Pit Bull with Lipstick

web2pitbull-cartoon_edited.jpg

Whoda guessed just a short while back that the Republican Convention could do anything more exciting than a dial tone?

It was a cute line, even if orchestrated. Some enthusiastic women in the crowd held up signs saying “Hockey Moms for Sarah” and Governor Sarah Palin paused to reply, “You know the difference between Hockey Moms and Pit Bulls…. Lipstick.” The Republican Campaign would never be the same.

Love her? Hate her? A little bit of both? Not sure yet? Well, there’s one thing we should all agree on. Sarah Palin hit political ground like a cyclone fresh from the Bering Sea.

And even in the midst of some of the most disgusting misogyny (even perpetrated by other women–Can’t we just stick to the issues ladies?) that continues to dog women who aspire to the highest offices, the media pundits were in such shock last Wednesday that they actually showered her with compliments.

Tom Browkaw (NBC) said, “Tonight makes a very auspicious debut as the vice presidential candidate before this hall and a national television audience. She could not have been more winning or engaging.”

George Stephanopoulos (on ABC) added, “She definitely gets an A. … It was appealing and funny and warn at times. Very, very tough at times as well. And she really did have an ability to bring these things down to earth, bring it down to earth.”

Wolf Blitzer (CNN) added, “She really did hit it out of the park tonight not only here but for millions of Americans watching across the country.” More compliments here .)

John McCain took a chance, but if one criteria was to pick someone who would grab our collective attention by its throat, he scored a 10. Now we will see how it all plays out. Pass the popcorn.

naoko’s comment on Riverdaughter’s The Confluence is required reading:

“When I saw Stepanopoulos, I was still seething about the manner in which the Tennessee Delegation had been told we had to deliver 50%+1 votes for Obama, even though Hillary had 40 pledged Delegates to his 28 pledged delegates. Of course, we did have turncoats – even though the Tennessee law requires the delegates remain loyal to their pledged candidate through two rounds of voting. Of course, the threat was that the DNC would cut off funds to pay the salaries for the organizers being paid under Dean’s 50 state plan.
Not only was the Kentucky delegation given that same threat but 4 of their delegates who are political appointees of the Governor were told they would be fired immediately. (Hillary won Kentucky by 65/35!)”

Is there any media that will report this?

Lipstick anyone? They sure were not expecting a ‘woman’ on the Republican ticket. Now they want the wise ‘Ole’ Sage Hillary…the originator of those 18 Million cracks to come on over and fix the ‘ceiling’ (save their tuccuses).

    Another WORM moment:

Barack Obama said he considered joining the military at one point.
    Photo: AP

Barack Obama says his answer about abortion at the Saddleback Church forum was “probably” too flip.

During separate televised interviews last month, Pastor Rick Warren asked the two presidential candidates when a baby gets human rights. Obama replied that the question is “above my pay grade,” while John McCain won love from the right by saying quickly, “At the moment of conception.”

Now, Obama tells ABC’s George Stephanopoulos in an interview taped for “This Week”: “What I intended to say is that, as a Christian, I have a lot of humility about understanding when does the soul enter into … It’s a pretty tough question. And so, all I meant to communicate was that I don’t presume to be able to answer these kinds of theological questions.”

Wrong! Hillary is fighting on the issues as she should and also for down ticket Dems. She has dampened expectations on what she can do and has noted that her schedule is packed with working for down ticket Dems. She has been respectful to Palin with her press releases.

    hockey moms.

  • dragoneyes

Gtreat graphic… LOL! But she’s a hockey mom, not a soccer mom, though it’s still funny. You should correct the quote as “hockey mom” was the line Sarah used and the signs in the audience said “Hockeys Moms 4 Sarah”. Of course there may have also been some Soccer Moms 4 Sarah in the audience too as it would go along with the sports theme.

Sarah Palin’s church is pretty interesting. It isn’t so much “God damn America” as it is “We have to completely destroy anyone who doesn’t believe like we do”. Start at 9:04 if that is all you want to hear. If you want to hear about members of her church healing over cell phones, raising the dead, performing exorcisms, making the lame walk, the portal to God on the 3rd floor of the church, and talking in tongues, I suggest you watch the entire thing.

  • NoTrollZone

I am not for Hillary in 2016, I am for her in 2012. I am against Obama because he is not good for our Country. But, I have read that Palin was for the bridge before she was against it and that is fair game in bringing this up.

Hillary for Majority Leader in 2008 and President in 2012! Obama in prison in 2008/09.

I think it’s sad that the media will pick up on tabloid crap from KOS but not pick up on the story of caucus fraud. I’m wondering if we’re doing enough to publicize it. We need to be louder on this issue, folks. For me, it is the #1 issue as to why I am not voting for Obama this election. Can’t we get some sort of concerted effort going to make the media pay attention to this story?

And then will come the media revelations about Sarah “Moose Killah” Palin.

  • gotalife

I think he should draw her as a chihuahua puppy.

    Scared.

  • alexei

This is not an either/or, she is fighting for the Country by promoting the issues and working for down ticket Dems.

This is not a gender issue for me, that is why I haven’t jumped on the Palin bandwagon – I don’t know enough about Palin and what I know about her stands on issues, I can’t support her. I will support her on any sexist attacks and have on this site and others.

BTW – I am amazed that she is not going to answer any questions until “she is treated with respect and deference”. WTF?? Sexist and misogynistic attacks posed as questions are off limits, and respect that she is a sitting Governor and VP candidate are required. But, deference? – never to anyone – that is what monarchs, despots and tyrants require. Palin is using this as a shield and this is a total disservice and yes, arrogance to not answer policy and governing questions. We voters have a right to know what Palin’s policies are about issues, government, governing style etal. We also need to see how she handles this situation. Really, do you think that Hillary Clinton would ever get away with this?

  • ming the merciless

It seems very odd to me that Ms. Palin believes most Americans find “a pit bull with lipstick” a reassuring image. If it had come from any Obama supporter it would have been taken instantly as a totally insulting characterization.

The baracuda tag is equally amazing and amusing. I nearly fell out of my chair when they played the old Heart classic as her RNC theme. Apparently republians don’t listen closely to rock lyrics:

If the real thing don’t do the trick
No, you better make up something quick
You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick Ooooooohhhh, barra barracuda…

Evidently they don’t know the reputations of their fish any better than they know the reputations of their dogs or the meaning of their rock n’ roll lyrics.

But that’s America – to have the freedom to worship as we please (as long as we’re not physically hurting somebody)

  • pal3

  • Paul3triple

Palin, is speaking to voters at rallys and town halls and radio adresses. Why do the press think that they alone make a candidate.
After questioning her motherhood, attacking her 17year old daughter, and even attacking her child with down syndrome, I would not feel obligated to talk to anyone.
They should run THEIR campaign. Not the media and Obama’s.
If i were them, i would send her on fox and fox alone. They get more ratings than CNN and MSNBarrack Channel combined.
Not to mention, MSNBC is only watched by far left fringers for the most part. Their highest rated show is countdown which averages 300,000 viewers. O’rielly averages over 3 million.
The media really screwed up. They went so far over the edge to try and destroy her that most folks will not take what they report about her serious true or false.
I want her to speak to voters. Not a media that has continually crossed the line all election season on women.

  • Steven Mather

Your lack of understanding about campaign communications, or your feigned lack because you are trying to create an outcry for an interview, is laughable.

The McCain campaign can make much more political mileage doing their “whistlestops,” than they can by a major interview, at this point. This is the first time in the campaign that they have had any energy or buzz. Why would they waste their convention boost by doing an interview, when they can use an interview as a booster when the convention euphoria starts to fade?

They will do an interview, when it is needed. Further, if you watch Palin’s earlier interviews, you might find yourself regretting pushing this Obama campaign official talking point.

Do you like the “not being interviewed” talking point better than the “phony pregnancy” talking point or the “pregnant 17 year old out of wedlock” talking point?

  • wodiej

    no shit…..

  • WMCB

ming, I guess “most Americans” liked it just fine, as her favorability ratings are now much higher than Obama’s.

See, when the bots talk with a little condescending sniff about “most Americans”, they are really talking about their own little fauxgressive echo chamber.

MOST Americans are an entirely different kettle of fish than you, and your guy is losing because he has no clue about MOST Americans, and neither do you.

Sarah Palin’s ability to speak in tongues might be very useful in the area of international relations. Obama, by way of comparison, speaks only plain English and a smattering of Indonesian.

  • DAB

From Financial Times article on Sarah Palin — “Mrs. Underestimated”

“Having run on a social and fiscal conservative platform, she has governed on pragmatic grounds. Using the state’s fat revenues from high oil prices, Ms Palin recently sent a $1,200 (€840, £680) rebate to every Alaskan household. Voters, meanwhile, heard very little of Mrs Palin’s Christian fundamentalism. Contrary to her promises, she has taken no initiatives to restrict abortion rights or to introduce the teaching of creationism in schools.”

She comes across as being very reasonable in interviews too — very soft spoken and intelligent.

  • Tuppence 411

I did not watch the whole video (Pentacostal services aren’t my cup of tea.) Yes both churches are extreme and outside mainline sensibilities. But I did notice one big difference. One congregation was praying and cheering for people to be healed, to be saved, to be delivered. The other was cheering at damnation and personal attacks. Remind me again which one did Barky attend? The one that believes prayer can help you over come alcoholism or the one that thinks the goverment gave people AIDS?

I was amused by the GOP’s use of the song. Not everyone was as amused as I was:

The Wilson sisters (of Heart) disapproved of the GOP using the song, stating,
“‘Barracuda’ was written in the late ’70s as a scathing rant against the soulless, corporate nature of the music business, particularly for women” and “Sarah Palin’s views and values in no way represent us as American women”. They additionally sent a cease and desist letter to John McCain’s campaign.

In an appearance on a Seattle talk show, song co-writer Roger Fisher announced he was “thrilled” with the RNC’s use of the song, because it both resulted in royalties for the band and gave them an opportunity to publicly point out that he, the Wilson sisters, and fellow bandmate Michael DeRosier were all staunch supporters of Barack Obama.

“Feminists for life is an oxymoron.”

You, my dear, are what I will call a political bigot. It is not fair or right of you to say that a woman cannot be feminist just because she believes life begins at conception. If someone truly believes that with their heart and soul, due to a firm spiritual faith, how can you possibly be so condescending about it? I do not agree that life begins at conception, but if I did believe that, you’re damn right I would be a “feminist for life.”

I am sick and tired of so-called feminists putting down women who disagree on the issue of abortion and acting like they are freakin’ nazis out to enslave women. Hey, you don’t want to have a child you don’t want? USE CONTRACEPTION OR DON’T HAVE SEX. I am sick and tired of this victimized pro-choice stance that presumes that women have NO CONTROL over their bodies up until the point that they walk into an abortion clinic.

Evangelicals praising Jesus and God. With a lot of enthusiasm. Who Knew????

This does not look out of the ordinary even to a Catholic like me.

I did not hear a single peep in that video about hate for any group. No Whitey hating, no Darkie hating, no America hating. Only praise for the Lord and Bible.

So Palins church thinks demons and evil are rampant in Alaska and todays society? That’s not news in a Christian church.

The idea that evil and temptation is everywhere is at least as old as Christianity. My Catholic church has taught that in the Cathecism for CENTURIES.

We say this in the Lord’s Prayer every Sunday, “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.”

Trying to make Palin’s church sound evil is not going to work. If anything, it makes her more appealing.

The contrast of Palin’s Church with the Obama’s Church of 20 years is going to put McCain/Palin over the top for good.

  • http://www.hillaryorbust.com Hillary or Bust

“Choice is the bedrock of feminism. If a woman cannot control her own body, her own sexuality, her own reproduction, all other women’s rights do not matter.”

You obviously have a poor understanding of the history of feminism and its various lines of thought if you honestly believe that CHOICE is the only issue that defines feminism.

A woman CAN control her own body and sexuality and reproduction even if abortion is not available. Did you ever hear of a birth control pill? Don’t give me this crap that a woman might be raped. Take birth control pills if you are that paranoid about it happening to you. In this day and age women have a LOT of choices, including the choice to abstain or use birth control. Please don’t tell me that abortion alone is the only thing that gives me rights as a woman. Bullsh*t!

I’ve been sexually active (outside of marriage) my entire adult life and I have NEVER needed an abortion. Why? Because I’m smart and I know how to use birth control properly. Abortion is something I have never even needed to CONSIDER and now you are telling me that THIS is the ONLY RIGHT that is important in my life?

I even marched for choice back in the 1990s but don’t give me this crap that abortion is the only thing that matters in my world. It matters MORE TO ME that the glass ceiling is broken, that women in politics are taken seriously, and that women aren’t treated as the lesser sex. Girls Gone Wild is a bigger issue to me than abortion at this point. The oversexualization of girls is a concern to me, and all you care about is abortion? Maybe if women weren’t just treated as SEX OBJECTS then we’d need fewer freakin’ abortions, did you ever consider that?

Women like you are what gives feminism a bad name. I am furious that you would even deign to question my support of Hillary just because YOU PERSONALLY think that choice trumps the glass ceiling as an issue. Well, I disagree. And you can kiss my feminist ass, thank you very much.

Go and read my blog, you can watch a progression of my stances since May. If you still then want to label me some sort of closet Republican then you do that only in your own stubbornness and denial. GOD FORBID an actual feminist such as myself would disagree with THE ALMIGHTY KATE about what’s important to women!

Alright!!! Couldn’t agree more. We are all women but hardly from the same mold. For Godsake give us some credit for being individuals.

This is the main reason so many women will not identify themselves as feminists. I think it’s time to change the feminist movement to one that’s inclusive of all women…not just the East/West Coast abortion-or-nothing variety. I’m a real pro-choice woman which includes pro-life. I am not for late term (but OK to to save the life of the mother) and never for live birth abortion as per Mr. Obama. Is there room for me in the present feminist movement, Ms. Steinam?

“You obviously have a poor understanding of the history of feminism … if you honestly believe that CHOICE is the only issue that defines feminism.”

I think my understanding of the history of feminism is much higher than yours.

Anyone who argues that “conception begins at life” is showing their viewpoint just by how they frame the question/statement. (That argument has been used by the right wing for years.)

A feminist frames it in terms of my BODY, my CHOICE. THE PERSONAL IS POLITICAL. It is a totally different framework and viewpoint.

So choice is the bedrock of feminism, and women’s rights are a hierarchy of rights.

For instance, the working mom who may have to interrupt her underpaid (not equal paid) job to deal with an unwanted pregnancy. Get it?

No, you don’t. And that proclaims you no feminist at all.

Enough said, if Larry can now seriously advocate Palin as a valid choice after Hillary, he is not who he appeared to be either.

Palin is EXTREME RIGHT (anti-choice, anti-sex education, anti-equal pay, for creation being taught in schools, someone who thinks humanity has nothing to do with global warming.)

If the first didn’t scare the heck out of me the last certainly does.

BTW, feminism is not something in books or articles, it is choices made by women daily and sexism dealt with daily.

Kate, you have no idea what the plight of women have been. I do know as I fought the fight. I fought it in high school in the seventies. I became the 1st female on an all male tennis team. I also became the 1st female in the welding program. I then became the 1st female carrying mail in my town. While there, I became the 1st female union rep, representing all people, all women, no matter their choice. I am more pro-life, but not one time did I represent women base on just my choice. You freakin have no clue and I am ashamed of people like you if what I have fought for has become women like you that wasn’t there. I will proudly support the McCain/Palin as I get it and know that she is quite capable of being where she is. You don’t evidently remember the times that if you were a woman that somehow you had to have “flat-backed” it to get there. Again, I am totally ashamed of what some of the women’s movement have become.

  • http://www.hillaryorbust.com Hillary or Bust

“I think my understanding of the history of feminism is much higher than yours.”

You haven’t shown this at all with any of your writing or level of reasoning here. I studied women’s studies at a very prestigious university, with one teacher being the author of a very thorough and respected textbook on the history of the feminist movement. I have been an active member of women’s organizations such as NOW and the former Women’s Action Coalition (WAC). How old are you anyway? Because I bet I’ve got years on you as well.

“For instance, the working mom who may have to interrupt her underpaid (not equal paid) job to deal with an unwanted pregnancy. Get it?”

And how on earth did she get pregnant against her will? By having sex with her husband? Or a boyfriend? Did she take precautions? If she’s married then isn’t her husband helping out with this? I don’t buy this victimization you present here. I know women who are pregnant, some of whom got accidentally pregnant, and guess what? None of them are whining about it or making it out to be the most horrible thing that ever happened to them. Let’s say Roe v. Wade got overturned (which it won’t, no matter who gets elected). You have to carry a child for 9 months and then put it up for adoption. This does not have the stigma it used to have. In other words, YOU’LL SURVIVE. WORST CASE SCENARIO.

Meanwhile, women like you are actively trying to keep a woman out of the White House just because she doesn’t buy into your dogma about abortion. That is horrifying to me.

At any rate, you hurt your own argument here by mentioning the working mom’s underpaid job – that’s PRECISELY what I’m fighting when I support Palin. By having a woman in the white house, it helps level the playing field for ALL women. If more women were in office, we’d have less situations where women got paid less than men. (By the way, the McCain camps pays its women better than the Obama camp does, don’t you know that?)

“No, you don’t. And that proclaims you no feminist at all.”

Ah. THE KATE has spoken. It is only SHE who decides who is a feminist and who is not. Get over yourself!

Let’s analyze this, the Bridge to Nowhere was going on long before Sarah became the Governor. She wasn’t on the “inside”. So instead of going ahead with a mistake that was thre long before she came to office, she decided to correct it. This is bad how? conception begins at life?? Cripes, you call yourself a feminist? It’s life begins at conception. And I don’t believe it does. But a woman 9 times out of 10 finds herself with an unwanted pregnancy by her choice. Usually it’s because she was irresponsible and didn’t use birth control or practice abstinence. Wow…that’s a concept! Having an underpaid job is more the reason she should have been more careful. Where are her priorities if she felt having unprotected sex was more important than how the hell she was going to take care of a baby?? That’s called STUPIDITY.

That is the most common sense post I have read. “Use contraception or don’t have sex.” Women have this right and when they fail to choose it they are putting themselves at risk in a place they don’t need to be. My whole problem with abortion is that it should never be used as a means of birth control when there are so many ways to prevent pregnancy. Women have a CHOICE about this and it doesn’t, or shouldn’t, ever have to get to the stage of making a decision on an abortion. Rape and health issues are a minor percentage in all abortions being done today and this is where the problem lies. We have the ability to control the consequences of our sex lives in a much more rational way.

So, just where do Sarah Palin’s policies and positions agree with those of Hillary Clinton?

    Anywhere at all?

Beneath all of the talk of change and reform, the actual McCain/Palin positions are almost identical to those of George W. Bush.

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are very close on the important issues. Both stand in stark contrast to Bush/McCain/Palin.

It’s amazing how easily we’re being distracted from what is perfectly obvious.

  • Dr. Kate

yawn. you must be scared, pissed, confused, or just tired. why don’t you go and take nap? Or maybe you should put lipstick on, and you’d feel better? or take your pit bull for a walk?

  • Dr. Kate

    followed up by humble pie.

  • Dr. Kate

no sense of humor? you really need a nap!

    PAT–great cartoon!!!

  • Tuppence 411

Yeah yahoo, I didn’t watch that part… but I can tell you that is an Old Testament scripture.

  • Dr. Kate

wow. you are really stupid. Its people like you that make me SURE I will vote for McCain/Palin.

  • Ferd McBerfle

You wouldn’t know a fact if were tattooed to your forehead. She doesn’t need the blacks if your attitude is any indication of true black sentiment. Blackmail and bribery aren’t going to get you any friends here, UBM. Besides, the Hispanics more than make up for it. You Oblahblah supporters are your own worst enemy. Keep on posting your bilge.

  • Kate

“wow. you are really stupid. Its people like you that make me SURE I will vote for McCain/Palin.”

It’s people like you who convince me this site is now overrun by neocons.

  • http://www.madinthemiddle.blogspot.com churl

Remember with your vote; report with your dollars.

  • IndianDem

Palin is on the extreme right. You haven’t figured that out yet? Just tick off all of her positions, then ask yourself what they add up to.

  • Ferd McBerfle

I think he believes he’s entitled to us walking his dog for him.

  • Tuppence 411

Johnny- did you catch Biden dancing around the issue on “Meet the Press” this morning? He was dancing around as fast as his feet could carry him. Trying to avoid a smack down by the Bishops. (Which would not play well in Peoria or Scranton!) He almost got away scot-free, but his mouth just couldn’t SHUT UP! Typical Joe. He threw a bone to Nancy while trying to dazzle the audience with his knowledge of Thomas Aquinas’ Summa Theologia.

  • Tuppence 411

Think about it. Think about all the money and energy that has been spent fighting the abortion issue since Roe v. Wade became law. Now imagine those resources being funneled into program designed to prevent unwanted preganancy. Imagine the influence on abortion rates if highly effective, long term, but easily reversible and readily accessible birth control was available to young women. Hmmmm…. almost all pregancies would be wanted. Abortion becomes rare. Hmmmm….. abortion is no longer a polarizing political issue. Hmmm…. what would the DNC and GOP fight about? Neither want to solve it, they both want to exploit it. Think about it.

  • Don S

Love the cartoon, Pat. Palin probably does have the Dem nominees shaking in their boots a bit. She clearly impressed a lot of potential voters and political pundits as one tough contender for the White House and a good running mate for McCain. Now that the dust is beginning to settle after the excitement of the conventions, there will hopefully be a lot more attention paid to the actual differences between the positions of the parties and nominees on the crucial issues of importance to the voters. Let’s hope the media will begin to provide some unbiased, objective reporting of their positions on issues, and less of the spin and clear bias that has turned a lot people off from even listening to them. Each party will, of course, provide us with lots of expensive glittery ads promoting their candidates. People will be having fun with their UTube videos. Lots of dirt will be thrown by both sides. People need to look beyond the hype and the sniping and try to sort out the truth from the lies and distortions. Not an easy task but we have to remember we will be stuck with whoever wins for at least 4 years.

  • Ferd McBerfle

It’s people like you who convince me this site is now overrun by neocons.

neocons/obamabots–two sides of the same extremist penny.

    Which are you?

  • Kim

It is more like Hillary will remember the “black folks” the next time she runs and they way they turned their backs on her.

  • Lucille Arneson

When I look at the polls today, I think the hockey mom is wearing the lipstick!

  • JTomorrow

    Great cartoon!

  • http://nobho.blogspot.com/ Johnny at Work

I missed it. I’ll look for it on MSNBC.

  • Amazonia

    UBM,
You are Undercover Black Man posting
    anti-Hillary, anti-Palin comments elsewhere.
AA’s voted 90% for Nobama, even so,
Hillary won the popular vote. There will be nothing to lose in the future for Hillary, she will win on her merits.
Since she is not in the race any longer,
    McCain/Palin ’08 will be.

  • Salida

UBM, she’s just giving you back what you give her in the primaries. Hillary is no wuss. She is not going to spend her time stumping for Barak. Even I know she does not love the dems that much and I’m now an independent. Don’t rely on her getting him elected since you all( includes Dean, Pelozi, Kerry, Crybun, et all) thought he could win this in a wonderboy way, don’t think on the Clintons dong the job. How about Kerry, Dean, Peloci et all go stump? They have a lot at stake since they’re the ones that pushed him. If he does not win, they get sh#%t from the dems. Oh going foward, in the next races, I will support Reps.

  • Ted Kennedy’s Swim Coach

absolutely. That must be why Obama wimped out on the Town Hall Meetings with McCain. They interfered with his prayer schedule bowing down to Allah towards Mecca

  • Ferd McBerfle

Blacks make up 20 percent of Democratic primary voters nationally. They make up 40 percent of Democratic primary voters across the South.

Not all of them vote, dumbass. So much for your alleged political sophistication, Goober.

  • Ted Kennedy’s Swim Coach

    Yeppers, Annie,

Don’t forget Obama said it before, he will stand with the Muslims.
No wonder Hamas loves the guy. He is their homeboy!

  • Salida

Yes, that is what my stand is “pro-choice and pro-consequence”. If you have the choice to knownly have unsafe sex, and you also have the choice the bear the conseqence of the results. That is my stand on this issue and ROE v. Wade overturn does not scare me. Bush had lots of time to overturn, he did not so I’m just p when I see the dems use this as a means of getting people to turn against McCain. For the same of those I love, I’ll gladly support McCain.

  • Ferd McBerfle

Hardly speaking in tongues, which is supposed to be a language no one understands including the speaker.

Rather like your unintelligible posts, huh, Chester?

  • Ferd McBerfle

Nah–he’s the one who gets bowed to, being the Anointed One and all.

  • Ted Kennedy’s Swim Coach

According to Obama, you really aren’t a Christian unless your pastor is GodDamning America of KKA.

  • Ted Kennedy’s Swim Coach

Please do not call Obama a puppy, gota. That is an insult to Muslims who believe that dogs are unclean.

  • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

Bill Clinton wouldn’t have won without ‘em, you must admit. Oh how quickly y’all forget.

But that’s all right. This is a good lesson for black Democrats to learn. Some whites can only respect the black vote when it “knows its place.”

And is the name-calling necessary, Ferd?

  • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

    UBM,
    You are Undercover Black Man…

Wow, nothing gets past you, Amazonia. How’d you figure it out?

Meanwhile, ponder this: If McCain/Pailin wins in November… it’s probably an even bet that McCain will only serve one term. Which means Pailin will likely run for prez in 2012. How successful do you think Hillary can be running against a female sitting vice president?

After all, Hillary’s “glass ceiling” argument will be useless by then, no?

  • Ferd McBerfle

You called my thinking unsophisticated, Gomer. I’m just pointing out that you are the one lacking sophistication. Clinton was the 90s. Try your luck at pissing off whites with your racist diatribes and racist candidate in the 00s with so many Latinos ready to vote and who now comprise the largest minority in the US. Methinks you need to reassess your options and stop the racial bullshit while you’re ahead.

  • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

How about the “Multitaska from Alaska”?

Feel free to use that one as if you’d thought of it. I’m generous like that.

  • Ferd McBerfle

The only thing that matters now is that the unfit and unqualified Oblahblah lose in November.

My allegiance is to country and not party or race or sex or religious affiliation.

You might try your hand at something other than the politics of division. But I doubt that will happen because your agenda is not America’s but your own.

  • Ferd McBerfle

That has been refuted. Try again, bot, this time with feeling.

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

Link to one of her whimpers, please.

  • Ferd McBerfle

Posts one second apart, Strawberry. The bots are in the cross-hairs.

  • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

You called my thinking unsophisticated, Gomer.

But that’s not name-calling, Ferd. I can land a sharp rhetorical blow without resorting to such adolescent tactics. Please try it.

  • Steven Mather

    FmcB,

Is it not funny that their reaction to their fall in the polls is to try more of the same on us? I suppose it is good that they are wasting their efforts here, rather than doing good for O elsewhere.

    SM

    ;)

  • McKatmoon

It is their only method, and all they have ever done in this election process. Childish, politically immature, that’s it.

  • Steven Mather

Do you think it is because they are mimicking O’Reilly and Olbermann-types?

  • Ferd McBerfle

Steven: It certainly is. They are insane, thinking this nth round of attempts to convince us would have swayed us. They have only resulted in the same spankings for them. And you’re exactly right, better they come after 100-watters on this blog who can fend for themselves than go to another where they might get lucky.

  • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com UBM

Link to one of her whimpers, please.

    Wah-laa!

Of course, Strawb, it’s a whimper-by-proxy. Because the McCain campaign is keeping Gov. Palin well hidden from the press.

  • Steven Mather

Perhaps they do not realize that the human wave tactic only works if your opponent does not have enough bullets.

  • Ferd McBerfle

    LMAO

  • joe

The comment below is yet another smear. She left that church several years ago because she thought that it had become too extreme. It is very possible to be in a church that is moderate, which somehow evolves before you eyes into something you are not comfortable with. When that happens, one must make the choice whether this community is the right one for you.

She left her church over principle — Barky did not.

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-palin-religion_06sep06,0,3371419.story

She DOES not belong to any particular denomination, prefering to refer to herself as a “generic Christian.”

Don’t believe what you read people and take it all with a grain of salt. The truth will come out slowly and you will see that this woman is about as clean as any national politician can be. That is why they are scared of her — no one can blackmail, threaten, or intimidate her. We need people like this in the White House!! As a non-practicing Catholic, and a “generic Christian”, I ask everyone to pray for her and her family, that they may overcome this sheer hatred, and defeat it by winning in November.

BTW, she is scheduled for an interview with Charlie Gibson next week.

  • McKatmoon

I think the Olbermann-O’Reilly types encourage the behavior; but I truly believe the origination of this is not having a self understanding of the election process beyond the experience of American Idol combined with election laziness and lack of curiosity regarding civics. So many, let someone else do their thinking for them, as well as form their opinions for them. Thus, no responsibility, no formulation of critical thought,or understanding of cause and effect.

  • McKatmoon

Let’s apply the o campaign, smash and trash troll logic. Imagine someone going to an employer and repeating what has been attempted against Gov Palin. You would lose your f-ing job for pulling such crap. We don’t experience this type of carnivore in our everyday work capacity, instead job performance is what an employee is judged and evaluated on. This mouth garbage-like pseudo-evaluation of Gov Palin, isn’t even thug politics, it is pure Hollywood, grandiose entitlement behavior. It is not a strategy it is a temper tantrum.

  • Steven Mather

    Good analysis.

I admire their effort, but their practise is inappropriately informed. If their efforts were informed by civic virtues, imagine the possibilities.

It’s a concern of mine that the worst aspect of the Obama con is that once the con is revealed they will turn away from political participation.

    Thanks for the response.

  • McKatmoon

Honestly, flipping on the bridge? That’s not a big deal compared to flipping on FISA.

  • McKatmoon

We know that Hillary would not have gone the same way as Gov Palin, but Senator Clinton is no longer running, at this point. I don’t support the democratic party, period. I will support Senator Clinton should she run again where I can vote for her, otherwise, I have no ties and no loyalty to anything from the Democratic party anymore. As Senator Clinton said as well, it is my vote. I no longer have a party, and finally, I truly understand my allegiance is to myself first.
SO with all the love and respect I have for Senator Clinton, she will do what she has to, and so will I, and somehow I know in my heart she wouldn’t want anyone to vote against their own will, no matter where that vote goes.
Please vote how you will, and you have my support, but it is unecessary to make comparisons that aren’t even part of what is going on. Senator Clinton was running for president, and Gov Palin was selected for Vice president.

  • McKatmoon

This site has many republicans, and you know this, so please don’t go down that road, we can be supportive of both here, as a matter of fact their wasn’t this worry about republican viewpoints, until Gov Palin was selected, then we seemed to have an up-tick in complaints about anything Republican. All opinions from all parties(save BS troll comments especially spamming, and sexist racist crap).

As far as a motto, you might want to look at the O campaign for the most recent hammering of Senator Clinton.

  • Really America?

Seriously? You think that’s a good drawing?

Biden looks okay, but who is that supposed to be standing next to him? The Fresh Prince circa 1993?

The only story this picture tells is that the artist sucks.

  • McKatmoon

Knock this crap off-Divise(smells like obama)There isn’t anyone slamming Hillary, so just stop trying to stir it up, you guys have been at this for 4 days, each time you come to the site; We don’t need to worry about Hillary supporters here the site is full of them. SO now you tell me, what issues you supported for Senator Clinton, How long have you liked her style of politics? What do you think about her Health Care Plan? Which part is your favorite?

  • Ferd McBerfle

    The Fresh Prince circa 1993?

No, the Big Dunce, ca. 2008. Looks like him to me.

  • Kate

“Ahh, such loyalty to Senator Clinton. Thirty days ago, Palin called Clinton a “whiner” and now all of Clinton’s fans are lining up behind Palin. Such thoughtful voters, these women are.”

Don’t believe it — it’s a con, a sham, from the right. Their motto is lie and deceive.

Because that would make about as much sense as a gun totting, right wing bible literal, anti-feminist, book banning, creationist becoming the next Vice President and possibly President. (I.E. Positions don’t matter — the fact that Palin’s positions are 180 degrees opposite from Hillary’s don’t matter.)

See, us women are supposed to vote with emotion, not reason.

Duh. She’s got a vagina, vote for her. Duh.

  • McKatmoon

Why all the Hillary talk. You came here day in and out and bashed her before. We all know you got your orders to go forth and try to divide and conquer and of course use Senator Clinton again, but the game is old, and you guys have been doing it since May. You go to sites and pretend to be pro-Clinton, then skulk back to your masters cave and insult and trash and say this is a way she can work off her debt, by bashing Gov Palin. Pimps, that’s what you are.

  • http://home.comcast.net/~vincep312 Vince P

Yeah, we have nothing better to do than obsess over you, Lochos.

  • Ferd McBerfle

This lie was refuted days ago.

Hello, bot central?. Yes, you need to send us another obamatron v4.3 with an IQ measured in greater than single digits. The one you sent named Kate is defective.

    Thanks

  • McKatmoon

See, I don’t care if Gov Palin’s and Senator Clinton’s policies agree. I only want to vote against Obama, and will do so. That is it, no fluff, no muss, and am good with the policies that come with my choice. I can live with that vote; better than voting for O and not knowing how the change campaign will redefine how I am suppose to live.

  • McKatmoon

Which base would that be? Call it a base all you want, it is racism pure and simple and you know it, and so does the world.

  • McKatmoon

Was Obama speaking in tongues today when he had the slip about his religion…Muslim? Christian, which day of the week is it.

If it’s Sunday…I must be now ait, in and interview, uhm I’m Christian

  • McKatmoon

Actually, the worse reputation is being suffered by O supporters; you aren’t liked, much, by most.

  • McKatmoon

Sexist, homophobic, hmm only missing the racist, but I think the Republican bashing qualifies you for the TP award. You get a roll of cyber roll TP to clean up the political diarrhea you go around dumping carelessly on blogs.

  • McKatmoon

You have no mind of your own then, by your own omission, you are being forced? Wow- O O T

  • Chicago Joe

Pat, Ignore the trolls. I love your drawings.

  • Chicago Joe

No, when obiewnanabe loses in November, we can point to the Maverick moment. After all, he was riding high, and the bots were talking landslide until Johnny Mac rolled the dice and pulled in a woman. Hillary will have nothing to do with his defeat (other than not being on his ticket, which is his own damn fault.)

  • TeakwoodKite

Those are not Zircon’s on the collar.

There’s a “right stuff” theme with Gov. Palin. McCain? Been there done that.

BO, good luck with that. Sorry Biden.

  • TeakwoodKite

oops, Pat, don’t ya just love tails? :)

  • matchles

Yeah no shit. However, I don’t think it is wise to apply the same logic that lead to the Crusades to modern day Christian worship.

  • matchles

When did Chester become a derogatory term? Look, if you find my posts unintelligible I’m more than willing to restrain a bit. However, I’m not going to reduce my posts to monosyllabic text just so you can understand.

I can give it a shot though.

    You… no… have… good… to… say… leave… now.

In hindsight, that wasn’t very difficult. While it may suffer grammatically, I guess next time Ferd just give me a heads up and I’ll dumb it down for you.

  • Lanlan

I like the cartoon a lot.
