McCain Beats Obama in TV Ratings [Updated x2]

UPDATE 2:
“It was the most-watched speech in
convention history.”

- Special Report with Brit Hume, Fox News
_______________

In my story yesterday, “Sarah Palin Wallops Joe Biden in TV Ratings,” we learned that Sarah Palin topped Joe Biden’s ratings by 13,000,000 viewers, and very nearly tied Barack Obama’s viewership.

Now John McCain has topped Barack Obama. “McCain TV Ratings Beat Obama in Preliminary Numbers” at TVWeek.com, via Memeorandum.com: “Across all broadcast networks Thursday, Sen. McCain’s speech ended the night with a 4.8 rating/7 share, compared to Sen. Obama’s 4.3/7 average. …”

UPDATE: “Breaking: McCain beats Obama by 500,000,” from The Live Feed, a TV industry blog:

John McCain has won the ratings race.

The Republican nominee beat Democratic challenger Barack Obama’s record-setting convention speech viewership by 500,000.

Across all broadcast networks Thursday, Sen. McCain’s speech ended the night with a 4.8 rating/7 share, compared to Sen. Obama’s 4.3/7 average, according to overnight numbers from metered households in 55 U.S. markets measured by Nielsen. These ratings are preliminary, however, and are subject to change.

NBC’s coverage of Sen. McCain’s speech started directly at the tail end of the opening game of NFL season, with the speech pulling in a 6.3 rating/10 share, topping Sen. Obama’s speech last week by 26%. That lead-in may have boosted audiences who last night turned out in droves to watch Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin introduce herself to the country.

ABC’s showing of the McCain speech averaged a 4.5/7, down 2% from the same night of the Democratic convention last week, while CBS’ coverage took in a 3.4/5, an increase of 3%.

    Yes, that’s been their pattern.

This is wonderful news and a huge blow to the Messiah. I’m sure The One thought he would have the most viewers in history tune into his speech. The American people are tired of his ass. It’s time to send him back to Chicago.

CBS) There’s a new economic boom in Alaska — and it has nothing to do with oil.

    Call it “Palin-mania.”

Companies are cashing in on a new craze sweeping the country sparked by the sudden fame of John McCain’s running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, reports CBS News correspondent John Blackstone.

The new cottage industry involves anything carrying her name.

Palin is, of course, no longer “Sarah Who?” and, a week after her stunning naming to the Republican ticket, Palin items have become hot properties.

From t-shirts to thong underwear, from the flattering to the not-so-flattering, sales of just about everything related to the McCain-Palin ticket have been flying off shelves, at the just-concluded GOP convention in St. Paul, Minn., on the Internet, and other settings, Blackstone says.

My sister in Ohio just wrote me to thank me for the link that was posted here to The Audacity of Hypocrisy comparing Sarah Palin and Barack Obama’s records. She said the information helped her feel more comfortable with supporting her. Then after the speech on Wednesday, my sister says she is very excited about her now.

Another friend just sent a sheepish message thanking me for a birthday card and letting me know he has switched his support from Barack Obama to John McCain. He is from Louisiana, although he lives in New York.

I think McCain’s speech was good and accomplished its mission, reassuring Independent voters as well as the base. Jay Cost had a good take on it.

Is he going to wear a special suit and tie and lay it out the night before?

Maybe he’ll go for a facial and pedicure.

He’ll have to practice his smug self satisfied smile in the mirror so he can turn up the corners of his mouth ever so perfectly during the interview.

What is Obama doing about un-employment in Chicago?

    ——————————————

What is the gun shot death rate in Chicago?

Here is a real headliner: “Why is Obama allowing so many young die from inter-city wars in Chicago?”

There were nearly twice as many gun shot deaths in Chicago, IL this summer of 2008 than in Iraq during the same time frame. see link for details

Obama spent millions of dollars on his ostentatious fiasco at Invesco for the stadium itself, the extra security that involved, the building of the Greek theatrical extravaganza, the rock stars who performed, the DOUBLE decorations that were required due to having their convention at TWO locations, and those astounding fireworks!

And yet John McCain, who built his stage to allow him to practically rub elbows with his fellow Americans (to be ONE of them, rather than above them), has won the ratings war!!!

I love Americans!!! They cannot be bought or easily bamboozled or hoodwinked!

  • Denise

I’m thinking that maybe we should stay on the offense and make them fight to get the ball back.

If we just stick to the facts and listen to what Obama is torting instead of answering the torte torte back louder with facts that Obama and his followers can’t handle.

i.e. look at the two articles regarding the high unemployment rate in Chicago and the gun shot deaths in Chicago. These are facts and Obama should be held accountable.

When Biden was announced as OBambi’s VP, he was suppose to be the pitbull who would be the attack dog on McCain.

When Palin was announced and accepted the McCain VP, she came out and touched the surface of fabrications and distortions against Obambi, she did it effectively, so much so that even Axelrod couldn’t respond quickly because he was too busy massaging his balls from the kicking they got.

This week, we learned something that is all important this year, Obamabi and his team cannot react to exposure of the myths they created visa vie their Infomercial candidate. Even with the msm totally not investigating BO and lusting after him, even with all that money, even with magazine covers with halos over his head every other week, BO is still even in the polls with McCain. He and his followers are in denial, the evangelical conservative base, the working class bitter people, the former angry Clinton supporters who watched him illegally steal a nomination, the unbrainwashed young people and real, wise intellectuals will never vote for him and he will lose in a landslide. And if he tries too hard to smear Palin with any dirt he’s walking right into a trap, the Repubs are playing nice now but they’re going to start bringing out everything if he gets too audacious.

  • catherine

It just breaks my heart that Hillary has to pimp for Obama. She is too good for that crap. As much as many of Hillary supporters love Hillary- they will not be fooled. I am one of the Chicagoan for McCain. I was a major supporter of Hillary and knew when I made my decesion to support Hillary in my politically charged circle of friends and associates; I would be an outcast. Which I am. But what has happended in the last few weeks has surprised me. Many of the people I worked with for the last 18 months have gone over to BO. They have encouraged me to join them, but I can not. I carefully made a choice to support HRC and her platform and I find nothing that has been written srong enough to change my view.
Believe me in January, 2008 they were people on the line here, but after Iowa they went to the other side, but kept in touch. Now these people have totally drank the kool aide or should I say touched power. Now that the DNC has moved here, he is the head of the party.
The people here are totally convenience that they have secured their future. They also think that if you are not on their side, you are on the wrong side of history. Just today, Okry said she would not have Gov. Palin on her show. And, local media have appauded her decesion.
I have an opportunity to move to Texas and if McCain is not elected, I will move because I am an outsider in my own sity. I now know how Texas Democrates have felt for years.

I told people in Chicago back in Octoner, 2007 that HRC could not call him “black” that would be offensive. I also told them that there would be accused of using code words, but the 527′s would call him out as Affirmativve Action canidate, which is correct. Hillary tried to tell them, but they would not listen. Anyone with his experience and who was created by an apperance by Opbo on Larry King, would be exposed. They were hoping it would not get there, but it did. I kept raising my hand saying John Thune. Thune who defeated Dashall would have been more in line for a star had BO not been Black.

Berg v. Obama Update — Friday, September 5

    Obama, DNC Served Yesterday Afternoon

Illinois Sen. Barack Obama was served with papers yesterday connected with the lawsuit filed more than two weeks ago in federal court in Philadelphia questioning his constitutional eligibility for the American presidency. Service was made at his Washington, D.C. Senate office at approximately 1:00 p.m.

From a press release provided by filing attorney Philip Berg and available on his Web site:

Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama challenging Senator Obama’s eligibility to serve as President of the United States, has received confirmation from his Process Service Company that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Senator Barack Obama were served today, September 4, 2008, with the legal documents pertaining to Berg vs. Obama, Civil Action No. 08-cv-4083.
The DNC was served at 12:00 p.m. and Senator Obama was served at 1:00 p.m. The U.S. Attorney’s Office accepted service on behalf of the Federal Elections Committee (FEC) on or about August 22, 2008.

A telephone call to Obama’s Senate office in Washington, D.C. yielded no official comment, as his staffer maintained that she was “not familiar with any legal action” and, even though I mentioned that service was made in D.C. to that office, it was “probably a campaign-related issue.”

The subsequent call to the senator’s campaign headquarters, however, yielded the same result but in a more entertaining fashion.

“That’s very interesting,” said a campaign official who declined to provide a name and admitted that this was the first he had heard of Berg’s lawsuit. He asked whether anything about the civil action had appeared in the newspapers, and when told that the story had appeared in the Washington Times, he laughed.

“Has the story appeared in the New York Times? How about the Washington Post? Or the Los Angeles Times? The Chicago Tribune?” he asked. “Those are all more trustworthy papers than the Washington Times. When the story appears there, then we might have something to say about it.”

“If Sen. Obama were ineligible to run for president,” he said, “I think we would have heard about it by now.”

Berg, over the phone, mentioned that he has received phone calls and advice from dozens of lawyers across the country, and was currently working on preparing a motion for expedited discovery to be filed before the next conference with Judge Surrick. While he was unable to provide a copy of the affidavit of service–as soon as I get a copy, it will be posted here–he was more than happy to offer his perspective on the predictable response I received from Obama’s senate office and campaign headquarters.

“They know about it,” he said, noting that the story has catapulted across the Internet and radiowaves, citing 7.9 million hits on his Web site and mentioning that he is booked for a pair of radio interviews this evening, and will be sitting with a newspaper photographer for another story to appear in the [Norristown, PA] Times-Herald. “Too many times, a lawsuit can be filed and nobody knows about it. This time, the political people must know for sure.”

“The silence is proving me right,” he said, wondering why no doctor or nurse has come forward to claim the inevitable publicity which would accompany an admission that they were in attendance for the Illinois senator’s birth. “I think it’s an insult to the American public and even more so to his campaign supporters who have worked so hard and donated so much money. All they’re doing is prolonging the agony. If I’m right and they stay quiet, they could sit on it for 60 days, get elected, and the only way out would be impeachment by this do-nothing Congress.”

“What does that do for America?” He asked. “This deserves a comment one way or another.”

Never mind; I found the answer:

McCain Speech Breaks Obama’s Week-Old Viewership Record

Nearly 39 million people watched Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s acceptance speech on the closing night of the GOP convention Thursday in St. Paul, Minn. That broke the week-old convention record of upwards of 38 million viewers set by Sen. Barack Obama only the week before.

Sen. McCain amassed an audience of 38.9 million viewers for his speech on two fewer channels than were carrying Sen. Obama’s speech Aug. 28 to 38.38 million viewers, according to data from Nielsen Media Research.

In addition to the three broadcast networks and three cable news networks carrying both closing speeches, Sen. Obama’s speech was carried live by BET and TV One, which target African American audiences, as well as Spanish-language Telemundo and Univision. Sen. McCain’s speech was carried by Telemundo and Univision.

Sen. McCain’s audience dwarfed the 25.57 million who tuned in for President Bush’s acceptance speech on closing night, Sept. 4, in 2004.

The interview with KO was probably requested by Obambi for Monday to take away some audience from O’Reilly. Why? Why would a candidate set up appearances with TV prime time pundits at the same time. It doesn’t make any sense? O’Reilly runs at the same time slot that KO.

I bet they are pissed-off that FOX broke the interview in three parts. I bet they never told him that. A three part interview is a disaster for Obama. A complete and total disaster. A joke. Because now people can tune in well prepared to look for what they want to see or see again.

    Obambi’s inexperience is so evident.

When my brother was a small boy in the 1930s, he loved that book, Little Black Sambo, and wanted my mother to read and re-read it to him. No one had any idea that it was a racist story. For an old geezer like McCain to beat a slick con-man in tv ratings is big news. The other way around, not so much. That’s what you get trying to command a legion without nothing but the illusions of grandeur.

  • Lucinda

Exactly! And McCain beat Obama’s ratings without a pop star or a Hollywood celebrity as an opening act. Imagine that!
What’s really great about it is that last night during the news, pundits were joking that McCain’s speech was scheduled on the same night as an NFL season-opening game, and he probably wouldn’t get the football crowd to watch. He may not have gotten the football crowd, but he got somebody’s crowd.

  • PhxNickD

If the statements below are true, we are being conned once again:

    ABOUT SARAH PALIN

I am a resident of Wasilla, Alaska. I have known Sarah since 1992.
Everyone here knows Sarah, so it is nothing special to say we are on a
first-name basis. Our children have attended the same schools. Her
father was my child’s favorite substitute teacher. I also am on a
first name basis with her parents and mother-in-law. I attended more
City Council meetings during her administration than about 99% of the
    residents of the city.

She is enormously popular; in every way she’s like the most popular girl
in middle school. Even men who think she is a poor choice and won’t
vote for her can’t quit smiling when talking about her because she is a
    “babe”.

It is astonishing and almost scary how well she can keep a secret. She
kept her most recent pregnancy a secret from her children and parents
    for seven months.

She is “pro-life”. She recently gave birth to a Down’s syndrome baby.
There is no cover-up involved, here; Trig is her baby.

She is energetic and hardworking. She regularly worked out at the gym.

She is savvy. She doesn’t take positions; she just “puts things out
there” and if they prove to be popular, then she takes credit.

Her husband works a union job on the North Slope for BP and is a
champion snowmobile racer. Todd Palin’s kind of job is highly
sought-after because of the schedule and high pay. He arranges his work
schedule so he can fish for salmon in Bristol Bay for a month or so in
summer, but by no stretch of the imagination is fishing their
major source of income. Nor has her life-style ever been anything
    like that of native Alaskans.

Sarah and her whole family are avid hunters.

    She’s smart.

Her experience is as mayor of a city with a population of about 5,000
(at the time), and less than 2 years as governor of a state with about
    670,000 residents.

During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running
this small city was turned over to an administrator. She had been
pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had
gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had
given rise to a recall campaign.

Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a “fiscal conservative”. During her 6
years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over
33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City
increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation
(1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a
regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she
promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they
    benefited residents.

The huge increases in tax revenues during her mayoral administration
weren’t enough to fund everything on her wish list though, borrowed
money was needed, too. She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it
with indebtedness of over $22 million. What did Mayor Palin encourage
the voters to borrow money for? Was it the infrastructure that she said
she supported? The sewage treatment plant that the city lacked? or a
new library? No. $1m for a park. $15m-plus for construction of a
multi-use sports complex which she rushed through to build on a piece of
property that the City didn’t even have clear title to, that was still
in litigation 7 yrs later–to the delight of the lawyers involved! The
sports complex itself is a nice addition to the community but a huge
money pit, not the profit-generator she claimed it would be. She also
supported bonds for $5.5m for road projects that could have been done in
    5-7 yrs without any borrowing.

While Mayor, City Hall was extensively remodeled and her office
    redecorated more than once.

These are small numbers, but Wasilla is a very small city.

As an oil producer, the high price of oil has created a budget surplus
in Alaska. Rather than invest this surplus in technology that will make
us energy independent and increase efficiency, as Governor she proposed
distribution of this surplus to every individual in the state.

In this time of record state revenues and budget surpluses, she
recommended that the state borrow/bond for road projects, even while she
proposed distribution of surplus state revenues: spend today’s surplus,
    borrow for needs.

She’s not very tolerant of divergent opinions or open to outside ideas
or compromise. As Mayor, she fought ideas that weren’t generated by her
or her staff. Ideas weren’t evaluated on their merits, but on the basis
    of who proposed them.

While Sarah was Mayor of Wasilla she tried to fire our highly respected
City Librarian because the Librarian refused to consider removing from
the library some books that Sarah wanted removed. City residents
rallied to the defense of the City Librarian and against Palin’s attempt
at out-and-out censorship, so Palin backed down and withdrew her
termination letter. People who fought her attempt to oust the Librarian
are on her enemies list to this day.

Sarah complained about the “old boy’s club” when she first ran for
Mayor, so what did she bring Wasilla? A new set of “old boys”. Palin
fired most of the experienced staff she inherited. At the City and as
Governor she hired or elevated new, inexperienced, obscure people,
creating a staff totally dependent on her for their jobs and eternally
grateful and fiercely loyal–loyal to the point of abusing their power
to further her personal agenda, as she has acknowledged happened in the
case of pressuring the State’s top cop (see below).

As Mayor, Sarah fired Wasilla’s Police Chief because he “intimidated”
her, she told the press. As Governor, her recent firing of Alaska’s top
cop has the ring of familiarity about it. He served at her pleasure and
she had every legal right to fire him, but it’s pretty clear that an
important factor in her decision to fire him was because he wouldn’t
fire her sister’s ex-husband, a State Trooper. Under investigation
for abuse of power, she has had to admit that more than 2 dozen contacts
were made between her staff and family to the person that she later
fired, pressuring him to fire her ex-brother-in-law. She tried to
replace the man she fired with a man who she knew had been reprimanded
for sexual harassment; when this caused a public furor, she withdrew her
    support.

She has bitten the hand of every person who extended theirs to her in
help. The City Council person who personally escorted her around town
introducing her to voters when she first ran for Wasilla City Council
became one of her first targets when she was later elected Mayor. She
abruptly fired her loyal City Administrator; even people who didn’t like
the guy were stunned by this ruthlessness.

Fear of retribution has kept all of these people from saying anything
    publicly about her.

When then-Governor Murkowski was handing out political plums, Sarah got
the best, Chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission: one
of the few jobs not in Juneau and one of the best paid. She had no
background in oil & gas issues. Within months of scoring this great job
which paid $122,400/yr, she was complaining in the press about the high
salary. I was told that she hated that job: the commute, the structured
hours, the work. Sarah became aware that a member of this Commission
(who was also the State Chair of the Republican Party)
engaged in unethical behavior on the job. In a gutsy move which some
undoubtedly cautioned her could be political suicide, Sarah solved all
her problems in one fell swoop: got out of the job she hated and
garnered gobs of media attention as the patron saint of ethics and as a
gutsy fighter against the “old boys’ club” when she dramatically quit,
exposing this man’s ethics violations (for which he was fined).

As Mayor, she had her hand stuck out as far as anyone for pork from
Senator Ted Stevens. Lately, she has castigated his pork-barrel
politics and publicly humiliated him. She only opposed the “bridge to
nowhere” after it became clear that it would be unwise not to.

As Governor, she gave the Legislature no direction and budget
guidelines, then made a big grandstand display of line-item vetoing
projects, calling them pork. Public outcry and further legislative
action restored most of these projects–which had been vetoed simply
because she was not aware of their importance–but with the unobservant
she had gained a reputation as “anti-pork”.

She is solidly Republican: no political maverick. The State party
leaders hate her because she has bit them in the back and humiliated
them. Other members of the party object to her self-description as a
    fiscal conservative.

Around Wasilla there are people who went to high school with Sarah.
They call her “Sarah Barracuda” because of her unbridled ambition and
predatory ruthlessness. Before she became so powerful, very ugly
stories circulated around town about shenanigans she pulled to be made
point guard on the high school basketball team. When Sarah’s
mother-in-law, a highly respected member of the community and
experienced manager, ran for Mayor, Sarah refused to endorse her.

As Governor, she stepped outside of the box and put together of package
of legislation known as “AGIA” that forced the oil companies to march to
    the beat of her drum.

Like most Alaskans, she favors drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife
Refuge. She has questioned if the loss of sea ice is linked to
global warming. She campaigned “as a private citizen” against a state
initiaitive that would have either a) protected salmon streams from
pollution from mines, or b) tied up in the courts all mining in the
state (depending on who you listen to). She has pushed the State’s
lawsuit against the Dept. of the Interior’s decision to list polar bears
    as threatened species.

McCain is the oldest person to ever run for President; Sarah will be a
    heartbeat away from being President.

There has to be literally millions of Americans who are more
    knowledgeable and experienced than she.

However, there’s a lot of people who have underestimated her and are
    regretting it.

    CLAIM VS FACT
*”Hockey mom”: true for a few years
*”PTA mom”: true years ago when her first-born was in elementary
    school, not since
    *”NRA supporter”: absolutely true
*social conservative: mixed. Opposes gay marriage, BUT vetoed a bill
that would have denied benefits to employees in same-sex relationships
(said she did this because it was unconsitutional).
*pro-creationism: mixed. Supports it, BUT did nothing as Governor to
    promote it.
*”Pro-life”: mixed. Knowingly gave birth to a Down’s syndrome baby
BUT declined to call a special legislative session on some pro-life
    legislation
*”Experienced”: Some high schools have more students than Wasilla has
residents. Many cities have more residents than the state of Alaska.
No legislative experience other than City Council. Little hands-on
supervisory or managerial experience; needed help of a city
administrator to run town of about 5,000.
    *political maverick: not at all
    *gutsy: absolutely!
*open & transparent: ??? Good at keeping secrets. Not good at
    explaining actions.
*has a developed philosophy of public policy: no
*”a Greenie”: no. Turned Wasilla into a wasteland of big box stores
and disconnected parking lots. Is pro-drilling off-shore and in ANWR.
*fiscal conservative: not by my definition!
*pro-infrastructure: No. Promoted a sports complex and park in a city
without a sewage treatment plant or storm drainage system. Built
streets to early 20th century standards.
*pro-tax relief: Lowered taxes for businesses, increased tax burden on
    residents
*pro-small government: No. Oversaw greatest expansion of city
    government in Wasilla’s history.
*pro-labor/pro-union. No. Just because her husband works union
doesn’t make her pro-labor. I have seen nothing to support any claim
    that she is pro-labor/pro-union.

    WHY AM I WRITING THIS?

First, I have long believed in the importance of being an informed
voter. I am a voter registrar. For 10 years I put on student voting
programs in the schools. If you google my name (Anne Kilkenny +
Alaska), you will find references to my participation in local
    government, education, and PTA/parent organizations.

Secondly, I’ve always operated in the belief that “Bad things happen
when good people stay silent”. Few people know as much as I do because
few have gone to as many City Council meetings.

Third, I am just a housewife. I don’t have a job she can bump me out
of. I don’t belong to any organization that she can hurt. But, I am no
fool; she is immensely popular here, and it is likely that this will
cost me somehow in the future: that’s life.

Fourth, she has hated me since back in 1996, when I was one of the 100
or so people who rallied to support the City Librarian against Sarah’s
    attempt at censorship.

Fifth, I looked around and realized that everybody else was afraid to
say anything because they were somehow vulnerable.

    CAVEATS
I am not a statistician. I developed the numbers for the increase in
spending & taxation 2 years ago (when Palin was running for Governor)
from information supplied to me by the Finance Director of the City of
Wasilla, and I can’t recall exactly what I adjusted for: did I adjust
for inflation? for population increases? Right now, it is impossible
for a private person to get any info out of City Hall–they are
swamped. So I can’t verify my numbers.

You may have noticed that there are various numbers circulating for the
population of Wasilla, ranging from my “about 5,000″, up to 9,000. The
day Palin’s selection was announced a city official told me that the
current population is about 7,000. The official 2000 census count was
5,460. I have used about 5,000 because Palin was Mayor from 1996 to
2002, and the city was growing rapidly in the mid-90′s.

Psychopath behavior #5 – deceitful and manipulative

With their powers of imagination in gear and beamed on themselves, psychopaths appear amazingly unfazed by the possibility—or even by the certainty—of being found out. When caught in a lie or challenged with the truth, they seldom appear perplexed or embarrassed—they simply change their stories or attempt to rework the facts so they appear to be consistent with the lie. The result is a series of contradictory statements and a thoroughly confused listener.

BET and Telemundo. Both did not broadcast Sarah Palin’s speech so, in all fairness, she won that one too.

  • Barack WHO?

You hope pain on someone else? You are evidently a closet Obama fanatic. Shame on you.

I just heard Bay Buchanen on CNN ripping into Campbell Brown for nitpicking the facts about Sarah Palin. This morning I heard a liberal talk-radio host insinuating that the right had rigged the polls this week. They are nervous. Let them be.

So for 6 million dollars , all that Homeland Security money in Denver amounted to what?

McCain got the most bang for the buck. Is this not we expect of our government? Obama laid out the cash for “stryrofoam columns”; why?

Such extravagent expenditures are a talisman for what is to come with BO.

As for RealHillFan, what makes it tick is transparent and undeniable. Who is it that will fight for Senator Clinton after she has committed Jihad?

Is it Hillary’s ideals RealHillFan cares about? I believe not. Is it Hillary in the person of BO? Again No. I just saw BO causually pulling up his pants. Apparently the belt he was wearingwas not enough.

Burt Gummer: No tracks, no sign, no spoor… you’d think after eating all those sheep they’d have to take a dump *some*place.

    OBSP -
I live in the Chicagoland area – in Dupage County in the suburbs. Rest assured that there are many of us here that support McCain/Palin. There’s only one person in the mailroom that supports Obama.
I grew up in the city, and i understand what you mean by the blind loyalty to the democratic party there. For some reason party loyalty anasthetizes them to the cronyism, nepotism that plagues the local government.
What disappoints me the most about Obama is that he has endorsed every entrenched career politician – including Todd Stroger, who had the audacity to push through the 10 1/2% sales tax – highest in the nation – and to hire his relatives.
Don’t give up on Chicago — but if you moving to Texas because of the weather, I completely understand:)

  • Barack WHO?

    LOL

  • Barack WHO?

Yes good link. I read the story a week ago when she was announced. I’d predicted the day before McCain would pick a woman although I didn’t know who. When I found out I looked her up, found out about her history – and I immediately knew she was a winner. She’s got people shaking in their boots and I like that!

  • scorbs

I’m still blown away by McCain’s choice. He should get immense credit for showing “good judgement” as obamabimbos keep saying about their candidate, a claim based on nothing.

Remember when you Ozombie’s said Obama was going to win in a landslide November? Looks like McCain/Palin are just getting warmed up! Bring out the popcorn.

  • ndree

Could not NOT add my two cents to this.
I observed with silent joy how PLEASEd and CONTENTED and PROUD (contained pride) he was when introducing her the very first time. He had his hands together and was like rubbing his thumbs.
    A real beauty to behold.
You can see that he sees the future and redemption of America in her; that he intends to mould her, guide her, to pilot and pioneer a better America.
He is selfless in promoting her; he fully realizes what he owes her, and he is proud, grateful and selfless.
THIS IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE; IF only for that…but for so much more…HE TRULY DESERVES to be PRESIDENT.
And you know what, I believe Cindy McCain understands all of this very well!!

Obama’s primary and presidential strategies were based on a house of cards! In fact, I’m looking forward to the creation of a new board game called OBAMA’S HOUSE OF CARDS. This will surely be a collector’s item.

I was entertaining that very thought today.

    Piggy,

John Kerry and Mike Dukakis also polled ahead of their opponents.
So, in reality, the odds are that McCain will be elected.
Glad to clear that up for you.

And he’s still kicking Obambi’s ass! Even Clinton, who navigated the primaries with one hand tied behind her back and with a gag in her mouth won all of the Blue states, the popular vote, and came out about even in terms of delegates. She kicked his ass too!

And Mac did it without a $6 million faux Grecian temple or the spectacle.

Gee, maybe there are intelligent people left in the U.S. who actually want to tune in to the DNC and RNC to hear what the candidates actually have to say rather than sit with their mouths agape at all the pretty colors of fireworks display.

  • Barack WHO?

I have never been able to listen to him. Ten seconds was about it. After ten seconds I’d completely seen through him. I’m allergic to bullshitters and he’s about the worst I’ve ever heard of. And a lot of people I know feel the same way. He’s an insult to intelligent people.

But Hillary can campaign in a way that will point to 2012, by reminding her supporters that Palin does not compare to the real deal–HRC. She can’t let Palin fill entirely the vacuum that was left when she dropped out of the race. After McCain leaves office in 2012, you can rest assured that the economy will not be doing well and that we still won’t have universal health care.

Cool! I tried it – and Obama lost! lolz

    Shake, Obama, Shake. Haha.

  • Barack WHO?

Yeah. Like it wore off in Alaska. But Obama’s “popularity” bubble’s burst – that we know. Haha.

  • matchles

Her approval numbers are worse than Cheney’s in 2000. Sure she was a few points higher in the favorable column but she is running around 37% in the unfavorable view, with Cheney running in the 17-22% range.

  • matchles

Obama has outperformed the polls by an average of 7 points so far. So in reality, the odds are that it isn’t even as close as it looks in the polls. It will be an Obama blow out.

    Nice job on the strawmen.

  • Sassy

    Good news, Susan!
There was a lot of curiosity about Gov. Palin, but for Senator McCain to draw that well indicates that the American people are still looking for leadership!

If Bambi loses the election Michelle will go on national television telling the world that her husband lost because that old man and his honky bitch vice president spread racist lies about him, denigrating his days as a bagman for the Chicago political machine. Maybe it will be enough to ruin Bambi’s political career. A one term senator is sometimes a good thing.

Obama gave his “they’re gonna tell you I’m different” speech at the SCHOTT glass company in Duryea, Pa., yesterday afternoon. Racism is alive and well…in Obamaland.

He bought an extra large size package of K-Y for the interview. Olberman and Obama, two big zeros.
