Obama and Biden in a Bind

Along with the news that McCain and Palin scored a monster bump out of the convention, the Obama supporters have stepped up the avalanche of shit they are furiously trying to pile on Sarah Palin. Big problem, however. Not for Palin, but for the Obamabots. The more manure they spread over Palin the faster and stronger she grows. My story Sunday highlighting the idiotic analysis of one Deepak Chopra, who attacks Palin and her supporters on Huffington Post as being nothing more than intolerant, ignorant bigots, is apparently not an isolated phenomena. Did you catch Erica Jong last week at the Huffington Post:

Not that I think Sarah Palin will make it to VP. But given the repugnicans’ habit of caging votes, it’s certainly one horrid possibility.

White trash America certainly has allure for voters. Some people think rednecks are more American than Harvard educated intellectuals of mixed race. God help us in the next election. The NRA and the oil industry sure won’t.

Yep, that’s how you win the hearts and minds of middle America. Remind them they are nothing but trailer trash and that you are morally and intellectually superior. That’s a winning formula if I ever saw one.

But wait, there’s more. Murphy Brown anyone?

Go here to enjoy the musings of Hollywood celebrities making fun of Palin and criticizing her lifestyle and choices. Listening to the likes of Omarosa, Candace Bergen, Annette Benning and other starlets pitch a bitch fit over Palin is the ultimate illustration of people with a completely undeveloped sense of irony. Hollywood pushes and celebrates a movie like Juno, which tells the story of a pregnant teenage girl with supportive parents, and these goddamn divas want to moralize and condemn Sara Palin? No wonder Obama and Biden are screwed–their supporters demonstrate a humorless intolerance that previously was only associated with the likes of Jerry Falwell. And like Falwell, who is dead and buried, the Obama elites are emitting an aroma that smells a lot like rotting brains.

Unfortunately for Obama and Biden, the key issues are not going their way and Obama is already accelerating his mad dash for the center. On Iraq, advantage McCain and Palin. Did you hear Barky on Bill O’Reilly the other night admit that the surge has worked beyond anyone’s expectation? So, if it is working why are you now hell bent on getting out. Nice job Barack. Can you get another foot in your mouth.

How about tackling the economy? McCain wants the tax cuts to stay in place. Barack was arguing on raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans. Note I write “WAS.” Seems that over the weekend Obama concedes that new taxes might have to be postponed in order to get out of the recession. Got that kids? Barky the aspiring floppity spinner is drawing nearer to John McCain’s position.

Change and reform anyone? McCain can point to McCain/Feingold, a major piece of legislation praised by Democrats and despised by Republicans. McCain can point to lobbyist reform and Barack Obama’s failure to follow thru on his promise to John McCain. Sarah Palin? She took on the Republican elite in her state and took down the Oil Companies to boot. So what change and reform can Barack and Biden point to? The only thing Barack has changed appears to be his mind on a whole host of policy priorities.

Did I mention drilling for oil and nuclear power? More Americans are with McCain and Palin on this one as well.

Got my point? On most major issues the advantage is now with McCain/Palin, not Obama/Biden. I think Obama and Biden have a clear advantage on the issue of health care but it is not clear that most Americans see this as THE deciding issue.

Obama and Biden’s only path for success lies in fighting McCain and Palin on the issues. Problem is the issues are now moving away from the Democrats.

One thing, though, is certain. Continued personal attacks on Sarah Palin that do not clearly reflect on her honesty and competence in making decisions will only win her and McCain more support. Hell, Andrew Sullivan is speculating that Sarah Palin may have had an affair.

Let’s assume the worst. Let’s assume she did. Well, if she did, so what? If Sarah and her husband have dealt with the matter and forgiven each other than most Americans will do what they did in the case of Bill and Hillary Clinton–it is no ones damn business and does not need to be in the public arena. That some Democrats want to try to go down this road bespeaks that they have become the very thing they railed against when these kind of attacks were levied on Bill and Hillary. And you remember how those attacks “hurt” Bill’s popularity, even after he was caught lying under oath? Oh, that’s right, impeachment failed and he left office with more than a 60% favorability rating.

I think the radical left is beyond reason and hope. They will continue to launch wild, unsubstantiated attacks on Palin and in the process build more support for her. For example, I work regularly with military folks, retired and active duty, who were luke warm at best three weeks ago on John McCain. They are now in full battle mode. They are energized and enthusiastic about McCain. Why? Two words–Sarah Palin.

Obama and Biden must find a way to attack McCain and Palin on the issues, otherwise they are dead. If they fall for the trap of going after Palin personally they may make George McGovern look like a strong candidate.

    Great post.

Here’s what Obama said on tax cuts (via AP):

“Obama says he would delay rescinding President Bush’s tax cuts on wealthy Americans if he becomes the next president and the economy is in a recession, suggesting such an increase would further hurt the economy.

Nevertheless, Obama has no plans to extend the Bush tax cuts beyond their expiration date, as Republican John McCain advocates.”

So, he would delay rescinding, but has no plans to extend them. Just voting… kinda ‘present’.

The ugliness spewing forth toward Sarah Palin from Left Blogistan, Beverly Hills, and MSM Central, toward Sarah Palin is simply astounding (note: it has the aroma of pure fear mixed with misogyny and the usual self-defeating elitism). But it’s no more astounding than the bilge dumped on Hillary. Gosh, what do these two candidates have in common? Hmmmm. I’ve almost got it…thinking, thinking. Could it be… Okay, here goes: two women not blessed by or beholden to the East Coast poobahs (and therefore condemned as trash).

McCain has gotta be feeling like the shrewdest candidate on the block, as his numbers go up and up, and Barky goes down for the count. Ah, what sweet revenge for us deadenders. Heh.

    Thank You Larry!
I JUST wrote the same thing on my blog.

“I am amazed at how dumb the Obama Left is being about Palin. It is as if they think the entire country lives in the West Village”

    said I.

Really, just from a purely political stand point insulting Palin is dumb. IF Obama can’t get the “change” meme back while not insulting everyone in the south, midwest, and west – he is cooked.

    Palin is Obama’s worst nightmare.

  • K Bentley

John McCain has always had a good record. His solutions to important issues as health care, housing, jobs, energy have always be a strong purpose in his campaign. It’s just that no one heard them, until now.

Sarah Palin has literally put a compete hault to this campaign. Now everyone is listening and McCain’s message is sounding loud and clear. She has attacked Obama, as Hillary Clinton could not. People are finally seeing what is hope and change are NOT about. They are as phony as himself.

McCain picked a winner. A reformer like himself and a maverick. Now, that’s good judgment.

Of course, in all the bashing of Palin, no one has brought up Biden’s son losing to the indictment brought against him. Hummmmm those double standards are alive and well.

Here’s a piece from Michael Moore, asking people to lay off Palin:

But before everyone gets all smug and self-righteous about the Palin selection, remember where you live. You live in a nation of gun owners and hunters. You live in a country where one out of three girls get pregnant before they are 20. You live in a nation of C students. Knocking Bush for being a C student only endeared him to the nation of C students. Knock Palin for having kids, for having a kid who’s having a baby, for anything that is part of her normalness — a normalness that looks very familiar to so many millions of Americans — well, you do this at your own peril.

In other words: don’t call Palin a stupid redneck with bad parenting skills, because then all the stupid redneck bad parent voters will vote for her… nice!

The *elites* just don’t get it and never will.

Many people saw what happened to HRC in the primaries and now see the same thing being done to Palin. The thing is, the Republicans are going to laugh their asses off at these attempts to smear her.

This is gonna backfire on the DNC/Obama crowd and it’s probably killing Obama that he’s not the new kid on the block anymore. Too bad. :-(

  • Obama’s gums look sick

Deepak Chopra refuses to see the shadow the Dems project on Palin: their fear of castration and unresloved mommy complexes.

This is the party of the public teat, the faux licentiousness of Hollywood make-believe, and the internet loners who eat candy bars in front of their screens instead of getting the girl that looks like Sarah Palin.

Witness over and over the negative projection the Dems have put on strong women. First Clinton was savaged by her own party and now Palin is equally savaged by this same party that is incapable of self-reflection and thereby sowing the seeds of its own destruction by failure to own its own shadow.

What a creep Deepak turned out to be.

  • Tony Stark

Even if Obama immediately stopped attacking Palin, his supporters will not. I think he has reached a point where he can no longer control events nor his supporters who are going to destroy any hope he has of winning the electorate to his side. He is desperately trying to shore up what little support he has in PA while McCain and Palin go on the offensive in Wisconsin, Colorado and Michigan. When the GOP starts releasing the dirt they have on him, they will further put him on the defensive and keep him from talking about issues.

  • Kat5

    Bitters?

  • Fredster

    Hee-hee! :-)

  • Obama’s gums look sick

By any measure I am an “elite”: affluent, educated, global and love lattes. Yet I hate Obama to my core. And I am not racist.

But I am a woman and I fear for my life and my well-being with this man and this Democratic party along with the leftie media.

I’ll take my chances with McCain-Palin because I want to feel safe, not threatened like I feel with the Dem Party this year.

  • sayitisntso

And, pray tell, how many nice children does Michael MOORE have?

  • Obama’s gums look sick

It was clear the Obama supporters early on were a looming and vicious threat and the DNC caved in to them immediately when they saw their negative forces gathering against Clinton and the whole race became a non-contest.

It was the ugliest misogyny smear that now spills over to Palin. It needs to be recognized for what it is and then its cause must also be determined.

Obama forces are the true dark forces, the projected shadow Deepak Chopra talks about in this campaign. They are the forces of slashing hatred and unspoken fears. Deepak himself is incapable of acknowledging his own shadow fears triggered by Clinton and Palin.

The book “GuyLand” may start to explain the hidden forces represented by the Obama supporters that are destructive, anti-American and will erupt when they don’t get their way. These are the Lost Boys Generation and they will have to be embraced because they are part of us. They just should not be allowed near the helms of power, that is all.

The Palin affair rumor was based on a motion to seal the divorce records of her husband’s former business partner.

The bots assumed he made this request because Sarah is named in his divorce.

Nope. Smoking gun debunked that story.

Seems the man wanted to seal his divorce papers because reporters looked them up to find the address and phone number of his vacation home and tracked him down there.

However, the judge denied the motion and the divorce papers are public. There was no affair.

The only mention of the Palin’s was listing property co-owned with this former business partner.

ABC News gets first Palin interview

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) – ABC News’ Charles Gibson has snagged the first interview with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin since she was named the GOP’s vice presidential pick on August 29.

Palin has been one of the most sought-after interview subjects, but presidential nominee John McCain’s campaign has kept Palin away from the media amid speculation in some quarters about her relative inexperience.

Details of the interview have not been announced, but it’s likely to take place within the next week and appear on all of ABC News’ platforms, including “World News With Charles Gibson” and possibly a primetime hour.

There were no preconditions to the interview.

Gibson and executive producer Jon Banner locked down the interview Friday, when Gibson was in Los Angeles for the “Stand Up to Cancer” benefit telethon.

Kate, Democracy disappeared during the primary with the manipulation of caucuses and the DNC strong arming of super delegates. Just one of the many reasons I won’t vote for Obama.

And I’m not a Palin or McCain fan. The only reason I would vote for them (and I haven’t made up my mind yet), is to force the Democratic Party to take a look at itself and get rid of the Brazile, Pelosi, and Dean types who put us in this mess.

Four years of McCain can’t screw up the country anymore than it is, but electing Obama will insure the Democrats continue to be as corrupt as the Republicans. I just might be willing to take that chance for the sake of reform in the long-term (not to mention keeping out of office a man with a rotten past and no experience).

Hillary would be my choice for 2012, but if she doesn’t run (and I haven’t heard her say she won’t), there will be better choices, I’m sure, than Obama!

McCain choosing Palin as VP was a stroke of genius straight out of Machievelli. They identified a weakness in Obama (pathological hatred of women) that mirrored a dominant sentiment in the democratic party and rightly surmised that a significant minority in the party had been tricked into lending support for something they are vigorously opposed to. Rather than speak out about this (or rather, in addition to speaking out about this), they set the democrats up. Unable to help themselves, the democrats are now showing everyone in the world (including that significant minority, whose support they absolutely cannot afford to lose) just how much they HATE women.

There is a similar issue with regard to racial hatred. Obama’s sexism took down his campaign (with a 10 point gap in the polls, Obama is FINISHED). But the RACISM in the DNC will take down the party.

It’s the old republican strategy. Counter liberal lies with truth. The libtards love to chant over and over again how racist, sexist and anti-gay republicans are. But it’s a vile lie. The true racists, haters of women, anti-semites and gay bashers are in the democratic party. The republicans simply shine the light of day on this and like vampires, the DNC withers to dust.

That’s hysterical! BHO has flip flopped so many times that the only thing I knew he was for with certainty was raising taxes on the wealthy and pulling the troops out of Iraq on the 16-month time table. Now the first is in question, and the only issue is Iraq – which has become a non-issue thanks to the surge working and people talking about bringing more troops home because the war’s over. This is really nuts.

BTW the issues that Democrats can win on, and the ones that made me a Democrat, are education and health care. But I knew way back when that Obama didn’t really care about that stuff, only Hilary did. Obama probably thinks they’re “female” issues.

The issues that the Democrats lose on are the economy and foreign policy. Bill Clinton was the only Democrat who won on the economy, and that was because he was running against a blue blood Republican incumbent. Yet, Obama, supposedly so intelligent, is going around talking about those two issues.

The ABSOLUTE best action McCain & Palin could do with this “stuff” is to actually READ parts of it to the masses while campaigning across the blue collar states that are being fought over. Do you think this xhit would fly there?

The best weapon – HUMOR…make FUN of all the liberal SMEARS. Doing that will TOTALLY backfire on them and increase McCain/Palin support one hundred fold. As we witnessed during her speech – Palin could score some more knock out punches.

Can you imagine Palin saying something like: “Oh my goodness, did any of you happen to read this interesting article at the Huffington Post recently? Ohhhhhhhhh – you don’t read the Huffington Post? Ohhhhhhhh welllllll, let me tell ya then. It seems that a lady there by the name of Erica Jong said…wellllllll, I won’t read ya the whole thing don’t cha know, but here is the jist of it:

“Not that I think Sarah Palin will make it to VP. But given the repugnicans’(oh yeah, she does make a point of saying RE-PUG-NICANS) habit of caging votes, it’s certainly one horrid possibility.

White trash America certainly has allure for voters. Some people think rednecks are more American than Harvard educated intellectuals of mixed race. God help us in the next election. The NRA and the oil industry sure won’t.”

Now what do ya make of that? I never KNEW there was a “White Trash America”! Did YOU know there was a White Trash America? I was always raised with the belief, and I still DO believe it, that we were all, “One Nation, Under God, Indivisable with liberty and justice for ALL.”

Do you think Erica Jong was calling ME and my family White Trash America or was she calling YOU White Trash America for liking me? I can’t figure it out – maybe YOU guys can help me figure it out on November 4th.

BREAKING NEWS: I heard from a reliable source very closed to Hussein Obama/Barry that Barry’s compaign is going to use similar voter frauds and tricks as they did during the primary elecation against Hillary Clinton. I was advised to be very alerted to this by taking a camara or a photo mobile phone with me when I go to the poll station in November. If you see anyting suspecious or fraudulent, photograph it and report to Republican Lawers on the following websites:

It’s always been my understanding that much of what turned the tide toward Nixon/Agnew in 1968 were “middle Americans” appalled by seeing the young kids demonstrating and the craziness that occurred at the DNC in Chicago.

It wasn’t their America they were seeing on the TV.

This year, Obama’s supporters in the guise of anti-everything protesters on the internet and the MSM on the TV and in print have again taken to smearing “middle Americans” as personified by Sarah Palin.

It isn’t their America they are seeing on the TV or reading about on the internet.

Republicans know nothing of truth. They get their ideas from right-wing think tanks, which are paid to create phony stats to make the right look good. They get their news from bogus news stations that make stuff up constantly. They listen to radio shows hosted by convicted felons and drug-taking pedophiles.

They spend millions of dollars to smear Democrats every year. Their policies always fail. But Republicans simply blame the Democrats for their own screw-ups and go on trucking. ;-)

Yet another analyst was on CNN this morning explaining that Senator McCain’s bounce is from religious conservatives returning home, it has nothing to do with Clinton Democrats jumping ship. So…..where have the religious conservatives been? The undecided voters haven’t changed, the percentage is approximately the same as it was two weeks ago.

I can’t imagine the religious conservatives were claiming to vote for Senator Obama two weeks ago. Nor can I imagine that so many of them were undecided they are the sole reason for McCain climbing and Obama falling. If we’re to believe this analyst, a flood of undecided religious conservatives have decided to vote for Senator McCain. So who is now taking their place in the undecided?

When is the media going to get it, Pumas exist. We are Democrats and independents who vote for Democrats but in this election, we’re voting McCain over Obama. Why are they so afraid to admit we exist?

  • Obama is a bum

Obama and Biden must find a way to attack McCain and Palin on the issues, otherwise they are dead.

An African-American caller to Washington Journal this morning calls in to complain that women are abandoning Obama and voting for McCain-Palin just because there is a woman on the ticket.

The caller “points out” that “blacks didn’t vote for Jesse Jackson, because he didn’t have the experience. We didn’t vote for Al Sharpton, because he didn’t have the experience. Now we finally have a black candidate with experience, so we are voting for him, but all the women, they aren’t voting for him, because he’s black.”

I wish I was there so I could ask this idiot why he left out a qualified African-American who ran in 2004- her name was Carol Mosely-Braun, and she had more qualifications for the Presidency than Obama does now.

Oh, but she was female. I guess that explains why this moron overlooked her.

The Obamas attended a church for 20 years where hate for America was freely expressed. Trinity Church is NOT mainstream in the AA community!
Michelle said “this is the first time I’ve been proud of my country.”
Behind closed doors, Obama told his billionaire donors white Dems weren’t voting for him because they’re racists – clinging to their guns and religion.

All of these are coming back to bite the Dems (as Hillary supporters said they would). Any other election year, these would have been big red flags to the Establishment, especially after Hillary won many of the last primaries.
But Nooooooooo – they stayed with their pre-planned script and SDs for Obama. When Hillary won primaries by large margins – the SDs would roll out for Obama.

McCain’s stand on pork should resonate with EVERY American. This economy could save billions every year if every politician behaved like McCain does, and refuse earmarks. Think about it; taxpayers pay for this pork out of their taxes. This is what McCain means when he says “CHANGE IS COMING.”

    Posted on August 27, 2008

The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) today released its 2007 Congressional Ratings. Since 1991, CCAGW has examined roll-call votes to separate the taxpayer advocates in Congress from those who favor wasteful programs and pork-barrel spending.

    CCAGW’s 2007 Congressional Ratings

    • Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-Ill.) 2007 rating was 10 percent, making his lifetime score 18 percent. The 2008 Congressional Pig Book contained 53 earmarks worth $97.4 million for Sen. Obama, including $1,648,850 for the Shedd Aquarium.

    • Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) received the worst possible rating in 2007 with 0 percent, while his lifetime rating is 22 percent. According to the Pig Book, Sen. Biden had 70 earmarks for a total of $119.7 million in fiscal year 2008, including $246,100 for the Grand Opera House in Wilmington.

    • Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) received a score of 100* percent and has a lifetime rating of 88, has never requested nor received a single earmark, and has pledged to veto any spending bill that contains any earmarks.

    The Mocking Moron:

In an electric interview, Obama suggested again and again that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, McCain’s running mate, is unprepared for the job. At one point, he mocked her camp’s suggestion that Alaska’s proximity to Russia gives her foreign-policy swat:

“Well, look. You know, I actually knew that Russia was next to Alaska, as well. I saw it on a map.”

“It’s not a qualification?” Stephanopoulos press.

“I don’t think it is,” Obama replied.

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13217.html

    The Commander in Chief:

Gov. Sarah Palin is Commander of the Alaska National Guard.

Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Misssile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.

As governor of Alaska, Gov. Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Sen. Biden’s, and certainly far exceeds Sen. Obama’s.

She’s also the Commander in Chief [CinC] of the Alaska State Defense Force [ASDF], a federally recognized militia incorporated into the Dept. of Homeland Security’s counterterrorism plans.

Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country’s defense. Given Alaska’s proximity to Russia.

What I planned to post was after the awesome pledge of John McCain over the weekend to welcome the best and brightest Americans to help fix America’s problems I was thinking of Hillary. I would love to see her honored by asking her to lead us on Health and Education Reform. I believe with her and Bill’s credentials and proven bipartisan pasts, they would both be tapped by McCain in his upcoming Administration.

I don’t know about you all, but I am excited at the prospect of real Reform and Change in the status quo.

BTW, Isn’t Erica Jong that Novelist who wrote Fear of Flying? Talk about your @White Trash American, does she believe the crap she writes has ever inspired or led anyone? If she is the example of intellectually gifted Americans, then what a waste of an education. The cultural far left lauds people like Britney Spears’s pregnant-teen sister and the movie “Juno”, yet gasps with horror when the real event occurs? For thousands of years, women have been getting pregnant out of wedlock and marrying because of it (which a lot of times involved just setting up a household with the guy). The Hollywood crowd has been pushing the notion for a few decades now that it’s okay to become impregnated and then intentionally go it alone. The brunt of their propaganda has apparently fallen on poor ghetto girls. Maybe part of the left’s fury with Bristol Palin is her plan to wed. Hopefully, this nation is finally fed up with the left wing’s idea of morality and will fully support a Prez who will nominate Justices of a like mind. No doubt McCain/Palin will win, because Bobo and Jojo can’t muster enough votes in more than a handful of states to avoid it, but we need to send a strong message to the Democratic Party! Don’t ever do this again!! A huge loss in the popular vote for The Clowns should do it!

  • http://lnab.newsvine.com/ Linda

    Dear Deepak,
I quite admire you and you have done much to help me move towards being a more whole and happy human being.

But what you have written about this political play unfolding this year has been done without the facts.

I invite you to see the sort of individual you think will bring “change” of a good kind to America. He is a lie. So those of us who would so like to believe that he would bring actual change must suspend belief in order to vote for him. After I learned about the rampant caucus fraud perpetrated by his campaign (they actually trained their activists in how to do it), I could not. The DNC has to date not investigated in one of the thousands of complaints at the democratic caucuses.
    http://www.lynettelong.com/caucusfraud/

Nor IMHO should any person of integrity support a thug who is willing to rob us of our votes. I don’t care what their political flavor is.

Now I know the MSM refuses to tell you the truth about Obama the candidate but believe me, it is a long history of “self-service” for this man. He is no agent of change, he is a snake oil salesman. He’s selling a dream wrapped in hubris. At least John McCain is a man of real intent, which we might not always agree with but which I can respect because he really does believe he trying to do the right thing. Obama only does what is expedient to this political career and does not really care (as exhibited by his history) whether he actually renders real service to the people.

I am a Democrat who will not support him or the party structure that chose to anoint him, via caucus fraud, RBC manipulations, and bribery of super delegates and elected officials via maximum PAC contributions.

I am an honorable person and I will not sanction thievery. If Obama somehow manages to win this election, believe me, the Democrats are going to become as hateful as the neo-cons. You should just look at the hatefulness of Obama’s followers. It is truly disturbing.

So if you are willing to sully yourself long enough to find out some facts, you just might step back and reconsider your support of this candidate, who is a lie, and for whom the truth is readily accessible if you have the courage to face it.

My principals hold that I always seek to stand in the truth and awareness of reality. If God is speaking to you about Obama, then so be it. God tells me he is as dangerous as the neo-cons.

I hope you will examine a little truth about Obama. I know a universal truth you seem to have forgotten, edible fruit does not fall from a poisoned tree. And Obama is most certainly that.

    Sincerely,

  • 935 Lies

What are they planning on? A “heart attack,” or a “Wellstoneing?”

  • BernieO

Postponing the cuts is silly. If Obama would put the extra revenue into things like improving our infrastructure any harm would be more than offset. Most of this money will be spent here, creating jobs and more tax revenue. There is a lag time because it takes awhile to get new projects planned (although ongoing projects could quickly be speeded up), so he could also do things like immediately increase food stamps, extend unemployment benefits, maybe institute a holiday on the SS payroll tax for lower income people. All of that can be done quickly and will be spent right away, not saved, which will help jumpstart our economy.

Bush refused to do these kinds of things and insisted on the rebate because he would not consider anything that was not a tax cut for most people. The rebate has not been very effective not only because it took too much time, but also because a lot of people used the money to pay down debt when what is needed in the short term is more spending, not saving.

I have seen this talking point circulating on comment threads, and it is ludicrous and blasphemous. Jesus Christ was not a cult leader. He did not “organize communities.” He was a prophet to some and the Son of God and Our Lord and Savior to others. Donna Brazile is terrifically dumb.

    Opera Windbag is a RACIST….

She hates white people, and those who could UPSET her fellow whitey HATER….OBOMBA…

She went to the God Damn America church for 11yrs…In those eleven years, what could she have heard that would make her leave? She left because she didnt want the RACIST, Marxist teachings to HURT her show and success…She and OBOMBA were attending at the same time….OBOMBA stayed for 13 more years, that is a FACT….And only when OBOMBA believed that rev wrights rants would hurt his prez bid, did he leave…

These two ACTS, show a PATTERN…These UPPITY people AGREE with Rev Wright, but ONLY when his rants could harm their ambitions, did they leave…

God Damn America church hates whitey….FACT
    Oprah Blowhard attended for 11yrs…
    OBOMBA attended for 20yrs…

If Oprah heard something that ‘supposedly’ caused her to leave, how could OBOMBA not have heard the same messages? OBOMBA, didnt need to leave YET, because he was a nothing back in 1995…

Surely OBOMBA knew that Oprah Windbag left the church, and heard why she left, so for him NOT to have left, shows he AGREED with Rev Wright…

Oprah hates whitey, Michele OBOMBA hates whitey, Obomba hates whitey, Rev Wright HATES whitey…PATTERNS, my friends….

That is why Oprah Windbag will not have Sarah Palin on her show…Oprah hates whitey…It is a ‘pattern’ that her and OBOMBA ‘learned’ at the God Damn America church…

In fact as I recall he was against hierarchies and protocols and all the other things that come from organizing. Pilate was a governor who didn’t want to be part of the Pharisee’s plot against Jesus. Everybody seems to forget that Obama did not win the primary. The SDs gave it to Obama. Hillary won the popular vote and because Obama gamed the caucuses and the SDs put him up as the nominee, we are now having to vote for McCain.

I say we all email CNN and correct them! Yes, Anderson, it is in fact the PUMA vote that is being reflected in the new polls. The shit that went on in Denver with the Clinton Delegates being threatened and having their votes changed for them was the last straw. The Obama freaks might have been able to manipulate the final tallies to look like their candidate was chosen by all of the Democrats, but we Clinton supporters know it isn’t true. We are getting sweet revenge now and taking our voting bloc over to a well run, inclusive campaign that welcomes everyone to the table. CNN needs to stop lying to the American public, and a mountain of email setting them straight may be what is needed…or a mountain of votes for McCain in November (by registered Democrats).

If we were all truly racist we would go out and vote for Barack Obama, because electing that unqualified wannabe for POTUS would then insure that not another Black male or female would ever be elected in this country again. I believe Black’s deserve much better than that…they deserve a political future with a qualified candidate. Michael Steele has been hinting at a run for Governor of Maryland, and I believe he would win, and then if the Repubs really wanted to get tricky on the Dems, McCain would do one term and Palin would ask Steele to run with her in 2012! First White Woman President/Black Man Vice President, and both Conservative Republicans, it’s a Karl Rove wet dream!! (And a quite probable scenario!)

“She took on the Republican elite in her state and took down the Oil Companies to boot. ”

Everyone keeps telling me Governor Palin took down the oil companies. No one is telling me how.

From my research, she’s raised oil production taxes on state lands from 22.5% to 25% of the net profits. During low price periods there is a 10% gross revenue tax on legacy fields that don’t require lots of input of continuing capital. When prices are high, there’s a progressive surcharge tax for each additional dollar per barrel when the profit per barrel exceeds $30. If oil is at $100 per barrel, the tax jumps to 35%.

    http://www.legis.state.ak.us/basis/get_bill_text.asp?hsid=HB2001G&session=25

When the price is high, what incentive is there for the oil companies to invest and drill in Alaska? Especially if we’re opening up offshore exploration and drilling? A smart company would put their efforts into exploration and drilling somewhere other than Alaska when prices are high.

An editorial criticizing Governor Palin’s taxes on the oil companies:

    http://housemajority.org/item.php?id=item20071111-345

In July, BP announced it’s new development called Liberty will be on federal land, not Alaskan state land. On federal land, Alaska doesn’t receive production taxes and only receives a royalty over the life of the project. The tax law that Governor Palin enacted doesn’t make it worthwhile for the oil companies to invest in the Alaskan state land they hold leases for when oil prices are high.

The new tax law has been around for less than an year. It’s too early to decide if Governor Palin’s showdown with the oil companies has her coming out the winner. But so far, while it has given Alaska a windfall in oil tax money this year, long term might be another story.

Then there’s the natural gas pipeline. The McCain campaign would have us believe the pipeline is ready go, in Governor Palin’s acceptance speech she said: “I fought to bring about the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history. And when that deal was struck, we began a nearly forty billion dollar natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence.” That is far from the truth.

Governor Palin’s predecessor had cut a sweetheart deal with the oil companies where if I remember correctly, if they built the pipeline, they would receive $4 billion and a 40 year tax cut. It’s no wonder Governor Palin threw that deal out. But the oil companies weren’t happy to see their deal go up in smoke, especially when Governor Palin said they were obligated to provide the natural gas for the pipeline even though she tossed their sweetheart deal out. She asked for bids on the pipeline, the oil companies refused to participate.

Alaska accepted TransCanada’s bid and granted the company $500 million and a state license with no guarantee the pipeline will be built – there’s no construction contract. TransCanada doesn’t have the capital or the necessary gas reserves to start construction. Conoco and BP have proposed their own pipeline, the Denali Pipeline. If TransCanada never builds the pipeline, Alaska owes TransCanada up to $500 million for costs the company incurs, even without one foot of pipeline being laid.

    http://www.petroleumnews.com/pntruncate/503007715.shtml

Instead of negotiating with the oil companies for the natural gas line, the Palin administration decided they would rely on public and share holder pressure to force Exxon, BP and Conoco to fund it. So far, it isn’t working well. TransCanada insists they can’t start the project until Exxon is providing financial support. BP and Conoco want to build their own pipeline and Exxon is spending money on lawyers.

Alaska has two gas fields and both are needed to make a pipeline profitable. Exxon and Alaska are in litigation over the development of one of the gas fields, Point Thompson. Exxon has proposed a court ordered plan where they would spend $1.3 billion to develop the field for the pipeline. For some reason, the Palin administration rejected the plan and instead continues to pursue litigation and has rejected the court ordered mediation that Exxon would prefer. Unless the state reaches an agreement with Exxon over the Point Thompson field, no one is funding Governor Palin’s pipeline. Transcanada has proposed the idea that the U.S. government agree to pay billions in pipeline transportation fees as a bridge shipper in case the oil companies can’t provide enough natural gas to operate the pipeline at full capacity.

Governor Palin was in a stand off with oil companies, waiting for Exxon to blink first. Now that the McCain campaign has announced the gas pipeline is a done deal, the Governor no longer has Exxon under her thumb. Exxon now has the advantage. Without Exxon’s commitment to send enough natural gas down the pipeline, Transcanada is going to shuffle around incurring costs and there will be no start date for construction.

Governor Palin also claimed in her acceptance speech that she broke the oil companies’ monopoly on power and resources. The leases the oil companies have were granted years ago and grant them the rights to develop the oil and gas resources on state leased land. Nothing has broken up that monopoly.

I ask, how were the oil companies taken down? If they don’t want to pay the higher taxes, they’ll lower production in Alaska when oil prices are high and raise production elsewhere. The natural gas pipeline is no further along that it was four years ago when Congress passed a loan guarantee for $18 million to promote the development of the pipeline. The same companies still hold the leases in in Alaska. Governor Palin is costing Exxon a lot in legal fees over the Point Thompson field, which is probably annoying the company, but is that taking them down?

Obama has flip-flopped so much you would think that his ideas on the issues are those of John McCain. Close, Obama, but no cigar.

But why buy into the lesser, inferior quality Obama. Never mind the riots at Obama headquarters. Just say no.

Your one vote for John McCain for President of the United States of America, will buy you the genuine item. Battle tested and loyal to the nth degree. Guaranteed “Country first.”

McCain is authentic and with no danger of flopping back to some crazy left-wing socialist, communist ideology nonsense.

Sarah Palin is the bonus item. Guaranteed and proven to fight for her America constituents. Go Barracuda, go.

The problem, with Obama at least, is that he has expended all of his credibility. I cannot believe a word he says. As far as I am concerned, he has no credibility…zero…zilch.

I think the only thing that will save Obama/Biden is a dramatic unforeseen turn of events that would remove John McCain as the Republican nominee.

“I think the only thing that will save Obama/Biden is a dramatic unforeseen turn of events that would remove John McCain as the Republican nominee.”

I think the race will be back in a dead heat soon. Much of what has been said about Governor Palin’s accomplishments is exaggerated spin, easy fodder for the Obama campaign. Right now Senator McCain is riding high from his addition of Governor Palin to the ticket. But once the Obama campaign moves away from attacking her for being a mother, having a pregnant teenage daughter, etc… and moving onto her claims about how she took on the oil industry, cleaned house in Alaska and emphasize her conservative views and the nutty church she left in 2002 but was still speaking at this past June, we’re back at a draw.

To avoid that, the McCain campaign has to build on what Senator McCain is going to do for middle and lower income America. We need details on how he’s going to get us off of foreign oil, bring jobs, raise our standard of living, level the free trade field, stop inflation, etc… He can’t keep riding the tide of Governor Palin’s instant celebrity, national security, cutting wasteful spending and Country First without letting us know exactly how he’s going to make our lives better. He needs to flesh that it out.

If he doesn’t, it’s not going to look good for McCain when Obama starts mentioning that Palin spent $500 million to hire a company to construct the pipeline who doesn’t have the capital to do so and can’t do so unless Exxon is on board. Exxon is miffed at Palin and isn’t showing much interest in coming around to Palin’s way of thinking. BP and Conoco have said thanks, but no thanks, we don’t need your pipeline, we’ll build our own.

McCain is going to need something strong to combat Palin’s flaws beyond trying to ride his vice president’s celebrity coattails into the White House. This is a close election, he needs to get the voters supporting him, not entranced by his vice president. As wonderful as Palin might be, she has flaws and those flaws can be exaggerated and bump McCain back behind Obama in the polls if he can’t stand on his own.

Erica Jong over at HuffnPuff wrote, “White trash America certainly has allure for voters”???! Could be, but I seriously believe Democrats should have kept thoughts like that to themselves. Voters do not like to be called names, disrespected, and shamed into supporting you. It doesn’t work that way.

I suspect there is a tsunami coming of “bitter, garlic nosed, deadender, white trash, low information, uneducated,” voters that simply aren’t feeling all the love coming from the Dem party right now. I can’t imagine why.

White trash America certainly has allure for voters. Some people think rednecks are more American than Harvard educated intellectuals of mixed race.

Who does she thinks she is? She must not know the definition of trash/trashy.

The 3rd entry under “trash” in an old Webster’s is:
worthless ideas, talk, or writing; nonsense.
The definition of “trashy”, same dictionary is:
containing, consisting of, or like trash; worthless.

That is, if a black person, or someone p—–g [EDITED BY ADMINISTRATOR]for a certain half-black person says they have racial connotations, they must because only blacks/said p—s [EDITED BY ADMINISTRATOR]can understand the intent behind words. This is wrong, wrong, wrong. I’m not condoning the hurtful intent behind name calling, but to say that some people own words and other people can’t use them is some sort of oppression, another kind of race card.

  • Dr. Kate

    yawn. whatever.

we’re talking about Barky here. And his treatment of HRC will likely be one factor that gives McCain and Palin the WhiteHouse.

HRC will continue to make and live history. She is more powerful now than you can imagine. When barky limps back to the senate having given the dems the largest loss in history, he won’t be greeted as a hero.

    HRC will.

You are out of talking points if you hve to argue this. Good. Just means that you can’t defend your idiot barky and your idiocy in spamming trolling for him

  • McKatmoon

We take it that way here in TN, as we know what we are called often by both sides.

  • tillthen

Thanks, I sent it to my address book.

  • JML

Didn’t the Obarky crew effectively kill ABC off of the debates? Then it makes sense for the McCain camp to choose ABC as the first network to interview Sarah.

  • McKatmoon

E-mail? I prefer seeing the mouth move and hearing the voice, of an actual video, all else save court papers at this point are suspect. Anyone, can pretend to be anybody. O supporters have been using this tactic forever.

  • IndigoGrrl

…i’m gonna have nightmares after that :(

  • sproutingly

Whoa, hold it right there. Pete’s coffee is a darn sight better than Dunkin’ Donuts coffee!! ; )

  • McKatmoon

Just a little thought; you know female soldiers also have children, am I to assume this is the same argument to be made against them? Male soldiers too, single Dad’s leave children behind to do their jobs…does this same bashing apply to everyone in all employments? Doctor’s on 24 hour shifts, police, fire, name it…examine how you think this might apply, across the board, MSM, and O campaign. You slander all working parents with this tripe.

  • DAB

The left wing certainly seems to be coming unhinged. Their panic is obvious. I don’t know that much about Sarah Palin yet but what I do know is that the American way SHOULD BE to give any person a fighting chance to let us know who she is. This whole scenario of knee-jerk virulent attacks is SICK, SICK, SICK!

I’ve never seen anything quite like it and the irony of it all is extremely disturbing. It appears that the Dems could actually be a tad worse than the Gingrich/Rove Republicans ever were and that is indeed frightening.

  • TeakWoodKite

That is the opposite of what he said on Larry King.

  • McKatmoon

So glad to see you have our country’s interest at heart. Ever the hope and change folks. Right you are about your guy; all he can do is morph like the virus he is, hasn’t had an original thought since he couldn’t box himself into a package. That’s a whole lot of self hate going on.

  • Obama’s gums look sick

Michael Moore’s biggest crime was making people laugh at our nation’s tragedy in Farenheit 911. And then walk away from the movie thinking they had done something about it. And all we got was four more years of Bush.

  • Obama’s gums look sick

Don’t confuse Republican politicians with Republican voters. Fine line of difference. McCain is the Republican maverick, remember.

Best case scenario is a Republican President and a chastened Democratic Congree – both dedicated to doing what is best for the country, together.

  • PewL

Should tell CNN,they have the numbers as a dead heat.47-47 0r 48 48…Another station in the tank for Obama..There always the last to report good news..

    Mccain/Palin will prevail

  • Obama’s gums look sick

What is Chicago code for “community organizer”?

I got the impression in Barky’s case it was just a get out the vote effort for people who would support their insider candidates and in this case getting their hands on the public fund piggy trough in Chicago.

What else does it mean in his case?

  • sproutingly

He is fat but not stupid. Fat is not a crime. I am disappointed that he is supporting 0. Maybe that makes him stupid. But I still love his movies. And Cuba has a very complex history.

  • Dr. Kate

Biden’s performance on meet the press was awful. He looked bad, he was combative and defensive.

    the ticket is going down.

  • Obama’s gums look sick

Women over 60, and Hillary will be well over sixty achieve different priorities than everyday politics. Look at Gore – his life is now lived beyond the insatiable fray of politics and he walks off with a Nobel Prize.

  • sproutingly

Laugh? Really? I saw it and went away deeply troubled. Any laughter was out of derision. And the Bush we got in 2004 was gotten by stealing.

  • Obama’s gums look sick

Obama was warned early in the game winning the nomination with his jack-boot stormtroopers was no way to win the general election.

His was a highly flawed campaign and he and his supporters have yet to understand this. All they do is measure its success in taking Hillary down. They paid a huge price doing that as they are seeing now. They permanently severed a huge part of the traditional Democratic base.

He never won the hearts and minds of the rank and file. He just bullied and thugged his way into getting votes. He is now reaping what he himself sowed.

  • sproutingly

Let’s please remember that neither the Dems nor the Repubs are really on the side of the working people of this country. They are two parties representative of the corporate interests. I am picking my poison and this year it is Republican!

I think at least a little bit of good can come to us with McCain. WIth Obama, I think it it would be a lot of bad.

That does not negate that fact to me at least that both parties are woefully lacking.

  • Mr.Murder

Actually people had lower opinions of “Now Watch this Drive!” after viewing his film. Thus the media attempt to coddle AWOL like they’ve done Barack.

He dodn’t try to make people laugh at it either. Although AWOL said he ended the of 9-11 “with some laughter.”

    His.Own.Words.

  • Obama’s gums look sick

You forgot to add that he also permanently alienated a huge part of the traditional Dem base in his blood-thirsty seizure of the nomination.

  • WMCB

Bullshit. AA’s voted for Jesse in DROVES, but the difference is that the DNC did not game it to put him over the top, and he did not pull a lot of white voters.

Saying AA’s did not vote en masse for previous black male candidates is a flat out lie.

  • tillthen

So Candace Bergen is involved against the first woman VP candidate since Ferarro???

Wasn’t Candace Bergen in that movie “Miss Congeniality” and not only that, she had a major role as the Pageant Director???

And now she’s *against* Palin who was a real Miss Congeniality???

    What hypocrisy….lol

    MG!

Bergen is a typical Hollywood POS. Spoiled brat with tofu for a brain. But she is precious nevertheless; for she has over-sized books illustrating the plight of Africans and thus telegraphing her concern for them. They’re right next to the Toblerones laid out for guests. You can’t miss them…the Tobies or the books.

  • Sandi78

Thanks very much for that link. I’ve already used it on other message boards where the bots are looking for “new rumors” about Gov. Palin.

  • Obama’s gums look sick

Old joky by now but bears repeating here: Jesus wears a wrist band saying: WWSPD (What would Sarah Palin do)

  • sproutingly

Yes, he can only get away with stealing if the race is within 3%. Any more than that and I believe it becomes too apparent and therefore too risky.

I’m talking about the parameters of election fraud, where votes are flipped after the fact. However, there are old fashioned thug tactics and actual voter fraud that will have to be accounted for this time, too. The Republicans didn’t tend to use those tactics in 2004. They engaged in election fraud and stole electronically for the most part.

  • Duras

    Hee hee …. I can’t wait! :-)

It’s amazing how the mind rationalizes.

  • sproutingly

    OT but,

since you mentioned Karl Rove, here’s what puzzles me: How could Donna Brazille have ever thought Karl Rove was her friend? How could the DNC have allowed that association?

  • TeakWoodKite

She does know how to whistle.

I did not like “Juno” at all. It was touted as so controversial…to the Left, I guess…because she had the baby had gave it up so she could go on to college and even staying friends with the baby’s father. I just thought it was sleazy. Full of wise cracks and stupidity. Lots of young girls in he audience when I saw it and it made me furious that this was being glamorized.

I think I understand all that you are against…

Seriously, it was National Security Matters, then pro-Hillary, anti-Obama, now it’s pro-Palin..

Just keep moving the goal posts I guess, what’s funny although I believe Larry is a Republican, this blog shows up in the left HATE site category – the irony is rich don’t you think…?

  • Republitarian-No-Troll

    Reagan came back and won.

  • jcm

He is not really saying lay of Palin – his message is help Obama.

  • Tristan

I agree that the economy could use much more infrastructure spending, but it is perfectly reasonable to put that on the “credit card” during the recession and then raise taxes when the economy starts to stabilize. Obama is actually right on this flip flop – the economy is so shaky right now you don’t want to do anything that’ll mess it up. McCain says the same thing effectively when asked why he’s now “for” the Bush tax cuts. You really have to jump start economic growth before you can think of doing anything else.

But yes I agree with you 100% that Bush should have done infrastructure improvements rather than rebates, and the argument that “it takes too long” is bogus because a smart government should have some stuff ready to go, and even starting a project would create some jobs and get some economic activity going. Infrastructure is one of the only areas that I’m more comfortable with Obama and worry about McCain. The US will never have lower costs than China or india, so let’s compete on education and infrastructure and open markets.

  • http://firefox AnnieCarmel

Well, they are both into education. Wonder whether any money from Ayers or his Chicago cohorts went to Oprah’s African school?

  • Republitarian-No-Troll

    Right on.

  • wry

Jeremiah- if I wasn’t married I’d propose to you…well, you and Strawberry.

  • jcm

That BHO/media trick was very interesting , ie: if your educated and successful you vote for OB because subliminaly all people want to be educated and successful therefore joint the smart crowd and vote BHO. Fortunately smart people see right through the empty vessel.

  • Obama is a bum

How come anyone can use the words whitey, white trash, white bread, honky, cracker, etc. freely, but some black people insist that they “own” words, starting with “n—-r. [EDITED BY ADMINISTRATOR.]”

White people as a group don’t complain about being called derogatory names but black people get irate about it.

Now call me a cracker and watch me laugh about it.

    Case closed.

  • DirOfTheObv

Just a great article! Very well done!

A couple of problems with Hillary as Senate Majority Leader at this point:

1–That would pretty much guarantee that she won’t run for President in 2012. The post of Senate Majority Leader is a position that rarely produces Presidential nominees–the last I can recall to earn his party’s nomination was Bob Dole, and he resigned from the Senate in order to devote his full attention to the Presidential campaign. Dole faced too many accusations that he might use his post for political advantage. And you can be damn well-assured that there would be no end of such accusations tossed at Hillary. Especially given the fact that Hillary would have to make a choice whether to run for the President or keep her Senate seat and Majority Leader post by running for re-election. The possibility of DELIBERATELY only being a Senate Majority Leader for 4 years would just feed into the standard “Hillary will do anything to satisfy her political ambitions” play that far too many IN HER OWN PARTY accused her of during this past primary season.
2–It’s very unlikely under a McCain Presidency that the Senate Democrats will accept Hillary as Majority Leader until the DNC which foisted Obama upon the country will accept this failure and will, instead, offer up Obama as Senate Majority Leader. Given the way that Congressional delegates rolled over to endorse Obama for President, it’s unlikely that the Senate would ever accept being “racists” for failing to choose the first African-American Senate Majority leader. After all, a woman is already in charge of the House. Why would the Senate Democrats need a woman as their Majority Leader?
3–The worst problem comes from an Obama Presidency. If Hillary becomes Majority Leader, she will be under so much more scrutiny by the DNC to support AND get passed any and all of Obama’s objectives. She WON’T be allowed to dissent even once. Every one of her votes against The One will be ammo against her in a 2012 bid as proof of her “disloyalty” and “unwillingness to get over 2008″ (and, even worse, will guarantee that she’d lose the Majority Leader post if she’s obliged to retain her Senate seat).

    This Blog’s for Change, mitchman.

    Real change, not empty rhetoric.

  • Mr. Natural

    I’ve got an idea, mitchman.

    Senator Obama can help out.

Next year, if he’s got time to visit his Senate offices between FBI “national security briefings,” Senator Obama can try using some of that vaunted Leadership your crew has been bragging about.

There’s a first time for everything.

Meanwhile, back in Chicago it appears that the Obama campaign was in contact with the University of Chicago scrubbing the Annenburg files:

And what is so great about Sarah Palin?
She is a right winger, she is a racist.
All of you know that it is the corporate media

Shame on all of you. White people really do suck.

“We are the Ones” “Now is our Time”

“Voting for me” affirms and validates your superiority. It’s pure marketing. Buying product “X” proves you have good taste, have money, are smart, have superior friends, etc. Throw rationality out the window. Just buy it.

I think there’s a bit of this in every election and every party. Thankfully, except in groups like the supremicist organizations, it is less overt.
