part of Palin’s own claim to substance is an ethics reform bill, it seems extremely weird that she should believe that Obama’s record is a total zero.

    and

According to the Anchorage Daily News, whose archives are the best source for Palin info, Palin has never personally issued an order to the Alaska National Guard

    and

The Washington Independent finds Palin’s handwriting on an earmark.and from fellow Atlantic writer, Ross Douthat:

Do not attack [Palin]. Stop referring to her as a just a small-town mayor and a neophyte governor who’s unqualified to be President; in fact, stop referring to her at all. Attack John McCain, John McCain, and John McCain. Attack him all day, all night, and on weekends too.

  • Sassy

The fact that the Republicans were not going to allow her to be savaged became evident…I saw several speak out about it, and when McCain spoke to CNN, I believe they realized they might be insulting the next President!
Too damn bad no Democrats had any guts…Senator Clinton had to stand alone!!!

  • tzada

My daughter and her friends were text messaging each other like crazy, they are all so excited. There are MEN and women of all ages that approve of Sarah. Like Paul said Sarah is us. I feel the same about John McCain. I think he would pull up a chair and talk to us like we were on his level.

Where are Obama’s old friends? The ones he called his tribe from school? Sarah has plenty, John has plenty. But where are Barrys?

  • Geraldo

    Yo.

  • pal3

What? The blog is from June/July but my comment was sent last night. Since she post my comment, I consider that a “Yes” to my Hillary’s question. Some of the terms I use might not be correct.

  • savage

yes, let’s compare the death of a president and the impact on his child to bedhead.

  • C.S.

And she deftly pointed out the difference between the elite “acceptance speech” by Soetoro/Obama in a fake Greek or Roman setting that cost party or taxpayers 6 million dollars and the modest Republican convention in Minnesota when she mentioned taking those styrofoam columns back to the sound stage.

Whoever thought the parties would reverse positions and the elite Republicans would become the party of the common citizens while the Democratic party would no longer represent working people and would suddenly become the party of elitists!

  • Northwest rain

And Sarah Palin CAN speak without a teleprompter!!!

So take THAT you chauvinist pig Soetoro.

  • http://N/A breeze

    Pal3,

Edgar Cayce stated that prophecy can be changed by
    FREE WILL.

I believe Michelle was right, but the pressure on
Hillary, Bill and the delegates was overwhelming.

So, the prediction DID materialize, but outside
    forces changed the reality.

    Gore in 2000:

    TECHMSEH’s curse DID materialize:

Gore was really, in essence, ASSASSINATED!

  • savage

Whoever thought the parties would reverse positions and the elite Republicans would become the party of the common citizens while the Democratic party would no longer represent working people and would suddenly become the party of elitists!

I’ll ask my local community (holla CD!) organizer the same question. Oh wait, she’s busy right now representing working people and common citizens. SNAP!

  • Ms J of FL

it’s almost like Obamasiah hysteria. every misogynist pervert from the extreme right is now giving the endorsement. last week they were questioning McCain’s sanity. Palin got the thumbs up from Rush & Imus today. everybody loves a winner. Imus suggested media sexism toward her actually did some good..maybe it was even planned. interesting theory. Henry Kissinger, the old womanizer from the 60′s, is talkin her up with Neil Cavuto. it’s an upside down world.

  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

    Poor Gwen Ifill.

She’s kept a pretty balanced demeanor in the few election roundtables I’ve seen. But last night the mask was off. She could not disguise her disappointment, or her disgust with the Republicans. The first thing she said was “Palin belittled Obama”, and she ended by wondering if McCain could do as good a job tonight. But the look on her face destroyed any pose of objectivity she may have managed to affect before last night.

She looked like she wanted to throw up.

  • http://www.deadenders.wordpress.com scott in jupiter

    HA!

  • Tuppence 411

The MSM expected Governor Palin and her eldest daughter to have spent the last few days hiding out in bed, with fuzzy slippers, watching Lifetime TV movies, crying into pints of chocolate ice cream over how “mean” everyone was to them. Ha! They found out different, real quick. Sarah and her daughter did what most American women do every single day: Get up. Dust off. And fight back.

  • Hank

Obama’s tribe friends are in Chicago, under the bus.

  • savage

but I saw the teleprompter scrolling last night. didn’t you? weren’t you watching?

    more lies please!

  • savage

    tribe friends

    racist.

  • Sarah Palin
  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

The prompter kept advancing, it didn’t stop during the applause breaks. So it was way ahead of her actual speech.

  • http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/opinion/la-oe-steinem4-2008sep04,0,1290251.story savage

Palin shares nothing but a chromosome with Clinton. Her down-home, divisive and deceptive speech did nothing to cosmeticize a Republican convention that has more than twice as many male delegates as female, a presidential candidate who is owned and operated by the right wing and a platform that opposes pretty much everything Clinton’s candidacy stood for — and that Barack Obama’s still does. To vote in protest for McCain/Palin would be like saying, “Somebody stole my shoes, so I’ll amputate my legs.”

  • Sarah Palin

When is she going to answer questions from the press? All the other candidates will be on Sunday morning tv this week, but her. It is much harder to lie, when someone can ask a follow-up.

  • tampagurl

I’ll ask my local community (holla CD!) organizer the same question. Oh wait, she’s busy right now representing working people and common citizens. SNAP!

Is that code for politicizing churches? Hey how are those people living in the boarded up slums where Obama was a community organizer?

  • Sarah Palin

This is just silly. She gave a fine reading of the speech, which is a very hard skill to master. I give her credit. However, it was very clear she was reading from the teleprompter. Talk about bots.

  • Hank

Oh sorry I forgot Ayers and Rezko aren’t black. Who are you talking about??

  • savage

well then, if i’ve got to find the clip that I saw last night OF THE TELEPROMPTER with the exact same words on it that she was reading, i’ll do so. please wait.

  • Sarah Palin

Are people on the right actually going to talk about politicizing churches? Palin has her own wingnut church.

  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

I once heard Barack Obama speak without a teleprompter, and he so inspired me that I am compelled to quote him in reply to your post:

“uhh, ummm…uhhh…we’ve always maintained…uhhh, ummmm…hope…uhhh..the ones we are waiting….ummmm…can I just finish my waffle?”

I understand that you and the other Obama cult members need to vent today. Get it all out, suppressed rage and despair is very bad for the organism.

Just a little rebuttal to this story. So people have the full story. Not just the portions that were lifted from it.

  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

    Nobody cares.

Only the increasingly irrelevant Daily Kooks and the loony left. Now tell us how we’re all going to have to get back alley abortions when she’s Vice President.

First of all I’m not a republican, but pot you are calling the kettle black! oops I guess now you will call me a racist.

  • Leisa

The teleprompter did not pause for the interruption of cheers throughout the speech you maroon. Did you not notice her checking her notes? I guess not.. heh, that is how good she is.

That teleprompter stopped being a relevant prop almost immediately going into the speech.

Diana, excellent post! Ditto on your conclusion. There is a need of a viable 3rd party. We are also going to have to clean up those fat lazt cows in the MSM. We have to break the corporate controlled scam.

Oh be quiet already faux Sarah wanna-be. Stop with your pre-scripted talking points from headquarters. I suggest you check out Governor Palin’s interview with CNBC over energy independent and her “all of the above” policy approach to solving our dependence on foreign oil. And take this back to your leader- I will never vote for Barky NoBama. I have said all along, the only thing John McCain needs to do to get me from the undecided column to vote for him was “gimme a good reason”. He gave me a good reason- Governor Palin.

  • Tuppence 411

B-O-R-I-N-G. Go back to headquarters and ask for better talking points.

  • Leisa

Ok, so in any event, teleprompter or not… She hit a home run and it took you trolls all day to get the talking points to trash Palin.

Palin never said the teleprompter did not work… so it was a viral rumor, but I have heard her interviewed before and she will be fine.

Why do you trolls seem to work in teams?

All the reports was that it scrolled ahead; because it wasn’t pausing for the applause. The same thing happened to Barky Obambi. The only difference was he fumbled and she caught the pass and made a touchdown. The real difference is she helped write it, she was prepared, she learned, and she believes her words. Barky is a friggin’ actor. The difference SHOWS!

You hateful, pubescent misogynists are the very ones who turned it on its head – now you’re whining that the world’s upside down – what a bizarre and very sick mob you are.

You violently attacked, demeaned, mocked, and dismissed Hillary – and all women – you – supposedly in her own party, the “good” and “inclusive” party, the party of “equality and fairness” – in the most filthy, vulgar, disgusting ways – constantly – never stopping – neverending. And you were so proud of yourselves, patting yourselves and each other on the back – proud of your great “victory” – proud of your gang-rape of not just Hillary, but of ALL WOMEN.

And then, since you were so “successful,” you thought you’d just go for an encore with Governor Palin – only this time you’re in shock that it didn’t work – the victims of your gang-rape and the real humans who you disgusted and horrified, have gone over to the other side – kell surpreeze – you may be a lot of things, but smart ain’t one of ‘em!

Rush and Imus are not my idea of great, or even good men, by any means. But they will never, ever, be the disgusting, sewer-dwelling filth that you bots are.

  • Leisa

This is a non-issue. The viral story was debunked by Politico. It does not change the fact that Palin hit a home run with her speech. Her first on a national stage with so much pressure on her was delivered with grace, spunk, humor and she connected with the people who vote in November.

Now Savage, is that why you sound so bitter? Are you angry that a conservative woman can be such a game changer?

  • Rev. Wright, can you fix my garlic nose?

actually I also could see the prompter when the camera filmed Palin from the back. I did see that the script was ahead of her speech, but she also had a printed copy on the dais in front of her.

Which is all consequential – or not. She’s a former sportscaster. In other words, a professional communicator.

So at this point, I don’t even know wtf YOUR point is.

The speech was sritten with the Governor, in collaboration. Let me tell you something Savage, no one- not even your Barky- could deliver a speech like that unless they believed it and it reflected their personality and beliefs. Listen, stop trolling and just go back to headquarters and report “PUMAs are for Palin!”

  • http://www.thedonovan.com/beth Beth Donovan

The organization that Obama was organizing for is ACORN – well known for signing up a lot of registered voters who don’t exist – at least that is what happened in both St. Louis and Kansas City.

The only organizing they did was getting names, so far as I can tell.

They did not organize neighhborhood cleanups or neighborhood watches.

That’s what is so great about America? The repubs deliver speeches full of venom and hate and are applauded. Yes, only in America. Then again, this speech was to fire up all of the Obama haters and the right wing fanatics. It worked. Just cry sexism and there you go. Seems like a bunch of people have had a nice drink of rasberry red kool aid.

  • savage

Get this thru your head, this is america and you can vote how you please. even if it’s out of spite.

  • Confused

Exactly. It is such a joke when all these Republicans dismiss that sexism even exists. Palin said Hillary was a whiner for even bringing it up. One good thing that is probably going to come out of this is that it may be much harder for Republicans to make these kind of sexists attacks against female politicians in the future.

I was disgusted by Palins speech last night. I’m a Hillary supporter and will never vote for this Palin just because she is a woman. Disgusting. I keep having to remind myself this is the party that gave us 8 years of Bush and his cronies.

  • tampagurl

    Now you’re getting it savage.

  • Firefly

Oh bot – the quotes highlight the fact that what you attempt to call speech is, in fact, nothing but garbage.

  • Rob in Chicago

Obama served Tony Rezko, not the people in his community. He served him government subsidies and a lack of oversite, and Rezko repaid the favor. Rezko skimmed the funding from his housing projects, leaving no reserves for repairs, and leaving no heat or electricity for residents. When he teamed up with Ayers, they somehow disposed of millions of dollars in Annenberg Challenge funding, with no visible positive results. Obama has a history of service to himself only; a lot of titles and achievements on his resume, but ZERO accomplishments.

  • savage

looks like i’m not making any friends here. :(

  • seasiren

    savage,

It does not matter what she said. She could have said the sky is pink and everyone would be saying what a great speech she gave. No substance. All of the Obama haters loved it because she spent the whole time gritting her teeth and delivering her one liners while trying to do it with a sense of humor. It was a complete embarrasment. Bush’s speech writers have been working with her for 3 days and of course she was going to do a great delivery. the delivery is not important, it was her tone. She gives Hillary and women a bad name and I am one. Hillary must have been laughing her butt off. Thinking, this is the best the repubs can do?

  • Steven Mather

Fortunately, people can vote against Obama out of upright moral and intellectual conviction, so to be able to do so out of spite is an added bonus.

  • Geraldo

OK, found this in Asia and now Googled and got it closer to home. Check this out. I think – but cannot yet prove – it’s Andrew Sullivan behind this again.

    http://www.librarian.net/stax/2366/sarah-palin-vp-nominee/#comment-119807

Check for the list of books if your browser doesn’t automatically take you there. This is supposedly a list of books Sarah wanted banned from the public library. Look at the list – it’s totally over the top and somebody is trying to smear her yet again. And the page where you find this article refuses to follow it up because there is no second source etc.

Here we go with the vermin turds like Sullivan and Obama all over again?

Comment #26 on that page states the following.

“It should be reiterated that Andrew Aucoin’s list is fake. Many of those books (like the Harry Potter titles) had not even been released when Palin became mayor.”

So that about settles it – everything but WHY someone would go to these lengths to smear someone with a 90% approval record.

Note this isn’t “old stuff” – this is from yesterday.

Then comment #28 finds the actual source of the list.

“The list cited by “Andrew AuCoin” is not from Sarah Palin. It actually comes from http://www.adlerbooks.com/banned.html. It’s a compendium of all books banned anywhere in the United States.”

The poster goes on to reveal more of his and his colleagues’ true intentions.

“Folks, we need to keep our eye on the prize here. Every time we pass on false or inaccurate allegations, we’re helping Sarah Palin (and John McCain) look better, not worse.”

Boy if that ain’t the truth!

  • seasiren

No one said vote for Barky. That is not the point.

  • savage

no the quotes were around speechwriters. so grammatically, what you are saying is, they weren’t really speech writers. and I have been talking about Sarah Palin’s speech.

so I ask you, are her “speechwriters” garbage writers? that just doesn’t sound right.

(ps I like robots, so calling me a bot isn’t an insult. at.all.)

  • Steven Mather

In fact, Uppity has more than a few words to say about how community organizers are often part of scheme that allows one group of elites to combat other elites by exploiting the poor and oppressed as tools of leverage.

In short, they exploitation of the poor and oppressed is somewhat savage, like savage’s use of them in his/her attacks on nonObama people.

I don’t think so. I have talked to several men today who were so amped for her based on looks. They could have cared less what words she spoke.
It is disgusting. So don’t tell me that the media is making this a gender issue. It is the republican party. They saw an opportunity to exploit women to their advantage and they took it. Typical Rove tactic. Guess what? It works. Typical sheeple buying the garbage the GOP throws out. That is what got us Bush for 8 years. The GOP has no record to run on so, find a wedge issue and use it. This year, it’s the disenfranchised woman voter. How freakin pathetic.

The smell of Obot fear is pungent. It makes NQ types experience a “Robert Duvall” moment.

As per usual, the Obots dismiss our experience of their disgusting tactics as delusional. They are incapable of empathizing with others, because they are so doctrinaire, they cannot vicariously experience the world through others who do not share their blindered world view.

Anyone who has not made up their mind about who to vote for like me are called names when the facts don’t hold up. I supported Hillary all the way and still do. Palin is a carbon copy of Marcia Blackburn and is the complete opposite of Hillary. Anyone who claims to be a Hillary supporter and now supports this McCain/Pailin ticket was never a Hillary supporter to begin with. As Hillary said: No Way. No How. No John McCain. For that matter, no Obama either.

Yes. That is what some of these folks believe. Asking the hard questions and having a conversation about issues is too difficult. McCain is a typical politician and does not walk on water any more than Obama does.

Your attempt to conflate “community center” with “community organizer” is duly noted. They are not the same thing, though”organizing” can and does create “centers”: most centers are created in other ways.

Uppity’s point is that “community organizers” are often used by elites to mobilize the poor and oppressed to use as tools for leveraging assets from other elites. Often, the poor and oppressed do not realize benefits from the “organizing” effort.

I begin by trusting people. Your posts give me cause to doubt that I should trust you.

Here we have a couple of Obama fucktards having a conversation for themselves. How cute.

  • savage

Hard to do with 8 years of a Republican President with 7 years of Republican congressional control.

    McCain did nothing.

(PS he only promised change 18 months ago; he’s ready and if not, millions of people will be pissed)

  • Steven Mather

You claim fails because you overstate the case.

I said your support of Obama, given his vote for FISA, tells us something about your character, which is quite different than saying it tells us everyting about your character.

Further, I am an Orwell-inspired progressive, not a McCain supporter.

    Sav-arse:

What YOU don’t get is that we are EDUCATED! I know you like to by into the MSM’s ascertion that only low information voters or racists aren’t voting for Obama. That may be true for some here but there is a majority of voters who aren’t voting for him because they have done their homework.

Who is Obama? What does he stand for or more importantly, who has he stood up for? Where’s the tangible evidence of his accomplishments as a community organizer?

    OMG!!! Don’t insult my intelligence.

You can read right? I thought you said you looked into it?

    Obama’s Accomplishments:

sponsorship of 820 laws in Illinois
    authorship of 152 bills
    co-sponsorship of 427 in Washington
    The 2007 Ethics Reform bill

(PS keep reading, you can never be too educated..the reading rainbow)

  • savage

THAT’S IT! Im not posting here ever again. you people are mean. Fine.

    :(

  • Steven Mather

I recommend you read up on Emil Jones, who inflated Obama’s resume by assigning his name to the vast majority of those bills, upon which Obama did no work.

  • pal3

You mean he stole and palagarized…

  • tampagurl

she was speaking of a time Hillary herself complained. Sarah has not complained herself. Others have complained on her behalf. Also, you left out the part where Sarah said she did believe Hillary was treated unfairly.

But you already knew that. Your job is to come here and twist the truth. Isn’t it?

  • Steven Mather

I doubt you are speaking the truth. Please prove me wrong on this one.

  • danny

Yes – they may have said all of those nice things right before they tried to slit her open right in front of us. Tobin was a complete asshole last night as was fat fucking Candy. Tobin is every time his lawyer scum ass appears out of thin air. They must keep him locked up tight until they need a prick to go after a woman. I hate that mother fucking SOB. Candy is just a pig that hates every other women on earth. She never has a nice thing to say about another woman unless she is going to stab her in the back in the next sentence as she does every single time.

  • danny

    YES ABSOLUTLEY!!!

  • Donna Brazile hating on Sav-arse & seawhiner

    Sav-arse!

The truth hurts. Obama is an empty suit who takes credit for other peoples work. Emil Jones admits giving plum assignments to Obama when others in the IL state senate did all the work.

Also, you’re all caught of in the quantity instead of the quality of what he supposedly accomplished. You know you can sponsor a bill to name a post office-Now that’s a significant piece of legislation– isn’t it!

You need to continue reading and not just what’s on Obama’s website.

    Geesh– reading rainbow– that’s original.

    Stop the hate.

  • Geraldo

One speech and it’s “Obama WHO?” Migod Obama: look how things are done in the big leagues, you loser. Haha.

  • Steve1

Hey Rob Yes where did all those millions go? Well there is that Trinity of Hell church? Than Fr. Pfelger’s St Sabina. Soeotoro-Obama did funnel funds to those two institutions of peace and love! Lol

  • Perry Logan

    Not stolen shoes. Gangrene.

  • Steve1

seasiren Yes and let’s not forget the rewards for doing good. Like Rev Wright, living in his multi-million dollar home with a ten million line of credit! Oh, don’t forget that he offered a $1,000 reward for any info regarding the murder of Donald Young, Trinity’s gay choir director and member for over twenty years! You know, the one a top PI connected to the CPD who states, CPD feel Mr. Soetoro-Obama has a direct connection to? SAY WHAT! Community organizing. Preaching that hate, cover-ups, funneling tax-payer monies to slum lords and charalans who preach the hate, yet live high off the hog.

  • Steve1

What ddo you think of the Clinton years?? So now you want to support another 4 years of the same if not worst cooruption in America. Chicago cess pool politics-hypocrite!

  • tampagurl

Like I told you, if that link isn’t good enough for you then google it. There are plenty of articles, pick one that you think holds up to your standard.

  • Steve1

savage-where is the link? Yours is to fetch, you were so helpful before! What that is not in your contract? Silly bot.

  • Marilyn

    Oh Susan,
How can you praise a person who re-started aerial shooting of wolves and bears, who is suing the Feds for protecting the polar bear, who wants to drill in the Arctic Refuge, the habitat of the endangered Porcupine Caribou and other animals.

from an old friend who knew you in the days when you cared so much about animals.

  • mimi

    You don’t know me!

So you can’t say that about me.

    I’ve been a loyal Democrat since 1968.

You go right ahead and soothe yourself with that illusion, just like Dean, Pelosi, 0bama and the rest of your ilk.

In the meantime, people like me are fed up with you guys and the treatment 0bama and his Botheads along with msm gave Hillary and her supporters. You go ahead and believe what you want. But when all the votes are counted and 0bama loses, he’ll only have himself and his Botheads to blame. He could have had this thing sewn up but he chose to stick his nose in the air and tell us to “Get over it!”

And now the only way that will happen for me is to see him lose. And I don’t give a crap about the corrupt DNP and their so-called issues that they use to get people to vote for Democrats.

We could have had not just a contender, but a real winner in Hillary.

    It’s the Party’s loss.

    And tragically, the country’s.

  • street_parade

BO called his friends from school his tribe, moron. Not racist….they only existed in BO’s imagination anyway. He doesn’t have friends, only staff.

  • red_sleeves

There’s room for all of God’s creatures. ….right next to the mashed potatoes.

  • MaryPat

Yeah, Barry spent all that time and effort registering voters only to later invalidate their signatures on his opponents’ petitions when he decided to run for office.

You’ll never convince me this guy is some kind of wide-eyed idealist. He’s calculating and self-serving, always planning his next move up the ladder.
As David Brooks snarked in his column about The Big Speech, if elected Barry promises to serve at least four months as POTUS.
