Possible New Border Czar?

/ Bumped up /

So much going on recently, like: DADT may be coming up for a vote in the House, but its repeal is far from guaranteed, especially with the Chiefs of the Four branches speaking out against repeal; The LA Times reported the hole was finally closed using the Top Kill method of pushing mud and stuff into it, but unfortunately, the news was a bit premature (it is slowing it down, though); and border issues still causing a stir, with the troops Obama wants to allocate going to deal with drugs and guns, not illegal immigrants, even in the face of a TERROR Alert being issued by homeland security. Just like Mexico told him to do – deal with guns and drugs, not stop the flow of illegal immigrants into the US. Hmmm. That sounds like dereliction of duty to me, not protecting the borders as required in the Constitution, but I’m not a lawyer, so…

Whew – makes me tired just thinking about it, not to mention angry, worried, and upset. I need a break. Maybe you do, too. Oh, this will still be political, but hopefully, it will also make you laugh, too.

Here’s the thing. There’s this “reporter” named Joe McGinniss. He is not a fan of Sarah Palin’s to put it MILDLY. McGinniss is currently writing an unauthorized biography of the former governor of Alaska. So, what did he do? He rented the house next door to hers so he could watch her morning, noon, and night for months. Oh, and when I say next door, I mean 15 feet away from her family. I am not kidding.

Check it out:

Holy moley. So, let me understand this – McGinniss threatens a reporter with the police for trespassing, while “invading the space” of the Palin family on a daily basis. I got ya. That sounds about right for the Palin haters. “Okay for me, not for thee” sort of thing. Seriously, though – McGinniss pulling this stunt says a whole lot about him, and his character. The sheer arrogance and hubris of such a move, figuratively and literally, is telling indeed.

But how about Todd’s skills with a saw? Here’s a closer look at the wall (from Greta van Susteren):

Now, that’s a good looking fence. Todd can come to my house and do carpentry work anytime.

Michelle Malkin has another suggestion given the quick wall building skills of Todd Palin and friends:

I nominate Todd Palin for border czar.

If only our federal government acted as swiftly and decisively to protect the nation’s borders from intrusion…

No kidding, huh? Someone who doesn’t drag his feet when decisive action is required. Obama could take a lesson from Todd. That’ll be the day…

oh puke – the fraud is ready for another photo op with those poor souls in LA – wish they would just walk away & deny him his opportunity

also, bill had lunch at WH yesterday – today WH announces Bill talked to Sestak about job – WTF does this bunch of thugs have on the Clintons – I loathe that bunch and I’m beginning to lose Bill and Hillary too – is prestige & Dems more important than ethics and integrity?

  • AbigailAdams

    The short answer: Yes.

  • Obamastolemyhealthcare

Do you have a link for that?  Nothing like ruining any chance Hillary might have had about 2012!  WTF?  I had already decided I couldn’t back her again, but still, Bill, WTH?

BTW, saw Hillary the other day and she looks like hell.  That is what happens to someone when they are doing things they know are wrong.  She knows she should not be supporting that one!  I was hoping she’d resign soon on principles.

If I were Palin I would not have built a fence. Instead I would rent my house for the summer out to a reality show with a real bunch of freaks. Then I would rent a secure summer house somewhere and not tell anybody where. Let the guy spend all summer writing about the freak show next door only to find out that it is a well documented reality show. Plus, invite the tabloids to have access to the Palin attic and put some spy cameras up and catch the next door author guy walking around the rent house in his underwear. But that is just me.

My hubby and I saId the same thing, she looks like hell. And it looks like Bubba will fall on the sword for Obama. Wonder if he got another promise to pay off her debts again? Oh well, I was done with Clintons when they went to bat for the POS president.

  • My other site

RRR: I think we should mount a grassroots campaign to impeach Obama for dereliction of duty.  I think it would scare him even if there’s no legal basis.

68% of Latinos approve of Obama’s job (compared with 48% of overall respondents and 38% of whites), and they view the Democratic Party favorably by a 54%-21% score (versus 41%-40% among all adults and 34%-48% among whites).

And their views of the Republican Party? In the poll, the GOP fav/unfav among Latinos is 22%-44%. What’s more, Latinos think Democrats would do a better job than Republicans in protecting the interests of minorities (by 58%-11%), in representing the opportunity to move up the economic ladder (46%-20%), in dealing with immigration (37%-12%), and in promoting strong moral values (33%-23%). The only advantage they gave Republicans was in enforcing security along the border (31%-20%).

    Keep up that outreach, folks!

What is the signifigance of Clinton offering a job as opposed to Rahm? Does Clinton still have some protection or information privilege? Or, is it just that Clinton has shown that he can creatively define “is”? Or, are they saying if they are going to have a truth squad… let them publicly try and humliate Clinton and are they thinking that it will cause the old blue dog type democrats to come home to Barry daddy? I wish these guys spent as much time fixing the economy and making an atmosphere for jobs as they spend plotting and wscheming this kind of stuff.

The Palins should put a mega-watt sound system on top of that fence and leave it blasting 24/7 while they stay with relatives! See how much writing that stalker gets done!
If that fails, take target practice with the moose guns!

  • Docelder

Screw the polls they are rigged anyway. Somebody needs to do the right thing for a change and quit pandering to the pollsters.

  • Diana L. C.

    RRRA,

Thansk for the post.  I have several good ideas.

First, you wrote, “That sounds like dereliction of duty to me, not protecting the borders as required in the Constitution, but I’m not a lawyer, so…”  Well, it appears to me that you may have a far better grasp of the law than most of the lawyers in Washington.   Maybe you should go for the law degree; you’d be a lwayer I would welcome to Washingotn.

Second, it was encouraging news that there had been some movement on DADT.  I think it was a good message that many, many people are behind this.  It saddens me that again it seemed to be almost (but not quite) a partisan issue.  Wish the Republicans could get this one right.

Third, I know that this McGinniss guy is not doing anything illegal–even though he’s being a real jerk.  And I know that Palin, celebrity that she is, must put up with things that other national celebrities and public figures must, but somehow I don’t think that newscasters would be so gleeful about a possible new SNL skit if it were about one of their lefty darlings.

Fourth, we DO need to get to the bottom of how all the WH dealing is being done.  It saddens me that Clinton is involved.  Here in CO we’re still angry about O’s appearance here for Bennett (a Dim) in a primary race with Romanoff (another DIM).  It’s unheard of for the President to mess in a primary, and there were also reports that Romanoff was asked if he wanted a Washington job.  We have the sleazy Blago deal making over O’s “slightly used” Senate seat.  We have the Massa scandal.

I am suspicious that since Massa talked too much and the WH was able to use his statements to make him appear to be a pervert (???), Sestak chose not to say anything until the WH made a statement. To me that would be the wise thing to do.  Then if the WH makes false statements, he could counter them more easily.

What a carny show our country’s news has become.  Makes me very sad and embarrassed.  :’(   :-[

  • Armymom

The Atlantic 1st posted this poll, hysterical coming from Sullivan. God some people are soooooo stupid

  • wodiej

    I second that.

  • wodiej

I would never support her or anyone else who puts a price tag on their ethics and integrity.  Her and Bill have neither.

  • wodiej

some good ideas for the Palins from you all.  I opt for renting the house out and staying somewhere else for the summer.  They can afford it now.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Honestly, I have to agree abt Hillary.  She looks completely worn out.  I know she has a tough schedule, but working for Obama has aged her.

I cannot believe Bill, either.  I have lost all respect for him.  Obama calls him a RACIST, and Bill takes the fall for him?  Pathetic.

I also have to wonder if this is how it went down in the first place, Obama would have been all too happy to hang this on him from the beginning.  So why wait until NOW to blame Bill?

And oh, btw, it is STILL illegal for Bill to have done that on Obama’s behalf, if indeed Bill was the responsible party (and I seriously doubt he was)…

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

That is an excellent point.  I bet they wish they had thought of that.

Did you see how quickly that reporter threatened to callt he police on the reporter for trespassing?? Very telling.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

I’m game, MOS!  He has been derelict, so there’s that…

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

ROTFLMAO – oh, Sassy – that would be freakin’ AWESOME!  Maybe we should rent a boat and sit in front of this guy’s house and report on how he deals with it!  :-D

  • ~~JustMe~~

I expect the “Peeping Tom” will be using the gap under the fence to see what’s going on!
It takes all sorts! What a creep.

  • I’m a Linda too

As I said when I first learned of this, it falls right under the “STALKING” category.

And all the leftists/excuse makers/hypocrites…as we see even from McGinnis hiimself (tha twas amazing-thanks for the clip), they are trying to use the term “old fashionn reporting” or “leather to the pavement reporting” and claiming “this is what all real reporters do”.

I guess they left and the lamestream media are trying to tell us, they can only really report on a subject if they move next door to the story.  That explains the pathetic nature of no more reporting from the left …ie lamestream media.  Also account for how we haven’t been given any real reporting on Barry, they couldn’t move in next door.

  • ~~JustMe~~

Plus, invite the tabloids to have access to the Palin attic and put some spy cameras up and catch the next door author guy walking around the rent house in his underwear

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Why, thank ya, Diana.  I did consider going into law after seminary once I left the Episcopal Church and before I became a UU.  I did legal work for prisoners, too, so there’s that.  Anyway – nice compliment, thank you!

Well, now we know abt the Sestak thing.  Are they going to claim Bill also talked to Romanoff, too??  Why more reporters/Congresspeople are not putting those two together is beyond me.  Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and fire is what we have.  (I still cannot believe Bill is taking the fall for this.  WTH does Obama have on him, or did he promise him???)

Yes, positive movement on DADT on the Congressional side, but the Chiefs have a lot to say abt its implementation, and they can wait for some time before doing so, if they do at all!  Sheesh…

    Great comment…

It’s important to note that Joe McGinniss isn’t just a random author who decided that trampling on Sarah Palin’s privacy is the best way to make a quick buck this year. In March of 2009, he wrote a column for Condé Nast’s Portfolio that was dishonest at best, in which he claimed that Palin was the true impediment to the development of Alaska’s gas-pipeline. In the Fall of 2009, McGinniss bid $60,100 at a Ride 2 Recovery eBay charity auction in order to win the featured prize, dinner with Sarah Palin. McGinniss commented to AlaskaDispatch.com via email that, “I think such a dinner would be the perfect way to kick off the reporting for my new book: Sarah Palin’s Year of Living Dangerously.” In the Fall of 2009, McGinniss stopped by the Palins’ Wasilla house to deliver a copy of Going to Extremes, his 1980 book. He also happened to be in The Villages in Florida when Palin was there on her book tour. And now he’ll be sleeping, dining, and peering from just 15 feet away.

    ndo…?

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Yes, indeed, Rosa – thank you for highlighting that.  As I said above, he doesn’t exactly hold Sarah Palin high esteem from previous writings on his part.  Thanks for making this clear.

  • Docelder

I know, note the trash bags right past the hole in the bottom of the fence. I wondered if that space is for snow and ice melt that it was built like that. But, I would put some motion detected infrared cameras watching the hole just in case. You know Alaska is a big and rugged place and I am sure the Palin’s could rent and comfortably spend the summer in a place they would double dare this guy to come to. There are a lot of bears and wolves in the woods up there. No place for a guy afraid of a reporter.

  • Ha!Ha!

    Drill Baby Drill!

Yeah right Todd Palin built that fence. With all their millions now I am sure they hired someone to do it. They would probably have hired a Mexican to do it if there were more Mexicans around their neighborhood.

  • Ha!Ha!

joe mcginniss is the guy who wrote “The Selling of the President” about Nixon’s 1968 campaign, which got on NYT best seller list when he was in his mid 20s. Also wrote a book about Teddy K and several about murder cases, plus a bunch of other stuff. By this time he obviously has no empathy, no shame and churns books out to maintain his lifestyle. All I can say is that the Palins should mix some choice and unpleasant tidbits in with the trash.

  • Katmoon

    RRA,

I believe that is what selling one’s soul looks like on the outside; and you know I do not say this easily.

My thoery on blaming Bill, the final nail in the coffin of electibility for Hillary, I beleive it with all my heart, and somewhere there must be something that the Clintons have conern over enough, the cowardly, lying thug machine from chicago has…no witness protection for post President’s or working SOS’s, I suppose. Ugh, horrible, horrible stuff.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

    Katmoon, nice to *see* you.

You know, I just said to somene today that I hope whatever Bill got from Obama yesterday “was worth it, though I don’t know what a soul sells for these days…”

And yes, you can see it with Hillary.  Sad, sad day when she threw her lot in with him, and Bill, too.  After all of the hateful, mean spirited, insulting things Obama and his minions said abt them, why they would do his bidding is disturbing, and discouraging.

I’m preparing myself for rulings by liberal judges on both Arizona’s immigration law and the healthcare reform legislation, just in time to influence November’s election.
We will likely see hispanics holding victory rallies in the streets.
President Clinton has intervened several times on behalf of the current administration. He attended a caucus luncheon to urge passage of the healthcare bill, and he also used the “T-B” term.(innocently, I hope)

HERE IS A NEW, IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT IN ARIZONA:

    Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer abruptly
    suspends state’s attorney general
    from illegal immigrant law defense

    Los Angeles Times,
    by Andrew Malcolm

    Original Article

    5/29/2010

A sudden new twist in the ongoing rhetorical and legal struggle over Arizona’s tough new law to round up illegal immigrants. Late Friday night as the Memorial Day weekend began, Arizona’s Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, in effect, suspended the state’s Democratic attorney general from defending the new law in upcoming legal challenges. The measure, known as S.B. 1070, is due to take effect this summer and, among other things, allows local police under federal guidelines to check the immigration status of people they stop.

  • I’m a Linda too

And of course, Sarah Palin was the reason Alaska got the Pipeline done.

I guess him getting his stories completely wrong, he thought the only way he could get anything right was if he moved next door.  Or, it may all be just his attempt at selling his book “to get you this information, I moved to Alaska and right next door”.  Of course, he doesn’t say truth, just the information.

Which ofcourse the story is, the liberal media is telling us they can’t even report or write stories, without having to live with them or live next door to their stories.  I guess when their works are such fallacies, they realize they have to work so much harder at trying to make it look legit.

A lawyer is required to vigorously prosecute or defend a clients position regardless their personal opinions. Likewise, a Judge is required to failrly hear a case and make rulings based on the law, regardless his personal opinion.

If a client, in the case Arizona, can not trust its attorney to defend and prosecute it’s position, then it’s time for a new AG.

Georgia is having similar issues with it’s democrat AG.

momule, he was probably one of the first that flew up to Alaska and was going through the trash to put together any story he can come up with.

And now we know, all those liberal trash divers claims are false, they didn’t move in next door.

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

IALT, that is kind of disturbing if that is the only way the press can accurately report a story, huh?

Now this guy is making it sound slike the owner of the house MADE him move there – pathetic.  No accountability at all, it seems.

And good point abt Palin.  Isn’t it astonishing the lengths to which people will go to negate, dismiss, twist all of her accomplishments?

Why are these men so afraid of her?

Why are women so willing to put her down?

Those continue to be my questions.

Btw, that Todd seems mighty handy, doesn’t he?

  • sowsear

I don’t think the Palins should move either. I’m for parking boatlaods of “fishermen” in front of his house all day…and the loudspeakers sound like a good idea too. He’d probably be crying harassment in five minutes.
